UK word not allowed! SCRUMP is stealing apples from someone's tree
I went scrumping as a small boy!
fw
Are you here IG?
Clue for the gr7, please? It's killing me.
I will look with you. The lone N is annoying me.
gr7 = gr + 2 vowels + I ***t the email to you.
Ne6 is a worm
Tx Scrabs!
More help with that worm please?
NM, I found it.
Ne + re4/4
Off to work. Boo!
Bye Scrabs!
Clue for en8s?
put momentum into
Think of the pink bunny
from the commercials
just beating that drum
Tx!!
there's both the American and UK spellings
yw
what an odd little grid
I like them like that.
Ooh, good....a SHORT one!
short but testy
I think you are the only player I have ever heard that from.
Everyone always wants them big.
I like the quick ones.
finito...Only letter I found problematic was the top R.
Off to by a new chariot...All day at a car dealership...Oh, what fun!
Ooo, a new car for Bea
aaaaaand that's a FW.
Congrats!
i managed to find one 8 letter word
hi mlfan. I found 2 but only because I saw them clued below. what does yours start with?
en.. you? i havent looked through chat at all
both EN - don't forget brit spelling
ty hokie
got the gr7 from a clue in chat
well, not my favorite grid. still 26 left after first pass.
congrats hokie
I'm sure ruru thinks it's easy. ruru...!!
more so then i do
i'm down to seven pretty quickly
14 here
not pretty quickley
quickly
the biggies are easy today
do you have the RE9? wondering if it's a do-over
if so, I need the 7 too I guess
like multiple agencies
ah, thanks
fun Z words today :D
you know you're a babbler when... you find the hawaiian goose before the other N from the top which is a 100% normal word
whoa, that's weird, i'm only on the third row and i finished 6s
same thing happened to me
not finished the 6's but the n thing you said
2-7-1-2
RR GGG HH SSS C P
upper c? i miss one of those also
yes, I have bottom 2 rows gray
ooh, found an R that I definitely am familiar with
found both h's
it's like I wasn't even trying before
trying is important
left F both fy, or one fr and one fy?
oop peri'd
ooh, found an S. 8 left.
oh, and there's my last 6. 1-4-0-2
i have re9 what's the other 9?
en
ah thanks
and 2 en8s, what's the other 8?
oh, there's a G I always miss
EN - (brit)
ahh
what H do you think i would miss even with trying?
he5 was my last, regular word
R GG S C P
thanks!
do you have ge5/16
sure, it was hard to see for some reason
cause i have one more G than you so maybe that is what you are missing
nope, thanks. I think I missed that the other day too.
and you have an E that i need, third row. i have the color.
1-2-0-2
I think it has to be eg4
ah yes
i'm so silly, i thought of that when i was doing top E and waited to put it in, then forgot it. i should have just put it in
for R is it top or bottom that you need
yes, I am always silly like that too
ph7 was my last P
top R
ok, have been trying to make a ph word but haven't. looking.
have you got the sewing one, re5?
yes, that was the one I found that I said I'm very familiar with
is the PH7 a regular word?
hmm, not sure what else you could have missed... probably a 4
no not exactly
Does she have the sewing one? Hahahaha
i have a good ph7 clue if you want
may need a nudge on the ph7
schizo________
lol, of course I tried it first ending with an A, which isn't in the grid today. thanks
Wow, Matty's morning nudge thing has bled into mid-day
well, sometimes you just want a nudge, not a beat over the head
i don't know WHAT on earth this C can be
what lengths to do you have left? has to be a 4, 5, or 7
same
at least if the C is 7 i won't feel that bad
It reminds of me of that line in the movie "Sneakers" where the nerdy guy asks Mary McDonnell if she wants to have breakfast with him. She says yes. He says, "shall I call you, or nudge you?" She looks horrified and calls to the restaurant waiter "Check please!"
oh well, gotta take winston out
down to R S C - 2 5s and a 7
Wow, Winston doesn't get a very long walk
duh, my R was the 7
I'll walk him later. just took him out.
so the C is definitely a 5 if you're still looking, hursh
i am
Re6/24 please? Either one......
i'm therefore missing either G7 or S7
une those are about going back on a promise
there's a G7 I got from the chat earlier
clue?
Tx hursh
it's like granite hydrothermally altered and it has mica and quartz 🤣
Fw!!
GR7 - G + I think there's a german candy here
Knowing Hurshy she will say "oh of course" like that is a word she uses all the time
the ads said "storck chocolate *, mrs. lang" or something
but the vowels are switched
yes, was thinking the same, molly
well done, une!
not at all, i don't know science words
got it from thinking about candies tho
good
Ack, when you do a Google search on that R word you get all this scary anime stuff
ok so we're down to that C5
I still have an S5 too
and looked at the list for the c5. haven't found it yet.
It must be the one that sounds like the artifical stuff football is played on
Or artificial
I have that S5
maybe se5/14
I was referring to Hursh's c5
I do not have an se5/14
no, it was ce5, that'll be hokie's C also
I could clue it, but it's a dirty, dirty clue
yeah, just looked it up
and looked up the s - new to me.
gotta get busy now. TTFN
yuck....hello all....
there should be a colon at the end of that sentence Molly.
and so it begins... ;o)
you just don't have enough intestinal fortitude pen
not going there, ru... ;o)
A colon? Hmm, wonders if Ru has switched teams
:D
It's 2021 Molly, live a little :)
... and I always thought I was a team player... :D
Hi All. I have to attend a really boring all-day workshop today, so I look forward to solving this grid while I listen to people drone on and on and on and on...
good morning everyone :)
hi joy, nan....
glad i am done with boring conferences....
I've been playing this game for over a decade and I still try henge every time
you're hengeful mael :D
henge ought to be a word! A circle of monoliths, no?
Hi Nan. Were you looking for me last night?
hi Soodle...
Hey Pen et al. 😊
only 7 I have is an en -- don't know any german candy so that clue didn' help and I"m not a geologist so no help there either.
hi soodle -- yes I just wanted to thankk you for your chuckle story -- good one :)
I think your idea is great, Nan. Too much sad/bad stuff around these days.
I haven't had any comment from our aussie friends on my latest one --- maybe they haven't seen it. Hope I didn't cross a line with it.
Do you ever wonder if the people who give those conferences and workshops know how boring they are?
Often, Molly
@Nan. Not at all. They’ll laugh.
years ago i went to a conference on school law...speaker was a lawyer. I expected it to be boring, but somehow he was able to insert relevant video clips from the Andy Griffith Show into his talk and he held onto his audience.
It coulld just as easily be a Canadian story -- our bureaucracy isn't any better, for sure
The last workshop I had to go to, they made a big effort to keep it interesting and in parts, humorous. I really appreciated that.
8s done
and a 9
I guess I'm weird.. I've never been to a workshop
still looking for the re 9 that was called last night - probably related to the re 7 that I don't have either
i had to do 25 hours a year in workshops/conferences...
Name that proper noun. Talk show host who is no longer with us.
required for licensing/certification...
Trump
No, but I am amazed at the lack of bitching about that word being in the grid.

ah, an excuse to drink root beer!....

poofski
Poofski? God Ru, could you get any more cutesy pie?

don't know why I'm looking -- lol - have all the n's

my good morning to your good evening. how are you IG? where's FT? she okay?
thx and good morning - Im good FT must be out eating sushi
another day in lock down here. still positive cases being found out in the community. ah well. my time will come. my garden is very confused. it can't make up it's mind whether it is still winter or it is starting to be spring...lol
isnt it Spring there?
not til next month. i suppose it's close enough, date-wise. but weather-wise...*shakes head*. my decorative pear tree is coming into leaf and blossom at the same time.
I had damaging 100 year freeze this year in Feb. , and yet plants are now super lush
i saw that on the news when it happened. frightening, especially for folks with nowhere to go.
at the risk of sounding personal, how's the plumbing?
Oh behave!
in my best austin powers voice
*giggle* oh dear, showing my true colours....
hi granny, IG
and we've only just met....
yay ! {{{welki }}}}}
are you feeling randy? (she said in her best austin powers voice)
IG, am i allowed to ask what you do to earn a living?
no, i'm feeling Don
I am retired from Car racing and greenhouse building
uhm, then you probably shouldn't be playing a word game
duh, what?
*collapsing with the giggles*
yipes - i need to not visualize (was replying to rose's comment about feeling don)
not getting the don thing
how's sprite doing?
processed meats ad over here. Is Don. Is good.....loll
don = rose's very significant other
we call that ham
not so good welki. she is sill drained of energy. i sent babbler's good wishes on to her. she was glad to see she is not forgotten.
how dare you call my DH a ham! just because he's a drama queen, doesn't make him ham.... rflol
that's sad, rose :(
sorry - just trying to keep up
sprite and hubby are now trying to find a permanent place for their tiny house. Rob has finished it, just about.
please tell her i asked for her and that i hope she gets her strength back (and that i also hope the family is well)
i thought of you, rose, when i heard this recently - an oldie, but goodie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v\n=KrLTe1_9zso
what? that was supposed to be a tiny url - hang on a sec
Rob was not well last time we spoke together. both kids well and very happy. settling down with their respective partners. Caya still studying. Tim has finished his degree in beer making (i am not making that up). not sure if he is gainfully employed yet.
https://tinyurl.com/e385nxbb
thanx welki, that sneaky \n was in the first link
sorry to monopolize the chat, IG, but i haven't "spoken" with rose in ages. *back to our regularly scheduled programming*
Magnum cum lager?
loll IG.
no disrespect
what do you do for a living? i'm a beermeister :)
who, me/
me?
noooo, was expanding on the beer career
tried my hand at cornish pasties (not THOSE kind of pasties) today and they came out great!
loving this welki. it's playing in the background. they were one of our best exports...loll
nowadays we have changed the wording a little to honour our First Australians. still a great song.
oooohhhh, yum. pasties. do you put meat in or just the vegs?
so, IG. what sort of cars did you race in?
i've always loved them - second best (for me) would be the bushmen (especially the song, harry's men
yep, meat and vegies
road racing, like Le Mans
off topic, but i had a '69 LeMans - was a great car to learn panic turns :D
how old were you when you stopped? hubby and i are into MotoGP. spectators only. used to ride down to Philip Island when the race came here.
thanks for the chat, you two - enjoy the rest of the evening/day!
only raced in the US and Canada - stopped around 50
bye IG. if i see FT i'll let her know you were here. xx
Bye
ugh, noooo.... gosh i need to read more carefully. bye welki. have a good one . xx
i'm such a petrol head. i loved being a pillion with Don. nowadays i get my rush when we fly anywhere. take-off gives me such a buzz. all that power !!
sympatico!
spelling?
lol. on the motorcycle, we used to ride everywhere. then Don bought the Motor Guzzi. it's huge. and i have put a lot of weight on over the last 8 years. after my fall at work i was unable to exercise as much as i did. i made the decision i would not pillion until i reduced my weight. the bike is heavy enough to handle without my extra weight added.
I did the equivalent of the Super Cars here in the States
ahh. no sometimes vowel. use an i instead.
oh my. i would have loved to see that. When we have the big car race here in Melbourne i would love to go. but Don isn't interested.formula one i think it is. a Grand Prix anyway.
it's strange that. he likes to watch the car rallies in Europe, but won't watch our home-grown race.
your super car series is World Class!
yeah. tell it to the fish as far as Don is concerned. not to worry we share other likes
when the races are on, they feature in our news on the TV. i do get to see the spectacular bits then.
IG? i need to go mate. lovely chatting with you. my 6 year old grand-daughter usually video chats with me around this time on a Friday. ttfn. enjoy your evening. xx
Bye Rose - Loved it!
