i planted a bunch of fruit trees in my large side yard.. they're all doing well and healthy.. the plum and Peach didn't provide fruit last year, but a lot this year.. my Apricot (Bleinheim) hasn't produced at all.

are things are hot up there as it is here? and to top it off, major recabling work here. the noise is awful and they are a couple days shy of digging in the front yard.
close to 90 this week, was well above that last week - way too hot for me
(that's why we were on the water early this morning)

i hope you have AC. heard on the news that people in th e pac NW were suffering because many do not have it.
we do, and are grateful for it.
i did not have it for several years here. it was awful, and then we had trees. they're gone now and it's that western sun all afternoon
i just leave it on. no sense turning it off for two or three days and letting the humidity build up.
even with a/c, i still pull shades down and close curtains
as do i. i don't have shades in the back, though.
doesn't save you much money to shut it down and then have it work hard to bring the temp back down
i am afraid to turn it off, it's very old and uses freon which may not even be available.
it's been awful for gardening, hot and dry.
i have no right to complain - it'll be -30 soon enough
ha! rather be hot. though this summer has been very hot
not me - i'd much rather have the option of putting more clothes on, i can only takes much off before children run screaming
