someone earlier said it was yiddish slang

6:00 pm

if the initial vowel sound is "ah" then it makes sense how people whose first language wasn't english might have spelled with with either an a or an o

6:08 pm

it is not yiddish slang. it is a yiddish word. used all the time by us yiddish speakers.

6:09 pm

and it is always spelled with a Z as the first letter because that is how it is pronounced.

6:20 pm

no, i'm saying why it would have the spellings za and zo

I don't think anyone disputed the z

and the dictionary link says slang

6:21 pm

so i guess i combined the yiddish that you said, with the slang that the dictionary said, but, perhaps the dictionary is inaccurate

6:25 pm

come to think of it, i have really no idea what makes a word slang or not slang

6:34 pm

the slang from it is "zaf".people will use that term to refer to someone who is chubby. she is really zaf. or "boy has Jane become Zaf!"

11:41 pm

Or did Jamie give you a dispensation, Hursh?

11:42 pm

Not long to go to the flip, but I can give clues if anyone wants anything last minute.

11:48 pm

I had NEVER heard the zo6.48 word, or the more correct version, za6.48 to describe a pleasingly rounded woman, in all my 65 yeas before. But there you go; we live and learn!

11:53 pm

As for the 'e' words... ed4.7 is perhaps the rim of something? ed4.5 and 5.12 describe what a newspaper vboss does, eg4.6 - the self/id? el5.12 - tree or someone not so young. en6.21 - chewing edge on mandibles of spiders and crabs. Hope that helps.
