Ah!! The great chip/crisp debate. Here, we call french fries 'chips'. Any snack that comes out of a packet is called crisps. Tayto, Walkers, Doritos etc would all be known as crisps.

I think it's an acquired taste, probably. And I've heard tell that cooked properly it is not slimy but have never experienced it myself
I know plenty of people who don't like kr5, but I love it because I grew up with it
All I can say is that whoever discovered o4 and said, "Oh look at this slimy stuff growing out of the ground, let's eat it" must have been pretty damn hungry.

Lurker here. Weighing in on okra, it's a popular dish here in the south. It's often on restaurant menus, but it's often over breaded. Oven fried, lightly coated in cornmeal, it's delicious. Not at all slimy.
guess it's one of those things that you have to know how to cook....and it helps if you grew up eating it, i guess...i did not know what it was until i was an adult, i think....
