I hear you, but he also tried to change for her. Like I said, awful message. When it came out I was in high school, and already knew about the Broadway show that spawned the movie. Most of my friends immediately understood the satire and parody, but by my daughter's generation, it was lost on them and they took it more seriously. Today I think it's seen more as a romanticized view of the late 50's - early 60's.
