How long were you gone?
left sunday morning early, was supposed to fly back late evening on wednesday, but through an airport mixup had to spend wed night at the hotel airport. finally made it back thursday afternoon, but then had to go right into the office and again on friday!

Eww that sucks. At least you didn't have to change time zones... that makes it even harder to handle.
yeah, it was more frustrating than anything else, really... i love to travel, but not on business!
I know what you mean... besides all the travelling time, hassles at the airport, and then expected to put in full days. And often, depending on the occasion, you're expected to spend all evening and sometimes late into the night fraternizing.

Jera: nice e you, too! I had to go to Seattle on business for most of this week and, being a Luddite, I don't have a laptop! Hugs: indeed. I had made a list of great Seattle restaurants I wanted to try, but all but one night was spent eating crappy pizza and such with the folks from the workplace. ugh.

Seattle... how exciting... I don't travel much, but I've been told I would like Seattle...
I've been a few times now... I really like it. If I didn't live in San Francisco, I'd probably choose Seattle, or maybe Vancouver.
I've been to Vancouver a few times, and have driven through Seattle, but never got a chance to actually visit it.
I like wet, cool weather, overcast is the best... I am a bit photosensitive... get migraines in too much sun...
Hugs you should visit Seattle if you get a chance... it seems to me kind of like a cross between San Francisco and Vancouver.

Miyavi - I know scaring yourself half to death is almost a prequisite at 13/14 (I used to watch Tales of Mystery & Imagination on TV even younger than that) and was an avid reader of the Pan Horror books. However, don't watch these films if they are going to disturb you.

Sorry, Uni, I am just starting and so am not much help. Miyavi, if you want to be really scared, stay away from Stephen King. Try To Kill A Mockingbird, or Oliver Twist or Les Miserables (get the abridged version, Hugo can be terribly wordy) Real life situations are far scarier, and interesting, than anything Stephen KIng has written. Not that there is anything wrong with King, i have read and enjoyed most of his stuff.

Sad, but powerful. A great book. When I was only a bit older than you, I read War and Peace by Tolstoy. I don't recommend it, I was too young to get much out of it and have never tried it again.

yay! Karys :) Hi turnoviseous, only about 50% of the words in each puzzle are in common usage. You might need a reference site for the rest although the 2nd letter lists that get posted in the log are probably more useful :)

English as a first language doesn't always help with Babble... many foreign words are valid... then there's the wholse American English vs. English English & the various spellings...

Another way to get the pe5 is to take your pe4, remove the last letter, and add a preposition

Re the stats it is an average of yr individual score average on a rolling 30 day period alongside other peoples and it depends on how many are playing, how long they have been playing and what the total word score is (I think). Maybe Dr G was an accountant/tax man/programmer in another life to set something so complex up?

Miyavi - If u are even slightly tempted to watch any of the 'Elm Street' films, I suggest u start with part 2, 'cos it's the tamest of the lot...but if, as I imagine, u not one for gory scenes, do not watch parts 1 and 4 (Johnny Depp's character dies rather messily in part 1 and there's a scene in part 4 where Freddy turns one of his victims into a cockroach...ewwww gross...)

Okay, do you understand how the code works? Each tile has a value, so a four letter word using four tile with a value of 1 each would be a 4/4. You multiply the score by 2 for a 5 letter word, 3 for a 6 letter word and so on. Does that make sense?

Thanks Blaze. I have 11 left and have been stuck for quite a while. Yes, am experimenting with all of that, but have a some muscular problems which make this not a good thing to do for any duration at all no matter how well positioned. Now if I could only remember to get up every 15 minutes and stretch, do a little Tai chi, etc I'd be fine. But that's not the nature of obsessin is it?
