I don't think there's a 'should' or shouldn't.' Everyone plays the game differently and everyone uses the chat differently...and everyone gets annoyed at different things. I've seen people get incensed at extremely personal chat (think medical conditions) or very exclusive chat (between two people), clue asking, clue giving, types of clue giving, types of asking - and yes, there ARE things that annoy me (and I'm not saying what) - but I remember I am not the keeper of the game and it isn't up to me to legislate on what people can say around here. Sorry, catching just catching up. If purchasing any home appliance, expect a wait. A friend had a home built in early 2020 and is still waiting on reefer (fridge) because she had them build around where she was going to have it placed and nothing else will fit in that spot... I think she got industrial size, tho.

it took 6 weeks when my washing machine 'died' for them to get the part in (under warranty) and my son's went out it took over 2 months... that's for the part to come in... craziness

One thing about cruises - if they port anywhere a vaccination verification card has to be presented or they can't leave the ship, so you can pretty much figure anyone that pays for a cruise wants to disembark at some point so they're going to be vaccinated.

the problem is there are two ways to think and talk. one is from a public health perspective, in which vaccination is obviously insanely helpful. then there's the individual perspective, wherein one would prefer to be 100% guaranteed safe, which is not at all the same as the public health perspective. in that perspective one thinks "oh no, i can still get the virus?" whereas in the public health perspective, there is all the difference in the world - crammed hospitals vs a manageable, small number of patients.

I mentioned driving alone and wearing a mask here and someone got into cross-contamination. I just couldn't believe it.
I think there was a legitimate question about how covid spread, whether contact with viruses on the surface of things could do it. Some of it was extreme (like leaving groceries outside for days) but the science really did need to figure things out. That's why we reassess when we have more information!

I've come up with the perfect fabric combo for masks: one layer of a brushed close weave denim and 2 layers of high thread count cotton. It even keeps the smell of the smoke out!
I'm having horrible acne rosacea so it helps hide that too, plus I don't ever wear makeup
I lined most of mine with a thinner flannel. makes the dog hair stick more

We are mandated to wear masks in our building/office when in common areas (aisles, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.) which is understandable until you take into consideration that my cube-mate coworker are generally the only people in our area (which seats 35 people) and our cube is directly through the front door, lol. There are probably 100 people total in the entire building but in our 'space' they're all working from home.

Because I have a contact latex allergy, I started making masks for both my husband and me quite early. I happened to have some pre-quilted fabric around, and thought 'why not". Turns out, the 3 layers work well - a layer of cotton on each side of the quilting.
we have a niece in WV who, when this all started, made masks for all of the people she works with and sent a bunch down here for family... my son works in a refinery and they were given a $hit-ton of masks (refinery approved, lol) as needed... (if someone forgot their mask they provided extras...) He gave me 4 or 5 as backups for us...
I think she and a crafty friend worked together to make them... One cut, one sewed.

even cloth masks should be replaced every 6 months or so, depending on how often they are washed. The washing does abrade the fibres and eventually the masks lose their effectiveness. The best test is to shine your cell phone light through the mask -- there shouldn't be a lot of light coming through.
