It is raw fish, has to be very fresh to be tasteful, but when it is... it is eaten with onion and pickels, or without (my preference), with white bread or without, and some people hang the (cleaned) fish by the tail and eat it that way.

Mama - From talking with many people on this topic, I have come to the conclusion that there can be no true reconcilliation between NY and Chicago pizza -- the difference is inherent to the region and it all boils down to which preparation technique you prefer :)

Griffs, it is rather hard to find a way to describe the word. You may have a G5/14-6/24 combo (extension of the G4 that is a check given by the British government to someone who is unemployed). If you change one vowel of the combo, you have the ending of the E8-9. The first part has a horse-and-carriage in it.

The horse-and-carriage clue might be confusing. It refers to a very small word, so small that only its plural is valid in this grid. It is the same word you can use for gear, for stuff you use.

Oh, I just got it. Why it was sticking in my head as familiar - and where I got it from - is from a datasheet that I used for years to collect field data on plants in the arctic. It's just we called it EPU for short. I had to think about what that meant...

LOL. My computer room HAS no windows but if I go out to the hallway and look to the left ... the view is out the "wall" of windows that faces Big Goose Creek. Lots of trees, the creek, of course, and a meadow across the way which we can only see in winter (because of the trees) where deer, cows and horses romp around and the occasional mountain lion. How about your window?
My view is very pretty. Anyway, back to you! So, have the leaves all fallen yet?

I used to work with a SCA guy who went to PA every year for some gathering. He was king of something or other. Everytime a movie would come out with armor or sword fighting, he would launch into verbal essays about what was wrong with the details.

tbear- the key is listening, but really listening. Listening is a skill that everyone has to learn. First rule never interupt someone. Difficult but can be done. Second rule never think about how you want to respond while someone is talking to you. Third rule listen to what the person is saying really. Very often when there is a conflict people are communicating two messages to you. The message that is coming out of their mouth and the message they are saying underneath. Listen for the message underneath. Be silent when listening. In that silence you will find all the answers. Last rule of listening is be calm, be nice. Don't take anything personally. This is the hardest rule especially with teenage girls. But always try and be nice. OH and use humor wherever possible. Sorry for the lecture but I get carried away sometimes.

Which dialect are you learning? I've got a friend who's learning Mandarin, a friend who's learning Cantonese, and a guy who only speaks Mandarin :) The two things he can say in English are 'nothing' and 'formula one' *sighs*

Most of the things I love listening to I discovered empirically. You know, when you're just browsing through the cds at the shop, and all of a sudden, you get this fist that hits your chest, were the heart chakra is (it's my mystical centre). And you know you've found something. You haven't listened to it yet, but you know.
Sorry Artlady - We Brits get very excited about old tv programmes and we got very little american childrens tv early on. I will say I get very nostalgic for I love Lucy and Bewitched tho!

Ok, Miya. Watched the interview. The songwriter has talent. He could get his message heard without being so graphic on stage as well. But maybe they feels it's the only way to get heard. But what their fans (like those we see in the vid) really hearing in the end? Are they in the message frame of mind or are they just exteriorizing a darker side?
Well, I guess they aren't for everyone...but to me, their difference makes them such a great band to listen to. Especially since one song of theirs bought to light such a great outrage they actually did have an effect for the better on society

I usually get about half the words for "fun" before I go to lists & hints & such... I think I've improved a bit actually learning some of the odder words... even used a few in conversation (funny looks resulting most of the time)!
Well, EB, I had a nice photo of myself (the real me) with some enhancements--like piercing blue eyes. klly, it means Babble has thrown a wobbly. Sometimes it will accept words that don't exist, won't get you a point score, and disappear as soo as you invoke the ritual of f5 :)
klly -- that has happened to me as well -- the words you had typed in were intially accepted in error and when you refreshed, they disappeared.

Story of tumble dryer reminds me to tell you lot how I nearly got stuck for a day with my arm embedded up to my elbow in a wall. Outlet for t/dryer pipe is in side wall (where no windows are) at side entrance to house. I unscrewed the grille to the outlet and started to clear fluff out of the pipe from the dryer. Then I stuck my arm in to grab more, I'd just reached the bit where the pipe drops down, up to my elbow by then, when I realised, with a little panic, I was kinda stuck! I told myself to calm down and relax, 'If it went in it must come out' (no smut here please!). It worked. PHEW! Oh well, par for the course for me. I once superglued my jumper to the edge of a kitchen work surface and my finger to a concrete 'smiley face' I was putting on a screw just outside the back door.:-(
