Did you start yet, IG?
Hi, Scrabs
Hi there.
run of the mill grid - a couple of words of interest
I am still waking up.
Yep me too
I havent caffeined-up yet
I am sipping coffee.
what time does it start to get light there now?
Sunrise is 6:59 here today.
gonna move my butt to get a cup
Fridays storm blew down a big tree- It was crazy
In your yard?
a line of 50+ mph winds swept across the lake
the tree shaded my yard but was the neighbors
I live in the woods so am always concerned about a tree falling on my house. The last fallen tree was out in the front yard.
Its worth the risk to live in the wood - sounds beautiful
woods
And our development is next to a large park with trails in the woods. It's heaven.
and my back yard is a lake - I think we are doing okay
Yes, we sure are.
Time to get ready for work. ENjoy the day.
shop
One free clue before I leave.
good morning all.
I have a question about TVs. I have a 13 year old TV. I do not have or want cable. I am not able to get any reception in my new place. I have an indoor antenna that worked in my old apartment but does not work here. Would a roku or something else be helpful?
we used roku. it was good - just needed an extra adapter for our old tvs
and you have to pay them subscription fees.
gotta run! 37 to go
can you use a rooftop antenna--we have one and it works great for over the air--main stations. We had to add a rotater as we are in middle of a triangle--Nash, Chatt, Knox, on the Cumberland Plateau
several Extra PBS stations
my landlord said no to rooftop antennas
well, that s*cks
dopas
ooops
I have Roku TVs and you get a lot of stuff with them for free. Not local live TV though, that you need cable for.
I have smart tv's now but have used rokus and apple tvs and firesticks in the past (basically the same thing). if peri's tv isn't smart, she will need one of those devices to stream anything. I have an indoor antenna on one tv and there are other OTA channels that I don't get elsewhere. I can get local networks on hulu live but that can be expensive.
I assume you have tried the indoor antenna as close to the window as possible? that may help but it may be tough in an apt bldg.
you could always put tinfoil on your head and face due north too
hmm
well, HOET except the bottom E. ps- endo is a mountain biking word you don't want any part in. ask me how I know.
How do you know, Carla?
well, I did it once, back in my 20s. mr. homie still says it's the worst mtb crash he's seen.
it's short for end over end, when you fly over the handlebars
Google says it is a technique where the back wheel is lifted for switchbacks
But you definition is more in line with what I was thinking.
I think the bottom E is all ep words
they are all hebrew, too
two spellings of a measurement of volume, both can be pluralized, and one article of clothing
there's a bushel of them
ok, clicked the 4 and it brought up the 5 ðŸ˜
and somehow I missed the pluralization of the 4
HOET!
bottom row grey!
I always miss the niblings. bottom row gray here too now.
Carla has been dying for ne5/12 or nephew to show up in a grid so she could use that word. 😊
it's a great word
'morning, babblers
I think I've talked about it before here
welki!
Good morning, welki.
i used some of that nam pla sauce i picked up at lunch, ori - still good, but better there :)
washpot seems like a perfectly good word
yep, ashpot, too
good point. I never see the smaller words inside.
phantom peonies
i don't understand why the porcelain brand name is allowed - i can't find a definition where it's not used as a proper noun
oh, the dishes? have always wondered about that.
the mysteries of enable
The food was great there.
homer simpson has said a lot of dohs over the years
ori, we're headed towards arizona today - considered I-10, so we could drive through joshua tree, but decided I-40 might be the better road
which word is the plates?
sp5
I have a set of xmas sp5
bottom 2 rows gray!
morning, ru
hi welki.. too bad about Joshua Tree it's a beautiful area
Had to take a break to get breakfast. Probably ru's fav.
breakfast? or joshua tree?
my guess is that between the two, joshua tree is the most twisty, windy road - yesterday was a crap drive, we need easy today
brakfast
breakfast
been there, done that, welki
oh, we think our motorhome has sold
what's my fave bea?
oh, carla, it was the pits - we saw jesus twice, once at a merge and once on a mountain pass. anything that could pucker, did.
LMAO @ welki
LOL, definitely take an easy route.
Ru, I'm having leftover pizza for breakfast.
I may have told this before, but we skipped zion and stayed at bryce canyon for a week because of something like that
oh, I definitely talked about it in my blog and my email to you
top row gray!
one A left on 2nd row, then the middle row is a $%^&show
5S, 4P, an O, and 4T
it rained for most of the day yesterday, too - you'd think the drivers were navigating through three feet of snow
haha, I've seen a lot of that in charlotte
which a , Carla?
left
phantom aspic
rain in southern california is considered a driving nightmare they don't know how to deal with it
Do you have the climb? as6?
nope, thanks. kept seeing the noun form but the verb didn't occur to me. DOH!
now just the 14 on the middle row. ugh.
it just registered that you said you think you might have sold your motorhome - is that a sad or glad thing? are you replacing it?
phantom science

well, it is getting old and more expensive. I would love to get a small pull behind but mr. homie wants to do tent for a while since we've been restricted by our size for years.
plus it has been so hard to sell he may not ever get something else.
we started with a pop-up that I found, bought, picked up, and then sold no problem on craigslist, so I may have to go that route again. 🤣
i loved tenting, but would have to have a camp cot now - too old and fat to sleep on the ground, nevermind trying to get to an upright position the next morning - we'd be kicked out of the campground for the noises i'd make :D
Ha! I love tent camping. I do use a blow up mattress, though.
we took our air mattress a month or so ago.
some of the new pop ups are pretty fancy - we had one, a bare bones model, and loved it. like you probably did, we ran the whole gamut - tent, pop up, crap trailer, nice trailer, motorhome, fifth wheel - and now the small pull behind trailer
I'd really rather have something with hard sides as I do not like bears and such.
for some reason I was thinking you still had the fifth wheel
oh lord, i'd be in a mental hospital if we were pulling the fifth wheel yesterday
I like sleeping without a tent, but only do that on BLM land in the middle of nowhere - not in a campground.
that's the best way to have hot boxed wine ... out on BLM land
your rendition of the experience was unforgettable, ru
Absolutely! Hot boxed wine in the desert.
well, better get busy - 11 left for later. 1-7-3 SSS PPP O TTTT
oh, NTPN before I go - actor who plays a mob guy a lot

that sp6 is british for pantry. so weird.
good luck with your pickleball....
thanks, I have tennis tomorrow morning, so we'll see how that goes after pickleball 🤣
i play with a few people who alternate with the two and they seem to do ok...
it's hard for me because it makes my timing off in tennis
i think that might go away if you played both regularly for a while....easy for me to say, lol....
I've kinda been toying with that... pickleball once a week, tennis twice
that would probably work....
well, no new words over lunch, still 11 left.

good morning/afternoon everyone
hi nan...
hi pen...a beautiful day down in RI. about 65 and bluebird skies.
nice....47 here are quite breezy, so it feels colder...
breezy here as well, great waves. surfers are having a good time.
i bet....
are you visiting someone in RI?...
23 here, but it has stopped snowing -- got half the driveway done and will finish the rest after lunch
you have had quite a bit of early snow there...
inherited my parents house at the beach. my husband retired in July so we are spending the summers down here and the winters in Carrabassett.
yes - about 10" on the ground now
wow....and our fall has been really warm....over 70 here yesterday....broke records in some parts of the state...
we were getting that up until 3 weeks ago -- only had about 18 days of fall, then winter arrived
how nice for you....must be really nice there in the summer....and this fall, too!
spent some time in Carrabassett for bird season. i do not hunt, but i enjoy driving the woods road with my husband.
it's good that you can enjoy both of your worlds...
yes, but i miss summer in maine terribly. i don't have a stash fo wild blueberries or fiddleheads. next summer i need to go back and pick!
well you can always take a break from RI... ;o)
what are fiddleheads?
stuck at 21 - taking a wordle break
a type of fern, deeha -- the end of the frond is curled up like the scroll on a violin.
a fiddlehead is a green thing you pick in a field in the spring....named because it looks like the top of a violin....you cook it...
my aunt used to call my father in the spring when the fiddleheads were ready in her fields....
we have ferns like that. I had no idea they were edible
well you would want to make sure yours are edible before trying them... ;o)
picked before the open up -- think they are cooked like you would spinnach -- not big on cooked greens so have never tried them
you have to clean them really well in water....
got it i 4 -- picked the wrong 2nd letter on the 2nd and 3rd tries
down to 1 word here

I've almost gotten wordle in 2 two days in a row, I was very mad at myself

Kind of feels like it. The time change and the fact that it's dark here don't help.
I think it's been dark 2 hours here
Well, sunset was officially only about 40 minutes ago here.

I gather the U.S. is going to stop changing the clocks next year.
maybe...there's a bill in Congress but who knows?
yeah, I thought it passed but then I don't know
I hope it is to keep standard time rather than daylight savings time.
I thought it was to keep DST
Well, if you do it, maybe we will too. We had a referendum in the province that went very narrowly against staying on daylight saving time, but we like to do what the U.S. do.
*does
I have to go hand in my ballot...don't forget to vote, everyone in the U.S.!
