I know, I've been selling off my barbies on ebay. was too busy around xmas, so am going to get back into it when we get back home. no room to store them anymore!
unfortunately the glue isn't holding up on the addams family box so the plastic is separating from the cardboard, so mine will prob go a bit less than $200.
I also have mulder & scully but last I checked that one isn't going as high. the LOTR ones I have will do pretty well too.
I got a really nice Irish Princess Barbie on eBay some years ago for a really low price. My great-niece was in heaven.

I also have the coca cola soda shop set still in the packing box, which is very high dollar, but the packing box is dented on one corner so I'm going to have to open it to see if it's damaged inside.

yes, ebay. I had a ton of kelly & friends which is barbie's little sister, and I sold most of those last fall.
it's just a lot of work to get them listed on ebay and then mailed out. I might try to rent a spot this spring at a big flea market nearby and see if I can sell them but I'm not sure I'm up for haggling.

my daughter has one Barbie and it's Sally Ride, the first american woman in space and first lgbt astronaut (though that didn't come out until much later, for obvious reasons). It's pretty great

there's definitely artistic trends, manga and anime usually have disproportionately big eyes like Disney does. It's partly because that's what's praised aesthetically and partly that it's easier to animate expressions if features are exaggerated
yeah, and i mean, i think the thing is just to point it out because it can have a subconscious effect. not like "don't enjoy the movie" but just hey notice this thing.
