Interesting. Not heard of it and was employed in clothing industry here for some 20+ years

12:13 am

And now, looking at that, I see that it is *not* spelt "fustion"

hellp with Middle O and the E beneath it please

I am quite positive I have called someone dorkus more than once in my life. I bet the enable makers heard it in their lives.

1:20 pm

still trying to make my way through this board the first time

the middle O is alright and the E is the volcano

1:21 pm

found one of the middle O words

still stuck with 10

1:21 pm

sheesh ty for those carka

1:21 pm

59 here

1:22 pm

100 here but I went to exercise class and did errands

lol, peri. I couldn't see the o set either. ruru had to help me.

1:22 pm

50 now...and am on the bottom row

and I know carka was a typo, but my cousin used to call me that

1:23 pm

okay, gonna call that first pass....44 to go 14-14-12-4

1:24 pm

bbl

yeah, I think I had 50 or 60 after first pass. it's a slow burn one. lots of hard to see regular words.

1:24 pm

5OFOET

1:25 pm

4OFOET

1:30 pm

one stubborn C away from 3

1:31 pm

there we go...3OFOET

I still need 3 C or I would have 2OFOET

1:32 pm

have I mentioned today yet that I dislike K's?

I think hurshy did earlier, but not sure about you.

need 2 k's

1:33 pm

they're the most makey-up of made up words

true dat

1:34 pm

I still need 3 on S, N, R, D, C and P...so got some work to do there

1:35 pm

cross the s off

I am pretty sure I have tried all kombos of 4s and 5s possible on the K's so must be bigger

1:35 pm

and the n

what was your S? hurshy & I could not find the last one.

1:36 pm

oh, still have 2 more there, meant to get under 3

ohh

1:36 pm

but I did find a dr seussian st6

I made up quite a few ST words, so probably have it

1:37 pm

6/30

yep

1:37 pm

:)

1:38 pm

now just need one C to get 2OFOET

same

ooh, found one!

1:39 pm

5-8-5-3

2-2-3-2

1:42 pm

found another made up k

I have 7 and think 5 are made up words

and the other two are spelling out letters

1:44 pm

I have 8 and I think they're all made up

which is dumb

1:45 pm

well one isn't, it's a currency so I'll give them that

1:46 pm

Estonian currency that hardly anyone knows

true

3:12 pm

I don' like C words or K words. Only haveone kword

there's a ka4 and 6 set that is a boxing term, short for knockout, and then for some reason they decided to spell out the letters.

3:15 pm

thank you carla

3:15 pm

have 4 K words now

3:16 pm

not doing well with this grid but will plod along

still just stuck at 9 left but doing other things instead

decided to list. these 2 c's are still a mystery.

just had to type that and then saw them

3:53 pm

still 16 to go here

3:53 pm

TT SS NN RR K DD CCC PP

well, struggled with the K's too.

and now the P

3:54 pm

found a t

and now the R. glad I didn't keep looking for these blind.

3:57 pm

I assume you prefer "OK" (short for "oll korrect") to "okay"?

I do use OK more. but honestly had no idea about oll korrect. is that german/

3:58 pm

hiya

I just thought okay was the word but ok was the short version

3:59 pm

Hi - no there was a weird fad for abbreviations of misspellings when it came into to use

4:00 pm

hello everyone - just starting out :)

4:01 pm

"OK" started as joke, basically, but somehow caught on

weird, thanks

4:03 pm

The spelled-out version of the knockout word probably came into use because it's easier to use as a verb (rather than "KOed" or "KO'ed")

it was probably invented by the scrabble folks to have more k words. like za.

yes i just heard of za. ridic

well, it's also really 'za, so when did scrabble start allowing words with apostrophes too?

beats me. i no longer play

my son & I occasionally play scrabble when he visits and I used to have the 2 letters memorized, but we agree to be able to use the 2 letter list and I think they've added a lot.

4:11 pm

Well, I think "kayo" has been used legitimately as a word in the past, but it doesn't help that all of the examples of its use given by dictionary.com are in some other language.

4:14 pm

And I think some other words that should have apostrophes have made it into Scrabble, although possibly by accident (e.g. "'twas", short for "it was")

4:14 pm

But "za" does sound pretty suspect

4:18 pm

K words do seem to be pretty weird in general

4:19 pm

Definitely not my favorite letter

4:33 pm

not liking this grid at all - 2's 0 minutes and only 99 words, no 8, no 9 and one 7

4:34 pm

darn keyboard is sticking on me again

4:39 pm

I recently popped a batch of keys off mine and cleared out a surprising amount of gunk - it's working a lot better now (especially the space bar)

4:40 pm

Probably easier just to buy a new keyboard, though

4:41 pm

(the space bar was trickier to put back on than I'd anticipated, but I managed it)

4:48 pm

One of the 8/9 pairs is pretty ordinary, but a bit twisty. The other is slightly unusual spelling of the same.

4:53 pm

You could say that they are hard to de6

rehi - I need to take my macbook to apple. they will clean the keyboard and it's gross right now.

4:56 pm

An excellent eco-friendly alternative

4:58 pm

I think nan has left the chat, however

elvis has left the building

intrlerk

5:51 pm

hi again - yes, I did leave the chat

5:53 pm

of course i had the less-ordinary of the two do6-7 combos...

5:53 pm

wish that top o was an a -- a lot of -tion words then

5:54 pm

no that wouldn't work either! the s needs to be an a

5:54 pm

there wouldn't be any, actually, lol

5:54 pm

jinx

5:55 pm

think I need to go to the chat from last night to see what the 8's and 9's are

5:55 pm

or i can tell ya

5:56 pm

they are all de

5:56 pm

alt sps of each other, singulars and plurals. a quartet, you might say.

5:58 pm

ty hurshy

5:58 pm

yw

6:27 pm

still need k x3 - suspect they are "words" never seen or heard of before

6:28 pm

morning nan

6:29 pm

oh, hurshy, g'day

6:29 pm

hi rose

6:29 pm

would you like a hand with those k words?

6:36 pm

sure -- have ka x2, ko, kr x2,

6:37 pm

guess I need 4 more

6:41 pm

kr 5, how Bing Crosby sang, with a k instead of a c

6:41 pm

then add a vowel for kr 6

6:42 pm

had the 5, ty for the 6

6:42 pm

ka 4, what it is called when a boxer is punched unconscious, ka 6, past tense

6:43 pm

have those, ty

6:44 pm

kr 5, slow and very quiet walking, but spelled with a k

6:45 pm

see that christopher robin's friend is in the grid

6:46 pm

ty again

hi all, diving in, doink doink

nbs woot

nbt at last
