10:48 am

any clues for sc5/18? tvm

10:49 am

Anj: My hero! Thanks.

10:49 am

babbler - a duck, also called a bluebill

10:50 am

how can asda not be a word? it's such an important part of life!

10:50 am

thx sherb! gottit

10:51 am

Thanks geobabble, will start searching :)

10:51 am

Karen, looks like it's an n6/21 - got closer to something

10:52 am

thanx denny didnt look close enough :)

10:56 am

anyone got the u5/10?

10:58 am

yes, it's a lichen

10:59 am

thx Uneaixoise! that's the only combo I didn't try!

11:00 am

It's a lichen, but why is the plural not allowed?

11:00 am

it's that pesky BabbleLogic

11:03 am

Like the past tense of co8/60 co10/105

11:05 am

I thought of that co10 Geo, but the rules only allow 9 letter words as far as I understand

11:06 am

ah, the single decimal digit barrier...

11:06 am

There have been plenty of 10-letter words in other puzzles. Just for some reason babble only considers that a noun, not a verb.

11:12 am

Finally found one! This puzzle has a 10 letter word, and an 11 letter word. http://beta.playbabble.com/869

11:12 am

who can forget 'acoustician'...still waiting for a chance to use that, lol

11:15 am

ac 4 6 ac 5 16 ac 5 14 ae 5 12 ae 6 18 ag 5 12 ag 6 24 ag 6 21 ag 4 5 ag 5 12 ar 6 21 ar 4 4 ar 5 12 ar 6 24 ar 6 21 ar 5 12 as 4 4

11:15 am

Well I did for a start :( I can't believe I forgot that... Totally be-Babbled lol

11:18 am

i just got here a little bit ago..and read some of the messages. Do you mean there is a CO word for 105 pts?..omg, any clues?..I doubt I would ever find it by myself!!

11:19 am

I don't know where you see the 105, but there is a CO word for 60 points. It's been hinted at in several places.

11:21 am

jami..ty. I was going mad..lol. There are some mighty large scoring words in this puzzle..

11:21 am

Lianakate, the game won't accept the 105 pointer. We were just talking possibilities :)

11:29 am

hey all

11:32 am

cathy can you adivse where I can get the program you have that gives the stats?

11:33 am

Anyone know which two d's I'm missing? d4 x 15 d5 x 6 d6 x 2 d7 x 1 d8 x 1

11:33 am

the program for the stats? i didn't know there was one. I know there is a site where you can look up different words, but not for the stats

11:34 am

Sorry Lola, i'm waaaaaay behind you today...

11:35 am

Reposting :) --- 250 Words Total --- --- Word Count --- A - 17 C - 36 D - 27 E - 24 G - 24 H - 5 N - 8 O - 2 P - 18 Q - 6 R - 20 S - 32 T - 20 U - 4 Y - 7

11:35 am

Anj- lol, have to go feed the family soon so I'm sure you'll overtake me then :)

11:35 am

lola - there are 7 5's

11:36 am

ah ok - sorry its the number of words and the breakdown I was referring to

11:36 am

Thanks sherb :)

11:37 am

fmitch... you can normally find that by scrolling down... later on in the day somebody comes and gives a total breakdown of two letters/values... that's always good when you're struggling with the last few!

11:38 am

No chance Lola ...i've got to get some nosebag myself and I have guests tonight so won't get back into this until much later on. I'm getting twitchy already :(

11:40 am

Anj- it's awful when life gets in the way of babble, isn't it? Hahahaha :)

11:41 am

It's terrible. This is the 5th night running i've been out (same again tomorrow...) so i've been playing catch-up in the midnight hours. We need clones :)

11:43 am

What a good idea! But the question is- would the clone play babble for you or live your life?

11:47 am

50:50, but we would need a hive mind so we both know what's what or it could get a bit wild lol

11:49 am

Okay, there is something creepy about the phrase "hive-mind"..... lol :)

11:51 am

I know, but it's quicker than debriefing sessions each day and cuts out any sly shenanigans :)

11:53 am

I still don't think it would overcome the problem of having one word left to find and it's one you are sure you've already entered!

11:55 am

...so much for 'attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion' then. Back to the drawing board :)

12:04 pm

Right, have to feed family now. Be back later :)

12:05 pm

Anj ... was that a Cult ref?

12:06 pm

Which bit? The Batty moment? I was confusing sims with clones I think.

12:06 pm

attack ships ...

12:09 pm

Hang on...Cult ref as in Blade Runner or Cult as in Astbury/Duffy?? Lack of nutrition is goofing with my brain cell

12:10 pm

ASTBURY!!! :-) one of my FAVES and one of my fave songs. Next to Fire Woman, of course cause that's my theme song. (playing with fire for a living does that to you)

12:11 pm

And silly me to have forgotten that stunning line from the movie. ONe of my fave bits. Always brings a tear to my eye.

12:11 pm

Anj, you have more than one brain cell... ;)

12:13 pm

I've got the two mythical snake beast H words, any help with the other two

12:14 pm

Chip, dogs love this... located on the sidewalk

12:15 pm

mtnjock...I thought of that but the spelling doesn't work

12:16 pm

Cool :) Love Removal Machine is my fave, although In the Clouds gets a close second. I've got a pic of Astbury with 4 of my friends taken at Finsbury Park in June '92 when they headlined :)

12:17 pm

AUGH! I am SO INSANELY jealous!

12:18 pm

Chip - there are three words of the mythical beast, one related enzyme and 4-letter Scottish adjective meaning insane.

12:19 pm

I'd better not mention that we met him at the Subterranea on the previous evening's warm-up gig then... ;)

12:20 pm

THUD.

12:21 pm

Hi, can anyone help me with my last re6/33? It isn't the one where you change the color of something again.

12:24 pm

I'm still just not seeing it

12:26 pm

Sorry Darleen :) You just stirred a memory...i've seen them 15 times. First on the Love tour in '84, last on the Beauty... tour in '94 and best at the Marquee in '91

12:27 pm

Morning Chick... How's you?

12:28 pm

(moans) ... oxygen, please.

12:28 pm

Chip - Don't try to go with the dogs loving it clue. That will only lead you to the words you already have. That word that you're thinking of is not in the puzzle.

12:31 pm

Fairly well, considering... How about yourself? What time is it there? I thought you were only on here in the wee hours of our morning over here!

12:31 pm

Jamiekins...I got that much...I went with the Scottish route and the puzzle's telling me that it's not a word (though the scottish dictionary says it is)

12:32 pm

It's 18:30.. I'm only normally here during your early hours... Just thought I'd nip in and see if I could find any more. Don't know why I bothered...lol

12:33 pm

Darleen, they keep getting namechecked is an 'influential' band now so a reformation is probably on the cards :) MTNJock...found another brain cell in a distant orbit :)

12:34 pm

That word you want... Ermm simple clue is repeating something isn't so again!

12:34 pm

Chip - Sometimes the puzzle doesn't accept words but then if you keep trying it will. That, or you're not spelling it the way the puzzle wants. There aren't too many combos of H4 words possible, though, so it's easy to try them all.

12:34 pm

My kids are back in school, so I can't stay up until the wee hours as often, or I am not fully functioning the next day. No more sleeping in for me unless hubby is home (which isn't often). How many have you got? 196 and just about of steam.

12:35 pm

219...and ran out ages ago!..

12:35 pm

The clue Deb gave is for the Re6/30. The Re6/33 you are missing is a porter in a train station. Or a bad creature the kids study in Harry Potter.

12:36 pm

Did you mean words or kids?....

12:36 pm

I think we're still missing several 7s that haven't been posted about. Anyone have them? C36 C40 D36 E52 G36x3 G44 H56 Q48 S36 P40 Y44 missing 3.

12:37 pm

Sorry Jamie...I'm just a confused person!...lol

12:37 pm

Anj, well, thanks for that. Better make some more room on the ol' iPod.

12:37 pm

c40 x 2

12:39 pm

LOL! Kids of course! Doesn't everyone have at least 200 of them?

12:40 pm

I have four.... feels like 200! and 2 grandsons lol

12:41 pm

Thanks for the re6/33 jamiekins! Finally got it. I was looking the wrong way. My three feel like a couple of hundred, too debs.

12:42 pm

Oh, man! I just found the first C/7/40 after a lot of searching and thought I was doing fine. Now I have to find another!?!?! I have the one meaning believable. Any clue for the other?

12:43 pm

Jamie....Clothes after washing... or my face in a few years time!

12:44 pm

Oooh - That's all twisted around in there, but a good one!

12:44 pm

jamiekins, there was a clue in an earlier posting about the other c7. I couldn't find it but if I remember correctly, it had something to do with tilting a ship over to scrape the bottom or something, and it went with a c6 and a c8. Hope that helps!

12:44 pm

That was the C/7/36, but I've already got that one. Thanks! :)

12:45 pm

My face looks nothing like the bottom of a ship!... Ermm then again!

12:46 pm

hive mind?..ewwwww, mebbe gestalt too.

12:47 pm

Tee hee Didn't realize there were two c7/36's! Thanks for that clue, debs. Now I've got them both.

12:47 pm

ok, finally got the h4...that gives me 4, 5, and 6 can someone help with the missing link.

12:48 pm

Oh wait, no! There aren't two c7/36's! There are two c7/40's. Sheesh... I am losing it. My brain has become completely babbled!

12:48 pm

Chip - There's another 6 (different plural form) and a 7 (enzyme related to mythical beast word) smithchick - I have the ship c/7/36 but it's the only one. What's the other?

12:48 pm

yw :) Well think I'll go get some ironing done now Jamie reminded me it needed doing!.. Cheers Jamie...gawd...lol Cya Chick take care x

12:49 pm

OK, then nevermind my last post. ;)

12:49 pm

...two c7/36s? And another c7/40?? ...bleat :(

12:50 pm

Bye deb. Now I have to feel guilt because I'm not doing my laundry. :)

12:51 pm

Blame Jamie.. all his fault!...lol Cya later..take care, be happy & smile... Lifes too short :)

12:52 pm

Hey, you could have given the clue that it's an area on a hockey rink and forgotten the laundry altogether. I take no responsibility! LOL! :)

12:52 pm

Chip, the h's all start the same except for the h4. Just mess around with your endings. Make one plural, etc. ANJ!! Don't look for another c7/36! I was wrong! (But don't tell my husband that-as far as he is concerned, he's to believe that never happens).

12:53 pm

Ooooh - There's an excellent C/7/48. Waterfall.

12:55 pm

And a second P/7/40 that must just be an alternate spelling of the other one.

12:59 pm

Yeah I found the P9...

12:59 pm

There's a D9, A P8 and 2 P7s.

1:00 pm

ooopsss ... too quick, it was the P8/55

1:00 pm

Sorry, make that 2 P8s.

1:10 pm

i have the P8/55 dealing with families...and hints on the other P8 or the Ca8/55?

1:14 pm

ahh, found the C8, just need the P8

1:16 pm

The other P/8/55 goes with the two P7s and a P6 and is the one referred to somewhere earlier - a fabric band worn around the brim of a hat or sun helmet. Also an indian scarf.

1:22 pm

thanks jamiekins!

1:23 pm

does anyone have a list of all the 7s? im missing 3: Q7/48 H7/56 C7/40 G7/36 C7/36 D7/36 Y7/44 G7/36 G7/36 S7/36 G7/44 P7/40 G7/40 P7/40

1:25 pm

I need a clue for the D9 please... been looking all day and still don't even know 2nd letter for sure!

1:26 pm

another c7/40 and a c7/48

1:27 pm

I have a G7/40, but can't find the G7/44.... any clues for that one?

1:28 pm

evanadine - also e/7/52 GingerUK - see 6:01am clue hugabugs - it's a color word, and refers to the state or quality of being that color.

1:28 pm

forget the D9 clue... I have the word but don't remember getting it!!!!

1:29 pm

Hugabugs, It's like the plural of a g5/12, but said with a lisp...

1:29 pm

de9/72 unsweetened

1:32 pm

jamiekins and Chessy, thanks for the hints. Got it now. Err... how about for that elusive E7/52???

1:35 pm

my C7/40 means folded or wrinkled. any clues on the other? or the C7/48?

1:36 pm

waterfall was the earlier clue for c7/48

1:37 pm

evanadine - credible

1:37 pm

Good shout for the D9 Edmo :) Hi Chessy

1:39 pm

Hugabugs, is that for the C7/40?

1:39 pm

evanadine, Oh yeah... sorry it is

1:45 pm

*whew* just need the E7 and ive got all the biggies. and hints on that yet?

1:46 pm

evanadine, I'm searching for that one too, then all of my biggies will also be complete

1:50 pm

It's a flammable gas. et

1:51 pm

Hi Anj, how's trix?

1:52 pm

thanks smithchick!! probably wont finish the puzzle today, but at least now i can rest knowing i have all the biggies. :)

1:53 pm

smithchick, thanks... you're a brain saver! ;o)

1:54 pm

You're welcome! Believe it or not, I actually happened upon that one tooling around instead of using a2z (which I love, BTW- I don't care what the purists say)!

1:55 pm

Does anyone have all the e's? I'm missing a boatload of them. I've only got 10. Eek!

1:57 pm

smithchick, I'm up to 21. Let me work out a breakdown

2:02 pm

My e's so far... Missing 3 ea4/4x2 ea5/12x2 ed4/9 en4/5 en5/10 en5/12x2 en6/21x2 en8/50 er4/4 er5/10 er6/21 et6/36 et7/52 ey4/7x3 ey4/8

2:06 pm

Thanks, hugabugs. The only thing I have that you don't is an ea6/21. It is a plural.

2:10 pm

I have ey4/7 x 4 :)

2:12 pm

Thanks, lola got it. smithchick, none of my ea's can be pluralized

2:14 pm

Both of your E/5/12s are verbs. One has a past tense, the other has another verb form with an s on the end.

2:14 pm

Just found a third ea5/12 which can be pluralised :)

2:16 pm

Right, sorry, there are 3. I just missed one of them when looking at my list.

2:16 pm

lola, just found both the ea5 and ea6. E's are done Woohoo! Didn't think there were that many words starting with e! ;o)

2:17 pm

thanks to you all, now ive got all the Es too! :)

2:17 pm

Go hugabugs! I still have 5 of the buggers to track down :(

2:19 pm

Still got 31 of those buggers to track down... :o(

2:21 pm

hugabugs- I meant 5 E's! Still quite a few more before I'm finished too :)

2:23 pm

200 even and im calling it a day! might pop on tonight to see if i can squeeze out a few more, but im pooped!

2:24 pm

lola, okay... gotcha!

2:26 pm

evanadine- so close but soooooo far away! I seriously considered giving up at 200 too but I have decided I must have a compulsive disorder as I came back for more! hugabugs- we are getting there :)

2:27 pm

heh, well, i leave work in 3 minutes. got some stuff to do at home, but ill probably check back in later. ;)

2:27 pm

I just realized that I have had an extremely busy day at work... only 93 words so far...

2:28 pm

Cool, see you later evanadine :)

2:28 pm

Its terribly discouraging..to work all this time for 150 words...to find out youre 100 short..Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2:29 pm

Hang in there lianakate :)

2:31 pm

Need clues for the E7 and the D10 please.

2:31 pm

Know what you mean lianakate, you think there just can't be any more words hiding!

2:33 pm

Please help! Which d am I missing? d4 x 15 d5 x 7 d6 x 2 d7 x 1 d8 x 1

2:35 pm

Judi- et7/52: flammable gas and there is no d10 :)

2:35 pm

lola, I don't think there is a d8, it should be d9

2:36 pm

Yes, hugabugs, my mistake. I have 1 x d9 not d8!

2:41 pm

Thanks, Lola100. I meant D9 and I got that one. The e7 still eludes.

2:48 pm

Can someone help me out and tell me the one I am missing in the N's? ne 4x4 ne 6x21 ne 4x5 ne 5x12 ne 5x18 ne 4x5 ne 5x18

2:54 pm

lola - missing d4

2:55 pm

Judi - Most chemical compounds end in ene, yne or ane. I hope that helps you on the E7

2:55 pm

Thanks Cmith, back to the monkey typing! :)

2:58 pm

3:01 pm

You're welcome! Off to watch CSI, be back in an hour :)

Judi think of Christmastime for the y8

3:13 pm

Judi plural of y7

3:14 pm

For the y7 and y8.... think fiscally

3:15 pm

Thanks, mo. I just got it. Compound words make me suspicious. I think the Y8 is stretching the compound barriers.

3:16 pm

omg someone has 200 words? i have managed 142 at 1993 and ready for pulling my hair out lol

3:17 pm

Could someone help me with the d9 (I know to unsweeten, but I am missing the sweet clue) and tell me which of the y's I am missing?

3:18 pm

4:10 pm

Anyone else having trouble with the page not centering over the grid after you enter a word?? Now it bumps up to the top of the page instead. It's driving me crazy! I have to start typing or scroll in order to get the grid centered.

Too many words for my allotted time...i only have 1/2 hour so likely i'd only find about 50 and won't even bother starting

4:22 pm

It's the dude from ZZ Top!!!

4:23 pm

Is there a completed word list when the puzzle is completed. I am at 145 words.... I will keep trying for awhile. I have struggled with a few puzzles and often wonder what the words were when it was completed. It would be nice to see the list when completed.(usually by others)

4:25 pm

At midnight, when the new puzzle loads, it will have a place to click on yesterday's puzzle. Just click on the name of someone who finished them all and it will give you the list.

4:26 pm

thanks muchly, I just got the y's nailed now on to the u's I have two u/4 and u/5 any clues for the final two u's ??

4:27 pm

blaze- go to archives, select a date and click on any name on the list, you will see their word list :)

4:27 pm

lola there was a de5/14 missing from you list

4:28 pm

the U's are u4/4, u4/5, u4/6 and u5/10

6:47 pm

Jera, you need 2 more monsters

6:48 pm

Jera, you need monsters with a 'latin' ending instead of the s (h5), and an enzyme which sounds like monsters with both the normal and latin plural letters in place (h7) Hope that makes sense %)

6:49 pm

Hy7/56, An enzyme that catalyzes the addition or removal of water from a substrate

6:50 pm

More latin, eh?? Thanks Anj & Gwen!

6:57 pm

Now the wicked, wicked G's!

6:58 pm

Saw the pics from Canal Street, New Orleans on the international news. Looks pretty horrific over there. Is it blowing itself out yet?

7:01 pm

Does anyone remember if any of our 'babblers' are from the areas devestated in the hurricane? My son is going to the Mobile area to work in water damage clean up -- his boss said may be gone a month .... This storm makes all the ones we endured here in central FL last year look very, very 'simple'

7:10 pm

Tedybeth, I believe Cat2 mentioned she was in the zone

7:19 pm

Hi tedybeth I'm in central FL too

7:20 pm

Need help with G's please... gr4/8, not color... gr5/12, again not color... gr6/33, not color or wants too much... & gr7/44. Whew! TIA!

7:20 pm

Hailing from NW Florida - in the panhandle. We had a truly close call here and are simply grateful to have escaped Katrina.

7:22 pm

Katrina was a real monster. I feel so sorry for everyone in its path.

7:23 pm

Jera, gr4/8 color without last letter. gr5 plural

7:25 pm

Jera, add past tense to ones you have

7:26 pm

Good evening Babblers...

7:26 pm

Jera, there is no other gr6/33 from the two you have. The gr7/44 is the colour again, plural, with a lisp.

7:27 pm

hi swmbo! jera, one gr needs a 'th' ending

7:27 pm

Would welcome clues please: se5/14 re6/33 not colour again ga7/36 not growing places gu5/16 ca6/24 not swerve ca6/33 ca4/7 not calf or picture game many thanx

7:29 pm

7:30 pm

love you brandyjack!

7:32 pm

...second that :) Unless of course we're both males in which case you'll have to settle for a firm handshake ;)

7:32 pm

I'll take the firm handshake.........

7:33 pm

Not sure why people think I'm female. Maybe they're off their meds.....

7:33 pm

are there five sn's....i can only find four

7:36 pm

you were referred to as she the other day which are you? which do you think I am? many names are asexual

7:36 pm

I assumed brandyjack came from booze - brandy and jack daniels, not the least bit feminine!

7:37 pm

Giving up on G's Q's are more valuable... I have royalty (2), odd, & the scottish heifer. Need 2 more a 5 & a 7 (I hope I didn't mess up this list!). TIA!

7:38 pm

No one asked, but, brandyjack, I've always thought you male. Your writing style is distinctly masculine. Just my impression. Thank you for the letters. Are you a mountie, or maybe a lumberjack? Stereotypes. Sorry.

7:38 pm

I thought both Anj & brandyjack were female (not that it matters), short for Angela & Brandy is usually a girl's name here.

7:38 pm

lmao - happened to me as well. Maybe Dr G could add sex symbols to the buddy icons to avoid embarassing mix ups.

7:39 pm

"He's a lumberjack and he's OK, he sleeps all night and he works all day..."

7:41 pm

Thanx kristin for your help - found the barracks..

7:43 pm

...er, the 3rd verse gets a bit dodgy there swmbo :).

7:44 pm

Ah, but that's why we love it...

7:47 pm

tabbycat & CSA -- we FL residents have been blessed this year, after taking it on the chin [and a few other places] last year!! Brandyjack -- whatever your gender, you are 'tops' in my book for doing all of these stats so diligently!!! Thanks

7:49 pm

tedybeth, don't speak too soon. Season't not over yet. Will be happy if it stays nice this coming weekend since we are planning a trip to the Keys

7:50 pm

and in mine too ,still too many words short, so tired

7:50 pm

tedybeth, you are quite welcome. It's an enjoyable (ok, addictive) game.

7:50 pm

Need help on last 2 Q's, my kids want me to watch a movie with them... have royalty (2), odd, & the scottish heifer. Need 2 more a 5 & a 7 (I hope I didn't mess up this list!). TIA!

7:51 pm

This is as close as I get to relaxing, which is actually kinda sad. ;>

7:52 pm

Jera, for the Q7, when you get your checker to the far side of the board you get ...... Now switch genders.

7:52 pm

Tedybeth - nothing to do but keep the chin up and upper lip stiff. We thought Ivan got us, but that was nothing compared to this, I think. Best is to try to keep life as "normal" as possible. And, brandyjack - xoxoxo.....

7:53 pm

Jera your 5/18 is a primitive grain mill

7:55 pm

thanks Kristin, I needed that one too. After picking my jaw off the floor for actually knowing what it was....... Jera, For me, this exercise in frustration IS relaxation......

7:55 pm

Need help, please, on the D7 and D9. Clues, anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

7:56 pm

to remove the sweetener, verb and past tense........

7:57 pm

hahaha CSA - think unsweeten/ed :)

7:57 pm

Thank you, kristin & brandyjack... I thought I had all the royalty! Taking off to spend time with kids. Might be back later to battle the P's. 173/2904 is resectable (but I wanna break into the top 100 ranking!). Happy babbling!

8:01 pm

Anj & Brandyjack - thank you, thank you. And that's me done for the day. The Monster Baby wants attention before he'll fall sleep. Happy babbling, all. "See" y'all on the morrow.....

8:03 pm

if you upgrade, does it take a while for it to actually go into effect?

8:03 pm

was instantaneous for me

8:04 pm

I upgraded but it's not working for me yet

8:04 pm

you have to log in as upgraded and then upload the picture into your profile.

8:04 pm

me too. the not working part, that is. :(

8:06 pm

Evenin', Folks! This is pretty cool!

8:06 pm

Do I log in somewhere different?

8:08 pm

no, same place. I didn't get any message about whether my payment was accepted or rejected. it just asked me to log in as a babbler pro

8:09 pm

Any alternative clue to "barracks?" Having trouble seeing it. swmbo, Anj, are you Britons? Much more verbally flexible than many USians. Than envious me.

8:14 pm

Last 6 to go. Can anyone help with these pleeeese se5/14 re6/33 not colour again ga7/36 not growing places gu5/16 ca6/33 ca4/7 not calf or picture game many thanx

8:17 pm

Chessy, ga7/36 - colour, past tense :)

8:18 pm

ca 4/7: vexing men who will kiss and tell.

8:18 pm

now why was that one so easy.....

8:19 pm

mab, I am a canadian

8:20 pm

Oops, er, Chessy, that was a gr7/36 actually...which U didn't ask for. So I will go and sit in the corner, play with my worry beads and twitch a little for now. 'scuse me... :(

8:21 pm

evening all..... 132 down... 118 to go.... blimey

8:22 pm

does anyone else keep getting spyware on there system whilst babbling?

8:22 pm

i just spent too much time looking for that ge7/36 that doesn't exist.

8:23 pm

yah, it's from that dictionary lookup page.... not exactly spyware, just pop-unders.....

8:24 pm

havent been on the dictionary page

8:25 pm

Canadians are similiarly better educated, I think. USians must get bogged down on silly social issues and no one learns anything. Education here has no solid core, or sense of history.

8:25 pm

skybot picks it up

8:26 pm

probably because we don't really have any history. Or at least, extremely uneventful.

8:27 pm

mab, I respect your opinion, but that hasn't been my experience with Americans, not at all...

8:34 pm

Thanks Anj, seems I did need the gr7. It's late & I'm a bit confused:) Think I still need: se5/14 re6/33 not colour gu5/15 ca6/33

8:34 pm

i was referring to our Canadian history.

8:37 pm

For the Gu5/14, Carthagenian plant used as an antidote to serpent bites.

8:38 pm

Well, BrandyJack, I don't know about you, but my ancestors were uprooted, deported, scattered and then returned to Acadie 250 years ago and I think that was eventful!!!

8:42 pm

most of my ancestors were recent immigrants (early 20th century) from Britain, Denmark and not so recently from Ireland

8:43 pm

Thanx brandyjack - not an everyday word!:)

8:45 pm

I do get your point tho about Canadian history. We are a relatively new nation with not a long written history...

8:47 pm

what I wouldn't give too unearth a 9,000,000 pound cache of Roman coin in my backyard....

8:50 pm

LOL

8:50 pm

Good Evening Swimmy.... How are you doing tonight?

8:52 pm

I have a collection of ancient coins and I can sit there for hours looking at them and day dreaming........ Several in the 1800-2000 years old range, one is 2700 years old.... it just boggles my mind...

8:53 pm

Just grand Callie. Are you a babbling idiot yet, or merely a babbling brook?

8:55 pm

I fear I am hooked.... Alas, and Alack! I shall never be the same. LOL

8:56 pm

yes, very old things are mind boggling, i think. I am even more moved by mummies and their wrappings, etc. I look at the woven fabric and think of the person who made it. Or pot sherds. Not that I have a personal collection, mind you. Museum stuff...

8:56 pm

Yes, I am hooked too. I wish the games had fewer words though, I almost never have time tio finish...

8:59 pm

I do miss the old DOL days though...

8:59 pm

it's the chase that counts, not the finish....

9:01 pm
