hello all

hey lindy
there's a blue box in the grid today
Good morning.
hi scrabs
I was off reading emails.
Do you read books, lindy?
I do
Kindle is my best friend
What do you like? I like historical fiction as my favorite, mysteries and crime thrillers too. I just finished The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.
Bichon, I just set up my Kindle for library access.
I would read that
It was excellent.
I like mysteries, sci-fi, fantasy... some other fiction
I also read a lot of non-fiction, often at same as as a fiction.
me too. Have been reading books by A G Rifflr
*Riddle
I love the convenience of ebooks. What I don't love is that you don't actually own the book you pay for, and it can be taken away at any time.
I often enjoy reading books again and again, so that doesn't really work for me
I downloaded a lot of old classics that are free. I might get to those.
The book I have re-read the most is The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. I think I lived a former life at that time. What do you re-read, lindy?
right now I am re-reading the Amelia Peabody stories by Elizabeth Peters.
I have several long series that I have read many times, including that one
That series looks interesting. My cousin is in Egypt right now. She sent photos of the pyramids yesterday.
very cool
Today they visit Petra.
I have one daughter who also loves that series, and one who doesn't enjoy that writing style.
Everyone figures out what they like. Sadly, so many people don't read at all.
my younger daughter always had to have a book to read in the car, even for a drive to my parents' house which was about a mile away.
of course, when she learned to drive, she didn't know how to get anywhere, because she never saw where we went
I was a big reader as a kid. I liked to climb the huge red maple tree in our yard, find a perch, and read. I miss those times. I admire that tree when I visit my mother.
Haha, that is funny.
afk time for doggo food and meds
Bye
Scrabs, my grandson's private school teaches Japanese. The 8th graders go on a trip to Japan. They were supposed to leave on Monday. There were a couple of Covid tests positive. Now they are leaving today. Fingers crossed
I was playing word games.
They need to wear a respirator (e.g.N95 or N99) on the plane and whenever indoors.
Getting infected with SARS-2 while traveling will ruin a trip.
back. yeah, being sick while on a trip is awful
And SARS-2 is far too dangerous.
They can't stay in Japanese homes. They are staying in a Buddhist monastary
Fascinating.
hi folks
Hello over there, welki. Good morning, Daphne.
hi welki
hi welki
she says 'woof'
My rabbits are wiggling their noses.
two just hopped past my window :)
*squeal* My local sister has 4 babies living under her shed so she has seen them hopping around her yard.
i feed the birds shelled sunflower seeds, so they're probably here for breakfast
Yummy.
it's early, but i've been watching the hummingbird migration, and filled my feeder last week (and the oriole feeder yesterday)
Hummingbirds arrived yesterday.
watching the birds return makes me happy :)
I agree.
I haven't seen any hummers yet. I put a feeder by the window next to my computer this year.
We put up a humminbird feeder. The squirrels attacked it
but I don't have any flowers near it yet
Out-smarting the squirrels, raccoons, and bears is always tough. My neighbors birdfeeders, on poles, were knocked down by a bear recently.
i found a new feeder this year - has a wide mouth, stands on it's own for filling, cleans like a breeze - it's the little things :)
I need to get ready for PT then I work at 1 and all weekend.
yes, it's best to put seed feeders away until december now to avoid issues with bears
At our old house we grew corn. The racoons ate the corn. We put pumpkins in with the corn and that got rid of them.
bye, scrabs - hope the weekend is an easy one
We've had deer eating the bird food
we get deer and turkeys eating the seed, and foxes run through the yard too
they empty our feeders, too - collateral damage :)
Sounds like you guys live in seedy neighborhoods
we pay dearly for it
or deerly, she meant to write
It can’t cost you more than a fee bucks
Few bucks
what's a little doe in exchange for such enjoyment
I just read this:In order to see birds it is necessary to become a part of the silence. - Robert Lynd
'course, i don't mean to fawn all over the idea of them eating all the birdseed
scrabs, that's true, but not only for birds :D
Yesterday one of my partners was blathering and I wanted to tell him to shut up. Some people insist on proving their ignorance repeatedly.
Cant find the N words for bottom corner N. Any help welcome
n* of the gods
some of my neighbors get together and just spend the evening talking over one another - i doubt any of them hear anything anyone says
those nights, i stay inside - i can't tolerate the noise
Of the gods…..hm. Is this a tv show or something??? I dont know it
Just watched the incredible attorney woo. On netflicks. Was an adorable show.
it's something delicious, it's said to be ne6,21 of the gods
A liquid that comes from plants
birds and bees love this part of a flower
Ty. Got the N words.
Missing the 8 if anyone has that one. Ty.
just started - turning off chat
mkg I know it is ca but don't have it
Ty aslindy
surprised it doesn't accept cardio
ca8-artery
Yes i have had that rejected before. Also rejects neuro.
Got the 8. Ty.
Off to grandparents day at my grandkids school. Free lunch too.
have fun!
Mmm, I bet it's something tasty like those square frozen pizzas they serve. 😊
Yes. Three grands in this school. Have done so many grandparents days over the years. I love that schools do this stuff now.
Molly you are right. I expect a cold sandwich on yuk bread.
I always feel bad for the kids who don't have grandparents, or don't have grandparents who live close enough to come.
Well off for the day.
I always loved the rectangle pizza when I was in school.
Oh, I love that mo5/12 is in the grid. It grosses some people out, God knows why.
I think the schools here do "special person day" and the kids get to invite whomever is special to them
That is a more inclusive way to do it.
right, molly? it's a perfectly fine word
People get all hung up on it having sexual connotations. Personally, I think of cake 😊
who doesn't want to think of cake? :D
yeah, I just assume if someone says they hate mo5 they are either a joiner or an attention whore
I have never gotten "hating words" at all. Words are just words. It is how you use them that can be harmful/hurtful.
morning all
hi kiani, how's it going?
weather is giving me a migraine
but at least it's Friday
bummer about the migraine. we have sunshine and hot today.
drizzly and gloomy here
we had great weather yesterday
ha! just made up an archaic F and it took. good ole Enable.

lol, missed that post
this is not a super friendly grid, but not too hard like we've had lately. still 29 left.
28...just found my last D
it's just certain tiles are super hard, like the T's, S, A, and right M
Well, at least there is no segni. Lots of clue asks for that yesterday.
yeah, somehow I got that on first pass. hey, I'm learning useless things here!
25 left now - 3-8-11-3. ugh, this is why the grid is not friendly for me - the 6's.
pence
sorry
hello friends
hey bea, aeb. found a word but gotta get moving. TTFN.

Our weather is summer-like today. It's about time, the pool water needs to warm up.
Any clues for the ts7?
Russian ruler + ____ Delouise
Oh, duh!!!
Thanks, MollyL!
and that's a FW for me.
DeLuise, sorry
good morning everyone :)
Been here for about 20 min. -- still don't have anything for the i - stats please?
ferric metal
4 5 combo
ty harry and cherly -- couldn't get around that twist in the road
I see in the chat that the ca 8 is an artery -- not being familiar with the latin names for body parts....
Ferric material, spoken like a true chemistry teacher
the one in your neck, that can have a dissection
You know this one Nan, its in your neck
plural of my favorite bowie song is in the grid, but not acceptable
I would have said what you do to wrinkled clothes for the I.
only one I know is the aorta
hah - I haven't done that to clothes in decades. the only time I've broking out the i4 is when my kids did fuse beads
ca + decay + Freud's first then plural
Hard to believe you have never heard of that artery Nan
Harry do you get all your dress clothes dry cleaned and pressed?
I wash my shirts and hang them to dry. they're all cotton
and I like the wrinkled look :)
ty
Cotton is the worst offender when it comes to wrinkles.
and shrinkage
my wife had to iron all the clothes when she was a kid - so now she won't iron anything. and I'm totally ok with that
amen harry
Yes Nan. Any time I buy a cotton shirt for my son, I go two sizes up
I put away the i 4 when my husband retired, but his shirts were usually permanent press, so just needed a touch up
funny how ro4 and naan are accepted, but not raita
I guess if I were a lawyer or something I'd need to pay more attention to wrinkles.
There are some casual clothes that I can handle with "the wrinkled look" but not a man's dress shirt. That needs ironing.
And hey, I wish I could give things up because I had to do them as a kid. I would have a cush life.
tripmen: lsd dealers
lol
I'm surprised The Beatles didn't write about them instead of the taxman
60 to go!
I always think it is such a waste when you can find the same word in different directions
that is always disappointing, but is bound to happen.
50. time to go - bye!
I'm going to go throw together some food. BBL probably.
Arid
Oops sorry
Back to do more. Ap[ologies.
So what was for lunch?

funny thing, i opened theclues and according to the clues I had all the s words
segni tripped up a lot of people yesterday
oh, i had that one. (music major here) hmmmm
what instrument did you major in, Book D G?
music theory, also some voice lessons
I majored Theory/composition and minored in harp and piano and French and German.
all right that is way too many subjects LOL
yeah and even went back and major in music.(in voice).
ooh found a fake piano in the grid! (ca5)
I did also
change one letter and you have a silly new word for a feline playground
with outside furniture?
yeah
well, I think you're talking about a catio and I have all the c's and am not sure of this fake piano
should i type the fake piano?
oh, a casio keyboard?
(it's a brand name)
you gots it
that's a brand name, you could have done a NTPN
not totally playable?
no tone or pitch noticeable?
getting stuck with 78 to go, argh
name that plays not?
down to 24 here
wait while i catch up LOL
omg i cleared the bottom row
Gwen.... did you find the French composer minus a last letter?
