Did anyone see Al Roker dressed up as Sammy Davis Jr. for Halloween? Good job Mr. Roker.
I don't know either of those people, hah
let me google them
oh wow
sorry, even googling didn't ring a bell. but that's the younger, non-american part of me :)
back for my last 26
Al Roker's been the weatherman on the Today Show for a long time. Sammy Davis, Jr. was a singer, part of the Rat Pack. definitely before your time.
ooh, found a word
anyone do the NTPN on the actor in things such as LOTR?

hi welks.. just coming up for air
hi ru - enjoying the sound of the rain here
we can sure use it here
the long range forecast for northern ca is cold and rainy for the next two weeks or so, so we've changed our plans. instead of heading to trinidad, we're going to arizona
wow.. who's watching daphne?
she's with us
oh.. i see
is she a good traveler?
was just going to say she's a terrific traveler! but still so reactive/hyper. she's a difficult dog in social situations
I'm not sure we're dining on the patio tomorrow with this iffy weather
inside is just fine - company will be great, scenery is optional
it'
it is a really nice restaurant.. wish the weather held for you
this is the first rainy day since we started our trip
hopefully it will be sunny by the weekend
i'm bringing a bottle of the Piron for you to try.
it'd be nice if it cleared up, but we're expecting to pack up and start driving in the rain - at least it's not snow :)
when do you depart?
thanks for the wine - i look every time we're in a store
we're due to leave on the 6th, but might cut out a day early - depends on the weather
ah ok.. not great to drive in the pouring rain.. but we never get big storms this early in the year
hello all...
rehi
nothing wrong with arizona except their crazy politicians
we haven't spent much time in the desert - i found a place that's really remote. there's a good fishing lake about 40 minutes away and 2 hour day trips in any direction
it'd be more perfect if we had brought our UTV with us - there are trails everywhere
rehi here too
welki! ruru! pen! remoo!
carla!
hi hokie.. i didn't realize you lived so close to the beach
well howdy to you too, carla - and moo and pen!
remoolade - the sauce that goes with everything
we are just visiting, ruru. almost 5 hours from home, though there is probably a closer beach.

there's my last M and last 7. could've sworn I already had that.

is the 9 a word I would know?
well, nan & I couldn't decide last night what it means. could be 2 different ways. do you want the stat or a subtle nudge?
i will take a nudge, thanks...
similar to one of the he7
ok, thanks.....will fiddle with that...
either unnecessary feminine word or related to a drug
got it...weird...
yep
tried to see the definition, but dictionary.com changed their page and I can't use it to find it....that is weird, too...
ty for the nudge...
apparently it's related to the drug...
last night when I clicked it went to dictionary.com but said no definition
that is what i experienced....and i typed the word in at the website and still didn't get a definition...
so my first impression was correct
ooh, found my N's. 7 left!
cool...
216 to go
go, Bea!
Just got the 8. Nice :-)
hi Soodle...
it's pretty easy today, bea. won't be long for you to catch up.
Hi Pen, et al. Happy November
hey soodle, it is a nice feeling finding the big ones. ðŸ˜
ditto....warm weather this fall here....
It's warm enough here, but constant rain and low clouds. I was driving to work this morning and the sky was the same colour as the road. Grim and dismal.
bummer...
well i am stalled at 24 so i am taking a break....bye all....
Bye Pen. 3 to go here.
bye pen!
And so saying, FW. Anybody need a nudge?
well done

my u's were the bears
no idea what my last v means
had all my u's
I was getting ready to ask that question.
SSS R H V E
H was a plural that I was sure I had tried
you were guessing my u, bea?
your 9 is the h, mool.
also don't feel bad about my S even though we've had it before
Yes, was going to ask if you had the bears.
also my E we've had but whatevs
bea, did you see they finally arrested someone for killing those delphi girls?
I knew they were close.
I think a lot of cold cases are going to start heating up with the advances made in dna.
yep
still 7 to go :)
well, that 9 is lame
yeah, fo sho
what 7 are left moo?

maybe R5
s6 that was my last. and then a 5/6 set but I'm not sure which you have.
ah
yeah, was e6
just clicked on def. not what I expected.
oh yeah, did not expect that either
it's the top s, not the bottom one
but a 5/6 combo would make sense
did you find the other S6?
yep, was a 5/6 combo
3 to go ...S R V 0-1-2
was thinking you'd have that as a NZer
last 3 are what I expect, though you could be missing a different R5 than I'm thinking.
hi all
joy! how goes it?
ok. I haven't been around much; mostly I've been doing SB.
I stopped at genius today
no use showing off right?
not sure I can be bothered with these last 3
I have a compulsion to be the Queen Bee everyday. My partner and I work on it until we get all the words.
a compulsion to be the Queen Bee everyday...sounds like therapy talk
Good for you joy, it's certainly challenging
I'll bet there are shrinks in NY who help people who are addicted to NYTimes word games.
Sad but probably true
ty moo. Their dictionary is weird, too. It uses a fair amount of NYC slang, but that's where I'm from.
Yeah, I noticed that...I like the game, not fond of the arbitrary dictionary
Have lived in NYC a couple of times, so picked up some of it..
At least words like "dunno" and "wanna" are familiar. Not like words for ancient Turkish currency or Mongolian basket weaving.
they have some obscure ones in Bee though too, which makes it feel more arbitrary
yes, that's true, moo, and it is annoying. They have some scientific terms but not others.
the game itself though I do enjoy :)

all good in your neck of the woods.
that was a question....loll
yes - had a busy day si just getting back to this now
had dinner out with a group of long time friends, then had the group back here for coffee and dessert
lovely.
our weather is still unstable. bouts of heavy rain alternating with bouts of brilliant sunshine.
we live in a good area with few floods. only floods if drains blocked but local council keeping up to the mark with cleaning out the drains.
we've had summer weather up until the last 10 days, when autumn weather arrived. So far though it has been sunny during the day and rainy at night. We finally had a couple of nights of frost, so the apple harvest is now underway -- a little late this year.
nice.
