well, yes. I do read dictionaries. I edit books for a living, so yes I do run across these words. They are getting harder to remember though.

first day of school today so it's blessed silence in the house

several counties in MD also started on wednesdays... seems strange to me, but i guess it makes that "first week" a little more bearable. lol
I read that Baltimore scratched 52 bus routes on the first day of school (yesterday). Parents are shit out of luck and have to find transportation for their kids. Lack of staffing.
Howard isnt doing so well with their bussing either.
my friends high schoolers waited over an hour for their bus. parents finally drove them so they wouldnt be late. apparently bus showed up after the middle school buses -- well over an hour after schedule.
I can't believe the amount of people driving/picking up kids from the elementary school around the corner from me. The line to pull up and pick up kids is 50 cars long when I go by in the afternoon. It's insane.
I remember driving my kids to school when their high school bus didn't show up. Luckily it was not that often.

sounds about right to me, based on my experience. i get in the pickup line nearly a half hour early so that it doesnt take an hour to grab my kid. lol
I pick them up sometimes when they have activities that conflict with the bus schedule
yeah, I took a bus every day of my life. my kids mostly rode the bus. I hated doing the car rider line because it was crazy. and people would get there 45-60 min early and just sit in their cars waiting. like, you got nothing else to do?
actually, once I was in HS I bummed rides from friends.
i was a "walker" in ES, but my mom usually drove me to school. i walked home.
bus in MS and HS.
K would be a walker if he lived with me full time.
we're too far to walk, that would be nice :)
my neighborhood was off a narrow two-lane road with no sidewalks or even shoulders. not walkable to anywhere. though once in HS, my brother missed the bus and walked home via the railroad tracks.
i feel like hes too young to walk alone, so im kinda happy for him to be a car rider on those icky weather days. lol
