6:12 am

Good morning, IG.

Hi, Scrabbler

Lots of plurals in this grid

6:25 am

I am trying to not miss them.

7:09 am

morning all!

7:13 am

Hi Dan. What are your weekend plans?

7:21 am

Good morning, glad to be back online

7:22 am

Hi sukee. did you have a power outage?

7:23 am

Nope, a network outage. Nothing worked, tv, internet and cell phone

oh thank the heavens it is rainy and cool on the Cumberland Plateau this morning--yesterday at 91 (index 109 with 69% humidity)--right now, 70 and a gentle rain

7:23 am

It happened to a lot of people across the country

7:23 am

Ugh. Annoying. Amish lifestyle.

7:23 am

Hot, hot, Donna.

7:23 am

At least we had electricity :)

it will be later today, and the humidity will be insufferable

7:27 am

low key weekend - farmers market, cousin time for miss2bit

7:27 am

7:29 am

Mr. B returns from Bavaria and Covid

7:30 am

7:30 am

I am hosting a birthday party for my eldest great-nephew who will be 10 tomorrow. I ordered a big cake and lots of food. We will be outside and distanced.

7:30 am

7:30 am

A gift :) sorry

7:30 am

Mr Bichon got COVID in Germany? Ach!

7:32 am

So did two of his trip mates. He's been "quarantineing" at a hotel, Still testing positive

7:32 am

I don't remember if I shared it here, but the very first Monday of her summer break, miss2bit tested COVID+ with a cough/congestion but no fever. She was so strict with her own quarantine that neither of her parents tested positive. We are very fortunate

7:33 am

You are lucky, Dan. Miss2bit was not.

7:35 am

it was a hassle, and rotten timing, but certainly more mild than others have been through. she's breezed on to art camp and neighborhood pool

7:36 am

Clue for tr9 please?

it's a sugar

7:37 am

Phantom = tremolo. Loons do this.

7:40 am

Tx!! What a word!

especially after I read the source of the sugar

My monkey has not yet figured it out.

8:40 am

just watched three young deer stroll in front of my window

8:40 am

nice

8:41 am

yeah :) we get quite the wildlife parade

oh, yesterday when I walked winston we saw all kinds of wildlife. normally I just see canada geese, but yesterday I saw a big black snake, then winston saw something and by the time I looked I just saw it going into the marsh. I'm thinking it was a beaver since something has been eating the wood posts on one of the bridge rails. then I saw a big deer.

8:44 am

haven't seen any snakes this year, but had a cute prairie dog visit the other day

I've seen a black snake in this same spot so I'm going to say it was the same one.

8:44 am

(richardson's ground squirrel)

8:45 am

i saw a grey fox cross the road like less than 50 feet from where i was walking

LOL, I've of course heard of prairie dogs. never heard them called that though

8:46 am

one of my kids has a resident snake in vermont, maybe a red-bellied snake

8:47 am

here, they call them gophers, too - i suspect most have never seen a ~~bona fide~~ gopher :D

8:47 am

ohhh, fox sightings are such a gift!!

gophers are different though

8:47 am

very different

8:49 am

phantom: aioli

8:50 am

hello all...

there was a canada goose family and the mom (or dad?) would guard the greenway path while the babies would wonder around. I thought several times I would be attacked for walking by but never happened. haven't seen them in a few days so they must've flown on. winston thinks their poop is a delicacy so he's actually very annoying to walk near there.

pen!

8:50 am

hi pen

8:51 am

i had a basset hound that liked to roll in them - annoying cigar factories, those geese

he loves to roll in stuff, but he doesn't that because he eats it as fast as he can. he hoovers it up before I can blink.

8:52 am

hi carla, welki....

my oldest son loves basset hounds

ooh, finished the c on first pass. unheard of.

9:00 am

One of my boys, Thomas, came home from school one day and told me he had to create a town from the ground up. I asked what he named his town and he seemed embarrassed to say he called it Thomasville. I told him lots of people named places after themselves, for instance Pennsylvania was named for William Penn. His response - "Oh that's good. I thought some stupid people named their kid Pencil."
