hi Temple Owl! Long time no see, how are you doing?
sweltering.
long past bed time
it is tough to sleep when it is so hot
yes. getting ready to travel and things are a mess. first time over.
how are you?
pretty good, all in all. My husband's retirement just started and it is a gamechanger for him. So much more relaxed now.
change for you as well. my firends thoguht that would not change them, just him. they say different know
now. their life has changed as well
I was already used to having him home most of the time, so that is all good. I like the more relaxed version of him even more, grin.
nice
i have to go. not usually chatting, just playing. but i need to get some sleep, many things to do for trip. see you
have a great trip and sleep well
thank you.
*hugs* sprite. lovely to see you again.
unexpected to me em8
sorry sorry sorry, nature called and I had to answer
hiya seain
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend!
i supposed if you could have em7, then em8 should also be accepted.
hello, sprite, best with the retirement, but it sounds like yall are well set for a lovely time.
yeah made sense to me too, but I am not sure I would have tried all by myself
agreed, rose, i’ve just never seen those spellings.
there you are.... thought you had fallen in, or been side-tracked by Rob. lol
think it will be great, seain. Rob was already working from home a lot, and we have lived for more than four years in a small caravan, even during covid, so we are used to being close together all the time. I see less of him than a year ago, lol. He has picked up a new passion, archery.
:)
phantom trireme
sprite, seain, i went to have my nails done, and this lady sat down beside me. i casually flicked a glance at her, and nearly fell off my chair. it was one of the nurses i used to work with at my last post.all our excited chatter had the staff grinning from ear to ear. at the moment she has stopped nursing, and is now a train driver.
ooo good one
how lovely, rose
oh wow, that is lovely, rose!
yeah, and she wants to stay in touch still. we did work well together back in the day.
i’m enjoing the chatting, but i need to be up early enough to get cat food, come home, go to the metro and into DC to meet a friend an the Smithsonian Natural History Museum around 12:30. So i should sleep, as the sleepy side effect of my diuretic has kicked in.
Happy babbling, yall!
sweet dreams seain
sleep well, seain!
and g’day to you, rose. :)
thanks, sprite
now it's my turn. bbs

fi4flies. *hugs* my darling, sleep well tonight. Bye all!
nice sort of day if you take it in small bites with the cleaning. what's Rob doing?
Not sure what his plans are. He enjoys his freedom, grin.
*hugs* my sweet girl. have a good day. now i am going to fold and sort clean laundry. xx

'morning, ru
hi welks.. you been able to golf now?
in between wind and rain, yes - golfing more than i ever have. pretty amazing that i haven't improved even a tiny bit
a gal just joined the group, moved here from parksville (you were looking near there for a while, i think)
I don't know how people do it.. i'm just not coordinated for that game.
neither am i, ru - but once you get over the hit the ball, fetch the ball, mindset, it can still be fun
it helps that i golf with folks that don't give a rat's patootie about rules and score
that's good. it was that way when I started tennis, but got a lot better though
pg wodehouse wrote a lot of funny short stories involving golf
it's just good for us to be outside. we're planning a camping trip next month, will be camped alongside a trout stream in the middle of nowhere
that's cool..
thanks, hursh - i've looked them up and will try to read them
haha! "She could not have gazed at him with a more rapturous intensity if she had been a small child and he a saucer of ice cream." Thanks again, hurshy, this is going to be fun :)
I liked his Jeeves stories.
i think i might go out of my comfort zone and get these stories as audio books - hearing them with a British accent might make them even funnier
(the british accent in my head only makes them slightly funnier)
:)
i just had a nap lol
glad the one comment i threw in before falling asleep bore such fruit
Ss Smacked!
hurshy, more than you know - i'm done with the first story. pity my library doesn't have them, only samples, but i'll find them somewhere.
i think i bought "the golf omnibus" as a used book myself
Thriftbooks has a lot of his titles.
one of my favorite small details when watching The Crown was that when Mohamed al Fayed hired that British servant who used to work for one of the royals or something, and asked him to teach him what he really needed to know to fit it and be accepted by the Brits, the guy handed him PG Wodehouse and said "read this".
hello everyone! Could someone please clue me the to5/10
found it
ohhhh, that's a great site! but .. always a but .. it's in us dollars and they charge just about the price of the book for shipping to canada
maybe i'll wait until next time we're south of the border and take advantage of their free shipping to u.s. addresses
I get buy a lot of books from them ... being south of the border.
*buy rather
hmmm, now what can my last F be...
fi7 maybe?
i have one of those... which i think comes from the lower F? my missing one is from the top
My last 2 (just entered) were fe6,27 and fr5,16
have fe6/27, very vowelly word
have 4 fr5/16s
It's the fr5,16 then - ends with a metal
no that's one of the ones i have :(
Sorry - the fir fe6,27 is another spelling of the mythical person
this suggests it's something obvs that i should have gotten, instead :(
There are 2 fe6,27
ahhh, thanks, i had the latin plural one but not that one!
apparently that is a scots adj meaning healthy and strong
Oops - I just assumed it was the little winged person
yeah but i've discovered that a lot of times these words aren't what i think. like sinh, i figured they were including from math, hyperbolic sin, and didn't understand why tanh didn't also count, but it turned out there was a whole other unrelated meaning for sinh
so lately i try to click the ? more
Dictionary.com only seems to know about hyperbolic sine for sinh
i don't remember what the other thing was but
it was a whole big thing in chat the day i found out
I see that Wikipedia shows it as an item of clothing
there ya go
0-1-5-0-1-1
got the 5
i see broll said or9, so i need that
aha got it
for 8s i have em, ro, sq, anybody have the other one?
There's another ro - I'm trying to find it
is the one you have a circular traffic feature called a roundabout in the UK
No - found it using MoreWords - it's French, means "a person of low rank; plebeian"
don't think I've seen it before
points?

good morning everyone :)
thanks gillie! morning nan!

if i qu5 from Shakespeare doesn't that make him the qu**ee ?
I think so.

*seems
oh it was french for 4 that i needed.
fw - have a good day, everyone!
last word for me was ... au revoir means 'til we re6.
So long, farewell
surely "quorate" is in the dictionary used by this site?
Hahaha, you must be new
nope
weird

se 6/21?! Stre-e-e-tch
same goes for the se 6/21
*meant the te 6/21
through the list - 13 unfound but that is ok -- probably something weird and wonderful.
hagd everyone
hello to anyone still here
I just came back
bea!
Been out woking at the farmer's market. It's hot!
yeah, I played tennis and it was terrible
Around here they are recommending against outdoor exercise
it is slightly cooler here. I think we're just outside the heat wave. My watch said it was 79 but it felt more like 95 in the sun.
currently says 89 feels like 93
Mr. B left for Germany. The AC is all mine
Finally we had rain
we had a lot of rain and now it's been over a week maybe without any.
I was tired of having to water every day
We planted a red bud tee.
we lost half of a big redbud tree, now we are going to have to get a big umbrella for our porch
That's so sad. A neighbor has one. I admired it so much.
I love red buds. Great native tree that hosts lots of insects.
I think the other half will eventually fall too
Sounds like a perfect opportunity to plant a tree :)
We have two tulip trees in our yard
those are nice too
I want to get some pawpaw trees
Mr. B dug them up in the nearby forest
I think one of the peaches is about ready to pick!
ooh, found a 9!
but still 43 left after first pass
found the other 9!
sq9?
Oh, you have both. Haven't found the other yet
forgot what the first one was. do you want to know?
oh, there it is
Not yet. Barely been here fifteen minutes. But thank you.
ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
have 2 8s but only 1 7. that's unusual.
I am sad but unsurprised that semiote is not in the enable dictionary
I am neither of those things. 🤣
OK. Half an hour in, 39 left, will come back later. Or not. See y'all.
34 left here. later.
bea, I'm baffled by the left A. only found 1.
af5.16
left A
oh
the other left 😜
am5 an at4/5
oh dear. the at's is what I was missing, thanks.
those are the easy ones
I know
well, made it to 25. 4-6-10-3-1 always the 6's. FFF MM QQQ RRR EEE M RR TTT R F U SS
There are two RO 8's
namaste
quim is not a word? yet the C word is...
Never heard of quim as a similar slang word as the c word until you mentioned it.
I've never heard it either, but trust that it's thing.
Any clues for the 9s welcome with stats. Ty
or9 exetredns the or6 before it.
sq9 follows from the sq6 and sq8
I have a cat walking on me, sorry for typos.
Ty

I have squ 6 but not the rest. Looking but not succeeding.
It is a shape.
Got second sq 6. Term for a person.

Ty dc still searching
went to list. It isnt any of those i have.
Hmmm
Not getting it. Even with lickety. Nope. Sorry
Not getting endings.
Darn.
Does the six it builds from end in E?
I got it! Whew. That was tough.
Not to find the 8 and 9
Got them. Ty. Shew.
:)
I took me three tries to get the right ending for the or9, so keep trying different ones.
both come from the bottom o
and the 8 is twisty
