good morning all
Good morning, spritey.
*hugs peach& Hello dear one! How are you doing? Any improvement re. dizziness?
How you be?
How you be?
Some, sprite. I had to cancel a dental appointment because I couldn't get ready....I told the lasy about the dizziness and she said that she has had it and was fron an inner ear problem. Gosh, I never thought of that.
lady
what does your gp say about it?
I have an apt. in a couple of weeks....can't get there before then.
How are you doing?
I had a spell of dizziness some time ago and it was BPPV, you might want to look that up too.
I will. Did it last long?
I am okay. Got back the results from the blood tests and most things are good. But the gp said she totally understood my being tired, because I have a serious iron deficiency. Probably fixable with pills though, so not a biggie.
about a week before I went to the gp, then she told me how to treat it and it went away after a few days of that
it is a pretty silly remedy :D
Good news then, dear one.
I just looked it up.....sounds like what I have.
true :)
Hey, I don't care if the remedy is silly, I will try anything.
in an age where there is a pill for everything, the epley manoeuvre is funny. You go sit on the edge of your bed, scoot back until your calves hit the bed so that you are safely seated.
then you turn your head to the side and then turn it until one ear is pointing to the ceiling.
cross your arms, hands on your shoulders...
... and let yourself fall sideways on the bed!
repeat, to both sides. You may feel nauseated and more dizzy at first.
the idea is, that the tiny particles in your inner ear that cause the dizziness will spring loose and move back where they belong.
when my doctor told me, I asked her if she was gonna bring out the leeches next. She laughed so hard :D
Oh, honey, I will try this. Do I need to do it more than once a day?
brb, doggie wants his breakfast
yes, preferably a couple of times a day, if you can stomach it. Take rest afterwards.
Thanks so much, sprite.
my pleasure! I pray it will help you.
I will surely give it a try.
if it does, added bonus is that this is totally benign. No underlying illnesses or deficiencies.
Yes, that would be a wonderful thing indeed.
brb
cooee and g'day from me. {{{{{spritey}}}}}}
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend, lovely to see you. Will answer your email after babble.
np's. have achieved a few things today. showered and washed hair, hairdresser, bank, store for financial year diary, fuel in the car, supermarket shopping. tomorrow only gym, and food prep for Thom's lace.
wow, full day! You better take it easy tomorrow then.
not as full as yours was the other day. i am proud of you for doing what you did.
thanks honey.
oh, and we walked through an indoor market. over a hundred stalls with new and used goods. i found another colourful handbag. a little bigger than the one i had with me. this one is mostly blues and greens. so pretty.
ah wonderful! Just the thing for you.
loll... we only did about a third of it. also found some more of the green depression glass which Don collects. and i found a porcelain goose, quite lovely, pretty colours. just right for the new kitchen.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE !!!
am off to email :) *hugs peach* I hope the epley works for you and the dizziness will soon be over! *hugs rose* Enjoy your evening, sweetie, and sleep well tonight. And to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
Sweet dreams, sprite.
{{{{hugs}}}} for you honey. and love to peach. i hope sprite's little exercise works for you. xoxox blessings.
Thanks, rose. It sure sounds like it might. I will certainly try it. Hugs to you too, rose.

ps 5/12

'morning, all
given the size of this grid, i think it's still easier than the two small ones we had yesterday and the day before
It seems like the smaller grids have a higher percentage of strange non-words
it's true, the small ones are always worse
phantom pshaw
a grid with 3 s's helps!
well, I went to the list with 100 left and breezed through the a's and b's only to get stuck at my nemesis, the e's
is it a coincidence that is the first place I ran into more than 6 letter word, nope
g's & l's finished. now off to the knee dr.!
Good morning, all!
bo 5/18, pls
hi Judi
ends in sometime vowel bichon
ty montreal
np bichon ☺
*Puts snacks out for Judi, since it's a long time until lunch
found 30 Bs...moving on to next letter...
need six b's still
*looks at all of Judi's snacks*
Thank you. * nibbles *
*wonders are Cheetos good for you?*
Remember, while a drunk may pick a fight with you, the worst thing a stoner is going to do is steal your Cheetos.
Working today, so no med maryjane.

Hi Aloy. Is Mama Turkey around today?
corner e?
Hi Scrabbs.. haven't seen her
yet.. she is around
EN5 not exit
I had a Mama deer with twin yearlings out front--devouring foliage.
nice scrabbs
were you fauning over them scrabs?
I love seeing the deer up close. They are beautiful creatures.
ty mont
They are beautiful. Dumb, but beautiful.
Oh, yes, ruru!
they are scrabbs, saw a whole family last year while cycling...
Our neighbors feed them... I'm not sure I agree. But, I feed birds..
They need to look both ways before crossing roads.
Feeding deer is not good.
A big adult snapping turtle failed to make it across our road.. sad
Yes. Our neighbor feeds them too. Every day, she goes out at dusk and "whistles in" the deer. Cracked corn and green waste veggies on the buffet she has set out.
And I do mean buffet. It's crazy.
Oh, no, I have seen many turtles on the sides of roads. I tell them to not cross. I have rescued turtles by using my kayaking paddles.
Corn is bad, Judi. Tell her.
We have lots of little box turtles. Every now and then we'll see a big snapper. Nature surrounds us.
A young couple stopped and moved it to the side of our ditch. I called the wildlife rescue but it was Sunday. Too badly injured to survive the night.
I''d be shell-shocked seeing that many turtles
is the 9 a compound word?
g'day ruru
Several summers ago I came upon an injured female turtle with eggs nearby and visible in her abdomen. I called a rescue place and they told me to collect the eggs, place them in dirt, and on heat, until they could arrive. She died but the eggs were saved.
Good on ya, Scrabbs. Turtle rescuer!
wow, wtg Scrabbs
I rescued a loon on a Florida beach once. It had been bitten by a shark and washed up on the shore. I scooped it up and we drove to a wildlife rescue 20 minutes away. He recovered!
That is one tough loon.
what Judi said
The underside, his butt, was bitten--a large open wound.
do you think the loon was crazy?
Didn't realize there were loons in Florida. Thought that was only a northeastern bird.
is the 9 a compound word?
We help out Peace River Wildlife Rescue.. was it that one, Scrabbs?
I would say it was a loonatic for swimming in shark-infested waters.
sorry, MLF.. don't have it
Ruru, you are having a great time with puns this morning.
hi alloy ty
Lucky he didn't end up in the loony bin
Loons spend the first few years of their lives down south in the ocean.
if there was shark music (jaws) just before the hit, you could say it was loony tunes
groan.. chalk one up, ru
Maybe he would have preferred a stop at the sa-loon before having his butt worked on
i would hate to be bitten by a shark
you guys on the east shores are seeing a big increase in shark attacks lately
Kathryn Hepburn's boyfriend is in the grid
MLF - In regards to the 9 - yes, it is kind of a compound word.
hi judi ty will look
I gtg will be back...
Loons can survive shark attacks. Orcan they???
(-: clever, Judi
I passed halfway. Time to work on gardening.
have a great day, Scrabbs.. n seeing you..
*Keeps looking for Spencer Tracy
I am off today because I work Fri-Sun.
should have said on-screen boyfriend, Molly
ugh, long weekend Scrabbs
Hepburn and Tracy were a HOT item as I remember
I think Howard Hughes had a thing for her too.
I was thinking of African Queen
oh.. he's a great one
an obscure clue for bo4.10
thanks aloy i was drawing a casa-blanca
LOL ru
Trivia note: Bogart HATED filming in Africa (for African Queen). He hated the heat, the bugs, the animals, the smell of the river, etc. Hepburn, on the other hand, loved it. Loved the natives, the art they produced, the jungle, the wildlife, etc.
** used to be a big Bogart fan *
judi clue pls?

The Tracy/Hepburn love story always makes me sad.
I believe Mr. Tracy was married. Scandal!
And very, very Catholic.
And he was quit a bit older than her.
En7, please?
Hello? Hello? Is this thing on?
don't have it yet
There was only a seven year age difference between Hepburn and Tracy. He was a full blown alcoholic though, as well as married.
en7 ends in first four of the light tag game played indoors.

omg, the ma6/21 gave me too much trouble. hard eye roll.
*Wonders what a soft eye roll looks like
you know, the hard one is so hard your head hurts
soft one is not as dramatic
Oh then keep the hard ones coming. Drama is welcome here. : D
we are talking about the grid aren't we?
I was just trying to perpetuate conversation about hard ones. : P
always good to try to stick with it
and ruru comes out of the woodwork
hard eye roll again as I just saw my last 2, the se 7 & 8. had to look up a few of the sa words but they don't seem real, so I don't feel bad.
oh, and fireworks
It seems Ru has a bone to pick with the conversation.

happy to help
I was wrong, it's fifth disease
Oh let's be all technical and call it exanthem subitum
If you have fifth disease, do you only have 5/6 of sixth disease?
Where's scrabs
I usually use laymens terms such as "it's a rash that babies get".
my elder nephew got scarlet fever twice in his first 18 months. He still has a much higher than average pain tolerance.
Mr. B had diptheria when he was an infant.. He was born in post war Germaany and there was no vaccines
and whooping cough
Wow, he had the D and the P...no T?
I had fifth disease. I believe when it was named, it was the fifth most common of childhood diseases.
Oh, so now it must have moved to sixth since it is no longer called fifth
the rash on my face was a perfect butterfly shape
No tetanus
it's actually a parvovirus, interesting
"This disease, also called erythema infectiosum, got its name because it was fifth in a list of historical classifications of common skin rash illnesses in children."
And before someone asks, here are the "diseases" 1-6... Measles, Scarlet Fever, German Measles, Dukes Disease (another rash), Slapped Cheek Disease, Ro7
fifth is the only one I'd heard referred to that way until I just looked up ro7, and it's sixth. and thank you for the list.
Erythema Infectiosum and Ro7 are not the same thing.
correct, 5th is a parvo, and ro7 is 6th
ma 6/27, pls
my mom had rheumatic fever which is from untreated scarlet fever/strep
parvo, like the dog's disease?
I wonder who came up with Slapped Cheek Disease?
jesus was one, bichon
I'm guessing the medical people at the time were like, looks like someone slapped his/her cheeks.
Slapped Cheek Disease!
