yes -- those are hotel rooms or suites whereas the other are vacation homes or villas (like air bnb's)
ours were more like B & Bs....breakfast included....
we usually parked in one place for a week or more and did day trips from our little house. Stayed at la Campanille or Logis de France when on the road
i did a road trip in France with my brother and siter-in-law in the '80s...we had no reservations, just a map and an outdated tour book.....we lucked into the Chambres d"Hote system and stayed in a few of those....in Normandy and Brittany...
