Happy flip
tr7 and happy flip to you, too!
lots of words in this one that were also in the last one
I've already blocked that out :-)
1:59 AM will go straight to 3:00AM tonight due to Daylight/Summer Time starting tonight in North America.
and a good flip to everyone

Off for the night, hopefully back tomorrow for the rest. luck in the grid, all
g'night
It often seems like words get carried over from one grid to another, but it's hard to tell if it's just accidental. It could be something to do with how new grids are generated.
G'night
I suspect it's actually purely random. But sometimes, a lot of the same letters appear, and we notice it.
Well, you need some basis to build a grid on. Selecting a few words at random from a previous grid could be a way to do it.
Hmm. I suspect it's just a weighting of common letters and then some odds rather than seed words.
But I don't know. Maybe Dr. God shakes a big boggle grid each day and that's what we get :-)
I had a Computer Science professor who assured us that our exams would never be scheduled too early in the morning. He was responsible for the algorithm that did the scheduling of exams for the university, and it need some pre-scheduling to build on.
And it probably needed that first cup of coffee, too....
It made me wonder about a different professor in the department, who complained that her exams always seemed to be scheduled early in the morning.
ha!
Anyway, down to 30 left, so g'night, and thanks for the calls
G'night!
If I have read correctly the grid starting time will be an hour earlier from tonight/tomorrow ?
I think so ursh
Going back to an earlier discussion, there's definitely a trend of picking up letters from the previous grid. Often more obscure letters too.
an hour later, ursh.
An hour earlier in the southern hemisphere!
It's an hour earlier here too - our clocks don't change until Easter Sunday (at which point it'll flip here at 6am - now it flips at 5am)
This is like the scene in "The West Wing" when they're trying to figure out what time it will be when the President gets back from Japan.
Any clues for the u words welcome. Ty
Also need clue for the L word
Found l word.
But still need u word clues. Ty
ur6/24 goes down the right column
Ty. Got it. Ty.
Found both. Ty
Stats on the 2nd one?
Ur 6 24
nvm!
Change ending.
Thx mkg
STILL MISSING N WORD FIFTH COLUMN N.
Oops sorry for caPS
Ahint
Also need the A word for the A next to the N.
I'm missing it too
an5/10 = Latin plural
Starts with picnic pest
Do you have the n Scrabs?
No, but I will look.
na5/16 = woman's name
I didn't know that was a word, but I'm sure we've had it before. Thanks much!
Ty got the a word.
Got the N word. Ty

Name That Proper Noun. Ancient Greek Centaur
Well done for the day.
WooHOO!
Chiron
Very Excellent, scrambler! You win a Bugati Chiron
Cover
Rats! Sorry about that!
Tain
Train
morning folks
Haha. That's a tiny car.
Over
Good morning, hurshy. 9:57 here if you remembered the time change.
But it a 2 million dollar tiny car!!
hello friends
2 million?
yes, well, it's easy now cause phones and computers automatically switch. you can't really forget it
Yes, but I have to change the time on battery-operated clocks, the stove, the microwave, etc
Hi Bea
right but the others switching is a prompt to do so
i mean you can still hate it, too. that's not different.
i dislike it interferes with my natural rhythms.
My youngest sister drove from NC (EST) to TN (CST) yesterday so had a lot of time changes in the last day.
Sorry, 3.3 million. My car dealership sells them. I drool every time I go there.
Crain
Cain
Oh, my, godthaab.
I mean the price, not your words.
it's so dumb too, you would think that since it leads to more accidents and costs the economy billions every time we switch the clocks, congress would end this insanity and just pick one and leave it.
Sorry, I am going this on .y phone, which I rarely do
but noooooo, heaven forbid they actually do something helpful
Isn't there a proposal to end the time changes?
yeah, but i don't think it's "real".
i thought so, scrabbs
i know a year or two ago the House staffers all conspired to push it through and not tell the reps they worked for that they were having a vote on it so it passed unanimously
but of course that didn't do any good because the senate didn't go for it
not fond of time change so early, but enjoy the extra freedom of dricving in daylight.
you can have it be the DST all year if you want, just NO SWITCHES
having managed to accommodate to it for so many years, no big deal.
but it IS a big deal, i just said how it causes tons more accidents and costs the economy billions every time
just because you don't feel that it has affected you doesn't mean it is no big deal, it is literally bad for us
whatever
"more people dying? whatever"
Good morning, Owl.
well, good morning to you, scrabbler. nice to see the sun today!
It is snowing hard here. We will get 5-7 inches by tomorrow.
omg, i thought folks were kidding about snow.
At least you don't have to drive in the snow if you don't want to
Winter is never over when we think it is over. We had an early spring.
The bunnies will need greens tomorrow.
hmmmm
they so not need them daily?
I will run out tomorrow. I buy greens twice weekly--escarole, parsley, cilantro, green leaf
They get morning and evening salads.
last night i saw some video of bunnies eating, it was so cute
bye scrabbler, catch you tomorrow.
Bye, Owl
howdy
ooh, sunday AM has a word segment today, scrabller!
about the vowel "i"
I don't have a TV
Governess, how are you doing?
stream later
hiya scrabble, its a fine sunny day here
Good idea.
i thought you were a fan of the show.
Ha, we have a snowstorm.
I used to watch it, Owl, but then I cancelled cable.
ah...i am thinking of going to an antenna. but the best option i picked up when tv brike- wean away in favor of reading or an occasional show or movie on dvd
so no antenna for local channels?
I stream from Amazon Prime. I should get an antenna.
they are pretty unobtrusive now. i have been researching.
antenna works well here, we also do prime and we each choose a streaming service. currently i have paramount.
Anyone have the lone i?
I think I will get Paramount Plus.
have new tv but not yet streaming anything. the privacy issues i saw when setting up tv gave me pause.
in6/21...lone i
I have it. In 6/21. Go straight up and take a left at the top
the newer smart tvs have plenty of their own stream options, like channels with a line up of old shows
in6, you'd think it would be two words
later, babblers. have fun.
bye 72
TY
scrabbler paramount has all the star trek. and then i'll have to switch to netflix for a bit when the next bridgerton comes out.
do you miss watching hockey, etc?
Yes, I miss hockey. For football I go to my cousin's house.
I recently started watching the FBI series.
FW! Enjoy, all!
Amazon has the International show but I need Paramount for the others.
Congrats, Champ.
What is the FBI series?
FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI International I think they are on Tuesday nights.
ty

A substance used in nuclear fuel rods, among other things

only place I can think of where that in 6 might be one word rather than 2 is when describing the way a rock is thrown in curling (which I found because I happen to be watching the Brier semi-final right now :)
,
just read your profile Gillie - well said
tu 6 please?
ends like a Mexican food. common on Tuesdays.
have no idea what is eaten on Tuesday in Mexico :)
well, at least in the US ;)
oh, that food is a ta4
great clue @ dcseain.
closest I've ever come to mexico is Phoenix or Palm Desert ( other than a game at a golf course close to the border in AZ -- property formerly owned by Cliff Montgomery I think
any other clue besides mexican food?
2 words with that one clue! thanks dcseain
nm - monkeys found it
crispy or soft shell :)
sorry seain -- mexican food isn't exactly all that popular in my neck of the woods
Well, we've definitely heard of ta4's
just looked it up --- apparently there are 10 mexican food places around town -- never been to one though
yes - see Ta 4 bells all over the place in AZ and CA
You could probably even buy a Old El Paso ta4 kit in a grocery store
in some of the larger ones maybe. Come from a Scottish background - definitely not part of my diet!
any clues wanted before I leave?
I'm good, thanks :)
I think I'll be alright
have a good day - back to the curling :)
tight game between SK and AB
Everyone has a right to their opinion, but I disagree that "violence is the only option to obtain justice."
I too do not subscribe to that theory, but have many friends who do.
and firewords!
I encourage everybody to read Isabel Wilkerson's book Caste, if you haven't. It is the book that the movie Origin is based on
I'm not in favor of using violence to get justice, but I understand how people can come to believe that it is necessary, when their plight is otherwise ignored. I certainly don't think that the so-called "war" that Israel is waging against Gaza is a useful or proportionate response to Hamas's terrorist activities. The recent violence and kidnappings by Hamas were vile, but Israel is responding with genocide against a population that has no means to defend itself or to end the war. Gaza's residents don't control Hamas, and Israel's government seems to think that the appropriate response to an atrocity is an another atrocity.
And, to be blunt, there are situations where violence may be the only conceivable way of achieving justice, as for instance when individuals are held against their will, are under occupation or under attack. The only alternative is for someone else to come to the rescue, and that hasn't been happening for the Palestinians.
and rescue would also often involve violence. evening Gillie
do you have a clue for the tr7?
absent student
thanks jeanne
yw
how about the first ca6,27?
Darn, I don't list, but I guess I don't have it either! So your clue at least helps me!
there are 2, the second one is a deep gorge
it's my last word - how many do you still need?
duh. Thanks, jes!
too many, lol, down to 34. I seldom finish anyways.
well, puppy wants walked so guess I'm giving it up.
