There's a shortage, has been for years. A bunch of people with time on their hands got diagnosed during the pandemic (it's a lengthy process) and it's been in short supply since then.

Yeah, Shell, I have friends who have been dependent on their meds for years and suddenly can't find them. It's not good.

U.S. farm subsidies apparently benefit families with higher-than-average incomes and a lot of corporations beside, and tend to distort production.
They absolutely distort production. There's no real way for government subsidies not to.
I mean in the sense of determining what actually gets produced, vs what is needed and economical.
A lot goes to low-quality corn that ends up being used as a mandated fuel additive
This was supposed to reduce fossil-fuel use, but in practice it doesn't really do that
Anyway, subsidizing farms may be a good idea in theory, but the way it's evolved is a bit of a mess
gillie, i am so sorry to hear about the 'wealthy farmer' the NJ governor did something like that decades ago with 'christmas tree farm' .. i for one, support local farmers whenever possible ... our country was founded / feed by them ..
