Hi, Welk
morning
hi greyhound, owl
Hi, TO
Good morning, friends.
my neighbor has a beautiful italian greyhound (and a whippet)
hi bea
phantom: netsuke
and unitard
remember in the 70s, we would wear danskins?
PB, for Owl
enjoy the DO 5/14s in there : )
nah, not worthy of the pb - it was used as a prefix, not as a function of measurement *lol*
but, do6!
ok, off to the pb - your choice :)
and mimosas!
deciding what to do today. weather is iffy.
virgin caesar for me, make it spicy, please
i think all the bartenders have quit babbling.
and the cabana boys :(
no Mimosas before 8am here
replaced by gilded eunuchs
*picturing golden men in turbans*
...and loincloths, don't forget the loincloths
o.0
loincloths for Eunuchs?
well, sure - they still have some bits left
don't know how you know that-dont wanna know lol!
she reads a lot. ;)
must be way in the back of the library
all the way in the back - a little dusty, but filled with a wealth of useless information
on the flip side of the coin, in his day, yul brynner could sport the look just fine
(no turban, though, owl - the bald head was beeyootiful)
He was a hunk.
so let it be done!
i dont have do 5/16 so no idea what u are talking about?
critters are calling - bbl
hi welk

ho own
You probably eat them for breakfast sometimes.

*Wonders if anyone really rolls on the floor laughing their ass off
i; didnt create it i just learned the saying or rotflmao
i didn't see that do 6 until my eyes glazed over
and now i want do6. but need to decide if i am going to Nj later today. later.
happy babbling
NJ is my Motherland
mine, too. bergen county. but going to lambertville perhaps, howell farm
Ru, have you ever had halloumi?
no.. not that I'm aware of.. what is it?
Union County for me. Have good friends not far from Lambertville in Bucks County PA
Halloumi soft cheese yes?
It's cheese that is grilled or fried in a skillet.
if it's a cheese I've had it
i belong to a social group there. and we have babblers near there.
nj was my step-motherland, ny holding the motherland position :)
(sussex county)
sussex is growing so fast, it's a shame.
It's a semisoft cheese. Similar to paneer and feta.
I think NJ is the most populated state.
it's so beautiful. looking forward to crawfish festvial in the fall.
i love feta and really like paneer
I love French Feta the best
we had the greatest county fair, complete with a crowned 'swine queen' LOLOL
yes and very misunderstood. has lots of natural beauty.
swine queen?
mmmmmm, paneer
What an honor Welki!
lol the fairgrounds near newton
Temple Owl, I agree
I've never met a cheese I didn't like.
yep, it was an agricultural community, the kids raised livestock, including pigs
BzznBea ever met the cheese that has live maggots in it (Italy)?
oh man, i am here trying to dave my calories for the farm. they will e churning their own ice cream today.
Casu martzu from Sardinia
Camembert is the only one I don't care for..
the road in to there is still lovely, old houses. in winter i imagine very desolate.
Well, I don't want to eat maggots.
the last house i lived in there was built in 1840
low calorie, high protein
well i will be at that festival unless there is a virus issue in nj or ny. they run buses directly from the city up there.
if you've ever traveled through nj to dingman's ferry, pa, my house was right across the street from the layton general store
I"ve never really been to NJ other than the airport and Hoboken
i was never there, but my uncle hunted near there. you were waaaaay up there!
because NJ is so small, everything is packed together, so seems so very industrial. but lovely rural and scenic areas.
I always seem to meet Doren in NYC.. so never made it out to her place in NJ
can go from beach to mountains in a couple of hours.
and farms and forests
that sounds like here too.
her area is very nice.
feta cheese is one of my favorite cheeses
fan, i recently had a watermelon mint feta salad with a twist. the chunks of feta on top were sprinkled with tajin. it was lovely.
what is tarjin?
that's great combo.. i do a variation of that with Cantaloupe and pickled fennel, mint, basil oil and feta, with anise leaves
mexican seasoning. chili lime
eww no thanks i am not iinto too much spicy stuff
nor am i, but it works with the cool watermelon. it's just a hint; there was not much feta in this one
and since it was on top, you could control how much you took. a nice easy keeper for a picnic or pot luck
you should have asked them to put more feta on it
i am also not a fan of watermelon
well then, this dish is not for you. i love watermelon.
more for you too eat all by yourselfðŸ‘
I love watermelon too. Unfortunately, my tummy can't tolerate very much.
ru that is interesting. i love fennel in all forms. i think it's an acquired taste. recently had it roasted, loverly
yes i have heard that about melon's being roasted
i brought it to thanksgiving once. my brother and i were the only ones eating it. with a big meal we always had a digestivo
are either of the In words common?
Yes. In the grid all the time.
1st 4 letters are the same
ok, the sun is peeking out and i need to decide what i am doing today, if anything. happy babbling
got one of them
may i have a clue for the in 6 that doesnt end in r pls/

hello all. not seeing any of the 7s or 8s even tho I have first two letters
Hi Peri - Lots of them use the t + particle suffix
ty Ig got the fa7/8

ty IG got them all. pa7/8 were new to me

my scrabble dictionary def. is unlucky for the do5/16
I am more familiar with the Scot/unlucky meaning
Ive also got neat & trim from Google
when I clicked on the word here it gives both definitions
yeah, yours is the more common, Molly
not liking this grid going to read for a while
Bye Peri - Beg to differ, I loved this grid!
has been good -- finding it difficult finding that one missing word now though
So-you want a clue?
will work away at it a bit longer, ty IG
morning all!
hi dan
very rare for me to finish the 7's and 8's before anything else - might be a quick finish?
still missing k x2. Have ke x2, kh x5 and ky x3 -- missing?
Hey Dan!!
sorry ke x 3
dan didnt a storm of some kind hit dc or md yesterday?
k words done
Hi, Dan - This grid went way to fast for me
what are my missing two, mlf?
Thursday night we had heavy t-storms with two short-lived tornados spotted
yikes..how far from you were the tornadoes?
it was intense but we were unaffected. some branches down in the neighborhood, but the heavy stuff passed north of us
cyber are you looking for ke or kh words?
don't know -- have ke x 3, kh x5 and ky x 3 -- still missing 2 k's

there is only one li 5 and it is a plural
no li 4/5 i have is a pl
i need the other li 4/5 but not seeing it yet
there is one li 4/5 and one li 4/4 with a plural 5/10
there is also one li 4/5 that is a plural
teh two li4/5 use the same letters
ty dose and hello
sorfry that is incorrect
yeah that does not make sense
my 4 letter 4/5 is a pl
not everyone uses the x/p to indicate letters and points, so I wasn't sure what you were asking
np cyber
then you are missing another 4/5
if it were two words i would have said 4 and
cyber yes that is what i am looking for havent found it yet
it's a name of a deck on a cruise ship

hi pen
good morning all.
any clues wanted before I leave?
today's goal is to complete the grid without listing
too early for me, thanks....
a clue for the second row I?
or the first row E's?
good luck joy
the Es are the needle case...
id4
I'm gonna need it, ML!
thought about that joy - I was close, but rather than ask everyone to figure out what I'm missing, I might as well just list -- it's the same thing when you get down to it
i needed some help too and am using the list
Oh, right, forgot to look at the D, of course it's an ID
joy i am usually going to the right to find most words lol
Yeh, that's the choice -- list, or bug everyone in the chat. Maybe I should list. Hmmmmmmm
io 4, io 5-6, in 6 x2
hagd everyone
got all the I's, but I could use some stats for that top row E.
bey cyber
et 4 and 5
et 4/5...and pl....
yeah pl
oh right that little ET babblet. Forgot about it.
is their a weird st 4?
never mind
there's the pig home st4, not really that weird
there is an odd st 5....and an odd sy 4....
i have a s 4 left and cant find it
the pig home is only 3 letters, the 4 letter one is the thing you can have in your eye
THANK YOU PEN FIREWORKS!
ok gotcha hurshy
YOU"RE WELCOME....CONGRATS....
thanks pen and everyone else who helped me ðŸ‘
no problem....
you're excitement was contagious... ;o)
I found a compromise between listing and not listing...just looking at the list to see how many of each of the first two letter combos there are, but not actually look at the stats for each word.
I like to blast through the grid til Im stuck - then the list
moi aussi
same here....when it stops being fun, i list...
the only pseudo listing i do is look at the longest three words before someone clues them... ;o)
I like it to be a little more challenging.
todays grid was a blast for me
nice....i am going slowly because I am watching tennis...
love the T-bit suffixes! (my word)
we all play games with ourselves here....we don't list, but we ask for clues....we don't list but we ask for stats....we don't list but we ask what X word we are missing... it boils down to what works for you....
Exactly, penquis...we all have our little rules that make things funner...
as long as its fun, its all good
for sure...
amen, IG...
i like funner
Hey penquis...I just noticed your lobster. I'm going to Maine this summer for the first time. We just rented a house for a week.
nice....whereabouts?
harpswell
ah....my aunt used to have a place there.....nice area...
Patrick Dempsey has a place there, I think... ;o)
I just want to look at the water and eat lobster every day for a week, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Maybe Patrick will invite us for tea!
used tl love going home to portland from ohio when the kids were small. we ate all the way- loved the stop at warrens for clams for me and lobster for walter.
If there's anything in particular you recommend to see in that area, let me know
Perhaps! He is a native Mainer....and seems very nice....i know someone who babysat him when he was a kid....
what is warren's, sammysmom?
nice, mom.....i don't know the restaurants in that area well, but if I hear something, I will let you know....Brunswick has some nice places, too...
nice, Mom.....Portland is a nice, manageable city... lots of good places to eat....
warrens lobster house was between poirtsmouth nh and kittey me if k recall correctly.. that was almost 60 year ago-lol
joy....you can go to Land's End....it is the tip of a peninsula...you drive over Orr's Island and Bailey's Island....they are just outside of Brunswick.....the drive is nice....
I don't get down to Kittery much...
and if you get rain, you are near Freeport, home of the LL Bean flagship store....open 24/7, 365 days a year....
Freeport is home of the outlet stores, too...
Land's End in close in miles from where we're staying, but on a different peninsula. It will be fun to explore.
LL Bean is open 24/7, seriously?
couldn't get the fr5,18 for a long time - until I realized I was trying 6 letter words. *smh*
yes, it is a little north of you....
my parent were the caretakers flr a wile at the victorian mansion in portland... loved to visit them there. i was born and raised in portlandand went to ohio flr a vacation when i was 17-went back t visit family jkn portland when i was 23 with my progress report -2 kids brn 11 months apart irish twins they were called.
seriously....has been open all the time forever....they were grandfathered in when there were laws limiting store openings on Sundays....
LOL, mom.....I went to the Victorian Mansion a couple years ago around Christmas time....very nice....
amd yes, pen the mansion was haunted -mama said.
heh heh...
joy....LL Bean had to install locks on their doors at the start of the pandemic....they didn't have any before that because they had been open 24/7 for almost 70 years...
LOL!
they are back to 24/7...
i remember ll bean/s as a kid getting fishing stuff for dad
the reason they went to 24/7 in 1951 was to accommodate sportsmen and fishermen driving through the area at all hours on their way north....
I had no idea...LL Bean is just clothes to me.
they started by making boots for sportsmen...they sold 100 pairs the first year and reimbursed all the buyers' money that year because they didn't feel the quality was good enough....
well i need a break....bbl to finish....bye all....
thanks for the advice penquis!
yw...bye!
in 6/18, first one, pls
And that's FW for me!
compound word, bichon
