Anj - your wealth of knowledge amazes me. I have now learned a lot about smetana, kefir, Rome Beauty and Newtown Pippin but nothing to lead me to the R7/28. I'll keep looking :)
Dianne... it curdles milk... google it :-)
Dianne, like to keep the audience educated ;) It's 2 syllables - 1st sounds like small bird (Jenny W...) 2nd is a fishing thing, or curtains... that will get U a 6, the plural is the 7 :)

I've got all but one of the e's. (Why won't it accept 'erse'?)
i don't understand why it won't accept cresent either
Hi Bobsta. The t8 is a plural of one of your te7's.

Moozey.. yes you did... and it's good to be part of the dark side *LOL*
How has life been treating you recently sweetie?
Not only have I got 15 more words to find (and hardly done any of my chores today) but now I'm wondering what a 'D' is! LOL.
Morning all.....how's the babbling going?
Whoops......afternoon......
sorry jen that should have read ci5/14 x2
it is another forum that we belong to, we used to play at Discovery.com and when their games stopped a forum was created for us all to meet where would create our own games to play. I kinda lured some of those people over to this site because we all like puzzles, word games etc etc.
finally found the t8 Fank Yoo jacula (again)
thankyou Dr.God....97 words...how reasonable,especially on a Friday ;)
Afternoon all am stock on the last r, have 8xr4 3xr5 4xr6 1xr7 can you tell me what I am missing please!!!
Moozey - I shall have to take a look at the place sometime.
it is not much fun anymore they used to play a couple of games called Someone in Time and the other was Missing Link and they were games where you had to find someone in history with only some very cryptic clues to help you find them. They don't do them anymore unfortunately :o(
Is the J used at all? I have half the words and I haven't used it yet.
J not used at all in this puzzle
Fmitch 1 more r4 and 1 r7 I think.(Thinking harder by the minute)
Have all you "D people" ever tried the Where Are You? puzzle? I think it's on the Conde Nast travel site... they give you a pic and a bunch of cryptic clues and you have to guess the location. It's fun, but they only do one a month.
need help with the last 'n' anybody please? I Have: ne4/5 ne4/4 ne6/18 ne4/4 ne7/28 ne8/40
Bobsta, u need a ne5/12

Fmitch, Funny you should say that.........
I WORD. I/4 4 Anger; wrath
I work for a magazine publisher and they are a competitor
Yup, it's a redundant 'J', just like this 'J' will be if she doesn't get off her backside and do some work! I'll be back later to look for the last 14 words.TTFN.

I can only find three Es. 4/5 and 4/4x2 Any clues for the clueless?
h4/9...Rectangular, often tapering stonepost bearing a carved head or bust. Think Ancient Greece.

Judi - Yes, it's an e4 you're missing.

Chessy, put a t on your 1st re4/4 The se5/10 is a finch/canary. It's an anagram of a word meaning to wash soap off or clean with water :) Like car, before the wax on, wax off ;)
Whoops! Sorry Cadfan... I take it there are no brown bills over there then. Just greenbacks??
Thanx Anj, u are a star. May your wax never wane ..:)
hi new to site please tell what r these 4 x 4 4/28 means
Actually - most of them are no longer just green... counterfeit countermeasures!
Joja, it just means the letter the word starts with, the number of letters in the word and the total score eg dress would be d5/12 (2 1 1 1 1) x 2 'cos it's a 5 letter word. Check out the rules for that bit :)
...if there's an 'x 4' it means there are at least 4 words of that description in the puzzle (eg there are 4 x te4/4 in today's grid)
hi anj ..thanx does 1. ...se5/10 means word starts with se is a five letter & will fetch 10 points and 2. re4/4 means word starts with re is a four letter & will fetch 4 points

Joja, the er5/10 sounds like 'to make money' but is a different spelling. Also, there are only 3 x re5/10s in the puzzle: 1) what bords do at night but with a different vowel 2) what you would expect of you let out some properties 3) put back to it's original state

Beta Babblers, I just uploaded a bunch of changes to the beta Babble server. Force reload your page to load the changes. (i.e. Hold down "option" or "alt" while reloading.) Hopefully you won't notice much of a change at all. Most of the changes were to stuff behind the scenes. But if you do notice any bugs, please drop me an email. Thanks and happy Babbling!

You in UK Gwen?

thats me, off with my book. Night all
Dr God - beta site is really getting there - my one request would be seeing the words/points total for my list showing at the top of my word list rather than the bottom - that way I can view from the grid rather than having to scroll down
I'd 2nd that tryout!
OK, what happened? I sign off for 4 hours and everything looks different when I get back. Am I in some parallel babbleverse?
Force reload your browser.
(i.e. hold down "option" or "alt" while reloading)

Hi Anj you been out gallivanting?
thanks Kallia
I really am going to log of this time...walked away and left it before. night
Dr God, I liked the other fonts better;-) Though I'm sure we'll get used to it. These aren't quite as 'smooth', and the spacing between the lines of the chat log are a little tighter.
Thanx Dr G. It looks...tidier :) That suggestion about putting the running total at the top of the word list went right up my flagpole and got a salute. Any chance?
Don't believe THAT for a second Kallia ;) Haven't been out gallivanting...just being the genial host for rabid QPR supporters
cr5/14... think toothpaste
Sorry, forgot to refresh before being helpful...
Need last 3 e's... I have en4/5, er4/4x2, & es5/10... TIA!

Cheers Dr G. Just out of interest, what is the highest amount of words a grid can potentially generate? Is it capped by the min 4/max 9 letter rule?
Jera, Brandyjack takes the honours there :) Need any help?
Yes, please trying from other end... any hints on the th5, please?
Sure, unit of heat...and also as in 'flask' :)
Sorry, there's 2... I need the other one
Plural of your th4/7
Oh, DUH. I forgot the rule... if there's an S beside it, go ahead & try to add it (even if it doesn't make sense, LOL). Thanks
the R20, and the T31 have left me..discouraged..ugh. I have found 78 words and am about ready to smack the monitor, and upend the keyboard.!!!!
...oh dear :( Of course it's capped by the min4/max9 rule. I really should engage brain before putting the fingers in gear. OK, any chnace of a 10/10 letter word then? hahaha
Okay, how about the st5, I already have the mean one & the cattle.
i cannot find one of the cr words. I have the one ..to reach the cr---. Can someone help?..i would appreciate it sooo much.
Jera, think 'moo!' but change the spelling slightly :)
st5/10 A unit of volume equal to one cubic meter
Woah there Lianakate! The last 3 words you've asked for don't exist in the grid. Check Brandyjacks summary :)
Yay! Thanks! Now I need last SE5... how can I explain what I have??
for the st missing..make the cattle word but eliminate one ofthe double vowels .and add one to the end..sounds like, but spelled diff. from the cattle one.
i was up two hours before dawn today..and am a little addled..I only have 5 c words..ci, ci, ci, ci..and cr.
Then you've nailed all the Cs for today Lianakate :)
OH, there's only 2 se5's... I have the bird
oh, i have the one cr word. Kewl. i have 4 ci words one singular and one plural ..of 2 ci..now , i shall proceed to bash my head in..UGH..

Also need ne4, not geek or bird home, TIA.
se5/10 west african language related to Fula
I thought there were 10 c words..o woe is me..(i shall go shoot up my insulin, perhaps that will help)
How do I do that with only one s in puzzle??
Yay, done with S!! Now on to N's
none of the se/4's are plurals that i've noticed....
any hints for the tu6/18 and tu7/28 that have nothing to do with soup?
They are in my universe! Sorry...i've had another brain/fingers interface goof up :( Now please excuse me while I sob quietly into my keyboard...
which set? The page dlippers, the gun emplacements on a ship, or the ones like the saw-bucks?
that's page Flippers.
never mind, the saw-bucks are te's.. font is too small on my screen.
Brandyjack - saw-bucks? $10 notes?
not the page flippers either. sorry
Lianakate, sounds like we both need a break :)
i guess the gun emplacements. whatever those are.
Lalobstah, must be the gun emplacements. Think castle, or tank. Possibly sounds like a medical condition which causes uncontrolled swearing.
NO. I HAVE THAT. THAT'S THE SOUP ONE. sorry for the caps, didn't see.
Needing help with the last er4X4. I have the one that's like German 'first', the lough in Co Fermanagh and the verb for 'goes wrong'. Any clues?
Haz, clue: former
i need re6/18 that is not resubmitted or someone who relaxes
thanks. i had it. sorry. confused between the soup and the gun. this is a long puzzle.
Got it! For fellow strugglers it's a sea eagle, apparently. Think of terns and take off a letter
Silky, nicked this from my earlier post: It's 2 syllables - 1st sounds like small bird (Jenny W...) 2nd is a fishing thing, or curtains... that will get U a 6, the plural is the 7 :)
thanks anj but that post didn't give me the answer that's why i was still looking for another way at it..i can't get past 'rod' in my mind for the second half and there's no o
OK Silky, try weight, or fish ... stockings :)
Silky, second syllable, Ena Sharples wore a hair - - -.
i don't know who ena is but how sad am i that i got it from the fish stockings, but not at first...i was like "fish don't wear socks!!!"

Okay, how about hu4? It's the simple ones that stump me...
I can't find anything about it that is not in latin. did you get the u4/6?
Jera - HU4 - go left. How about some help on the ST7 & SE5(not burn).
That's so funny... I'm taking Latin this falll... I think it will help! Oh, I stumbled onto it plugging in letters. Thanks for trying!
st7 is more of one of your st5's.
se5 - any of various brown and yellow finches of pats of Europe St7, ya got mean, and meaner
Do you have the se5 that's a finch?
I love being able to help others, I'm usually the needy one!
Like how sad is this... I need an er4 & er5 (probably a plural). I have finished, mistakes & archaic previous
there are a pair of er4's and an er/5 that are all variants of spelling for: Any of several sea eagles, especially Haliaeetus albicilla, of Europe.
I'm done except for 8 te's & 8 r's I haven't had the guts to match up second letter hints to yet. Ugh. Hubby needs 'puter so I will take a break but hope to be back in time to finish. Thanks for all help!!
Brandyjack & Jera - got both thos S words - thanks for the help. How about a nudge on the TE7 (not pottery) and the last TE6 (not shorter, more stresses or alloy). Please.........
Brandyjack, puhleeze give me a clue for the te8 that a Canadian can fathom. I get the Yorkshire dog part (I think) but NOT the US marine part

Blaze - 2 of the Hs are a variant of a large wading bird and its plural.

and one H is a loner who hasn't got IT...... oh dear, that's sounds like a crossword clue!
the definition for that H is : A rectangular, often tapering stone post bearing a carved head or bust, usually of Hermes, used as a boundary marker in ancient Greece and for decorative purposes in later periods
one H sounds a little like Patti who got kidnapped years ago.

I'm clueless about all that!! I remember when things changed. Would that be independence?? Friends who have travelled and visited have loved it over there! One day, I'd love to see what it's like.

Isn't Babble wonderful?? Is there any other forum where people all over the world interact like this? I love Babble....
Yeah. me too... i love this game. unfortunately i suck.
E4s wrongs, finish,-----while. E5 sounds like a girls's name. Any help?
Lijuan -- how long have you been playing? Give it time, you'll notice improvement!! It took me WEEKS to complete a game! And I didn't start using words I learnt here till yesterday!! I was soooo pleased with myself!! : D
I have tried erin and eric it says not valid
wonder how many times we will use the "ne + pee pee"?
ES5 - sounds like the girl's name.
blaze -- definition is : Any of a class of organic compounds corresponding to the inorganic salts and formed from an organic acid and an alcohol
Dianne -- I hope we get a chance sooooooon!! It's too good! : D

Blaze - have you found it yet? You can put 'poly' infront of it, to make a synthetic fabric........
I have been playing for a few months, but I play only on weekends when i am not at work... i am no where close to completing a game. =( nvm, i am contented trying to conquer as many words as possible
finnaly dawned on me.... me best friend too.
ahhhaaa! I've been playing EVERY DAY!! I feel the same, I'm content when I feel I've achieved as much as I can. The few games I've completed (only about 3 so far) have been totally by accident!!!! I still don't know what many of those words mean! : D xxx
I've been playing for maybe 2 weeks and have only completed a few of the games. I don't know what half the words mean and find many of then by letting my fingers dance on the keyboard. Now if I didn't have to work..............
Dianne -- me too!! If I had to work, I'd have no chance!!
The games starts each day just at my lunch hour so I get to play then and a bit after 6pm. Mostly I try to really "play" on the weekend.
It starts in the UK at 6.00am. Almost that now! I'm stil celebrating 'yesterday's' good news, and still sipping red wine. I suppose I should make a cup of tea soon!!! : )) I had a lovely night!! And I completed the game!! woooo!
you go girl..... I am awaiting the new puzzle 10 pm here
What was your good news?
Heh. Well, I tried to get as many words in the last four minutes... 5 for 43 pts :)
21 words ...not bad for only 15 mins to play this one
