E11/96
Morning all... s/7 32.. Well done Ice
163. Dang, I hate it when I miss a word that I know, like INDEED or PINON. This is still as much fun as Chips Challenge tho
what's chips challenge?
my ranking is now 780!!! I've soared past the 1000 mark. Ended yesterday's with 67 words.
Good Evening everyone
Chips Challenge is an odd little game that used to be in the "Best of Microsoft" or something like that. Came along with Tetris. Years ago. Can't get it any more.
can anyone give me a word list. I can not go to babblers anonymous because I am at work.
harpjane, I know what you mean -- but excellent job nonetheless!! :D Great job Stace!!! The more you play the better and easier it gets.
how many words today board still has yesterdays please and thank you

Hi stillcrazy, how are you this AM?
q/7 40
Hi Joy, hi Grey Woulf. Doing good ty and yourself?
pretty good, I finally finished a board again - so I am pleased -- I know I say its about the hunt for the words rather than the final solution, but near misses get frustrating after awhile
got my first 100...off to bed. see u all tomorrow.
well you go guy! Congrats and yes it is frustrating. Was there not long ago myself. Seems once you get over the hump of solving a few, it starts happening a lot more frequently
goodnight ramix
G'nite ramix -- I'm at 68 -- will definitely be turiong in soon as well
c/7 36
c/7 32
40 and trying not to doze off. You all must be night owls or in much farther time zones. Nite. I'll come try some more after some zz's.
night stace...sleep well.
G'nite Stace - yeah, I'm a night owl in PA -- where are you?
GW--I'm in WV
Get your well earned rest Stace Hope to see you tomorrow!
I'm in Colorado

1:43 AM here word list has been posted on BabAnon but you said you can't get there JoyLee so that's not much help (*sorry*)
I would like to know the list the tells you the first letter & the number of letters, and the points. or the list that gives the first and the second letter count
http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabbl ersanonymous
no we have secure computing at work, and that is one of the websites that it will not let go to for some reason.
click under General

stillcrazy, truly I don't know, I'm just nosy :D do you have any pets?
oh. sorry...I see you want it posted when it comes up
stillcrazy ....what are your favorite foods?
used to have two kitties but my grandson was allergic to them so I had to find them a good home
Turkey/pasta/cheese to list a few
sorry to hear that, despite the name, I have three cats of my own
I cannot go to ezboard either. I guess I will have to play tomorrow. goodnight.
Joy... I just posted them for you!
night Joy
That's super! What are their names?
Sorry JoyLee, see you tomorrow Hopefully your job isn't too boring
I am looking for the list that breaks down all the words in the list and gives the first/second letter(either one), and the number of letters in the word, and the number of points you get
It is very boring. I have to sit here and wait for the phone to ring, and it never does really from 11pm-7am in the morning. I play babble to pass the time.
JoyLee - the reason the list is on another site is that some people prefer to find the words themselves, and by sharing clues, without the second letter list :)
I am very sorry to here that, JoyLee, but on the plus side-- this board is so full of words that you should be able to hit a bunch without the breakdown
Joy, Debs posted the word list for you....look down the chat log.
Hi sherb! I finally finished a board again!!
well hi there sherb!
example of the list that I am looking for(( c/7 32))
cybernan, HI! I missed your logon before -- hope you didn't think I was ignoring you
hi GW - well done! hi stillcrazy :) I haven't played much during the week recently, especially the big ones like this, but I usually look in before I go to work in the morning, just to see what the new puzzle is like. Sorry I won't have chance to play today, but good luck for this one :)

wow brandyjack...that was nice of you
Sorry for the log damage.
Thanks cybernan -- I'm not sure how far I'll get -- I have abusy day myself tomorrow - but I can't resist the game or the chat :D It's a good thing I don't care about the rankings
78 words and it's midnight. I'm outta here.
well hi there harpjane and goodnight! Sleep well
I'm at 83 harpjane and still haven't found the f8 Sleep well *hugs*
oops, yes I did - I just didn't notice
think hearth....
thank you brandy
wow you made that one easy for us
gw the F8 is a compound word. F4 plus another one. OK, now I'm really outta here.
Well, I've had enough fighting with the stats generator for one night. QU with side by U causes trouble for some solvers.
OK, Harpjane, sorry to have kept you until tomorrow...
well I, for one, appreciate your fighting with them for us.
I'm with stillcrazy, brandyjack (*salutes with full honors*)
oh my God. 288 words
Hi everybody! :) Happy news! I turn 23 today.
Hi nena! Yep, it's another big'un
Happy Birthday to you Nena!!!
Felicitations on the celebration of your natal anniversary, nena!!
*beams* Just wanted to get a glimpse at the puzzle. I got a big day, so I'm off to bed :)

Well, thank you for letting me be among the first to celebrate with you, nena --- have a good rest and enjoy your day!!!
And now my friends, it is my turn to bid you all a fond adieu... I have 107 words and all my Q's (I don't have all the P's yet, but I never mind my p's & q's anyway) *hugs to whoever wants one* TTFN
lol sweet dreams Grey!
Good morning all
It is so quiet in here. Where is everyone?
Hi GreyWoulf - I think we've all been busy getting the easy ones. That done, it's time to call it a night. Cheers!
What log damage?
hello everyone... quiet on the log I see, must mean we're all busy monkeytyping....
log damage, was Brandyjack apologizing for the HUGE posting he did for JoyLee
I guess I'm going to start talking to myself... is anyone out there... hello, knock - knock...
whoa is me, all alone in this world of letters into words into points into stats into rankings into the universe of babbleland.
Morning, been busy monkey typing
How's it going Jen?
well hello pinky sunshine FMitch, your icon is always music to my eyes... ok, maybe not music but certainly positive and happy.
it's good, whipped out the Qs first. then moved onto the Fs. Avoiding the vowels, as usual.
I really wasn't going to play today - but an 11 letter word? Irresistible!
LOL and thank you! Can't stay to play too long but have just nailed the e11, in state of shock!
wtg FM... not even close here... see you later, I know you'll be back. I always see you around 6 am my way or 3-4 hours from now. Good luck
Ata~ LOVE the icon....
thank you, jen :) its a pic I did a few weeks!
Clue anyone for the e11 ... please?
Ata~ you created it? I'm jealous, and not the least bit creative when it comes to art.
cor~ I'd give one if I had it....looking myself
corpsvalue ~ get back work!!!! :o)
Readhead this is my job. I get paid to babble.
Doh! I knew I shoulda stayed on that shift...
blimey...got the e11 monkey typing..never heard of it !
and no definition!
ok, corp and read... curiousity has gotten the best of me...where do you both work?
It was one of a big series of pics I did for an abstract art website :)
what's the website, Ata, would love to check it out. ;-)
Sorry, I'm off the clock. I could tell you but then I'd have to babble you... or somethin like that... ;o)
ahhh, a babbler of mystery... love it read!
Kallia - would it be too early to ask for a second letter on the e11?
that site's still under construction, but most of the pics are on here, which is my personal little gallery! http://elegaer.deviantart.com/ gallery/
Atalante, I'll check it out soon, when I need a mental break from the letters.....
en11
Thanks myownvenus!
I need one of those soon! This E11 is starting to annoy me :)
e11 is a weird word build on en5/10 and think beach
HEY GUYS IT'S A EN WORD
THE E11 IS AN EN WORD
my-own-venus.....you are my-own-hero...what a Fantastic clue...
Did you get it? YAY
Is the en5 the one you see on a door? Beach?
GOT IT! Took me a minute but yes, what a great clue!
Hi All - I need some help with the Rs. I am looking for the Re6/26 that comes right after the re6/21 that means re plus finished word. Any help on this?
Dianne It's S4/7 with re in front
tiger - I've got that one - the one I need is the 7th on the list of re words. Thanks anyway :)
re6/24 think of the tv advertisement with the man in the monotone voice telling viewers to get the re****. He's holding a large eye.
Grandma - I haven't lived in the states in many years so I have no idea what your wonderful clue means :(
Dianne I've just found the one you are looking for
Why would someone put eye drops in his/her eyes?
same 1st 3 letters and then the opposite of in.
Grandma and FMitch - actually now I do remember seeing that commercial - but the 2nd clues did the trick. Thanks so much.
your welcone. now i'm off to bed.
Meant to say you're welcome. I really do need to get to bed.
FMitch - do you have the re4 that comes right after that re6/24 that you gave me the clue for?
I think so, re4/5 plural colour.
FMitch - thanks - I thought I already entered that. DUH
Have you done any of the e's yet I am missing one - the er6/18.
er word means 'wandering'
FMitch Er 6/18 wandering in search of adventure or on missions of chivalry
oooo thankyou for that, will go and hunt it out.
Usually used to indicate wandering from normal limits or standards.
phew, that took a while and it was staring me in the face all along. Thanks and bye for now.
Dam*! 10 Q words? I got 5 right off the bat and thought that was it!
stuck on h6/21 & h8/50 any clues, please?
h6, think ghosties
ha 6/21 - looks like an old English word
WOW!!!! just logged in what a whopper for a thurs definitely a Nono today, got a visit to the dentist this PM Ah well Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a plural and resembles furry creatures...
The ha 8 has the same four letters to begin the word, then extend it. Sounds like the furry creature is literate.
Anyone have a hint on the Fe8/55? I am having a terrible time with the "F words" :)
haz, I'm illiterate on the literate clue...could you spell it out for me again...thanks
dianne, I'm still looking for that also..
Good Morning!
The furry creature is the ha 4/5 . Alter the order of the vowels to get the first part of the word. For the ha 6, add es on the end. For the ha 8, the second part of the word sounds like what you learn to do with a book. Sorry, I'm not being particularly clear!
Fe 8/55. First three letters sound like fair. Then add personal pronoun and ti4/4.
haz~ thanks and wow that looks Greek to me!
I just hope you can make sense of it! Sorry, it's sometimes difficult to get across but hopefully it will send you in the right direction.
wow Haz, thanks...how far along are you?
I'm at 103 words - haven't downloaded the stats yet so am noodling as much as possible.
haz~175 here, but would never have gotten those w/out your help so muchas gracias!
What time is it with you?
5:15am Chicago, Illinois
haz, thanks for that h6 clue, finally got it
Haz and Jen - I must be in a real fog plus totally dense. I can get that fe8 for the life of me.
dianne, all of Haz's clues: rhymes with parities first 3-furry animal pop. in US as pet - personal pronoun last 4 she ---- her shoelaces to keep from falling
Fe - From the f, go left for one letter, then diagonnally up for the second letter, then diagonally downwards for the third. Personal pronoun (I) then ti4/5 - men's neckwear plural.
Jen - are you an early riser or a late to bedder?
I'm an idiot that thought the NOC shift with my job would be a nice change of pace. I work 11:30p- 8am and am ever grateful that babble exists!
dianne~ any closer? fe8/55 also rhymes with ra8/40
Haz - if I am ever lost I want you just a call away! Thanks you so much for hand holding me.
Well, that explains things! My family can't understand the attraction of staring at a computer screen and typing furiously, but I'm addicted!
Dianne, you're welcome. I think everyone needs a helping hand now and then and I know I appreciate all the help from fellow babblers when you just can't see the word.
haz~ you're ahead of us here in US (in time, as well as other things :-) ) right? Is it Thursday close to noon there then?
Jen, it's 11.30 am here, and I'm putting in the time before a dental appointment at noon. It's just a scale and polish along with discussion about the merits of a veneer versus a crown. Whatever's least painful...
whoa! sounds like a pretty penny; either choice. Been there, done that, am planning surgery my self, removing 2 teeth, and getting implants. faster than braces... teeth are so expensive and yet so very important.
oops, forgot....hey poo's mom- cute monkey
LOL thanks Jen - my tribute to monkey typing
We're fortunate over here in that dentistry is subsidised to a certain extent but I will still have to pay some of the cost.
doh! finally got the ha8.... thanks!
does anyone have the 2 ou's ou7/32 and ou9/66? driving me nuts
ou's....I get more money than you!!
Jen - the 7 just means to have a bigger salary than someone else.
And past tense for the 9
got it haz...thanks much... have a great time at the dentist and good luck!
Thank you - have brushed and flossed and just getting ready to head off. I'll be back later.
kallia~ sorry didn't see your hint- cute!
see you then..
anyone got todays word lists please
its ok Jen...I am pretty invisible lol :)
morning all
Mornin' Cathy
bejay, a few word lists further back in the log :-)
bejay~ along with some GREAT clues
thank you

down to 199 to go... i feel like the 'Biggest Loser', being happy to be under 200! lol
LOL Cathy!
jenwould - the ou words: think not in but --- plus to merit or deserve. The second one is just an extension of the first. Hope that helps.
"requote" isn't a word?! arrgghh!!
Hey everyone :)
Hey Miy, what are yo udoing babbling at this time of day?
ICT lesson FMitch :D
LOL
Dalmation~ got em... any chance anyone has the last si6/21....??

Hey Kallia....thx for scrabble site....finally worked out how to use and have now played three games...realise times an issue tho....thx hon

sassie - 288 words
hm, my icon is scaring me...time for a change, I think. Any suggestions?
your welcome, maybe catch you there some time.. think you can play untimed games...but I may have that wrong!
thanx!
Anytime Kallia....I'm tbear007....silly but someone had already pinched my name
Hello tbear, Miya et al ,I seem to have been a minority brit up to now so nice to see you all (not that I don't like to see our American pals of course) tbear my son had a look at that site last night and is a bit nervy about it, he has loads of security on his comp but would rather I didn't use the site for now If we get any feed back from other users I may be able to persuade him it's safe so let's see what others have to say shall we. this is a biggy for a thurs Eh? and I go to the dentist later so not optimistic about completing this one
Miyavi. my punctuation seemsto be all shot these days. Want to give me some lessons? lol
mu I have been using that Scrabble site for almost 2 years with no problems at all. As long as you have virus and firewall I really think it will be fine.
Know what you mean Mu.....fingers crossed and good luck at the dentist
Thanks Kalia I'll let my son see your remarks
Infact....I'm off for a game now...
stirred but not shaken eh Tbear?
enjoy Tbear good idea Mu see if you can persuade him , its good fun
Why me?! I accidentally wrote "mine head is happy" the other day in an email
need si5/12, please
past tense si4/4
I'll put the pressure on him tonight Kalia. I haven't had a good game of scrabble in ages. Son is doing an OU course for a degree in computing and has so much security on this comp it's a wonder I can get in. It's understandable though I suppose in this day and age.
thanks, jen, I thought I already had it
OK Miyavi you're sacked already(lol) nice to know it's not an age related thing.
yes Mu it is understandable, anyone who isn't protected is very silly, but saying that it is possible to take it too far the other way. :)
I have found todays fish in the grid!
Atalante, was just looking at your gallery--thanks so much for pointing us to it--beautiful work!
Mornin' all =o)
yes I noticed that too Fmitch. I nice mild one at that, so when I go to whack myself with it.........
How did I know Miss Jenwould would me playing? :)
Definitely not an age-related thing. Only my reasoning was I'd just seen a Miyavi fan video, my brain had temporarily dropped out
Good morning, everyone... what a lovely puzzle today (lotsa words but easy to find)!
lol jenw hi tsm and hi jera
hey Toe, been suffering through on and off since the wee hours of the morning! How are you?
FMitch-hey there =o) Cool pic by the way
hanks tsm, wish I was as chilled out as it looks but after battling with the c's (only 3 left to find) am feeling a bit fraught :)
jenwould - Ah yes! The struggle is nearly over though. You know i hear it will be close to 70 today. Should enjoy that if you are able. =o) And as for myself, I am still asleep and turned off my alarm
FMitch - I completely understand! Yesterday was my own personal battle with the keyboard and game. I was sure that words like rohte and riri were really words LOL
It was really hard for us to pull ourselves outta bed this morning... well, all except the four year old. Even sick, the child has a real zest for life...
Toe, working today? I'm going to Galena this weekend. Really truly, leaving after work Fri. Got hotel res. and everything!
288 eh? methinks thats gonna be a bit much for me today... mornin all! :)

I wan't going to play today but when I awy there was an e11, I just had to.
The EN9 is very like the EN11 - think cat illnesses
genious Kallia...thanks!
Would, how cool is that! You will have to let me know how it goes? You are going to have so much fun. Hope the weather will be nice. It is beautiful there.
yeah just went to costco printed out pics from Va. to make room for Galena..hoping the leaves are still pretty.
Oh my various gods... I found the freakin' 11 letter word...
anyone have a clue for the 11?
So sorry but I must call it a day... finally broke 3000 pts though, still have 59 to go. perhaps later today, perhaps not. Everyone enjoy babbling... BBIC girls, have a pleasant work day. Hi NoVA Jen!
Bye jenw, till next time
Sorry, still in shock... bye, jenwould!
have a great day jenwould!!
afternoon ladies and gentlemen and confused people. How are we all?
Hi Dachef. Yup, confused is good ...
yo chessy - same as usual then.
how many words?
hey, Dachef... I found the 11 letter word & now no one is talking to me, LOL
jera - I should bl**dy well hope not. Nobody like a smartass!!!! ;)
hi. anybody know where jera might be?
you mean the Jera who might have a clue?
Ginger is here too!
Hi guys! :)
jera might have a clue? To what do you refer? I just think a day without jera is a day without sunshine.
Hi Lola!
hey, lola!
True joel, but I am truly in the dark ...
whassup lola!
Hey lola :)
<---- iced coffee mocha
And when we're in the dark, it is truly the one-eyed woman who is queen (not in today's puzzle)
Morning all. You know you've been babbling too long when the puzzle looks familiar. Have we done this one before? I'm scared...
Hi yA Every1
'tis lola herself. Let loose the doves!
atlante, do you have a website where we can check out your work??
Big mistake joel, I'm now covered in dove poo ...
*doves fly from cages into the bright blue sky* Loooola!
lol! Hi joel :)
Sorry, had a potty emergency (not my own)... en11 = bad buggies that make salmonella (at least one type)... I was reading about this the other day researching flood problems & aftermath issues... wowzers
probably the best is http://elegaer.deviantart.com/ gallery/ - enjoy!
You also get a related 9... infection ending...
Thanks sweetie, will go check it out :)
Was anyone watching TV the night of the false millenium change. Some dufus thought it would be a good idea to let loose boxes of doves at midnight. Only one problem. Doves are diurnal. They opened the boxes and the doves just sat there going, "What? We're sleeping! Go away!" There were people literally throwing the doves into the sky. A great television moment.
joelgee, i've heard of the same thing happening at weddings! :-)
LOL joel ...
Joelgee... you said false millenium change?? Marry me. I can't tell you how many fights I've had with people about counting to 10...
Thanks jera! Got the nine but can't figure out how to get the 11. Any hints on that ending??
End with Caesar's bad day in March (plural)
Oh lola loves a wedding! Can I be your maid of honour jera, I have a great outfit!
Congrats to the hapy couple! =o) Where will the wedding be?
Sure, Lola... he hasn't said yes, though... LOL!
HELLO...hello?....hello? all that dove sh*t flying around and I'm ignored. Well, that's just fine. Don't come to me then, when you all want help with the 50 letter word I found.
jera-- okay, but not on the first date and NO doves.
Sorry... I'm scaring people today...
Details for the impending marriage TBD.
Sorry, gramma... I know what you eman about the puzzles starting to look the same... the good news is you can actually learn some weird words when you see them often enough, LOL!
*hands gramma a chocolate chip cookie* Hi =o)
Jera - if he doesnt say yes soon, I will kick him for you LOL jk ;)
Ty for the cookie and the recognition. I was feeling like a red headed step child for a minue there.
Jera- sorry, had to take small person to the loo. Thanks, got the 11 :) And shall I start getting the champers in for the party? Hi gramma!!!! :)
oooh. Getting betrothed to Jera and kicked by tsm on the same day. Be still, my heart!
Hey there lola!
Sorry gramma! I was lost in the world of de's!! Con't find one last de6/21
i like that 11 letter word.... nice to know
That's ok...I feel much better now.
lola-- As far as I'm concerned, you can be anything you want, but all wedding decisions will have to be made jointly.
jen de6/21 type of vine
Can I be Wedding Dove Thrower?
NO DOVES!
mark... the research is scarey...
Does any1 know what's up w/munner? I haven't seen the name come up and I recall there seemed to be a cancer treatment in progress.
pigeons?
need anyone to do the catering? very good rates!
Thanks davetins... still can't see it but I'll do some more monkey-typing! :)
vultures?
dachef-- you got it--as long as there's vegetable samosas.
albatrosses?
i skipped the research...just wanted the word
gramma- she was about the other day and it sounds like treatment is going well.
vegetable samoosas! *lola drools*
where's everyone at? i'm currently 97 words, 4.58, 979 pts
288 words and I'm discussing vulture and albatross tossing. Sheesh!
194/2769
hello........
Usually I have to ressrt to a2z or blatant begging to get the longer words... but I actually knew this one... that's what had me floored...
atalante - do you get a wafer with it?
113/1254
Michigan
Hi bubbles! :) What's your icon today?
hi bubbles....
Mornin' Bubbles (or is it afternoon for you?)!
only with the albatross icecream served for dessert!
well...gotta get "back" to work now...
i changed it two days ago but obviously wanted to take its time, its me on a swing (being a child) in crete. How are you?
okay. I have the first two letters and the last four letters. I just need the five in the middle.
Finally! Thanks again davetins!
jera, it's just gone 2pm here :)
Hi dachef, hi jere, its 2.14pm here, what time is it where you are?
ice cream? Hes back then. Well, hes been a wafer so long. Geddit? "a way for" so long? No, oh well, forget it...
Must be nice for new Babble puzzle to come up at a decent hour...
sorry jera spelt your name wrong, was typing too fast
argh I've lost my sketchbook. I put it somewhere *safe* to keep it away from the kitten ...
Just a bit after 9 in Virginia (USA)... Babble board comes up (new) at 1 am here... not a good time to start something... unless you are on a high from just finishing the old one...
joel- your five letters in the middle? Take another slang word for boob and put the tv medical drama in the middle :)
omg... I went to move my laptop and I got a hell of a shock and the whole thing just shut down. I could be the first person to die from babbling. It's not really the record I want to hold. What's up w/that?
Are you okay, gramma??
Goodness gramma! Are you okay??
Jera, I'm totally fine; but, wierded out.
I can see the urban legend now... killer game shocks unsuspecting players...
Jera, you could write for the onion.
Is your laptop still working or did you move to another computer?
phew! glad you're ok!
decided to google and actually do the research. got it.
It appears to be fine. I had to turn it back on and all...but everything seems fine. Never had that happen be4
you'll notice that after Jera proposed, she dropped the whole thing. Sigh. Left at the alter again.
Joelgee, the 11 you mean?
I got the 11 and the 9...woohoo
joelgee, the alter??or altar?
yes. seven come 11!!
okay. altar. was befogged by finding the en11
gramma, if you're an onion fan, you'll love today's headline: Bush Orders Mass Bald Eagle Slaughter To Stop Spread Of Bird Flu
I thought I was scaring people... I do that sometimes, LOL!
gramma- anyone who has been married will tell you that it really should be the alter.....
so triumphant about the 11, forgot about the other two gazillion words.
The onion and the Darwin awards keep me in stitches
As long as you don't alter my altar... ;>
jera, do we look like an easily scared bunch of people to you?!
I think I'm still in shock about finding that humungous word... wait till my husband finds out I proposed to a fellow Babbler... he might be a bit concerned...
jera-- must say, a smiley penguin on a skateboard; not so scary.
Hi all just a quick bavvle before the littlies get home from school in 50 mins. Did I see wedding plans again? This is a very loved up site! I do make sugar almond favours so if you need anything just shout! Lola missed you last night - no babble?
Snowy you are off to a bad start if you came here to bavvle...
OMG the spelling bug is still around!!!
And she's already married. Sigh. Next time I'm getting it in writing. Wait a sec. I have in e-writing.
I don't know Jera - if I could find out what it is I could make a fortune!
must go and put vultures/doves etc. back in cages. See you guys later ...:)
Hi snowy! Yup, went cold turkey yesterday and skipped babble for the first time since I started playing in August :/ Missed everyone terribly :( Favours sound great but it sounds like the bride-to-be may be getting cold feet....
Just don't accessorize with the albatrosses.
Joelgee - never heard of polygamy? We're a tolerant lot here you know
Is this better??
chessy, you might be missing one, but it really wasnt my fault. The oven door was open, and, well, er.....
polygamy? Is that where two parrots get married?
joelgee, that made me literally laugh out loud!
meanwhile, I'm spending all this time being chatty and the Babble Fairy is apparently not doing her job and filling in my grid. Stupid Babble Fairy.
Ooh dachef, are you doing your special roast vulture for us??
with a side order of salty balls?
LOL!!!
She left me for an albatross!! With GREAT... BIG... WINGS!!!
roast vulture with all the trimmngs, purified badger and lemon giraffe sorbet.
and albatross ice cream
MMMMMM. Lemon giraffe sorbet.
Which one would you serve with that, dachef?
I can do mouse on a stick for a starter if you like!
Do you use ordinary giraffe or randy giraffe for that, dachef?
'scuse. Which wine would you serve with that, dachef? Is the sorbet for cleansing the palate between courses?
I could brew up some eye of newt & toe of frog...
For appetizer, perhaps mini-mouse on a stick.
Yay! Mouse on a stick...my favourite :)
fur of bat and something of dog something, something fenny snake
fillet of a fenny snake, in a cauldron boil and bake
eye of newt, toil and trouble, and when shall we three meet again? <cackle>
My husband would probably offer the macaroni cheese I made as a child bride 28 years ago. It's still holding the back door open - or the savoury suet dumplings he ate 9 of while I was out and took 4 days for him to digest - (Recipes available on babblers anon)
By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes!
Is this a dagger I see before me- hilt turned t'ward my hand?
snowy- LOL!
Good Witch joke...
Or if you are of that persuasion... something Wiccan this way comes...
I don't usually cook things that you actually eat... poultices I'm pretty good at... philtres & such...
anyone have a clue for the co7/44?
Went to library to find "Macbeth". Library in disarray. Librarian on strike for more bananas. All librarian had to say was, "oook!"
jera-- did you go to the withcraft camp in Oregon? Some friends went. Enjoyed themselves.
It's hard to keep up with the puzzle and the chat when I am at work so forgive me if I haven't responded to something you have posted!
That's a bit too far for me... I'm affiliated with the Spiral Grove, the Shenandoah Valley Pagans.
must work now. later.
Ooooh, the Scottish Play... in high school, I was... big shock... a witch! *cackles loudly*
Bye Joelgee!

wow..and its 96 points!
begrery, if I had it, I'd help you... but I don't sorry.
Ouwachita and gramma...thanks, I got it too! but what could it mean?
bergery, it's a plural of a co6... it's a meat that is preserved in it's own fat. Usually, I hear of it as duck co....
That's my halfway break... gotta go do soem tidying up before the landlord gets here for the rent, LOL... maybe spend some time with my Babble-orphan son...
wow, what a word
Okay, gramma, I am slow today. Can you help me with the personal pronoun?

Hi sis! How you doing today? Thanks kallia :)
Go baggo! LOL!
hiya lotti....
Hey Lotti :)
is begrery still here?
de/6 one rhymes with a carnival wheel the other is what dachef feels for baggo :)
The en11, I got by getting the en9 - usually used with gastro-en*****, stomach problems. For the 11, take the last letter off the 9 and add Caesar's bad days in March.
ah, thanks kallia
***picking up pieces of dachef's heart, doning nurse's uniform and pouring cahmpers***
*tears running down face* Dachef, I thought I was the only one for you...

***goes and brings miyavi back hand tickets to japan***
toes- do you know that there is a complete second letter list at babblers anon?
lola - NO WAY.... show me the way my arch-angel!
oops, sorry--misread the message
Thanks davetins... that greyed out one box for me!! One box, at least...
Baggo, my happiness cannot be bought... hey. Did you say to Japan?!
dave-Thanks! ;)
other 9 is ou9/66 from an ou7/32
kallia, please could you help me with the de6/21 that sounds like a carnival wheel. All I can think of is carousel :/
Bugzy - thanks. how I feel too. Just squeakin out a few words from clues here while I'm workin. Got the en 9 as my first word. Trying to get that 11 but don't understand the Caesar clue......
***flashes airline tickets...and private screening just for miyavi****
lola - the wheel goes up and around, not around and around
toes- click on the last link in the friends of babbler box (top right) and look under general :)
mamabear .. beware the **** of

one of your to4/4 shurshy
didn't see your message Lola glad you got it though :)
smaller, I hope darleen is feeling chatty tonight!
ec's think of repeating notes without the h
hey mama - I'm just here to print out the grid on my way to jury duty
*winces* Please Baggo...hearing his name is still too painful. Smaller, I prefer my icon! My lovely Miyavi :D
ooooo Lola, you got that right! "Q/A with Darleen" Darleen, could you ask him to turn around?
no, i meant, i got it, after your first clue, davetins. hence the tyvm. :)
ahh miyavi...soon you'll appreciate the fine chiseled bodies darleen has when you reach my age..8-)
fear not fair maidens, for I am still here! Actually down to the last ten - always the worst bit!
last 10 Dachef??????? *mamabear totally in awe*.... got to get back to work. see ya all later!
how bout et6?
smaller ... I would but all you'll see is lotsa feathers...
Dachef, you make me envious. I have 19 words. Not 19 words to go. 19 words total. Too much watching my favorite soap "Babble". Have you seen it?
Ah...sounding weird here but muscles: bleurgh. Over-muscly people just look like they're wearing their insides on their outsides. Not a good look.
Dachef, you're baaaaack *runs towards him with arms outstretched*
Bye Mamabear:)
Darleen, that's probably best
miyavi....***holds tickets in hands enticingly waving them...oh hun***
Yeah, he's distracting enough without that
smaller - is that the surreal one where every day they have at least 4 weddings, lots of fights, banana therapy, custard jacuzzis and do strange things with fish?
dachef don't forget the bovine....lol
Hi folks. I've got 7 words to go and I'm blowed if I can see them. Think I'll take a break to prepare dinner... Oh, congrats to Baggo on her new job.x
ou 9/54 - paid more money I still cant find it! Any other clues?
I'm off...but thought you girls would like a look at my man before I go....he's so sweet and loving!!
Dachef, lol, oh good you have seen it. but shhh don't tell anyone, let's keep it our global secret
toe how about made more money
*enters hypnotised state due to waving of tickets* Oooooh...
anybody have a clue for et6?
thanks jacula!!! like your new icon miyavi
Hmmm lemem see here *think think think*
Thanks Baggo :D It's Miyavi...of course
Hi jacs :) 'bye tbear :)
i'm with you, toesock - this ou clue isn't helping me...
of course...he really is pretty!!
it uses the ea6/21
*gives big cheesy grin* Pretty boy extraordinaire :D Plastered all over my walls (and, er, ceiling). As well as a 'tasteful' poster of Kyo in a straight jacket, coughing up blood.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! i was thinking made more money than you did before - i see now.
so, nobody has et6?
missing one Q....the second (i think) qu5/16 anyone?
you've been asking for clues for what feels like an et now
hurshy Just got that one myself a sea bird in the middle of two e's
oh dear, baggo - i was thinking that and tried it ending with other vowels - guess i thought i had tried that one but hadn't!! argh.
et6/18 - archaic way of saying 'for ever' or 'endlessly'.
qu5/16 (the 1st one) - a bit like that mushroom mixture used in veggie 'meats' but with a different 2nd letter.
* sorry. Diff. 3rd letter! Real definition is 'a primitive hand-turned grain mill'.
thanks so much jacula!!!
thanks, et helpers
Here's my Missing List: se5/12 , se6/21, se5/10(1st one), se7/40. de5/12 (last one). co6/30(3rd one), co6/24(3rd one).
co 6/30 flirt
co 6/24 sounds like jacques _______, but remove a couple of letters
de 5/12 prevent
can you help me with fe8?
Got the flirt now, thanks, Hurshy. I wouldn't have spelled it that way!
neither would i, jacula! :)
co 6/24 (it's the END that's like jacques...)
* the stealth babbler zooms in and takes all of hurshy's clues and zooms out*
fe8/55 - rhymes with ra8/40. No definition as such but sounds like some long, thin animals related to stoats/polecats.
i do as many as i can myself, then get the babbanon list and go abc. since i'm on the f's, i can help with all the ones before that...
Got the word like the French chap, thanks. I must have written it in the wrong place on my list. I seems to be the last (4th) co6/24 I'm missing.:-(
well THAT one is the french word for listen, with the first letter cut off.
I GOT IT! Thank you soooo much! ou 9/66 is complete!
as you may have figured by now, i haven't got ra8.
hahaha...does anyone speak Engrish? I need to know what "I believe what you say Sundays, I'll be with wow" means!
but if you could tell me, say, the 5th letter of ra8, then i might be golden.
miyavi - it doesn't really mean anything...
hahaha..."her face was shiny wiz happy, I'll be with wow"...
Hi again you guys :) Sorry got dragged away by the kids. Hope you`re all ok, i`m not brilliant today, I feel like i`ve taken a step back. Must go to Doc`s in the morning for more tablets.
I think it's just really bad English, Hurshy. A Japanese band singing in english...it really shouldn't be this amusing.
hurshy if you have the fe8 just replace the first two letters for the ra8
ra8 - things you don't see many of. An extension of an ra4/4 meaning similar. I'm off to do dinner now. Thanks for your help.
Hugs, Lotti! (((((lotti)))))))
:)
Aw, sorry to hear that sis! (((x))) You need to take it easy.....and get stronger drugs!
lotti sorry to hear that ....get stronger drugs!!!
I can lend you some of my drugs, Lotti...they're VERY strong...
..and more back rubs ..
now we're cookin'!
pass the fish, btw - i feel dumb about ra8.
Thanks Deutsch :) I thought about you today. In Ikea stores here they have some great zebra prints.
miyavi - yeah, figures.
Lotti! Yes, definitely stronger drugs! I need you! You're great fun to have about!
*narrows eyes* and what is THAT supposed to mean, Dachef?!
Finally...I'm here. Turns out there were a few things I needed to take care of this morning after all. Good morning all. How many words today?
288
***jumps up and down excitedly...as there is trouble brewing between dachef and miyavi*** 8-/
Hi tban! 288 today :)
Lotti, that is so cool. someone across the pond thought of me. Well, someone is sending you strong vibes and happy thoughts!
Cheers guys, i`m on co-codamol and diclafenac sodium. Anyone got any good requests for my GP. I don`t want him to laugh in my face when I ask for them!!!! Torgone......a little lower and slightly to the left ;)
that's a good number...better get down to business. thanks
Miyavi - we all spend far too much time here, we all seem to have the wrongest sense of humour in the world. We all need therapy and very strong drugs. Oh, hold on, thats just me again isnt it?
sorry lotti...not up yet on adult meds :-( wish i could help, and lets just say by the time i figure them out, hope your pain is all gone...:-)
Lotti, Wow! Those drugs would score a lot of points in babble. Not too low, Torgone. Well, ok go ahead, she's having a rough go.

Ah, when I come down I'll be so mad at you, Baggo, but for now a song has made me madly happy. I think it must be the lyrics..."be away rocking in sundays, I'll be with wow..." hehehe...Engrish
Hello again, fellow babblerse... It's 9:10am here - I'm hoping that a fresh (and rested) look wil produce a few more words.

Dachef, you want the banana back? I'm not sure if it's the ~magic~ powder, but your banana is giving me a funny look
you know my mind just went straight to the gutter!!!
miy - yes, he does that around people he doesnt know very well. Give him a biscuit and he'll be your friend for life.
Ah Dachef, I luv ya !! :) Thanks!!!! No matter what they're all saying about your banana ;)
*feeds biscuit to Dachef's banana*
Thanks Dachef. I've been looking for that te 8! x

dachef, I got a te7 from your clue but the 8 eludes me still :(
I'd like a bone, if there's one going...

"I believe was rocking in sundays..."

baggo, I live in hope :)
okay, that's it. I need a cold shower. *thinks of Anj in leather*
dachef, I don't know if I am distracted by the banana but thanks for the chunk of clues....now if I can only figure em out
Man, I knew I shouldn't have sent you the song. (Stop taunting me with the Tara icon, or else I will be forced to kill you =) ) Sorry people, you'll have to put up with her singing for a while...

Hi all, was hoping for a short one but no such luck huh
Stillcrazy you go girl!!!!
Uh...be awake greeness run away? what?
Hi Schroeder...surely you jest!
ty lotti
Just call it wishful thinking....work has been cutting into my babble time way too much lately
these re's are like quicksand. anybody have a clue for the first 6/18?
The first re 6/18 I have would be what birds do every spring.
just think....if there were a shorter list, we might actually get to have a life too!
hmm...birds...it's supposed to come between a 4/7 and a 4/4 - is that where you have it?
Yes - that's where it is on my list.
re 6/18.... the re and add the thing birds put their eggs into
ah - fish please. i was thinking of birds singing.
But crazy what kind of life would that be!!!!Don't think I would know what to do if I wasn't trying to shove my lunch in my mouth and babble at the same time....
what we do with the SAT's or LSAT's if we don't do well the first ten times
I'll be with wow...
LOL Schroeder!!! Been there all too many years but now it cuts into my maul and shopping outlet time
I now find myself planning my day on how long the babble list is (sighs)
Can you give me the link to get the list? My brain doesn't want to remember today. Thank You All Very Much
Oh crazy I envy you!! My nearest mall is 1 1/2 hours away....That is the only part I miss about living in the city
Meisa..just click onto Babblers Anonymous under Friends of Babble on the right
I would have serious withdrawal problems if I weren't close to lots of shopping choices! You poor baby!!!!
Duh!!! Are you telling me that has been there the whole time. Maybe it's time to get my glasses checked. Thank You
LOL...I did the same thing when I first came.
can anybody plz give me some clues for 5 or more letters????
turnip, scroll through the chat and look for clues. Jump down and show all messages
look for this one, turnip ra8/40 - things which are not found very often.
thanks, though im not very good at this, im on here because its my english homework
anyone with a hint for se7/40?
turnip, that's not the first time i've heard that. this is really homework? man, i wish i were in school.
Se 7/40 - Following in order of time. Usually preceded by sub.
se 7/40 seems like it has italian roots. and sort of sounds like a pepperidge farm cookie (loosely)
Turnip is your tutor Miss Linton by any chance?
haz, you're so technical!
We never had homework like this when I was in school....(I guess we didn't have computers either). Did I just say that out loud!!!!
not that there's anything wrong with that. :)
wow Haz...ty got it from that clue!!!!
Hurshy - is that a compliment or a complaint?!
haz...thank you so much!!
hey there scouts Mom, you find my keys last night?
We had computers, but they were TRS-80s from Radio Shack and you could only work in BASIC. Okay, that's the geekiest thing I've ever said in my life, I think.
neither. really. just an affectionate observation.
stillcrazy, you still here!! I'm just popping in to print out the board so I can work on it at work today I'm finally getting smart so I don't have too mad a dash to finish later
Crazy mtn...told you this morning I haven't looked. Went to goth night at full moon last nite...felt like a throwback.
When I was at school, the most technical equipment available was a slide rule for maths, and it was only the clever people who got to use them....
LOL hey there Grey Woulf! I did sleep in between but am back to try to finish this off.
i'm a dope, anyway. my hint was for 7/28, not 7/40.
Ok everyone. Raise your hand if your learned on a manual typewriter and know how to use a slide rule. (I took physics with a slide rule LOL)
*raises hand* I'm a woman of many talents.
so, haz, now that my mistake has been outed - you see what happened. i was surprised that anyone would know - or expect someone else to know - the definition of 7/28 - a much weirder word than 7/40.
I got extra credit in physical chemistry to learn how to use a slide rule! I taught my typing teacher how to use the word processors (not computers) we had in high school
You're not a dope, hurshy. I've done it. BTW, got a clue for the si 5 12?
i have bin on this for about half an hour and i have 10 words :'( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what the heck is a pepperidge farm cookie???
I learned on a manual typewriter but thought a slide rule was only used in baseball
You mean they don't use the abacus anymore?
lmao
Sorry--pepperidge farm is a brand of food.
I'll have to go and look for that se 7/28....
deutsch - just past tense of the prev word. :)
I didn't use a slide rule, tho my dad showed me how But I did type my papers on a manual nonelectric typewriter
*jumps up and down, hand raised* I also know how to use an abacus! for no good reason.
LOL Schroeder
I'm still using my fingers Schroeder!
abacus is quicker than paper, but the slide rule rocks!
Hurshy, THANKS! I had to blind type it as I still can't see it on the grid! lol
silly deutsch. go down left after the middle and you'll see it.
se7/28 clue....has me completely stumped. i don't think i'm up to speed on my cookies! :(
well, se7/28 also sounds (again loosely) kind of like a man-eating fish.
mtn! I have a new website for you to see...it's about recipes for engineers. remind me later and i'll email it to you.
You mean I can go that way? I seem to get stuck going in one direction. Next time, I'll take your hand. LOL
So long folks, off to the mindless drudgery of making glasses catch you later stillcarzy, schroeder, mtn and everyone else *hugs for those who want them* TTFN
Thanks for the hug, Grey! later days!
any clues for te 6/21?
babye for now Grey Woulf don't work too hard!
te 6/21 past tense of eye fluid
te 6 21 past tense of te 4 4
sorry, i meant the OTHER te 6/21.
hurshy, it's a shipworm, but it kinda looks like swirling wind
recipes for engineers??!! you mean - stuff even my husband could cook?
THANKS, niamh. shipworm, eh? weird. i got it, though.
MISS LINTON= grrrrrrr ! i now have to find 20words with 5 letters! It took me ages with just 4
i know! i have found 10. i cant find anymore!!! well i got the tv on and its kinda distracting me
I've learned from babble that the english language is weirder than I thought!! before today, I didn't know there was such thing as a shipworm ;~)
atalante: it's cookingforengineers.com
whats ra something thats hardly ever found?
hey people from MISS LINTON's class, try plural forms and past tense of what you already have!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I think Ms. Linton's pretty cool.
turnip if its not common then it is ra**, expand on that
There's an ELEVEN today?!?!??! wow
ty ScoutsMom!
I like Miss Linton she`s cool....."and probably watching over you"!!! Have you tried the Qu`s girls there are some fairly obvious ones there!
you'll like the site...but don't go there until you've finished your babble and eaten your vegetables, young lady. I like the flowchart recipes.
i got quoted. tho u lot never say the words, i hope im not breaking any rules???
turnip, please don't type words in the chat.
isnt that what everyone else is doing?
that stupid "qu" is driving me nuts!! why do they have to put a "q" in here??
everyone tries to give clues, sometimes obvious ones, but we don't put the words in...
turnip don't forget the plural of that word, also, your qu5 is to find 20 5 letter + words today
turnip, if you put the answers in the chat, it's no fun for us to find them. the word you just used...you should just say qu6/30.
im sorry. i dont really understand the number thingys. i mean miss told us what they mean, but they never help me
I love that site! I always write recipes down like chemical formulae anyway!
I use the point values when I'm stuck trying to find a word, using the numbers is very revealing!
turnip, the number things tell you first how many letters, and then how many points the word is worth. the points help us tell the difference between some words of the same length.
turnip, don't worry about the points part, you found a 6 letter word starting with q, just tell us qu6 or q6
Turnip that qu word can end in 3 different letters. Try changing your last letter for adifferent one.
ok. thanks
turnip who r u? i have 1 5 letter 1 :( 19 more to go...
and hey, all - I'M DONE!!! and it only took me about 4 hours. so, clue requests?
you're doing fine, turnip.
good day all
Way to go Hurshy!
I HAVE 1 5 LETTER WORD... how amazing :( 19 left :( grrr 30 4 letter words would have been easy
congrats hurshy! how about a list of "qu"? i am missing 2 and it's driving me crazy! i think i entered the same word 7 times! :op
Hurshy I still can't find the se7/28 - any other clues?
hi there evanonut

i'm with kristin...i'm blind to the se7/28
did anyone notice that turnip is speaking in tongues all of a sudden?
ill give u a clue; begins with "S" and goes neenawneenawneenaw!!!!
turnip must be religious, looks like my monkey typing
Hum, do you think hurshy regrets asking if we need clues??? LOL
i HATE the advert for clover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
the dancing flower in assembly was funny!!!
wtf dyu mean by i must be religious?
mtn, check your email.
whoa, stepped out for a sec and lots of clue requests. here goes... the qu list qu 7/ 40 qu 5/ 16 qu 5/ 16 qu 4/ 8 qu 5/ 18 qu 5/ 16 qu 5/ 16 qu 6/ 30 qu 6/ 27 qu 6/ 27
speaking in tongues dear child
i agree w/ u there kristen!
nvm! ty bunches hurshy!!! :o)
se 7/28 starts like a knife with a non-straight blade, and ends with opposite of yes.
the 11 is related to the en9, which fills in the following blank: gastro-____________
the last two to's use a letter that has been the subject of some complaint in the chat.
right... speaking of religion! the other week in rs sum ppl came in and were talking about forgiveness and all that crap and drew a diagram saying god is life and if you dont forgive you are turning your back on god which means death. i put my hand up and asked "what if you dont believe in god? does that make u dead?" she look at me like i was a frickin satanist!!!! so i dont belive in god im alive arent i?!!
I'm back for more!
WOOOHOOOO finished the se's! I think i'll go and celebrate with a cookie
Hi TSM!
well turnip, i don't think it'd be good to open up religious debate, better to stick with safe topics.
thank you hurshy and Ouwachita, I didn't get the two letter combo clue until hurshy's clue, then the light bulb went off!! I think I need the fish!
and for everyone who doesn't know, you can get a list of statistics about the puzzle by going to the babblers anonymous link on the right, under general, first post. (i sound like an old hand at this already).
* tosses fresh walley to niamph *
niamh, here's a lovely turbot...
niamh - you're being "schooled"!
*dances the jig of happiness* finally got the two 9s and the 11!
evanonut ur scary
good thing I like seafood hun?
have to to babble!
how did the fish motif originate, anyway?
fish was before my time.
I'm not sure, but it's fun!!
I read someones profile that said he started it, but I don't remember who it was and it didn't say why it started.
well, if anyone ever finds out for sure, let me know.
will do hurshy!
ou9/66?
past tense of ou7, which is: to make more money than someone else
Renny you got the se7???
excellent clue hurshy
didn't you kristin? i gave a third clue at 12:45
kristen...yep....hurshy's last clue final made the lightbulb go on! "se 7/28 starts like a knife with a non-straight blade, and ends with opposite of yes."
Ok call me an idiot my I think i've tried every combination of letters b/w the first part and the last part and not getting it. I even remember a previous clue about going up and left and still not working me. Brain freeze I guess.
kristin - the knife clue covers ALL 5 letters before the second part of the clue.
kristin - it's a kind of hot chili pepper
it is a chili pepper isn't it?? FINALLY got it - thanks guys
torgone! I see you're back to your old self again!
YAY Kristin!
LUNCHTIME!!!!!! And you all are talking FISH again.... *mamabear's favorite*
here's a really cool 5 letter word clue for you homeworkers: take the organ we all started out inside, and make it plural (remember, latin plurals are different!)
sorry mamabear, I needed the fish... I'm done with it now, you want it?
any hints on QU 7/40? Please and thanks :)
qu 7/40 - a person who asks
Mamabear, I loved dancing with you yesterday! cute icon yesterday and today!
Would you like some tarter sauce to go with your lunch mama?
Thanks Deutsch - but this icon is more how I feel today!!!!! Schroeder - tartar sauce would be lovely. thanks.
and the person who asks, btw, is not related to the word question, but another word instead
Deutsch - did the rest of your herd run away???? You are down to a solo horsie in stripey pajamas
*pass the tarter to mama* have a nice lunch!!!
lol mama. We all feel that way sometimes!
Thanks! I only get a half hour for lunch - and have to cram eating, babbling & chatting all in there!! What a challenge!!!
It was odd, Mama. The more I looked at my icon, the more it seemed to look like something else. so I had to change. LOL
gotta go teach calculus in a moment - last call for clue requests...
hurshy, how bout a clue on how to do calculus? ;~D
hurshy don't forget your slide rule and abacus!!! Ty for your help
Calculus?!
well, one that i saw on a t-shirt is: never drink and derive: alcohol and calculus don't mix.
that's cute... I took calculus and physics at a technical colledge... talk about crash course, and I have no idea how I got an A in the class
hmm...i'm after the slide rule generation - my mom always used to talk about them though. however, i did have a TI-81 in high school, which now seems like it can hardly do anything!
i guess the homework crowd must have left?
apart from me, but I'm here every day anyway
ok, how bout a real clue... the se 5/10 and the se 7/40 right after it Please
the se5/10 is related to the prev se4. the se7/40 is about things coming in a certain order.
awesome, thanks hurshy!
got 'em, niamh?
Hi, everyone - I just dropped in for a quick lunchtime bit of babbling. Is it just me, or have many of today's words shown up in the past couple of days?
Miyavi_fan, this is your homework?

i dunno. im in year 9
hurshy - don't we need an m for that clue?
ive finished now anyway. i got 20 words thats all we had to find

re7/40 is when you ask someone to do something, you make a re***** the re6/18 right before it isn't related - it's the plural of the re5/10 above it: what you pay your landlord + a vowel

There wasn't a match on on mine!!!!!!!!!
hi Deutsch
ANYONE- Why aren't my points or name showing up in the player rankings?
Any hints on the qu 7?
Crys - How long have you been playing?
CrysAnnMarie, you have to have done at least (I think) 3 puzzles before it shows up.

LOL Torgone: I was just talking about the picture being bigger than just the icon size...(sure)
when was that bbnaz
OK, looks like the winged stud is up (on my site, ladies, on my SITE)... have at him.
right on Christa.......big jump for you today!
bbnaz CATHB and I were both brought up in Mumbles - the world gets smaller every day
may of 04.......
Oh yeah, I added another one that was posted over at the democratic underground forum. I thought Halloween was over???
Mumbles? What is the origin of that name, snowy, Cathb?
it was a lovely time and I enjoyed Wales. Although I am as native American as you can get (over 13 generations), the nearest immigrant relative came from Wales in the 1870s
any clues on the qu words?
if i told you then you would have to "say what i say" on it
dylan, qu 7 40 one who asks
Deutsch - I am not sure of the origin of the word Mumbles
Hi All, BBNAZ are you in the Old Pueblo?
Still, it's an interesting name
nope, but went to university there and occasionally return to ride show jumpers at the fairgrounds......i live in the over populated valley of the sun
deutsch i can't make that work.........
Deutsch I think its to do with the name of some rocks???? Part of Mumbles is known as Oystermouth as there were oyster beds there. Darleen -have checked out wingboy - how come Hilary and Camilla get to sit on top of him. Typical really tho - thinking about it!!LOL
Your qu5/16 is to find your qu5/16 of "qu" words, which is 10, but don't qu5/16 me on that.
bbnaz, I thought I saw your license plate around town here.
lol sure could use a message
nope mine says 5GEN AZ so that the rest of the family feels included
i have six of those rascally qu words.........
found this deutsch - the name, Mumbles, deriving from the French word mamelles, meaning 'breasts' and originally referring only to the two islets at the end of the promontory, but nowadays applying to the whole village. Really, the name should have a permanent exclamation mark – Mumbles!, like Westward Ho! As indeed should the Welsh word, Mwmbwl!
BB, the qu7 sort of rhymes with a j word that means one who knows the law well, like a judge
i thought it had something to do with mammaries
Wow, Cathb, thank you!
bbnaz where did you sing ?
as i have no hope of getting anywhere near this tonight i went "googling " instead "
Injury time..HUH! I lived in Swansea as a tiny, Terrace Rd, then Harlech Crescent. Went to Llwyn-y-Bryn school. Visited last year but hardly recognised anything
qu7: One who asks questions; an inquirer.
lismac snowy and i went to Glanmor
in a very small church on a skinny street on the side of a hill. There was a lovely Welsh ladies ensemble too and they were terrific! The best was the slightly pissed old man who told us that Americans didn't sing, they "screeched" whereas the Welsh were angelic! We agreed with him as nobody had ever thrown knickers at us whilst singing.............
snowyowl, almost missed your post. Well, I figured better that way than the other way 'round, eh?
qu7-- someone who inquires, asks questions
lizmac my grandmother lived in Harlech Crescent - no64!
wowza! would never have spelled it that way, but thanks!
HA...Glanmor, the old enemy!!
I feel a rode trip coming on. Wales or bust!
You had much nicer tunics than us tho lizmac
We lived in no.5...round about'60-64
does anyone have a clue for the first co 5 16?
We had TERRIBLE uniforms, especially if you were a bit(very) tubby
SEE a smaller and smaller world! Where are you in Scotland? I have family in Hamilton. My father was born and lived in Scotland until he was around 5
Have to go really this time..House is coming on, let's see who he saves from the carpark this week! 'night
omg snowy those navy tunics - i reckon mine would still be too long....what church do you reckon bbnaz sang in. lizmac..trying to think of a few people i knew that went to llwyn y bryn...Jane jenkins (had a younger sister Sue) perhaps
NO no lizmac ours had 4 HUGE box pleats down the front and no shaping, which was fine if you were a willowy wee thing. Once you sprouted a bosom the pleats ran amok!!! UGH usgusting as my granddaughters would say!
Sorry Deutsch can't help with that one yet..
we had to walk up the street as the coach couldn't navigate it. not far from the top and we looked back towards Swansea when we were on the front steps. I believe it was an Anglican church. Also sang at the Anglican church in Swansea.........
snow, you are cracking me up! LOL
a list of the d's please
Thanks, anyway Shroeder.
Deutsch I only have one co 5/16 so far. It goes with the 1st co 4/6. Add a consonant that you normally wouldn't put on the end to the end of the word. I didn't even know it was a word and there's no real definition.
Cath it must have been All Saints if it was an Anglican church as all the others are chapels. If so bbnaz it's our old church, parts of it are 12th century
very tiny with a balcony at the rear of the church....it was rather old but then coming from America most things you have are.................and ours (other than indian stuff) are not............
I was just thinking that snowy but it's not all that small and that's what threw me ps you forgot about the navy knickers with the tunic!!!
Clues for 7s and 8s please before I go and watch the two Davids slug it out on Question Time
Anyone have a clue for se 5/10 (not the stiff hair on an organism or the saint)?
definately not all saints then snowy
thought I would babble for a bit, but having all kinds of computer issues...hope all is well - I'll be back tomorrow!
posted earlier in the log ec8/45 - the return of sound plus to5/10 fe8/55 - an alternative spelling of a large rodent-type animal plus the garments men wear around their necks with a shirt. fi8/60 - next to the conflagration. ha8/50 - an alternative spelling of what you do with your ears, then present tense it. te8/40 - an all te***** vehicle, but with an alternative spelling of the middle word.
dylan - if you go to babblers anonymous - use the link at the end of friends of babble on the right of the page, all the stats are posted there for you - you can copy and paste them into notepad
Snowy, are you speaking of the one in Mumbles or Swansea? We were lucky enough to hear the chain ringing at the church in Swansea..........absolutely lovely.
Minski, had to take a phone call. Still don't have it, but I will conqure it! lol
Nevermind, thanks nimph.
bbnaz the church in Mumbles
Deutsch Do you have the CO 4/6?
The one in mumbles bbnaz - The church I was talking about has no balcony
i will look and see what the names were. We also sang at a catholic church in Swansea but it was more modern and in a seemingly more affluent area........they gave us a stuffed dragon to bring home.
not mine i hope bbnaz
Thanks but still can't work out ha8/50 and te8/40. Silver surfer/crazy grandmother clue needed please .............................
Minski, I have the co 4 6 that is a system of laws or such and the three co 5 14s that build from it. But there is a co 5 16 that comes before the co 5 14s. It is elusive! And thanks for helping
Missing a c6/30...already have the one meaning to discuss and the one with the q in it... Gracias...
alleyn, from earlier ha8 - stick a talking horse into the midst of your ha6
Deutsch the word you are looking for starts and ends with the same letter.
nope it was a lovely red one...........and became the coach mascot until we boarded the ferry in Portsmouth to go to frogland
Alleyn te8 think football te****** or rows of t******* houses and replace the c with an n
Minski, you are so cute, I want to pinch your little cheeks! Thanks!!! *mumbles* why don't I ever look down?
Slight problem! Ha6 is one of my missing words!!!!!!!!!!
Snowy Owl - great clue! Thanks. I do now have the Ha/6
Alleyn, take your ha 4 5, make it plural. Now drop a vowel after the first vowel. makes your ha 6
nevermind!
Alleyn 1 laboured clue coming up - I'm hopless at clues! swap the vowels in what you do with your ears add the talking horse and end the word with a vowel and a consonant that pluralises
hi all! fi8 is still eluding me despite the conflagration clue, could someone "dumb down" a clue for me ...and the give me the fish
Missing a c6/30...already have the one meaning to discuss and the one with the q in it... Also missing the co7/44... Gracias...
Snowy Owl! My shining star. All 8s, 9s and 11 done.
smaller think winter and sitting around the edge of the place Santa comes down in a few - too few! weeks

Goodnight Lola and Cathb..sweet dreams:)
it's me again - the intellectually challenged. I have tried everything for the en 11 and the ha 9 and just can't seem to get it. I tried to follow Haz's road map, and just couldn't get there. Help, please thanks
Anyone have a clue for co 6/30 (not the french jam or to bestow)?
222 and i've got to go....i hope to be back later when i finally get home if i'm not tired as all hell....good luck everyong else....

SnowyOwl thank you also.
yw joey... that ha you need, is it the ha 8? if so do you have the ha 2/21 that comes after it?
does anyone have a clue for the fi 4 8s? Being dense, I guess.
evening all :) does anyone have a clue for the se7/28 please ....
Niamh, Hi! *hands her a cup of hot chicken noodle*
that was supposed to be a 6/21
Not dense Deutsch, I am missing only those 2 F's also
oh thank you thank you deutsch... the deli was out of soup for my lunch... I really needed that!!
se 7 28 a type of hot pepper
Chessy - think about hot chili peppers
Shroeder we are in sync. did you ever get the co 5 16?
I'm missing en 6, en 9 and en 11. any clues? thanks.
Niamh No, my "h's" are sorely deficient.
Yes I did with all the extra help.
fi4/8 - coin containing minting error fi4/8 - plural, square bar used as support for topmast
deutsch-- the fi4/8; I don't get it either. I only see two possible fi4/8s and they don't work. I'm missing something.
ha 6/21 looks like a very funny way to spell rabbit... if you get that one, you can do the same drop the last letter + french 'the' thing to get the 8
fi8 - think dog
fi 4/8 common dog's name fi 4/8 change last letter of prev
have the dog. Also, two fs. #$!!
bingo!
we're playing BINGO????? COOL!!!!!
Thanks all. *mumbles* I know for a fact that other f wasn't there a minute ago.
chessy - if, like me, you hate spicy food and know nothing about chili peppers, you can try one of my clues. se 7/28 - looks italian, sounds a little like a pepperidge farm cookie. sounds a little like a man eating fish. alternatively, begin the word for a knife blade that isn't straight, and end it with the opposite of yes.
Helps when I start with the correct F!!! Ty everyone
Hey Schroeder - is that YOUR doggy?
can any1 give me a clue to the se 7-28 plz
hurshy, you are a star - been ploughing through google and chili recipes - got it straightaway from your clue - thanks:)
Yes mama, he is the new man in my life...such a little sweetie pie!!!
katiecat: look down 2 posts to hersheys clue
katiecat see hurshys clue below
joey do you still need a clue for the ha8?
schroeder: is that a mini dog or a rotti or doberman? Looks adorable:)
i do snowy
any clues on the qu 7/40? please
swap the vowels in what you do with your ears add the talking horse and end the word with a vowel and a consonant that pluralises
Speed - He is a mini dachshund only about 4 months old
mamabear--qu 7 = someone who asks
mama, qu7 one who asks, ( but don't go the obvious route)
thank you
what an awesome clue, snowy!!!!! especially the talking horse part!!!
ty snowy..I got it
mamabear-- was it you who said you used Excel for your word printout?
yes joelgee ....excel
snowy-- i couldn't believe it worked, first shot. I'll say it again. Enable enables words like this but not "fest". Pah! Chaos reigns and I don't have an umbrella!
That's what I thought. I just started using Excel instead of Word. Works much better. More thanks than for any clue!
yw - I pinched the talking horse bit from somebody else earlier on!
OK. Mamabear here is the qu 7 - asking why can't I find the qu 7????
joelgee - you can get it all to print on one page in Excel. That's why I like it...... and I use gridlines on it so it's nice and neat!!!
Exactly!
qu7-- somebody who inquires. the ending would be like a jur*** a pur*** an elit***
hey, Niamh, thanks for the help
Schroeder: I have one rotti (120#) one doberman/rotti mix (130#) I almost got a mini doberman at 9#'s cause he looked like the mini cousin to mine but could not afford it at the time:)
a tour***
I have 1 ret/18 to find. It's bugging me. I have the one which is re +t4/4. any help with the other?
snowy - actually had to work for a minute - got the ha 8, tyvm, but missing the ha 6. saw the rabbit clue, but that is beyond me..... sobs, I really do have at least a bit of a brain.
don't worry. got it!
joey ha6 take out 6th & 7th letters from your 8 - there it is ! ps it took me all day to get them!
Hello all again!! cant be bothered doing my work LOL who wants a glass of wine instead hahahah
im new, i think im doing well, then i look at my stats and there crap. this is stressful
I have been trying for over an hour to get back on this site. Anyone have a clue for se 7/28?
scrambled-- welcome to our world. This game is no yolk. You have to develop a hard shell not to get too scrambled. But once you get the hang, you'll get over easy.
The main thing is, don't be chicken!
people will let you poach clues.
i only named my self scrambled egg, cause my kids had it 4 tea, thanks 4 the support , ill stick with it
great egg gags , love it
munner 1st 4 letters are the same as the word for a knife that is for sawing such as a steak knife then a vowel and then the opposite of yes. How're you doing btw? someone was asking after you early on this afternonn
can anyone give a clue for the en11/i cannnot read all messages because when i go past the first 50 my computer freezes up.......i can't fine it in my dictionaries.....help, please?
Good for you. If everybody left after their first bad experience, this would be a very lonely place.
weird t hing just happened. Babble zapped out, I dropped my mouse, hit my head trying to pick it up. Then left button didn't work. Tried to be logical in fixing it. Got angry and banged it back to working. I'm scared...
joelgee - LOL - you're a good egg!!!!
Scrambled - relax - it'll end sunny side up
no turning back now scrambled egg! your hooked!
how's your head?
speedfreak - I have always had big dogs in the past, decided to go small this time, he's only 6.6# now. Not much help against the wild animals in my yard but will take out any beetle he can see!!!
im gonna have a smashing time
My head's fine, Joel. Thanks for asking.
Deutsch - it's time for a deep breath, a coffee and a good scream I think!!!
Apparently your 'puter is working. Just do like I do. Pretend nothing happened--'til it happens again.
I got the qu, I got the qu...... drinks all around!!!!!!! and thanks for the help......
Snowy, may I have t g and t instead of coffee? And I did make some odd and rather loud noises! lol
Whos on Coffee duties today? i make a mean Cappa... LOL
I think I was more alarmed by the fact I couldn't babble!
well done Mama! i finally got it too! hahaha
I'm trying to say Gin and tonic must still be frazzled!

Deutsch it took me ages to get bake onto Babbles site - kept saying server couldnt be found... :o(
Deutsch did you eat yet?!!!!!!!!!!
snowyowl - in and out twice a day???? you lucky girl!!!!
Yes, same here, Nordina. The grid has seemed a little slow to enter words today, too.
boasting?
Ah. 'tis a bawdy bunch o' babblers.
oh and i thought the slowness was due to the fact im hopeless at this game hahahaha
Snowy, down on bended knee to you. thanks a bunch. joey
Some of us got it MAMA some of us haven't LOL I meant relating to the sea!!! May I add - its the mind it goes into and not the mouth it comes out of - or is that just making things worse!!!!!
Snowy, It's almost dinner time here. someone is very kindly bring pizza home. Perhaps a wee cocktail while I wait?
wait a second, for it to be slow to enter the word - i first have to type a valid word OOPS!!! hahahaha
nordina, snowy, both of you I'm LOL!
Snowy - that sounds - interesting hahaha
Go ahead then Deutsch I can't get the hang of these time differences at all! Nordina - if you could pop a brandy in that coffee I'll have one please!
Snowy, I believe I'm five hours behind you. That's why I'm always trying to catch up! hehe
Sweet - double shot cappa coming up!! *passes cappa over to Snowy*
I hate to burst your babble - i mean bubble guys (hahah) but you are both well behind me (only in time difference mind u) hahaha
Ty Nordina just what I need.

Just got it!

oh, a clue. to stray from the proper path er 6
scrambled we chat all the time about ANYthing! lol
joelgee - means eternal
en 6 same as en 5 add a vowel
dromano - it took me ages to get my head round it - it looks greek. 1. en -go into eg aroom 2.add a single letter * go, you go, he goes. 3. add your ti5/12 to do with the sea
deutsch-- that's all it took. Merci.
Joelgee, merci buckets to you too lol

en building on en5/10 add and i and think of what you rises and falls at the beach
My original last name was Schmeisser, like the gun. but it was Americanized around 1710. Deutsch is a college nickname. Guess what language I took! hehe
where r u then?
as u al know - im dumb - what does the he goes u goes etc clue mean PLEASE its friday, my brain has gone to sleep -wait, dont i have to have a brain for that to happen? hhmmmm hahahaha
Snowy - where are you?
I'm in baltimore, Maryland. Or as the natives here say, Bawler, Merlin, hon! Originally from Indiana.
my god Snowy!!! does that mean we are a superior country hahahahaha
Nordina, what are you looking for?
what do u look like
Please help with a hint for my last co's: co 6/30 and co 7/44. I think they are together on the list. I have searched a to z and word lists. Found "conred" but Babble won't accept it.
the long en word hahahaha
Scambled - the most consistent thing about this site is that it isn't! We have discussed every topic under the sun and then some! We also have a lot of parties and a few threatened weddings and sometimes we find words in the grid!
scrambled, I'm black and white with cute little ears with a tuft of hair between them.
munner - a way to cook meat - you cook it in fat - usually done with duck
I'm in South Wales UK joey and you?
I was proposed to and left at the altar, just this morning. Story of my life.
ummm speaking for myself - i think i talk more than i look hahahah but its lots of fun!!!
snowyowl. what do u mean weddings?
*shakes head* tis true. Poor Joelgee left at the altar, or was it alter?
haha Snowy - Poor Joelgee - u wanna cuddle ;O)
no way , thats bad
Sure. First they wanna cuddle. Then they leave you at the altar.
It's really hard to explain scrambled but virtual life on this site sometimes is more real than real life !! the more you play the more you'll see!!! God I sound like Yoda!!!! - I'm about the same height but fatter and less wrinkled
Snowyowl -that is so neat - I am sitting at work in Fort Worth Texas........ that is why there are gaps. I try to get in and out during the day. My home computer lets me play, but I have to refresh almost after every word.
snowyowl , im in bristol uk, not far eh
Deutsch-- Let it go already. You say alter. I say altar. Alter. Alter. Let's call the whole thing off.
kristin, as a transplanted southerner for the last 27 years, I am into fried foods, but never eaten or cooked duck.
*hands box of chocoloate to Joelgee* take as many as you want, hon.
Please all u beautiful people - can u give me a hint obvious enough for someone who is intellectually challenged on the looooong en word PLEASE!!! i make good rum and Cokes....
munner - try 3 letter word c** trick -try to fool some one add what you are when you work out
Here are two en*** + a personal pronoun + you wash out w/the ti*** en11 = bad buggies that make salmonella (at least one type)...
hahahaha Joelgee - who was it this morning? i though u wud have learnt by now hahaha
Munner I'm a little ole southern girl from Tennessee, but do have a culinary degree - ok two words (1) some one who tricks people (2) fi4/7 - now remove last letter for the 6 letter
A gentleman doesn't get jilted and tell.
thanku Deutsch!!!! u are an Angel!
I, however, am no gentleman. 'twas Jera, the minx, who flung herself at me and then kept going.
joelgee, r u a gentleman
You got it from those clues?
I thought it was baggo.
No but i have decided i am too thick to keep trying and u are an angel for trying to help LOL
Pretty sure it was Jera, but who can keep count?
scrambled - there are a few people from Bristol playing here. As I said earlier its a small world.
Nordina, do you have the en 5 10. When you find it come back.
Its happened a few times now - so he mixes them up LOL
joelgee , bit of a ladys man eh
Thanks kristin and snowyowl. Finally got it.
The one - what you do when you walk into a room? i have that one
As usual, I came late to the party and never quite knew what was going on. hehe
Deutsch i never know whats going on - but its always fun finding out hahahaha
nordina, add the third vowel add that thing that is high and low on the water. Plural
snowyowl , yeah it is
Joelgee!!!!LOL.
yw Munner
Dachef was going to roast a vulture. I'll never be able to look at a vulture in quite the same way again.
vultures will always remind me of Jera now
Joelgee - its time to move on or you'll end up covered in cobwebs like Miss Haversham!!! There are plenty more fish in the sea! Tho not it seems in this grid - which is unusual as there is normally one somewhere. Do I sound as manic as I feel???
is it just me or is anyone else having trouble figuring out the 11 letter word?
GOT IT!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!! THANK U THANK U THANK U THANK U Deutsch
ha! miss haversham
but what on earth does it mean hahahahahaha
*grabs Nordina's hands and dances the jig of happiness*
The 11 letter word is in A2Z. That's how I found it combined with the hints given.
Kat have a look at Deutsch's clue it will get it for u i promise!!!
snowy-- you're right, of course. It'll be tough, but I'll have to move on. As soon as I finish today's %^&^$!in grid!
I'm sure Jera will be thrilled Joelgee - to be thought of as a vulture! Duck everybody!!!!!!!! Kristin perhaps we could fix you up with Dachef - the wedding breakfast would be great!
this puzzle is soooo long
kat, do you have the en 5 10 (I'm going to quit looking and just give this clue LOL)
snowy, i just happen to be recently divorced, might work!
Now, no twisting of words. Who here heard me compare Jera to a vulture. I'll just have the tender association fore'er more.
55 left, Robert. And You?
happy thursday !!! how is everyone tonight?
Breakfast - food actually thats what im missing - food hhhmmm should i interrupt my babbling to eat? hmmmmm

Hi Groovygranny. : ) Nice to meet you too.
rofl Joe im a princess yeah that's it
Have a good lunch nordina
some people copy the grid and use pen and paper whilst out and about.
evanonut, sorry to hear your hubby's in the hospital.
I tried that when it came back on lol
Evanout: I print off the grid in the morning and take it with me to work so I can work on the grid during meetings. It's the perfect crime..........
only thing joel is getting the access, but i bet i can bribe an employee to bring it up for me.
awwwwww evan im sorry to hear that
not yet deutch, i got one more week
Hi folks! Relatively new to this. What does it mean when your total score is expressed as "NaN" instead of the actual sum of your score? Thanks
I'm confused. Access?
it'll be good, but thanks, we just need to straighten the bugger out.
Ohrom I like that idea ...... by the way I like your proflie !
evano-- is this a serious thing? What up, if you want to spill. If not, understandable.
kardave - try refreshing your page
kardave, it means you need to refresh
Hello from the West! I could really use a clue to na5/10. I have the nostril. Anyone?
Hi Kar nice to meet you too .........im new too about 3 weeks in .... totally addicted Hey Minski ! how are you ??

Aw geez. One day at a time, I guess. Fingers crossed, bt nw cnt tp

Thanks, Snowyowl and Deutsch.
prayers work wonders and don't forget when you pray if you don't think he's listening , well it's because it's in you to work it out and he'll watch over you and see you through ....
that's why i complain about 12 hour days, need the dang money
hubby just gave me a strange look .......
evanonut Sending massive good vibes! be sure to check in next week, if you have time and are inclined. Your friends will want to know how you both are doing.
Hello All! I'm doing well. Baby had her flu shot today which was a bit traumatic, but we found out she gained a pound and grew 3/4 of an inch in a month. Time to put her to bed so I'll be back later. TTFN It's late for all you on the other side of the pond so if I don't see you again tonight. Good NIght and have a wonderful tomorrow.
i'll be here next week, probably gone after, unless i borrow my mom in laws laptop and find a hook up!
87 left to go and I'm packing it in. Can't sit in this chair anymore. Can't look at a computer screen anymore. May be back later, so later maybe.
Evan we're all here for you , if you ever need anything just holler at me ! my best friend has cancer too and i've gotten alot of info for her and with her ...
later then joel
Later, Joelgee!
if someones willing to take the time to give me a 1st and 2nd letter list for all the words or atleast most of them, i got a really easy clue for that 11 letter word that doesnt require using your brain
Bye Joel.......... go rest !
Evanout: I live in New York and on my block, I think we have every major and minor religion on the planet represented. I never had a religion growing up so I ended up trying the religions of my friends. I like pieces of all of them. I guess it is "new-age" to be a buddist/jew/agnostic/catholic. My catholic friends light candles for people when they want them to be well.
Time to head home, wil check in later tonight.... evanonut I wish your husband well, make sure to take care of yourself also...
Ty for your company joelgee. I 'll be going soon too, only got 31/2 hrs sleep last night!
drnks, look to the right. click on babblers annon click on general click on stats go down to the second letter listing

Evanout: I agree. How true..... Groovygranny: I knew I liked you right away. : )
Ohrom , Im orginally from NY too .. born in Queens , lived on LI, now im in Florida

I am trying to learn spanish so that life in New York is easier but I only get laughs when I try to speak it. : )
ohro, you'll find everyone in here extremely likable
well Ohrom hubby is from albuquerque and spanish but he speaks almost no spanish .. mostly in florida it's puerto rican spanish but thats good !!! thats whats spoken here
Yeah: I love my new friends in babble. It is my cool little world where I go to escape from everything. We talk/we laugh/we play quasi-scrabble games. I always like coming here.
Ohrom you just keep trying and speaking it , the more you do the easier it will be for you .. I do ok now ..
I can sing the hyms in spanish lol and understand the pastor .......
evanonut We'll add you and your husband to our prayers, as well. All the best.
hmm, i took french back in school
i'll second that! I would never go into a chat room but love this site. There is so much fun and friendship. Was without the computer for 5 days and really missed my babbling friends.
Ohrom you know whats good to help you learn .. watch telemundo ...... watch 100 dijernos mexicanos . thats the family feud or sabado gigante
tx kardave, we'd be needing it
we missed you ,too, snowy!
if i knew English I think I'd be bi-lingual... that's how i feel playing this game some days!!! :)
the nice thing in here, is the extremely crass persons rarely come and never stay.
Ty Deutsch - were the postings all less than a paragraph then!
rofl Tbug !!! I hear you there
I grew up speaking broken Czech and broken english. I sometimes watch mexican soap operas because they are like 10X as melodramatic as an american soap opera. Too much fun.. I like French too. It is very beautiful to be but I only had a semester of it.
Evan i was only crass when I had pms last week !!! JUST KIDDING
you could spend hours trying to work some of these words into conversation!
ohro, tried to get my grandmother to teach me czech, but she never bothered.
Ohrom that is soo cool ... Im Polish and Italian ... my step grandma speaks fluent polish
yes, nice peops in here... you always feel welcome to chat if ya wanna, or if not thats ok too - great game - been here maybe three weeks now :)
thanx for letting me in on the babble an, still kind of new and i've been playing without it up till now. no wonder i havent finished a puzzle yet. as for the 11 letter clue. deutsch, it actually started w/ your salmonella clue. i couldnt get it from that so i just looked up salmonella in the online encyclopedia, is that cheating?
everyone is soo nice here ... I've only been here 3 weeks or so and I feel right at home . Im soo glad I found you all !
Even: my name in czech means "something that sparkles so brightly that you can't look away from it". File that info under "trivia". : )
drnks, any way you can get the word is legal! snowy, the chat wasn't the same with out you.
wow that's cool ! I found out I was Polish 8 yrs ago when I reunited with my birthmom
cool ohro, i know how to say good, grandma and that's about it
I had Italian grandparents who only argued in Italian and never taught any of the children the language! My sister took an italian degree tho so one of us got to speak it.
I always thought I was german lol but nope Polish
GG: when I listen to Polish, it sounds like "pig-latin" for czech people. i.e. all the words are basically there but they are sometimes in the wrong order or written with an extra 7 or 8 j's and w's. : )
alls i know is i'm alot of irish and german - grandparents were 100 % of each... and i like beer. :)
well my birthdad was 100% Italian and and my adopted dad is 100 % Italian so my grandparents spoken english and italian ...... my adopted dad speaks Italian
Even: I thought I was OK at it until I went into the Bohemian Beer Garden in Queens, NY. I ordered in Czech and they started laughing and had me repeat what I said to other waiters. ahahah It was too funny.
ah well, keep up with it if you can, its a dying language isn't it?
Tbug: with irish and german genetics, you didn't have a chance at being sober. hahaha just kidding. : ) I like beer too. It is one of my life's passions.
LOL Ohrom ... yeah it's truly an interesting language ! know I just want to try Polish foods , learn more about my culture
38 to go, but someone will be arriving soon with pizza...
Ohrom ...... my mom lives in Ozone Park and I was born at Elmhurst Hospital
My dad used to say 'I'm a Scottish born, Italian blooded Welshman.! Sort of sums us up except theres Swedish and english blood on my mums side of the family. I have no welsh blood at all, but feel very welsh!
wooo hooo!!! I'm finally done!! anyone need any clues before I leave?

an 6 21 help please
fi 8 has to do with a very hot place that people usually sit to roast marshmellos (sp?)
Niamh- thanks for asking. Could you give me a clue to na 5/10 (I have the nostril) and ne 4/4, the last one? I would really appreciate your help.
fi 8 .... sometimes people have a fi****** chat
niamh now THAT is my kind of clue - thanks and congrats on finishing!

Kimm, do you have the ha 6?

Is there a camera in here? How did you know that? ahhah LOL. JK. I can't drink until I am up to at least 100 words. : )
sorry... kristin, do you have the ha 6?

ty for your concerns, babblers..Am going to revisit the surgeon on next Tuesday for some more tests..Personally, I think i must be fine!! Just tired.
well, if you say "les chats", for instance, that's "the cats", but if you say "des chats", it's "some cats".
alrighty looking at this monstrous list with 70 wrds left to find... i guess i need a clue for the co 5/16 if anyone happens to have one???
co 5/16 sounds a bit like a camera/film company
There are a few towns in my area named after it... like Des Moines, for example... what does that mean?
GG: Be proud of your polish heritage, my friend. I am usually the only one with sauerkraut at work. OK, I am always the only one with sauerkraut at work. : ) Kiebasa is good though. I could live off of perogi too.
Gosh Liana I didn't know you had ben in hospital but my computer was out of action last week. Hope you feel better soon. I'm going to love and leave you all nHw. Thankyou all for your help and your lovely company. hope to see you all tomorrow. Will post the soup before I go to bed. Sweet dreams all
ohro, pierogies are a staple, life is not worth living without them.
nite nite snowy
i think its kelbasa, and peirogi..or pierogie..I love kapusta..fried in butter, after its been boiled..
I love sauerkraut and spareribs!
Ok me again begging - co7/36 and co7/32 - then all my 7, 8, 9, and 11s are done
ok, I'm not trying to start a debate, just want to understand... so I look up french to english dictionaries on google and it is still telling me that it means 'of the'
scooter thats one of my favorites too, mom always made it for me :)
co 7/36 plural the co 6/24 above it
I put beer in mine. Yummy!!! I guess I'm hungry - almost dinner time.
Sweet dreams Snowy. See you tomorrow. Even: it is like we were separated at birth...... Lianakate: I don't normally say this but I think the best thing for you would be to work as much as possible. (I read what you do for a living in your profile page). : )
co 7/32 - enter a pie-eating co*****
how bout a co6/24 clue?
tbug I have a 6/24 but can't make it plural
Finally someone has called and is bringing pizza. going to make the cocktails! cya!
co 7/32 friendly battle (that's hard to give a clue without using the word)
Did someone say cocktails???
co 6/24 read an essay with someone to improve it
co 6/24 is two people fixing a paper or book

hi scootermom !

Scootermom: I have always believed that every dish is bettter with beer. : ) It goes well in everything. I am actually running out to the deli later because I am out of Pilsner Urquell. A girl can't have too much eastern european beer around the house....
what is kapusta???
Granny..CABBAGE...:)
mom did say when she comes to visit she'll show me how to make perogies and she'll bring me some kelibasa from the deli by her house

ohhhhh < duh > I've only known Im Polish for the past 8 yrs so i've got alot of catching up to do
is she from Michiigan or chicago, granny???..lots of Polacks there
pierogies time consuming, you'll want a badge for making them.
Lian from Queens NY
thats what she said ...... and to make sure you put them together securely or you'll have a whole pot of taters floating
ayup groov, don't want to leave any floaters ;-)
do people still need co 6/24 clues? there are 4 of them, so... two are reasonable words, two are weird. the reasonable ones come first, then there's the french word for listen minus the first letter. last, a word that sounds like jacques _________ , (it's the end that sounds like his name).
Lian I read what you said about your diabetes ... my hubby has been a diabetic since 92' and in 2002 he was put on Insulin after he had a heart attack at 41
Evan you are soo sweet ! I have faith that things will be fine for you and hubby !! good things happen to good people !
oops, said them in the wrong order. jacques is before listen. alternative clue for the last one if you don't know french: alter your first cu5/14
aw groovy, you're so darned likable! he'll be fine, just gotta get throught the treatment which is always worse than the disease.
I gotta go ...later!

de**** something quick you jot down...
was that the one you wanted Mary?
Nordina, I have that one. And I don't know anything about carnival rides other that the merry-go-round and ferris wheel.
yep - ferris wheel
precisely mary, now, focus on the ferris wheel, your word rhymes with it.
did u get it Mary?
i have 6 qu words - are there anymore?
Well, hooray, I finally got it. Hate it when you spend so much time on one word. Thanks to all.
There are a total of 10 Q words.

bbnaz - does my clue make sense - its how i got it explained to me after i tried to get it about 30 or so times LOL
aknitter - another word for estimate, in sales you have to meet a qu**** - can add various endings to these
the qu5/16 second one
bb - when you are on a journey you might be on a qu*** for something
that bright light you are seeing in the sky is the light going on over my qu head! TY

nordina's clue is the best for that one
try nordinas clue en***to walkin a room- 3rd vowel-these are high and low on the sea
21 - status qu* add a consonant for qu4
congrats bb!
i tried nordinas clue but seem to have something wrong
thanks kristin
21 the 7 is using the first qu5/16 - drop last letter and make it "the best"
Anyone have a clue for the 2nd to last co6/24? - the one that comes after the french coast.
ak - take an en5/10 (walk into a room, or go through a door) and add ti5/12 (the ocean has high and low ti****)
forgot the vowel in the middle kristin
oops ak - add a vowel in between
good evening all! I just read a clue that you all have all of the q's?????? Not me.... still need 2..... *heavy sigh*
whatcha need mama?
the qu 5/18 and a 6/27 - have the one that has 3 in the same family
cyber i only have 3 co6/24s - books, ducks and no idea definition
kristen --- i give up! i know i am slow but .... every time i type in those en clues i get the dreaded wrond word message UGH
ak try for the en and ti words first, they are singular and plural
Hello. Here for a short while. I finished the grid some hours ago and so can give clues. Who needs what? *Ducks as clues come flying from all directions.*
mama there are 4 in the same family - other is plural of your 4/8
i have typed that word at least 25 times (same spelling) it finally was accepted. TY -- bowing very low multiple times
Hi Jacula!!!! I just got home from work. Only have 81 words so far. don't even know where to begin!!! Need 2 qu's to complete that letter the 5/18 and a 6/27
good for you ak - never give up!
kristin - duhhh!!! thanks. now only need the qu 6/27
banging head against the wall
qu6 - past tense, plural, greater
kristen-couldnt figure out your clue for the qu 7/40 and no wonder, i dont have the first qu5/16 either
is your icon a cosmopolitan, Kristen???? Could go for one...... ooops... side tracked. past tense of which word?
kristin - I have 4 co 6/24's on my list: 1. covered 2. books 3.? 4. no definition I guess I'm looking for ducks!
qu5/18 - plural in the simplest way of the qu4/8 before it.
MamaBear ~ add a s to qu*** and you got your 27.
cyber it is a way to prepare meat, usually duck, where you cook it in fat - compound word also someone who tricks people + someone who exercises is ***
qu6/27 - there are two. One is the is the person doing qu5/16 and the other is more than one of qu5/16.
muchas grasias amigos!!!! my q's are history....
My 8.09 clue - the word 'pluralising' got cut out of it!
OOPS sorry Cyber that is a co6/30, not 24
I am looking for the last Re 6/21 and Re 6/27. Also an Si 5/10 (I have the seductive woman). Any hints would be appreciated.
Oh, this isn't so bad. I was expecting clues wanted to rain down on my head from all directiions. I'll have a sip of wine and relax then...
I am soooo far behind. I only found 124 during jury duty. :P
Jacula - I only have 91 words - don't even know where to begin to ask.... enjoy your wine!!!
re6/21 - to dwell in a place. re6/27 - what you might have to do with your flour if it was still lumpy the first time it went through the sieve.
dalmation5 - add an s to re 5/16 for re 6/27
Mamabear, I will enjoy my wine. But post some questions if you want to. As Chris Tarrant on 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' over here says, 'It's only easy if you know the answers!' I do know the answers. Lucky me, this time!
so.. I'm still looking for the co 6/24 - 2nd to last one that follows the french coast!
what kind of wine, jac?
back finally !! how are we all doing ??
hi gg!!! didn't even break 100 yet!! uuuuugggggghhhhh
Hello Ruff. Chardonnay, or any dry white wine is my preferred tipple, but, in the absence of that, I'm nicking my other half's Cabernet Sauvignon (red).
sounds good. I'm waiting for hubby to get home, so we can crack open a bottle. DOn't know what just yet.
co6/24 - type the word before it, then think of the French word for 'water' and take off the first letter. Voila!
Many heartfelt thanks Jacula - I've been trying to figure that one out since lunch!
If you can't get it from the clue I gave, then think of Jacques Co******, who filmed underwater, then remove the 's'.
Glad you got that, Cybernan.
Thanks for the help. I may ask for another clue or two when I figure out exactly what I am still missing. Your help is much appreciated.
Did I maybe miss it, or does someone have a clue for the co 6/30 and the co 6/24 just after it???
Hi everyone! Just got home from work and decided join my fellow Babble addicts in order to redeem an otherwise wasted day. Gorgeous days like this are absolutely wasted when one has to work in retail
co6/30 - a flirt (
hey grey
Hi ruff -- so how was your day?
hOW WEIRD! I was just in the middle of tping my message when Graywoulf posted and it posted mine before | was ready to post it!
snore...two days in jury duty and we haven't even chosen a foreman
Hey Grey Jac Mama Kristin Aknitter drkn !
Hey Ruff !
Hi GW!!!! It is a waste when you have to work in an office, too. But at least there are lots of windows!!!
Oh dear, it sounds like you are not having any fun at all, ruff
Hi Graywoulf! But, as I was typing. co6/30 - flirt (but not how you may expect to see it spelt or spelled). Think of the game The Queen of Hearts was playing in Alice in Wonderland and take out the 'r'.
Hi Ruff - bummer about the jury .. gonna be a long haul hi granny!!
Hey Mama how are you ??
Hey groovy!! HI MAMA (*hug*) - at least you have windows - I'm stuck in the mall all day
AH HA! Thank you Jacula!!!! :)
Hey there, Jacula Thanks for the clue too :)
Hey Grey ! nice to see you ... what exactly do you do in retail? I too did that for years !
The co6/24 just after that, I gave clues for to 'Mama' on the log not long ago, Scroll back.
Hi groovy g - had a day that was not worth getting up for.... and not going to finish this puzzle.... and I'm out of rum....
I know I'm not going to finish this one. In the mall you can peoplewatch.
co 6/24 after co 6/30 is similar to jacues ________ in its ending.
About the only good thing about work today was that I brought the grid with me and was able to find about 75 words, thus simplifying the evening
Jacula - great clue with the Queen of Hearts.. didn't get it with the "flirt" clue.
sounds like my day . Had alot to do and no ambition
Jacula sends rum over to Mama because it's in her cupboard for culinary purposes - no one in house actually drinks rum...
good idea grey.. our internet went out at 8 am & didn't come back on till 2 ish
is that like the marsala that I have...for cooking...
Thanks Jac!!! Let me go get a glass .... anyone care to join me?????
grey - that's how I came home with 100+ words
ty ty hurshy! all done with the c's!
groovy, ruff - I work for Lenscrafter's in the lab making the glasses so I don't even get to people watch, unless you count staring wistfully thru the lab window at the retail staff)
joining mama...whoops, hubby just opened a sangiovese. what a combination.
bummer, grey
oh we were there about 2 weeks ago here in Orlando ... great service , nice people !
uh - does anyone else's computer say that there is 1 minute until the puzzle closes?
Ruff - marsala? You make tiramasu like me then? Seriously, I'm not a spirits drinker.
had to get glasses for my son who broke his and had to work the next day ..was an emergency thing !
ummmmm no
one left. can anyone help me with the second te6/21?
Ruff- mine does that about three times a night -- just refresh and you'll be fine
I need so many words.. ..... here's something funny - there are 25 a words... i have FOUR!!! gonna need more rum.... i feel like the bear in my icon!
out prowlin jac?
Jac you make my favorite desert !!! when are you making it and what time do you want me there ?? < smirk >
Glad to hear you had such a great experience, granny
Grey there were wonderful to us as always
Robert: I have te6/21. Take a word that has to do with crying. Make it past tense.
pass over some of that rum, MAMA even with the day to search I barely scratched the c's
Ohrom ! how was the walk !?!?!?
got that one oh
by the way ohro, read your bio and loved your quote(s)
Sorry Robert. I just noticed that I only have one of them and it isn't the one that you need. : (
AHHHHH - someone who will share a drink with me *mamabear goes to kitchen...... crap. trips over dog..... goes to get glass for GW.... (want ice?) ....
thanks anyway ohro
Hey GG: The walk was splendid. New York is beautiful in the fall. I had to get out of here. The TV is constantly playing commercials for the upcoming mayor election. I don't care who wins. I just want the commercials to stop.
Not prowling, Robert, just clueing! Have you got what you need now? Mama - not sure when I'm next making Tiramasu, depends how the mood takes me! LOL. Laast night it was apple crumble and cappuccino cheesecake.
mama - what kind of dog?
I tend to take my rum neat, thanks
not yet jac, i need the second te6/21
got the one bout cryin
Thanks, Kristin. There are a few poets in the chat room, I have found. : )
Neat? Well I wasn't planning on spilling it on ya..... I went around the dog on my way back.
can u help me jac?
Mamabear tripped over dog. Oh, hw I long for the old days when once did that. Still miss my old dog. Bet Mamabear didn't have to pull hair-blocked 'we won't say WHAT' from one cat's bottom and dispose of whole and perfect but dead vole that was other cat's offering? This is why I much prefer dogs to cats!
I used to love NY in the fall too Ohrom ... in Fl you only figure it out in the spring when it just gets hotter and notter lol
Ruff - I have 2 dogs - the one I "tripped over" is a Yellow Lab/Bull Mastiff combo - about 110 lbs. The other is a Black Lab/Doberman mix - about 60 lbs..
2nd 6/21, Robert. Definition is 'a ship worm of the genus te****'. How can I spell it out to you? I'll have a think...
ohrom - re: the commercials, that's exactly how I feel here in PA
ohro - poets in the chat room? I wrote a poem about dreams. I wonder if there's someplace in Babbleonia I could post it.....
Mama , snowy said she's going to post her carrot soup and I told her I'd put my baked potatoe soup up
Granny: In new york, you can tell it is spring when the hookers stop wearing snow boots and change back into stilettos. lol
we already had an inch of snow in boston
we had a dobie/alsation mix once, best dog ever now we have a min poodle & a pem welsh corgi
funny, ohro
rofl you're not supposed to tell them when I put my heels back on hehe blows my cover ... wait that didn't sound right !!!
That would be cool Mammabear. I would love to read it.
My yellow lab mix is "Rocky" and my black lab mix is "Bo"
My dog was a Jack Russell x Sheltie.
Robert I haven't been in snow since 99'
googled it jac and got it. . . thanks!
dobie - korbel poodle - lambic corgi - pimms
ohrm - where could I post it?
Grey: are you guys getting bombarded with ads too? It is getting rediculous in NY. I would skip voting for bloomberg and ferrero if there was someone running who didn't have any commercials. That person would get my vote.
i always like the first few snows, and then. . . . it gets tired
groovy - you've been in the snow since '99?????? OMG you better go in the house - you're gonna catch your death!!!! LOL
Mamma: put it on babbler's anon. I think we all spend time there anyway.
Robert I don't miss the snow at all ..... our rain is our snow I guess
Ohrom , the recpie or me in the boots???
Robert: Boston had snow? Crap. That means that NY is next. I am not mentally prepared for snow yet.
But ohrom, if they didn't bombard you with commercials then the vocal uneducated majority wouldn't know about them, thus preventing them from getting the necessary votes to win
Granny: I just read what you read about the boots/heels. hahaaha : )
GW - you are very serious tonite.... here's another rum & cran for ya!!!!
ohro, i think it was a fluke
EEK! What happened to my icon? It was supposed to be my old dog, not a distorted pic of me in fishnets!
I like you, GW. I always enjoy our chats here. You have summed up my thoughts on the state of politics today.......
hehe Ohrom it's just that im from florida so if I don't put my boots my ankles get cold lol
ohrm - I never posted in babanon. where would be a good place - in meet & greet or the interests log?
Sorry, MAMA, I don't mean to be (*gladly accepts new drink and takes a big swallow*) I'm still transcribing my list from work, so I'm little distracted as well
Mamma: Maybe in interests. It seems to fit the description.
orhm - maybe I'll just put the poem in my bio - that would work!!! ya think?
my new icon is my 8 month old grandson william
Ohmigod! Now it's posted my 'Jacq or Ozzie?' pic! LOL. What are you trying to do to me, Jamie??
That sounds good, Mamma. That is where mine is and a lot of people have seen it.
MAMA - i think on the board is better, you can start a new thread for others to build on
erat: Are u there?
Robert: Thank God. I am not ready for anything colder than 60 degrees yet. Granny: you are cracking me up tonight.
Ohrom -- I also forgot to mention that the ads we are getting hit with are for NJ, not PA at all!!!
Ohrom I like ya !!! you think like me !! must be the polish in us huh??
Folks, I've put a few of my own published poems on the net. Would you believe that some sites, when you put 'copyright' (c in a circle) and your published name, then zap the stuff you've posted???
I can't handle anything colder than 60 degrees I am a total cold whimp !! the other day when Wilma came thru I was outside and thought OMG it's chilly out .. went inside , checked the temp online and it was 66
Grey: are you in philly or something? Why are you getting Jersey ads?
Jac you've had that done to you ? that's unreal !
Jac - where can you put it on the net? I've had several people tell me I should publish my Dream poem, but don't know where to begin.
ohrom -I'm in Lansdale, about 45 min west of Philly
I'm going to need more alcohol to get through this grid. Mama? Rum?
oops: arat are you there?
GG - not on a certain UK getting peeps back together site it isn't! They got the message in the end though! I've got my proofs of publications and ISBN no's etc.
GW: is that in amish country? I took a drive through there once and I thought it was pretty.
good for you Jac ! I'd love to read some of them sometime
OK. I'm going to go to babanon and put a message in there - I'm not going anywhere with this monster grid tonite anyway. Be back in a bit!!! Don't go away!!!
*mamabear pours Ruff a tall one on her way out....."
ohrom - No, the Amish are in Lancaster county another hour to hour and a half west of me However the area here is actually quite nice to drive in as well
GW: I am sure it is beautiful. PA is gorgeous. You have my condolences about getting Jersey political ads. Do you have the irresistable urge to drive over the border and vote for Corzine or Forrester? ahhaha
Wow, I used to think I had a good vocabulary befire I started playing this game! (lol) For all the searching at work I only increased my word count by 60 - so I'm at 188
Grey - just wanted to say sorry for calling you 'gray'' earlier.
Evening, all. Need a bit of help with a pesky SE7/28. Clues? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Thanks. That 'q' kept tripping me up today!
thanks, mama
Jac - I am not a stickler for spelling, I knew who you were talking to I use alternate spellings to assure that I stand out as an alpha among all the other wolfs/wulfs out there ;)
ohrom - the hardest thing for me to get used to down here from living my entire life on LI or in Rockland county is the lack of population density -- around here the idea of a 24 hour diner is practically unheard of
eek-eek. Y'all got the neurons firing. found it!
GW: I just read your profile. That must have been quite a switch to go from LI to PA. It sounds like it was a good switch though. PA would be a great place to raise the fam. It is safe and less polluted and there is more access to nature. Sounds like a good choice. (although I would kill my self if I ever had to leave the city. lol) : )
I haven't been able to find the 2nd te6/21 either -- have you found it yet, Robert?
just came back..i realize I dont have the 11 letter word..probably not the 10 either..Help out there for moi?..puleeeeeeeeeze.?
I'm back!!!! I posted a message (including poem!) in the Meet & Greet - right after groovy granny's!!!!! Anyone need more rum?????
te 6/21 ** + to do again
I could use more rum. What was that earlier, rum & cran? No champers tonight for me, I'm afraid.
I was wondering where you were, ohrom :D I doubt you'd kill yourself, but it does take getting used to I mean, I have left my car in the parking lot of the apartment complex with the windows open and doors unlocked and noone cares!
And another rum & cran ... tall glass.... for ruff!!!!! OOPS... you might want to get some cold water and dab that out of your shirt or it will stain.... sorry!
Sorry I never post and I'm not sure what the rules are. I meant te + to do again
I know many of my poems on stored on comp., and many were 'lost' when word processor got blitzed by a house flood. Still trying to work out easiest way to get floppy discs from there onto comp. But I'll type out a poem for you as an example:
aaagh!! (running for the bleach pen)
I may be getting deaf, but I'm not stupid. I hear you whispering about the mess I leave. She can't help it. Poor old devil can't control her bladder. I'm not deceived by your kind smile and mild manner. You impress the neighbours with your saintliness, cover disgust and suppressed anger. I don't see so well either, but I'm not blind. I notice the looks you exchange with each other when I talk about the old times. She gets muddled, walks about in the dead of night. Aloud, you praise my long-term memory. I may not be as quick as I was, but inside, I'm twenty; the woman I've always been. Just agree with her. She hasn't got long to go. I may be old, I may be slow, but I'm no fool, and I'm not dead yet. Forget that I am an old woman. Remember who held your hand on the first day of school. Copyright Lily Frances1993 from 'Humour Her - She's Only A Woman'.
Jacula - when you have a minute, could you read mine and let me know what you think????
The worst thing about living in PA for me is that I no longer have the access to good roleplaying stores and people to game with that I used to That's why I love this game so much!!!!! *raises glass in salute, realizes that is is empty, so waves empty glass before getting a refill*
thank you PowerPlant - one more down and 13 to go!
GW - hold still and I'll pour ye another!!!!!! oops... ruff, please pass GW the bleach pen.....
i still have 118 words left to find..and that will be impossible given my drowsy state..so I will just bid you all good night, and GOOD LUCK!
g'nite lianakate - sweet dreeeeeemmmmmzzzzzzzzz
(passing gw the bleach pen)...hope you're wearing white!
Jac that was just awesome !
thanks, mamma..to you too!
nite liana
Sorry there are no blank spaces tween verses in my poem! There are in reality, but couldn't post it here with them. Mama - where's your poem? In BabAnon?
Jacula - that is a wonderful piece, I love it!! *waves away the bleach pen, it's only a simple white Tshirt, no one will care*
nite Lian
G'nite LianaKate
Jacula--I like your poem. Reminds me of my late grandmother who had to deal with alsheimers.
Jac - yes I put it in the Meet & Greet -
Heeeeeeeeelp please - do 5/12 (following Italian lady) and do 4/5 (following finished)
Jac - your poem is great!!! I love it!!!
I'll surely take time out to read it there, Mama.
Love the new icon Mamabear
thanks cybernan - it symbolizes how I feel today!
monkey-typing is actually getting me pretty far in this grid
We have some happenin' poets in this room. Mamma: wow. You have quite a talent. Thanks for posting your poem. I loved it. Jac: that was intense. I loved your poem for its reality. *Ohro (a closet beatnik) starts standing ovation for Jac and Mamma.
cyber do you have the one to show excessive fondness?
I'd stand, but I have had too much rum
groovygranny says Lincus Man !! and snaps
ruff - there is no such thing as too much rum
Now I have to go digging through my files to find some of my stuff -- good thing I am off this week - it will take me a little while to find
Thanks for taking the time to read it, ohro!!!!!! The truth is it was easy to write because all of the dreams I described in the poem are dreams I've actually had. I look forward to going to sleep at night because of them!! Every night is an adventure.
well all I off like a prom dress !!! have a good night .. see you tomorrow !
good nite groovy granny!!!!! sleep tite & sweeeeeett dreeeeeemmmmmmmmmzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz
GW: My car is always unlocked. It is called a taxi. hhahaahh I hear what you are saying though. If I had kids, I am positive that I would move to a similar place.
Granny: again, you are cracking me up. ROTFLMAO. Have a wonderful night and sweet dreams.
'Night groovygranny, always a pleasure chatting with you P.S. send an email to corporate re:your great experience at the store - the people involved may get recognised by the company if you do
Ah - finally got the do's straight - was missing the first one, which threw my list out of kilter
nite Mama , Jac, Grey , Ohrom, ruff, charm, cyber
Hope you find them GW, would love to read them
I won several awards for that poem, but what makes me said is that fact that I wrote it before it had touched my life. Was a seeing things, or what? St one point, I even thought I'd somehow made it happen... Some years after I wrote that poem my father, not my mother, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease (or 'Old Timer's Disease, as my son, most charmingly, misheard it).But it was a very long, slow descent into unkowingness for him after that. Some part of me, that wrote that poem, the second of a series commissioned by 'Age Concern', still thinks I caused it.
Any help for the last te 6/18 and te 7/28?
Jac - you did not or could not cause it, but your inspiration in writing it is what helped get you through the experience.
Grey for you anything !!! hey I wanted to ask ... if your internet goes out don't you get 10 words free?? JK !!
sweet dreams and keep it groovy =)
nite gran
Mamma. I liked "float naked atop the ocean's waves". I thought it was cool visual imagery.
Haven't read Mama's poem yet, but 'floating naked atoop the ocean's waves' sound great to me!
Yeah, that particular dream was not one I wanted to wake up from... was an awesome experience - even though only in my mind's eye.
gwenski - not ignoring you, I just don't have those two te's to clue for ya... sorry
yay! I've broken 200!
ruff I guess rum & babble is a good combo for you!!!
Thanks, mama. Well then, about one of the last two ar 6/18's? I've got one, past tense of ar 5/10.
Jac: I used to work in a nursing home for people with alzheimer's when I was in highschool. There are so many things in your poem that struck a cord in me. I learned a lot about life when I used to take care of people with alzheimers. It is very interesting to watch the variance in how the families are able to deal with the change in their relative. Some are mad, some are depressed, some are in denial, some just ignore the whole situation and hope it will go away. I am optimistic that there will be a cure in our lifetimes though. They are making a lot of headway with figuring out what causes the disease. We have that to look foreward to at least. At any rate, thanks for posting your poem. I really liked it.
I think you might be right, mama. Damn, I just got an eyeful of re's.
The final TE6 and TE7 (pl) - no proper def. Looks like a girl's name (actress Hatcher) + final consonant.
gwen - ar6/18 - what a police officer does to a criminal (makes an ar****)
thanks for the tip, Charm - I needed that one too!
ar6/18 - pl. of ar5/10 meaning "A sharp, narrow mountain ridge or spur."
Fabulous! Thanks, all!
May I please have a clue for the first fr 5/16 (following scots from)?
hey, GreyWoulf
&*
Hi Charm!!!
Actually, I just noticed that I need clues for the first two 5r 5/16's
sorry, all - that was a poodle on my keyboard
sorry about the typo - first two fr 5/16's
Hey, MamaBear. I apologize for not reading your Dream poem, but I've been done in by a 3yo and Edw. LEar's "Owl & Pussycat"!
Fr5/16 - "A membranous fold of skin or mucous membrane that supports or restricts the movement of a part or organ, such as the small band of tissue that connects the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth."
How's your day been, Charm? I celebrating the second best part of mine right now (the first part was spending the AM with my daughter before going to work)
I don't think you want an honest answer, GreyWoulf! It's been one....
ohromujici - we were a family that used 'black humour' to deal with the situation, as well as being 'real' about it. Even my Dad joined in on that, while he was still able. I remember sending my best friend a letter about going to see my Dad when he finally had to go into hospital.... I'd told her about the rushing to the door and tryingf to get out and go before we saw him banging on the glass and pleading with us to take him 'home'. (You will know what I mean about that.) but I'd told her about another patient who was only 48. We thought he might have been a waiter in his earlier life, since he marched with his left arm across, like it might have a starched teatowel on it. Anyway, he marched, up and down, up and down, up and down the ward and corridor. When his sister came to visit him, the only way she could spend time with him (as I wrote to my friend) was to link arms and march up and down with him. My friend cried buckets over that.:-(
Fr5/16 - looks like that curly, bitter salad green - minus one 'e' at the end.
Sorry to hear it, Charm... But at least you are with friends now
I know the salad green you mean, Charm, but not the name of it!
Charm - nothing to apologize for. Read it whenever you have a chance.... oh and it was a "day" for me too, thus the icon!!!
friends. tea. the Monster Baby, the Monster Dog, and the hubby are all snoring. That's good. I think....
Glad I am not the only one, cybernan :D
FR5/16 - instead of salad green, how about a dog breed called "bichon fr***"?
Charm - "monster baby, monster dog" but you didn't say "monster hubby" - so things could be worse!! LOL
rofl
MamaBear - we have those days, too. But this wasn't that bad!
Daughter, son and Other Half are all snoring here, I think, as are the 2 cats. That's good, I think?
I am feeling incredibly guilty for not trying harder on this grid.....
Thanks Charm - that did it! How about the fr 5/16 that comes between the two fr4/7's meaning 'scots for from' and 'pottery glaze ingredient'?
Going out of town for the weekend, starting tomorrow. So I wanted to do at least this one to see if I could ward off withdrawal until Monday. lol
Sounds good to me, Jac For me: baby is sleeping, one cat is enjoying my lap while another looks on jealously, wife is watching TV behind me, friends to chat with on the screen Only knowledge that my money concerns were over could improve on this
WHY, Mama? It's only a puzzle.
Other than the one fr and some of the esses - I have the rest Mamabear, if I can help.
Yeah Jac. There is a subtle irony in the sense that the person has a disease but they forget that they have a disease so for a while, there is a lot of frustration on the part of the patient and on the part of the family. It is a strange thing for families to go through though. In one sense, the families feel like they can't grieve or cry because their relative is walking and talking and is very much alive. But on the other hand, the person they knew is no longer there and never will be there again. It is a hard thing for people to go through because you lose someone you once knew even though there hasn't been a death. The lesson that I managed to take away from that situation was that you have to enjoy life while you can. ......and I have. : ) Have a good night all. I enjoyed talking to everyone.
Cybernan - posted the proper def. of the first fr5/16 at 10:06.... Looks - again - like F+ girl's name (at least, I once knew a girl with that name).
MAMA - you need another drink, since I typed in my list from work I have found a grand total of 6 more words and that is only because someone else asked for help
ONLY a puzzle.... she didn't mean that Dr. God!!!
GW - that's something that could make us all instantly smile. Having said tbat remember money, even 'enough' money, isn't the sole route to happiness.
Good night, ohrom - see you tomorrow Pleasant dreams
g'nite ohro - have a good nite and SWEET DREAMS!!!
Jacula, I agree that money isn't the route to happiness. BUT, it can make that route more comfortable and the scenery is more attractive. Been on both sides of that route, and I much prefer not having to worry about paying the bills! But 'enough' for me may be a pittance to someone else....
Maybe you are right GW, be right back....
ohromujici - If you come back to this log and read my message - I just want to say that's the lesson I learned, too. Life's far shorter than you think... and then you die.
Money is only a means of protecting my base of operations to find the path to happiness, Jacula ---
Well if we are going to talk about money problems... maybe I should get 2 drinks AND one for everyone else!!!
Thanks Charm - I missed the posting other than the one at 10:08
GW - do me a favor... read my poem please - I would like to know what you think since you are a writer yourself.
okay back from choir practice, perhaps i will find some more words!
Good night GW, Jac, Mamma. I have learned that money doesn't buy happiness but it does buy one heck of a good cosmopolitian martini which leads directly to happiness. : ) See you all tomorrow.
choir practice? What section do you sing? i sing soprano in 2 different choirs
ohro - AMEN to THAT!!!!
bottom feeder second alto, however my daughter is a first soprano.......
All I ever want monetarily is the knowledge that the fundamental bills are paid so that all I need to focus on is the ability to share quality time with friends w/o being afraid that tomorrow I will lose it all because of society's unhealthy obsession with measuring success with a bank balance
Charm - having been once married to a man who became a paper millionaire, I know what you mean. However, I still stand by my first statement.
hello all
hi nordina!!!!
Mama - I think your poem is wonderful in EVERY sense of the word. I am going to be printing a copy to post by my computer. (*big hug*)
hi nordina
Money indeed does not "buy" happiness. Happiness is generated from within. However, money and the adequate amount thereof DOES make life easier and does afford options in life and opportunities and experiences that are otherwise unattainable.
Hey nordina - how are you?
Thanks GW, you made my nite!!! *great big hug back*
fe 8/55?
Jacula - that money isn't the sole route to happiness? I quite agree with that. Actually, I would go further and say it never leads to happiness. But I'm practical: want the college fund funded, the retirement fund funded, the mortgage paid. THEN I can relax and look for happiness - I don't think I could be happy if I had to worry about the baby's future security. 'Nuff said! My philosophy will crawl back and we'll return to babbling....
I second that, Charm! I'm beginning to regret I mentioned money at all :D
Hey, having no, or not enough money is big time shitsville, especially if you have children to look after. Somehow, if you do have children to look after, you will go out and FIND the money for their basic needs, though not always your own. But time progresses, as do you, and you find a level. Oh yes, it might be fantastic to have the pool, a milliion bathrooms, a bedroom plus an entertainment room with SKY in for each. But, is that going to happen? Probably not! So, count your blessings, take stock, and GIVE THANKS and GET ON WITH IT! That's the gospe according to Jacula anyway.
LeslieAnn - sorry but I do not have the fe 8......
ah! got it. it is fe + consonant + vowel + what men wear to work
Fe8 = hearth
so jac...did you write that line for mick.... if you try some time you get what you need?
good clue, leslie ann!
GreyWoulf - I think the hearth is fi8....
clueless on both of those clues.....maybe a bit more?
Oh is my face red!!! How did I get an I to equal an E, must be the rum... (*reaches for another hit to wash away shame*)
An aside - this coming Christmas, don't overcook your calories, just overlook them and be sure to have a good time!
fi8 - to be near or next to the camp fi**. Fi****** chats.
Hi harpjane - when did you get here?
RUM??? You said RUM????? guess i need to go and fix a meyers and squirt to lubricate the thought process......
bbnaz - another rum enthusiast??????
great clue charm.... thanks!!!
yipperee
bbnaz - Who is Mick?
I could use help with the ri 5/10. I have one--(what the dough has done) but not the other. ty
LeslieAnn - what men wear to work?
Jagger..........you know the song (or maybe you don't) "You can't always get what you want"
then welcome to the party bbanz! (you are always welcome anyway, but it sounds good)
Mamabear - my 1st thought on your last post was 'overalls'. LOL.
ri5/10 - same as what yeast does, but different final consonant. Alt. word for stair/step.
(sticking with appleton estates here)
Charm - you are the clue queen for the nite!!!!!
And other days, I'm the proud owner of the haddock!
Jac - not quite!!! LOL
thank you very much for the invite........it seems to be a cerebral crowd ;~)
Charm - you are a well rounded person!!!!
My first thought was shoes (as in dress)
ty for the ri 5/16. I should have gotten that one. How about a clue for the ri5/16 and 6/27? I'm determined to break 200 tonight!
MamaBear, you understand perspective!
I just did that myself with that clue harpjane (break 200)
I am looking for 130 words...cannot imagine 200 yet.
Charm - I try!!!
GW, I think we're about the same level, or we come to play at the same time, anyway!
of course i only have 110 so far but the other night with glorious help from Jac I made it to 125 (along with other nice folks too)
if you have the first ri4/7 (meaning abundant or numerous), add a final consonant for the ri5/16. And for the ri6/27 - it is THE MOST of the ri4/7.
It sure seems that way, harpjane
Last one! Any clues for the se 7/40? - finally resorted to a2z, but nothing there that fits.
Thank you Charm (*arms wide to give hug*) For some reason, the double R placement is causing me brainlock
se7/40 - go back to a2z and remember that pesky 'q'. It means following in order or time.
duh!!! -- just spotted it! Pass the bubbly, please.
That silly 'q' just kept getting in my way all day....
hey
hey
Hey Smeltz, welcome to the party
Smelzdog!!!!!! I was just about to say g'nite and look who shows up!!!!
I'm throwing in the towel at 240 - can't keep my te's, re's & se's straight anymore. night all.
a2z?????
A valiant effort, ruff. Sleep well and hopefully tomorrow will be more productive for you.
g'nite ruff!!!! see ya t'morrow!
refusing to use a2z, and suspect that it will ruin me for this grid
When all else fails, http://www.a2zwordfinder.com.
How about one more clue for se7/40? I KNOW I'm close!
240 ruff? well that's 110 more than I have!!!!!!
bye, all.
Harpjane: start with the lower S
harpjane - when things are in numerical order -- they are in (sequ***)ial order
Bye Mamabear - til tomorrow
TA DAAAAAHHHH! ty
Lower E, not lower S. I'm getting tired too!
g'nite cybernan - sleep well & dream deep
How about a hint for the et6?
Anyone need any clues before I log out for a while?
et6 - an archaic form of a word for forever.
et 6 - Think of Rome, the et***** city - drop the final consonant
well up to 118............
thank you cybernan
thank you Ladies (*bows, stumbles, drops drink*)
be careful with that liquid gold!
What about co 7/44 & 7/32? ty
co 7/42 - meat cooked and preserved in its own fat -- duck co****
co7/32 - a tournament, a ballgame between rivals, a sweepstake, a raffle. OR to co***** a will.
co7/32 - competition
it's OK, the glass was empty I am a firm believer in the rule of Saint Callahan - "Hell has a special room for drinkers that contains a vat filled with every drop of alcohol spilt throughout their lives. and that they must spend thetr eternity hanging upside down in said vat"
ou 9/66?
GW - what you say??? an empty glass? where are my manners????? *mamabear fills GW's glass to the rim with only the finest and smoothest rummmmmmm*
ou9 - make more money than the next guy
ou9 - past tense of the ou7/32 meaning to make more money than another.
why won't my 'puter accept that et**** word????
I see by the clock on the wall that I have an hour to begin a new novel before post time -- see you later!
cybernan - g'nite - what time is it by you?
BTW - does anyone know what's wrong with freon?!!
why? has he been sick???? LOL
(*carefully sips drink w/o spilling a drop*) See ya later, cybernan!
Mamabear - 8:58 pm (pacific standard) -- just an hour til post time.
(sign) how bout one more try at co 7/32?
I think freon is a brand name - that question came up a couple of nights ago
sorry - I meant the word freon (as in refrig. coolant) -- kept trying it to no avail.
Hey MAMA, the way you are keeping my glass filled, a guy could think you are trying to take advantage of him ;)
harpjane - try this someone who was in prison is an Xco* - add to that an exam in school t***
cybernan - I know.... was being silly (which is my middle name)
When you put your name on a slip of paper and put it in the box at the mall, you are entering a co*****
GW - *wink*
Got it! (Duh...could you spell it out for me?) Now I feel really stupid! Oh well.
harpjane - the only word that doesn't exist in babbleonia is "stupid" - there is no stupid.... cross-eyed is more like it!!!
it's a reflection of the game, not the player, harpjane no need for such feelings
We have a poet and didn't noet -- impressive, Mamabear!
Can't help it. I feel safe in my stupidness, mind you. Not a problem.
thanks cybernan *blush*
two words shy of my goal.........talk about cross eyed
How about a hint for the co7/44?
don't throw a hissy ***
I don't care much about finishing today.
slang for prisoner leads out
co7 - pl. of co6/30 cooked in fat (a fr. dish called duck co****).
co7/44 (tHen I'm off): 1st 3 letter = prefix meaning with, plus clothes that are not baggy *** + plural
prisoner = co* tantrum = *** then you can pluralize it too
Welcome to my world, Smeltz!!! I have only 133 words. Been enjoying the chat more than the hunt tonite!
most of us don't, Smeltz word seeking is filling the gaps in conversation
thanks bbnaz
yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww 130 most i ever found doing the happy dance drinking the meyers/squirt with no spills
GW - di d you get the co 7/44? (oh and is your glass ok)
gotta give up, folks. Great chat today! See y'all on Monday.
it's mr and mrs smeltzdog
BTW, the Saint Callahan I referenced is Mike Callahan from the Callahans Crosstime Saloon books by Spider Robinson. I just realised that he didn't say it though. It was Doc Webster, one of the regulars/main characters. Warning - stay away from these books if you don't like/appreciate puns!
g'nite Charm!!!! Hey Smeltzie why so formal????
G'nite Charm, thanks for the assist and conversation. See you then! Sweet dreams
It's what you wear for a wedding.
GW - already wrote down the name!!!! PUNS is my other middle name (after silly)
got the co, MAMA and my glass is fine for the mo (mainly cos I put it down somewhere and have to find it again)
are you proposing?
who me?!
GW - there it is - over there on the table next to the lamp
Smeltzdog....
oh, ok... Picks up drink and sits down
GW co7/44: a meat that is cooked in its own fat. happens a lot with duck.
GW - I asked Smeltzdog why he was so formal ("mr and mrs. smeltzdog") and he said that's what you wear to a wedding... so that's why........
the ec's are confusing me - I'm sure the 8 is pl. but what is the 7?
I have done the math and I am convinced that there can only be one fe4/8. I have the people who work for the gov. What's the other one?
gw-A transitional zone between two communities containing the characteristic species of each
I got it, MAMA -- just the wonderful tag that the chat lag causes - makes for interesting reading sometimes
up to 135....getting a bit giddy here
GW - yes it does!!!! *wink & hug+ - and today is your luck yday - I have the ec's of which you speak!!!! ec 7 is ec* (what happens when you yell off a mountain top without the h) + the ring**** on your cell phone) plus the 8 is the plural
Thank you for the help -- I just have one more 8 to get, the te
I have 168 words
MAMA - any day with you in it is a lucky day for all involved
maybe a green leafy house plant? fe**
Yeah, bbnaz. I found it! going to bed early tonight so I'm adjusting my goal. Five more and I quit at 150.
okay i am greedy but one more will put me at 140 an all time high................keep those clues coming maybe one of them will pop it for me....like maybe an ri?
GW - what an incredibly sweet thing to say..... *bear hug plus....*
harpjane - wasn't the fe** house plant a 4/7?
*hugs back + neck rub*
how did you know my neck was hurting?
*knowing grin*
you're right mama.......now i am looking again....
such a sly woulf!!!!
By golly, you're right MAMA. I never did find the other fe4/8. Any clues, or should I cut my losses and move on?
I'm sorry bb & harpjane - didn't mean to cause a ruckus!
the fe4/8 is fe + "the *** Couple" - d
just found it by monkey typing - pluralise it too
*GW takes a bow* bravo's exude from the crowd
tyvm. am now at an all time best of 142 words...maybe i should drink everytime i play this game
Awwww...shucks *drags toe in ground* Tweren't nothing
got it. I guess I need to work on my monkey typing strategy!
bbnaz - you gotta!!!!!! Babbling without drink is like fishing without a hat!!!!
Is that why I haven't broke 100. I need to drink while I look.
I'm back, what have I missed? Other half got up for work and we sais 'hello'' like you do...
Stace - uhhhhh yeaaaaah!!!!! Didn't you read the fine print in the babble rules????
Hey Stace, didn't know you were here!! Welcome back!
Hi again Jacula
Welcome bac, Jac!!!!!
Any tips for the te8?
te 8, te 8, te 8........ nope.... sorrrreeeeeee
te8 is simple plural of te7/28, if you have that.
146!!! more rum more rum not red rum red rum
Hey GW - I saw you finished the puzzle yesterday - imagine my shock!!!! good job! I hope tomorrow's is a tad smaller.. maybe even a tad and a half
Icon is a 1971 pic of me stretched out over bonnet of my Dad's 1100, btw.
te 7,te 7, te 7, nope!!!!!!
There are 2 te7/28's Jac, I do not have the root for the 8
like an all te****** vehicle but not exactly spelled that way....no i in there and a consonant instead
ruff - here ya go *mamabear pours another large extra smooth rum & cran for ruff..... and it's not "red rum" ... however I do remember something going "red rover, red rover..." but that's a game of a different "color" LOL
te7/28 - a series of related rock formations. Sounds like something (ground) you might expect soldiers to run over... te* (wet weather).
red rum red rum THE SHINING
I am down to my last two words and I swear they do not exist.....Can anyone help me out here.....they are both se words ....the first se 5/10 and the se 7/28.
Got it bbnaz, thank you (*raises glass in respect*)
Hi again, stillcrazy se7 = numbers are in (seq****)ial order
ooooh scary movie. scarier book.
se5/10 - add an 'e' to the word above it.
I have the se 7/40 but not the se 7/28
se7/28 - Google 'Capsicum annuum '.
oops
omg Jacula...got the 5/10 now will go look for the other
Be quick, Still Crazy!
two more and it will be 150......................keep those clues coming
12 mins left and counting....
one more word one more word one more word
But which word?
bbnaz - that's three!
heck if i know
i have nothing coming from the bottom right f
if you want to punch something, you make a f***
bbnaz - you ball your hand into a fi**
have that but the grid didn't take it from that corner so there must be another word
Got a quick hint on ea 7?
GW - I think we are twins separated at birth
I think you owe me a drink for that, MAMA ;)

Hey there sprite!

Hi GreyWoulf! All well at your side?
did somebody sneeze?
still crazy, it's a type of hot pepper
take the name for a scalloped edged knife and put the latin name for year on end
Never knew that doggie name really was concerned with a coin with a minting error before. Are they trying to say our dearly beloved dog is THICK????
so far so good, sprite
stillcrazy - on your ea word - what you hear with ea* + what a bird sleeps in n***
still crazy you have to drop the "ted" and then put the opposite of yes on the end

stillcrazy - use th egoogle link to the pepper database - african piquin ---- it's in the list
se - then did a race, and every one said 'O!'
Stuttered at start of race though.
