hello all
Good morning.
Hi! How's the shoulder?
I am doing very well. Minimal pain in the last week.
good to hear!
Is you toe almost healed?
getting there. also a bone in the foot is broken, that will take longer
Two fractures?
yes
Ouch.
Scrabs! Been wondering how you are doing.
I am doing very well, better than I expected.
Good to hear.
Good morning
hi sukee
What did I miss, what did you hurt Scrabs?
Shoulder injury 8 months ago. 3 of 4 rotator cuff tendons were torn and the biceps tendon too. Surgery was Feb 14.
Ouch. Glad you recovering.
I remember hurting a rotator cuff and it was painful. Luckily, it healed quickly
Time and PT did not help and then an MRI showed the damages.
Well, glad you got the surgery and hope it doesn't take too long for you to be pain free.
reright
Not a word, unfortunately.
Didn't stop me from trying it though :)
66 left and I am done. See you tomorrow.
wow.. just arrived and found the eights immediately, I'm pissed about the last one
I've been here a while, though on a phone call for most of it. I can't even get half on the tiles I've tried, so I definitely haven't found any 8s.
that was a clue blurt hokie

oh shit.. sorry
not a blurt if I have no idea
unless you were stating a premonition of you clue blurting
We already have Gert and Bert McBlurt. Ru, are you edging to become Kurt?
ur8.50 carla
I clue blurted that?
No, ru did
No Ru did when he said he was pissed
I need to leave a trail of popcorn for my obscure jokes
wow, everybody at my other internet place is failing wordle today. guess I better go get that over with.
I'm thinking a big neon sign THIS IS A JOKE
got wordle in four today....not so tough for me....funny how that works out.....hello all.....
maybe that would be good for a lot of people here.. anyone can whip it out when they're making a joke that people take seriously
I was waiting for someone here to say it wasn't that hard
Jokes get taken seriously here a lot
you won't hear that from me
(pulls out neon sign)
Sometimes jokes can alsos being be used as double entendre.
that's my forte
hey call, what a time to come into the chat today :)
What do you mean by that mael? Are you trying to insinuate something? 😊
not I!
Good morning, could some give me a clue for the st7
It is the on after the st4/6
I have at least 6 st7s so far
which one?
i have one that is a pt....
also have two that end in vowels....with double consonants in them....
the pt also has double consonants....
and one that is a "one who" word....
It is the one between the st4/6 and the st4/4
make that 7 st7s
I only have six s7
Freeman....that is one i do not have....
oh i found it
it's like a young actress with a different starting vowel
ty, ru...
I found it too! thanks for telling us it was there, freeman :)
Thanks
is freeman marc freeman?
any clues for the re8?
the first one
re8/50
to set up your needle to sew again....
only one i have....
to redo sewing
ty
the other re8 i have is a plural, pen - getaways, sometimes for reflection
all normal words for once
well the cl7 isn't normal
ty, hursh...
I sure can't find that one
are you saying you have the other 8 and it is also normal, mael?
the 8s I mean :)
yes
what does it start with
ur
two re8s and one ur8
ah, thanks
cl7 rhymes with an S word that means a person, especially a lawyer, who uses unscrupulous, fraudulent, or deceptive methods in business
I have the pl 8 but can I get a clue for the other one, please?
*wonders what grid freeman is playing*
thank you molly
just clued, to use a needle again
I wonder myself but did someone clue it already and I missed it????
ohhh i see, the plural 8, not the pl8, lol
*Looks for a P in the grid. *Fails to find it
Yes sorry for the confusion the one I need is the re8 the one that is not the plural.
That is why using pl sometimes gets confusing. It's not that hard to spell out plural 😊
No it's not again sorry, I'll go into the penalty box
I was gonna say rhymes with the delicious mollusk
You would get argument from those who do not find them delicious
ah thank you for that one mael. a less exact rhyme but i couldn't think of the word Molly was referring to, so having both clues helped
yw :)
phantom: artery
remembered the el6/24, after a decade of playing...
i was proud of remembering that one too!
FW!
not a bad grid, if twisty
i think i dreamed a television show. it was sort of like quantum leap in that it involved jumping from person to person, but i think it was darker
congrats, mael!
i was amused when ruru said "i only have six s7"
because that seems like a lot
but now i have 8 of them so
this grid just got frustrating to me
not a fan on the little bit I've played
i'm struggling with it, but, i'm also feeling like crap, so, idk how much that is hampering my word finding skills
hi all help with E in 4th column please
el 6/24....has the second highest point tile in the middle and ends in a vowel....
ty looking
not getting it but will keep looking
got it thank you
yw....hard to clue...
it was a good clue

Silly rabbit- don't you know Trix are for Kids?
I date myself.
I'm the only one who will have me.
If the Trix rabbit were still around he would probably be cancelled because (like Pepe LePew) he "normalized rape culture" (according to some stretchers of the truth)
how did the rabbit normalize rape culture?
And there goes The Rape of the Lock.
I don't think he did. But the way things are nowadays, I am surprised the whole name Trix is still allowed since it alludes to prostitution.
that's a stretch. Then we could not have a Pope John. Think all the witty replies, but don't take them out loud.
Well, it is a stretch to say that Pepe LePew, a romantic little skunk "normalized rape culture".
who says that?
Molly, trix is not tricks.
How about the alleged statement of transfolx wanting to erase "You make me feel like a natural woman" from Spotify? They took it back and said it was satire.
That's what I get from looking at junk news on the internet.
Whoever is responsible for Pepe LePew being taken out of Space Jam 2.
I didn't know anything about that
strar
oops
morning all
dare i point out the recent rewriting of Roald Dahl's books?
It's just more evidence of our overly sensitive culture.
i am rather sick of cancel culture. how do you learn from history if you erase it?
Isn't it illegal to re-write books?
perhaps our great great grandchildren will look back at THIS and wonder what the hell we were thinking.
not by th publisher. i can scout up the article. referrrinf to one character as fat was one thing.
TO that is a travesty. . Some things should be cancelled, or put in a museum and given proper context. There WAS a Civil War, and there WERE Southern Generals. Let them tell their stories in a museum about the civil war and not in th town square, glorified.
I am reading about it now. Apparently the words "mother" and "father" are now offensive. WTF?
If the human race survives they will be wondering about what we were thinking about a lot of things.
Where are you reading this?
A New York Times article.
In the humor section? Oh, I forgot, the Times doesn't have one.
*guffaw*
A writers work should NEVER be allowed to be re-written. What's next? Is someone going to re-paint the Mona Lisa?
i read it in the brit press, may be one of their rags, but there was a whole list of things in the publishing world, likw an aithoer who had a certain med conidtion and wrote about it but still had to go through whatever the censors are called to have it examined for offensiveness. in thes day , cannot be sure how accurate that is.
We have a little pub in the next village. We recently had about 2 inches of rain and they had to put up 40 people overnight who were stuck!! It made the New York Times!!
perhaps i can find it.
My grandnephew was reading from a book of IB Singer stories for children, and he asked "what's a bridegroom" and his mother grabbed the book from him. They are far to the right on the Orthodox spectrum, so if a book by a Jew who is not Orthodox is not permitted. Harry Potter is OK because JK Rowling is not Jewish, and Series of Unfortunate Events Slipped by them, because they didn't know Lemony Snickett is David Handler.
that wasnt offensive it just took me a long time to type!!
We are getting from the left and the right.
here is a start but not the one i read with detail in the british press. https://tinyurl.com/h6asaw48
hi dee.. i take it the guardian is not high on the list of brit news? is it a tabloid?
ooh i love the word :gobblefunk"

Meanwhile the same links lead me to Dahl's overt anti-Semitism, and the decades it took for his progeny to apology. He said some really foul things- that there is something about the Jew that makes him particularly abhorrent, therefore a likely target for Hitler.
So we're changing fat to enormous, but not reckoning with a myriad of anti-Jewish statements.
This is the problem with the inclusion movement, To include more people, the perhaps unintended result is exclusion of others.
kap i have read about that. i am shocked in real life how many people hold similar beliefs.
Are there anti-Jewish statements in Dahl's books?
no but he was not shy about voicing his opinion on them in a way very offensive to them.
Oh I know he was publicly anti-semitic, but I didn't think anything in his children's books was.
naw, did not mean to stir things up. just focusing on the rewrites. but i really wanted to find the article on the new reality of authorship in the current climate. and i am waiting for one of our friends across the pond to weigh in on th guardian. but it is interesting to see the comments on both sides, from peoplr like Rushdie.
OOdd. My chat box seems to have shrunk. The text doesn't show everything and the box moves to the left as I type so I can continue reading. Is this something new?
I should clarify. The box moves to the left as I type. I have to manually move the bottom cursor to read entries.
Just happened to me too, ch1212
Oh, good. That means it's just a glitch, and Dr. God will no doubt resolve it soon. :)
it happens when someone put too long of a string of characters in the box
it will resolve itself once the offending post scrolls off.
Thanks, hokie!
sure thing
TO's 11:16 post, still pretty high up, so we better get to posting to make it scroll off

What are the other 8's besides re8/40?

I meant re 8/50
Oh! Thanks!

I am stumped by the R in the center of the grid. can anyone help. I knew is it hard to tell what words came from which R since there are 4 and close together
I think it's re5/14.
I have an re514 that means to total up again. is that what you have
It goes up
No, it's a different re5/14
it sure does. thank you!!
You're welcome1
My typing skills are limited today.
why is that?
I am stuck with 93 left
I don't know. I went to the list with 40 left.
I will probably go to list sooner than that. will hang in for a big longer
have you read any books by Diane Chamberlain? I really like her
I haven't. I haven't really been reading much lately at all.
I just found the other 8. It's ur 8/50
ok
I read a lot mostly on my kindle
I have the 8s
smithchick had asked about the 8s, but that was a few posts ago.
Thank you!

I go back to old favorites like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which I practically know by heart so next I will tackle it in Spanish.
cl7, please?
Bye, Peri
cl7 sounds like an S word that means a person, especially a lawyer, who uses unscrupulous, fraudulent, or deceptive methods in business.
cl7/40 Like a nunnery but without the vowel.
ah, thanks
Also ends like a seafood that some people eat as "steamers"
LOL, never would have guessed it means enema
Doesn't the nun place have two vowels?
Yes, I meant the first vowel.
was also thinking nun place plus similiar to stuff grouped together, some people like to use a cl7 f word to describe a messed up sitch
I know it as spelled with an oi. Must be variant spellings
Ah, I guess so. Or I'm just wrong, lol
I love the cl7 f word.
That would be a bitch of a sitch
ðŸ˜
I also use the term fluster cluck.
wouldn't it be fluster cuck? and I had to double take there to see what you were saying that was different
or fuster cluck has a nice ring
The sound of electric tools is about to drive me insane!
I don't like the word cuck
that's why I said fuster cluck
Finally found my last 8
hello everyone - if anyone i still here
I hate this grid so much I just went and pooper scooped the yard
I feel ya! Just finished, but was going nuts this a.m with all the re's and te's. Overwhelming!
guess I haven't got down to the tough part yet -- found yesterdays so tough that I quit before finishing
I'm really sorry but the clues for cl7 I just didn't get. Is there some other clue out there?
It is a cl7. Substitute cl for the O in a kind of shellfish that you eat as steamers or people make Christmas stew out of.
google medical term for enema
The shellfish are also in The Walrus and The Carpenter. Only shellfish that starts with O
wikipedia pops up and says enema, also known as cl7
You can use Carla's clue, but it's shitty
think of the mollusk that produces pearls and substitute the o with cl
That was great got it thanks
stats for 4th col. e please?
er 6/21 - I think!
ty dipp - looking

hello everyone! just looked at old chat, whew it's not just me who loathes this grid.

managed to get wordle in 5, got the last 4 right on the 2nd word, so then it became first letter bingo
down to 24 here
my old starting word starts with the same letter, that would've helped
68 left here
yeah, got 2 letters in the first word (both in wrong spot), but guesses they were the last two letters
I had 0 on first guess and a couple of yellow until guess 4 I got some green, but then had last 4 green for guesses 5 and 6

keep thinking I finally got HOET and then I see a tile I didn't get half on
yep, there's a ur8, it's a latin plural
well I can't get the 7 either, so
finally HOET
not sure why that left A was so hard
think I thought I already had the a4s
hmm, surprised tranny wasn't on enable in 2000

el 6/24 please?
wow that's a really hard word to clue
and impossible to find
are anagrams okay as clues?
in this case, yes!
lol okay it has the same letters as realty and I think it's a plural
el+ sometimes vowel + mixed up rodent
thanks fuzzy - I had figured out what the first 3 had to be, so that helped :)
*!*~*!* - another tough one. Any clues wanted before I leave?
this is a tough grid for me
On my way - have a good evening eveyone :)

you're going to be pissed off when you find those u's
don't worry, ruru already tried that clue on me this morning
oh, bummer
so sad to be second
well, the list isn't really helping much
your other u is probably the a latin plural too
if you're missing an 8, then perhaps r8
or perhaps r6
maybe an s4 on the bottom, perhaps an s6
no, my other U was ut7.
oh
well that's completely believable
and kept thinking of actual pee for the ur's. had to look it up.
hmm, could've sworn I had ts4 already
ok, can't find the re8

found the t, was a 6 which I shoulda had
so now 1-2
oh, then your L isn't what I thought
yeah, I had the l6
but prob same 2nd letter
that what I figured
yep, found it
so just the r's now
