1:39 am

We have not been up to much, same old, same old sort of thing. My beloved recently had to get some dental surgery, but she is recovering nicely.

1:39 am

(((Sprite)))

1:39 am

and that she blows !!

1:40 am

*hugs crossy and rose*

1:40 am

* hugs * my dear friend

1:42 am

Sadly we are up to our necks handling the current us sdministration at the moment. Not much room to think of anything else at the moment. It is odd walking into our liquor stores and seeing all the Shelves empty of U.S boize.

1:43 am

Darn typos. Please just translate. :)

1:43 am

bad stuff for sure

1:44 am

i am in tears for USA. but it appears Canada has things in hand. hope you ride out the storm, mate.

1:46 am

tight little grid, this

1:47 am

it is. but at least no k words.

1:48 am

all grids without K are good grids

1:49 am

to those in Australias

1:50 am

oops sorry

1:50 am

six days to go sprite.

1:50 am

but who's counting *hug*

1:51 am

I generally do not do well with K words. I immediately go babble blind with them. :)

1:51 am

to those in Queensland and northern NSW Australia, stay safe

1:51 am

I so want that T in the corner to be a D. I mean... dominion. Right? But no.

1:52 am

What going on?

1:52 am

crossy, you and me both :) Even after all these years, I am still babble K blind.

1:52 am

cyclone coming in

1:52 am

i think i'll make it but not sure about my sanity. despite panadol osteo two of, tapentadil, and endone, shoulders and upper back still 9/10. thank goodness for painaway.

1:53 am

our vicar arrived home last night from surfer's diz, much to our relief.

1:53 am

1:53 am

Cyclone?!!! You guys stay safe. We love our aussies!

1:54 am

this time out of my control. doc was away at the time i was supposed to go in.

1:54 am

cyclone? Not good. Anywhere near you, rose?

1:55 am

I am sorry you sre in pain, granny. :(

1:55 am

Doc has no business being away when you need your infusion. Next time, you go in before he goes away. Better too soon than too late, like now. You tell him from me. Tsk. Slacker.

1:55 am

supposehit landfall sometime tomorrow

1:55 am

1:55 am

don't worry. he's gonna get both barrels.

1:56 am

1:56 am

thanks crossy.

1:57 am

I best hurry here as I know Sprite generally whips off these grids in twenty minutes or so. :)

1:58 am

1:58 am

1:58 am

:)

1:59 am

1:59 am

*whips off Oodie... nooooo too cold! whips it right back on*

2:01 am

ooohhhh too late. i saw your titties, i saw your titties... hides under table. explosive giggles.

2:01 am

Sprite, did you know that as a writer, if I submit anything to a U.S publishing firm, I usually have to "americanize" the spelling before it is even considered?

2:01 am

well you were talking about giving both barrels, so there

2:01 am

omg crossy, that is so ugly! TOtally inversion of values!

2:02 am

O.K, why is everyone whipping out titties??? You guys are wild in here at night!

2:02 am

2:06 am

You guys are naughty. Now I know where all the fun happens.

2:06 am

ohhhh that momentum!

2:06 am

can hardly type.... everything is shaking...

2:07 am

can you imagine, crossy, how bad we were when we were meeting up live? We made the netherlands, france and belgium totally unsafe for weeks.

2:07 am

do you hear what i hear? crossy's chesticles are ringing my song.

2:08 am

If I were down under we would have to go on a pub crawl about now.

2:08 am

I dont doubt it,sprite!

2:08 am

ohhhh yes. I would totally do a pub crawl with you and rose.

2:08 am

crawl being the operative word..

2:09 am

One gin and tonic at each pub until you can no longer say gin and tonic.

2:10 am

" snort " remember that poor waiter in Belgium, trying to explain why he couldn't make me a sangria, and me blithely saying, just top up the red wine with ice and lemon ade. the look of horror on his face.

2:10 am

gimmegimmanihicrightnow!

2:10 am

omg yes :D I laughed till I cried. Poor man.

2:11 am

HEY share the straw.

2:11 am

I see two strawshhhh

2:11 am

2:13 am

2:14 am

2:15 am

good idea sprite. i'll take three. one for each leg too.

2:15 am

we are such good girl scouts. Always prepared.

2:16 am

When I used to bartend the rules demanded a quarter ounce of each--not a full ounce.

2:17 am

tsk it is all a matter of proportion. Just use a bigger glass. There.

2:17 am

But it was weak and not fit to be served that way at home.

2:18 am

Use one of those "yard of beer" glaases. I believe they hold eight pints.

2:19 am

sorry. had to leave the room. there was this whiny voice on the TV. it's like finger nails on a black board to me.

2:19 am

see? There you go.

2:19 am

Trump speaking agan?

2:19 am

Again*

2:19 am

is that what you call it crossy?

2:20 am

2:21 am

trumplestiltskin

2:22 am

2:22 am

I am afraid I am not even trying anymore. Bad excuse for a human being. No need to be alive. Just sayin'.

2:23 am

He whine abou fentynal, yet only 0.003% actually crosses our border southwards.

2:24 am

0.03%*

2:24 am

what really frightens me is how he is snuggling up to china and russia.

2:24 am

Imagine how most of us here feel. Less than 50% voted for him and now all the farmers are angry. He's insane, IMO. He whines about everything.

2:24 am

Yes. That is very disturbing.

2:24 am

amen, Kam. And hugs.

2:25 am

Wait till Ford cuts off the flow of potash!)

2:25 am

Hi! I'm so sick of the news. Every day something else hits the fan.

2:25 am

It does drain you, Kam.

2:26 am

I really really really do not get anyone cruising for war. War is the worst. Even if you only have one functional braincell in your head, you steer away from war.

2:26 am

Every day another disaster.

2:26 am

Every day another disaster.

2:26 am

Sorry hiccuped.

2:26 am

a very apt one

2:27 am

Today's news said our social security may be cut off next month. He "promised" not to do that.

2:27 am

2:27 am

I will be in deep doo if my income goes away.

2:27 am

hey Kam. * hugs * dear one. i'm hoping and praying you all survive the 4 years.

2:28 am

scary af

2:28 am

Gads, I hope he is kicked out in some way or another before the 4 years is over. The US won't ever be the same. The courts are trying to stop him and he is ignoring court orders.

2:32 am

Back in a bit, I need some nocturnal snackies,

2:33 am

what are we having crossy?

2:34 am

from your mouth to God's ear, Kam

2:34 am

Ritz crackers topped with kelbasa and five year old cheddar.

2:35 am

what ?? no bacon ??

2:36 am

I hope so, Sprite. I'm just burned out listening to what little news I do listen to, lol! I couldn't bear to hear his speech tonight. I guess I'll read about the aftermath tomorrow.

2:36 am

Lol, no, if I try to make bacon at three-thirty in the morning I would probably burn the house diwn.

2:37 am

am not following the news. I find it does not help at all to know all the details. Better use my time and energy to pray that he will be stopped

2:39 am

...though I do have a few rasher set to go for second breakfast. :)

2:40 am

:D

2:40 am

sprite. with your ptsd i wouldn't. it's enough to make me ill.

2:40 am

yes, I just can't. And shouldn't. But I can pray. And I do.

2:41 am

Some say he is showing early indications of an oncoming strole--we can only hope. J.D can spoon feed him his maccas and diet coke.

2:41 am

fireflies. That means I have to go walk the dogs. *hugs* my dear friends, thanks for the company. You guys rock.

2:50 am

dinner time here. Crossy, don't be a stranger, you hear?

6:53 am

We call him the Orange Whankmaggot

7:02 am

downright hateful chatter this morning. pitiful

7:10 am

If you are going to read chat here, you should get used to the fact that the majority of people here are Trump haters. And they will jump all over anyone who is not. I'm not saying that is right, just that it's the way it is.

7:12 am

nobody should have to "get used" to this type of vitriol.

i concur.

i don't typically follow the chat very much but i was intrigued to see it today.

7:14 am

I agree. I would prefer a respectful back and forth of differing opinions. But it has always been majority rules here.

While I didn't vote for him, I am not surprised that he won. I do not agree with everything his administration is doing, but our government is long overdue for an overhaul, and that's what they're doing.

Every time I start to become upset about their methods I have to remind myself that I have never run a corporation nor tried to balance a multi-billion dollar budget. Heck, I can't even balance our multi-thousand dollar budget...

7:23 am

I can see people not liking Trump or his politics, but wishing someone dead is harsh.

I totally agree.

7:45 am

I do run a corporation and will tell you that any CEO that did what they're doing would be fired

7:46 am

and might I remind you that the man filed for bankruptcy 6 times

7:50 am

The axe/machete approach has been terrible to witness.

7:54 am

there's no way to improve anything if you don't understand what you're cutting

7:55 am

Yes.

7:55 am

Good point mael.

8:04 am

stats for the fourth column O pls

ugh, the vowels

wow, my chatterbox was stuck on 2:50, and I wondered where everyone was, so when my post didn't show up I refreshed and there are people here. howdy, folks.

this tiny area is very warm, can even grow olives, kiwis etc

we went to a thing last night with a bunch of neighbors and didn't even need a coat walking back to the car. it wasn't super warm yesterday but it didn't get cold cold when it got dark. so springy feeling.

8:28 am

We get daffodils this time of year too.

8:32 am

my neighbor grows nasturtiums they smell great

8:33 am

her husband grows pot .. and that's the summer smell

8:35 am

spring is fragrant and summer smells like a pack of skunks mating and scenting

not sure that's the growing of the pot as much as the smoking of the pot

8:36 am

that's the growing.. it's really smelly

8:36 am

when they smoke it it's smelly too but in a different way

8:38 am

No contact highs for Ru

8:39 am

other than that they're good neighbors mostly.. they do have backyard pot parties with a lot of coughing and cackling

8:45 am

Cheetos for everyone!!

8:49 am

my other neighbor teaches bible study for little kids in her front yard.. so I get jesus from both directions

is this grid easy ruru? I still have 35 left.

8:51 am

so far.. I just started I have 29 left right now

8:51 am

all grids are easy for ru well, almost all grids. Once in a blue moon he finds one hard

8:52 am

8:54 am

greek yogurt, my homemade granola, blueberries and bananas. And a latte

8:55 am

oh like scotland

8:55 am

thanks Carla and ru. If it hasn't grown I'll be happy. Since it shrunk by 70% I can't imagine any more shrinking. But we'll see

8:55 am

oh it could shrink more.. here's hoping..

8:56 am

Perfect time to pop back in...hoping for shrinkage Doren!

8:56 am

8:57 am

so yesterday was fat tues?

9:07 am

Yep!

9:08 am

what does fat Tuesday mean?

9:08 am

Today we remember that we are dust and to dust we will return

that's when you eat everything you're giving up for lent

9:08 am

does my ash look big in this urn?

9:09 am

The question is, what does Mardi Gras mean? Answer, Fat Tuesday.

9:09 am

"repent and believe in the gospel" is what I usually say when giving them out. And yes ru...big...HUGE ash

9:10 am

it's a little late for me to repent

I grew up methodist and don't ever rem. my church having ash wed service. But they have in recent years. And when I was in college I was lie, why all these people walking around with dirt on their heads?

9:11 am

Little kid in the grocery store..."Mommy why do people have big black x's on their foreheads?"

*like

9:11 am

A friend of mine is a Lutheran minister, and he's done the drive thru ashes before.

9:19 am

can I ask you one texas question Champ without getting into a political dialogue?

9:22 am

well the last 8 is a t or a s

9:23 am

Sorry...I was off on another tab. Sure...what's up?

9:24 am

how did you feel when you were all out of power in that one winter and Ted Cruz instead of staying to help, went on vacation in Cozumel and got Dolphin tattoos?

9:25 am

I figured he had it planned ahead of time, and just went ahead and went. Also assumed he was working from there, as I often get stuck doing.

9:26 am

oh.. but that's not what really happened. he hadn't planned to go but did and then said it was about his daughters

9:26 am

thanks I was just curious what a texan would think about that

9:28 am

I don't know...it wasn't top of mind for me at the time. Too busy freezing my ass off, till we gave up and went to my mom's. She has a huge generator, so we were good till the electricity came back.

9:29 am

We lasted about 36 hours. When I could see my own breath in the middle of the day in my house, made the call to abandon ship.

9:32 am

yeah.. that was a bad time for Texas...

9:32 am

That and Jerry Jones still not finding a proper GM

9:32 am

Did you find your last 8?

9:33 am

11:38 am

and hello all....

11:38 am

Hey, pen.

11:38 am

hi Bea...

11:38 am

Do you have a clue for the tri8

11:39 am

starts with the prefiix for 3....last two letters are most of frozen water...

11:39 am

its a birth defect

11:40 am

an extra chromosome...

11:40 am

Thx. I’ll start looking.

11:40 am

Are you getting weather, pen?

11:41 am

11:41 am

Got it. Thx!

Heavy rain and wind here.

11:42 am

hiya folks

11:42 am

hi hursh...

11:42 am

11:42 am

we are expecting more winds tomorrow....

11:42 am

Ty for tr8, Pen. :)

11:42 am

yw...

11:48 am

11:50 am

11:50 am

11:52 am

IBut it doesnt affect the person?

11:52 am

11:53 am

Any help with the R word for 4th column R welcome.

11:54 am

Ty

11:54 am

oh duh...ty, Bea...

11:54 am

Got it of course.

11:55 am

One last missing tile is fourth column o word. Help welcome

11:55 am

it affects the person, similar to Down syndrome, however, what granadan is saying is that it isn't a DEFECT, just a difference, and thus she sees her daughter as perfect just as she is. given the horrible people in the federal gov't right now, it behooves the rest of us to be even more considerate in the way we talk about such things and stand up against any attitudes that subtly suggest some people are inferior to others.

11:56 am

it's or 5...a babblet....ends with a plural letter....

11:56 am

Ty got it pen.

11:57 am

Interestging hurshy. Ty. My husband is a fed govt employee and he is wonderful so be careful of terminology. The employees are fine. It is the elected ones you are critical of i assume.

11:57 am

yes i just mean the people currently running things at the top

11:59 am

pres & cabinet, musk

11:59 am

that fourth col single R is rh4

12:04 pm

1:12 pm

1:13 pm

same here

1:14 pm

bbl

1:14 pm

is that what you say about Ash Wed? Happy Wednesday everyone. if so, happy Wednesday.

1:14 pm

I realized yesterday (as I was researching other countries to move to) that my reactions have been classic trauma responses: freeze, fight, fawn, and flight. I've hit ever one since January. Today the news is turned off here too. :)

1:15 pm

I just say happy [insert day of week]

1:15 pm

Good luck finding another country to move to that can offer as much as this one does.

1:15 pm

nice moon. I was just wondering.

1:16 pm

you right Molly.

1:17 pm

I keep trying to move the h over to the c. my monkeys are not listening to me.

1:18 pm

Still missing an I...

1:18 pm

sorry, I just started

1:20 pm

the only one i am upset with musk. What he has done with fireings is dangerous for our nation. Really dangerous. A friend works at the nuclear reg. Commission. They fired all the AI people who were new hires in the last two years. She said there is real danger now that cant be dealt with. I am sure that every regulatory branch is in same bad shape.

1:32 pm

mkg, I understand. Many of us are reacting from a primal place of survival: fawn, fight, freeze, flight. I've experienced all of them, and am trying to regain my emotional and mental footing so that I'm not driven by fear. It's not easy. I wish us all light and strength for the journey ahead.

1:34 pm

Pesky I left. Guess I need the list...

1:35 pm

Nope. I found it.

1:35 pm

Namaste

2:03 pm

Back for a few more words. :)

2:04 pm

Ty for the om greek letter, Bzznbea. :)

2:17 pm

yeah, still 22 left here

I agree with you, ch1212. I'm afraid I don't see this ending very well for US or the world.

ionic

oops

3:02 pm

I like to think that the US is very resilient and that we have lived through bad Presidents before and survived. The doom and gloom stuff is getting old.

The key phrase being "I'd like to think." This is not just a bad president. Shall we all be sanguine, and assume he doesn't mean what he says?

3:41 pm

Pardon me. I DO think the US is very resilient. We have made it through bad times before and will again. I believe in the good people of this country and their desire to do the right thing.

3:50 pm

yeah but when you throw in this whole bizarre AI stuff... it's pretty scary

3:55 pm

if i were in an economically sustainable job right now, and if it didn't happen to be making me as miserable as jobs i've had in the past, and if i didn't think i were in danger of losing that job, i could probably carry on day to day alright. but when you have to make decisions about changing your situation, i think that's harder. what kind of a job should i look for? will the field i've been working on getting a degree in be viable, or not, given the economic picture as a whole? should i give up on that? will i even be able to get any decent job? should i be focusing on learning how to grow my own food instead, even though i'm not really the sort of person who finds that appealing unless maybe i had a community to do that WITH, which i don't...

3:57 pm

i don't feel that i have enough energy for that. carrying on with known duties is easier than deciding what to do or what not to do next.

MollyL, I hear you, but I don't think we've ever lived through somebody like this. He's on a whole other level of bad.

3:59 pm

telling the russian cybersecurity people to all stand down and just let them do what they want is... really scary as hell, yeah. because it's not like cyber crime is a really obvious smoking gun or mushroom cloud. like, we KNOW what they've done, IF you read articles from people who actually investigated this stuff - but of course most people do NOT read in-depth reporting articles like that - and so they just don't even know, and since they don't know, they don't care

4:01 pm

nobody in MAGA realizes how much of what they already believe has been created in their minds by russian propaganda and bots. they think all the fb accounts they've interacted with are genuine ordinary american people who actually exist.

4:04 pm

so the guy up for deputy FBI director believes in demons? like actual demons from hell exists?

4:05 pm

most evangelical christians do believe that

4:05 pm

it's not unusual

4:05 pm

probably lots from mainline denominations too

4:06 pm

there are probably surveys of americans that you could look up to see percentages

4:06 pm

so yes to demons and no to the covid virus? i'm living in the wrong world

4:09 pm

i haven't heard of people not believing in the COVID virus, it's more they don't believe it's worth getting a vaccine for it, that harms of vaccines might outweigh harms of COVID itself, stuff like that. i disagree, but, afaik they do not disbelieve in the existence of viruses.

Given the conditions, ANYTHIING can happen here. "Civilized "societies have crumbled before.

4:10 pm

yes

4:12 pm

one must recognize that there are degrees of optimism/pessimism/faith/hope, too. it's not one or the other

4:14 pm

you could say that you believe america CAN get through this as a matter of "it looks bad, and collapse is a possibility, but don't give up, take action!" or you could say it while your unconscious belief is that it is GUARANTEED that the US will get through this.

4:14 pm

thinking the outcome is guaranteed either to be negative OR to be positive... i think either one of those is a dangerous thing to think.

4:15 pm

recognizing that, as doc brown said, the future hasn't been written yet, and it COULD go any number of ways, is more realistic

4:20 pm

Well, there are people who seem to always take the worried, pessimistic viewpoint. Kind of a sad way to live.

4:22 pm

but i don't think we have that much control over we have an optimistic or a pessimistic general "bent"

4:23 pm

*over WHETHER

4:23 pm

stats for the lone O in the 4th column?

4:24 pm

you can choose to have hope, even if you're a pessimist, but i think it's really hard to change your deep down gut feeling that either "things will be ok" or "things might be really bad"

4:24 pm

that's an or5/10, shirl

4:26 pm

thx hurshy

4:29 pm

Oh I agree. In my lived experience, there are always the negative, doom and gloom minded people. They will never change.

4:38 pm

Went to the L.C.B.O today for some whiskey. We have a Segrams distillery right here in town, so I picked up some "Collingwood" whiskey. It is very, very good.

4:38 pm

Nice to enjoy a very local tipple. :)
