Honestly what I remember most about her is that she called nearly everyone in her life stupid. Her maid was stupid, her daughter in law was stupid, her son had caught the stupidity from her daughter in law, a random person she ran into on the street was stupid . . . It was her favorite adjective.
And that she absolutely hated Sprite for no reason I could ever discern

RIGHT. Kindness I can see, but flirting? SPRITE? NO, just no.
But I can also see ruby holding it against her; I saw some one in here say that someone ruby was mad at didn't do anything wrong, and the vitriol that brought out was pretty impressive. Impressively toxic.
Elderly - and perhaps she had medical issues we were not aware of - chronic pain or illness can cause uncalled for nastiness.
That's what I always assumed honestly.

If kindness rose to the level of defending that someone, yeah, that's a thing I've seen ruby do.
There's a lot more to the RubySprite story than was revealed here. I don't think we should draw conclusions from online chat.

There is more to it and that was between Ruby and Sprite and whoever they chose to share it with.
I never really cared enough to ask; I just noted that bringing up Certain People in front of other Certain People would cause unnecessary drama, so generally I didn't do that.
I never found Ruby to be "toxic"
She was, occasionally. It wasn't an every day thing. But sometimes everyone in the world who wasn't her was a stupid moron who couldn't manage to do anything right.
And I've typed "console" three times and still can't quite believe that it's not a word today.
I think the drama was around Sprite wanting to come to Ruby's when GrannyRose was visiting with her husband Don. Ruby asked her not to come as it was too much for her, and Sprite was insisting on coming anyway.
Maybe? All I'm sure of is that it was *so* dramatic that I avoided chat when they were here at the same time. I miss Sprite.
Maybe we can move onto something else and stop speaking ill of the dead.
