nbt, nbs, fr 8
which is such a dumb word...
yes. yes it is
fr 7...
fr 7 x 2...
no, i take that back...it's the fr 8 already called, i think...
The Y was easy.
morning babblers
hi sprite, dc....getting late for me....goodnight all...
hiya pen, sleep well
hello, sprite and hi/bye, pen
hi there, seain!
Tomorrow, er later today, I plan to go back to optometrist office to repair old glasses, address issues with new glasses, and get the oil in my car changed.
sounds like a plan. What is wrong with the new glasses?
the temples are too short, and they don't stay on my face after the recently needed adjustments.
ah, that is not good. But easily fixable, I think
the new lenses rock, but I need longer temples to have them adjusted correctly and stay on my face.
yes, should be easily fixable. And prescription hasn't changed, but a sense fell out when I knocked them off my face today while moving too quickly.
ouch, lol.
a lense fell out. oopsie spelling.
yeah I gathered as much, grin
you lost some sense?
tw6 is one of those words I learned from babble. Can still remember my surprise the first time I came across it. Fun word.
hiya ru
seain has taken temporily leave of one of his senses
tw6 is a total tablet.
I did correct sense to sense in a comment
back in the days, before clues, I was left with a few words I just couldn't find on my own. This was one of them. Never forgot!
*giggles* autocorrect, such a blessing! (NOT)
I will help. Sense = lense. Tablet = babblet.
oh, dear. Maybe it's time to sleep. My spelling goes offline when I'm tired.
I know the feeling. For me, it is with speaking. I have very slight aphasia, mostly not much noticeable, but when I am tired, I say the weirdest words in stead of the right ones. My kids used to laugh themselves silly.
g'night/day and happy babbling, yall!
night night, seain, sleep well and dream even better
oh, the joys of aging.
*grins* True. But it still beats the alternative.
cooee and g'day from me. * hugs * sprite
hello darling *hugs*
both of us feeling ever so much better. Don's cough continues though. he says it's just the asthma. he doesn't have a fever, nor does his face feel hot. you can lead a horse to water but.....
good to hear. Still might be the after effects of covid and he might benefit from specialised pt.
if he's still coughing the other side of the weekend i might have more of a chance getting him to the doctor. we went to the warm water pool today. i did only half the number of reps of each exercise. taking it slowly.
nice
how are you doing? still fluish?
I am sorry to tell you that the cream and spray do not make a difference in Rob's pain levels, no matter how much he slathers on. And the spray almost killed us, lol. That smell! Caya came in and said: Why does it smell like you mopped the floor with mouth wash?
yeah, still flu-ish, but a little better than yesterday.
* giggle * about caya. poor Rob. it was worth a try though.
very much so, I was hoping it would give some relief at least.
ugh.... hope you continue to improve.
no doubt. It is just a little virus, nothing like covid.
he is taking regular pain relief, isn't he? not waiting for the pain to start, but preempting it.
btw, the cream and spray don't go " off ". keep them for later on. when you may need them.
yes he is, and he also started on daily anti gout meds, in stead of the meds for when an attack occurs. Once we are in our new home, I will push him to get knee replacements. But not now, I think. Knees take some time to become functional again.
thanks, was just about to ask you. I will. The cream does help me when my muscles cramp up!
true that. took me six months to be able to walk pain-fr4. another six months to get full range of movement back.
yeah, that was what I thought. And he will need both knees, so that is double the time. Much better to do that after the whole moving adventure.
please do not allow him to have both done at the same time. i have nursed patients who did, and they regretted it most miserably.
both hips at once, yes. but knees, no!
I think that is not even an option here. I believe the doctors here will not even offer to do both knees at once.
hips, yes. Most people who have their hips done tell me they were up and about in no time. Hips are such stable joints. But knees... not so much!
with knees you have two bones "damaged" in the process. it's like walking on two broken bones as the ends of the bones are raw.
with hips there is only one bone worked on. pain levels are much lower.
yes and no stability from the surroundings, as with hips. Still, worth doing, I think, if it enables him to enjoy the years to come with less (or no?) pain
absolutely.
and from experience of friend who has both knees done, the best thing to do is full-physio
btw, they are driving up and down our street with rubble from houses they are demolishing nearby... We are hoping we can stay the winter here, but I get a bit of nerves when I see them starting on tearing stuff down so close. Still, they have to give a 3 months' notice, so we are okay through january at least.
...phsio before and after
oh, good advice, lyn, thanks!
yes lynx. hydro therapy was amazing for me. and getting up and walking asap. when i came home i set myself the goal of walking the full length of our house at least 10 times per day.
hm, maybe I will send my former physiotherapist an email then. She is amazing, she may have some great advice as well. Wish Rob could go to her, but that is too far away.
sprite, any exercises which build the muscles are good. not needing to be weight-bearing.
I hate to be Debbie Downer, but Michael said he regretted getting his knee replaced. A horse kicked him years ago and he had finally had enough pain. The replacement did not go well, and had to be redone in a week. The poor man was so flippin' miserable. We had PT come to the house every day for several weeks. He finally got back on his feet, but was never happy with the new knee. I had to have my big toe joints replaced, and don't regret that. One is still fine, the other joint replacement had to be removed and the joint fused after I broke my ankle and tore tendons. The surgeries were damned painful!
hydro therapy will probably be part of the aftercare, anyway. But indeed, daily walks. I have no doubt he will be okay, he has plenty of willpower.
No Manx Cats?
I hope Rob has a much better surgeon!
mure
sorry, Kam! Yeah, it may turn out badly. But for most, it is a relief. And it cannot get much worse for Rob atm, he is in so much pain every day and his mobility is lousy.
poor Michael. such an awful experience to have to go through.
I hear ya, lyn! Tried Manx too. Looks like a total waste of a perfectly good X there.
Part of the problem could have been the Parkinson's.
a surgeon with parkinson shouldn't operate ;)
Michael had PD. The surgeon was an a$$. Bad combo.
yeah, one word you don't want to hear in the operating theatre...OOPS!
true, dat!
kam, the PD shouldn't have effected Michael's recovery.
OMG Kam you have both been through the mill
No, it shouldn't have, but his hesitancy to move could have. Plus, the surgeon didn't put in a drain, so the whole thing had to be redone. I think it was just bad luck. The surgeon who did my toes recommended the knee surgeon, and I'm still happy with my toes after 16+ years.
there is no cure for bad luck
True dat.
drains are not usually put into knee replacements, Kam. sometimes into hips, but i have never seen a knee joint with a drain.
TZo makene
Tp
Hmm, Rose. Everyone else we knew at the time had a drain with knee replacement. That was years ago. He did have a drain after the second surgery. Whatever, it's ancient history now.
yes lynx.
*giggles* I'll have a glass of what lyn is having

the long term covid effects are so very nasty. From lack of breath to brain fog to vertigo... one of the reasons I kept telling you to take better care, Rose. And to start treating after effects right away.
how frustrating that must be, lyn. So very sorry.
Today found out my 'guts' are all infected....on top of Multiple Myeloma and rampant Lung Cencer. Feel terrific. NOT

Agreed
I'm struggling, but I thought it was because I don't feel well today
I knew this grid would be trouble when I hit the Y with no vowels around it.
