p 6/24

Is it just me, or is 145 kinda anticlimatic for the 1000 puzzle?
t6/24 t6/21
Yesterday's puzzle would have been more like it
That's what I was thinking Hugs
sp7/32 x 2
Hi all. Another board of fun... I think I need a break after the last board!! Did anyone finish plz??
I'm surprised at how many actually did finish! Amazing.... (btw, I was NOT one of them! lol)
Hey, I finished it
Already!.... Way to go Hugs....
onya hug! That was a huge puzzle...
Pretty impressive Hugs, how long did it take you? I couldn't find anymore after 250 or so....
Happy 1000th everyone!! Finally back from the grocery store ---had to go to 2 places to find cranberries!! What self respecting grocery runs out of cranberries at this time of year!!!
Did you bring me some candy?
Whatcha makin with the c-berries GW?
a millenium of puzzling!!
What do you like, tor? I've got reese's cups...
luv - I got cranberries and bananas to make bread :)
Reese's Cups are good .. Yum!
(*passes Reese's 4 pack to tor*) Anyone else?
Reese's are the best ... we've always likened it to eating natural peanut butter on whole wheat toast .. a sort of health food if you will *hee hee* Banana's and cranberries together? Sounds delish!
Debs, I finished yesterday's puz... I still need 70 to go to finish today's.
Sorry.. got confused but nothing new...lol
luv, I worked on it when it was released for about 2 hrs, then another hour or so this morning, then about 1/2 hr tonight. I'd never would have completed it if it wasn't for BJ's list though.
Still impressive ... BJ's list is a life saver sometimes isn't it.
Oh yeah, it sure is. and a time saver too.
Is Tracyo or Funkylady on here tonight?
Back in a bit -- have to rub the generous wifes back --- she let me spend the entire day on the computer to finish yesterday --- I wish I could be more like you - Hug --- it took me over 10 hours to finish yesterday! I owe my daughter big time!!!
See ya' in a bit GW *what a guy - back rubs! :)*
Debs - did you mean sp 7/36 x2?

Hi everyone!!! I am finally a pro babbler!!
LIME CAT! MY FRIEND! WELCOME!
Hi mrpres -- welcome to the ranks!
grey!! it's me... lickety!!
You did mention you had another ID...
yep, my husband uses the lickety id most of the time and I started my own about 3 weeks ago because I needed to be "myself"!! *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
M 6 - to make gentle and M7 is the plural.
Thanks Dal!
Mr. President... you look so much like cat ... sans the lime on the head. lol
like MY cat... sorry
That's very cool, mrp -- the ability to be oneself is always a good thing ;)
Well, time for me to head to bed.. I'll finish tomorrow. Night All!
G'nite hugs ... see ya' manana
grey...I luv this too! I particularly like the stats!
I'm not far behind you, Hugabugs! G'nite -- ((**Hugs for Hugs**))
pom... that is one cool cat!
Oh yeah, the stats rock! Except when you see there are 50 words that start with M and you can only find 21 of them .... lol
thanks dalmations5 got it
Nite Hugs
mrp - the stats are very cool -- watching them go grey can be SO satisfying -- especially yesterday! :D
Nite everyone thats going to bed.. sweet dreams
Glad to help - everyone is so good about sharing clues!
Nite Deb...
Sorry ... thought you were going to bed Deb! my bad! lol
stalled at 101 -- time to find a new icon!
No I just got up... Its 07:05 here....lol
Refresh and you can see my Sasha... shaded silver persian. We have 3 -- Sasha, Napoleon, charcoal, and Caesar, cream. They're my babies. :)
Debs -- how long did it take you to finish yesterday?
I didnt manage to finish .. I had to go to Norwich to finish Xmas shoppin!
luv -- She's a beauty! How old?
Sash is 10, Poly 12, Ceeze 4. They think they are royalty. Bred to lay around and look good. lol
Oh well, Debs -- at least you got to shop -- I still have no idea what I to get anyone! ;D
I've finished all mine now... The city was a nightmare so I wish you all the luck in the world...lol
Back rub and cranberry/banana bread for me Grey. I'm easy... :D
Thanks, Debs -- thankfully my friends/family are simple to buy for -- just a matter of getting out to look -- no one I know wants anything hideously expensive or faddish :)
luv -- if you were near me, I'm sure something could be worked out :) The wife loves to bake and she trusts me implicitly so its all good :D
My friends and family are just simple......lol
lol, Debs
I used to spend too many hours and way too much $$ on gifts. Spent hours wrapping and was a major scrooge the whole holidy season. Finally decided less is more, and the kids are old enough now they appreciate getting everyone together. We got a big screen for the family and new carpet for our new house. Fa la la la la .... and the kids are fine with it. :)
Does your wife make Pumpkin Pie Woulf?
hello to all... happy holidays..... what is the icon tonite please ?
Yes she does, Debs -- though she uses store bought pie filling, she does everything else from scratch Her pie crusts are the best I have ever had!
I had that once when I stayed with some friends in Burr Oak MI it was scrummy
luv - that is a wonderful thing to hear about your family -- too many still seem to think that the season is a competition to see who got the most
You don't have pumpkin pie in the UK Deb?
No.. well I've never had it anywhere apart from America and the only time the shops sell fresh pumpkins here is Halloween
Thanks Grey. You're daughter is at such a fun age for the holidays. This should be a great year for you! :)
Hi, Blaze!! -- the theme is pictures -- more detail beyond that I don't know --except mtnjock was the requester
And what, pray tell, is wrong with jedi?
I think only Martha Stewart makes pumpkin pie from actual pumpkins. The rest of us get our pumpkin from the can. lol
I've never seen canned pumpkin...lol
I make my pies from the pumpkin
luv - it is except that I am having money issies that tend to shadow things for me, though she is blissfully unaware --- next year will be even more exciting since she will have her little brother to share it with :)
and they are sooooooooooooo good
Hi Blaze. Sorry -- didn't mean to ignore... in my own little chatting world. :o)
c-nan -- I wanted to know the same thing! LOL
Wow shorty -- are you Marth Stewart incognito? lol Impressive -- much more work isn't it? And I haven't seen the little "sugar pumpkins" in the grocery. What kind do you use?
The real reason why Kirsten uses canned is because of the convenience factor -- She has made from scratch before, but she had much more free time then
Hi Blaze - I think it's photos.
just farm raised pumpkins but I love doing it
You're getting lots of rain, if the weatherman can be believed!
I've put in a photo...Its my Grandson bless him
I know some people that will give me pumpkins
Grey -- she's 2 right? Those cardboard books are so great for that age. I've found quite a few for just a dollar or two. But I totally relate to the financial damper. Been there before... (besides, kids always play with the boxes, not the gifts! lol) *hugs*
All this pumpkin talk is making me hungry! Mmmmmm
lol
Thanks, luv (*hugs*) I've got a few things for her ---but all I really need are books, she is always asking to go to the bookstore, I am so happy that she is my little bibliophile ;D
I tried photo's and it did not work so good so went for the vancouver nite life ( at the moment)... it is very cold... if it rains here it will be freezing rain or snow... and a real mess.
I have 4 j's: je 4/10, ji 4/9 and 4/11, jo 4/9 Does anyone have the two that are missing?
I have a je 4/9
i have a je4/9 after the 4/10
We had snow here on Saturday..
Thanks, Harp -- got it
Hey blaze, we used to live West of Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Could see Victoria lights on a good night. I loved it there!!
luvy where are you now.??
Thanks for the 3 j's I didn't have, every one ;)
There is also a jo 5/24
North DafreezinmyassoffKota lol
Oh you poor thing... that is below Manitoba I think... but not too good on geography... You poor poor thing.... when my daughter traveled across Canada... she felt sorry for the cows on the prairies because they seemed so all alone and freezing cold....
What's your temp luv? We're below zero but I don't bother to check anymore. My car will start at 20 below so I don't have to follow the weather that carefully until it approaches that! I think we're around 10 below.
where you at harpjane?
Only -6 right now ... but the wind chill is -20. The wind is what gets you. But I long to be back in my beloved Northwest. :(
ND is south of Sask and Manitoba I think.
Hamilton Montana. The banana belt of Montana. Relatively speaking, we're warm!
I'd never heard of the "remote start" and plugging in your cars before we moved here. brrrrrr....
cold cold prairie winds.... although the coldest I have lived in was in Peace River Alberta... -50 and a wind chill bringing it down to -60.... I never complain about the cold...
Hamilton MT and the Bitterroot Valley really is beautiful. Hubby's aunt and uncle lived there.
Or hotels that offer outdoor plug in for your car. Or people who think a heater for your oil pan is an optional addition!
oh brrrrrrr
Thanks, Dalmatian -- another black square!
60 below???? Aye yi yi!!! And you lived to tell about it? Strong woman... lol
Dakota...lovely weather... NOT. What is 'remote start'?
We had one winter where the three day HIGH was 45 below (F). Now THAT was cold. Propane freezes around that temperature.
you could not go out or at least not without protection form freezing...
It's a question of clothing and equipment. I have outfits that I never get to wear unless it gets below zero!
You have a remote on your key chain that starts your car while you are still in the house, or store, or bar, etc. Then your car is warm when you get in it. Wonderful invention!
OK -- you are making me really glad to be in PA right now, folks -- to me really cold has always been defined as near 0 F --- but my bones are beginning to feel cold listening to you :) Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
Time for me to go and make sure daughters getting ready for school.... Nite to all across the pond, sweet dreams. Morning all all on this side hope you have a great day.. Take care x
the next best thing is an in car heater..... it keeps the inside of your car warm no matter how cold..outside
grey... come to my side of the planet... a lovely 29 C today!!
I couldn't believe it when we first moved here. People left their cars running while they were in the grocery store, Wal-mart, etc. I was amazed! Where we moved from the car would have been stolen in nothing flat!!! lol
Bye Debs.
Have a good day Deb. Catch ya' later. :)
Have a great day, Debs! mrp -- I'd love to, but only for a visit!
I could really use Brandy Jack's second letter list right about now! I have 90 words. 45 to go.
Dear Santa, I have been very, very good. I would like an in car heater please. :D
I'm calling it a day, too. have 33 left for my coffee breaks tomorrow. Cheers!
Cya Nan, luv,Woulf and all.... Take care, be happy & smile.. Lifes too short xxxxxxx
nothing against you, mrp -- but your home grounds have way too many poisonous beasties for me to feel comfortable living there
Oh but Grey ... what we have here is called "dry cold"... supposed to be so much better than the coastal areas chilly days. Dry cold my a**. 20 below is still damn cold !! lol
So long C-nan-- sleep well!
I think it would be great to visit you MRP.... if only it was a car ride away...LOL
Nitey nite cybernan.
LOL, luv -- I have had friends say the similar things about the 'dry' heat of states like Arizona too
clue for the jo5, please? I want to go to bed, but my OCD won't let me!!!!!
Hey mrp -- If I came to visit could you arrange me a visit with Steve Irwin??? I think he's a cutie. :-D
I remember sitting somewhere on Goat's Eye Mt, Alberta, Canada... crying cause I thought I might die from the cold!! I hate skiing & everything the weather requires of it!
Actually luv, a wet cold IS much worse. I went to college in Green Bay....
okay ... I concede to Wisconsin... but still.... *whining*
jo 5 is a large bowl or the amount it holds.....
jo 5..... slang for coffee and the captain morgan drink
There, there mrp. You're safe and warm now.... No more bad guys will take you skiing...
pom, will see what I can arrange with the crocodiles!
You're making me thirsty!
mrp.... I understand that feeling.... it is so nice to be in warm babble company... no matter the weather....
Thank you!! No I can go to bed -- have to be up for early shift tomorrow :) Good night to all! ((((*HUGS for All*)))) TTFN
nitey nite...
Gotta love the Cap'n ... *standing with arm raised and knee lifted*

Dianne, how's the weather in Hong Kong? My brother is there on vacation.
Sweet Tooth - For Hong Kong it is cold - mid 50's. But often it is colder inside than outside. Hong Kong people are in love with their air conditioning!
thanks harp!
How many sn? I only have one, sn 4/5.
Dianne, LOL. I would love have mid 50's temp, it's so cold in Seattle right now. I'm originally from Los Angeles so I'm still adjusting to the weather.
hj thats the only one I have so far
harp, I'm missing one S but I only have one Sn.
Sweet Tooth - it feels much colder here than the degrees indicate - we are surrounded by the water and the apartments (mostly) don't have central heating. Also, I think my body has changed from living in this hot climate solong.
hey everyone! am getting a haircut, and since they have internet and stuff here, i've decided to do some babbling! =)
Hi renee... snip, snip!
Di, no central heat, that's surprising. When I lived in L.A. I thought 60 degrees was cold! I know what you mean about your body changing....my body keeps telling me to eat more, add more fat, stay warm!
Hi renee!
woah. hair straightener thingy is very hot. veryvery hot.
ST - We only get 2 - 3 "cold" months here so space heaters do the trick. Our cat thinks it is his personal fireplace - he is sitting in front of it when we get home just waiting for us to turn it on!
Dianne, I miss Hong Kong!
smart cat!
hong kong never gets that cold, but it's been somewhat colder these few days. and over here in taiwan.. it's not cold at all. pshh. i want snow!
Got the 2 sp7's What is the 3rd 7?
mi 7/36
anyone know if babb anon is updated yet so i can see the word count???

Yeah, I have 40 to go and can't see another thing... I keep typing fatlip but it doesn't work!
"oldfart" is also in this puzzle
Hi All - Back at last after 10 days in Cameroon with no Babble!
Hi Spellit, welcome back!
hi spellit!! i want to go to africaa! (cameroon IS in africa, right?)

Fantastic trip Linda0 I'll tell you about it. First thing I did was sweat profusely at 33 degrees. Not coping well being back in Swindon!

*Monday morning tackles EvaNadine into a snowdrift* : D I've got two sp7s : ) Gone off, and wrapped around as in wire
Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a good weekend! :)
ok -like all i did was open up to see how many words are in the grid and i get an oops - is that an indication of how my day is going to go ???
Morning, everyone from Atlanta. My Star Wars aficionado son-in-law would be highly insulted that jedi isn't accepted.
Morning, well it's a gentle one for Babble's 1000th grid : )
I really need a day off today after yesterday's marathon. But as it's the 1000th puzzle ..........
I would have expected more fanfare for the 1000th! Like balloons or a thank you from Dr God. ;)
Right, gotta go - BBL : )
Good morning everyone!
awww....i was at breakfast when i got tackled into a snowdrift, and now my attacker has disappeared!!
ah eva - we can describe him - was that the black & white swirlly op art object that spiraled and ran?
yes, i do vaguely remember a spirally hallucination!
Hi averyone, back for another try. 44 to find
Done. I hope everyone has a great Monday!
i think evanadine that he's pulling the old avenger's trick by trying to psyco babble you into not pulling him from a line-up....you think? subliminal message - follow the swrling spiral ....
DONE>>>anyone need a clue???
yeah. Why do I keep doing this to myself???
dar...we must be masochistic...only possible explanation
LOL, yeah, hurt me some more.
Good morning, all! How goes it?
hey Jera, I'm still trying to recover from yesterday :-P
Me, too! That was a weird ending for me last night!
Did you finish? I finally had to quit half way through from brain sqeeze.
I did finish yesterday...good thing it was a regular work day
...wasnt...
Yes, it was quite exciting... I lost an r6 somewhere & it was driving me crazy... one stinkin' word left!! I even wept on GW's shoulder... Anj saved me... it was a group effort, LOL
good thing - it wasn't is right ! 8)
Good mornng all -- time to reconcile with Brandyjack's list.
morning nan
Mornin' cybernan... have you recovered from yesterday yet?
Good morning everyone!
morning lupe - 8)
Well, I just got back from a 19 day trip to Aruba. and guess what, I finished the puzzle. Maybe all that Aruban sun helped. So, should I go back? :)
wow, welcome back!
fit1 - Yes, and take me with you!
Thanks Une. Yeah, I missed babbling....about 10 seconds each day LOL
Torgone, if you don't weigh too much, you can stow away in my suitcase.
It would have to be a steamer trunk . .
LOL Targone
morning everyone!! :)
Hello everybody! How did you all do with yesterday's monster??
Hola Lola !
Good morning Jera, Renfield -- I wasn't ignoring you -- I was makin' da list and checkin' it twice!
hey, lola! finished but could do without one that big for awhile!
Hello, Cybernan, jera, fit1, etc....
Hey lupe! How you doing? :)
Today Dr. G is definitely being nice!
I believe it is the 1000th grid today?
morning lola- torg - fit- une i finished yesterday's grid -
I'm thawing Lola - my fingertips are still frozen from my morning commute!
Lupe, I turned the heating on early today. I can't get used to the cold here! lol :D Where are you and what is your temp? (in degrees celcius if poss?!)
-18C / -1F - in Chicago. At least my bus was on time..... How cold is it where you are Lola?
Wind chill factor is like -26C
OMG. I cannot comprehend how cold -18 is!!! It is a 'mild' 4 degrees C here but that is about 10 less than I am used to! *lola makes mental note to stop complaining about cold as she is just a wimp*
I need help with my li4/6 & li5/14...
I understand cybernan...
li4/6 is what you do if you hurt your foot
good morning, lola, lupe, tor, une, ren, cybernan, and everyone. It's 42F/5 C here in Baltimore.
Good grief, where's the fish???
LOL Lola....
Hi deutsch :)
LOL, jera!
Hi Deutsch!
Well, I'm done... is anyone stuck before I go get Girl Scout stuff done??
li5?
I'm so disgusted, me of all people should have gotten that one... (I'm crippled, in case that wasn't picked up on)
Hooray for Jera!
li5... add a vowel
sounds like an added verse for oompa loompa!
ty Deutsch... were you around for the fun this weekend??
tu5/16?
tu5/16 = like really hot sticky weather, but with a t
nice, thanks I would have never gotten that!
[stunned silence]....... :o !!
Are you okay, Babbler??
... can't believe it...!! :o !!
Hi sweetie, dahling! *looks behind her* What??
Babbler, darling... you're scaring me!!
Hi Sweetie Dahling..... I'm stunned! I didn't finish yesterday's grid right (just mailed you btw), and I see my player ranking has IMPROVED! I've been falling for ages and now I've gone up 2 points! *shakes head*.... :/
'tis indeed a mystery!
hi Jera! *recovering composure now* : )
How can you tell other than counting all the little names?? I guess it's easier if you're near the top...
well, cos on the list on the left, if you look at the top, your name will be above the list, with where you are in the list. like a news headline.
Babs, 'tis the mystery of babble :) Just be chuffed that this is the one place you seem to get rewarded for trying!
96 words... am I halfway yet?
yes..... I might carry on with the trying and not complete anymore grids!! (yeah right, that'll happen! lol!)
whereami, no! You are over halfway! 145 words today :)
thats good, cause I'm already stumped
hi whereami! *remembers manners* Hi all!! :D
good morning all
whereami, have we told you about the stats breakdown yet? See the panel on the right of your screen, Friends of Babble? At the bottom, Babblers Anonymous, then General, then Stats for today, you'll see a complete breakdown of today's grid. Brandyjack does that for us. : )
Hi whereami
Jera, sorry, went to check mail. Didn't even come close to finishing yesterday. WAs away so we worked on it with paper and pen. Without wonderful clues and second letter list, I'm pretty awful at babble! LOL
got to take my grandaughter to the doc for a check up, maybe things will look different when I return
Excuse me for 10 minutes while I pop the xmas cake in the oven :)
They always do, whereami!
I don't see the stats, do you have to pay and join for it?
More than halfway, whereami... only 145 total today!
later all
Sorry, Lola already said that... I was counting tiny names to get my ranking...
Where, you have to join to get the stats, but you can get the second letter list if you follow babbler's directions.
later, whereami
Anyway, I gotta go get ready for tonight... might pop in later to be helpful... bye all!
Good morning Deutsch -- only 23F in Kelowna this morning.

and Humroid. I'm sure that's a word.
i'm stuck on the first le5 and le6
le6 = bespecticled? I dont' have le5
The first le 5 is an anagram of the second le 5
abnerfritz -- thx -- still need the le5
I'm on those also.
abnerfritz -- got it -- on to the nextm- thx
Pbr: le5 - bespecticle (note tense) and last 2 letters reversed.
For the first le 5, use the l from the top row - it's the same letters as the le5/10 relating to spectacles but last letters are switched around
Thank you Haz! I had found it just as you were typing. with your earlier clue, I should figure out the other one shortly.
There we go.. *duh*
We all have those moments!
help with my last 2 Js? i have: je4 10 je4 9 ji4 9 jo4 9
ji 4/11 rhymes with li 4/6 meaning wilted

j4/11-rymes with l4/6-floppy dont have j5 yet
thanks Cmith and lshult!
J4/9 = to spurn a lover
jo 5/24 slang for coffee plus naval drink
jo5?
ji 4/9 is often heard as ji**ed lover
thanks again cmith!
jo 5/24 is actually a large drinking bowl and it is what I need right now as I am wrapping presents
I read the clue for jo, but the only naval drink that I know is orange juice - that for sure doesn't work☺
tropical alcohol
Joey try a liquor from Jamaica
The naval drink is alcoholic and it rhymes with the slang work for stomach
Minski - thanks again. i was really in trouble cuz i was spelling it joe......
Got it! "sixteen men on a dead man's chest.. YO HO and a bottle of __"
got it!! by the way, my icon is an ne4/4

lshult: Bloody h*** - it looks like the Canadian variety
definately Hawiian
need or6/18? anyone?
or6 = bird or baseball team
or 6/ 18 an American songbird or a member of a Baltimore baseball team
or 6/18 - think Baltimore
The funniest thing happened last night. We had our family Chanukah party. We opened the presents and then started dessert which included a birthday cake for Paigey. My 3 year old neice took her piece of chocolate cake and sat on the floor in the middle of all the chaos to eat it. Paigey wanted to play with the present the 6 year oldwas opening so she crawled right over the 3 year old's piece of chocolate cake to get it. By the time I could grab her cake was ground into her red velveteen pants from the waistband to the ankle. It was the funniest thing. I just had the 6 year old yank off Paige's pants and we put her right back down to play some more in her tights and top. She didn't understand what was so funny. Thinking about it still makes me giggle. Of course the 3 year old was crying because of the loss of her piece of cake in the middle of all the adults giggling. TEE HEE!
never been to Baltimore!!
Poor 6yo but ROFL at Paigey. Miss my kids at the little age.
Ishult - google Baltimore plus baseball
got ty Cmith

Oh Cmith (which I have mis-typed all morning, so sorry)-you are so humble. it's ok, embrace your uber-braininess
smaller - I just want to know what the bl***y words mean.
Cmith - I started a thread in Babanon to post definitions of the weirdo words in - please join in if you'd like! I've got to go through the last few days - including the big one yesterday - and post up the weird ones later!
Hi smaller! (how did I get picked to do the theme) Did I do something wrong?
Can anyone help please .I am missing one of the d words, I have de4/5 5/18 4/8 4/5 4/8 5/18 4/5 5/12 4/5 4/5 5/12 and di4/5 4/6 4/5 I cant see which one i need Thanks
you won it, remember, Sam? hi, by the way : D
potty-mouthed uber-braininess! LOL! I wonder why bl**dy is such a bad word anyway.
Yeh but what did I do to win???
F's done. 22 words to go. gonna take a break, probably til the morning.
Atalante - What was the big one yesterday? I only did about a 100 words and then got overwhelmed. But i still wonder.
wasn't it something like you were the youngest player that day, Sam? something like that, if I recall.....
Sam, I think you won it for being youngest. So, technically you could win EVERYDAY! We should bring this up with Babbler.
Caitlyn you seem to be missing the second last de 5/12 being the plural of the one aboe it (inuits)
it was far too many letters! 400 and something. My brain's already deleted the exact amount - too stressful!
wasn't it 474? *shudders* : /
I'm sorry--I'm new to this. Can y'all tell me how to find stuff out like how many words there are per puzzle? I'm flying blind here...
Atalante, oh I meant what was the big 11-letter word yesterday?
Oh great I thought I did something cool like finish first but no I got picked for being young! *go's to quiet corner and sulks* Anyway whoever picked me thankyou so much! It was amazing!

abner- only because "helful" is such a loose term : )

HeroineCat I would recommend right clicking on the babblers anon link and then clicking on open in a new window so you can leave the window open instead of clicking back and forth.
Hurshy You're the King of the Forrest. Make it take Jedi.
sorry Cmith still cant see it I have two de5/12 are there three of them?
Cmith mmm.. well I won so aparntly not hahahaha! thanks babbler! How do you know who's picking the winner??? because if it's Its the first one to scream then I nominate BABBLER! or if not BABBLER! THEN smaller.
i have a new icon for today actually but i'm at the library instead of home so haven't got it with me and even the king of the forest can't trump dr_god
Hurshy: smaller and I believe Dr_god whould give us extra credit when we put in a REAL word and it doesn't take it. Of course, jedi is a real word
good point, sam. babbler have you ever gotten to pick?
Dr. God needs to fix his dictionary.
Gotta go do more cleaning before the baby wakes up from nap. Will be back later. TTFN.
I've picked a few, Leslie Ann. I've got a nice list on the go, should we run out of ideas! LOL! As if THAT will ever happen! :D

she did notice, Anj. She commented when I knocked her over this afternoon! lol
Er babe, she did! She came back and complained about hit and run, lol!
Evening all :)
Ah, delayed reaction lol : )
*Babs puts up certificate of excellence in her nail bar, steps back and beams with pride* :D:D:D:D
le 6/ 21fitted with optical glass
Hi Yoink!!! ((xx))
Hi yoink! :)
Anj - she had stepped away for breakfast...
le 6/21 - description of one who uses le5/10 above it.
Anj, you missed my post of 1.02pm..... or did you ignore it? :(
Cheers EB - i'm sure she will pounce on me again later... when i'm looking the other way with a coffee and custard tart in my hands... LOL

Anj.... your icon just changed AGAIN!!!
Sorry Babs, yup, one of own..bit of a prototype for some colour blending that paintjob was very reluctant to allow : / ...er, other pic??
you know which one..... the one of you! where'd it go?
sp 6/21 and sp 7/37 please
Ah, so you just had the black & white spiral in the yellow background then??
Hi Lola, Anj. Babs - ((xx))
(I think she means the yellow background with the 'b/w spiral -hypnotizing thing!)
yes, I had that...... but where's the photo of you??? lol!
Smaller - got caught up in the grid and drying my nails sorry I misser you .... vowel movements >>>> very cute (*^_^*)
I took that off. Don't want to scare the kids... : ) Where's yours then???
still here, Anj..... but I switched the colours..... can you still make me out?
...OK, reset that last question to, what did you do to yours lol!
M3 which ones - there are two sets sp 6/ 21alternate past tense of sp 5/12 (rotted as in meat or vegetables or overindulged as in children or pets) sp 7/ 36 past tense of sp 5/12 (coiled onto a spindle or dowel)
sp 6/ 21 3rd person singular past tense (the "plural" one) of sp 5/12 (stops up with a wooden plug) sp 7/ 36 past tense of sp 5/12 (rotted as in meat or vegetables or overindulged as in children or pets)
can someone please give me a clue for the last tu 5/14 please
Hey all, I just have a few to go and they're eluding me; last de 5/12 last fu 4/8 any clues, please?
i'm back and how is "eden" not a word?
Cmith thanks x
chic - you must be de5 if you can't see de5 :)
de 5/12 more mass per unit volume fu 4/8 fools around with you
el/5 12 ???
Hurshy - sorry Hurshy that one doe not make the extra credit list - proper name. I know it is in common use but it never moved into the normal noun group - must be because it comes from a bible or something
how 'bout li5?
I am being de5/12. Blood sugar dropping, need lunch now. It's the first fu 4/8. Thanx, guys.
i don't think it is ONLY proper - people use it to mean any sort of paradise now
hursh...I think it's still a capital E...
*weeps with shame* I've got a di4 that's running me ragged around the grid! I've got the chemistry one & the stuff that goes with chips... anyone help me with the last one?
chic, you defintitely need some fu4/8 if your blood sugar is dropping....
m3, " To omit or slur over (a syllable, for example) in pronunciation" go to www.onelook.com and use the reverse dictionary
oh i still cant get sp 6/21 and sp7/37 its the last two on the sp's
di 4/4 rhymes with young woman
trish, rhymes with not boy but ___
Duh! Thnx, I'll be back after lunch.....
M3, where thread is stored.....
Hi folks!!!! Been away for a while because my pc screen died on me last Monday :(
Hi Sherry.
Bon jour Sherry!
csmith & hurshy, thanks! Also, the shame. I'm done, anyone want a clue...?
Hi Sherry : ) Welcome back. Look on the bright side... you missed yesterday's 474 monster : /
Congrats trishtrash!
smaller great site thanks x
Hi Sherry! Welcome Back! Hi Brandyjack! Thank you SO MUCH for the lists!!!!!!
yeah trish, last fe5
Salut Sherry! :)
Hi Sherry :)
474!!!!!!!!!! Oh, my God!!!!
or, you know, not, as i've pulled a hurshy again
*turns the hose on the lawn, grabs anj and pulls him into the Monday Mud-Wrestle*
Hurshy ... fe + two vowels + consonant
dam, two to go and child need the puta laters!!
Or, if you'd rather have the definition ..."(Scots Law) One who holds a feu" (a feu *what*, though? heh)
yw M3! another good one that hurshy told me about is www.yourdictionary.com click on browse dictionary by letter (green, middle). You can use this listing if you know some of the beginning letters of an oddball word to deduce the rest.
Ooh, the Monday Mud-wrestle! *lola stops looking for words to watch*
smaller - while i'd love to take credit, i don't think that was me...
yknow lola, if anj isnt game.... ;)
LOL! ...beats a snowdrift I guess : ) Hi EvaN : D
evanadine...I tackled Anj into a snowbank earlier on your behalf...he came out looking like Frosty! : D
Hehe....and you said you didn't like me to snog you evaN! ;D
hi sherry -
frosty the snow-anj!
hey, all is fair in love and mud-wrestling!
sorry hurshy. but me wee mind is a steel trap, once it's in there as you (correct or non), ever it shall be.
eva - ROFL!!
that's so funny smaller, my dad always said HIS mind was like a steel trap
Hi Ren : ) Hey, hope this mud has skincare properties : )
oh, and here's today's "photo" icon
*Babs adds mud facials to her growing nail bar business*
me too anj -- could use clear skin on christmas photo-op day!
Ooooh Babbler - me! me! me! I will be so beautiful for this holiday season. Does anyone do hair?
*refresh* for santa babies.... (my friend's baby and his friends)
hurshy- my dad as well. he was so proud of that. little did he realize that yes it's there forever but in being closed, nothing else goes in. like father/like daughter in my case.
30 words to go. *yawn*
Cmith- I can braid!!! I braided Deutsch's the other day. I can do innies and outies.
smaller - yes please. Ah, my hair is long (down to the bottom of my a**, and it akes about 24 hours to braid but I love it)
Cmith, AND if I'm drunk, I can fry your hair with a straightening iron. I have PLENTY of experience with that.
hurshy - in public on the streets of NY!!!!! 8)
you like, ren?
stuck on mu6? any clues?
Smaller - I think we'll skip the iron but I don't mind if you drink and braid. You might need to to do mine.
i luv that photo hurshy!!
Ishult: Didn't this work? mu 6/ 27 a system for betting on the races or a mixed breed dog (drop the double letter) plus you plus an elevated railway
lshult - "the feeling is mu6" (but spelled funny)
Cmith, wise choice. will definitely need to drink so I won't care that my arms will be numb from your FREAKISHLY LONG HAIR!!! speaking of hair, I'm get a cut and a highlight tomorrow. oh I love hair! and I especially love MY hair
I'm not photogenic... : / I speed away from cameras like the proverbial priest from a brothel...
still needing help on li5
smaller - no need to get snarky. We can't all be blessed with enough hair to weave into a full-length dress.
li5 - more li4, in boston
Anj, If you show yours, I'll show my drunk-girl-with-fried-hair photo. : ) "yours" meaning your picture, not the gross "yours"
pbr: li 5/ 14 = li 4/6 (wilted) plus first vowel
*refresh* Not me on the pic but still, I LOVE that one!
...so much for the white eared elephant photo op then... heh heh heh
Anj - I've been silently listening in and you are rotten to the core aren't you??? (smile)
Cmith - i added to your sentence for accuracy, please read.. "We can't all be blessed with enough hair to weave into a full-length dress...for 30 women. 30 LARGE women."
smaller, I would love to see that photo! :) Anj, put it away! :D
csmith -- thx on to the rest
don't say that faerie - he'll put on a photo of the grinch! 8)
smaller - stop it! I am laughing so hard I cannot keep wrapping presents
I am?? : ' (
my hair is pretty long (not to the bottom of my ar 4/4)...my hubby doesn't want me to cut it, but HE'S not the one who has to wash, dry, braid it every day!!
Ren - Anj is just waiting for the opportunity to show it all *you can see it in the eyes*
what is it with guys & long hair??
Eastern - not to mention carrying the extra weight around on the top of the neck - and do not laugh, smaller, it is true.
Csmith, you must have to wear a neck brace. good for you that you can be upright enough to wrap presents. hip hip hooray for Cmith! uber-braininess and uber-neckmuscles
Good question EB....
Smaller, lol!! you're off the planet! :D
eb - my husband's hair is down to his waist - guess who gets to brush it????
cmith...what a great way to lose weight before (or after) the holidays!!!
Lo, mine is only half way down my back : /
Cmith! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! oh our timing was great on that!!!! EB - you and Cmith should start a support group! oh, get it "support" group!!!
rennie - hmmm.... *puts thinking cap on* Him?? tee hee hee!!
We meant what is it with guys and long hair on women...
My hair is just past my shoulders ... does that count?
smaller - seriously, I keep my hair long to get it cut off for wigs for kids with cancer, I get it cut once a year. Guess what I get to do in January - yeah!
Cmith, Awwww that is truly noble! I'm so impressed! Is babbler still here? You should get a babble theme day for that!
cmith...I was thinking of doing the same thing...never done it before, but heck - if it's gonna get chopped off anyway - it might as well be for a VERY good cause!
I used to keep my hair really long, but it's tough to wash it where I am now (water pressure too low). So now it's shoulder length.... :/ I miss my long hair...
lola100 - I absolutely adore men with long hair (as long as they are not used as models on the covers of bodice rippers).
smaller - btw...yer killin' me!! : D
what theme is that, Smaller? spell it out dear, I'm on and off today!
Babbler, I nominate Cmith to have a theme day!!!!
Cmith, lol! Well, Anj's hair is long and it is very sexy ;)
my last BF had really long black hair..... he went for all my shampoos and hair products.... grrrr
I second the motion on the table!!
good afternoon ladies.. <kisses>

Hi scrabblefan :)
hi scrabblefan!
done and done. much quicker than yesterday!
Cmith - you let me know when the big day is, and the theme for that day will be yours! : )
OK, refresh for my negative view : )
hi scrabblefan. : )
Cmith, What would you like? Babbler will update her gorged handbag
Long hair on guys is COOL. Really. I love Tuomas Holopainen's hair...(guy from Nightwish)
ooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! spooooooky!!! :D
Anj - we positively adore it!!
*jumps up and down* but I want to see the PROPER one!!
(that would be a lllaydeee-like tantrum, by the way)
I can't win can I : / ???
Babbler - er, I don't exactly do themes on chat nor do I come onto the chat often. I think smaller needs a theme day and soon (she is kinda sharp in her humor). We might need a "be nice to smaller day". By the way, is she "smaller" because she is height challenged. I wonder.
very nice babs. very sophisticated.
yehIknow
cmith...even if you don't want to change your icon, we can still honor you with an icon theme of your choice on the day you donate your hair!
Anj - your soooooooo cute *wink, wink*
good thinking, EB. that's what we'll do. let us know the date, will you pls, Cmith? :)
Cheers Faerie...it's a terrible pic tho' : /
yeah Anj, you're proper cute, dunno what you're going on about, scaring the kids, etc. utter tosh! :) (said in a most llllaydee-like fashion, of course!)
anj - long hair - YES1
to all the ladies that may not have boyfriends, husbands, lovers, etc.. i have some mistletoe...who wants long, slow tender kisses that last all night and melt like M&M's?
Cmith, no It's YOUR theme day. Howsabout "snowflakes" since that's what you have? "smaller" is from a continual response. i run. but I'm a turtle when i run. and I dropped weight so at races people continually asked me if I was faster b/c of the weight loss (runners = very competitive) so over and over i had to confess "nope just smaller" "nope just smaller" "nope just smaller" I'm actually 5'9"
you a fella then, scrabblefan?
'kay but I'll tell you right now it will be bald things (cue balls and Jean Luc Picard and Yule Brenner and naked chickens)

mmmmmmm...who wants a burrito? chinese food?
Cmith-I fly around sprinkling faerie dust and helping dreams and wishs come true to those who are deserving and worthy and Lola is worthy of the dance of victory
ed 6/ 21plural of ed 5/12 (ancient roman magistates or 5th letter plus sounds like what one does with a rotary telphone)
mubner, for the pr4/5 think 'idiot'. For the pr4/6 change the last letter of the 4/5 to the last vowel :)
<sigh> i give up
faeriekae: would that fairie dust be the wholesome kind or something hallucinagenic
scrabble - you can't just like give up!
mubner, the tu5/16 rhymes with the hu5/18 :)
Wholesome Cmith

the sp5s I have are to ruin, thread holder, to debung a beer keg, to have knocked over
and the last sp6 is an old fashioned past tense

And Congrats Smaller!!!
bravo pbr! thanks ren!
thanks tinkerbell! : ) i always feel so devoid of purpose after finishing a grid. must be why i take hours to finish.
thanks efor. I'll be leaving for holiday soon and so I will probably be away from a computer for a while.
where ya going pbr?
efor thanks so much for the help with le6/21 which i have now got ....its the other 5/10 i need ..my mistake sorry
i have the other le5/10 now thank you
I'm back for the last two; li 5/14 and pr 5/14 (last one)...any clues, please
li5 - add a vowel to li4 before it
Hi, how's everyone doing?
pr5/ 1st three letters are what you do to shave a tree last to letters are british for "good bye" sorry best I could think of
Hi Yoink!!! How was swimming?!!
i just need the first di4/5 ........ i am sure it must be easy but for the life of me i cannot see it HELP PLEASE!
Good thanks Smaller, added 200 metres to the furthest I had swam before
Mo, like an alternate spelling to the thing you turn to change a radio station
Hi Yoink
di4, like what you do with a phone to reach people but 3rd letter is different
Back again : ) Evening all : D
thank you, smaller. You're the tops! All done now! Woot!
Hi Schroeder :)
Hi Anj :)
Way to go chic!!! Hi Anj
woohoo for chic! and congrats to yoink. i swam a mile last night and it nearly killed me. arms sooooooooooo sore.
Hi Yoink, Schroeder : )
smaller thanks for a great clue ....thanks to you i have now finished.....maybe i can get some shuteye now!!!!
good evening, Anj!
Smaller, I don't know yet if I can swim a mile, the session we go to is only an hour long and we are rarely there for the full hour. I might be there soon
hey mo - woohoo for you!
Hi smaller : )
Smaller and Yoink you make me miss my pool :( Walked in the pool house today and was to afraid to stick my hand in to check the thermometer
Session, Yoink? I live in a small area. I had the pool ALL to myself. But it's different here. It's an outside pool warmed by natural hot springs. 0 degrees last night (-18Celcius) so there was "incentive" to NOT GET OUT OF THE POOL. so i swam way more than normal.
Smaller, it's a public pool in town, they have a thing called swim-fit monday, wednesday and friday from 9-10pm where kids aren't allowed and they separate the pool into three wide lanes just for swimming. That's what I go to
Shroeder - You have your own pool?! That's WONDERFUL!!! are you an avid swimmer? Yoink- is it crowded? are there regulars? i miss that about college. we kinda had a club going
hey shro - if cambio is change - then what is cambios?
Smaller, it is reasonably busy, not so much that you are crashing into people though, each lane goes round a certain direction. I guess there are regulars, I go with my sister and her fiancee but it's not so much a social thing, just swim and go
Renfield, step away from the t&c's...don't make us get out the tubey thingy!!!
Yeah Smaller, I love my pool I have been training for my first marathon and was using the pool on my off days until the weather changed....it is solar heated.
Yoink, I think it's my own sickness about the social thing. The grocery store is a social event for me. Even on my 30 mile drive to work, I've trained various regulars to wave at me every morning.. ok yes i have a problem. LOL schroeder!
haha shro - ok i'll step away for a while.... that was close...8)
Smaller, I'm more likely to scowl at people at that time in the morning! :D Schroeder, ok I'm jealous
ren and schro- what's a t&c ?
smaller - do you sign to the people in the cars? i have a fellow that sings to me every morning....
sorry smaller - i mean sing - not sign..... duh
terms and conditions of a sale or purchase
yes schroeder, I'm jealous too. yoink - if we went to the same pool, you would be our "project" for my friend and me. we live for grumpy people
Terms and conditions smaller Yoink, don't be to jealous, like I said it is solar heated so its useless in the winter.
ren, no singing. it's not traffic. this is montana. nooooo traffic. this is driving by people at 70 mph and hoping for the fingers-off-the-steering-wheel acknowledgement. oh life is fun!!!!
Smaller, I'm not so grumpy, just not a morning person.
i like the way you think smaller - the grumpier the person - the more obnoxiously nice we are - right?
LOL smaller - i forgot
yoink, sorry but at 5am it's hard to tell who is grumpy/normal and grumpy/not morning. so it's ALL GOOD! ALL PROJECTS
ren- EXACTLY. but in a good way. a helpful way. It's the challenge that's appealing. not the annoyance factor.
smaller - you are killing me today...you are absolutely hysterical!! I've been trying to do work (conf. calls & the like) as well as babble...but I keep checking back in the log for your comments... Thanks for making me laugh today! : D
Hello. I need help with the 1st two PR 4 words, please.
Schroed and Ren, I don't understand the t&C thing. is that an inside reference for just the two-of-you? do you work in the same field?
Do your worst, my scowl is unshiftable!
Yoink I'm with you, I'm fine in the morning as long as I am left alone :)
smaller - do you drink a lot of coffee?? people never understand how I can be so chipper without caffeine!!
we don't know if we work in the same field smaller - all pucahse orders and invoices had terms and conditions associated w/ the sale or purchase (it's the fine print no one wants to read )and it's left to people like shro and me to read and decipher
ooooooo, Schroed and Yoink! I feel my pollyanna-ness starting to bubble at the challenge! Thanks EB! no coffee for me either. too perky is possible. ...there were a few deaths
didn't mean to ignore others... Hello again all! You are also making me chuckle...maybe it's the delerium of knowing that I'm on vacation after tomorrow too...
So what camp do we fall into? The "start the day with a smile and get it over with" bunch or the "smile - it makes everyone else wonder what's up" crew???
Hiya EasternBlue, vacation...I remember those, I think they were fun, would like to try one again someday... (just a little jealous EB)
the hind ninny?
Anj- definitely Option #2!!! Ren - ?????
Sorry Schroe...didn't mean to make you feel bad! Anj- the smile - it makes people wonder!
rennie - what is the hind ninny??
sorry smaller - that's how i am right now about vacations - like shro - i once had one.......i think - 80
What about option #3: never smile and make everyone wonder what the hell is up with you :D
hello everybody!!!!!!
ok eb - while you're having all kinds of fun away form the office - remember us little people who are left behind...8)
Greetings shorty : ) Yoink, that is just throwing down the gauntlet tho' : )
lol yoink! *but did I write that as part of my cheer-up-yoink plan? hmmmmmm.*
hi shorty!!
Hi Shorty :) I'd possibly go mad without leaving the country at least once a year
If I came to work in the morning with a smile my people would be taking cover thinking I had really lost my mind... Hi Shorty
oh hell yeah, anj! Yoink, line in the sand on that one! game's on, kiddo!
hi shorty - i come to work w/ a smile on my face - and everyone still hides - or shuts their door.
If it's any consolation, I'm actually travelling someplace colder than where I live....
Hi Shorty! give Yoink and Schroed big ol hugs!
ok eb - but i like the cold - it's going up to 70F this weekend
So Anj, which of the 3 options are you? Yoink, you look nice today! : ) Schroeder, I like what you're doing with your hair! : )
EB?!!! why?!!!
smaller - i love the way you always wave to me as you zoom down the highway 8)
Smaller, I look like a sunset.
smaller - my sister lives in Minnysoota....almost all the family will be there...
smaller, deffo a 2 : )
but Yoink - it's a beauty!! Did you take the pix yourself?
Thanks Eastern, yes I did :)
Yoink - and that sunset color(s) really bring out the color (s) of your eyes. well, the good eye anyway.
Yoink - where is it??
woohoo for ANJ!!!!!! EB - LOL, that is how it sounds when they say it!
EB- where is it? do you mean his eye? think the bad keeps popping out. he's so giggly that when he laughs, plooop. out it goes
Smaller - LOL Eastern, it was just outside of Winnipeg this July
...rollin' across the floor to catch more sites??
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
Very pretty Yoink, from your back deck?
ok I have to go now. it's time for me to quit "work". have a lovely evening everyone!!!!
clue for li 5/ 14 please?
ok smaller - wave to me on your way home...8)
Nite smaller, try not to kill anyone with kindness on your way home......
Schroeder, no I was staying with a friend actually, I live in England
Bye Smaller :)
micamonkey add a vowel to your li 4/6 before it
'nite smaller : )

G'night smaller...I'll wave to you on the way home!!

Oops, I see that little flag thingy by your name Yoink, apparently still running a little slow this Monday...lol

Rich...if we can help (not that I'm quite finished yet)...let us know!!
Way to go micamonkey!!!
Well, time for me to turn in. Night all
'Night Yoink... sweet dreams!
nite yoink - swwet dreams -
Good Night Yoink. No nightmares about people smiling at you!!!
im havin trouble with the first fe 5/18 and the fe 6/27
'nite Yoink : D
LOL, no just pleasant dreams of frowning and grumpy people!
fe 6/27...cooking spice
fe 5/18 - i think is a cat related word. or add the top of your eye. fe 6 is an herb (right?)
easternblue - isn't that a vegetable?
Hi everyone!
kakamolaka...I'm pretty sure it's an herb....
hi Poo's Mom!
kakamolaka - your name makes me think of the hawaiian merry christmas - mele kalikimaka
hurshy...I was just singing that song in my head too!!
sorry - did i miss anything? phone call from canada - asking i might say shro about those spanish t&c's translation 8)
Evening Poos : )
wow... never heard that before! I'll have to use that on my upstairs neighbor... he speaks pidgeon (sp?). He'll get a kick outta that
like auntie like niece i guess :)
hi poo's mom - hey hurshy!
hursh...true! : D
hey ren! your fave photo has reappeared :)
kakamolaka...I can too... coo....coo...cooo... .
hee hee
it sure has!!!!! 8)
i believe the language-related word is pidgin. the bird is pigeon.
so kakamolaka's neighbor speaks like a pigeon speaking pidgin, perhaps. :)
Hi Poo"s mom & Hurshy! Spanish speaking Canadians.....and your worried about proper translations eh.....
but the bird speaking the language COULD be pidgeon
hi schroeder. ooh la la.
SNAP, eb!
hurshy - yours was just a bit faster that time!!
that's good to know - now I can find it if it comes up as a babble word...
lol
hursh...a friend of mine used to say "get out of my brain" when we'd do things like that in the past... : D
:D
oops, my dinner should be ready to come out of the oven now. (homemade mac and cheese, yummy!) see y'all later!
ok - like i have this new titanium pencil - and everytime i roll out the lead - the eraser rolls out as well - ...i wonder what i'm doing wrong?
man i am racking my brain on that fe6... vegetable? herb? im lost
hmmm...I'll be right over hursh!
that's funny hurshy! i just had homemade mac and cheese!
fe 6 monarch buttlerflys like this herb - the root is a veggie
so it's an herb AND a veggie! ha!
Rich...herb/spice... do you have the thing that you can drive through mountains to get to the other side (a tubey thing as smaller called it earlier)...it has the same ending...
i have some de** cheese.....but no mac....8( -
kakamolaka - hergie?
awesome eastern! That helped me get it! I am not quite the herb aficiondo, lol.
Homemade mac and cheese, thats brok' da mout (pidgin for tasty)
ha
84 down... a bunch more to go...
i have like 75 to go...
i'm back WITH my mac and cheese
and i wanted to say before, eb - are you sure we're not actually related? lol
Rich - glad I could help... hurshy...I think we may be!!
well, i know i'm descended from Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island - how about you?
My aunt is tracing our lineage...I believe that we go back through Conn....under a "William Leete"...she's trying to find out if we belong to the Mayflower Society!
...he was one of the first gov. of CT.
oooohhhhh only need 15 more! this is the best ive ever done! any help with the ed's?
rich - if you have the el's, just swap the l and the d
i mean the el, not the el's, mistyped
haha, nm on the ed's! as soon as i ask for help i find it... sheesh
hursh....get out of my brain!
ah, rich, you pulled a hurshy then!
what, you were going to give the same clue auntie?
exactly the same!
well, if your brain is a comfortable study painted green, then i am indeed in it. but if i get out, i won't be able to chat.
your brain is where the computer is.
i will have to put a sign on the door that says "EB's Brain"
Issues of intellectual property?
why, hurshy, it's an inviting green just beggin' to keep ya here!!
hi mab!!!
mab...hursh & I keep sayin' the same thing...pretty much at the same time!
mab!!!!
Hi Eastern!
hi mab!
Hi hushy!
hi y'all, i'm new to this. could y'all tell me how to find out how many words each puzzle has, that kind of thing? i'd sure appreciate it!
Hi Rennie!
I'll take it this time kids!
mab - i love your photo -
ok eb - btw - where's our vp?
I don't have any pictures of myself on the computer. I could put up one of my friend Reg on a camel, but that wouldn't be very meaningful.
Welcome HeroineCat... If you are able to 'go pro'...you get a stats panel that shows how many words... Otherwise, most of those who are pro can tell you... (145 today). Also, underneath the 'Friends of Babble' links...there is one for Babbler's Anonymous...if you click on the link -then click on "General" then "Stats Panel"...the 'second letter list' with words & point value is posted by our 'friend' BrandyJack
mab - I like your pix...is it a tapestry or tiles??
It is a textile of some sort.
eb - get out of my brain
rennie - Anj?? dunno...he was here & then fell silent...
eb- did i say it correctly? about the brain thing i mean -
thanks EasternBlue--you were a big help. :)
it is a bit later on the other side of the pond...so he may have gone beddie byes...
*huffily* well i never! husbands just think they can come in and kick you off the computer because they have to get a file for "work"!
He's probably face down on his keyboard.
Sorry folks, lost in music for a bit there... You rang??
H-Cat...not a problem...we've all been a newbie at some point... I forgot to do the standard warning.... "This game may cause a serious addiction"... crew - did I miss anything?? : D
any help with the de 5/12's? I have the one that is a high mass value, or thick skulled
oh, anj, you went for it! last time i saw you you were a negative.
rennie - indeed you did!!
Oops, guess not. Anj this photo does not resemble the other. Can you explain?
de 5/12 - reverse the last 2 letters...
rich - for another, switch the last two letters. for the first one, think the mississippi de5, also a greek letter
just checking on you since madame prez is going to be gone for a while -
could I please get some clues. They must be related but I can't do it! sp6/24 sp6/21 (first one) sp5/12 (second one)
Where has babbler gone!?
hursh - again?? LOL! ; )
sp 6/24 past tense of sp5/12
sp 6/21 plural of sp 5/12
...ug? I'm the same guy, just not such a good pic... Do you prefer my other one??
Babbler is heading to her folks forthe holidays...she may be able to borrow her sister's laptop to chat for a bit but may not be on as much...
sp 5/12 old fashioned past tense of spill
Hi. I'm back again. Does anyone have the last TU 5/14? It's the only T I'm missing. thanks.
ssshhhh..... you haven't seen me.... right?
i like this one vp sir
Babs!! Packing finished??
(madame prez...ok)
tu 5/14 - to remove paint you use tu10, take the first four letters and pluralize
...wine poured? ...nails painted?
I like both photos, but the other is clearer, I guess. You're a bit fuzzy in this, is all.
wow only one word left! i have to go do some work and I will see if i can get it... bb soon!!!
as if, EB!!! still got my last minute stuff to pack, washing up to do, nails to paint...... just on MSN with my sister... and I havent' finished today's grid!! I'll do it after I've washed my hair..... : )
yeah, i'm travelling too, driving all day tomorrow, hope the puzzle will be short so i can do it anyway!
Minski - think Maryland mascot abbreviation, but change the vowel (the big turtle/tortoise thing...)
babbler - now you made me sing, "i'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair..."
hursh - where are you headin'?
my mother-in-law's house, outside chicago
*runs in and tackles anj* is that you in your icon photo??

it is evanadine it is!!!!
*Anj preens*
wow - friend just stopped by w/ 6 lbs of colombian coffee beans....(office gift)
*resists urge to play with hair*
That evana, she certainly knows how to make an entrance.
ick
*Babs runs away before Anj can get her* see y'all later (again) : )
Thanks Hurshy and EB. Got it. Wierd that it will take it plural and not singular but whatever......I've learned not to question the babble gods.

its bitter cold in chicago dress real warm the famous windy city ,is doing her thing
ok babbler - later
wise, minski - you don't want to feel their wrath
yvo, why that was almost like a poem.

Have an extremely jolly holiday, Babbler!!!
so what did you evil babblers do to deserve yesterday's grid? or do I not want to know?
Bye babbler!!
Go ahead, hurshy: "oh, it's a jolly holiday with Mary.."
ohhhhhhhhh, it's a jolly holiday with babbler! babbler makes your heart so light! when the day is grey and ordinary babbler makes the sun shine bright!
Hurshy..thanks for those clues..am lost..have to past tense one meaning 'ruined" but can't seem to work on the sp6/21 plural..any more clues?
mab, you knew!
SNAP hurshy!
helenary, it's the plural of the first sp5. try it again, it may just have glitched on you.
oh no...I was thinking of... have a holly jolly Christmas...and in case you didn't know....
minski - it was me. i'm jonah.
Hi EvaN, yup that's me in a grainy phone camera pic : /

Hurshy..i think i must be missing that first sp5..can i have a clue on that? I have the overflow one.
desperately need to take a shower, but i just got home from the mall and my feet are KILLING me!!
rosalind, the state with all the mormons, do you know about that?
no Hurshy I dont
ros...it's in the US...(western)...Olympics were held there not too long ago...Mormons are big there...
helenary, if you got the 6/24, it's that without the last letter. and the 6/21 is the 6/24 with diff last letter.
ros - maybe you can google it?
hursh...again...same clue!!
i know, eb, it's scary :)
Rosalind The last 4 letters of the PR5 are similar to a book of the old testament the book of RU** just change the last letter.
I will try been stuck for quite a while
good one minski. (does that mean you understood my jonah comment?)
hursh - it was a whale of a good comment!

Voice of reason: oh, Anj, those old cars are cool and all, but they're not safe!
Voice of Anj: ...you can't go that fast between petrol stations over here...you'd make it. Or you would go bankrupt trying...
http://turnerclassic.moviesunl imited.com/browse_list.asp?cid =do&dept=Automobiles&subdept=M y+Classic+Car&media=d
Ok, somewhat comforted.
voice of ren - you only go around once on this great big planet of love (or is that brian setzer?)
...that should have been 'you'd never make it' You would run out of gas first : / Yank Muscle is used to cruise over here... : ) ...most of the time } )
Fast cars are like women; They're only dangerous if you don't know how to handle them ..
anj - the muscle clubs here cruise and do shows - lots of hotties and muscle cars at the shows
Oh brother. Enter the voice of blockheadedness. (teasing, torgone)
*snort*
Just kidding, by the way . . Heh heh . . . . Heh?
Hey, Torgone, could one brew coffee in your icon?
well kids...gotta split... see you later!! Have a lovely evening/night/day...where ever you may be!
nite EB!
bye auntie!!!
hey torg - i've got 6 pounds of fresh colombian coffee beans
Oh! do you have to go? Bye Eastern.
nite eb -
It's neither coffee pot nor gum dispenser; It's a robot puppet called Tom Servo.
*i* thought it was a robot :)
'nite EB : ) Evening Torgone - I like my dangerous curves : D
I'm still at work & hubby is calling telling me he's hungry (he just went grocery shopping...never a good thing to do when you're hungry!!)
Same first name as you.
omg - mst3k
Mind you, I have had a wreck or two in my day . .
anj - e bay has it for $44.99 buy now or 39.99 w/ 4h 44m left on bidding
*snort again* with cars or with women, tor?
I wasn't going to mention your love life, Tor, but maybe you should avoid fast cars. (teasing)
another ebay has it at $14.95 - but still 2 days left to bid
Both, hurshy. Thinks: (How did mad know that?)
i suspected as much.
or "mab"
mad? Freudian slip?
hey, you ever heard that line about, "come on over, baby, i'm wearing nothing but a Freudian slip"
Ren thanks, but I don't trust e-Bay that much. I've had stuff turn up that doesn't match the description... : /
I can't afford OR handle the really fast ones any more. I'm looking for one that fits, looks good, and goes where I want to go.
ok, now really not sure if torgone is talking about cars or women
Torg, built for comfort not for speed?
There are a gazillion women out there like that dear Torgone. You'll find the one for you.
ok - sorry - i may buy it - i'll use my amex and if it's not what it's suppsoe to be - i'll let amex deal w. it -
mab so much more confident in interpreting than hurshy!
WOOOOOOOOO! I am psyched! Finished my first puzzle. Thanks all for the help! Anyone need hints?
oh, btw, mab, i FINALLY got to chat with my kiddo today on IM.
congrats, rich!!!
clue for the fe6 please
Well done Mr. do!!!!
ok rich - how about the mu 6? that's what made me remember the muscle cars
fe6 is an herb/spice, and possibly also vegetable
Okay, let's end this foray into my love-nonlife with a bad joke: A car is just like a woman; No matter how much you need it, on a cold morning, neither one will turn over. *rimshot* Thank Yew! I'm here all week. Try the veal . .
mu6 is like a french version of when two people have ____ feelings for each other.
hurshy, thanks, should have found that one myself, where is the fish?
Oh good news, hurshy. All is well?
*solemnly passes haddock to peri*
ok - like torg are you on vacation this week?
well, in that sense all is well. but meanwhile, at home, he's driving his real mom crazy by being a grouch, because they're going to florida for christmas and he doesn't want to go.
ok all... i must go finish up work. i am leaving in an hour, so i have to actually do something! see you tomorrow (as I have to study for finals, i am going to need a distraction!)
uh oh - someone gtfo
Poor baby!!!!!
as in "got the fish out"
Vacation? Nope. Just can't Babble at work any more..So I have to get in what I can now, instead of making dinner . .
she actually told him to try and find a friend to stay with over Christmas because he's being so unpleasant! can you believe that?
Hi eva! Torgone, do come back. I won't be shrewish any more.
(were we shrewish, mab?)
how do we do? i fear i don't have enough time to conquer this puzzle.
Hi all. Am down to my last five. Need help. Anyone with mu 6/27, jo 5/24 last fe 5/18?
Family life sounds problematic.
oh...ok i'm going to bid on the $14.95 anj - in a couple of day that is - i love to win on e-bay - (hope i do)
well, mab, it's pretty much all his fault. he's very passive-aggressive.
they're actually a very nice family, except when he doesn't get his way!
No worries, mab! Shrew away. I can take a joke. If I ever get offended, you'll know it. I'll say something, THEN leave. I like witty repartee, yours in particular!
Awwww.
there's another $29.99 buy now from a power seller on e-bay
Now if only I could be witty . . .
I'm not shrewish in real life, my mouth is just faster than my discretion.
Ren, looks like both will only ship within the US anyways. Best of luck!! I've bought the one off the Turner site - thanks - owe you one : )
jo 5/24 a drinking bowl, or the amount one drinks from said bowl (rhymes with a place you can air your opinions, or the amount you need to have in a meeting to take a vote)
That one's not showing over here yet...
ok - i think i'll bid - haven't done that in a while - wed is closing day on it.
$29.99 ships world wide from dallas supermannstitch has an e-bay store
....lol! Curse my impetuosity : ) But he's only got one copy though...
looks like he's taking best offer -
t/y hurshy. still need help w/the last fe 5/18 and mu 6/27
fe 5/18 middle 3 letters all vowels mu6 - "the feeling is mu6", spelled funny
thanx again hurshy. down to my last two.
Ren, time to look out the red lipstick and other essential negotiation gear then ; ) lol
mab - Sorry I didn't quite get the gist of your earlier message. I just felt that was enough about me for now; Let's talk about something else.
which two nonny?
I don't remember my last message. Ok. I'm working on the puzzle. Let's talk about horses.
horses, horses, horses, horses
(anybody know what i'm referring to?)
Am sooo studk w/ last pr /14 and un 6/21. Any help?
pr 5/14 add mormon state minus last letter
A friend's sister once tied her horse to the door handle of my '67 Firebird, and it started eating the convertible top!
un 6/21 invisible or hidden
Not quite, hursh . .
CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THAT ONE!!! It's been a long day. (I actually had to work today)
Torgone wanted to change the topic. My icon is of a slightly foreshortened Thoroughbred. They can be gotten for a trice, and sometimes they're very good for riding.
well, tor, i meant the girls more... but it's a really cute moment in sleepless in seattle when meg ryan is driving and singing along to a bad rendition of jingle bells on the radio
poor nonny.
LOVED that movie!!! Still missing that blasted last pr 5/14. Need a clue so I can call it a day.
nonny, 7:38 clue didn't help?
That's so funny torgone. Not very horse-like behavior. Are you sure it wasn't a goat?
ok - we're ready to negotiate
That's how tired I must be. Didn't even see the clue. Now I've got them all and can say THANX MUCH! And I'm out of here. Still have to exercise....or maybe not. Nite all!
nite nonny!
*AHHHH* all clean and relaxed. :D
Well, it was rather large for a goat . . . The top was already in poor shape. Maybe it was looking for some roughage.
Night nonny!
*checks behind evanadine's ears* yup, all squeaky clean!
*drags EvaNadine into mud wrestling pit* : D ha! Ren, be nice now. No nails...just yet... : )
Niters, nonny. hurshy, I have to confess to liking that movie, and some some other romantic "chick flicks" . .
ok - but you guys don't get any mud on me - i'm up town tonight!
well hold the phone then tor! you should have NO problem finding a gal.
awww...my feet are still too sore from shopping to fight back properly!
Hi, bye and good nite to mab, torgone and anj. Sorry didn't get to chat w/any of you tonite. LONG day and it's not done yet. See you all tomorrow!!
Fair dos...we will have to declare it Xmas and have a drink instead : )

Christmas cheer! And Anj is buying!!!! Woooooo hoooooo!
*YAY!! SNOWMAN!!!* :D

'rustles up small, but incredibly well-stocked bar* I recommend the Magners cider, or the Greene King IPA

lol ren!
can people make mine out?
had a highly yummy drink last night! ice cream, stoli vanilla vodka, godiva white chocolate liquor...then chocolate shavings in the shape of a yin-yang on top!
is it a house in the woods w/ a stone fence?
I'll take all the IPA you got, Anj! Well, not all... And I'll repay in kind at the soonest opportunity . . But slice me off a chunk of that hoppy ale, stout yeoman!
lol Ren looks like a church scene hursh...
i better have some shaved ice to cool myslef down...
close enough, ren. :) i think it's a split rail fence and a chapel. but wintry and rural, def!
*pours Torgone flagon of said hoppy ale* Bottoms up! : )
It looks like a rabbit with gigantic antlers charging a birdhouse.
i want some of what torg has had 8)
*produces large stone bottle of Godet's White Chocolate liqueur, a tub of B&J's vanilla ice cream, a bottle of peach voddy and a bar of Galaxy* OK, I can do fancy...
sami likey drinkies that taste like dessert!! :D
lol tor! :)
Where'd you go, mab?
later you fun people - making the drive homeward - and will see if mr ebay has made a decision in my favor 8) still have about 50 words to go -
TTFN ren! That hue looks good on you!
toodles ren!
laters Ren : ) ...and on that note, it's quittin' time here as well *hands keys to bar over to Torgone* Don't drink and drive y'all, byt oif you do... *hands over keys for souped up orange Dodge Charger* Well, it works on tv : ) Read you all tomorrow folks : D
*nuzzle* bye-ya anj!

Goodnight Ms. Poo's Mom, Ma'am.
Can someone help me w/ el5/23
err. . . el5/12
el5/12 is an anagram of the other e5/12
Cheers. . . Thanks a million.
You're welcome a million.
And I'm back. May I please have clues on the two LE5s and the LE6? I can't find them!
hey mab - i just arrived home - we may be alone.....
Ok. Got the 6. Anyone out there with clues for the two LE5s?
de 5/12 anyone? the one between the good palce to eat and the 4/5 that i don't know waht it means!
Third letter of the Greek alphabet
both le 5 are just like le 4 4 just add a vowel in a different place for both
Thanks tons Sue!
y/w mab
Oops...that should be the fourth letter of the greek alphabet...sorry aknitter
I need 2 more to finish can I please have a clue for or 6 18 and un 6 30 please....
Hello to all!
3rd, 4th or 56th ... no matter tabbycat, got it from your greek alphabet clue and not the placement of the letter, TY
tossing the nice kitty a delicious fish
or6 -- bird that is also a baseball team
hello Grey
Hi there, Sue - un6/30 -- not touched
HI WOLFIE!!!! suel or 6/18 = bird or baseball team (i think they were the baltimore or****s
or un6/30 = un + fe4/7
un 60 30 = untouched - un+ also a material most arts & crafts use to make holiday stockings
Hi REN!!! I was on earlier when you you talking car videos and ebay with Anj and others, but had to lurk because of paying attention to Kristianna :)
Thank you Greywoulf and Renfield.
ok - i understand - i'm waiting to hear back from the guy that was taking best offer - i'm currently green w/ envy because anj purchased it already. i love muscle cars and i've seen a couple of the programs on the speed channel - grew up only girl w/ several older cousins who loved to race -guess it stayed w/ me.
im rockin
hey wolfie - are you fini?
ok tap - keep a rockin' ! 8)
Ren -- on seeing your alternate icons earlier I have to say that you are a very striking woman :)
fe 6/27 anyone? can't find that one
fe 6/27, a vegetable, looks like celery.
oh just ignore me, i found it!!!
ty Harp, need to clean my contact lenses
I have 4 left to get, Ren -- a de 4 & 5 combo, an I and a T
it is the name of a vegetable
Do we have a theme for tomorrow?
gee thanks wolfie - 8)
Hi harpjane and aknitter! aknitter -- not ignoring you, busy typing and didn't see your request -- sorry...
i can do the T's hi harp = i don't know about tomorrow
not prob gw, which de are you missing i have them all
ok aknitter - !!!!
it is not often that i can say i have all of something (lol)
aknitter -- I think I am missing the last pair of de4/5 & de5/12 -- have the food store, river end, lairs, and thickheaded ones
perhaps it is the dune and its plural?
ren - I am missing the last tu5/14 And am also missing the im6, for anyone who can help ;)
gw, like the thick one only remove the s for the 4 and move it for the 5
short form of something you clean your paint brushes w/ - the plural
that was it, aknitter!! I could swear I tried it before and got bounced :)
glad you found them
Thank you, ren -- just the im6 to go! are you done, ren?
nope - still have about 40 to go - 8)
the fu's are driving me crazy!!! (i like that the fu's)
mab - how are you doing?
Thanks for asking Ren; I'm just working on my last two.
is that a pix of your horse?
fu4/8 -- gas for the car the remaining three all use fu* as the basis fu6/33 -- past tense w/double cons fu6/30 -- tool used to fill narrow jars w/o spilling (change last letter of the 33) fu4/8 -- plural of fu*
Hello mab -- how are you today? saw you earlier and wanted to chat but had to repay my daughter for good behaviour during the monster yesterday :)
ty gw, i can now stop pulling out my hair
hey tap - are you still rocking?
Good, aknitter -- I hate to think of anyone going bald in that manner ;)
would save me money at the hair dressers
True, but it's so painful -- shaving is much more efficient
much to cold to go without hair, i appreciate your help
too true, aknit -- where are you anyway?
Ren - need any clues yet?
torg must have taken anj's orange charger for a cruise
not yet wolfie - i'm just rolling along 8)
Hi grey, just tuned into the grid to finish and missed your greeting. No, I am sadly horseless.
Yes!! got the im6! I am done!!!! 145 is so much easier to finish than 474!
gw, i am in massachusetts
*claps for GW!!!* :D
still a beautiful horse mab. do you ride?
Me too, aknitter - western Mass.
Hi Bab!!
ok wolfie - way to go!!!!
hey babbler - all set to go?
mab -- plymouth
Hi Babs. Who are the wee elves in your icon?
Hi GW, Ren, Mab, Aknitter! almost, Ren! Just a couple of things to do in the morning before I go (eg put trash out! lol!) I doubt I'll finish this grid, but just popped in for a few, and see you guys, before I turn in. : )
Oh, right aknitter, I think we've had this conversation. It must be lovely out there.
awww, Mab! the wee little santas are my friend's son and his friends! isn't it adorable! :)
much too cold, i don't like the cold
aknit -- our weather is currently comparable -- just check national weather ;D -- I don't know about you, but we aren't getting any snow for Xmas
Yes, babbler, precious. Do you travel far for the holiday? aknitter -- I also loath the cold, and it has been almost monstrous lately.
Bab -- where are you off to?
i would like sunny and in the 80's for christmas. like to be tall and thin to but won't get either i'm afraid!!!
not so far, Mab. Only about 200 miles. I'm going to Manchester, where my family live.
I am only missing 2 words. The Oi 5/12 and the EL 5/12. Please help me finish this grid. THanks.
ed 5/12, drop the s
Have a wonderful holiday Babbler. We'll miss you terribly.
Hi Minski -- for the el5 just swap consonant in the ed5
oi5, minski: past tense of to apply the greasy stuff.
awww, mInksi! : ) Hopefully, I'll be able to borrow my sister's laptop and pop in everyday to chat and copy the grid. I won't be able to play whole puzzles, probably... but you never know!
Thanks GW! Thanks Mab! Mab do you happen to have the flounder? I require it for not finding the Oi.
Unless your sis is a total pain, I should think you'll be fine, Bab!! BTW -- I just checked the schedule of themes and got a laugh from seeing my daughter's badger's in the middle of all the holiday!
I can't see un6/30. any clues for it? ooh Ren! I like the green! : )
This puzzle had so many silly words in it you were probably looking for something odd. Happens to me a lot.
I hope you have Happy Holidays and a Safe and Happy New Year Babs and Everyone Else.
GW - it made me laugh too! :D
un6/30 - not touched
thank you, Minksi. You too!!!! :D xxx
thanks babbler - i'm green w/ envy since anj bought the muscle cars dvds -
Babbler You just gave yourself a clue for it when you said you couldn't see the un6/30.
un 6/30 un+a popular craft fabric
And to you and your family, Minski! May all have a jolly season of miracles.
what muscle cars dvd? is that a film or something?
Minski -- it always throws me off when the various tenses of a 3 letter word are in the grid :)
the first le 5/10 seems to be hiding from me
oops. wrong word. go with the popular craft fabric.
gottit!! I knew it used the f, but couldn't see how! ty :)
1st le5/10 - swap the last two letters of the 2nd 5/10
10 hours of classic muscle cars - i found it on e-bay and i'm waiting to see if the guy will take my offer - noting yet 8( - anj went straight to the source and purchased it
If you have the second le5, aknitter, swap the last two letters.
I've had too much caffeine today. I should go to sleep but I'm not sleepy. Might try reading myself to sleep. At any rate, I'm outty. See y'all around. Have a wonderful, magical holiday. Nighty-night. See the rest of you around.
ty gw, don't think i ever would have found that one
Hello, everyone.
Bye, Minski. Happy Chanukah if we don't see you before!
hi charm
Have a good night, Minksi! And may you and yours have a Magical and Wonderful Holiday Celebration as well!
ack! no wonder! is it a UK thing then? (don't know what muscle cars are) nite nite Minski!!! Happy Hanukkah! :D
Hi Charm.
nite minski - we're doing our channukah family party next week -
hi Charm
Hi Charm!
hi charm!
hello-hello. Won't be staying up long - even after a cuppa, I'm drooping.
Muscle cars are the quintessence of the u.s., Babs.
Too bad we all couldn't have combined our hi's into one BIG post! :D
Back in a couple -- just updated some software and need to reboot the system
All the greetings reminds me of 'Cheers" when Norm walks into the bar!
lol Charm! I hadn't thought of that! :D
LOL charm -
Muscle cars are very fancy U.S. made cars that have been fixed up to go real fast and to look very snazzy. Great big phallic symbols.
ahaa! Mab, I do know them! now what do we call them here....... *trying to remember*..... ?
Muscle motors?
Does anyone know which dictionary Dr. God uses? I'm sure DELT has to be a word...
'Enable' is the dictionary, but I think 'delt' is dealt.
I'm missing one DE4 and just can't find it.
ahaa, looked it up... muscle cars never really made it over here, so there's no UK equivalent. I must have been thinking of rally cars.
How about the little person with a d in front?
Present company excepted of course....... I've always considered muscle cars a small guy's way of compensating for being small all over (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, if you get my meaning). I have an ex-boyfriend who is a perfect example. Anatomically small all over and drove a georgous, expensive muscle car. OK. I'm really going to bed this time. Ni-Ni.
Minksi!! What a note to leave us on! lol!! nite nite, sweetie! sleep well. : )
I'm back
Now you know why he is an ex-boyfriend. OK. OK. Good night.
LOL
minski! wooohhhh - did you really say that?
always leave them laughing, minski! 'nite.
wolfie - cover your eyes -
I read nothing... (*losing fight to keep smirk off face*)
Thanks mab. I looked it up and delt is a slang for deltoid but is usually used pl. I guess with all the muscle car talk I had it on the brain. I'm done!!
*claps for mas!!* : D
Hi, all! Sorry, can't stay too long, cause late nights do not make good early mornings! (just when I could use some time in the virtual jacuzzi, too...) Just a quick question: WHERE is the theme of the day posted? On ezboard? TY in advance!
Congrats, mas!
Good for you mas! Yes, babble is fickle, no delt, but 39 other words in the grid that make no apparent sense.
ok mas!!!
hi JbsAnno, it's posted in my 'handbag' (the person icon)
JB -- it's in Babbler's bio
Thank you all. Couldn't have done it without you.
jb - in babbler's louie vuitton steamer trunk (bio)
lol Ren! what did Smaller call it? Ship's cargo?? lol! :D
Babbler -- that reminds me.... why not create a thread on the ezboard for the themes? That way people can have an easier time requesting themes as well as beign able to maybe post representative images for posterity as well ;)
i think so- a ship's cargo
well, I was thinking of archiving themes on ezboard every few months. Other than that, as I'm on day / night, I can pretty much be caught by everyone who has a theme in mind!! lol! : D
i have this iamge of cranes loading the cargo hold in those big tankers....8)
oooooooo, tthhhhheeeeerrrrre it is! Here I am, 3 months a Babbling idiot (self referral, in no way casting aspersions on any fellow Babblers! 'cause it's idiotic just HOW MUCH TIME I spend doing this) and I never clicked on the person icon. I thought they just referred to gender only. So what if I don't finish? I learned something new today, and that makes it a GOOD day!
hello all. Need help with a few. jo5/24
hey hey doxy!
JB -- your not the only one so don't feel bad -- there have been several others in the past week or so that didn't know to click on the 'purse' either --- they all had pretty similar responses too ;D
Fish, where's the fish? mutter, mutter.... Thanks, GW!
And a joyous good morning to one and all!! Yes , I just finished. After the 470 it's sooo good to have a grid there is actually a realistic chance of finishing
jo 5/24 -- A large drinking bowl or jo + the booze that pirates might put in this large vessel
thank you aknitter
open for clues. any takers?
way to go ish - and good morning to you!
2 left: last ne4 mu6

pu6 - knitted and pu**** as in knit one pu** two
aknitter -- past tense of knitting term -- "knit 1, pu** 2"

ummm..... well..... actually..... I'm about to turn in..... been up all night!
All I can think about now is hot frsh cranberry bread. Boy am i hungry!!
.... but that's normal for me, being an insomniac : )
Grey Woulf & Babbler, am going to try to get some points tonite. Thx guys/or gals for chatting.
is that what the game does to you, or has the game just filled the void?
filled the void, lshult. and provided much merriment too! : )
lshult -- I think the game is good for reinforcing preexisting conditions -- I am a night owl myself, but before Babbel I would turn in around 2ish in the AM =--lately, more often than not, I will crawl into bed around 3:30ish ;D
C ya, folks! <surreptitiously flicking cranberry bread crumbs at departing Babbler & JoJo) Thanks for sharing, GreyWoulf - many thanks to Wife of Woulf! Good night!
I'll raise a glass & a toast to that, but right now need a coffee and something to eat. going to start working also. see you all on the next grid

Babbler ~ have a great holiday with wife and kids. Thx for all your clues/hints.
awww, thanks GW. goodnight you two! lol :D
amidst all of your goodbyes..anyone want to do some clue-ing? need the first tu 4/8, the 6/24 and the last 5-14..
tu4/8 -- tu + note from the musical scale (do, re, mi, **,...)
tu6/24 - double the consonant in the 1st 5/12
sorry, I meant the 5/14 not the 5/12 :)
mab - are you still here?
Thanks, GW...thought I'd monkey typed at least one of those!
last tu5/14 -- shortened term for a standard fluid used for cleaning paintbrushes (sounds like it is a plural)
No prob, Babs1 -- same thing happens to me ALL the time...
first di 4/5?
Thank God I finished this Babblegrid by my 2nd (bucket-sized) cup of tea this morning! What a day! I was in the midst of the normal morning chores, then intending to come downstairs, have breakfast and then make and cook a zillion mince pies and do the remaining pieces to make and cook of one whole and one half of a gingerbread house that I was too tired to do yesterday, when my son informed me there was an elderly gentleman at the door requesting my help. I went down, found an old chap, who was 90 if he was a day, leaning on a walking stick and weighed down with carrier bags in his other hand, asking me to help him get my 71-yr-old neighbour from opposite home. Her back had 'gone' as she got off the bus up the road and round the corner. He'd got her as far as he could (to the corner of our road). Anyway, after sorting all that out, I ate, had a coffee and began on putting up the Xmas decorations on the outside of the house, then the inside ones.
oops..got it.
Jacula..sounds like an adventurous day of being the compassionate neighbor!
Hours later, Other Half arrived home and cooked dinner, bless him! Still intending to try to do at least some of the Xmas cooking and do some of the 13 cards I still had to write letters to go in with, I waved him off to bed and promised to get him up again at 3am. While he was snoring, I decided to finish off the house decorations and do the tree, too, which I had said I to him that I probably would not. I got him up at 3am and said,'I did decorate the tree after all! I've gone for a silver and white theme.' 'A silver and white theme?' he said. 'You mean I lugged all those 'red decs', 'green decs', 'purple dec's and 'mixed decs' boxes down out of the loft for nothing??' To be continued....:-)))
Sounds like an exciting start to the day, Jac :)
So, ren -- have you finished and I missed it, or are you ready for clues?
how about the jo 5-24
wokfie finished some time ago - had to take care of mez- he has a migraine and came in long enough to say bye to babbler and was just about to get my pix for tomorrow while reading the mistress's story - 8)
jo5 - jo + pirate's favorite drink
I got all the Xmas card letters done, too. They're all ready to post. No point in going out to get the morning post with them now though, as there is no longer a morning collection from local postboxes. One collection a day at 5.45pm.:-( Ren - Do you need any clues?
Ok, ren -- just looking out for you -- take good care of your hubby, migraines are definitely no fun, but having someone to help you through them makes the going easier :)
no mistress - i finally completed the grid and i am watching bobby darin's bio
gmorning all
Hello, oggy!
hi oggy
Ren - P gets migraines, too. They're no joke. Only ever had two of those in my life, thank goodness. Both were brought on by prolonged time in front of old 70s computer monitors when the computer firm I worked for at that time, brought them into our offices. No guidelines were then set up in early 70s, I was pregnant, and training every one else to use them, and writing the original 'Idiots Guides To...'.
No, that's a lie, wot I just wrote. About being preggers, I mean. I was preggers in 1983 when the migraines happened. The rest is correct though.
I really do wish we had an edit/delete button on this chat log!
We're off to see UB40 at the Birmingham NEC tonight.
mistress - we have some really good medicine - it just makes it difficult to do things like make hot soup and pour mike from the jug -
Jac -- having that capability would just slow the log down -- just embrace your fallability and fly!
preggers and migraines - no no no - and you can't take anything
wow...should be fun..UB 40 still alive and hopping then?!
aftre lal, that' s waht I du ;D
LOL, Wolfie.:-)
Babs - Yes, UB40 are still alive and definitely kicking!
(Concert tickets are one of my Xmas treats for Paul.)
i think i'm the worst one here - mez sez my brain in on overload
Well have a great one, Jacula! anyone got a ji 4/11?
Back in the 80's I went to a Neil Diamond concert where he decided to sing 'Red, Red Wine' --- it just didn't work, tho the rest of the concert was wonderful :)
Do you know, I've changed this pic of me (from my teens, think I was 15, nearly 16 at time in it) since this morn., when I discovered it on here. Either some weird default is retaining it or else P really likes it and keeps sticking it back on my profile!
it's a very becoming pix mistress -
didn't neil diamond do that song long before ub 40? i agree tho that ub40's version is better! :)
ji4/11 means 'neat, handsome and elegant'. Sounds more like an ape who might take part in a tea-party though, or advertise PG Tips. 'Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot?' 'You hum it, son, and I'll play it!' Sorry! Might be a UK advertisement joke.
i can here their red red wine -
Hi Tbug -- probably -- what most people don't realise about Neil Diamond is that he wrote a lot more songs than he recorded --- for example a significant number of the Monkees songs were written by him
Neil Diamond wrote the song! But even UB40's version is not my fave. It was done in 70s by a Reggae band, Tony Tribe, I think.
my mom still plays her neil diamond and emmy lou lp's - real loud....
I think I know the version you're talking about, Jac and I have to concur...
hi grey, ya i'm thinkin he wrote it... not sure tho. ub-40 has some great re mixes tho! like the elvis song, cant help falling in love w/ you - sounds like a completely different song.
yep- tony tribe - i can hear his version as well -
Does anybody out there need any clues?
Hello everyone -- I see the usual crew is here for the flip!

OMG! I just checked out stuffonmycat.cioom and they have one of the most adorabele pics I have ever seen --- It's a baby in a yellow sleeper sleeping ON an orange cat who is also sleeping --- You HAVE to go check it out!
