hi im new 2 this does it tell you how many words there r 2 find
does it show anywhere how many words to look for first attempt yesterday thank you
whoops someone has already asked this......fool that I am
There's no list: otherwise, it'd be too easy. So start using that brain and those eyes of yours again. Most of all, enjoy.
actually, someone usually posts the stats including the number of words per letter
Ive got 35 words so far, made a few up also which is fun knowing some wierd words are in there
I know what you mean CJ25, I'm struggling on 69 and from the posts I see there are more than 100 words to find so I better knuckle down if I am to find anymore haha
if you have to log off will your words still be there?
Is there a timer that can be added to put some stress factor into this gane???
17 more hours to go, thats stressful hehe. Will there be enough time? I think if you log off it will be fine.
you won't lose anything by logging off

thank you Anj!
It's the t7/36 that's eluding me now...

Time for some fresh air! Back later...
trumpton, fyi the idea is to give clues, not actual words . . .
denny any clues 4 the 8's this is my first time please
i have b8/70 and i8/55
Cheers Trumpton. I'm up to 30 Ts just now although that t7/36 is STILL bugging me. Time for a break.
clues gibven previously are good but i will repeat. b8 think captian of fishfingers or to look down on something gives you a ...view of things. i8 is what the meek shall do, or what you do if your wealthy aunt passes away and leaves you stuff!!
Please don't post the actual words, folks! It takes the fun out of it for everyone else...
denny not sure wot that means at all as have only started playing 2day and dont know wot those abbreviations mean sorry
anj t7/36 - if you put a word for 3 with a word for a religious group, that will give you it.
Darn. Won't take birdee or birdy. Enable writers must not have kids. ;-)
thanks denny understand ur last clues
supermac - b8 means the word starts with b and has 8 letters. the bigger numbers give the points. if you look at the babble rules it tells you how the points system work. i8 means starts with letter i and has 8 letters - good luck
111 words worth 1724. How are we doing? Beat That mum hehe
ok - i've been away fro couple of hours and just cannot get any more! any ideas folks - i'm only on 73 :-(
don't post the words, other people want to actually play this game, not take dictation.
thats 11 more than me denny dont know where these people find so many
Well done stuNkez I've got 103/1387 so slowly catching up tee hee
I'm at the stage where I am making up words and then am surprised when they are being accepted
I'm at the stage where I am making up words and then am surprised when they are being accepted
how many words in this
more than 111 :o)
Moozey that is so true
feeling very inadequate here well done every1 perhaps i will improve
Oh you will supermac believe me I have been coming back to this game on and off all day
i quite liked having the stats yesterday cos at least then you had an idea what to look for...

you're doing very well. have you got the other c7/56?
yes denny i have 2 c7/56 thanks
now have 86 words total1253 think i might take a breather and try again later
Denny After a few ruinous days playing this I've resolved to play for exactly half an hour a day then cheat to find out what I missed. So, some ABSOLUTELY UNOFFICIAL don't-blame-me-if-they're-wrong-they-were-off-by-one-yesterday stats: b(9) c(15) d(21) e(10) h(5) i(9) m(22) n(1) r(24) s(26) t(34) 4(75) 5(62) 6(30) 7(7) 8(2) (Posted in a different format from the official stats so that hopefully people scrolling down don't confuse the two)
good morning everyone!
c5/22
ericpode thanks for those - they are todays stats are they?
ericpode sorry ignore me, i can see now they are todays!!
24 r's!!!! I only have 3!!!
ok, we're first timers - hows 130 / 1947 so far?

show off!!! - what's your secret!
denny, just shut your eyes and hit the keys as fast as you can, occasionally hitting enter!!!! lol
Sure wish the dictionary was working for me 'cause I really want to know what some of these screwy words mean!! :) p.s. Morning everyone!
Thanks Baggo, upto 111 and that might steer me in the right direction
New here...how do you know how many possible words there are? Thanks!
there are sites where you can get the word list. my husband pulls the list and does it before he goes to work. there's not a way to do it where you don't run the risk of seeing the words...
Baggo has listed them below
Hey Care, hows it goin?
supermac help me i have only got 7
how is demist not a valid word it's in the dictionary
y is birdy not allowed ?
Babble only accepts words in the ENABLE dictionary--the frustration you're experiencing is shared by many!!
I thought demist should have been in as well. For those needing definitions you could try http://www.m-w.com/
ok, i need to be excused soon - my brain is full! lol
Help needed! Day 1 - 59 words worth 793. Not great........
thanks yoink I thought I was being thick
i have got 45
is anyone got any tips for me
this is my first go and i have 38 words with 383 points. is that good or bad?
thats good kurtmontgomery88
ok i give up 145 / 2122
I'd love to track down which version of ENABLE Babble is using. Closest I've found is a WORD.LST file from ENABLE2K (173528 words). 'demist' doesn't appear in that list, but does in the most recent ABLE supplement. Dr God tells me an update will be in the works soon.
That's totally ridiculous!
That's ridiculous...............66/872
this is my first go - do i have to wait for 3 days average before i get a score in?
maybe in the enable dictionary demist is hyphenated to de-mist
3 more! 69/908
Just back in - thanx for t7/36 Denny
I'm at 100 words for 1246 pts
just found this site, how's everybody doing? does anyone know how many words there are to find?
errr that's 1264 pts
176 apparently
thanks anj, that means i've only 100 to go!! any clues for 'b' words?
I think everyone should stop now and let me catch up
remit is another one like demist
'tweet tweet!' variations on that theme will net you a few...
i have 3 so far. how addictive is this game!
Very addictive. I've 5 Bs out of 9 but i'm currently flapping about my lack of Rs.
some of the B's i got by typing what i thought were made up words
82/946 I'm a loser baby...so why don't you kill me... : )
remit is accepted, try it again
Have to go now! Big Brother's Little Brothers time!!!!!!! 79/1003. First day. Still sunny in London.
anj what do you mean tweet tweet
i've managed to find 10 r's, nothing very original though - things that grow around water - any good?
joshua I believe it is a clue to some of the words
Joshua, it's a clue for some B words. Zoom, the ancient mariner is the Rs too
anj, that clue was a bit too subtle!
help me someone
zoom - if you search ancient mariner using google you'll get it

164/2450 so far.
i am stuck at 55
thanks steneph - must have hit the wrong keys!
Zoom - that was the first word association that sprang to mind. My brain is addled by all these weird words...
WOW Worldly Wise I had a little go yesterday but this is my first real go and I can't foresee me getting beyond my current 120
anj, got it in the end thanks to you, moozey and google! have to take a break to feed the kids!

c6/36 is plural of c5/22 which is a variant spelling of an olde english apple drink! ( ithink so anyway as I can't get the dictionary up like everyone else)
oh rite the stats that baggo gave are how many words there are for todays puzzle?
I'm looking for 1-e but a few c's
joshua - try a place where you would get your pills; another name for a vest (olde worlde!); I like hairy ones. I'm thinking about the others - will get back to you!
kurtmontgomery88 - if it feels good, type it. A good 50 of my words are new to me today. Also, check the words you already have to see of any can have an s or d added on the end.
or a "de" or "re" at the beginning
one of the c's is a colour
Thanks Moozey

Christ! Why won't it accept christ (or demist)?
SOOOO sorry...I just saw them, my computer hadn't refreshed since I stepped away. Thanks, Baggo.
joshua - c5/14 is shounds like having a cough that isn't tickly, but without the H and ends in something that sounds like a Y
hi everyone, i'm missing 2 H's... any clues? pleeeeease!!!
c4/6 is deep and meaningful but without the 'sin'. c5/14 is the same but plural!

I've never heard of the Enable dictionary. Is it in English? I can't believe the disallowed words. To be honest there are one or two that have been accepted that I expected to be refused. My first ever attempt - enjoying it.
which ones are you missing Just Jo
any clues for h
for h's, there's three h4/7s, one h4/9, and one h5/16 that looks like a plural of an h4/9, but isn't
h4/7x3, h4/9, h5/16

It is a ceremony performed on boys on the eighth day of life.
I've got the jewish one and I'm still missing a b - bi4x2, bi5x2, bi6, bi7, bi8, br4, what haven't I got?
Denny, are they both b4/6? if you have the Jewish one, the other is the surname of an Author (David B...) who wrote the Uplift sci-fi novels

think Anj was saying cheers as in thanks...not giving a word :)
Oh - I see that now. Sorry Anj - you were discussing C6s and then gave one...

my teas gone cold and im not watching eastenders whats going on? this is too addictive
eastenders is on right behind me, but im afraid im just gonna have to listen to it lol

Not even cooked my tea! but Keith is really annoying me - I wish he would just get a kick up the bum!
I have ce5x2, ch5x3 & cy5. Anyone want to clue me in on where I'm lacking? (missing one, dang it!)

amelu0218 - any advance on the c?! ;-)
hugabugs, I think you're missing an m6/24. An earlier post said there were 3. (12:54am)

karenh: I'm at work, no cupboards here
Sfneil: clue for your missing C7: A woman's loose, shirtlike undergarment. A loosely fitting dress that hangs straight; a shift.
boreetos - no! not when it usually comes up with a LOT of options
thanks Denny and anj, at least now I know what I can't find!!
are the 2 ch7s related?
can anyone help with the m's. I've got mex2, mix11, mux4
another clue for C7 is a pharmacy
sfneil - they look similar but have a different ending
got it!!!!!!!!! giving up now 75 words going to watch the house of obsessive compulsives... maybe we should be in there
Judi, thanks! got the ch7!
sfneil: No the 2 c7s are not related, however they are alike exept for the last letter.
whew! thanks everyone! the pesky c's are done!
Quitting time at work for me. I'll have to pick up where I left off. Maybe the break will help me out. Still this puzzle is the best I've done since I started playing last week. Thx for the hints all :D
wtf is with the codes, ive seen a bunch of new ppl ask, and no one will reply
oh wait, foot in mouth, nm
gives you clues on what to look for eg. c7/40 is a word beginning with c with 7 letters worth 40 points. de5x2 is 2 words beginning with de that are 5 letters long. hope that helps
Getting there, slowly but surely... :)
not strictly true masterpl, the last person to ask was minime at 2:33 and Denny responded three minutes later
Well done Swimmy, I'm up to 133 but think I might bow out now
guys i have the following 7's - b7/40, ch7/56 x2, in7/40 x2, t7/36. I'm missing one does anyone know what it is?
Denny you're missing 3 x me and 1 x mu that I know of. I'm missing 1 m but I don't know which. I've got 11 x mi too. I'm stuck at 167 words
Good luck all, I'm brain fried (still can't find that darned ce5/possibly greek belt word). I'm taking my toys and going home... ~:-D
Denny, you're missing an re7/36
Moozey, I am not anywhere near that, but it is my first time so i am trying to be easy on myself :)
Is the 2:43 list from Moozey the exhaustive list for today's game? If so, I'm confused by I9. What about I4 and I6? Thanks.
Can anyone tell me which T's I'm missing? I have T4x13, T5x21, T6x3 and T7x2.
any hints for ce5 and ce6. I always seem to miss the obvious. Just a minute ago I was searching Hi and low for a ch 5, I had the ch 6 that was the plural. duh! boy this can make you brain dead
judi, that is 39 t's, did I read the stats wrong? I thought there were only 34 ts?
jax - c6 is the plural of c5 which you do when you are very happy or when someone is doing something and you want to encourage them
Dislexic. I have T4x13, T5x12, T7x2 and T6x3. I am 4 short.
oops, ok, that was ch5 and ch6, not ce - ignore whati just said pleeease!
lolly, I have that one, the ch 5 and 6, but not the ce 5 and 6, is that the def for ce 5 and 6?
SEW is FAF
no sorry jax - my mistake!
judi, I have alot of t's yet to get, but I do have 1 more t 6 than you do, so there is one more. ;o)
thanks tho lolly
thats ok jax!
anyone got any clues for some nice big words...im a bit stuck!
I have only seen 6 7's listed. It is almost impossible to scroll through the chat. Can someone tell me the 7th 7 word? I have c56x2, b40, t36, i40x2. What don't I see?
there is an re 7/36 from an earlier post, but I don't have it yet!
can 22 M's possibly be right? I have over 130 words but only 15 Ms and have tried all combos my poor brain can think up
I have 5xm4, 7xm5 and 3xm6
is there one or two t7's?
there's i8/55, plural of i7/40 and t6/39. past tense of t5/22 and t6/39
go braves - I only have 130 words so I have alot to go. (and I have only 14 m's so far) but I do have 1 more m4 than you do
so there is at least 1 more of those to find!
thanks Jx, don't feel so bad. Found one more m5 btw, but I swear the others must be in some alien alphabet
I still can't get the last e and I'm about to go crazy. I've got: e4/6x2, e5/14x3, e4/8, e4/7x2, and e5/16. I have the princes, the give offs, the one meaning to build, and four having to do with ocular. PLEASE HELP ME - thanks!
i have 175 words, 1 to get, can anyone beat this?
Go Braves - saw an earlier post that said this (there is 1 missing, but this might help) mex5, mi x 11, mu x5
Cagey last one is most commonly combined with "while"
Cagey - there's an e4 that can be used as a prefix to "while"
Fit1, Jax - the re 7/36 can be found by tacking the re on to an e5/14 meaning 'to give out'
I'm at 101/1422, how do I know when I'm done??
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! It was staring me in the face, but it isn't really a word I would use. I can go walk on the treadmill now in peace!!
when you start drooling incoherently lexi
thanks anj I think I'm missing an e5 14, if there are 2, any hints. I have the 2 easier ones - princes, and gives out
jax see my post at 3:48
Really, this is my 6th day, how do I know, I've never gotten this far??
JAx think Viagra
Jax, you're missing the one that means to build/put up as in statue.
Oh good Lord! It was smacking me in the face! Thank you all
e5-14 -- to build
Lexi, earlier posts list how many words there are to find. I'm back to work. thanks all
the word i am looking for begins with S but i dont know how many letters it is
OK, i'm retiring puzzled at 167. Good luck everyone.
My daughter sent me to this site knowing I'd be immediately addicted. The teacher in my won't let me use a dictionary, word list, etc. Just seems like cheating! What's a high score without using these cheatsheets? I do think the hints are great!
You're a man after my own heart Munner - using dictionaries and other cribs is hardly cricket - a bit like athletes who use performance enhancing drugs.
too much babble on the babble site : (
I'm passing out at 144 - good luck all and good nite!
i hav 246
Is the Ce6 related to any of the other C's?
ok I'm not addicted LOL leelam you have 246? There is only 176 words in this puzzle
fnert - no it is a colour
thanks moozey!
Jax - Smacking you in the face? Impressive!
Please ignore my dumb question (as you already have). Thanks
Hi all. now have 90 words. Would like to thank you all for your clues couldn't have got this far without them! Will keep trying tho'

RubixDead , u r missing 2 bi's.
this is retarted!!!!! i dont understand this game at all!!!!!!!!!!HELP
Sorry Serena I had left for the evening but have seen your post. i had reposted someone elses stats, the i9 indicates how many 'i' words there are in this puzzle, nine, so yes there is an i4 and i6 but there are also 7 more words to find
beckless I am new to this too, only started yesterday but the best bet would be to read the rules at the top to show you how to play, but if you have played boggle you are half way there
80/1327....had enough...off to play backgammon....good luck to all you other newcomers...MoS has a lot to answer for...lol
147 words & 2077 points and my eyes have crossed! Bed time I think. I agree use of dictionaries & word searchers are cheating! (But I still resorted to a little bit of it, LOL) :)
Any clues on the 3rd m6/24? I've got the bishop's hats and the "deserves". The last one is giving me fits!
Missing one D - any clues as to what it is? I've got: de4/5 x2 de5/12 de6/27 x2 de5/16 x2 de6/27 de6/21 x2 dr4/7 x2 dr5/16 x2 du4/5 du5/12 x2 dy4/8 x2 dy5/18 Thanks in advance!

saladspork - du5/12 - got that from someone's reference to the lead singer for Limp Bizkit...
anymore clues for the i8/55? Carp's clues at 03:44 pm haven't really helped as I haven't found the other words yet!! I've got 115 words but not the important ones! : ))
Lolly have you got the b8/70?
add an s to one of your dy4
babbler - the i8/55 is the plural of the i7/40 - its wot a kid does when their parent passes away
Babbler see 05:54 pm jeanniejinx

rad, only missing 2 i's now. from the early posts i think it's an i7/40 and an i6/27... any ideas?
ch7s - one you wear, esp if you're a french lady. the other is another word for pharmacy
second one - a pharmacist
ok, got the pharmacy one, but not the other one!!
where you go to pick up medicine ch/7, and a ladies straight flimsy shift ch/7
good point. it's the british word commonly used for pharmacy. "Boots the....."
have a tr7/36
thanks guys, the pharmacy one was ok!! but i still cant get the other one!! any more clues for a rather stupid 17 year old!!??
lolly - swap the consonant at the end of medicine ch7 and replace it with a vowel
lolly - the shirt is next door to the pharmacist..
woooo!! aww thank you all!! ive got them both now!! - so proud!! haha!! you're all brilliant thank you so much!!
Uneaixoise > at least 1 each St5 & st6 missing. Are you sure about those two sm/5's? My stat gen says 174 words which is two short, but it also says s=26 and sm5/1. The two differnce is on my T's at 32 instead of 34. There might be 177 words here i think.
thanks guys for all your help! ive not done too bad for my second day - 74 words with 1047 - hopefully will be even better tomorrow and beating you all!!! sleep well all you english lot - have a good day everyone else!!
Nite Lolly see you tomorrow
night night!
Yeah, I think Uneaixoise's 2nd Sm5 hast to be illusory. I've tried all possible combinations twice with no reward.
I thought I was the only one who said RTFM, Fred. I loooove it. :)
fit 1 - it wasn't big and it wasn't clever so fred got sent to the naughty step....;)
Brandyjack (or anyone!) - Can I have a clue on the 3rd St6? I've got the one that Mick Jagger does and the one Keith Richards does. ;)
babble virgin day one 103 words 1426 points. going to zzzzzzz
used to hold up a roof - or a funny walk
you do one with a spoon
do that Stray Cat St_ _ _ ()
Blech. I had the 3rd St6 all along. What I'm missing is the 5th St5... I've got St5/10 x2 and St5/14 x2. And the 5th is???
i think that's the one mick jagger does... lol. what's the third one??
I'm having trouble with the 7 letter ones HELP!!
Although I guess that's what Jagger does. I only have two myself. It's amazing how hard it can be to find a 5 letter word when you have the first two.........
it's the spoon one - but I can't think of anything to do with the rolling stones
sorry--2 sm4's and 1 sm5
So there's an St5 that has to do with a spoon? The St4/4 is obvious, but I can't see any way of lengthening it. Am I blind?
The 3rd St6 is an 18-pointer meaning to vex or annoy, present tense of an S5/10.
Does anyone have a clue to the 2nd T7?? I've got the Tr7/36 meaning to cut into thirds (I assume), but I can't find the other for the life of me.
anyone who can do these without a dictionary is dangerous. I can handle the olde english, the latin and the french. But words like that are by guess and by golly......
I don't think using a dictionary is cheating... in fact it's more educational that way. I can't remember the last time I spent so much time with my dictionary.
love the Keith Richards and Mick Jagger references!!!
Doogle - I cant get that "st" one.
don't get the spoon reference at all
found that "st"--never heard of it before
Sorry about the spoon - me being stupid again.
to find the obscure "st" Google "To vex; to annoy; to startle"
10 words to go . . . jeez
if the correct total is 176
I'm missing 4 m's... this is what I have so far: me4 6 me5 14 me5 14 me6 24 mi4 6 mi5 16 mi5 14 mi4 6 mi5 14 mi4 6 mi5 14 mi6 24 mi4 6 mi5 14 mu4 6 mu5 14 mu4 6 mu5 14
Brandyjack, some people have a really knack for finding needles in the haystack and seeing things stand apart from the rest. Not everyone who starts this will attain that skill immediately. Because most of these words are pretty basic. Just enjoy and learn.
Anyone want to talk T's? I am missing 11. Am I blind?
many thanks for the ST.
I'm missing seven T words. I haven't got either of the T/7s : (
I don't think there are two t7's. If there are only 7x7, then there are 2xc56, 2xI40, b740, t736, r736
is a list of the words posted after the puzzle closes?
I have one to the t7's- to cut into three
I'm missing 1xI/40, t7/36, r7/36. any clues?? I've got the i7/40, what the meek get.
Saladspork- you are missing mi6/27
I got the T/7!!! yayy! just i/7 and r/7 to go.....
... for the 7s I mean......
Reposting 8x2 7x7 6x30 5x62 4x75 176 words b-9 c-15 d-21 e-10 h-5 i-9 m-22 n-1 r-24 s-26 t-34
heh... i was just figuring out a mnemonic word to help me remember which letters i still needed words for... when i found the mnemonic word in the grid!
That's it, I'm done. 120 words, 1777 points. Will try again tomorrow :)
meh, time to go home... 156/2252... maybe i'll try more later.
Eh... time to leave work now. 165 words 4.85 2434
Does anyone out there have the 3rd m24??? I've got the bishops hats and the one that means "earns," "deserves," or is a brand of cigarettes. But the third one... ???
WOO HOO, I finally got the T7 word
The m6/24 is asuperlative of a m4/6 and its plural m5/14.
Thank you, butterfly! That's been bugging me since about 2 a.m. e.s.t. Now, as to those pesky r-, s-, and t- words...
What are your favorite dictionary sites to help with clues?
I'm missing 2 c's, I thing ce5 and ce 6, this is what I have, any hints would be great. ce 4/6 x2 ce 5/16 ce 5/14 ch 5/20 x3 ch 6/33 x2 ch7/56 x2 cy 5/22 cy 6/36 Am I missing Ce's and any help?? Thanks all
Doogle, did you get the 4th M6 yet? M6/27.
Yep, got it Brandyjack. Thanks! I'm down to 2 Rs, an S and 2 Ts. My head, she spins.
Is there some way to get a complete word list for the current or a prior day's game?
jax, ce6/24 is a colour.....
missing a ce6/24 (color), ce5/14 (grecian girdle)
I'm stuck on the i's... I have in6/27, in7/40x2, in8/55, in4/5, and in4/4. From what I read earlier I'm missing two 6's and a 5, but I'm baffled. Any clues available?
Ugh. Can anyone point me to my last, lost m? me4 me5x2 me6x2 mi4x5 mi5x4 mi6x2 mu4x3 mu5x2 Thanks!
thanks brandyjack cagey - you need in 4/9, in6/36, in 6/27. they are all related to length (not metric)
brandyjack - you just got me the Grecian ce with your question. Google it and tweek the last letters and you'll get it. Thanks
Jax - got 'em. I can't believe I missed those. I'm American - they should have jumped out at me. It must be time for bed. Thanks
I'm still stuck on r/7. any clues anyone? thanks in advance.
oops, I've got it. it's the other i/7 I'm looking for.... (goggle eyed from thinking too much!! lol! )
St5 - I've got 4 of them but am missing one. I've got: St5/14 - guitar action St5/10 - a support St5/14 - vapid wines / unfermented graped juice St5/10 - vex, annoy Any hints or clues on the last one?
The other i/7 is related to the i/7 and i/8 (based off the i/5) that you probably have.
doogle, st5 - a funny walk
Babbler - that's the same one as the support, right? I've got that one. Unless there are 2 St5 funny walks? Calling the ministry of silly walks!
hints on the r/7?
stumped on T4's I have th x 3, ti x 3, tr x 3, tu, ty x 3. I'll trade u similar help. :)
doogle, (blush) I think you're right! have you got st/5 meaning "A slight gleam or glimmer; a glimpse" ?
kimdog, it's a plural of a 6/24
Thanks, Babbler - you're a gem!
my pleasure : )
Harv - you're missing a tu4
kimdog, thanks for the clues, but I'm still stuck! haven't got the i/5 either.... : (
Still missing R5s. I've got, in order: re5/18 re5/12 re5/18 re5/14 ri5/16 ri5/14 And that's it. I'm missing at least one, and perhaps two... help!
Doogie your st5 means "To vex; to annoy; to startle." It's actually an anagram of one of the others!
nevermind, that's all
4 of the I's are related to getting something left to you in a will (or the opposite of "out there")
Reposting 8x2 7x7 6x30 5x62 4x75 176 words b-9 c-15 d-21 e-10 h-5 i-9 m-22 n-1 r-24 s-26 t-34
Babbler - there isn't an i5 ! i7 clue: Q: Is he in there with you? A: No, he's not "insert i6" here And then make it present tense for the i7
Doogle, fab clues!! got them! you're magic!
ok, down to 2 missing m's mi5/14 and m6/27 and si4, si5 and sm5. Any hints? I need to get back to my life!
doogle, re5/10
BOO
Okay, found another R5/10. There's no definition I can find anywhere (though there are a couple of Dutch ships bearing this name, but it is an anagram of a t5/10 in this grid. This leaves me now with: re5/10 re5/18 re5/12 re5/18 re5/14 ri5/16 ri5/14 I'm pretty sure there's one more r5. Any hints in the right direction greatly appreciated!
Oh. Is that the one you meant, Brandyjack?
can't find a def for re5/10, but it appears to be simultaneously a german name (people and sports clubs bear it) and it appers in an olde english william burns poem/ode to a horse.
Is there anyone out there who's completed the Rs and Ts? If so, can you tell me how many 4-letter words starting with each there are? I'm uttering many 4-letter words start more sibilantly in my quest for my last 4.
doogle, thats the one and there are only 7 r5's.
doogle 7 r4's, minimum 13 t4's, possibly a 14th. my stat gen only showed 32 T's so there are two i don't know about. one of which appears to be a T7, so i don't know what the missing T is.
Huh. Well, I've already got 10 r4s and believe there to be an 11th, and yes, 13 t4s.
doogle, have you got 2 T7's? my stat gen agrees with the one posted that there are a total of 7, seven letter words, but mine says only one T7. Which is the angle divided by 3 thingy.
there's an re5 that means 'to balk', it's spelled like the re4 'eurasion sandpiper' with an extra letter
sorry, must have gotten confuzzed there. 11 R4's total, not 7.
that would be re5/10 and re4/4, respectively
Doogie -- I've also got 13 T4's, but I'm still missing 5 T's, so not sure what they are
Omg. you really did say boo j-murph
Doogle, call me an idiot, but why can't I get that i6 word (present tense i7)??
kmahabir - try it as two words put together. not out but ** and not there but **
jax - THANK YOU. Sometimes I overlook the obvious.
T5s. They're out there. I know it, you know it, but they're hiding. Two of them, the little rats. Here's what I've got T5-wise, in order: th5/16 x2 ti5/16 ti5/14 x2 ti5/12 ti5/10 tr5/12 tr5/10 tr5/14 ty5/16 6y5/22 Please help me stamp out missing t5s! Thank you.
there are two ty6es, one a past and one a present tense of the ty5/22
never mind. i can't even read anymore!
No prob, SFNeil. I've already stamped out the T6s. It's the T5s that I hates.
Doogie, you're missing at least one ti5/10, and can you tell me anything about the ty5/16?
Rebegging: can no one help me with my lonely missing m? I've got: me4 me5x2 me6x2 mi4x5 mi5x4 mi6x2 mu4x3 mu5x2 Any crumbs appreciated!
sfneil - ty5/16 is a plural of ty4/7 - one who fastens. Thanks for the Ti5 clue - off to hunt the little devil down.
sfneil - you're missing an mi5
a blessing on you, Doogie! I'm betting the ti5 I've got you don't is an alternate spelling for the strength of a chemical solution
sfneil - Nah, I had the tough one. I was missing the very obvious one that rhymes with the one you were missing. I now have one (*&^?! t5 to go before I finished this blasted puzzle and can go eat my chocolate gelato.
Wow! I feel as dumb as you do! Thanks again... down to two s's and two t's... arrgh
sfneil - Sounds like one of your missings is "my" t5. Since I simply can't see it, and I'm down to typing in combinations beginning with tch.. , I'm going to go have my dessert now. What S words are you missing? Oh, btw - it's doogLe w/ an L please. :|
Sorry DoogLe! My tired eyes are all scrunched up. I'm down to 2 s's and a t now. Could you look at my s's before you go? se4x6 se5x2 si4x2 si5 sm4x2 sm5 st4x3 st5x4 st6x3 So many thanks!!
sfneil - You're missing an Si5 and an St5. So - your missing T is a 5 also, yes?
I assume so. But I honestly don't know how to tell (I'm still quite a newbie).
Oh and thanks for 's' advice! I'm off to hunt them down...
nailed both s'es!! Thanks a million, doogle!
No prob, sfneil. The way I track letter #s is just by crossing them off of a printout of the stats. That's how I know that T5 is my nemesis. So, I've got: th5/16 x2 ti5/16 ti5/14 x2 ti5/12 ti5/10 x2 tr5/12 tr5/10 tr5/14 ty5/16 ty5/22 Going to bed with but a single word hanging over me is unacceptable. Grrrr.
Doogle, if you're still around, here are my t's: th4x3 th5x2 th6 ti4x3 ti5x6 ti6x2 tr4x3 tr5x3 tr7 tu4x2 ty4x3 ty5x2 ty6x2 Any luck yet?
looks like i have a th5 you don't. they're both common words, spelled the same except for the penultimate letter
what's the mi6 that's not the bishop's hat?
And from your list, looks like my missing t is not a t5 after all. Wah!
it's what the bishop is after he's been given the hat!
on a closer look, doogle, looks like we might have all the same t5s... i'm getting addlepated over here!
sfneil - 'fraid both those Th5s were on my list. Your T list is, sad to say, identical to mine. <grimace>
Well, it looks like "Wordly Wise," one of our new players from across the pond, methinks, got stumped at 175. "Maybe the stats are wrong," I shout, hopefully.
Hold on, doogle, I got it!!!! It's actually a type of food fidh apparently, but if you think of the ty plural you led me to earlier, it could be their victims!
er... "food fish"
Oh, man.... that was almost worth it! Ecstatic right now. 176 words for 2579 points. Pouring myself a scotch!
sfneil - congrats! So, it's a ty5?
Doogle, it is indeed! it's a ty5/16, as you suspected all along. No 'c', though. It's the title of a Melville novel without the 'p'.
Oh and with an extra letter at the end.
Dude you have to let me know when you get it. You've just got to get it! I'll be checking! You were so much help to me! Thanks!
Fish caught! Nasty little bugger! If I ever get a chance to eat one of these suckers I'm gonna go for it! Thanks, sfneil! See you tomorrow. Doogle
Right on, man! Enjoy your dessert!
thanks sfneil - any help with the si4 that's not what you call a king and the si5 that's not its past tense?
syncopate - Si4/7 is a trig function, and the Si5 is informally used for emphasis after 'yes' or 'no'.
syncopate, hard one to give a clue for without actually spelling it out... the definition is a "hyperbolic function of an angle". It sounds like what priests don't like it when you do, with a sneaky silent letter on the end. Hope that helps... I'm outta here now, having spent way too much time trying to find a fish!
When the puzzle is done, and you review the previous day's stats, where do you find the list of all words?
Go to archives to choose which days puzzle you want, then click on a players name. You will get their list for that puzzle.
but how will I find all the words I missed? By clicking on someone's name who got them all, maybe?
Nicole, that's right. I've only been here a few days (and lord knows how much of my life I'll spend here!), but every day I've been here there have been people who have completely solved the puzzle. If you click on their names in the results, you'll get the full list of words.
wow. just a measley 80 words. I think I'm throwing the towel in now.
