12:22 pm

tough little grid. 40 left bbl. doing laundry

12:24 pm

Apparently North America and Africa used to be one continent referred to as Pangea. They split about 2 million years ago. There is your history lesson for the day.

12:25 pm

hmm, thought that was common knowledge

12:26 pm

Oh I am sure it was something I learned once upon a time, but nothing I keep in the forefront of my memory.

12:27 pm

I don't have much interest in ancient history.

12:28 pm

this interactive map of the world lets you look at continental drift over millions of years and see where your own location would have been on old continents: https://tinyurl.com/ywa59bck

12:28 pm

2:20 pm

May I have a clue for ca6,24 please?

2:23 pm

hurshy, that is FABULOUS. Thanks for sharing the link.

2:26 pm

Did you get the CA 6,24, JenM?

2:27 pm

hurshy, now I want to share this with you. It's an excerpt from a book I'm writing. I think you'll enjoy: But something catastrophic happened around 70,000 years ago that wiped out nearly all humans. One theory posits a giant super volcano in Indonesia erupted. Whatever caused our near-extinction only 1,000 to 30,000 of the hardiest, strongest individuals survived. It was like pushing the reset button on the human race. Those few people lived throughout the African continent until some migrated to other parts of the world, and then adapted to the various climates and conditions by (for example) developing lighter shades of skin. Thus, every person on Earth today is a descendant of that tiny group who survived 70,000 years ago. This explains why most animal DNA has thousands more variations than human DNA. We descended from a tiny gene pool only a millisecond-ago in geologic time. What were we doing those first 65,000 years until recorded history began 5,000 years ago? Who knows? We apparently evolve very, very slowly.

2:27 pm

finger food, the ca6

3:08 pm

I keep wanting to put in courage

3:09 pm

I had an oops and had to run to the store for yeast.

3:13 pm

have not baked any since I went gluten free

3:14 pm

I see some people making it on line but hesitate due to the no gluten thing

3:14 pm

gluten-free baking is a whole other animal, not least for breads.

3:14 pm

I have made really nice gluten-free pie crusts.
