Can't believe I'd overlooked that! Thank you Wooly Chris
It's easy to miss. Very twisty.
On a side note: Just listened to a song by The Teskey Brothers called "Rain." It is wonderful, bluesy, and reminds me heavily of Otis Redding and his song "These Arms of Mine." Never heard of The Teskey Brothers before, but I may have to dive down the rabbit hole and give them a serious listen.
Thanks, crosshair! Will give it a listen.
was the music coice from the radio or a suggestion from someone ... otis redding was a huge draw when i was coming up in the '60s ... i am glad i lived through that period and came out unscathed

my neighbors moved out. two housed down. NEVER took out the garbage (1 year about), just shoved it in a shed. the house was horrid (had 4 kids there), and gross. the owner, who I have never met, had the property cleaned off. 2 large dumpsters later, and the property is clean. The temps have been close to freezing of the last week or so.
Guess where the rats and other living mammals are going.
These rats are HEALTHY. my dogs, two chihuahuas, are on call and happy to help. Yuck.
Im thinking, and options are welcome, I''m going to put motion lights under the trailer we are remodeling. I think it will be a "humane and safe" deterrent. The peppermint isn't working :(
Ty for li7, Dan. :)

Hello Babblers! Going to be in and out as a pick away at the grid. It is the calm before the storm here, expecting lots of snow over night. I hope so, we have had not much winter here yet.

seems I counted wrong too
It was clued about 30 mins ago aloy...
ty Champ.. will scroll back
whew.. finally! Happy Babbling .. poof
why cheddar but not edam?
Proper noun
it's a cheese
Yes, from the Dutch town of Edam.
same with Cheddar = Cheddar in Somerset, South West England
Same for Brie, Muenster, Gouda, Gruyere and a couple other cheeses. Enable just indiscriminately picks what it will allow and what it won't. It's a crappy word list.
Fun fact of the day: those are toponyms, names that are derived from places.
Gouda is actually pronounced How-da in Holland.
i pronounce it yummy -- tho my doc said I have to watch my cholesterol so dairy is off the list. Growing old SUCKS
All in moderation.
I can't eat dairy, high fiber, spicy stuff, and on and on...And I'm a vegetarian. I wonder what I will eat in Cuba.
tots
sorry. but you had that word already.
I'm sure
Getting some obvious 4 letter fish here.
Namaste
Kaplan your book arrived today! I have started to read it but got distracted. I’ll get back to it this evening when I am in my wind down to sleep time.
What book????
Kaplan wrote a book about growing up in Flushing in the 1950s. I was curious to read it and compare it with my own childhood during the same time. So far, our childhoods are as different as chalk and cheese.
There. We are done. There is lots of edibles and booze in the blender. Now we are ready for the big storm rolling through tonight. Calm and clear now, but the windchill is already at a refreshing minus 17.
We are getting a snowfall as well, it has actually started. A nice slow steady fall without much wind.
Here we are supposed to get 20-30 cm, 60 to 79Kph winds and it will be the lake effect that does us in because our town is snuggled up right against Georgian Bay.
79*
Water is still mostly open, so it will be a big snow machine.
Good time to stay home and play strip poker.
Whooo sounds like you are right. I don’t expect our storm will amount to much, certainly not a nor’easter
I see you hang your hat in NS. :)
Yes
I have to get out there soon. Have a friend who moved there. He rents cottages.
Where?
One sec...
In New Harbour.
Says close to Bay of Fundy if I am not mistaken
On Trinity Bay
Ah, New Harbour is not far from me. I am in Port Hawkesbury, just across the causeway from the mainland on Cape Breton Island
No, not close to bay of Fundy
Ah, so I checked their site Trinity Bay so n New Harbour it is.
Never been there, but it is a great excuse to explore NS for the first time
There is another New Harbour in the district of Chester but that is not near the Bay of Fundy either. Wouldn’t be surprised if there were more New Harbours, we do have a lot of harbours
You definitely should come. Good food, great beaches and the people are friendly lol
Trinity bay should narrow it down some. I still have to contact him for detailed directions, but it wont be until summer now.
Trinity Bay is in Newfoundland
Trying to post the link, but it is Woodhaven Cottages.
My mistake they are in Newfoundland.
Ah. Too bad
They are a great couple. Their places have always been oet friendly as well.
But you will definitely love Newfoundland!
Never been, but going out east has always been something the Mrs. And I have wanted to do.
Well, must push off. Darkness is falling so I’d better start thinking about an evening meal. Tata
Tc. Have a good night.
hello everyone -- busy morning, so late arriving

Very nice. :)
Sprite clued ma 6/39 very early on in the chat log

Back tomorrow - goodnight all!

leaves me wondering how an arabic word for a mosque makes it into an English word game
Enable is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
Windchill is minus 19 and falling...brrr!
done - not quite as easy as it looked at first!
thanks for the help. Don't see any Americans here today -- wonder if Trump banned Babble along wtih everyithing else...
So windy the pups had to try three times to pee without getting splashed with it. Wind is just grabbing it and launching it.
