morning babblers

12:36 am

good morning, yall

12:36 am

i’m going to sleep soon.

12:36 am

hiya seain!

12:36 am

hi, sprite! i hope you had a good weekend.

12:37 am

nice and relaxed, how about you?

12:37 am

cooee and *hugs* sprite, seain

12:37 am

*hugs rose* Hello my sporty friend! :D

12:38 am

Saturday, the Smithsonian Institution had a Longest Day Festival with the museums open until 23 and various events, had a lot of fun!

12:38 am

* blinks* thought that was spotty for a second...

12:38 am

sounds great, seain!

12:38 am

nah, not spotty, you have an amazing complexion

12:39 am

got to hear some modern NE European atonal compositions, for example, that was joyous. so was the pipe organ theremin from Austria. The EU Arts Council was one of the sponsors.

12:39 am

hello, rose

12:40 am

*giggles* glad to see you were able to relax sprite. seain, that sounds amazing.

12:40 am

pretty intense, seain, those atonals.

12:40 am

it really was! Though the Hirshhorn — the modern art museum — was VERY crowded. 35min line for the coffee bar.

12:41 am

they, are sprite. It was so cool getting to see the techniques used by the both the violin and the cello.

12:41 am

I never ever want coffee that much, grin.

12:41 am

:)

12:41 am

very interesting, seain. And I love the theramin.

12:42 am

i didn’t but the friend i was with did, so stand in queue we did.

12:42 am

seain, you sound like me about the modern ballets. so very different from classical, but so interesting nevertheless.

12:42 am

the things we do for friendship ;)

12:42 am

the Austrian woman who designed it had 8 organ pipes wired as theremin, plus a point where each pipe played a cord, very cool.

12:43 am

amazing

12:43 am

it was her pandemic project, and quite amazing to witness.

12:46 am

oh! And misquito-borne dengue fever is now in Florida here in the United States. Learned that today. Yay climate change. :/

12:46 am

oh that is not good. I hope you are all careful

12:47 am

ugh seain, maybe i'll stay away from there.

12:47 am

i live in Virginia, near Washington, DC, likely a few years before it reaches here. I should see what vaccines are available.

12:47 am

is there a vax for dengue fever nowadays i wonder

12:48 am

three minds same thought. If there are vaxes, get them!

12:49 am

apparently there are two vax's available.

12:49 am

There is a vaccine, for 9 to 16 year olds and peoyple living where the virus is known, so at least part of Florida. And it’s effective after diagnosis also. It’s a tetravalante attennuiated virus vaccine.

12:49 am

only Dengvaxia here in the US.

12:49 am

oh, right. I had one of those for breakfast

12:50 am

*giggle* with or without maple syrup?

12:50 am

they told me maple syrup may lessen the working, so without. But honey is okay.

12:51 am

eggs over easy?

12:51 am

oh, interesting re the maple syrup vs the honey. Thou honey has antibacterial properties, unlike maple syrup.

12:51 am

never eggs with honey. Tsk.

12:51 am

but, but

12:52 am

exactly, seain!

12:52 am

don't but me no buts, missy

12:52 am

seain, i just read that the vax is only given after you have caught the disease, not as a preventative. how strange!

12:53 am

is it called a vaccination then anyway? Or just a cure?

12:53 am

yes, i read about it at the CDC website. I thought strange also, but unless i’m travelling, i’m not eligible.

12:54 am

the vaccine is administered as a cure, so yes a cure, if with the vaccine.

12:54 am

the ts words brought to mind the dengue fever news.

12:55 am

funny. So they use the same stuff as a vax and a cure? Pretty good stuff.

12:55 am

AND it only last 2-4 months, then you are unprotected.

12:55 am

giggle, I thought that was the link indeed

12:55 am

and that from the woman who told me I am never unprotected!

12:55 am

oh, goodness. I guess that’s the why 9 to 16 year olds for the vaccine. maybe it’s different in that age window.

12:56 am

I am up to date on vaccines; recently got Hep A and B vaccines. The B injection was sore for days. Large dose that vaccine.

12:56 am

w..e..l....l

12:57 am

ooh, you all just reminded me i have to ring my gp re my covid vax. they had run out a few weeks ago when i was in.

12:57 am

at age 23 i had to get a new MMR vaccine, as i was originally vaccinated with a faulty vaccine

12:57 am

fireflies. Easypeasy today.

12:57 am

congrats, sprite

12:57 am

st6 = weather lately

8:23 am

st6 does not spell miserable. 😊

8:26 am

i heard a news piece that hot weather makes you stupider, i feel that

just back from a walk. 76F with 77% humidity. most was in the shade but winston & I are still dying.

but how not stupid is this - first col gray! 🤣

8:54 am

hi hokie :)

mael!

8:55 am

just dropped the kids off for the first day of summer camp, yay

8:56 am

I was supposed to have my dl renewed this morning. Closed for mantenance.

8:56 am

Summer camp is good times.

that's annoying, bea

8:57 am

I wish I could go to summer camp

yay, mael

8:57 am

Shirl, I always feel like I'm moving in slow motion when it's this hot

8:57 am

Most certainly! And you can't make another appointment.

why would they make appts and then close?

and why can't you make another? too far out?

8:58 am

Yes, they are booked 90 days out.

I've probably said it here before but SC DMV is way superior to NC DMV

8:59 am

REAL driver's licenses are ridiculous.

just found the st6 shirl was talking about

do you have one already or renewing and doing that at the same time?

9:00 am

that's a low bar for comparison DMVs

9:00 am

sorry bea, that's such a hassle

9:00 am

20 left, quick so far!

9:00 am

in zootopia, there's a scene where the DMV person was a sloth and it was so funny

9:00 am

I need to renew.

9:01 am

it was the truest scene in that movie

9:01 am

Last time I did it on line. But you can only do that once.

9:01 am

so ... very ... true ...

when we moved here we were in and out of the DMV in one hour with new REAL ID's (actual permanent card, not a paper temp one) and new license plates and registrations (also permanent and not temporary)

that scene with the sloth in zootopia had me LOLing so hard and my kids were like, what is wrong with you

9:02 am

we found an RMV a few towns over that works great here in MA, which is a treat

this was before they had stepped into a DMV

9:02 am

I'm going to have to go soon to switch car ownership with my husband and that's gonna be fun

actually it was 2016, so the oldest had been in a DMV

9:07 am

why is that mael.. don't you both own the car?

9:10 am

he owned one car and I owned the other, but we traded mine in for a car he wanted to buy so he got that title

9:10 am

so my car, the one I drive, is technically in his name only

9:10 am

so I currently have zero cars

9:10 am

which is fine, I guess, but it's always a pain when we need to do anything

9:13 am

E5 is my last word, from the middle E. Hmmm
