We went to kentucky for last one and it was an amazing experience. It got very dark and birds stopped chirping and the quiet was amazing.
Was in the path of totality in the May 1984 event. Crickets and frogs woke up and birds got quiet. Pretty darn cool.
Um, you have to have a very expensive camera to get decent eclipse photos. Your cell phone won't cut it.
of course, it's overcast and drizzling rain today, lol
Also, just as viewing the eclipse without proper protection will damage your eyes, it can damage the lens of a camera.

This year's eclipse where I live was less interesting than the one in 2017 to me.

the totality in Cleveland was amazing. full "diamond ring" and about 4 minutes of 360 "sunrise" and a few stars. Probably dropped temps 15-20 degrees F
