de7
de9 x2 but not in the game's dictionary
0.1 times 1000 cm^3, plus the British spelling
but there IS a de9
ah, I've yet to find that one
it's more liquid
(and not British)
(I think this is the word you were working with??? Maybe there's a vowel difference?)
mine was a -ter vs -tre pair
yeah. the Tre doesn't take
oh wow, I had just typoed the other one, heh
check your fourth letter, maybe?
I probably typed an E for an I
yeah. typing too fast
but it's only one de9 in the end
yep, thanks, leaving the last 13 for tomorrow
I'm doing that too. And a few dozen before those 13 :-)
IIs the name of a snake a proper noun? Can't think why else du6 is not accepted - common venomous snake here.

Sorry!

Nie big grid. The poor Q is useless.
hi scrabs
oh, found a 9
Hi aslindy. Clue, please?
li9,72 a person who uses a particular worship style
Clue for na7 please ?
ty aslindy, I actually got that :)
Tough one, aslindy. I will look. Hi Une, I will look.
Tx aslindy!
scrabbler, it's very twisty in the grid
I can guess the last 3 letters.
I found the 9. I didn't give up.

Na7 please?

Welcome kiani
hi kiani
I am not understanding the na7 clue
nm got it finally
I was confused about the "irregular plural" - clearly I remember too much of my Latin studies
that took me a minute, too
hey, it's the end of the 2 weeks today, right?
yes indeed
yay, you made it!
yay!
I wish I had been able to make more progress on this project tho. It's back with dev for fixes and I can't really afford to be losing all this time
What project?
a work project - big new enhancement development that our customers are excited about
it's pretty sweet :) but it is a ton of effort
What kind of work do you do?
Software?
quality assurance - design and testing primarily - for an EHR
AAAAH. I am a physician that uses EHR and there is much room for improvement. We use Medent which I mostly like.
That is not the one I work for :)
I agree there is always room for improvement.
At another clinic we have Athena which is terrible. My sister has been using Epic but they will change to Cerner soon so all of the hospitals have the same system.
It's the eternal line of doing our best to make new things that make work easier for you, and still adhering to the govt regulations that bind us all :D
took me a couple minutes to figure out what EHR stands for.
lol sorry aslindy
There are different needs--ED, inpatient, primary care, specialists. Medent is very intuitive and user-friendly.
electronic medical record. Usually I just say healthcare IT
and I know what you do!
Almost all pediatricians in our area use Medent.
I'm a dinosaur. I still use paper records.
I used to work on our transplant specialty team, for over a decade. Loved it. But I recently moved over to the OR team to help with the need there
At the Native American clinic where I work once weekly the EHR goes down often, then we use paper.
Interesting, kiani.
I'm sure you could figure out which company I work for, but I'll abstain from saying so I can pretend I have the veil of anonymity :)
everything I say here is purely my opinion. There, ass covered. :D
That's fine. I am fascinated because I have used several systems and when I review a kid's prior medical records I see the EHR that the previous physician used.
EHR is an ongoing work in progress, as we are.
v true
But I will probably retire soon because my 4 partners want to end the mask requirement in our office and I cannot be a part of endangering everyone in our office.
my company has a mandatory vaccination requirement (which I support ofc) unless there is a legit exception
I was amazed when I heard some of the then-recent new hires quit because they didn't believe vaccines were good. How/why did you even take this job?? Blew my mind.
Current vaccines don't prevent infection or transmission, but do prevent hospitalization and death. We need improved vaccines ASAP.
yep
we don't have an enforced mask policy but we do have many people still wearing them in public areas, and offer mask-only options for larger meetings. We also use Teams for virtual meetings
People that do not fear and respect SARS-2 blow my mind. This pandemic is a mass-disabling and killing event.
Virtual meetings are smart.
I had it last summer. Took me out for a month, but thankfully didn't put me in the hospital
BRB with breakfast.
yay food!
very rare to see anyone masking around here
I really want to get back to going to church in person but very few masks there either
barely anyone ever masked at our church
Use the app "MyCOVIDRisk."

Lucky I popped in for that little clue...I'm not doing well with this grid.
I still have about 30 4-letter words left. and not many of the others.
a lot of stupid fish
don't care much for this one uggh
now you tell me...
I am here for relaxation.
are you on call this weekend, scrabs?
No, last weekend I was.
I'm glad you can relax.
Not working is wonderful.
my daughter teaches 6th grade english. she used the word "feral" abot some of her students yesterday. End of school is a beast!
For years we have noted that about 80% of kids are feral. It's quite sad.
80% of kids are feral?
we had a discussion a couple weeks ago about those children. it was the first time i had heard the term used.
Parents have relinquished their roles as parents. No more teaching, leading, guiding, setting limits, saying the word "no."
I live in a rural area with a high percentage of ignorant parents. But even in the suburbs there are problems.
and then you throw covid isolation into the mix...
feral...definition...of or suggestive of a wild animal; savage
no more talk. you need to relax, scrabs
Another term = Perpetual Toddlerhood Syndrome. Egocentrism, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, tantrums. Any teacher will tell you.
TY, Bea. I can't fix it. Parents have to choose to be the center of the family, like the solar system.
My grandson graduated prek today he is full of vim and vinegar and gets in trouble alot his parents are determined he will not act like that
kids like your grandson were some of my favorite students.
Prek?
ty Molly for de9
Yay for them, cherly. One of my great-nephews is in pre-K. Finn is very meek and quiet.
Pre Kindergarten
pre kindergarten for 4 year olds he just turned 5 the other day
there are also early childhood classes for children at risk.
There are Head Start preschools in 3 towns around here.
gets
yeah both of my kids had speech problems at first and did head start but Connell has a big vocabulary
Free clue. YW.
change the vowel Scrab
TY, cherly.
80% really?
I must be unsage because I can't find more than 2 u's
U's are easy hokie
grain of salt
found one more, moving on
one of them is womb much
Yes, ruru, it bodes poorly for the future of our country.
[pregnant pause]
wow.. that's really, really sad scrabs
Amniotic sac has popped.
but on the bright side there'll be more trump voters coming up
The work force has been dealing with these kids for 20 years of more. Poor work ethic. Bad behavior.
they can't be wrong, everyone else is
I am a little optimistic I guess. I don't believe 80% of all kids are feral.
I think the ones that are just get more attention so thats why it seems like that
In our little rural village it's bad. Teachers confirm what we see.
Good point cheryl
yep.. we're too busy spending billions of dollars overseas instead of improving our education system
I do have to admit some of the kids around here you know were raised right and they get to a certain age and just turn into followers of what they see other kids do
The parents creating respectful, responsible, kind kids humble me. These parents are leaders for their kids.
unfortunately some parents seem to think that is the schools job and leave it all up to the teachers and some teachers undermine some of the parents even if they dont mean to
Yes
And some parents really love their kids and raise them right. So let's not forget about them.
yeah that is so true
I really think it should accept "girlier" (even though the chat spell-check doesn't like it either)
I agree with you.
98 left and I am done. See you in the morning.
I have HOET and 82 left. maybe will come back later.
hi again
Just read the chat -- if computers and cell phones ever fail, current generation of school children will be hopelessly lost.
back from feeding the herd...79 left
The web certainly has made it easier to look things up but with the risk of getting incorrect answers, of course, and the difficulty of selecting the right one.
I once bought a small carved buffalo in an interesting stone that was identified as "argite". A google search found no useful information on this, so I showed it to a geologist I knew who said she thought it looked like serpentine embedded with au6 crystals.
that's cool, gillie
stuck on last 4, but need to get ready to out for dinner. bfn
have fun, nan
why are the l's so tough today
