Love word-games and reading. Both easily portable and inexpensive amusements. Never have as much time as I would like to BABBLE! Babble is fun although I'm not sure it makes me relax, more like pull my hair out in frustration. I sometimes paint but no technique. Walking our black Labrador Oscar is best exercise but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and my hubby walks him now. The dog does some gardening, then I fill in the holes. How could I forget to mention my two cats? Pedro keeps his distance until he wants to snuggle and seems to like water as he stays out in the rain or swims in the cattle troughs. Coco, she is more elegant BUT she is also very imperious in manner and attitude. I have renamed her Empress Victoria and when we battle - she wins. However, Oscar and Coco will sleep together and she cleans him up but Pedro is a loner and a bit too protective of me, which causes snaps and snarls sometimes he threatens the Lab and Oscar just leaves the room. All my animals have been presents from my children. Like I needed more company after they all left home! They didn't take their various assortments of pets with them and eventually the pets all died - of natural causes. We decided NO MORE PETS and to travel. I sometimes wonder if there's a dastardly plot to prevent us roaming the world and spending the inheritance (NOT) by surrounding us in needy animals. It's back-firing because the pets cost so much in food and vets fees etc etc.
I have always been what is today called 'green' but in my world it is simply not being wasteful, making do and mending. I buy in charity shops and recycle anything I don't want. I can usually find something in the house or garage or somebody's skip to repair things. I buy new when I have to. I think 'global warming' is a 'rip-off' idea, which is making much money for the instigators. A 'war on waste' would have been more appropriate, starting with the commercial and manufacturing industries and not forgetting the big supermarkets. There are so very many ways to reduce our usage of water, power etc without spending trillions. Rant over!
BABBLE keeps me sane! Has it? UPDATE: No longer have two cats as Pedro had to be euthanised because he bit me and gave me serious blood poisoning and the vet said no other option. I miss him so much. I don't now exercise Oscar as the terrain here is very uneven but he is an old dog now and slower than me!
