7:32 am

I have a Peeps addiction

7:33 am

I have always wondered about why people like Peeps. Why not just sit down with a bowl of sugar and a spoonh?

7:33 am

wouldn't be the same without the marshmallow

7:33 am

good morning.. first two columns greyed

well la-di-da :D

morning, ru!

8:07 am

Good morning, ru.

Bea, did y'all have any storms?

8:10 am

No, but it looks and feels like we could at any time.

8:11 am

You?

we had one when I was going to sleep and mr. homie said he thought there was more through the night.

We got a ton of rain for several hours. Sadly my rain gauge is cracked again, but the street was flooded for a long time. and the street is lined with cherry trees that are in bloom, so now we have a yard full of those from them draining down. I was very confused when I first looked out.

8:15 am

If we do get a storm, I hope it doesn't harm my tulips.

me too! do you have a lot?

8:16 am

Yes. I planted about 50 in the fall. Daffs are up and in full bloom. I have hundreds of those.

8:17 am

i really like daffodils have some in my dining room right now

8:17 am

They are one of my favorites.

yeah, I saw some daffodils or jonquils a few weeks ago here. I never planted any bulbs here. At my first house I planted a bunch from my grandmother, and I took some to my next house, and then brought some here and they stayed in my garage fridge for years before I threw them out.

8:18 am

carla, Bea, do you have crepe myrtles?

8:19 am

I don't have any.

we did, but cut them all down. they had aphids that would return every year and we could not get rid of them, even with pro help. they drop black crap all over everything.

there's still one down outside the pool gate and it still turns black every summer

8:20 am

When visting in laws in Richmond, I always admired them

8:20 am

They are lovely when they are in bloom. But they are a messy tree.

8:21 am

those were crap myrtles hokie

they are pretty, and I see neighbors' trees without the aphids so I don't know how we got the aphids and they didn't.

so true, ru

8:21 am

And it's crepe murder when they cut them back every year.

yeah, they're not supposed to be done that way but all the landscapers do

8:23 am

We get our first 80-degree day of the year today. But damaging winds will put a negative spin on that.

only supposed to be 78 here. 68 right now.

oh, the humanity - 33 A;s on one

8:28 am

I knew you would love all the A's today

8:29 am

9:22 am

It is the sound people make when they have read too many anagrams

9:23 am

(listens to three hundred hail mary's)

9:23 am

*Hears the tea cups clattering

I'm sure ruru will remember this one in the future with context so I don't cause a ruckus.

but he will probably ask again what it means just to get me in trouble ;)

9:25 am

I'm thinkin' about it

9:25 am

hokie has a firm grip on the grid

9:25 am

What does it mean?

not really, falling kind of flat here

9:26 am

you've always had good spidey-sense :)

10:10 am

sometimes . . . hahaha

10:11 am

I was slow to twig to he who shall not be called by his troll name

10:11 am

chalk it up to your good nature

10:11 am

hahaha

10:12 am

so how's the snowy north?

10:12 am

still snowy, still north - very busy here, trying to empty the house to downsize

10:13 am

March is going out like a lion here with sunny skies and ferocious winds

10:13 am

oh where are you moving to?

10:13 am

I have to keep putting my mail for the carrier back up on my door. . . .

10:13 am

we have a little place about 1.5 north - very small, so can't bring much

10:14 am

wind keeps blowing it off

10:14 am

rural?

10:15 am

sort of - in the middle of nowhere, but in a development, golf, lake

10:16 am

the other half is retiring the end of april; looking forward to having him around full time

10:16 am

can you fish the lake?

hello

10:16 am

hi TO!

you mentioned fishing and i caught one in the grid

10:17 am

TO! long time no see

10:17 am

oh yes, we keep our boat docked during the summer - would be nice to take it to other lakes, or even just take the flyfishing stuff for some back-country fishing

10:17 am

owl :)

welk.

10:18 am

I am sitting here giggling imagining each of you briskly nodding to each other. . . .

hey all i have given up chat for lent, but could not resist with all the old heads here this AM

10:18 am

trying to figure out finances is making me more than a little crazy (crazier)

JMC

10:18 am

10:18 am

10:19 am

10:19 am

10:19 am

10:19 am

now you have something to repent, owl

well, it will have to get in line.

10:20 am

hahahaha

still havve tickets for the Nats?

10:20 am

I repent very little in life. regret more

10:20 am

hahaha - jm and i may be two of the only babblers who have slept together *LOLOL*

10:21 am

I have some for April. . . .had to cut number of games because my section is closed for the social distance seating

OMG imagine the three of us together

much jd consumed

10:22 am

Well y'all can come down here. . . my back is acting up and a long drive is not in the cards for me for a while

10:22 am

yes, there was some :D

just a wee bit

well this must be hard on you, having to stay put.

10:22 am

Oh well, so much for the Lenten Chat Fast. Dominus vobiscum

10:23 am

10:23 am

first road trip for us will be to go see the kids - hoping late summer/early fall

10:23 am

hi Molls did you give up chat for lent too?!

10:23 am

yeah, the medicinal value of jd cannot be underestimated

10:23 am

well you will be almost here welk and across the river from TO

10:24 am

our best vacation was in d.c. - wouldn't be hard to steer the car south

yes and though id on;t know what it means, i am vaccinated.

10:24 am

No, I don't give things up for Lent. I was just commenting on what TO said.

10:24 am

I stopped giving up things for Lent when I had to give up gluten. already a hard enough sacrifice ;)

10:24 am

we having our first shots on sunday

10:25 am

I don't believe God wants us to be miserable

i am focused on doing.

10:25 am

had mine yesterday. only a sore arm today. can't wait for the 2nd one.

10:25 am

and congrats on being fully vaccinated, owl - like you said, not sure what it means, but it's got to give you some relief

10:25 am

I gave up sugar in my tea for lent once and then I thought. that's nuts just to do it for 40 days and never drank sugar in my tead agin

10:25 am

I remember when I was a kid I gave up "Leave It To Beaver" for Lent. Hahahaha!

10:25 am

I have both jabs too

the washer has stopped. must attend.

10:26 am

woot woot, jm!

10:26 am

I gave up cokes once and lost a lot of weight

10:26 am

I am sure what it means. . . a light at the end of the tunnel

and much chat time cut into time i could be doing, like food pantry

10:26 am

COVID Phase 2: When the conversation turned to who has been jabbed and how many times.

10:27 am

lol

good for yoi, welk.

10:27 am

haha yes that is a frequently point of conversation these days

10:27 am

NC bumped up everyone to April 7, so hopefully mr. homie will get his soon and then we'll be all done.

10:27 am

If I gave up JD I would probably lose weight

10:27 am

There should be t-shirts I GOT JABBED!!!

a friend was complaining she did not want to hear any more about vaccination, when it was a full time job to fins one. i gave HEr up for lent

10:28 am

although the one time I really lost a lot was in Kenya where there is no cheese and very little meat

10:28 am

there are Molls

10:28 am

no cheese! what is there to live for?

10:28 am

I have to take my mom in for a covid test next week even though she has had both vacs.

10:28 am

okay, i have to get some things sorted out here - sold a couple of mission oak rockers last night, now the buyers want some of my pottery. have to figure out a fair price

10:28 am

I am in no hurry to get vaccinated.

10:28 am

was she exposed, bea?

10:29 am

Why Bea?

10:29 am

bye welki!

10:29 am

that's what I though HArry. . . .

10:29 am

agree, Harry, cheese makes everything better

10:29 am

She is having some tests. SOP, right now.

bye welk and bye all

10:29 am

10:29 am

bye for now

10:29 am

bye TO! see you after Easter.

10:30 am

Ah, I see, bea

10:30 am

yeah I would probably lose more giving up cheese than JD in spite of my reputation

10:30 am

why is there a pancake on that bunnys head?

10:30 am

silly question, I know

10:30 am

Yeah, my sister had to have a COVID test before her post-chemotherapy check-up. She said the COVID test is awful.

10:30 am

have you never seen pancakes on bunnies' heads on the internet before? it used to be a thing.

10:30 am

adorable

10:31 am

it's been there for years.

10:31 am

the pancake or the picture?

10:31 am

I keep waiting for it to fall

10:31 am

I guess I missed that trend. Was it before or after killer clowns?

10:31 am

I think the classic answer to your question Harry is "why not"? (Not that I get it)

10:31 am

Right around the time of the dancing baby

10:32 am

oh that's ancient molly

10:32 am

And the hamster dance

10:32 am

Carla, did you get the cat sound today?

10:32 am

before killer clowns. . . . right now it's the kitten lawyer

10:32 am

10:33 am

10:34 am

10:34 am

10:34 am

manticle should be a word.

10:34 am

yes - I do know ppl with aol addresses :)

10:34 am

I like the banana and the bunny with the toy bunny with a pancake on it head sitting on the pancake

10:35 am

10:35 am

Those AOL people probably still use MySpace

10:35 am

OK time to go get muffins - bye!

12:06 pm

well i found ce7 and 8 but that still leaves 7 more C words

12:07 pm

is ai 7 a compound word?

12:07 pm

hurshy you have more c words theni do

12:08 pm

I just need 3 C's

12:09 pm

12:10 pm

12:16 pm

thanks, that gets me down to five

12:16 pm

it's like a costa rican penny

12:16 pm

c lanire

12:16 pm

those were the pair i found first lol

12:17 pm

well, the other was clued here earlier

12:17 pm

i must have been off working

12:17 pm

grrr -- cannot find that cl 7

12:18 pm

there's a cl7?

12:18 pm

is that ci or CL? can't tell

12:18 pm

yes -- following the scottish family

12:19 pm

in either case it must be my last C

12:19 pm

i have an 8...

12:19 pm

aha, got it

12:19 pm

point total, nan?

12:20 pm

it rhymes with toms, dicks, and ______

12:20 pm

got it, but thanks anyway :D

12:20 pm

12:20 pm

12:25 pm

i just need one more N to grey the second column

12:27 pm

i found it!!!! na7, miracle that i monkeyed it

12:27 pm

I need 1 N and 1 E for that

12:27 pm

hmmm

12:27 pm

maybe you need en7 an adjective that is built off the 6 before it

12:28 pm

nope, have that

12:28 pm

maybe you need the one that is like the seinfeld lady

12:29 pm

I guess so. stat?

12:29 pm

el 5 x3, carla

ty for the seinfeld lady

12:30 pm

hahaha

12:30 pm

just need one, nan, so the el's must be from other e

12:30 pm

maybe you need the cream of the crop

12:31 pm

oh, the main character? that's upper e

12:31 pm

el's are from the 2nd col

12:31 pm

it is cream of the crop. I thought that was just a phatom all morning

12:31 pm

except for the one that is almost a girl's name

12:31 pm

the cream of the crop is 2nd col but she's right, the others are upper E

12:31 pm

nope, just one el from 2nd col

12:32 pm

now that na7...

12:32 pm

got it! and almost typed it here accidentally

12:32 pm

the U seems rather hopeless

12:33 pm

oh there are some odd ones

12:33 pm

still 4 to go on that tho

12:34 pm

I have 6 u's left

12:34 pm

then maybe you need the odd pair that i just found lol

12:34 pm

un5/14 and an adj to accompany it

12:35 pm

have the 4/7 set from the other day, the kin, dark, and someone on a computer

12:36 pm

idk what is the 4/7 set from the other day

12:37 pm

there is also a vacant rental

12:38 pm

do you mean a 4 that is 7 points, or a 4 that has a 7 that goes with it?

12:38 pm

cause i canNOT see a way to make a 4 that has 7 points

12:40 pm

a 4 extended to a 7, no idea if they're actually related

12:40 pm

ahh, ty

12:40 pm

un4/6 and un7/36

12:40 pm

well take out the 7

12:40 pm

sigh

12:41 pm

12:43 pm

could make a few with a D nearby

12:46 pm

just found 3 easy e's that were evading me earlier

12:48 pm

need 1 A from first col. - I think maybe nan was talking about a set earlier that had one from there and one from the other A?

12:49 pm

yeah, an5 and 6

12:49 pm

but my last left A was very very old

12:50 pm

hurshy, have you read the Lost Apothecary? I just listened to it, I think you might enjoy it.

12:50 pm

i have not

12:51 pm

ok, which A had the 5 and which the 6? I only have one an5 and can't make a 6 from the other

12:51 pm

left 5, right 6

12:52 pm

Peri I finished the Queens Gambit and liked it but was bored with the endless matches and moves. How about you?

1:37 pm

I liked the whole thing

1:38 pm

My library has the book the movie is base on. Thanks for telling me about it. I put it on hold for my kindle

1:38 pm

I dont play chess so maybe that is why the matches seemed so tedious. But I play bridge and love it.

1:38 pm

I don't play chess or bridge

1:39 pm

I did not think I would like the movie.

1:42 pm

Yean, I'll clean up this 224 on a few minutes. I like big grids. Because they have surprises, and I don't feel I have to finish them, just meditate on them

2:50 pm

I like all the grids for different reason, but it is nice to have some big ones

2:50 pm

182 to go

81 and partly cloudy but when I was out it was 81 and all sun

2:59 pm

50s and cloudy here right now

I have 56 left but reached a wall at like 74 and have just been getting words from the chat

2:59 pm

102 left

3:00 pm

still have 12x7,6x8 and 2x9 remaining tho

13 4s I could look for

3:00 pm

only 26x4 left

3:15 pm

aren't some castles moatier than others?

yes, of course. I think I tried that earlier convinced I was onto something.

3:16 pm

55 to go

also 55. very slow going.

3:16 pm

52 now

3:16 pm

still lacking on the big words tho

you probably found words while I was typing. yes, you did.

3:17 pm

have found just one 7

3:17 pm

since I posted the stats before

3:17 pm

and only 13x4 remaining now

I have 14, but it's untelling how many I found on my own

14 7's that is, have only found 1 more 4, so 12 left

3:18 pm

yeah, I have 8x7 so far

3:20 pm

celeria - a store or stall specializing in celery

3:22 pm

oh, found my second 8 finally...50 to go

3:23 pm

3:23 pm

yeah, I have 3 left but that was with hurshy's help earlier. I think I found 6 on my own

maybe 5

hey, found a 4!

3:35 pm

3:36 pm

3:37 pm

well there is a 5 and a 6 on there

3:38 pm

ah, finished the A33

I have a 4 and a 6

3:38 pm

then you need a 4 and a 5

2 now

3:39 pm

on the 5...we often have the plural form, which is only 4 letters :)

3:39 pm

on the 4 it's easy to miss because we don't typically think of looking at the final letter

hmm, you might have to tell me the 2nd letters

3:40 pm

it's the same for both, which is different from the ones you have

nm on the 4

ok, got both, thx

3:41 pm

I did try the pl form just in case a few times earlier :D

Sheesh at the obvious ones I miss! I must be getting into eye overload, lol.

I am down to 34 now. struggling to stay awake.

4:14 pm

4:42 pm

At least 17 hours it has been in the grid for so yes it is old haha!

4:43 pm

We are on fire today, Hokie!

4:44 pm

Finally found my last N

I still need one N from the right

4:48 pm

I always try both versions of that babblet, Penquis haha!

4:49 pm

4:50 pm

ooo....no, i have all of those Ns....

4:50 pm

For me it was the NA 7/32.

4:51 pm

4:54 pm

4:54 pm

Nice!

I've been missing the na4 babblets a lot lately, so I tried them earlier today.

4:56 pm

I have the un 4, 5,and 6 but cannot get the last letter for the 7

4:57 pm

Sorry, Hokie beat me to it again lol

5:46 pm

5:47 pm

5:50 pm

I hate it when I miss common words. Of course I miss tons of them every day.

5:56 pm

Yep! I constantly "Doh!"... My husband will stand behind me for a few minutes and suggest words (that I know I've already gotten but didn't) so now I enter everything he suggests, lol.

5:59 pm

lol

ugh, missed both ways our skies are not dark

6:02 pm

those, I'm proud to say, I found, lol.

well done

now down to 4 TR

6:04 pm

I always kick myself on the 4 letter words where the same letters make multiple words. I do dumb stuff like forgetting to reverse the two center vowels or, really, any two letters... *rolls eyes*

well, you shouldn't kick yourself, we all do it

6:05 pm

me too. I've been known to get desktops but not desk or tops.

6:05 pm

yeah... at least I "Doh!" more than kick, lol.

yep

well, glad that's over. looked up the last one - 3 of our nashville player

6:11 pm

congrats....

6:11 pm

yay! I'm past my 2/3 point but am still trying to not use list, yet.

6:13 pm

LOL @ Joy! Yes! I've done that a number of times today! Get the longer word but not the short one contained w/in! Dur!

6:15 pm

I got the fish early on but the soldier was w/in the last 25 or so, lol.

6:15 pm

Dur!

Enable doesn't accept hitman???

6:17 pm

and I've had the car but not the bean. Ok, I'll stop sharing my blindness...

6:18 pm

I think it's considered 2 words.

6:18 pm

But why it will take adman/admen I know not.

titman yes, but not hitman

6:19 pm

Right??

gotta love Enable :-(

6:20 pm

Yeah, not so much... lol

yeah, I just complained about hitman/hitmen the other day but didn't even notice it today. all the ridiculous man/men words on enable and not a real one!

6:25 pm

hello friends. Wow, a big fattie!

hello Trifi

6:26 pm

I can't seem to get the NA7 even though I'm sure of the first four letters. You'd think I could find 3 more.

6:26 pm

hello! Wow, it's a been a good while since we have been on at the same time, what a treat to "see" you!

6:27 pm

i still need a valid link to Enable please.

na 7 add what you steer a horse with minus the 1st letter to the 4 letters you arleady know, joy

6:28 pm

is there such a thing?

6:28 pm

yes, the list I used to have was put togrther by a babbler.

I just googled it "Enable word list" and came up with several sites. I hesitate to copy link into chat because I don't know how to tiny urls

6:30 pm

thanks for the na7 Luv!

6:30 pm

All the Google sites are not the one I had. It was in a spreadsheet format.

Sorry Rain, I don't have that one

6:31 pm

Thanks anyway, I just wish I could remember the man's name who put it together. I think there was a link on his profile page.

6:32 pm

Is there a list of all Babblers ?

I guess you could look at the rankings, that would probably list them all

6:34 pm

Thanks, Luv. I'd swear I tried that already, but I guess not

6:34 pm

ok, I'll try that, thanks

6:38 pm

too many phantoms today!

Just heard that Beverly Cleary passed away at age 104. I enjoyed so many of her books.

6:39 pm

Oh no. I love her. Of course 104 is a pretty ripe old age to say the least.

yes for sure

6:41 pm

a very sad loss indeed.....Ramona was a beloved childhood friend, as was the mouse that rode the motorcycle.

yes, she had some great characters

6:41 pm

Could I have a clue for the x please?

6:41 pm

Oh, wow! 104! I loved her books… that's a sad loss but she left behind a great legacy.

6:42 pm

6:47 pm

Hi Luv. How is your fur baby?

6:48 pm

Try not to move on from letters until they’re half done. Got 3 u’s. how can there be another 9!

hi peach, she's doing good now, recovered from a back injury that I don't know how she got. How about your fur baby?

6:51 pm

She has a heart murmur and has to take meds twice per day for the rest of her life......think she's about eleven now....she is a rescue but I've had her most of her life. Please say a prayer for her and I will certainly say one for yours. Give her a hug from me.

thanks! Sorry to hear, I will keep her in my thoughts. They are a part of the family that's for sure

6:53 pm

Thank you.

My Maggie was a rescue dog too. I had to drive from Michigan to Ohio to get her but I'm grateful for her everyday

6:57 pm

Oh, I'm sure you are.....she's a love.

8 left and will have to go the A to Z for the remainder

6:58 pm

You will get there.

7:01 pm

even with A to Z I can't seem to find the 2nd un 6/24, clue please?

7:08 pm

huzzah for luv!

7:09 pm

i think i need to go BACK to bed...loll. *WTG*

Well at least it wasn't another typo! My tablet kept auto correcting WTG to WTF. I no longer use my tablet to Babble! LOL

7:10 pm

Well, grannyrose, at least you used H not an earlier consonant!

7:11 pm

im really flagging. I hope to make it to halfway, but there is no tired like friday teacher tired....

ugh, good luck Trif, I'm heading out. Good "seeing" everyone

7:12 pm

take care Luv

7:12 pm

freep ! i did that once before. using a K instead of a J. it was very embarrassing. i even made ruru laugh.

7:15 pm

i don't have anything bigger than a seven. what a shame to have no brain on a big grid day

7:16 pm

Oh, I disagree. Those of us who work other jobs know all about Friday tired. It's not exclusive to teachers.

7:16 pm

an8 sounds like the response to a question, without the w

7:18 pm

ha! thank you!

7:19 pm

Ru, LOVE the new icon.

7:20 pm

fortunately, only a few vocations contain, physical, emotional, psychological, and mental stress. each and every time when worked.

7:20 pm

agreed, granny - you speak very wisely

7:22 pm

of course, the challenge of a job like that is being able to arise above it all. the adrenaline released while working does give a special kind of tiredness when levels start to lower.

7:22 pm

I can assure you that my work is stress 40 hours a week. Friday is the best day of my week. Also the one where I feel the most worn out.

7:24 pm

then welcome to the club Molly. i can truly empathise with you.

7:26 pm

I take fridays off now so that I don't have the stress

7:26 pm

i once laughed at some-one who said people who work these jobs are adrenaline addicted. i now know quite differently. and it is very hard to break the cycle and continue to work. one of the reasons i am glad i am retired.

7:28 pm

glad you like the icon molly.. cracked me up too

7:30 pm

will return at the flip. i really must look like i care about the chores waiting to be done. frankly, i don't. not at the moment anyway. the last few years have taught me a lot about letting go, and not worry about what other people think of me. xx

7:30 pm

hey..it's your birthday.. screw the chores

hi all, diving in, weeeeee!

8:14 pm

i've done all kinds of jobs, but excelled at very dangerous and taxing jobs. needless to say i can predict rain up to 3 days in advance regardless of weather prediction. im not quite 40, non traditional student. gotta use the noggin. ;-)

8:15 pm

anyone have a clue for the xe 5?

i'm stuck at theletter E, don't have the X yet

8:18 pm

xe5 sounds like it could be referring to nothing.

8:19 pm

Gwen, ec6,21 is something you might see in the PB.

I'm back. M's mangled. Only 67 left

10:44 pm

huh. 37 left here and 10 of them are Ms

10:48 pm

i was reading a compilation of horrible things people thought about naming their babies and La7 was one of them. the nurse literally had to explain to the new mother what a la7 in order to get her not to name her baby that.

La7 as a baby name? ohhhh

10:49 pm

yeah...

10:50 pm

luckily she WAS talked out of it!

10:53 pm

OMG could you imagine a child with that name? Yikes.

My friend's parents were going to name him Anal. In Hindi it has a different pronunciation and means Fire. Lucky for him, they didn't

10:53 pm

i encountered a child whose last name was Money and her parents named her Stoelynn. when i saw it i was just like, "you did not do that to your child!"

10:56 pm

I need help w/ the TR7 plz

10:56 pm

you wouldn't think you could plural the tr6 because you'd think it is an adjective applied to the Christian God

10:56 pm

yet somehow, you can

10:57 pm

thanks hurshy

11:04 pm

how about se7?

se7/32 - ***** rhymes with Mrs Keller + most of solid water

11:06 pm

you mean Ms. i suppose ;)

11:06 pm

thank you

yeah Ms.

11:09 pm

i explained the various forms to my elementary students. i said, there was once a time when people thought that the most important thing to know about a woman was whether or not she was married, so married women were Mrs. and unmarried women were Miss. but all men were Mr. and then people started to think that was ridiculous, and that women should have a term that all can use, since that is NOT the most important thing to know about a woman, so they came up with Ms.

11:10 pm

and my students were all like, yeah, that IS pretty ridiculous

11:16 pm

ok, two left. so6 and us6

11:18 pm

and this is where we thank goodness for morewords

11:18 pm

11:32 pm

11:40 pm

found the SE7!

11:40 pm

Plzplz someone give me a clue for the second UN6,24. Arrghhh

11:41 pm

OMG I just saw it and it's SO obvious, a plural of the UN5 that I have. Yikes. But FW finally.

2nd un 6/24 is not aunties... or are you looking for the 3rd one?

oh ok. you got it

11:45 pm

I was just being dumb about the UN6,24. Didn't notice that I could make it plural.
