Yes, May was unseasonably cold but it is warming up now. Farmers here look forward to 'growthy' weather when it gets warmer but with the occasional shower to get the grass etc growing.

We should hit our Summer pattern of 90-100 degrees and no rain for 3 months. The lake was higher a few years ago when the remnants of a tropical system came up

Just home from getting my second Pfizer shot. Boy, am I grateful. It’s been a long 15 months. I cried as the doc jabbed me - not because it hurt, just because it felt as if there is actually light at the end of this dark dreary tunnel. I’m a happy Babbler right now. 🤗

congrats, soodle. I got my second shot in April but we're still mostly staying home because my daughter wasn't eligible until a few weeks ago. But it's reduced so much of my anxiety, and enabled me to visit my dad, and go to restaurants.
got my second one 3/19/2021 still mostly a homebody as I have so many health issues but it does give peace of mind I should not get it a second time

Oh, I think it will be many a long day before I stop wearing a mask, sanitizing my hands & avoiding large groups of people, but it’s a step in the right direction. My Dad died in 2018 & my Mam died in 2019. Both would have struggled hugely with the restrictions etc. It must be very difficult gor you & your Dad, Joy.
Oh, it was awful not seeing my dad. He's 86, so he's not going to be here forever. It's the longest I've gone my whole life without seeing him. Fortunately, that's over.
And I agree about the masks. I take the bus to work and I'll be wearing a mask on it from now on.
Happy you are OK Cherylq. This ‘long-covid’ can be an absolute nightmare. A cousin of mine, aged 49, non smoker, thin as a whip, fit as a fiddle, has huge cardiac problems following covid. Latest news is he needs heart surgery.
I have a friend whose kids (6 of them!) all got covid, and one of them has long-covid and is in pain all the time. Poor little girl is only about 12 years old.
This God-awful pandemic is going to have repercussions on individuals, families, communities, countries & continents for many years to come. (Mutters under her breath ...... they can put a man on the moon, invent the internet, harness wind-power, but a seemingly simple virus can cause chaos to us....) I’ll stop ranting now & revert to gratitude that I’ve been vaccinated!
