Clues are up
Thanks Lickety.

goodnight
nbt and half way -- enough for me tonight. See you tomorrow :)
Au8
Morning all. May have have stats for an O please?
Oa4
I'm an IDIOT! I need to be slapped with the entire sea of fish!
Thanks
Or5
Got them all. Clearly it's too early for me to play!
Have a good day. Almost time for dinner here.
or6
They're all covered now - I'm going back into my fish filled box ;)
Not getting that or. Does anyone have stats for the 8?
au8/75
or6 sex parties.
arpe s
did not see that o coming
I thought Molly's clue was organ sex parties.
There is King Cake, Jambalaya and beads for all in the PB
hmm
Happy Fat Tuesday!
carla maybe it wasn't hard enough
did not even realize
I'm giving up television for Lent.
It's pretty much in and out
penetrating observations
I thought you already gave up television
bea, you already gave up tv
I don't believe in giving things up for Lent. I think it's better to "do" something positive instead
I give up things some years, other years I don't. I already give up gluten year round, that is a sacrifice.
I know I gave it up already. Should be easy.
my dad always does liquor-free Lent. he's fun to talk to about noon on Easter Sunday though... :-)
I have just never bought the notion that a loving creator wants us to suffer
haha le4 in the grid - PB for us, Molly
I struggle with the no meat/eat fish on Fridays. mr. homie said that was from a pope way back who was trying to revive the fish industry.my friend who converted to catholicism is very strict about that.
That is why I am IN the PB, keeping the Jambalaya warm. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Guess what's coming tomorrow night? Yep. More freaking snow.
More rain.
my son played in a soccer game last night - 39F and torrential downpour, but then it was finally stopped and canceled due to the nonstop LIGHTNING AND THUNDER.
Hey, we could be in the below zero temps with snow.
I am starting to feel the lack of sunshine. Time to beef up the vitamin D
while I don't like below zero temps, snow is preferable to the cold rain we've had all winter
we have sunshine right now! I should go walk Winston.
Snow is NEVER preferable to me. You don't have to shovel rain.
our street flooded again and washed our trash bin down the street
pe6 and or6. found today's theme!
Thanks for the PE
phantoms arsenic, arsenal
Floating Trash Bins, sounds like a grunge band
stuck at 33. guess I will walk winston and then go pick up my groceries. TTFN
so you're calling dibs on that for a band name?
phantom: sexual
No, not really Carla. Just an observation.
found the ex6, thanks shakespeare
And they go out
hello
le4/4 is a day early
h stats pls?
5/22
oh duh ty
yw
clue for the 8 pls?
au 6/75
I meant au 8/75
It's a weird word and don't even know where to begin cluing!
Singular ends in et4/5
But WEIRD!
Ooh, I needed that one; thanks! :)
neti
d'oh!!
greetings, babblers
hi hursh
lots of melting here today
hi hursh
hi
ic4 and... i can't see what else can come from that first i
me neither
ic5
thanks ru
adj. has to do with recurring stress in poetical form (my new word for today).. hi all
hello ru, aloy
not so easy today - first pass and 55 to go.
Hi Harry.. hope you are staying warm
it's so warm today! around 40 F
was listening to NPR reports from Dallas.. brr.. power company intermittently shutting down to prevent total blackouts, not enough snow removal equipment, etc
Strange. I am finding a different definition for ic5
I used a Scrabble dictionary
crazy tx weather indeed
one more t, o what can it be
There's an ar5/10 that shows up here and in a lot of other puzzles. I wonder...what that's trying to tell us.
that it's a word, in English, made of common letters?
Some of the weirdest English words are made of common letters. (This one isn't, but...kind of dark!)
enues
whoops sorry
not a word anyway
that's clever though hursh
got up, ran upstairs to answer my cell ringing. missed the call. phone says "spam risk"
what, my non word?
yup
hello again, naturally
hi carla
sure is easy to close out letters in this grid
if you say so lol
hi hokie
it's much less clever when you realize that if it WERE a word, it would come from the top E, which i have already greyed out
hursh, is ti5.14 your missing t? Just found it
that'll be it, yes
thanks
weird, you'd think te6 would be harder but nooo
good.. yw
just p's now for me
still 32 here
95 here :D
oh, I thought you were about to finish
no, i just needed one T to grey the top row
not getting ic5, regular or ridiculous?
I need 1 i, 2C, 2T, and 1 E for top row. LOL
weird but at least the ending is a standard adjectival ending
ends with a twitch hokie
got it, thanks, both. weird indeed
fw here.. off to do laundry if no clues are needed
well done!
tx, maybe we will have a big one tomorrow.. ciao and Happy Babbling
the valet has arrived to groom the king
Hurshy is into those funny mushrooms again
no, it's just Opie and Fritz, my cats
Opie is the King of Everything, clad in golden robes, whose splendor is wondrous to behold
and rilla? how many cats? and how many make you a cat lady?
Fritz is his valet, in a tuxedo, naturally
yes, and then there's Rilla, and that is the whole gang
but, you may recall that while Rilla LOOKS like a cat, she is actually an angel, therefore i have two cats and one angel
molly's onto something ...
y'all are just boring grown-ups i guess
no imagination
no, I'm totally imagining you as a crazy cat lady right now
that's not imagination, that's taking evidence and visualizing it. if you told me you were cooking and i pictured you cooking, that's not really imagination
:D
what's the 8?
I thought I saw someone say au. I have au6/7
stuck at 25. 7 4's, 7 5's, 6 6's, 4 7's, 1 8
mk got au7/8 combo
9 left here, three 7s, five 6s, and a four
what is my N on the bottom?
no4/6 or the greek temples
must be greek temples
morning all
morningi mool
hey hursh, happy Tuesday
it did not start well for me
moo!
Oh man, those are some mushrooms. Carlos Castenada would be jealous
actually, this is why i've never needed to drink or take drugs. i'm quite silly and uninhibited enough without any assistance
Ha! that has been my motto for my whole adult life. I modified it in the last few years to "exactly the same with or without alcohol".
I don't think either one of you needs any inhibition loosening.
I'm ok with drugs and alcohol personally..
not hard drugs though
have never been drunk or done drugs. don't really like alcohol unless it's a sweet mixed drink or something and then I'd rather save the calories for a delicious dessert.
hey hoke...happy day of Tyr
Anyone who thinks about calories while they are drinking will never be successful at it
well, broke down and went to the list. missed some easy ones, but still 7 left!
122 left :)
this was not an easy one for me
Okay, this is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. "I see people driving alone in their car wearing a mask and I wonder if they lay in bed alone wearing a condom."
Given that people have their masks on in their cars likely have multiple stops and don't want to keep touching their masks, I...hope that same logic doesn't applies to condoms!
*apply ....ughgh!!!! subject/verb agreement...
you need participation with a condom ... otherwise..
le 6/21, pls
think soup, change final letter
Ooh, nice! Thanks!
It never fails. Whenever I bring up people alone in cars wearing masks, someone defends it. That is okay, I will just keep on laughing.
(Also is nice if the heater doesn't work. :) )
i take my mask off when driving.. mostly because my glasses fog up
Anti-fog solutions just don't work in cold weather for me. I think 55ºF is the threshold.
(BTW, confession...sometimes I just plain *forget* to remove my mask when I'm in the car. :) )
And I call FOUL on Linux not being in the dictionary!! Booooo!
Oh not me. I rip those things off as soon as I exit a store. I hate wearing them.
Some of the articles about people who wear masks while driving are pretty funny. Pictures of giant, mutant COVid molecules rolling down the streets. : D
is linux not a proper noun?
Yeah, but the fact is...I'm a big effing nerd and think it should be accepted. 8)
ty TO
orgie
well, no proper nouns are accepted, whether nerds want them or not. :D
sorry, not a word
so close, bichon
34 to go
I think people have just started making up their own COVID rules. "The Center for Disease Control and Prevention does not recommend people wear face coverings while driving."
To be honest, I don't really follow the "I don't want to keep touching my mask" logic for those who keep it on while driving. Given that masks are usually nonporous surfaces, the virus likely won't survive on those things.
(Having said that, if I'm in an Uber, I want my driver to keep it on!)
hi, all
are all 3 u words un-?
Yep!
yes
I don't wonder about people in the car with other people wearing masks. I wonder about people driving alone wearing masks. Someone here said something about cross contamination and that is when I realized that people were just making up their own COVID rules.
unlaces, unrent I have. what am I missing?
only two ethnic slurs in this grid. Yay enable.
Finally, I'm getting my vaccine on March 10
good for you, bichon!
Awesome! Still a ways away, but at least you have a date.
evening all - I'm booked for the first vaccine for Friday.
I was lucky enough to get the first shot recently. My wife is 1B, and while we were there, she said, "Can you take care of my husband too?" They had a lot of cancellations, and given the short shelf life, they'd rather they use it than let it go to waste because of no-shows.
My daughter found it for me. I't not in my town, but, about 45 minutes from me.
yes - I have a couple of friends who have ended up getting a 'spare' shot
i thought you said your wife was 18 :D
I think I have to wait till April.
no
go
groan
Well, FWIW, 16 is the age of consent here. :)
sorry
wow where's that Arkansas?
I thought it was 18 too Ru. I was like, whoa
OOps, 17.
oopsie
Tell that to the father of a 16 year old girl. And pray he doesn't have a shotgunh
now now, no casting aspersions on Uncle Daddy
In the UK it is 16 with parental consent in England, Wales and N Ireland, in Scotland you can get married without the consent. Once you're 18 you can get married without consent in the other three countries.
But no, my wife is older than 18. :) She's categorized as one-bee. :)
16 is just too creepy
I'm technically one-cee.
(I would have said "1C" but at quick glance that looks like "10".)
16 with parental consent is even creepier
You can get married at 16? Can you get an abortion?
yep. It's weird, you can leave school, have sex, get married, join the armed forces but not buy cigarettes, alcohol or vote.
And for the record, consent refers to sexual relations, not marriage.
Or have an abortion?
well I consented to everything as a teenager
etic
I cannot have an abortion. For a myriad of reasons.
Ow I am sorry again
That I'm a guy is at least in the top 5.
shouldn't chat and play
ruru, I think I might have *dated* you as a teenager. Or maybe been you
Hey, Kap, how about you accidentally chat the L word I'm missing? 8D
Personal choice?
Because I'm evil
Molly - the consent is legally for the marriage. Once you've turned 16 you can consent to sex yourself.
:D Jp
Yes, if you are sixteen you can have an abortion, well in England, Scotland and Wales, not N Ireland
I can't comment on Northern Ireland lest I be called a racist
no matter how many times I type them, neither sceptic nor septic are in the grid
well you are onto something there jb
Try accenting the e!
scratches head
drop the t in one of them
oh, that one I got.
still looking for the 3rd U tho
I didn't. Thanks, ru!
The third u has a common root, but one that you usually don't think of having that prefix.
stats on it?
nm, got it'
just had to un-present tense it
Finally cleared out the Ls with a l7/36!
I recently did "find your group" website for NC. I am group 4 and they are currently on 2.
looking for a clue for the au 8
my clue is it's a plural
jbp - that one is just plain weird...
I looked up the 7, never seen it before
The best clue I saw is that there's a pluralized et/4 at the end of it.
like a jack or cord to plug your phone or something in (short version) + what dauber said
"The age of consent is the age at which a person is considered to be legally competent to consent to sexual acts."
thanks to all, especially Carla
that is an odd one
good morning everyone :-)
Molly - yes, but with reference to marriage, the law in the UK says at 16 with parental consent.
Hi Nan
Finally some quiet time...
off to make pancakes. It's 'Pancake Day' here in the UK - otherwise known as Shrove Tuesday ;)
bbl
53 left and I'm off to do kitchen things. hope to bbl
I wanted pancakes today. Can't make them at home because the smell of cooking pancakes makes the wife ill, can't go get 'em because our alley is jammed with snow, and they're not delivering today because of snow. :(
One of the cities in my home state always competed with a city in England in a pancake flipping race. Always fun!
interesting, dauber. I like pancake smell but the smell of pancake syrup makes me ill.
wondering if wendrie makes them from scratch or if they have a good GF mix in UK. not a lot of good ones here.
No indiginous housing today?
Do you make them gf grom scratch, Carla?
close but no cigar
also, cigar close but no cigar
I met a woman in the store the otherday looking for Rogers corn syrup to send to her son in Quebec because he couldn't get it there --- only maple syrup in Quebec of course. Found it hard to believe anyone would prefer corn syrup to pure maple syrup, but that's ife!
I just don't make them a lot, use a mix when I do.
Maybe he wanted it for candy making?
Trader Joe's has some really delish frozen GF silver dollar pancakes
Why use a mix when pancakes are so easy to make from scratch?
Does everyone know that the smell of maple syrup makes Carla gag? If you don't, you should by now.
Guess I didn't!
have def. mentioned it a time or two.
do you remember the other 2 things, molly?
Guess you don't like maple cookies or maple sugar candies either!
nope
Carla - just made these https://bojongourmet.com/plows-ricotta\n-pancakes/
I can get gf mixes here - either for British pancakes (crepes) from any grocery store, or the fatter drop pancakes from Costco.
back to dinner :)
I've been making flatbread using this pancake/baking mix by Pamela's and only adding plain yogurt. those are really good.
those look good. will have to pin that.
ty for the au 7/8 clue
clue for the ic5pls?
The IC5 sounds like something you'd say when you found a small round bug on your dog
any clues for the LE 7? Is it a weird word?
Easy Pancakes recipe in profile. These are scottish style cakes.
hmm
I can't stress this enough. Bluttermilk is what MAKES pancakes.
*Buttermilk
lol ty joy
sorry joy i dont have it
doesn't that depend on whether you are making pancakes or flapjacks molly?
i thought they were the same thing?
not at all mlf
flapjacks are larger and thinner
i thought flapjacks was an old term
for pancakes
if you look at the recipe I posted, they are quite different -- at least mine are a lot different from any flapjacks I've been served in the states.
i saw your recipe hubby cant make pancakes to save his you know what but i think thats because it should have buttermilk in them and they dont. The mixes he try to make from pancakes i think requires it
wouldn't know --- have never used a mix
they come out very flat and not that flavorful. i have never personally made them before
these have a lot of flavour (the butter I think is what does it) and they are about 1/2" thick, light and fluffy
No difference between flapjacks and pancakes.Same recipe it is just what you call them. Some people call them hotcakes.
if the package says buttermilk pancakes .. that SHOULD be a clue but we dont use buttermilk generally speaking so i think he used water or milk
thats true molly
I'm don't know about the ones you make molly, but any flapjacks I've been served in the states are large, thin, a little on the chewy side and have little flavour --- more like bread
You don't need to make pancakes from a mix. All they are is flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, an egg, some oil and buttermilk. An electric griddle that you can set the temperature on is the best way to cook them.
and there is the difference right there --- oil and buttermilk instead of butter and milk!
u gave heard that and seen the made before. we just had the mix and needed to make them before they went bad
i have heard
sorry
In the US, flapjacks and pancakes are the same thing
yes -- that is why I never order them in the states
Again, also called hotcakes and griddlecakes. Depends on where you are.
Le7 please?
don't have it une
Well then I guess we all need to go to Canada to get decent pancakes.
i have the le6 but i though tthe 7 goes with it?
lol molly
not sure you will get anything different in a restaurant, molly --- most of fast food restaurants are USA franchises
une do you have the le6?
Une, le7 sounds like the bay of song in Jamacia
i used morewords to get the le7
it ends in the opposite of stop
ty mlf
yw cyber
I guess MLF does not know the Bobby Bloom song
Look at that. I found a recipe for Canadian Buttermilk Pancakes.
Have le6.....
Molly -- let it go --- I was just posting my recipe for anyone who wanted to try it --- it's not a competition!
Tx.....got it!!
ty Molly
25 to go.....
Clue for the TE6 plz..it's my last word and I'm stumped!
that's one of the 5 I am missing joy
Think about places to go to see any kind of shows, but with the "t" instead of the actual letter.
I'm stuck on two Rs. :/
Oops, not any more. :)
And the word Dauber is talking about normally starts with a V
cinema, theater, night club -- none of those are close
a v? absolutely no idea
Start with the number after nine.
ah - like a plural generic site for something
ty zoom
Welcome although it was , Dauber who clued it :-)
3 left, but need to leave for an appointment - back to finish later
yes - ty dauber but you too zoom -- I wasn't thinking generally enough from dauber's clue -- not just shows, but a site for anything from a flea market to shows to athletics
see you later or tomorrow -- bye :)
Bye, Nan. Hope your appointment goes well.
agree flapjacks = pancakes = hotcakes
Un5? Have "to loosen a knot"
un + to allow
In the UK a flapjack is totally different to a pancake.
Tx luv!!
Hi folks. Could I please have a clue for the ep 6/27?
For starters a flapjack here have oats in it.
EP + vowel + film ***e with the wind.
Thanks, zooz.
Welcome.
Off to play a different game now. Happy babbling everyone!
en tic
finally got the TE6; thanks all!
hello! 31 here.
hello...22. here....
go pen!
29 now. but it's tough going
yes...i have listed....
I might join you
will do it later. have fun!
ty...
i am done...
heading out....bye all...
Man...stuck on my last P...
you can get a prescription for that, dauber
At least I banged out all my Fs. 8)
well F'ed!
ughghg...it was a plural I had for a long time that needed to be singularized!
Was just reading through log for clues and feel the need to defend wearing my mask in the car. I HATE masks that have ear loops. They fall off my ears. I must have a narrow face
So I use the tie kind. MUCH MUCH easier to leave it on between nearby stops in my car. And no big deal. Why the gratuitous mention and laughter.
I hear ya, REG. One particular person here will scoff at it no matter what reasons are given. You do you!
It's easy to be offended by others...

28 to go here. gonna list this one.
9 now...still missing 2x4, 2x5, 2x6, 2x7 and 1x8
at least I've been pretty balanced :)
yes you are very symmetric, almost perfectly so. much like your owl.
tx, I decided to resize the pic
I see both sides of the mask thing in the car.. I think if you're running from stop to stop it's best to just keep it on. But if you're driving longer distance ... maybe not.. I can't wait to take mine off either once i'm safe in my car. Both make sense to me.
I find myself yawning in class and covering my mouth even though I'm wearing a mask. silly.
Personally, I don't see why it matters whether someone chooses to wear a mask in a car...it matters none to me :)
it does look a little odd on the freeway I must admit
help with te5 please last word

There are mask straps that attach with snaps to the ear loops of your masks and then go over the back of the head. My husband likes them because earloops can pull out his hearing aids! Tom Bihn is one company that makes them--and they work with all earloop masks.
duh, thanks ru
perhaps he should wear a full body mask

ty - could of sworn i had typed that!
Can I please get a clue for the ex6/36?
Never mind. Found it and finished.
well done, origami!
was just laughing at myself in the shower when I realized the skin issue I was referring to earlier is impe*, not infant. no idea where that came from in my mind. hopefully molly already corrected it.
shower is a place than can be mind-clearing for some reason.
yep
Tonoight, i'm repackaging a tube i sealed and addressed in i thin 1988 for a friend in Spain. Tomorrow, i will post it to her as i intended to do all those years ago. I don't recall what is in it, other than something paper.
Wow
I recently found some thank you cards that my now 20 yo son wrote to relatives for birthday presents when he was like 10 and I never mailed them.
heh.
these things happen apparently. :)
oh, hm. i'll need to fill a customs declaration. hm.
hey Seain. just declare it as paperwork.....loll
I'm certain there is a letter in there. And that it's a gift.
i wonder what value to declare.
or better still toilet paper....
if toilet paper, weigh it, and put it's worth in gold....loll
i know, i know. i'm weird, right.
it might be a poster from that era.
ooohhh, an antique.....now that might be interesting...
and i don't want to open the thing i wrapped to see at this point.
don't you know anyone with access to a fibre optic. only need very small hole then.
well, it's roolled whatever it be.
just let me know when i start to be helpful. then i'll stop.
if it's roolled it might be a poster of a kangaroo.
go on, give in. open the wretched thing. just one end, and have a peek. you can always reseal it afterwards.
doubtful, as i lived in the Washiton, DC suburbs. But not impossible.
I remember when she was in New York City in 1990. And i had to explain how far away Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon are from NYC. (8h by bus to the former and 5h by plane, plus ground travel, to the other)
Europeans always fail to understand the scale of this country.
if you could only see how much i am laughing. oh i hear brother you Seain. people fail to understand the scale of this country too.
i have a pic of Australia with the whole of Europe and the UK within our borders. would be the same for you too.
indeed! Canad has that issue, too.
Yeah, i just looked up Netherlands, and learnt it's roughly the size of New Jersey.
Don and i used to laugh like crazy when we were over there. (europe i mean ). people were amazed at how far we travelled per day. to us it was like driving around the corner and down the road for a bit.of course, a bit could be 20 feet or three miles to us
i know right. when i was visiting with Sprite she was so sure i was going to exhaust myself with all the driving we did. i mean a few hours and we were just about through to the border with Belgium.
I watched a youtuber drive from London to Edinburgh, and was laughing at how long a drive he perceived it to be (Roughly where i live to NYC, maybe 5h)
i know. absolutely crazy. Don and i drove straight up the M1, with stops for touristy stuff, and were in scotland, inverness to be exact within 8 hours.
I rode the trains to visit with MonkeyGames, and really most of the country while i was there last Spring.
Oh, nice. That's good to know.
good way to get around Seain. they have an incredible public transport system.
They do, indeed!
The Rotterdam subway goes to The Hague. :)
oh, and the Netherlands and their freeway system. just amazing. only time your speed dropped below fast was when you were transferring from one freeway to the next.
Nice. I was on trains the whole time. Aside from entering and leaving at Schiphol.
GPS only lost us the once there. we ended up in the middle of a new housing estate. and i the UK it was such a help. in france it tried to get us to drive down an ever-narrowing footpath to reach a certain restaurant. was so funny. sprite in front seat beside Don " er, Don? we appear to have 1/2 an inch on this side of the path"
LOL
ahhh, Schipol. has to be my all time favourite airport thus far. i hope i can become strong enough to travel again after cv-109. i want to sail over to USA and see all your glorious places for myself.
If you do, i'd he happy to show you things in DC and/or the NE.
I live near KIAD and KDCA
thank-you so kindly for the offer Seain. i think that may help with our decision where to go first.
ive been to schipol
KIAD has international flights, KDCA is domestic or Canada only.
customs at Schipol was lovely. The customs officer looked at me like i was crazy to want to travel from Rotterdam to Haarlem to visit people. LOL
and flying out, i got scolded for having a flashlight in my carry on. Which wasn't mentioned leaving the US.
and you came home, AtlKru? willingly? i certainly didn't want to leave. the netherlands i mean.
Yeah, Netherlands was lovely.
i spent a month in belgium and nederlands. i almost didnt come home
Seain, i had sent Sprite, as part of a package, a child's hot pink tutu. i was so worried i would not know her. when we rounded the corner from customs, there was this gorgeous dutch lady standing there, with a hot pink tutu around her neck. i fell crazy in love with my soul sister there and then.
<3
its hit or miss with me and customs. either they give me a really hard time or they ask me 2 questions and im on my way
Atl we had a week in Brugge. IN, not ouside. our hotel was in the centre of the town. amazing time.
sounds like an adventure
oh it was. me with a wheelie walker on cobble stones. wobble a kilo or so off my upper arms there. relocated itself to the midriff. it was the chocolates fault, truly it was.
we went across the US in our motorhome on a 7 week trip in 2014. I don't think I realized the scale of this country until then, and also just how culturally different it is all over.
extended trips are the best
yeah, the culture varies so much. There are a few regions whose cultures i don't like, or maybe just don't understand.
the kids were ready to be home at the end, but mr. homie and I could've kept going.
yes, Carla. we have been to large areas of our country too. little Tasmania, we have visited four times. so beautiful. and various other bits. haven't been to the Northern Territory yet, and i want to see Western Australia again before i die. this time with a person who will appreciate it.
would love to visit there if it wasn't so far away LOL
and your deadly creatures frighten me a little :D
WA in the spring, after the first rainfall, is so exquisite. the wildflowers are as far as you can see.
what? the drop bears? nah. they're okay if you give them cookies.
Good evening!
In Centreville, VA is the largest stand of Bluebells east of the Mississippi.
hello, nef!
my dear Nef. hello honey.
hello
is centreville NOVA? or outskirts?
Seain, as large as in Scoland? we were there when they were in flower. they mow paths through them so we can walk in the fields.
*Scotland*
I’m catching up in chog, how is everyone? AndI have to laugh at howmany people don’t realize how big this country really is.
no clue re Scotland on that. I was speaking only to the US.
Yes, it's in SW Fairfax County next to Bull Run.
well, I knew it was big but didn't appreciate how big until I traveled across it
Just North of Manassas.
funny name for a town in that part of the state. what was it the center of when it was named?
it was the center of the original Prince William County.
front door bell. ttfn
ah
DH had some relatives visit hid family from Sweden years ago, and the young man thought we could see Lake Superior, the Grand Canyon, NYC, Epcot, and San Francisco all in 1 week.
Which at that time included all of Northern VA plus Fauquier County.
oh my
LOL, yes NEF that's so like Europeans on average visiting here.
And he thought we could drive all that way in 1 week.
Here in DC, we need to explain that each museum is a full day. So they need pick and choose.
Fw!!
yay Une!
I was grown before I knew the Smithsonian was a bunch of different museums
well done, une!
the Smithsonian includes the National Zoo, as well as the Whitney-Cooper Design museum in NYC
YAY, UNEA!!! WTG!!!
or is it the Cooper-Hewitt. hm.
I took my family to DC back in the early 90’s while I was there for a nursingconvention. I told them to go to the Smithsonian while I was attending the convention that week. I don’t think they made it through all of the different museums that week.
my kids went there on 8th grade trips
Cooper-Hewitt. in Nyc, and a branch of the American Indian museum n NYC
we went to a football game when the kids were little and went to the zoo, rode the metro, went to a couple of museums
There's also the National Gallery of Art (two buildings) on the mall that are notpart of the Smithsonian.
I had to get my NBT in because I’d just got here when I said good evening)
I would like to go to DC and go throughAll the museums there. I’ve never been through most of them (I was always there for nursing business meetings (ANA); & I never skipped out to sightsee.
I'm going to guess 249 for new grid
I’ll agree with you hokie.
Sigh. Snow again due on Thursday.
we have a winter storm watch or warning, i don't recall
hopefully snow, not ice again on Thursday.
watch
oh, snow tomorrow AND Thursday.
ah, i had wrong day up in app. Just Thursday. whew.
We’re suppose to get above zero tomorrow or Thursday. The temp here has been below zero (F) for over 281 hours, a record for the Twin Cities.
eeep. may you get up to a least freezing.
looks like 37 and rain again, not sure why that's a winter storm watch since that's pretty much all that's happened in the last few weeks and there wasn't a watch before.
friends in Texas are having it bad.
yep
I feel sorry for our poor TX friends who aren’t used to cold & don’t have power.
Maybe THIS time the Texas Grid operator will winterize their system.
they probably don't have winter coats (just going by my in-laws in N. FL)
My friends there do have Winter coats, though most don't have power.
Wouldn’t that be nice? I was told that part of the reason was their wind farms were frozen, & I said ours never freeze here!
This is the third time since 1989 their grid has failed due to cold.
Our friends have winter coats & wear them when their temp drops to 40 degrees (F). Their house was 45 degrees inside last night!
this doesn't happen in OK, AR, LA, NM, AL, MS, GA, nor even FL!
a friend in San Antonio went to stay with friends with power after her apartment fell to 42 and stayed there.
They also have a shortage of natural gas! I think OK is having some problems too, sean.
Sorry, Seain
huh. Friend in Chicago says they got 22.9in snow on top of 20 already on the ground.
We don’t have that much snow.
