he6: wounded on the farm?
BCOU 5557 for tomorrow
The 8/9 are weird words
caproic acid is too a thing.
I have se9 what does the other start with
py
thank you.. got them
morning, folks
hi welk
when are you hitting the road?
in a few hours :D
i know you'll have a wonderful trip :)
yes.. we have a lot planned and booked
if i recall correctly, you're stopping in vancouver for a couple of days?
yes.. on the way up and on the way back
the crocs will be a big hit at the restaurants there
oh absolutely :D
br7
she's such a good sport about shit like that
she has to be, if she pals around with you - a good sense of humor, i'd think, is a prerequisite
bumhesion - when you just can't shake the panhandler from your side
or something else, less delicate.
laughs at # 2
superglue
Good morning.
hi scrabs
What are your plans today, welki?
phantom cuisine. I guess that's food for ghosts.
I see it.
it's been a busy (and noisy) weekend here - i plan on having some quiet time. neighbors were particularly rude for the last couple of days
welki, are there lots of fireworks for July 1? We have had them for 2 nights so far.
there used to be, not so much anymore
we had a huge storm last night right at dark, so that put a damper on people shooting off fireworks.
Good. It's bad for wildlife, pets, and kids.
phantom all the -nce words
The Us and Cs are annoying.
well, the storm doesn't do a lot for the pets either
here, it was so windy, it would have been dangerous (not that that would stop anyone). truth be told, we were probably sleeping by the time any fireworks show happened
they're all annoying. I can't find any words today.
luckily, Marco is deaf
I am stuck after 36.
Lucky dog in that way.
we were at our neighbors during the storm and I forgot to turn on the cameras in our house, so who knows what winston did.
We bought him a thundershirt. Didn't improve him
we have a thundershirt that we bought for ellie, our dog before winston. I think it helped her. haven't tried it on winston yet. he doesn't freak out, just comes looking for me and sits right next to me.
it didn't work very well on murray, our border collie, although i think it gave him some comfort. poor guy ended up on tranquilizers, thanks to one of my neighbors, who in spite of being asked not to, would set fireworks off right in front of our place. there are things i would like to do to that man, and not nice things - he still lives nearby.
I will help you, welki.
we would be a force to be reckoned with. i'll sit on him, and you ... well it'd be better if you were a butcher, not a doctor :D
We would be intrepid.
cary
sounds like a good name for an aircraft carrier :)
Not a word.
but a city
My sister and I named ourselves the Intrepid Backpackers. I designed baseball caps for us. We have hiked through difficult conditions. A tropical storm was the worst.
fyi, there is no alternate spelling for cucina.
<-- ordered a "Shit Show Supervisor" cap for her husband. I'm not as creative as you are, scrabs
Hahahaha.
i have a pair of socks that make me the ringmaster of the shit show. wear them everytime i go back to KS.
Haha. Powerful socks.
weird words today
well, this grid sucks. or maybe it's me. still have 80 left. didn't even get to halfway. no HOET, no NBT.
it is a mean one
morning all! corners done ;-)
hey, dan
hokie it's not just you, slow going here
well at least I do have corners too
love the mural miss2bit helped create.
yeah the corners were the worst
thanks Bea! very proud papa, very glad she's found her tribe - so crucial for surviving middle school
I am having issues with this grid. I only have 47 words. Ugh.
i can not believe she is in middle school
rising 8th grader. me neither :-)
name that proper noun - belgian former #1 tennis player
Henin
✅✅✅
I liked her.
wimbeldon starts soon
yep
conmen still not a word
nor is cornmen 🤣
gangster al isn't either
I tried capone too
coinmen - low level debt-collecting gangsters
also pornmen
has anyone found any actual men yet?
morning all
found and 8 and a 9 first thing, that's encouraging
found a plant
hey feath
ohhh a plant. Looking now.
well, mael...I'm glad you're encouraged 🤣
feather bee, a long lost Babbler! Welcome back!
I've been here a few days, lol. snuck in quietly.
hiya featherbee
i have no -men words yet
rows 3 and 4 are looking gnarly though
Sometimes I lurk.
I've started doing some freelance data entry stuff and have been coming here to kill time while waiting for jobs
How did you learn that?
it's shitty work at the moment, there's a 10 day probationary period where you only pick up the crap low paying ones. it's through Amazon Mechanical Turk.
it all started when Sadie cost us $780 in vet bills!!!! She's ok, but I'm trying to recoup that $$ over the summer.
I would like to point out that our cat gets the pouncies all the time
is that like the zoomies for dogs?
hi dan :)
exactly so
we still call it the zoomies when it's our cats, but they do end up literally climbing the windows
our cat Griffin gets zoomies, and somehow sounds like an elephant thundering down the hall
My rabbits get the zoomies and then do binky flips.
binky flips! love that
if anybody can share the stats for the lone I in row 4?
don't have thta or the E next to it
i think its in6
en5/12
in 6
thanks, bea, that's it
will look for that E, thanks, dan
hokie do you have en 5, huge
the other e from that one is em4/6
ah, thanks, saan
and mael
sorry didn't see dan had clued already
thanks all
of course I didn't have the 4's related to the in6 and the en5, so those were both twofers
that's okay, saan, I wasn't seeing it until your big clue
and the em4 makes up most of a 5, so another twofer
I need a clue for the in6, please
this top row is not an encouraging row to start out the grid with, just sayin
think of a wifi system that works throughout your house, dan
none of the rows are encouraging, feather
oh goodie lol
in6 and en6 elude me
No, en5
en5 is shortened adj for huge
Oh, yeah, I have it. Oops.
I don't get the wifi clue
in6 is in + a 4lw that is like a holey fabric, maybe a scuba diver has a bag made out of it.
Aha, got it now, TY.
yw
I would say it's usually spelled with an e, but I reckon this is an alt sp
who dropped all the u's and i's everywhere? they're getting in the way...
Agreed.
ohhh just found the mi8
thanks, had just found the 5 and didn't think to look further
and that led me to se6 and 9
oh ty!
yw
bronies not in the dictionary
Oh dear God, there are adult fans of My Little Pony? And I thought those Hello Kitty people were weird.
adult male fans
puppies are bity
how do you know this stuff, carla?
I've had puppies 😜
but I assume you mean the bronies
how do you not know about the bronies? 🤣 just the internet, I guess.
I have been on the internet a long time and never heard of bronies
well, if anyone has any legit B words, I'm happy to listen. can only find 1
oh, found another!
py8.55
hmm, start with fire?
yes
thanks, that finished the 8s/9s
have HOET now after finding another B. 42 left. 8-14-14-6. so many 6s. this is why I hate this grid.
there is a six with the py. did you get that?
no, just got it, thanks
trying to get a single B and the right side I for NBT
think of our UK friends for the B
ty
and im5 like the a word acid
all the i's are similar
hmm. i only have one a word, so will look around a little more.
the A I'm talking about is not in grid
oh lol ok
am5 acid are molecules that combine to form protein. no idea what im5 actually is but I'll look.
nbt, ty!!!
thanks for the py8 and 9
well, I love it when a def includes the word and therefore tells you nothing
that's super helpful
these c's are difficult
the worst, Bea
still have 11 c's left
that's 31% of my remaining words
I keep seeing caprine but no
I have never seen caprine, so I do not keep seeing it. is that italian?
I just keep seeing cuisine
I guess it comes from latin, yeah, it just means relating to goats
like ovine relates to sheep
oh, like bovine
caprine: goatlike, like feline or canine
yep
I like corvine (crowlike)
tried cuisine too, alas
phantom cuneiform?
how about leporine? relating to hares
and vulpine for foxes and rusine for deer
languages are fun :)
hircine also means goatlike apparently
that one I didn't know
murine: like rodents
aquiline for eagles
mice specifically
I'm scouring my brain here, cervine is also deer
ovaltine: like chocolate
obviously serpentine, leonine, lupine
lol gremlinn
despite "ornithes" meaning birds, ornithine is just a chemical :)
ursine
as are the py words
helpful ending today!
and speaking of birds, thanks for cuing the or5
helpful for actual words in the grid? or just you all showing off your word nerdery?
there are a bunch of chemicals that end in it in the grid today :)
py8/9, im5/6, the related he5, etc
well, it's already 81F out, guess I better walk Winston
have a great walk, send some sunshine our way
found a bi7, just C5 and O5 left
go, gremlinn, go! I still have 29 left and have no clue
fw, no list
way to go! that's really impressive
second or5/14 was a bit weird
that must be my missing O then
it's a type of antelope
thanks, not sure that will help haha.
I think the only weird antelope I remember is an eland
ends in the top-right
I'll unleash the monkeys, there's only so many letter combos there
that's what I resorted to but with just o5 in general, it was taxing
16 left and I think I quit! not a particularly fun grid. Have a great day everyone :)
bye!
Ugh
wow, if mael quits with 16 why bother
any hints needed?
guess my missing H? hint for that bi7?
bi7, both sides of the political aisle
not the more commonly used word for that though
missing the he6/27?
that is odd, thanks. and good guess, will look for the H
okay, maybe gonna need a hint for that
it's a type of plant, apparently
but it sounds like it might mean "chewed on by an egg-laying bird"
must be the plant our master gardener found earlier
got it, thx
5th col gray
heh, it's actually where the name comes from, in fact
there's another plant with the last three letters changed to "bane"
btw, I've heard of hen party as a gathering of women but have learned on reddit that it is what they call a bachelorette party. and they call a bachelor party a stag party.
I've only heard the latter.
whoops, left out it was on Ask UK reddit
that's the "they"
hi all.help with lone i please
in + fabric with holes in it, like a net....
hello all...
pen! peri!
ty pen, did not have the base word
not liking this grid. bbl
yw...
carla!
you can't spell "babble" without an occasional "bbl"
not a fun one....and i still have 72 to find!
good point, grem
not fun at all, pen. I am down to 33 left, but going to do some sewing.
Any clues for the 9s or 8s? Ty
mi 9....the group with the fewer numbers of people....
Ty pen, dont know if i have seen or know this word but will try
it's an ordinary word....often mentioned in voting...
starts with someone under 18...
Got it.
It was an 8 right?
yes...
py 9....starts with slang for an arsonist and ends with a number ... it's a pl...
Would love other clues. Ty. Especially one of the 9s. Ty
Got that 9. Ty. And the 8 with it. Ty.
yw...
Missing the i word for the third column i. Any clues welcome
in + fabric with holes, like a net...
I cant think of that fabric. Darn. Ty anyway. Will keep thinking
Oooh got the holes word. Ty ty ty
it's a four letter word you may already have....
Yup got it now. Ty
I was thinking of the other N and not looking above.
Clearly no one here ever wore fishnet hosiery. I'm not surprised.
I did for college years for sure. Yup. Had them in several colors. Molly you must be my age.
I'm stunned
I always wore fishnets, both when I was a 12 year old and again as an adult. They're the best.
I might have for halloween one year
iron
SO SORRY
you should never iron fishnets
iron fishnets?.... ;oD
why would you ir* anything?
those would be heavy
very...
Some of us prefer to not go around in wrinkled clothes. Old fashioned I guess
well i am stalled at 40...taking a break....bye all...
it is very rare I will iron clothes. OTOH, my mom used to iron jeans and bed sheets/pillowcases.
and bye, pen
I don't go that far, but there are some things that need ironing
The big bucks people just send all those clothes to the dry cleaners
trap
yikes
hi all. help with the E please
nm
phantom embryonic
hi hi
Hi Harry
hi molly! what a strange grid. at least the first 1.5 rows.
What are the Hoods doing for 4th of July?
we are in bar harbor! got very wet on a hike this morning
And how was Walden Pond?
Ooo, Bah Hahbah
it was nice - though some unpleasant people showed up and we left.
Unpleasant people don't seem like the type for that place
they were lycra dressed cyclists.
Oh God, say no more, I get it
hah
Phantom pronounce (hi all)
hi gwen!
I deal with those "I will ride in the road even though there is a bike path right next to me" people every freaking weekend
these were full of colorful four letter words, mocking the lifeguard on the PA who had a speech impediment
this grid is just chock full of phantoms
Assholes
I generally try to avoid people in lycra. and spandex.
I generally try to avoid people
better idea.
hello everyone. I really would like to rearrange the letters in this grid!
just found an 8!
good afternoon, all
nan: you're probably in the majority there
have both 8's but need a 9 other than the py
se9?
ah ty for the py words!
ty gremlin -- looking
similar ending to one of the 8s
munity: what put caine on trial if he were dyslexic.
ty gremlin!
all my 8s and 9s done!
imunity: a knock-off vaccine that doesn't work
ty gremlin
Nan
How was Canada Day?
What do you do to celebrate?
Fireworks?
missing that bottom i
We celebrate the Birth of Canada in 1867 when the BNA act was passed through the British parliament united the BRitish North American colonies (Pei, Nova Scotia, Upper and Lower Canada) into one country with it's own parliament.
*uniting
I think she was asking more what you did personally 🤣
in6
harry, it's in6/21
sorry, she asked what not how. We celebrate much the same as you do on Indpendence Day
no, in6/24
ty carla. got itt
we celebrate Independence Day by watching alien invasion movies
love that movie. saw it in the theaters the first day it came out. as well as the sequel
it is just so implausible.
We had a neighbourhood BBQ
and judd hirsch has never been a worse actor. it's just so terrible you have to love it.
I'll add that one to my weird 4th of July rituals
Technically, we celebrate independence from the British. Hoorah!
But lots of fireworks
Picnics
And barbecues
we are free to use fewer letters in words. hooray!
Fewer vowels, thank God
our fireworks were cancelled because of the fire hazard - it was quite windy that night.
unnecessary letters that make no sounds
But not in all words...favour...actor
lunch time - bbl
It always freaks me out when Nan's eating lunch and I'm fixing dinner
lol, I always think the same. or when she says breakfast and it's lunch time for me. time zones, crazy!
Carla. what are you doing for 4th of July?
Hi all. Any clues for the E fourth row? Ty. Two words. Dont see either.
Just got one of them. So nm. Ty
nothing at all, molly. how about you?
probably cook out and maybe go to neighborhood pool
Are there any words with double C? Let me know please. I dont see it.
I don't think I have any
hello again...
pen!
carla!
my cursor froze....
this grid doesn't look any better than it did the last time I was here....
hi pen, not a nice grid for me
hi all
hi peri....
hey peri
I still have 33 left. not actively looking.
37 now....
6-13-11-3. guess I could at least look for the 4s
there are three P babblets....all fours....

well found all my fours except one....
27 left here

I still need 2 u's there
very nice hoke
monkey got ONE of my or5s...

I haven't played squaredle today
Don't know that one. My son got me into nerdle
runs batted in, plus two vowels inserted?
I stopped wordle when it went subscription
am i supposed to know the AP 6?
squaredle is more like this
I'm not familiar with nerdle
you been on holiday, moo?
like wordle but math equations
no...did just complete it tho
181st in speed :)
m9, wordle doesn't have to have a sub
It doesn't? I know it quit letting me do it a while ago?
I'll have to look
nice, I think I was super slow today at squaredle, it didn't even tell me a %
6-10-6-3

6-13-11-3
wow, grem finding extra words?
I was solving the math problem!
haha
hi again

the very last un- word is silly, it means the same thing as the part after the un-
made it to 30, think I will list
only because I'm dying to know what these words could possibly be
monkeys have been working hard... ;o) ... down to one...

list isn't helping me much
Co words..

Last word was a co6. plural of a bony horny part.
wow, I also thought the thing you use at a restaurant was a phantom, but there it is.
lower i word?
in6/24
usually en6 IMO
ah ty
alright, I'm done. feels like I looked up more than half of my 30. this grid is the worst. good luck, hurshy.
ttfn!
co6/27 please
nm
I would like a few more words but not seeing anything. Ugh.
Oh well, off to clean kitchen up.
clue for bi 7 please
nm
2nd or 5 please?
I'm stuck on un-6...my last of this slog.
nm FW
stuck on the 2n or 5 - my last
un 6 = unravel
anyone here that can clue the 2nd or 5 please?
It's a small African antelope with spikelike horns
ends in upper-right corner
ends in a vowel
ty gremlin
done at last
do we have a new dictionary with all these strange words coming out of the woodwork?
nope, the only word I can't remember seeing before is the ty7 - just bad luck on the letter arrangement
and maybe the antelope, though I knew the alternate spelling of it
your memory is much better than mine, gremlinn
it's mostly from playing Boggle games on other sites where you can get board after board within minutes and have lots of new words to try to remember
and 25 years of playing...
it's been 15 for me and I'm getting worse at finding all the words
