Sorry, I don't get these made up words that have evolved on internet-speak. I like to converse in real words. Call me attached to grammar and such.

And sadly, there are far too many people who use these odd, made up words in the workplace. You should see the resumes I have reviewed.
Yeah, I used to be but I was ticking people off for correcting them for not using proper grammar and getting bitched at so I said screw it.
The fact that those words have become commonly used makes some people think they are appropriate.
They would argue that language is ever-changing. I gave up with impact as a verb. Then I realized that contact was not originally a verb either.
Anything work related, proper English/grammar.
There are two ethics, one being call people what they want to be called, and the other is no way will I call an individual person "they."
Then I remember how my mother felt about "Ms."

No, I refused. My mom was K-12, mostly 2nd, then 3rd and finishing out with 6th. She shanghaied me into checking/grading her students homework when I was about seven... Uh, no. Not my gig... but I remember when I was around four years old, "new" people would pat me on the head and ask "Are you going to be a teacher like your mother?" *rolls eyes* Uh, no.

My mom retired about 18 years before she passed, so at least she had that time... but back in the day the trend was to pass kids who were "only going to drive a pulp wood truck for the rest of their lives like the rest of the family, just get them along far enough to let them be old enough to quit school without truancy because that's what's coming." I was aghast initially but once I mulled that over, she was right. She would have been taking away from the other students had she focused on one child.

She started teaching when I was three (welcome to pre-school Amy) in MI, we moved to S MS (where she was born) when I was 15/Freshman. So I'd have to say around 1982ish before administration wanted to start cookie cutting teachers. And I have to add that she got the defeatist attitude from the other teachers around her. Our school was a 1st-12th consolidated (one campus). My class had 80 graduates and was the last to walk the football field for graduation. (Yes, we didn't even have kindergarten back then)
She actually was a student teacher in one of my brother's middle school classes when pregnant with me, lol.

Ok, my mom got her Masters in Education in the 40s, taught till she had my brother and me in the 50s, went back to teaching (second highest score in New York licensing exam) in the late 60s, got cancer, taught through the 70s, and through her final illness in the 80s when she was 60. New York City public school system, very diverse before it was in style. A dedicated teacher. Short life.
Ah, but she left a prolific legacy! (As did mine, she chose to retire the year before my son went into 6th grade so she wouldn't have him as a student, lol.) She passed at 80 from complications of dementia... She got her degree in the late 60s, student teaching ''64/'65 ish, me three in pre-school, so '68 when she started her own classrooms... Guess she retired around '93/'94.
I have an M. Ed. The only course I ever dropped was student teaching.
I'm a retired 3rd grade teacher. Subbed after that for 9 years, but not during covid. Don't think I want to start back again. I enjoyed it. But I enjoyed visiting grands much more!
