Oh, I was telling you about the dog....she is a rescue that I have had for about 10 years.....had 2 but lost one in March....he was diabetis and blind, but I loved him so much. I still cry.

I understand. Mine got out of school the Friday before Memorial Day, talk about stir crazy... they're going to the Y summer camp but... *rolls eyes*
He’s signed up for the next 2 weeks of summer camp (from 7A until 5P); then will have his TaeKwonDo classes each evening until 8 or 8:30; so I was enjoying this rare time working on something fun!
We have to limit computer/online time or they'd be on it 24/7... go out and ride your bike or I'll find something else for you to be productive with, lol.
No doubt! Mine are just here in the afternoon/evenings whilst dad & mom are working.
Camp hours are 0600-1800 and they take them for different activities every week...

His Dad works from home as a QASpecialist with 2 small computercompanies & sees nothing wrong with a kid being on a computer for 6 hours straigth! *I’m* the one who worries about it, however.
I wish I could sign him up for more /different camps; but they arepretty expensive (especially the ones I know he’d like).
*thumbs up!* I don't know your community but we have 9 acres in the country on a dead end road. "Go outside and find something to do or you're gonna wish you had!", lol. We're very fortunate.
We’re in a suburb of St. Paul, MN; lakes all around our area of town. His school buddies seem to be out of town this week, so that’s why he’s hanging out at home.
Our county schools built a robotics learning lab 2 years ago. They offer week long "training/playing with electronics" during the summer but the Y would still have to be paid to keep their spots. Unfortunate but once the 12 yr old gets into high school, he should be able to sign up for classes..
This kid has been chosen by teachers to attend a 3 week summer academy each of these 4 years he’s been in school. Unfortunately this year his dad didn’t tell me he couldn’t afford the special summer academy, so he couldn’t go this year. 😟 He’s done intensive 3 week courses in videography; inventions (he “invented†a “come along cane so his grampa -my hubby- wouldn’t loose it again; and also acourse about making robotic ants that they could battle each other with . And I can’t remember the other course for his first year. This is for 1100 students, 1st -8th grades; from 12 different school districts.
(Yes, I’m very proud of this kid, I keep hearing from others that he’s so nice, good-looking, smart, and very talented at TaeKwonDo too. Not that I’m bragging, or anything. 😉

Yeah, I definitely would have found the money for summer academy for him. He’s a hard-working kid when he’s interested & focused on something. He’s going for his second degree black belt this weekend too.
My kids both tell me he’s the only “human†grandchild we’ll have; so we adore him. (We also have grand puppies & grand kitties too.
Sweet! My y/o took MMA classes when he was younger but they couldn't afford it later... then he went for Aikido for a season but they had to close during the summer months because they were in a steel building with no a/c... think he went back the following "opening" period but timeframe of classes did not fall in line with anyone able to take him... he was fierce, tho. One of the smallest in the classes for his age... I need to look into that again (maybe)...
Is he still interested in it? If so, & you can afford it; by all means do it! I think our grandsons ability and grades are due to being taught to focus.
I'm pretty sure both of our kids are done... Our girl child may foster/adopt but that's up for grabs... I mean the g/b child are 37/35 respectively this year and both have 2 kids who are 9, 13 16 & 20 this year (and a great on the way, lol).
Focus Is HUGE! They spend so much time wanting to watch Minecraft videos (or whatever) on YouTube it's mind boggling. (As I sit and type while having played Babble for hours on end, lol)
Ours are b/g and they’re 40 & 36; respectively. Our son is raising his son alone (his ex has serious mental health issues, but she does call & talk to their son nearly every night); while our dtr. doesn’t want to pass on “bad genes†to anyone.
Crazy stressful and unfun shift today at work. Figures. Said bye to the kids though. Some of them dont understand they wont be coming back until August. Sad to see. Now gotta work tomorrow 9am-3pm then Fri 8am-10am then I am done. 8 work hours left til vacation.

its been a tough year. they put me in charge of the school's most hopeless boys...theyre 12-13 and read at kindergarten level.. they dont get why theyre at school. they re in 6-8 grade and behave like first grade playing with cars etc.. im glad the year is over. its been really tough.. it makes me so mad they know my home life is awful.. they did not need to do this to me at work.. i almost quit 3x and i am looking for a new job actually.. cause this is they dont pay me enough for this
plus we had 6 dorm staff quit on us this year so now after six years of working there i am the most senior male on the student life team

and the superindenent and the director of student life are both leaving this year so we will have all new bosses in aug.. no fun..

we're never home during peak time.. like 5pm - 10pm.. were never home were at work... everyone dont see their kids/families/dogs

teachers see students maybe 1-2 hours a day.. we're with them 8-12 hours a day..4-5 days a week..
oh ill end up staying at my job lol.. full benefits. retirement plan. decent pay...
How do the students learn then?
oh were with the kids after school.. 3pm-1am.. teachers have them in the day time.. change teachers for subjects etc
