9:48 am

9:49 am

at least if the C is 7 i won't feel that bad

9:49 am

It reminds of me of that line in the movie "Sneakers" where the nerdy guy asks Mary McDonnell if she wants to have breakfast with him. She says yes. He says, "shall I call you, or nudge you?" She looks horrified and calls to the restaurant waiter "Check please!"

oh well, gotta take winston out

down to R S C - 2 5s and a 7

9:58 am

Wow, Winston doesn't get a very long walk

duh, my R was the 7

I'll walk him later. just took him out.

so the C is definitely a 5 if you're still looking, hursh

9:59 am

i am

9:59 am

Re6/24 please? Either one......

9:59 am

i'm therefore missing either G7 or S7

9:59 am

une those are about going back on a promise

there's a G7 I got from the chat earlier

10:00 am

clue?

10:01 am

Tx hursh

10:01 am

it's like granite hydrothermally altered and it has mica and quartz 🤣

10:01 am

Fw!!

10:02 am

GR7 - G + I think there's a german candy here

10:02 am

Knowing Hurshy she will say "oh of course" like that is a word she uses all the time

10:02 am

the ads said "storck chocolate *, mrs. lang" or something

10:02 am

but the vowels are switched

10:03 am

yes, was thinking the same, molly

10:03 am

well done, une!

10:03 am

not at all, i don't know science words

10:03 am

got it from thinking about candies tho

10:03 am

good

10:03 am

Ack, when you do a Google search on that R word you get all this scary anime stuff

10:05 am

ok so we're down to that C5

10:05 am

I still have an S5 too

10:05 am

and looked at the list for the c5. haven't found it yet.

10:06 am

It must be the one that sounds like the artifical stuff football is played on

10:06 am

Or artificial

10:07 am

I have that S5

10:07 am

maybe se5/14

10:08 am

I was referring to Hursh's c5

10:08 am

I do not have an se5/14

10:08 am

no, it was ce5, that'll be hokie's C also

10:10 am

I could clue it, but it's a dirty, dirty clue

10:10 am

yeah, just looked it up

10:11 am

and looked up the s - new to me.

10:11 am

gotta get busy now. TTFN

10:18 am

yuck....hello all....

10:20 am

there should be a colon at the end of that sentence Molly.

10:21 am

and so it begins... ;o)

10:21 am

you just don't have enough intestinal fortitude pen

10:22 am

not going there, ru... ;o)

10:28 am

A colon? Hmm, wonders if Ru has switched teams

10:28 am

:D

10:38 am

It's 2021 Molly, live a little :)

10:39 am

... and I always thought I was a team player... :D

10:40 am

Hi All. I have to attend a really boring all-day workshop today, so I look forward to solving this grid while I listen to people drone on and on and on and on...

10:40 am

good morning everyone :)

10:41 am

hi joy, nan....

10:41 am

glad i am done with boring conferences....

10:42 am

I've been playing this game for over a decade and I still try henge every time

10:42 am

you're hengeful mael :D

10:43 am

henge ought to be a word! A circle of monoliths, no?

10:44 am

Hi Nan. Were you looking for me last night?

10:45 am

hi Soodle...

10:46 am

Hey Pen et al. 😊

10:46 am

only 7 I have is an en -- don't know any german candy so that clue didn' help and I"m not a geologist so no help there either.

10:47 am

hi soodle -- yes I just wanted to thankk you for your chuckle story -- good one :)

10:48 am

I think your idea is great, Nan. Too much sad/bad stuff around these days.

10:49 am

I haven't had any comment from our aussie friends on my latest one --- maybe they haven't seen it. Hope I didn't cross a line with it.

10:49 am

Do you ever wonder if the people who give those conferences and workshops know how boring they are?

10:50 am

Often, Molly

10:50 am

@Nan. Not at all. They’ll laugh.

10:51 am

years ago i went to a conference on school law...speaker was a lawyer. I expected it to be boring, but somehow he was able to insert relevant video clips from the Andy Griffith Show into his talk and he held onto his audience.

10:52 am

It coulld just as easily be a Canadian story -- our bureaucracy isn't any better, for sure

10:53 am

The last workshop I had to go to, they made a big effort to keep it interesting and in parts, humorous. I really appreciated that.

10:53 am

8s done

10:53 am

and a 9

10:54 am

I guess I'm weird.. I've never been to a workshop

10:54 am

still looking for the re 9 that was called last night - probably related to the re 7 that I don't have either

10:54 am

i had to do 25 hours a year in workshops/conferences...

Name that proper noun. Talk show host who is no longer with us.

10:55 am

required for licensing/certification...

10:55 am

Trump

10:55 am

No, but I am amazed at the lack of bitching about that word being in the grid.

10:55 am

please, no... :o{

10:55 am

ew...what's the orange menace doing in the grid?

10:56 am

Boom Boom! Nice one, Ru

isnt it Spring there?

7:14 pm

not til next month. i suppose it's close enough, date-wise. but weather-wise...*shakes head*. my decorative pear tree is coming into leaf and blossom at the same time.

I had damaging 100 year freeze this year in Feb. , and yet plants are now super lush

7:15 pm

i saw that on the news when it happened. frightening, especially for folks with nowhere to go.

7:16 pm

at the risk of sounding personal, how's the plumbing?

Oh behave!

in my best austin powers voice

7:18 pm

*giggle* oh dear, showing my true colours....

7:18 pm

hi granny, IG

7:18 pm

7:19 pm

IG, am i allowed to ask what you do to earn a living?

7:19 pm

no, i'm feeling Don

I am retired from Car racing and greenhouse building

7:20 pm

uhm, then you probably shouldn't be playing a word game

7:23 pm

not so good welki. she is sill drained of energy. i sent babbler's good wishes on to her. she was glad to see she is not forgotten.

7:25 pm

how dare you call my DH a ham! just because he's a drama queen, doesn't make him ham.... rflol

7:25 pm

that's sad, rose :(

sorry - just trying to keep up

7:26 pm

sprite and hubby are now trying to find a permanent place for their tiny house. Rob has finished it, just about.

7:26 pm

please tell her i asked for her and that i hope she gets her strength back (and that i also hope the family is well)

7:28 pm

i thought of you, rose, when i heard this recently - an oldie, but goodie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v\n=KrLTe1_9zso

7:28 pm

what? that was supposed to be a tiny url - hang on a sec

7:28 pm

Rob was not well last time we spoke together. both kids well and very happy. settling down with their respective partners. Caya still studying. Tim has finished his degree in beer making (i am not making that up). not sure if he is gainfully employed yet.

Magnum cum lager?

7:30 pm

loll IG.

7:31 pm

what do you do for a living? i'm a beermeister :)

7:33 pm

tried my hand at cornish pasties (not THOSE kind of pasties) today and they came out great!

7:34 pm

loving this welki. it's playing in the background. they were one of our best exports...loll

7:35 pm

nowadays we have changed the wording a little to honour our First Australians. still a great song.

7:35 pm

7:36 pm

7:36 pm

i've always loved them - second best (for me) would be the bushmen (especially the song, harry's men

7:37 pm

yep, meat and vegies

road racing, like Le Mans

7:39 pm

off topic, but i had a '69 LeMans - was a great car to learn panic turns :D

7:40 pm

7:40 pm

thanks for the chat, you two - enjoy the rest of the evening/day!

7:40 pm

bye IG. if i see FT i'll let her know you were here. xx

Bye

7:41 pm

ugh, noooo.... gosh i need to read more carefully. bye welki. have a good one . xx

7:44 pm

i'm such a petrol head. i loved being a pillion with Don. nowadays i get my rush when we fly anywhere. take-off gives me such a buzz. all that power !!

sympatico!

spelling?

7:48 pm

lol. on the motorcycle, we used to ride everywhere. then Don bought the Motor Guzzi. it's huge. and i have put a lot of weight on over the last 8 years. after my fall at work i was unable to exercise as much as i did. i made the decision i would not pillion until i reduced my weight. the bike is heavy enough to handle without my extra weight added.

I did the equivalent of the Super Cars here in the States

7:51 pm

ahh. no sometimes vowel. use an i instead.

7:53 pm

oh my. i would have loved to see that. When we have the big car race here in Melbourne i would love to go. but Don isn't interested.formula one i think it is. a Grand Prix anyway.

7:56 pm

it's strange that. he likes to watch the car rallies in Europe, but won't watch our home-grown race.

your super car series is World Class!

7:59 pm

yeah. tell it to the fish as far as Don is concerned. not to worry we share other likes

8:00 pm

when the races are on, they feature in our news on the TV. i do get to see the spectacular bits then.

8:06 pm

IG? i need to go mate. lovely chatting with you. my 6 year old grand-daughter usually video chats with me around this time on a Friday. ttfn. enjoy your evening. xx
