Tx Molly

Does anyone have the U from the 1st column?

Thanks

7:02 am

I'm looking for it at the minute, one is un7/36, the other which I'm trying to find is un7/40.

Thanks Haz, do they build off 5's?

7:03 am

No, at least the un7/36 doesn't.

7:04 am

Or do you mean is a five included in the second part? Yes, in that case.

7:05 am

I've found the second one. They differ in only one letter.

Oh, OK

7:06 am

If you need or want a clue, let me know.

Yes please, I am not getting it.

7:07 am

The first one is un plus an equine, the second one is un plus where you live.

Ah, thank you. The first one (the equine) is from the other u, but I got the 2nd.

7:09 am

Good, glad you got them, sorry for misleading, I sometimes get mixed up with where the words come from,

7:09 am

Today is like a feeding frenzy after the last several puny grids

7:10 am

I know, I enjoy big grids where you can get lots of words quickly.

7:40 am

hi pen!

well, I haven't found any since I just started, so I have none to give. will probably hide for a while as well. howdy, pen!

7:54 am

100 to go! class time - later all

7:55 am

Again, it would be nice if we could have a "clue free" chat option. It's too bad people have to hide the chat because they want to try and find words on their own.

Did you know that the game Clue is called Cluedo in the UK?

8:07 am

So, does that mean it's called "Clueseau" in France?

HAAA!

You win the chog today, Judi

8:10 am

Thank you Thank you. I'm here all week.

8:11 am

You UK people have such cutesy names for things. Nappies, prams, lollies.

8:14 am

Hi all. Would love a clue for the 8. Also have no clue what 8s yet. So clues and stats welcome. Ty

pissier is certainly a word

I thought so too

I'm certainly pissier on some days than others

9:08 am

These grids are definitely pissier some days than they are others.

truth

9:10 am

Any grid with two re's in it is pissier.

or any grid with 39 c's

9:17 am

We should probably all be in the PB for more or less giving away a word (minus the R)

9:17 am

any more gu's and i'm going batshit crazy

hogwash

darnit, I already have the batshit one

have finally reached halfway on each tile. guess I will get to work and come back later. adios

10:50 am

is there such a thing as dry precipitation? lol

10:50 am

well, if I'd said rain, someone would complain, and if I said ra4, that's just pointing out a word in the grid too

10:51 am

disdain complain that focuses on rain

10:51 am

just no winning with you people ;)

10:51 am

lol

10:52 am

10:59 am

what if you missed some spots skinning your deer, wouldn't you do it again?

11:00 am

LOL

11:00 am

11:01 am

see, mine are less weird than some acceptable re words

11:01 am

you should write your own dictionary ;)

11:01 am

I should!

11:04 am

11:47 am

Do most of yours Lckety or some other aid?

11:47 am

There are lot of folks that use Lickety....I think they also use something called morewords, but will defer to others

11:48 am

I use Lickety when I've found as many as I can and then occasionally use bestwordlist .com to look up words I can't figure out with Lickety

11:48 am

under

11:49 am

Thank you for your replies, Moolinga and hokie.

11:50 am

indure

11:51 am

11:53 am

i'm his hype man

11:53 am

she's on retainer

11:54 am

half way on the 7s

11:56 am

I consider moo, ru, & bea superhuman word nerds. maybe you too, molly, since you always have a word when someone asks, but you're so mysterious it's hard to gauge.

11:57 am

Congrats mark!

3:25 pm

I really like them

4:12 pm

an8 is the retention of urine

4:14 pm

an 8 ends with a sibling

4:17 pm

TY

4:17 pm

oh thanks - got the di as well thanks to the clue for the an

howdy again. or as some might say, rehowdy.

4:20 pm

su 8 please?

4:21 pm

su8 basic supplies and goods

su + the princess * (movie with anne hathaway) minus a vowel in the * word

4:21 pm

sorry - have that one, ty -- looking for the first su 8

4:21 pm

di8 clue plz

don't have that one, sorry

4:22 pm

di 8 = urine retention - endis with a sibling

4:22 pm

only have the one :/

thanks, nan

4:24 pm

missing a consonant also carla?

but di8 is increased peeing, an8 is retained.

no, I don't think so, nan

4:25 pm

nm - found it -- was thinking of a different princess movie

it's a plural of an archaic, obsolete word. how did none of us know that!

4:27 pm

got it..ty

4:27 pm

su 7 please? can't see past the sunrise that isn't there

4:27 pm

sunrise is there

don't have one

4:28 pm

can someone clue the pr 8

4:28 pm

oops -- sorry, so it is -- still don't see it though

some people (maybe kardashians) are pr8 than others (regular women)

4:29 pm

pr8 more particular in a girlie way

wow, couldn't see it etiher, nan

4:29 pm

zowie. that's what i get for not trying that. thanks, nan.

4:30 pm

predatory? lmao

not sure y'all use the root adj in UK

4:31 pm

LOL sandr

4:34 pm

de 7/44 please?

4:35 pm

conure, conure, conure - maybe if i type it enough times, it'll take

I think I read earlier the 3rd letter but still didn't find it, nan

4:35 pm

still cant see he pr

4:36 pm

pr 8 is more like a pr 5 (rhymes with the sibling)

it's a more than word of an adj that ends in y, sandr

4:36 pm

de7 = to get rid of magnetism

4:36 pm

always thought conure was a parrot

4:36 pm

I always try that one too

4:37 pm

oh yes -- saw all the magnetised clues earlier, but they didn't help me

4:37 pm

when dinosaurs walked the earth, we would de7 CRT monitors

4:37 pm

conure IS a type of parrot - cute, clowny little guys

4:38 pm

wonder why it doesn't ever take it

I have no idea on this de7. I'm sure it'll all make sense when I actually find it

4:38 pm

just one of those words that didn't make it into the enable list

4:38 pm

saw that clue before too, welki - still not helping

sandr, pr5 rhymes with the p4 that means pee

4:39 pm

what are crt monitors?

in good news, I've finished the bottom R

cathode ray tube if I'm remembering correctly

4:41 pm

https://tinyurl.com/yuymuw68

4:41 pm

please - a dumbed down clue? I really don't know anything that falls within scientific disciplines

4:41 pm

i have the last pr 8 - its the first i am missing i think

4:42 pm

i will use lickety

oh, I only have one

4:44 pm

did they even have crt's when I was in school?

4:45 pm

I'm sure the word we used for the removal of magnetic properties was demagnetise

4:46 pm

does anyone have a clue for the de 7/44 that is something other than a definition -- it is may last word and I don't even have a starting point on this one

4:46 pm

i have it cyber nan

4:47 pm

trying ti think hoe to clue

looks like the CRT was discovered in the late 1800s, first TV with one was 1926? first commercial CRT TVs were in 1934 in Germany. My parents didn't get electricity in their town until 1948.

4:47 pm

Nan, the de7,44 is the painter with an extra vowel and the last letter doubled

thanks, wht!

4:48 pm

de+alternate spelling of wound dressing

4:48 pm

painter beginning with de? -- dancers?

4:48 pm

de 7 is de (unit of measurement of magnetic induction)

4:49 pm

yes!!!!! Thank you sandr *!*~*!*

4:49 pm

That would be the one, nan

nan, you know the canadian show about a junior high? take out the r, add a vowel after the a, and drop the last vowel.

4:50 pm

welcome

well hello during the day, raniqui

4:50 pm

oh sorry - that was wht's clue --- thank you wht :-)

4:51 pm

Hi ~ I'm trying to distract myself from my cranial neuralgia, lol.

4:51 pm

didn't know that show was Canadian -- haven't ever watched it, but have seen it advertised

it's been around forever. I watched it when i was much younger.

yeah, looks like it started when I was in high school

4:53 pm

why is it that the ho hum shows go on forever and the really good ones get cancelled after one or two years?

I don't know

and it looks like there was an earlier show than the junior high one

4:54 pm

what a persnickety grid

4:54 pm

and hi all

4:54 pm

Well, we can watch Hell's Kitchen tonight....

it is persnickety

4:55 pm

hi jbp

and hi

4:55 pm

it was not a very friendly one, for sure

4:55 pm

Hi hi

4:55 pm

would someone like to clue me for the far left U?

4:55 pm

if no clues are needed, I will be on my way wishing you all a good evening

4:55 pm

i bet it's fish slap worthy

there is a un7 that I have and a un5 that's supposedly a pl. from one that comes from the other u

4:56 pm

un 5/14, un 7/40

un7 is what a landlord is not allowed to do right now

4:57 pm

uncovid

4:58 pm

unevict?

hmm...

4:58 pm

the un5 is mostly vowels

oh, that kind of plural

4:58 pm

would hate to see you un7d with your belongings out on the street

4:59 pm

thank you --that is a silly word

4:59 pm

no argument there

4:59 pm

hello friends

4:59 pm

not as silly as the re9

4:59 pm

hey trif

apparently never getting that un5 until I see a list

howdy trif

5:00 pm

26 left and struggling to find the final pr 8

5:00 pm

32 left

69 here

5:00 pm

you need a clue on the pr8 sandr?

5:00 pm

ok, I'll bite, clue for the re9?

5:00 pm

and is till have 9 sevens to find

5:00 pm

re + a 7 letter word that doesn't seem like it should have a re in front of it

re 9 is re + change that jingles in your pocket

5:01 pm

what the mint produces, again?

and what moo said

5:01 pm

hokie, it's a 75% vowel 4 that you need to plural for that u

5:01 pm

its 11pm here - i might have to throw in the towel!

5:01 pm

pr8 is a "more" word

I'm currently working on 4's. still have 11.

5:01 pm

you can do it, sandr!

5:02 pm

bye all

5:02 pm

lol mooling, I totally got the word from that clue, well done you!

5:02 pm

the re+mint is only 6, or am i missing it

bye nan

5:02 pm

lol - thanks for the vote trifioso

5:02 pm

add an ending on it jbp

5:02 pm

yay trif :)

5:02 pm

have all the 4's

5:03 pm

4 more 4s to go

5:03 pm

ohhh, the nu5 that always irritates me is here!

5:03 pm

even lickety isnt helping tonight - and i normally plug into that and get a few more

5:03 pm

nutty?

nuage

5:04 pm

more nu4. how can you be so? You are either nu4 or you are not

5:04 pm

perhaps it's someone who nu4s ;)

like being more pregnant. or more dead.

5:05 pm

heh

5:05 pm

or more unique

5:05 pm

exactly, hokie!

5:05 pm

well you can have deader than last week's stew

5:05 pm

used in a figurative sense

deader than a doornail. not sure what a doornail is or how dead it is.

5:06 pm

holy bat poop, Batman!

5:06 pm

but the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile

5:06 pm

I like using literally in a figurative sense

5:07 pm

which reminds me - if you have netflix, I HIGHLY recommend "The History of swear words" - very, very entertaining and perfect for word nerds!

that's acceptable these days

5:07 pm

no sh4?

5:07 pm

lol mooling, you will LOVE it

the figurative literally, I am referring to

5:08 pm

I am figuratively confused

5:08 pm

:)

my brain is in unuse right now, can't find anything

5:09 pm

ah, hokie, I know that feeling well - I call it "gridlock"

5:09 pm

well it's a good thing I come for the banter here. ;-)

5:09 pm

if you went to a nu6 colony, would you be a conu4?

5:10 pm

if you disarm someone would you degun them?

makes me think of tobias funke, a nevernu4

5:10 pm

I was JUST going to say that, hokie!!!

5:10 pm

I get asked a lot if tobias is my name

5:11 pm

I even tried unuse to see if it was in the grid after you typed it Hokie 🤣

5:11 pm

not been asked whether funke is my name

5:11 pm

for the record, it's not

so you are toby? or people just randomly ask if your name is tobias

5:12 pm

that would be pretty funny

5:12 pm

you kind of look like a tobias...is that your name?

are you an analyst/therapist? (didn't want to raise the ire of people with tobias's real description)

5:13 pm

no, I work in IT

5:13 pm

oh found my last n word

I'm guessing you have no idea what show it is since you don't watch TV.

5:14 pm

if it's the one in the top right, I could use a clue. ;-)

5:14 pm

that would be correct

I still need 2 N words

5:14 pm

well coincidentally my last word started with no...which I had just typed

5:15 pm

and now my last o

well, just make a portmanteau in your head for analyst therapist

5:15 pm

wow - sooo many c's

jbp, top right n is NI4

5:16 pm

oops, almost typed it

oh, just made up 2 c words that took

5:16 pm

thy Carla

5:16 pm

still 7 C's to go...29 over all

67 total. still 11 c's

5:17 pm

6 Cs

ooh, I have the windows open and just heard the owl for the first time in months

5:23 pm

actually 9 C's...not sure what I was doing there

5:23 pm

hoo hoo

5:23 pm

My room is like 82...outside is like 32

have one U from each tile left and I'm assuming it's that combo I can't find.

5:24 pm

75% vowels

hurshy, this was the "who cooks, who cooks for you" type owl.

5:24 pm

you got the u5/14?

67 still here

5:24 pm

and I assume you have two u7s

no, I can't get the un5/14 even though I know it's mostly vowels.

5:25 pm

i am fighting so hard to stay awake, and it is only just dinner time! Just wiped out tired today

5:25 pm

well then maybe you're missing the u4 off the center u, and need to make it plural off the left u

5:25 pm

name that proper noun! czech capital

and I meant 67F outside. I have 65 words left.

5:25 pm

I

5:25 pm

Feels like my week has been like that too Trif

5:26 pm

thank you

that's exactly right, moo. but still can't seem to figure it out.

5:26 pm

had 12 consecutive conference calls yesterday

5:26 pm

it's a babblet

5:26 pm

oh thats just gross mooling

5:27 pm

only 10 consecutive today, though more 1 hour ones

yeah, sounds yucky

we played disc golf with the oldest in this beautiful weather, so that was nice.

5:27 pm

Oh actually I misremembered...Tuesday was the 12 calls, yesrterday was only like 5

5:28 pm

disc golf sounds nice, we have a few courses in town

5:28 pm

hokie, I have only recently learned of this activity! I pass this strange contraption on a front lawn every day to work, and just recently learned it has something to do with disc golf

we used to play a lot before kids and even took them a lot in a jogging stroller but then quit for many years.

5:29 pm

had some friends that did it, and they also played ultimate frisbee nationally

5:29 pm

twas popular at my college

the oldest has gotten into it and I thought winston would love it too, so I got some new discs and have gone out a few times. did not take winston today as I guessed correctly, it was super muddy.

I played ultimate a few times in college but never since

5:30 pm

we've got about 4 inches of snow on the ground thanks to last night, so would be a slog today

finally monkeyed those u's!

5:31 pm

unbelievable

5:31 pm

and now you know what they are :)

5:32 pm

27 left

yeah, I think we're way over on rain totals right now, so even though we've had 3 straight days of sun and 70+ degrees, it was still crazy mud out there.

yeah, will probably never see those u's again

5:32 pm

quite bogly I imagine

5:33 pm

so...if you dig up a grave...you'd disinter right...so if you tipped out the ashes, then you'd disurn

5:34 pm

they seal those things up pretty tight

5:34 pm

probably a good thing

5:34 pm

hahahah i tried disurn as well!

there was one section that they had put down a bunch of gravel and it was sunk down in the mud like it was quicksand or something

not to be confused with discern

5:35 pm

equine tattoos are so obviously horseink

green bananas are underipe

5:36 pm

some of my relatives are kissier than others

5:36 pm

well if you add an r, you'd be grammatically and babbly correct

5:36 pm

oh yeah, my wife's family on her fathers side are cuban...much more kissy

5:37 pm

as opposed to the Northern Wisconsin side

nope, even with the r added it's not on enable

5:37 pm

ah, must've got added later

5:38 pm

do you think global climate change is leading to cause some clouds to derain?

well, I may as well start cooking supper. this is so hard. 62 left.

5:40 pm

still 27

5:40 pm

that C

bruce campbell has a lot of chinage

5:42 pm

help with first co6/24 please

6:42 pm

22 left and in the list...

6:42 pm

6:43 pm

ty pen

6:43 pm

yw...

6:45 pm

Hi all. Back to try to get half way. Doubt i will.

6:45 pm

Any clues for the 9s? I have none of them.

6:45 pm

I am more than half way but it is tough even with the list

6:45 pm

agreed...

6:46 pm

re 9....making metal money again....

6:51 pm

well after one swing through the list, I still have 14 to find...

6:55 pm

still have 52 left. going to do the dishes and then come back to finish

6:55 pm

go pen11

6:56 pm

see you later then...

6:56 pm

I have re 6 that is to make metal money again. But dont see a 9..........

6:59 pm

think of THE making of metal money again....the six has a three letter ending...

7:00 pm

Got it. Great clue pen. Ty.

7:01 pm

I am still missing the two u words for the first column U. Any clues?

7:01 pm

yw...

7:01 pm

un 4 and un 5 (pl)....

7:02 pm

Ty. Is there anyother U in the words?

7:04 pm

yes, for the other U...

7:05 pm

Huh? What i mean is does the un 4 and 5 from that first column u have the other u in the word?

7:06 pm

Never mind just found them. Ty.

7:06 pm

so you want me to give you three out of the four letters?

7:07 pm

good

7:07 pm

That's pretty much the way it goes in this situation. Spoon feeding.

7:08 pm

Sorry about the clues.

7:09 pm

no problem, but i usually don't clue four letter words other than give the stats....they are monkeyable, so to speak...

7:09 pm

I never recall that word before. Sorry.it is an animal and i just didnt know it.

7:09 pm

i think we have had it...didn't know what it was myself....just played around with the letters until one word stuck...

7:13 pm

That is a good way to play this game. Just fool around with the possible letters (I don't use "monkey"...it is so over used) until you find a word.

7:17 pm

though i must cconfess... i have asked for a five letter word to be clued before....when i was at the end of my rope... ;o)

7:17 pm

well i am done....with the help of A 2 Z.....always hope that i might remember a word that i look up... ;o)

7:18 pm

mkg....still here?....got time for one more clue before i go....need anything?

7:19 pm

congrats pen

7:20 pm

thanks, peri....need anything before i go?

7:21 pm

Saint Penquis crushes another one. Blessed be.

7:21 pm

thank you, my child....*blesses*....

7:25 pm

help with de7/44 pls

7:26 pm

hard to clue....de + word that is almost like the word for medical cloth....ends in double consonant...

I think it's a computer term to do with the screen

7:27 pm

hmm thinking

7:27 pm

thank you got it

7:27 pm

has to do with magnetic induction...beyond me... ;o)

7:27 pm

Thought I'd let you all know that LIfelock alerted me that the password and email address I use for this site was found on the dark web in a list scammers use to try on other sites, because people often reuse passwords. I only used that combination on this site but I changed my password anyway. In case the password list for this site has been hacked, you might want to change your password, too, especially if you use the same log-in and password elsewhere. Thanks for all the clues. This lurker appreciates them. Cheers!

7:27 pm

new one for me

7:27 pm

find it, peri?

7:28 pm

thanks, Annette...i changed mine a while ago...don't use it anywhere else....

7:28 pm

yes, I said I got it at 7:27

7:29 pm

oh....guess i was typing when it appeared...

7:29 pm

gotta go...have a lot of work to do on the Spelling Bee and haven't started the crossword....goodnight all....

7:29 pm

the medical cloth helped me find it

7:30 pm

This site is not secure. It is beyond me why people still post their email addresses in their profiles.

7:30 pm

nite pen
