can some clue the z pls? i know it's zo6 but i'm monkeyed out
zo6 ... sounds like opp of hard and the end of a porky
and there was no way i was going to get that! thx rolin
i had to look it up...know idea what it it
I had to look it up too, would never have monkeyed it. it's a plump woman or person. says slang, but I don't know where or when this was slang.
it's weird, I always thought the word was zA6, not zo6
I think that was listed in the dictionary link as an alt sp
someone earlier said it was yiddish slang
if the initial vowel sound is "ah" then it makes sense how people whose first language wasn't english might have spelled with with either an a or an o
it is not yiddish slang. it is a yiddish word. used all the time by us yiddish speakers.
and it is always spelled with a Z as the first letter because that is how it is pronounced.
no, i'm saying why it would have the spellings za and zo
I don't think anyone disputed the z
and the dictionary link says slang
so i guess i combined the yiddish that you said, with the slang that the dictionary said, but, perhaps the dictionary is inaccurate
come to think of it, i have really no idea what makes a word slang or not slang
the slang from it is "zaf".people will use that term to refer to someone who is chubby. she is really zaf. or "boy has Jane become Zaf!"
back again...hello all...
evening
hi dan...
can have the stats for the 10?
st 10/91

just finished....listed at 28....
i had five fours missing when i reached 30....
I have 2, 23 left
once i listed, they weren't that bad.. ;o)
can anybody clue the 2nd ri6/27 (before the ri4/4)
believe it or not....with a different third letter....
or is it the one that just adds a consonant to the previous re 5?...
i think the second clue is for the second re 6/27...
sorry.....i think the first clue is the second RI 6 that you want....
I got it - director Scott
i was counting an RE with the same stats...
thanks pen
don't know much about directors...
I thought I tried that
he has directed a ton of stuff
sorry, got distracted...

it took me a long time to get the bingo...the i and the z were hard and yet after i found them, i wondered what took me so long...
i just can't stop thinking about how quickly England got things moving when they really had to rev up for war with Hitler...
pretty impressive how everyone did their bit to get factories producing what was needed and all that
yes, quite....
i just think hokie should be thinking about it too
well i am heading out....goodnight all....
lol, I have moved on to tomorrow's crossword.
I have what I think you're saying, hurshy
well that's pangram
is pangram not what you meant by "bingo"?
or did you get it after you were talking about it
no, there's a bingo when you find a word with each letter. I currently don't have a Z or E word
ohhh i see
zoom
emblem
i didn't know about that cause i play without an account :D
ni-ni
can you not see "today's hints" without an account?
hurshy - You must have an account as you've been here since 2005. lol
do you want a hint Carla?
Or did Jamie give you a dispensation, Hursh?
Not long to go to the flip, but I can give clues if anyone wants anything last minute.
I had NEVER heard the zo6.48 word, or the more correct version, za6.48 to describe a pleasingly rounded woman, in all my 65 yeas before. But there you go; we live and learn!
As for the 'e' words... ed4.7 is perhaps the rim of something? ed4.5 and 5.12 describe what a newspaper vboss does, eg4.6 - the self/id? el5.12 - tree or someone not so young. en6.21 - chewing edge on mandibles of spiders and crabs. Hope that helps.
edits
sorry
Don't fret, rolin. I think we are the only ones here to see.x
