the j is easy today
Yes they were, DC :-)
how weird. A Pizza Hut delivery vehicle just drove by. That shape on the roof was classic Pizza Hut. I didn't know we had one around here.
i just received a request for donation lwtter from a college that was mailed 8 years ago. it's a full moon.
All we have are people on little mopeds who deliver pizza in the back boxs. Nothing fancy like that lol
Your postal is a tad slow, T Owl LOL
i think the girl got it wrong. i think the mailing was end of fiscal year begging but based on my joining their radio staion back then.. they sold the license two or three years ago.
but our postal is slower than ever at a time when it's easier and easier to get around and mail sorting is automated. go figure.
either way, they
re out of luck
If I went to send a letter here on the island to a resident here on the island it would have to go to the mainland to be sorted then come back to the island to be delivered lol
ah, bureaucracy.
also, if a number is off by even a digit it goes into dead letter bin for months. no one even tries to deliver it.
That is crazy.
isn't it? my SIL birthday card came back two months later, for the number 18a instead of 188. they are one of the few people in town with that surname.
181. they are residents for about 10 years there.
Some guy in the UK was making his own stamps with his own designs and no one in the postal servicenoticed for about a year LOL
You would of thought with an unusual surname the post person would of known whom it was for, T Owl!
here we can do that via the post office. have never ddone, so do not know how it works. that is a fav story!
not unusual, just not many in town.
i need to get into the garden and work a bit. have lots of herb seeds, need to get them potted.
i hate potting
though the weather is good for that tedious task
Hope it goes well, T Owl. I think potting is relaxing!
Well I am finished. will go and do other thigs. Nice to see you, DC! Take care.

Good Evening.
Good evening Nef
Hi Nef and other non-cranky people. I just spent a couple of hours with a very cranky 8 year old. Had enough of whining.
Hi dan63; how are you this evening?
Hi Bugsaw. I was just dealing with a very tired & cranky 10 year old myself (who should have been asleep an hour ago!)
That is what happened to this one. Her Dad "forgot" to send her to bed on a school night. Poor Mum and sister. . .
Oh oh. My grandson just found out the requirements for his second degree black belt for TaeKwonDo & was arguing with me about them. I finally said I don’t *have* to pay the $$$fee if he won’t listen!
man 3 words left and I am stuck
good for you, Nef. I finally said that I would go home if she couldn't remember how to speak to me without being rude. Since this is her special time with me she tried harder
I have 33 more to go cherly and am not a good cluer but will try to help if I can
(I’m also tired; I drove 240 miles today home from a conference in the rain.)
driving on the highway in rain is very tiring. I hope you both go to bed early tonight.
I have had two clues so far for the first an 6 and cant for the life of me still get it think I have tried to long lol
I will try to help you look for the words also cherlyq What are you missing?
the other are se 6 and se 7
an + m****ral cycle for women was the clue that helped me. All you do is type an and then fill in the * letters
or add one consonant before the last letter of the an5,10 just after it
there are two se 6,18 words. If you have the first one, the second just changes the last vowel. The 7 is the plural. you are SO close to both
An 6: the last word in a prayer (but change the “m†to an “nâ€); and add the first 2 letters of the opposite of “goâ€
ok ty Bugswa
thanks Nef
fire works
Sorry, I’m a bit slow at clueing tonight
YAY cherlyq
man I was seeing crosseyed
YAY, cherlyq!!! WTG!!!
Do you know about Morewords?
no
what is Morewords
this was a good puzzle
it is a tool I have to use at the end of my search when I am blind to words. You can Google it. You type in the letters you know and put a dash for the letters you don't. For example: an----
oh cool I will have to look for that
it will show you a list of words that could be the one you are looking for and that helps narrow things down
well its gotten late going to hit the sack thanks again
lots of people use it and lots of other people scorn us out for using it. Who cares?
you are welcome
I use it when I don’t want to resort to Lickety’s list. And I’m sorry I couldn’t answer sooner; my game froze. 😕
Sorry Nef...work exploded for a moment. I am fine. How are you?
I’m fine too. Just tired from along day & dealing with cranky kid.
What kind of work do you do where work “explodes†at this time of day?
I manage part of a security company...work explodes 24/7, although not usually an actual Horrible thing (Thank goodness!), usually just someone trying to go where they aren't allowed. Recently, it's homeless people trying to get out of the rain, which is why companies hire us. Unfortunate, but a reality.
That’s kind of sad; but I suppose companies don’t want wet homeless people hanging around either.
(I didn’t know it rained much in San Diego)
(We are getting more than the usual amount of rain this year...almost doucle normal)
If they didn't use doorways as restrooms, or leave garbage and trash around when they left, it would be as big a problem. With the issues some of them have, it can be dangerous to leave them out where they can hurt themselves or others as well. It really is a lose/lose situation for everyone.
And we’re getting lots of rain up here in MN too; the Mississippi River hasn’t been within its banks yet this spring up here.
I've read about the weather being bad throughout the North and Mid west. I am usually glad that I live here with our 3 seasons...perfect or hot or rain. Never found anything like it anywhere else.
That’s true. The sad thing is, our “system†kind of causes some of the problems; doesn’t it? I think if we had decent mental health care; our homeless population (& our jails!) would be much smaller.
Ahh, but da63; you don’t have the thousands of green colors in the spring; or the very distinct 4 seasons either. 😉
That's a big part of it, but we don't make it any better by enabling them either. I have personally offered to help get a homeless family into a shelter to get out of the weather (in dead winter...cold and pouring rain), only to have them tell me that they don't want to get off the streets because "we like it". I felt so bad for the kids!
no we don't. One green, no snow, and palm trees don't turn colors. But our average is 70 degrees, light clouds, a breeze off the ocean. I have never wondered why so many people come here from all over the world.
I’ll never forget the winter some relatives came to visit from SanDiego when I was little growing up in NW MN. I swear my aunt & her sister were blue the whole time they were here!
As far as the homeless, some of them are safer on the streets than in the shelters they’ve told the media up here.
I spent January, February, and March at Ft Dix NJ as an Army recruit...Caught pneumonia my second week of Basic Training, caught it again 3 weeks later. When I came home after I was discharged, I didn't get cold again for 30 years. drove my ex-wife crazy!
So you are acclimatized to San Diego?
They have family shelters, women only shelters, and most of the shelters here have some form of security, but there are still problems.
Yeah, we have the same thing here.
It has to get down in the low 40s before I grab a jacket still, but I have always loved rain and snow. I was the only recruit to volunteer for snow shovel duty.
LOL!!! Most recruits must have known you were nuts then! 😄
Most of them were eeither from the deep south, or far north. I figured half of them hatedthe cold and the other half had shoveled enough in their lives already. I grew up in San Diego, Backpacked all over the Sierra Nevada Mountains as a teen, so it didn't bother me that much
We had a neighbor move in next door 1 November. She was from the Middle East; & at first she thought it was so much fun to shovel. About half way through December; she wanted to know when spring was coming; there was too much snow for her to keep up with it all.
I just looked at the time; I have to get up early & take hubby to an early morning doctor appt., so I should get to bed before the flip or I’ll be up too late again.
It was nice talking to you again Nef. See you next time.
Good Luck, & Happy Babbling!!!!
Thank you.
Same here, dan63. Niters!
Anyone need a clue before the flip?
not i, said the little red hen
