Stumped by the sevens. Darn. Any further clues welcome.
Just got the tr 7. Ty for epic poems clue
I have that ending but can't get the beginning
Got both sevens now. Ty for clues
got it, was looking the wrong way
Both 7s down
Those ps words are weird.
18 left, time for a break
Great sukee
surprised admin is not in enable
11 left after first pass
Great carla. I am at 22 and stuck.
just found a plural condiment. have to remind myself to look in all directions.
Ty for the clue. Will look.
Oh do you mean the sauce? Have sing and plural.
Yay FWs! Something of a rarity for me, even on small grids!
well done!
5 left here 2 4s and 3 5s, so I like my chances
Go carla!
now 2 and I am a bit stumped
morning all! corners done
splendid, dan!
you are ahead of me since one of my last 2 is an M in the corner
go go carla
the T is in the wrong place - I keep trying ight words that don't exist...
name that actress/sometimes jeopardy host!
mayim
✅✅✅ Harry wins a bucket hat with a flower on it
She's gone
like, she died?
name that okie family moving to california with a daughter named rose of sharon
14 left - 5-5-3-1
no, Ken Jennings is now the permanent host
1-1 M S here
oh, I don't know that, harry
well, that's why I said sometimes host, because she had been sometimes
Yes, she had been. We didn't care for her
I liked her
I haven't watched jeopardy in years. certainly not since trebek
but I liked her on big bang
she was great on that
I never watched blossom, but I heard she was good there as well.
well, I liked and watched blossom back when it was on but don't remember specifics.
20 here
still 2
time to start driving kids places. have a fun day
you too
6 left - Y G CC R T 3-2-1
so you have all mine and I have all yours, dan
the Ys are all 4s
the Gs are also all 4s plus a plural
thanks! do you have si5 greek letter?
nope! always miss those, thanks
there's a ch6 that's weird
so now m4, presumably ma4. I have the one similar to mael's name
and the misspelling of the italian hello :)
thanks mael!
those were my last 2 c's, I was just typing stuff.
the ch6 adds a vowel to a gorge :)
I just started, still 16 left here but I cleared those columns!
finally done! this was a very easy one today.
yay!
woo hoo carla!
Good clue mael
thanks Molly, 10 left after first pass. Hmm.
6 left, hadn't seen some lower plurals
You all must be very good with you vocabulary and spelling, I just started playing and I’m struggling to get any more than 18 4 letter words and 3 5 letter words.
a lot of it is practice at babble, the babblets come easier after 12 years or so
it takes years of practice, CH. the dictionary behind this game is not like any other dictionary out there.
what mael said :-)
:)
knowing some Latin helps
is there anywhere you can get more hints?
I only started 3 days ago.
the link that says "Lickety's Babble Clues" below the grid will show you a list. it will show you the first two letters of every word in the grid, the number of letters in the word and the total points
Lickety has a very helpufl list, it's linked below the grid!
dan and I are on the same frequency today :)
Thanks Dan2
it is kind of a "spoiler" but there if you need it. when people in chat ask for "the stats" they are asking for what lickety's list shows - ch5/14 would be a five letter word starting with ch that's worth 14 points
is the other & also a plural? and given my remaining letters would have to be a T7? I have the I6-7 combo
yes, TR7 pl
thanks hokie, that narrows it down considerably!
my last missing word is a c5 - I have the ones mael clued and the tableware
duh thanks, got it, I had the other tr6
something used to tie people up :)
last word is an m4...
or, dan, I guess it could be the plural of a very green pet
my m4 was a plural - name of the actor that played hannibal
but there's another similar to your name
oh duh, it was a very normal m4, he was the m4 character
FW!
ha. well done
woo hoo mael. I have the green pet with extra vowel and in plural, still missing a 4th c5
oh duh it was the tie up
ty mael and all cluers - firewords!
quick work today
rhymed with mael's last
I guess we were all blind to that corner
since when is the shortened word for mayonaise in the dictionary??????
since a long time ago, mkg. That one I don't dispute! and yet no admin, haha
Missing last tr word. A six. Any clues? Last one on lickety
change the ending for the tr6 that is pluralized for the 7
TY GOT IT.
Three to go.
go mkg!
Ty. Two to go. Both S words.
One last word and i cant find it with monkeys. Si 5. Darn. Any clues welcome. Ty

Oh, you are hustling your own book
Self-published
If you want to make it sound sleazy.
I'm not hustling.
Most authors self-publish these days, and there are many venues for doing so.
If I were Leonard and Virginia Woolf I would have set up a printing press in the basement and published TS Eliot.
I would like people to know that I do write in addition to paint, and I spent a year about a book about when and where I grew up. It is about midcentury culture- that is last century, assimilation, and memory, and I hope you find your way to it. But my name is not Kaplan on it.
Hustle is just another word for promoting in my world. Sleazy wasn't intended.
The Hustler? Paul Newman and I think Jackie Gleason.
Promoting is better.
Hustler magazine is sleazy.. hustling isn't
Is it expensive to self -publish?
Imagine calling "Hustler" magazine "Promotion." Would never have sold a copy.
It depends on the company. For me this is a one and done. I first went through a friend from the soul who is a professional writer/editor and she helped me organize it. I paid her her friends rate. Then I looked up companies,
Like I said, in my world, hustle = sell or promote. I have a friend who says he hustles solar panels.
shul
If I used it I would feel it was a little self-denigrating, and something I might say to be ironic. I hustle my paintings. I am Harold Hill and I hustle musical instruments that don't exist (Music Man).
When my cousin self-published an awful book years ago, I denigrated it (to myself.) There are also Vanity Presses that are different from Self-publishing presses. I worked with a team who updated me every day, and I proofread their proofreading, and amended the document. I used illustrations as well. I don't think I will make a red cent from this, (what is a red cent), but it was a labor of love.
One and done. My 8th grade English teacher--from 1968--encouraged me.
I published it to get it out there to my family and friends, and it expanded to neighbors, old-time acquaintances, Flushing and Queens Boomers (I hate that word), schoolmates, Queens historians.
The instruments existed. The musical knowledge to teach the students didn't. (Music Man)
I know, I was just being hasty. The point being that Professor Harold Hill was a Hustler, gone straight till he met the sadder and wiser Marian, Librarian. Of course one wonders what happened after they got married. Movies never tell you that.
Did he stop chasing women? Did he get bored in Ioway? There is a theory that the little boy was really Marian's son, not brother, and that was the secret she was hiding. Conspiracy theories about Music Man!
He was the mayor's son. Secret affair with Marion. That is why all the town women (led by the mayor's wife) hated Marion.
No- it was old man what's his name who she visited often and who donated the library. she was dedicated to. She would not have had an affair with the mayor. Totally wrong.
They hated her for her relationship with the old man, not the mayor. Watch your phraseology!
The mayor had low standards of literacy and the library guy was educated.
He was the town miser who donated the library, and it was he Marian Paroo visited.
I forget his name but everything in the town was named for him
last word is a c5
got it.
sorry, Harry...thought you were saying that a c5 was the last word you found...
that's probably my missing C anyway... ;o)
probably the ch seed with an extra vowel
ah, found it...

apparently it is a chinese coin usually spelled with J....
oh no, not another little one!
yes....drat!
3 left...

you found 75 words in 8 minutes??...
amazing....i am stuck with an A 5 word....
75 in 6, 78 in 8
i mean, we'd find that many in a big grid too
there are two a5 that are plurals
and one that is an ordinary word
yes, but that is much easier, I think...
i have two plurals...
then you need the ordinary word
hmmm....
my dad always said the first step is to ad5 the pain
that was it....done....
^5
congrats to you, too....
heading out....bye all....
Hurshy, you used the past tense. Did your father pass? If so, I'm sorry.
