Night Blaze.
Bye blaze
Mab...just worked that out and have already e-mailed him....his icon indicates much (maybe!!) something I understand well unfortunately.....Hope he gets back to me...sweetheart
That sweetheart looked all wrong...meant hope i'm wrong bout the icon....
I noticed the icon too, and I too am much too familiar with the feeling. Poor thing.
That's what I understood.... Dear. (Ha ha)
what was on the icon?
Anybody give me hints plz
Mab..tomoro I'm having a soiree (mustn't call it a party!!) with all spanish tapas and good red wine with my friends (includin Anj and Lola...yay) to celebrate my birthday eve. It would be so cool if you could hop in a cab and come. I'll have my laptop on and get Anj and lola and ME to chat a bit so you feel included....Lol
Do you know Joel, nava? We are concerned because he's not been here since November. His icon seems to indicate sadness or misfortune -- it's a cartoon character. Email him if you like.
Oh! How I would love to be there! Do, if it is convenient, pop in.
yes, i know joel. hmm...it's a good idea to email him. thanks
I wonder if his ears are burning with us discussing him?? JOEL...are you out there Hun?
i'm done for the night guys. good luck.
Come home Joel....
Night nava.
Why don't we make todays icon a Joel retrieval day?? I'm going to anyway!!
Good idea. In the meantime, look for his picture on milk cartons: 'have you seen this man?' Something that's done here for missing children.
Right he should remember this crazy bird i stole from him, just incase it's amnesia.....(hopefully in that case he won't remember the wardrobe thing!!)
Mabs, what apair of motherly, cat crazy, caring sharing gals we are!!
We are. We're the best! (ha ha) Lots of parenthetical ha ha's tonight.
Mabs (which is my spanish sister in laws name = Mabel but mabs to me!!) get a cab with retractable wheels and a couple of strong (hunky) rowers and get over here....then there will def be a lotta hahas 2moro nite!!
As it's nearly my birthday....can I put IGLOO....pls
If the Concorde was still flying out of here, I simply pay the ungodly ticket price and show up with the hunky Captain and his co-pilot! But, alas...
151 -- still no long o's, but it's bedtime for me! A demain.
Bon nuit, cybernan.
Hasta manana cybernan que suenas con angelitos xx
Mab if I had left BA when I did..within 4/5 months I could have worked on concorde..... :( silly me....so strange to board an aircraft that smelt like an expensive lounge
had read hadn't...
gracias, tbear
Pls can i put CLIMATE then....??
De nada Cybernan.....Mab I have a few stories re: British Airways Capts and Co-pilots.....HA HA HA HA HA HA
Just as well, tbear, as one of them crashed. And, of course, more importantly one of them crashed filled with wealthy people.
Pilots are probably not as sexy as one thinks, huh? Or are they philanderers with multiple wives in multiple nations?
One little flight would have been cool tho....Ladies and Gentlemen welcome aboard this British Airways Concorde flight to New York,my name is Tbear and you'll find me in the front galley drinking gin...pls feel free to join me at any time during the flight....only happy fun people allowed....like Babblers....lol
It seems like a pilot would be an ideal mate. Steady, confident, intelligent, away enough of the time so they're not in one's hair constantly.
And then there would be all those reunions.... Perfect mate.
Here here Mabs...Concorde flew low right over my head on it's maiden flight in the sixties (I was about 6 or 7) and when one returned to Filton on it's final run, again it flew right over me,very low...I am now slightly older, just 30 odd yrs. So emotional to see her flying for the last time...what idiots not to spend the money and keep her going
I flew on the Concorde once - many years ago - Eddie Murphy and Keith Richards were on the flight. It was very exciting to me.
OOooohh Dianne, you lucky lucky thing.... only been on on the ground....Everybody don't speak to Dianne...lol :)
Dianne I know i should know yr flag but I've not slept much for about 3 days...what is it?
That is something, Dianne. I've never even come close to the craft, although my former sister-in-law flew often between NY and London.
I know I was lucky - we had an around the world ticket and were offered either 1st class to NY or the Concorde - a no-brainer - we went on the Concorde. It is/was a very small plane inside.
tbear - I live in Hong Kong.
Dianne the girls used to tell me it was HELL to do a first class food and beverage service on board and looking at their galley space I can believe it....I would have managed tho!!
Hong Kong of course
Just gunna get some toast and tea...back in 5
tbear - surprised you din't know it - you guys use to own it :)
I seem to recall that Fabienne didn't care much for the experience, but loved that it saved so much time. She worked then for the British-American Chamber of Commerce, which made it effortless to hop aboard the concorde.
Apparentely from the cockpit you could see the curvature of the earth...how cool...ah yes tea and toast....5
Well I figured it was as close as I would ever come to being an astronaut so why not. If the captain hadn't told us what to expect when we broke the sound barrier I don't think I would have noticed.
I think I would be quite scared, not knowing what it was like -- the sounds, sensations. I would definitely do it however.
well u have no chance now mabellina...another of my s-i-ls nicknames....one handed typing cos tea in other hand...mmmm
Well, no, and besides, I am poor now. I do believe, however, there is some plan to tinker with it and eventually fly it again some day, isn't that so?
I have zero words above six letters. This puzzle needs at least one more e. I shouldn't have started.
I hadn't heard that.....but wow if it happens.I'd get my old uniform out and go back as a wrinkly...ooo no,I'd be a crinkly by then...and i'd have to wear flat shoes, after babies I'm allergic to heels and not too happy bout a face full of make-up either....infact forget it my daughters can try it for a laugh
Move over mother (darling) let the young 'uns in
Sizable one! Morning all :)
You are still young. Anyone younger than I is young. This will probably remain true in the unlikely circumstance that I live to be 90. This is why you should always have at least one friend older than you are.
It's big. Hi Sprite! I've only just now found a seven letter word, although I've not been too focussed.
The site is giving me problems. Takes about 10 secs for every new word to be processed :(
Sprite and a happy dutch xmas to you... Mab you're as young as you feel..my grandmother died last year at a permenant 16 (read 89) and mostly I am still a teenager (read 44 and 363 days) :)
Oh my... people who manage to get wild beasts behave again... and they don't take?? Don't think I am gonna like this grid.
Thanx tbear. Xmas is over here, we had a good time with the family. Very cozy :) How was yours?
Babble is entirely too fickle with its re's.
It would have been a Re8, so that hurts ;)
Sprite in Spain, with family and 9 pm on xmas eve got a 24 hr stomach bug after ONE glass of wine....much time spent in the smallest room of the house, but apart from that excellent....
Ah tbear, I am so sorry! That's a bad way to spend any day, and especially one you want to celebrate with your family. ((((tbear))))
Xmas may be technically over but I'm putting my tree up today I always have had a tree on my birthday and this year will be no exception.....big bl....y kid that i am.
It is your birthday? Congratulations! Enjoy your day and make up for Xmas past ;)
Ta for hug...will accept it now I'm not infectious... Wasn't too bad,I'm a trooper...even managed one very weak g&t at 6 on xmas day...kill or cure...it was fine, but with no food inside it went straight to my head...yay
Sprite, thx birthday on Frid, celebrating with soiree 2moro nite(Anj and lola coming too) but tree up today!!
No babbler is a quitter ;) That's the spirit. Hope you feel well again now?
OOoo has everyone got the to6...love apple one?
One of your special candlelit dinners, Hyacinth?
You say To6, I say To6.
This is ugly. 65 words and only 2 7s. None of the bigger ones. I am having a particularly blonde day or this is a nasty grid. Or both.
Candlelit Tapas, spanish omelette, olives, salted almonds, white anchovies, serrano ham, manchego cheese, chorizo, russian potato salad (spanish name for it??) and gorgeous bread of course and washed down with gallons of great Rioja and Torres red, secret bottle of ChatneufduPape for me in the kitchen...surrupticious top-ups..(how mean) ooo and Bouquets (as in Hyacinth) Mab
Iceboy zipped through here with an I 10. I see an I 6.
Pls don't tell Anj and Lola bout the stashed Chateauneuf du Pape.......pls pls
Thank you! That gave me the i10 right away :)
It isn't based on the in6, is it, Sprite? Ooo, sounds lovely!
Yes, it is, actually. Want a def? Or something?
I'd love it!
i10/91: Any of a group of glycoproteins that are produced by different cell types in response to various stimuli, such as exposure to a virus, bacterium, parasite, or other antigen, and that prevent viral replication in newly infected cells and, in some cases, modulate specific cellular functions.
It sounds like a hormone to me :)
sprite don't do defs....give clue to last 4 letters pls
Oh for heaven's sake; one would have to be either a pathologist or you, Sprite, to make that out! Thank you very kindly.
Ends like the love god, only change last letter.
Don't hate me because I googled. That's a wholly recognizable word, actually.
Thx sprite...gotta go now..lack of sleep over 3 days finally caught up with me..eyes swimming..brain fudgy..love and hugs speak later or 2moro..xxxxx
Sorry I gave the def before you posted you wouldn't want one, tbear... and why on earth would I hate you, mab? If I hit a wall, I google. I even use A2Z if all else fails. When I started here, I was told looking op the actual words was considered cheating, all the rest was research ;)
Good night dear tbear....
Mabs....great chat..speak later xx
Sweet dreams, tbear.
Absolutely.
Thanks guys...not against defs etc, just too lazy to look up...lol...hugs all round
*hug for tbear*
It is a bit cheap, but if the word is obscure, as I thought this one was going to be, I have no qualms really about googling. a2z I use extremely rarely, simply because I hate the process of using it.
HI EVERYONE!
Hullo *grin*
Well, good morning Sam!
A2Z is nice for those last nasty words, when your brain feels like it will never come up with another possibility ever. Usually the clues and hints in the chatlog suffice, and of course the stats panel helps.
Hi Sam! And tdf!
Make that ktf.
hi mab! does anyone have a clue for the ten (It's always nice to get the biggies first.)
hi sprite!
Scroll down a little, sam, one has been giving a few minutes ago.
No worries, Sprite. *grin*
If you scroll down a bit, Sam, Sprite gave us the definition.
No wonder I get so many oopses - if I type that badly ;)
I'm sorry, hello ktf!
Hello, Mab. How's tricks?
Tricks are fine, thank you, ktf. And for you?
Oh yeah, not bad. I, erm, googled the 10. I'm too lazy for this game. Also, crap at it. Forgive me?
Note to self: 'remote' is NOT in this grid. Not if you try it once and not if you try it one billion times. So quit!
Now, just 20 more 'long' words to go. Yoink found a G7, and I believe there were some long O's.
You play, you have fun, then you are great at this game, ktf.
Thanks Sprite. *grin* I try...
thanks sprite I got the ten without help from my dad!
I have F7x2, G7, i7, L7. I'll see what I can dig up in the O-area, thanks.
Fabulous Sam! And ktf!
Wow Sam, great going! Say hi to your dad from me too ;)
thanks everyone can I have a clue for the F7s please.
Erm... Lots of trees.
F7/40 woods F7/44 compound, such as a salt or an ester of formic acid, that contains the HCOO- radical
There is also F7: one who makes one kind of decorative item used with pictures. G7: people who put on airs when they do something they think is wonderful.
Nice, mab! Thanks for the 3rd F7.
Got the G7. Thanks, Mab!
LOL! 'You have 150 words left to find' Does that mean I'd better have some breakfast before I continue the hunt?
sounds sensible.
thanks everyone! the only one I can't get is the G7.
Delighting over other's misfortune, Sam
It's a GL, Sam. The root word rhymes with what one might do in a pool; not swim, but *****
hey sam, if I lord something over you, I am g5 ing, this is the who I am (the one doing it).
*armed with breakfast going back to hunt* No, I am not addicted. What gave you that impression?
*straight face* Oh, nothing
And it's not schadenfreude.
*peers* Are you sure?
Morning all - how many words today please
236 words today
263, mari.
yes it is MAB... LOL
LOL Perfectly sure. mab, in Dutch it is 'leedvermaak'. :) Hi mtn!
'morning Steve
morning sprite, mab, sam... everyone
morning Frances
Thanks
Morning! *passes around steaming cups of tea*
thankyou everyone!
*tea gratefully received* slurp slurp
do we have dislexics on? Is it 236 or 263??????
Mab, found the big Os. Singl. and plural, O8/55 - 9/72. Chemical words.
263
Damned science. I be an Arts student, cannae you tell?
Thanks sprite
Thanks Sprite. Oh boy, chemical words.
I'd love to give the def, but the ending of the word is in the def. I'll think of a hint.
No worries, I'll ferret them out. It's very helpful knowing if one is looking for normal or technical. That's how I divide up the world!
Okay, here we go. First part: slippery, combustible, viscous, liquid or liquefiable substance. Nice to rub your loved one with. Then switch last two letters. Second part: order to leave. Last part: french for sea.
Nice one sprite ....got it straight away from that
Sprite - you give the best clues! Thanks!
Don't forget the plural ;) (I often do)
I'm stuck, argh. Never mind.
stats not posted yet by brandy?
Just keep faith, ktf :) Go get yourself a nice cup of tea, come back and before you know it, you'll find a word that will lead you to a number of others.
Haven't looked, mtn.
Don't know, mtn.
thanks sprite! off to have breakfast.
Enjoy, Sam :)
mab, there are even more F7s. Also found F44: prolongated item in music; F44: leader or work crew; F44: sounds like someone who puts things together, but the def is: Any of several frequency regions of relatively great intensity in a sound spectrum, which together determine the characteristic quality of a vowel sound
These are great, Sprite. Such a relief to get them out of the way.
back!
And another GL7, plural to small body surrounded by many nerve fibers, consisting of an anastomosis between fine arterioles and veins. I think we have seen it before in a grid, cause I knew the word, but had to look op its def.
I agree, mab! 3 more 7s and 5 (!) more 8s, and then I'll know I just have to look for manageable words.
s8/50
Owwww, that is almost magic! Just found 2 when I posted last one. i7/40 - 8/55 hell(s)
ah, another grid... looks... challenging!
Ha mrP! It is, at least I think so. Not an easy one, although big.
fell asleep for the last grid and missed out on finishing by 22 words! Not Happy!!
:( Did you dream up some of the missing words?
it was one of those really weirdo dreams... everything seemed real....!! I was married to Harrison Ford, living on a goat farm, and babble was on my fridge monitor... I was trying to download my shopping list but all I was getting was "ma5/12... oops that wasn't a valid word!" Go figure!
S8/45: The gritty coarse particles of wheat left after the finer flour has passed through a bolting machine, used for pasta. (My new word for today, found when looking for broll's 8/50. Didn't find that one yet.)
LMAO! What a wonderful dream.
mab, speed, sprite, et al... how is your day/night going?
Now that I am down to 32, the day is starting to look better ;) This afternoon we will take the kids to a workshop where they can make their own mosaik-animal. Looks like fun too!
Good morning mrpres. My morning is a continuation of last night, so, great, I think.
sprite - the se 8 word was the first one to leap out at me from the grid. It brought back unhappy memories of school dinners!
I got the sa7 from your clue, I think thats what you were hinting at...
Oh that sounds fun! Mosaic is fun. I don't know how you got down to so few words so quickly.
mtn: no, I don't have an Sa8. Thanks for the hint :)
Er, Sa7.
sprite... you are freaky fast!
It was tough going at the beginning, mrP, I am glad I am on a roll now. It's a funny grid. Not easy.
Another couple of biggies: i7/32 - 8/45: any of a class of plastics that because of its *beep* bonding action is capable of conducting electric current. Plus plural. Beeped away the word that is giving away too much.
sa7 - no definition on record, 2 part clue, first part 4 letters, type of hindu clothing, change the last vowel, the other is a type of cooling device that is hand held.
Can't find it yet. Do you have the points count, please? That would help :)
mtnjock - I can't get your clue to work for the sa7. When you say change the last vowel in the hindu clothing, is it to another vowel?
Haz, I only just saw your earlier post. Isn't it great you finally managed to get something good out of that horrible memory? ;)
Yes, Sprite, I appreciated the points more than the pudding!
yes, not an i, but another vowel. rhymes with the pa7 thats a wax.
mtn, I am at a loss. I just looked up my stats panel and I see I have all the biggies now... but no Sa7. Does your Sa7 have a points count? If not, try refresh. It might disappear :(
I cant get the S7!
totally stuck on this one. I don't show a p!!! pa7??
mtn is pulling our leg! LOL - baaaaaad boy!
I have: Se7 : 1. membranes, especially those that line the pericardial, pleural, and peritoneal cavities, enclosing their contents. 2. The chorion of a bird or reptile embryo. (pl) Also St7: minute epidermal pore in a leaf or stem through which gases and water vapor can pass
Thank you Sprite! This has been quite a clue fest; some of these I would not have found. Most.
thanks sprite I hyave written them on paper so my dad can help with them (I can't get them)
sorry have.
I think a lot of them have come up in grids before. Either that or I came across them in another kind of puzzle. You know, some vague feeling that there is a word with that letters... and no clue of the meaning! ;)
Well, It's reassuring to know that you're not carrying ALL that knowledge round in your head.
Sam: for that St7, think the special word for wounds that assemble the wounds of Christ. Some people who believe very strongly get them too, it seems. Then change the last letter.
morning all how many words today please
I just heard on the radio that I am the same age as actor Denzel Washington. Somehow that makes me smile. I have no idea. Happy Birthday Denzel Day!
Haz - can you give us a clue for the Se7. I've been searching and searching but not luck.
can I have some help with the 8s thye only one I have is the Ol/72
263 words today
Just found one Se7 - is there another?
way too many!!! 263
263 words
Not by far, Haz. I have that associative kind of mind. If something rings a bell, I go try and see what might be there in the clutter in my brain. :) I usually look up the defs, so I might learn something in the process.
Sprite, Sam is Jewish. His dad will know what you mean, but this isn't something Jewish kids would likely know.
there is an se 6 and se 8 and sa7
Dianne: no, one Se7. I have 2 Se8's though. Not related.
I don't get it.
se 8/45 - a type of milk pudding. First part of the word is a bit like 'half' but with another vowel, the second part of the word is like a woman's name.
Ah, I am sorry, Sam. And I am wrong too, I realise now. That word is different. Sooooooo sorry! The one I mean is what you get when you have problems with certain bodily functions and they put a hole in you to facilitate things. Sorry again. Painful confusion :)
thanks sprite!
mtnjock, could you please give the points total of that Sa7? I really cannot find it.
They are similar Sprite. Your clue made me smile.
Goes to proof how that mind of mine works, right? LOL Very much working on association. Too much.
Well that is the way our minds work -- I love that. This puzzle is simply amazing for its number of difficult words.
Sam, have you got the st7? It works off st 5/12 which forms the first letters of part of the body that food goes into first.
yep! thanks to sprite (and google)
That's good!
Haz - just got that Se8 - thanks for the help. Did they serve that at your school dinners. Sprite - any clue on the 2nd Se8?
Se6/21: lecture. Se8/50: having that lecturelike quality
It's most often associated with church (se6)
Sprite and Haz - I had the Se6 but now (thanks to you both) I have the Se8. I had no idea that was a word.
No, Dianne, neither had I!
with 40 words 5.33 and 772 points I'm leaving. bye everyone!
At least there's some hope of using it in conversation.
bye speed.... have a good one!
Bye, Sam- have a good day!
Bye Sam!
Once I see an ending like that, I just try it after any word I find in that area, lol. Between my own limited knowledge of english and the peculiarities of the enable dictionary, that seems the best way to go about it.
Sprite - would a person be described as being Se8 or would it describe a setting/situation?
Bye Sam!
That ol word is completely foreign to me -- NEVER would have guessed it.
Dianne: I don't think one would use it for a person. Rather for describing a speech or something like that. But that's just on feel.
Dianne, I think you would apply se8 to a person's way of speaking rather than to them personally.
mab - how could anyone guess a word like that. It's even hard to give a clue for - Unless you think of Fran and Ol***
So you mean that when someone is a bit preachy in the logs then they are being S38 - right?
Yes, - you could say that someone's conversation was se8 in tone.
Right, I think. :) The Ol-word isn't too uncommon in science related lit. The Poly- variant sounds familiar, I think. And I somehow have this association with the latin or greek word for 'little of something' or 'less of something'. Could be completely off target, though.
You haven't anyone in mind, DIanne, have you?
Should I go and hide?
No one in mind - just storing away for an opportunity to let someone know that sound Se8 (I wouldn't even use the word - just the Se8 for it) :)
NO! Sprite, you're a real as5/10 to us all!!!
I am one of a family of teachers, so I am told sometimes my tone tends to be Se8 ;)
No, I think you're just a mine of information and it's great that you're willing to share it with the rest of us.
The sharing is what makes this game so wonderful. And it goes both ways :) Just tell me if I sound too much missknowitall-ic - never mean to sound like that!
Never. the first four letters of the ol word are certainly recognizable, and the second part of the word somewhat less for me. Putting the two together probably wouldn't occur to me.
Sprite - I think that you help us to learn while we are finding the words (which you also help us do).
I really enjoy that aspect of it. First I get to be a real kid, just playing around with letters until some combination all of a sudden becomes a word - and then I grow up a little and find out what it means. Makes every grid a new adventure :D
I think everyone has different ways of sharing information. You tend to go for hard information regarding definitions of words, whereas I would tend to split up the word and walk people through each bit. I think we all need the different elements. So, keep giving out those definitions!
I like your walk-through clues, Haz! They really help.
I frequently learn something new about playing this game when you are here, Sprite. New was of looking, insight into your process; very helpful. And then that crosses over into other thought processes somehow.
mab - the second part of that word should be familiar - Private Pile?
That's so wonderfully put, mab. That is exactly why I find this game so truly worthwile. It isn't just the playing itself, though that is fun. But what you said. I usually carry something with me from the game that enriches other areas of my life :) I learn from you all.
Interesting Haz, Sprite. I think the way that this game helps me to grow is in the various ways of thinking... I don't know quite how to put it into words, but I love this somewhat indefinable aspect.
Okay, mtnjock, come over here and tell us you're sorry! I covered all the S's now and the only SA's are a 5 and a 4. Admit you have been pulling our leg, with that Sa7 and that P7!
Well, I started this session with se8/45 and I've finished with to6/21. I'll be back later to see what other food is lurking! Good to chat and see you later. Mtnjock's word isn't sausage, anyway.....
Yes. The second half of the word if you start with the seventh letter of the alphabet is the name of a rural character in an old sitcom here.
the ol word. Later Haz.
Bye Haz, it was nice playing and chatting with you, as ever :) I need to finish soon, will leave in about 20 minutes for that workshop. Will go hunt for those last elusive ones.
Maybe it is a word that mtn knows well, but isn't accepted by Babble.
Thanks so much Sprite. Must sleep now or I will do what mrpresident did and sleep too late to finish. Have fun with your mosaics.
Could be. Or he might have entered it while there was some refresh problem, and the word might have found its way into the list. Without points, then. Well, if it was a joke, it was a good one. I really looked and looked. And I checked the grid carefully before coming to the conclusion there really wasn't a P. :)
Sleep well, mab, and thanks for your great company :)
Is there really an Er7?
hi all no stats today any idea what the 8/9/&10 words start as.
263 words? oh my. you have to be joking.
this is no joke it is serious wordhunting
This thing is like pulling teeth.
Dianne, lol, I was just thinking 'blood from a stone would be eas... hey, stone! drat, not in there'
I just don't see al those A words. I must be dense.
you and me both, then... I don't have any from the second row A yet... *goes looking*
at6/21 - sounds like something you would take if you need a pick-me-up
Haz for this game I need ath At6 - and a big dose of it:)
Thanks Haz... I have an am 5/14 relating to the membrane we've been seeing a lot in the grid lately.
an4/4 - indigo blue dye an4/4 - Latin 'before' am7/32 - relating to membrane
Thanks Haz too
tyvm Haz.... I should've made my am5 work harder ;)
So, we're on a roll with the a's?!
We're running am4/9.
And even am5/20
I'm alway running am4/9 - but more so today.
The am4/9 is a plural? *is bemused*
I know - have never heard it pluralised, but the grid accepts it! an4/4 - water buffalo an5/10 - more of above
thanks Haz, got them, awful sneaky for such big animals....
It's one of those words where I remember the letters but never the definition!
lol, I will have forgotten the vowel progression by the time we see them again.
Just discovered in7/40 and in8/55. Who'll call the fire brigade?
brilliant clues haz :)
Good - just heading out for a walk with the dog. Keep babbling. The words are there - we just have to find them!
good morning all.
only 199 words to find. !! how is everyone today?

thank you!
Oh man, I miss Brandyjack's second letter count. That was a Godsend. Does anyone have one?
click on http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabbl ersanonymous
copy and paste then :-)
granadan, there is an easier way to get to that site. Look at the right hand of your game, a column of links. Babblers anonymous is the last one. Just click and you are there. Thing is, it is YESTERDAY's puzzle still on the site, not today's :(
HI EVERYONE!

Good morning, when does the 2nd letter chart go up? Is this done by Dr. God or one of us?
that logo is horrible must change.
talking to self
Who's logo, mine?
marc, brandyjack does it and he's no where to be seen.
no my logo.
Speedfreak, are you really 9 years old?
yes
by everyone!
Maybe we should ask Brandyjack for the program so the first one in puts it up.
Good Morning, everyone ... back to see if I'm any smarter now than I was last night. This is going to be tough without Brandyjack's crutch!
Bye Sam if you are still here. What a cool kid for 9 years old. They seem to be groing up faster and faster.
I thought sterno would be a word for sure~ ACK
lian. I did too, but I think Sterno is a brand name
try a different vowel on the end lianakate.
I wonder if Brandyjack is OK. He usually posts the 2nd letter count
Thanks Chris P
thanks , Chris. Much appreciated. I dont use the lists for second letters etc. I just get on and type all i see that I know, monkey a few..and use a few clues I see in the chat. This is why Inever finish..am too impatient..LOL..
Coming right up....
Have 74 to go & completely run out of steam. Need more chocolate!!
shoot, fit. Twould seem that after in use for years and years..they would make it generic..Like, drugs..heh
And of course Brandyjack's stats!!!
And posted......
I am going back home to Mich..on Fri. See my two children, 7 grand children..and 2 great grands..I dont know what I will do for a week in the north..after all the visiting is done..they all WORK..ack. 4 days is plenty.
thanks brandyjack!
brandyjack I think you just made a lot of babblers very happy
thank you brandyjack, I can't finish without you and your list
yeaaaaa, BrandyJack. tyvm
BrandyJack - would you consider marrying me? - you would need to appreciate the more mature woman
My wife might have an opinion of her own. But I'm no spring chicken either....
Aw Shucks worth a try !
Just got back from early morning walk--got caught in the rain, but somehow that's exhilarating! Yeah, kind of crazy in my old age. Now to more fun. How many words today?
Just 263 today munner
Well, there's 17 seven letter words....
Brandyjack -- have you any idea how pleased we are to see you?! Did you have a good holiday season?
So this is a great day with a bigger puzzle even with the 7 letter words :)
Yesterday's was way too small. I got bored and fell asleep before the puzzle reset. 400 channels of tv and nothing to watch. And I read about 350 pages of my books....
All the huzzah's in the last few minutes since the posting have indeed apprised me of everyone's appreciation. And I know how I get without the 2nd letter list......
My Babble goal each day is to get half the words before I look at Brandyjack's list, then to use it to figure out the rest. A really good day is not having to go to a2zwordfinder. Thanks Brandyjack!
afternoon all :) BJ - can I add another huzzah... I like to do as much as I can without help, but I really appreciate your list for the longer puzzles, and when I've got less time... thank you :)
I have almost stopped using wordfinder. I won't use it to complete a puzzle, but I will use it when trying to find a word that is absolutely driving me nuts. Usually a 6 letter word follwing a 4 letter word that I just CANT see in front of my nose. But I have to have the second letter list. Just knowing there is a word is enough to find it sometimes....
add me to the list brandy - i think you are wonderful!!! - let's go to costa rica and surf!!!
I'm freezing my butt off, Costa Rica sounds great to me... As for surfing, broken bones do not entice me. Teasing the sharks sounds great though.....
Add me to your fan club. Thank you Thank you for the list.
I've reached halfway point. Leaving to meet a friend to see "Memoirs of a Geisha". Back later. Good luck to everyone and Happy New Year if I miss some of you in the next few days.
LOL Brandy - teasing sharks it is!!!
And to you Munner. Enjoy the film
if I had a "p", I could make "tampon" several times. it's so quiet this time of day! where is everybody? you have to post something or the poor little chat log gets cold and lonely. brrr. poor little thing. it's ok chat log.
hi smaller
hi doxy!!! and how is your doxy today?
the doxy is doing better than I am. he's sleeping right now.
lucky fella. do you have the ae6?
hey hey smaller - 8)
nope, working backwards.
hey smaller :) ...you looking for work today...?
a lot of people work backwards, must be the new fad! hi ren, did you see my wave? had black ice this morning on the drive, so not a full wave, one finger off the steering wheel wiggle. a good finger though. not the bad finger
i saw the little wiggle - a little wobbly wiggle 8) - we had yellow fog - i swear - yellow fog!!!!
always sherb! well, no work finds me and i kick it to the side. i am giving a tour sometime this morning though. i love tours!
ren- yellow? that doesn't sound healthy. move to montana. lots of clean fresh air here.
Hi all, just stopping by for a bit.....Renfield is that anything like yellow snow
hi schroeder
lol Tink! You should have been here yesterday afternoon, Ren really could have used a mocha.
hi Schro !! :D
LOL shro - no i think it's called = POLLUTION!!!! - it's about 70F and the air is stangnant
Hi Doxy, my little Doxie pup got his first taste of thunder the other night....not looking foward to the next storm this afternoon
hey sherb -how's your book?
ren, are you getting any of the smoke from the fires down there? that would explain the yellow fog.
Hi Smaller, Sherb and Renfield...I hope you all have been staying out of trouble Renfield you don't live near the fire do you?
stangnant means it stinks and it's not moving....8) hi doxy!!
ren - didn't get any reading done yesterday...too busy trying to get smaller fired...
what fire??? - let me look at the news
schroeder, send those storms my way. We haven't had a good storm in weeks. Our snow pack isn't very good yet this year.
my young dachs pup (Blodri) keeps having scatty fits over the snow. She just loves it!
I was reading on msn this morning about some huge fires in northern texas and oklahoma. It's burning up neighborhoods, and they can't get a handle on it. Just wondered if the smoke was filtering down your way.
Tinkerbell, Sherby has been sooooo mean!
hi gran. my doxy loved to play in the snow when he was younger. We just haven't had a lot of snow the past few years.
Snow...I dream of snow, all we have had is rain this season, the ski resorts finally got some on Sunday but all I got was a dusting then more rain :(
Sherb is that true? Have you been picking on Smaller?
doxy and gran, they sound so cute!
yes, schro, but isn't she pretty?
Schro - you should have been here yesterday... there was this guy called Jessie, who claimed he was smaller's boss, but he let her call him rude names... like poopoohead... either way, I don't think smaller was doing a lot of work...
oh great - the residue will come our way when the front pushes through. the fire is nw of me by seveal hundred miles....i guess that's why we all have headches and can't breathe....duh
shhh sherb. pretty people should be seen, not heard
sorry ren
*smiles* ...oh yeah, I am still pretty...
Oh I knew I should have logged in yesterday....I missed everything!!!
have to go for now. will log on later to finish.
bye doxy!
Need a clue for te7/28, Please
later doxy :)
Marc - te7/28 - an island of eastern Indonesia in the northern Moluccas east of northeast Sulawesi. Settled by the Portuguese (1521-1574), it was subjugated by the Dutch in 1683.
Bye Doxie!!
bye doxy!! yep we had a big grass fire here as well - grass fires all over texas....
Thanks Sherb
ar5/12?
smaller - sorry, I'm working backwards...
i'm working on a legal brief - should i play or should i go?????
Just trying new icon
stay! what's with people working backwards? what's the appeal? rebelness?
work... play... work... play... the babbler's dilemma... play... play... play...
oooo cute, gran!
working backwards means that the words you're working on are at the top of the word list, so you don't have to keep scrolling down to check... nifty, heh? :D
Tis my youngest dog - blodri - short for Bloody LOng DRIve
ooooooh! *lightbulb*
Too cute granadan!!
Doesn't work so well for those of us that do the random thing until we have to go to the lists....
Se 8/45, 6/21, and 8/50? Any clues?
the method does have it's drawbacks... but it's good when you need to finish quickly...
i only random for a wee bit. approx 10 minutes. then wimp out and print your list. i know, i know, i'm a babble giant. don't be jealous
hi all, i'm back
goofball - no idea, sorry hi doxy!
Hi Doxy
goofball, the clues are as follow: se8/45 - a type of milk pudding se6/21 - a lecture, think church se8/50 - having a lecture-like quality
Hi Doxy
hi gran, that looks almost like my doxie. Mine is getting gray though.
thank you BJ, never would have got the last 7 without your list
Thanks, I need another clue for the milk pudding se8. Got the other two!
thanks doxy great clues
Good Morning
on the se8 - forget the milk pudding clue. it is a product from wheat used in pasta.
goofball first 4 letters - half - change the last letter second four letters - girls name
goofball - for school dinners, we use to get rice pudding, tapioca, sago, and se******
Now you're talking! Got it. Thank you!
Se8- also called cream of wheat by Americans
Morning Jessie
goofball, I didn't get the pudding clue either.
hi Jessie :D ... how are you today?
I am back at work as you can see... I take it smaller is probably cleaning her oven and watering the plants...
Sherb, is this the Jessie from yesterday?
You mean there is another Jessie? There is only one Jessie1
so Jessie, if you're not smaller's boss, how do you know her?
this little one is just ten months. Ive got a couple of oldies tho (10+11) - no gray on anyone yet though.
This was just before I got deported from Montana
Montana kicked you out?
Schro - yes, this is Jessie from yesterday... part way through our chat, KristinaRose appeared and said that he was HER boss, and she's in California!...
Hi, May I put in my 2 cents worth concerning the se8? I've never heard cream of wheat called that name, nor would I consider it a type of milk pudding. Being both a midwesterner and a southwesterner for lo, MANY years, I've only known the se8 to be a type of flour I buy in the health food store to make pasta and pasta like products. Wonder if that might help those who are still scratching their heads?
No, I met smaller a few weeks ago here on babble. I just like to play a lot...
se8 is a pudding made with milk
no, Jessie you like to pick on people a lot. babble bully I'd say.
ok, but are you really KristinaRose's boss? (...is there another meaning to 'boss'?)
No smaller, I don't like to pick on people a lot, just you...:-}
Aha! I see there are two se8's. That seems to explain a thing or two! LOL Sorry -- Will have to keep looking.
pthhhhhhhbt! shoot, now I have spit on my monitor thingy
Boss has many definitions and I am everybody's boss.
Plebian - it's both, honestly. I use se**** to make pasta, and you can also buy it in the shops here as a tinned milk pudding... don't know who eats the stuff, exactly, cos I've never met anyone who didn't claim to hate it...
sherb, personally, I think any pudding made with se8 would not taste very good.
smaller - do you have a persecution complex? ...or are people just out to get you? :D :D :D
hey hey - i see the big boss man is here again!!!
MATE
Jessie, adding a new name to the long list for you, have you heard of meglomaniac?
Thanks Sherb, Learn something new everytime I Babble! LOL
meglomaniac? as in the Incubus song??
Se****** pudding is lovely! I'm a teacher and we have it at school. Just like rice pudding, a dollop of jam just sets if off. It's probably an English thing.
maureen, you are probably right. We all have different tastes. That's what makes the world go round.
i think i spelled it wrong, rich. megalomaniac, very into power
Maureen - personally, I always used to love tapioca and sago - just like frogspawn! ...great to squeeze it between your teeth...
lol sherb!
doxy1lover, yes I guess so. We give babies rice and se****** pudding when we wean them too.
I don't have a power complex... I just like people doing exactly what I say...:-} Are you an English megalomaniac?
Jessie, maybe I'll be nicer b/c with that kind of bossiness maybe you'll be president and we could all be cabinet members.
well, I do like to be in charge... but I can live with it if people don't always do what I say...
global decisions made in babble chat log
smaller, can't be any worse than where they really are made.
hey, smaller, we couldn't do any worse than what we've already got...
now sherb, don't lie
NICER? What? and ruin it for the rest of us?
sherb and doxy! 2 great minds think alike! jinx-you owe each other a pepsi
Could I have a clue for so 6/18? I have the one that means "maddest"

pbr - fr5/16 - insect poo (really) ...
Bye Smaller!
Bye smaller
doxy - that's no fun :( ...I'm just recovering from a bad cold I've had for two weeks, so I'm having to stay in doors...
sherb -- you made me laugh my *** off!!! thanks.
pbr - thanks, I do like to make people laugh... and sometimes it just happens unintentionally...
st 6/18 (either one) and 8/45?
have 101, but need to go for a few hours, back later
goof - st6/18 - one sounds like more st5/10, and the other sounds like thieved - for the st8, build on this...
bye pbr
later pbr!!!
any clues for the in8 and in10?
doxy - in8 is a "heck" of a word
ty macuser.

goofball, the clues that worked for me: ol8/9 - think kid's show Kukla, Fran and Ol*** + Private Pyle (old TV show)
bye sherb
Bye Sherb, have a good time
oh, and doxy and Schro... knew I'd be in trouble if I started naming names... I'm gone... :D
Bye Shreb
I was typing that before you guys posted... honest... :D
Thank you. Can't say as I know those words!
me neither. the clues helped me though.
oh, and Jessie... I'm hoping to chat some more to you sometime... I like your humour :D bye all :D
We believe you Sherb...
in8: plural of in7...there was a movie, Towering In*****
Hi cybernan
Hi Shroeder -- been here for a while -- just babbling away on my own. Stuck on the last 19, though.
ae 6/21, anyone?
any clues for fe7?
Finished at last - 3598 pts today

Congrats spellit!! I have a long way to go, and a lot of work to do so I may not happen :(

fr6/30 is based on the fr5/18

thanks.......that was right in front of my face too.....jeez!
congrats, spellit!
JJ555 You must be looking into a rather ornate mirror
cybernan - extend the ae4/4 for the ae6/21
doxy - fe7 sounds like "rigid 8"
Thanks, Spellit -- wonder how many of those I've missed?
anyone with a clue for the last fo 6/30?
ty spellit
jj, think what you would wear to a really dressy party, spelled differently
jj - or you could build on your fo4/8..
thanks again
io 7 & 8?

mary...thanks for your clues...sometimes I still can't find the words from the definitions by googling or by using the reverse dicionary...any tips?
io7/32 - add a particle to a Hebrew dry measure (which is in today's puzzle)
babs, I use morewords.com to find a lot of the words.
the particle comes first ... io8 is the plural
hey babs1 and merry 4th day of Christmas to all...you might try www.a2zwordfinder.com and use the scrabble base, it helps me sometimes...
Thanks, norad...I usually use the literati base which does the same function? keying in a few letters at the beginning and seeing what can be made?
don't know the hebrew dry measure!
cybernan - om4/4
how about gl 7/40?
sorry - om4/5
I haven't ever used the literati, but it looks like it is the same base. I only go to a2z when time gets short and I don't have half of the words. As long as I get half I seem to stay pretty much in the middle of the rankings. :)
Got the io's - thanks spellit -- been monkey typing for ages and hadn't come close!
add a word meaning "an age" onto your gl4/7?
or gl7/40 is a small body surrounded by many nerve fibers, consisting of an anastomosis between fine arterioles and veins
Thanks again, spellit
No problem - I'm off to make a cuppa now - back later
se 8/45? -- keep trying the wheat, but of course it isn't there!
cybernan build on your se6/21
Have that one worldly -- it's the se 8/45 that I'm looking for.
wheat one is there, cybernan...check your spelling ;)
sorry cyb milk pudding se 8/45
I think it must be something we don't have in Canada, and the wheat is spelled with an i and an a.
ah -- just got it!
yay cybernan
yes...and the i and the a are used in this word...6th letter and last letter
Don't know how many times I tried to type that -- must have been the dyslexia kicking in!

DONE...anyone need a clue?

Hi everyone!
Hello, Periwinkle!
Found some of the big words today with the help of clues! Up to 121, still have a long way to go though
Hello everyone -- I see there is a whole new group here since I left for lunch!
stuck on my last 4 words -- all a's... am 5/14?
We sneaked in when your back was turned.
Hi all! Haz - can have another clue for the in10? My chemistry degree is currently glaring at me that I can't find it despite your fine glycoprotein clue.
smaller 1st 5 letters mean between
cyber the def would give it, work down to the bottom left corner
If you take the word in5/10 that means to bury, or Latin between, add fe4/7 - frondlike leaved plant with o before the last letter, you should have it.
am + shortened version of St. N....who comes at Christmas
Thankyou davetins...... do you have a clue for the am7 as well?
am 7...same beginning as the one you finished with little piece you might write someone without the first consonant

Haz you gave a clue earlier for in7 & 8 -call the fire brigade. Sounds like it should be glaringly obvious, but I just can't spot it?
Hi Jessie! btw, your icon is kinda menacing. oh, so then it fits you. hahahhahaha. kidding! yes the tour is over. the main guy ladeled on the cologne and he likes gold. he had gold rings (yes plural, he had several), watches (yes plural again), necklaces and he likes rifles. - had about 10 of them in his HUGE pick-up. gotta love montana
anytime Babs1
Hi folks! :) And congrats Cybernan!!!
Ishult think Towering XXXX film
i'm with you, ish! no firebrigade computing here!
in7 and 8 (plural): think of the movie, Towering In*****
They are words for fire. In plus plant (fe4/7) then vowel, then plural
thanks, davetins!
Babs1 - think of a movie not that long ago: Towering In***** (think really big fire)
got it, thanks. said it was obvious!!
Was it a case of ar5/10, I wonder?
Anyone else need help, before I leave to dismantle the tree?
Kelstar, did you get the ol's??
cybernan- the other as6/18 besides the plural of the 5?
What? No grisly in the back of the truck?
Cybernan: about in10, what was your first clue?
too many clues needed, maybe the best clue is to return to life without babble! hm.m.m.m
as 6: to the rear of the ship
ship going backwards smaller
it's GRIZZLy, you city boy! nope, the grizzly was driving. not only golden, smelly and ammo-ed but also hairy.
thanks davetins! didn't have that one (though obvious for ship-fan me....)! :)
in 10: first half is a prefix meaning between -- it is a drug used to treat HIV
cybernan and davetins, thanks! i should have learned in the past to put an "a" in front of other words. that's why there are always so many a's
we all do it, smaller.......I kept missing the suffix that means like all day.
in 10: between + iron prefix + off's opposite
Thanks for the spelling lesson; I'll keep in mind the ZZ. I knew I misspelled it but I didn't care. Bears don't usually care if it's the French pronunciation or the Italian.
in10 ... the drug they give to AIDS patients.
Thanks cybernan! that clue was crystal clear! :)
should say latin root for iron
jessie, actually you should know all about the tour because you were "right there"
LOL jessie
Cyber: I'm French so I found right away since it's the French for 'iron'.
Yes, that was me, the short-stubby-bald headed-nose picking-loud mouth in the back.
so it is, Sherry!
Sherry, how do you say "grizzly" in French?
jessie- ah, so it was you that left the crusties in my company touring rig
Sherry -- When does the weather start to warm up in Normandy? We're planning on starting out in Amsterdam, then Brussels, then LeHavre where we will rent a car and tour Normandy and Brittany (only part of France we haven't seen) and are currently trying to figure out the best time frame weatherwise.
No, the crusties were KristinaRose's
no, she's a lady and politely eats them only boys are messy
Why not eat them, the have protein, carbs and digest easily.
Cybernan: Normandy is never warm! I went on holiday there a couple of summers ago and it was impossible to wear anything sleeveless. But I'll fish for information about that. Hang around!
icky! you win! i was even grossing myself out with that last one of mine. you win. you win. no more boogie. i fold. mental picture so gross!
Cybernan: http://voyage-bons-p lans.aufeminin.com/w/sejour/vo yages/meteo/191/normandie.html
but who am i to judge. ok, just did a quick test. actually it's not that bad. tastes like chicken KIDDING!
Hey, I have a 20 month old nephew. I learned not to pay too much attention to what comes out of his body. After all, it's just a body and we all have one.
Merci! Sherry....... As I recall it was cold everywhere 2 years ago. We spent May in Tuscany, the Cote d'Azure and Provence -- needed jackets the whole time. When we arrived in the UK in June we enjoyed the only 3 weeks without rain they had all summer.
Have you noticed that whenever we can't make out what something tastes like, we always associate it with Chicken?
De rien Cybernan! :)
BTW, do you have long nails or the short nail-biting?
I'm fired. I don't have to answer that
ok now it's weird, sorry all light and breezy here please, jessie I'm going back to the grid
I'm going back to work...
Anyone need a clue before I leave?
a clue for the niner please cybernan :)
ol 9/72 (plural of ol 8): ol + first person singular + to leave + french sea
Thanx Cybernan! Got it!
Sherry is your first language French or English?
Cybernan: my mother tongue is French.
Wow! -- I wouldn't dream of attempting this game in French! -- although I do keep seeing (and trying) French words at times.
au revoir -- back at the flip:)
anyone for the te7/28?
te 7/28: a bird + past tense of a word for consume
Bird (te 4/4) consumed food
I've studied English at university. I'm reading English all the time and I've got English-speaking friends. I'm writing a book in English as well! :)
See ya Cybernan!

Sorry Rich, haven't got it yet!

I'm off too! Going to write! I'll be back later on when the toffee in my brain has melted! C ya later folks! :)
Rich - st8 -- cancer drug; but.... past tense of steal - minus e + what you mix with gin, change first letter to l

hurshy - hello! Between morewords and a2z, I usually finish the puzzle if I have time!
hi there jbsanno!
Hello! Just changed my icon from the Badger to, well, refresh & see!
I've got the puzzle on paper, and have to go fix dinner for hubby and the cats. Hopefully, I won't get the food mixed up! I'll enter my words later, see you then!
BTW, mrpresident, love the icon! I have that on my screensaver at work. Poor kitty!
i'm at 180 and need to call it quits for today...catch you tomorow.
macuser - if you still need that so 6/18, it's a male offspring plus a picnic ruining insect
tyvm Hurshy! Great clue :)
yw
ah...done. now that my christmas road trip is finally over, i can build my babble ranking back up!
This is my first time playing this game. What's a good score for this puzzle?
There are 263 words in today's grid
So you judge based on how many of the possible words you get, not points?
Your points are based on your word values
Hiya folks. Long but happy day in the non-Babbling world. Have arrived here with 215 words done on paper. 48 words to find. How is everyone?
HI Jac! I have 60 words to go. I'm thinking I'm out of it tody cuz they're not kicking in. These last 100 (now60) are taking its toll.
Help please with the ot5 and ot6 and cl5
ot5 & 6 are a freshwater mammal (Tarka) and its plural.
Thanx 4 your concern jacula, I've actually finished!!!! At 25 minutes past 2 in the morning, on Thursday December 29.......(took me long enough!!!!) I ended up using a2z and jotting my last 80 words down on paper before entering them.... No wonder it took me so long....
cl5 is the plural of cl4 (blood cl**.)
Hi, Jacula., thanks for help with the O's. Can't believe I didn't find them myslef
How about some help w/ am 7/32 and sa 5/10. ANYONE???
Jacula, I already had the cl/5 *blushing deep red*
Hiya Nonny, Peri & Moveiman. Hope you all had a good Christmas? Movieman - we watched The 40-year-old Virgin, Minority Report and the new version of War Of The Worlds over Xmas. What about you? (I've still got 'It's A Wonderful Life' on standby!)
Jacula, I watched Sahara and Batman Begins.
am7/32 - Any of a group of vertebrates that have an amnion during embryonic development, including reptiles, birds, and mammals. Don't have the sa5/10 yet. Sorry!
Still waiting for clues/hints for am 7/32 & sa 5/10.....Need help, BIG TIME!!!
Nonny - not seen either of those films yet, even though my local video shop now know that I have more film archives and sometimes new films than they do! LOL.
Any clues for re6/18?
re6/18 'rhyme & re****'.
Thank you Jacula! I hate it when they turn out to be words I acutally know!
There again, you might not get that since it's the title of one of my books! LOL. Another clue - someone may ask you to see re**** in an argument.
now i can't even spell "actually" right
Hiya jacula..... I watched my DVDs of "The Descent2, (scary stuff!!), & "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory"...... Did U spot the Kubrick reference in "Charlie" at all?
Hiya jacula..... I watched my DVDs of "The Descent", (scary stuff!!), & "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory"...... Did U spot the Kubrick reference in "Charlie" at all?
Movieman - is that the new (J. Depp) version of charlie you are talking about? If so, I've not seen it yet.
It certainly is, so I won't spoil it for you by going into detail.....
Any help w/ ar 5/12 & ar 6/21? Also at 6/21?
nonny-- at 6/21 lack of muscle tone
I can't stand Tom Cruise, I find him scary, in fact call him 'Creepy Cruise'. Odd thing was, I didn't know my Mum felt the same until she said it (the exact words I've said) a couple of days ago. My other half now thinks this anti-Cruise thing must be genetic. LOL. I can enjoy his fillms, but , well...
at6/21 - you might ask for this with a gin.
Jacula, does your dislike of Mr. Cruise have anything to do with the fact that he's a Scientologist?
ar5/12 and its plural 6/21 are a knight's light helmet. Think Somerset word 'ar' and then add what you might have done had you got together with others. You would have m** them. If you're in UK, then just think of another word for the police. The M**.
Movieman - actually, it does. But not because of that fact so much as the avidness with which he seems to pursue it. It seems like a kind of autisic thing to do, to me. But, before I knew about the Scientology, I saw a film (not Breathless, I think) in which he played a real creep with his then lover, the readhead. Scared the shit out of me because I knew he meant it!
Oops! I just got beeped on BABBLE for typing ess aitch eye tee.
Ah, well, I suppose I have to go now..... It's nearly 3:00am and I should really have been in bed at least 3 hours ago, but this Babbling lark can really take a while...... So I'll sign off now..... Byyyyeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
Come back soon, Movieman, and remind me which film with Creepy Cruise and Nicole Kidman I wads trying to recall! In the meantime, sleep well.x
Jacula, did you ever figure out sa 5/10? How about li 6/18?
li6/18 is one who li4/4's.
Help - I can't find the 1st or 2nd Mo4/5. I have the sickness/single one word. Any clues, please.
sa5/10 is an anagram of 'soars'.
1st mo4/5 - not stereo.
mistress - you have mail 8)
Jac - that's the one I have. What about the 2nd Mo4?
2nd mo4/5 - a speck of dust poetically. Failing that, the end of a witch's spelll, 'so mo** it be!'
Sounds like the body of water around a castle but is spelled differently.
Jac - I have that word for the 3rd Mo 4/5.
I don't have all the 'mo's' myself yet.
Evening all ... Jacula -- Was the Cruise/Kidman movie you're referring to called Eyes Wide Shut? I thought that one was kind of creepy :)
hello and hail to all.... could I get a clue for the am 7 please with (()) and XXX on top ?? thanks
that one was creepy, cathy
Eyes wide shut was not only creepy... but grossly stupid....
Blaze - am plus word for opposite of day BUT add another vowel in the middle of it.
I have returned, jacula, and have just checked out Mr. Cruise's filmography on the imdb, and by my reckoning he and Ms. Kidman (is she the redhead you were referring to?) starred together in only 3 films, "Day's of Thunder", "Far and Away" & "Eyes Wide Shut"..... Were any of these the film you were looking for?
Cathy - THANK YOU! That was the one. Been trying to think of it all holiday weekend.
Any clues out there for Fa5/16?
hmm, blaze i agree with you there as well
You're welcome ... I thought that might be it. :)
Thanks for all the film clues, folks. Know know why I thought he was creepy etc.
Thank you for the am clue..... the Far and away movie was a good one.... if my memory can serve me anymore
Mind you, "Eyes Wide Shut" was okay if you like the sight of a nude Ms. Kidman (like me) lol....
fa 5/16 what you might turn on to cool yourself + signal for help minus the first consonant
fa5/16 - pl. of of fa 4. A kind of extended air-mover or devotee of a group or singer, etc. It has a surprised kind of ending - a round vowel.
Babs & Jac - now I know it's time to quit - I have that I meant Fr5/16. My eyes are shot and my typing stinks :)
Movieman - now you just sound like my other half, or a typical man, re Ms. Kidman. I was talking about thwe psychological side of things!
Well then Dianne, maybe it's time to sit awhile and play the guitar with those fr's on it...
Alright, so the orgy scene was a bit creepy.....
Jac - I got the Mo4 I was looking for - to lose one's outer covering.
that's ok dianne i needed it! the fr is fr + a naughty word
Dianne - why not play us one of my acoustic favourites? Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well Part II?
Babs and Leslie - didn't even know that was a word - thanks for thehelp.
LOL, Movieman. Orgies are only okay if everyone in them wants to be in them.
*settling back now to listen to Dianne playing guitar.*
Finished - phew. Anyone need anything before I go and get some work done?
fe 7/44?
YES, DIANNE! f/mAC'S 'oH wELL' PART ii.
How about 1n 10/91?
oh never mind i got the fe. Nonny, the in 10 is a in 5/10 plus a 5-letter word for convict, change the third letter
Right then, I'm REALLY going now....... (Unless someone else wants me to fill them in on some more movie info......) No.......? Then I shall see you all tomorrow......(not literally of course, unless we all got webcams, lol) Byyyyeeeeeee!!!!!
Leslie - sorry I didn't clue you - I was away from the computer for a couple of minutes (and I just had a good clue to give you....)
IN10/91 - Any of a group of glycoproteins that are produced by different cell types in response to various stimuli, such as exposure to a virus, bacterium, parasite, or other antigen, and that prevent viral replication in newly infected cells and, in some cases, modulate specific cellular functions.
give it for good measure! i was trying to think of something like, when 2 grapes love each other very much...
Leslie - I like your better.
Dianne - could you please stop nattering and play Oh Well Pt II, pretty please?
thanks for the in 10... how could I miss that one... I had to take it for a year.....
fleetwood mac.... please.... where can I down that for free.....???
37 wors left to find here, but at 3.47am I don't care that much if I find them or if I don't.
iTunes is only 99cents US. almost free. And the artists get paid.
Yes, Thanx. Your clues are great Jacula and LeslieAnn. Down to my last 20.............Still going......I feel like the bunny in the battery commercial............
Blaze - if you ezmail me through Bab Anon, I can send you that tracks you want.
Nonn has now become 'Durcell'. Lol.
How about se 8/45? Se 8/50?
Duracell, I meant.
se8/45 what you make pasta from.
Not got those 'se's' yet. Sorry.
Se50 - very preachy.
Never made pasta..... Have no idea where this is going, SORRY!
thank you for the se's Jac..., how do I email you on Babanon ??
I still have 137 words to go.... ROFLOL
thanks for the In10 LeslieAnn
Thanks for the very preachy clue, Di. Got that now. Nonny - I'm a great pasta cook but haven't got that clue either, so, don't worry!
Nonny - first half of the word is like a big trailer truck but change the last vowel - second half is what actors have to learn but change the last vowel.
Blaze - you click on me and then 'reply', I think.
Pasta flour, you know, durum se******
Hiya BJ - just realised you finally rolled in again. I would just (hic!) like to thank you (hic!) for all the help you given all of us (hic!) over the months and years (hic!). Big hug to you! Sorry I'm a pit piss*d now but it IS Xmas! LOL.
jac... I got the email off.... just email be back through bab anon.... thanks
Um, Jacs, Xmas was 3 days ago......
and to clarify, because this has caused confusion before, that jac is drunk, not mad. :)
BJ - (hic)m- It lasts a week here in UK now. We g on (hic) until 1st Jan. (hic!!)
What? 12 days is too much for you? For shame.....
BJ where those Cape Breton pictures from you or swimbo.... they are great...
How can the vamp possibly be 'drunk' when most of the world has been eating GARLIC today??? GRRR! LOL.
Cape B pics were from SWMBO, others were from BJ. Great pics, both!
36 words to find here, btw.
I still have 166 to find.... Was surprised more people didn't post pics....
J - I think more people didn't post pics because you can't do it from your own computer on there. I keep meaning to get photobucket to do it, but haven't, yet. I guess others are the same.
I learned about photobucket from my daughter 5 mins before I posted those..... too easy......
BJ - re your sis-in-law's pics - this is a question me and my other half want to know... the trays of things on the snow (well, that's what they look like) on your sis-in-law's pics - what ARE they?
BJ - re photobucket - I don't believe you really jumped right in like that, given your pc awareness??
Any help w/ so 5/16????
The caption says it all. Buckeye's. Peanut butter center with chocolate coating, look like a big chestnut. 1000 times the calories of a chestnut though.....
nonny, a compound word... i don't want to go to work, it is so*** away (or add a letter to your so 4/7)
Sorry,BJ. Here in UK we needed a translation or buckeyes. We understand now.
As for photobucket, the Web has many utilities and nifty ideas. But until I posted those pics on Babblers Anon, I had no use for that kind of service. While I keep up with a lot of techno-babble, it tends to be in my line of work. Stuff like SIP, H.323, H.265, VoIP, IP conferencing, IM etc. Utilities that appeal to John Q. Public simply aren't arcane enough for me. I knew I wanted a service like photobucket, just didn't know the name of the service I was going to use.
As for the lat 34 words I have left to find - can I e bothered?
And just what else were you planning on doing for the next hour and 40 minutes.....
Curl up to sleep next to my sleeping giant?
I am down to 120 words tofind... and they are going to stay lost... I need a snack before the flip.... see you all then.... and I will look forany fleetwood mac musci that I may have.....
Earplugs not needed right now, so maybe right time to snuggle down?
Thanx again LA. Am down to last 4 and they're all st.... WISH ME LUCK!!!!
Better let the young'un get his sleep now Jacs, he probably has to work in the morning.....
hello there!
I'm missing the first st6/18.
It's like the one above it with a vowel. I'm missing the one below it. Any help there?
And Hi to you Temple Owl. Just starting???
THink it was blaze's clue for that one earlier. LIke the semi-**** punctuation mark. It's the base for the 8 that follows.....
may i have a clue for the te7, please? and the ta6 that does not have all of the criations to it?
BJ - add a vowel to the st5/10 above it.
whoops, nonny - yes - i was doing puzzle on papaer - house guest, did not want to be rude...
Got it. Thanks Nonny and Diane.
It's the one above it with the past tense of eat....
Can't seem to find the st 8/45 and 7/32. HELP PLEASE!!!! I'm getting tired and want to go to bed.... It's tough to be growing old.....
Well, I don't know exactly what you mean by criations, but both ta6's are based on the ta4. The first one is plural of one who does the verb of ta4. The second is the most ta4.
Nonny - for the 1st half think of a nick name for a Russian vodka and leave off the last vowel. For the 2nd part think what goes with gin and leave off the first letter.
For the st7/32, it's the st5 above with a three letter ending that begins with the last letter of the 5. Someone said the paste tense of eaten is the three letter ending.
Found the st 7/32. Need st 8/45.
Thanx Diane. You too BrandyJack even though I got it by myself first. ;-P
If you got the st6 above it, add the last two letters of the usual mixer for gin. Other wise take the name used for your intestines (no, not guts) replace the first letter with st to get the st6/18 and go from there.
I've FINISHED!!! YEA ME!!!! I'm doing my get-to-go-to-bed dance!!!!
Always glad to stick my half pence in....
Careful with that jubilant dancing. Could hurt yourself at your age.....
I'm stuck in a bucket of mud, please help.....need second fr 6/30 and the next one after it... the fr 5/16. Any clues?
2nd Fr6/30 - plural of the Fr5/18.
Thanks, Dianne, I looked right over that one...
Mubner - so did I - it was the last word that I got to finish.
Good evening need some help on the a's ae6/21
Marc - take the ae 4/4 and add the last 2 letter of the mixer that goes with gin.
thanks Diane
Clues for the ro words?
ro - what you do to turkey and the plural
Listening to 'Come' by Fleetwood Mac right now.
ro - a pot ro--- is always good for dinner.
Thank you for the ro's. Now, I need the second re 6/21. I have the tool. Thanks!
relaid
the a's are killing me any clue on am7/32
Am plus word that is opposite of da BUT add a vowel in the middle of the word.
should say opposite of day (not da).
think placental fluid.
Although I just got it from Dianne's clue.... thanx...
At this point in the game I go right for the simple clues.
and that's the only Am I have. invisible suckers....
Thanks all the placenta fluid really helped.
BJ - think when "things run a---" and the plural.
I am definitely not used to using that letter..... thanks....
I'm giving up on the r's. May I have a clue for the af 5?
Golfer's yell..........
I had a lot of trouble with the A's. What else do you need?
af 5/16? ar 5/12? ar 6/21? Thank you.
Af5 - A plus what golfers yell.
Ar5/12 - part of the old pick-up line "haven't we --- before" and for the 6/21 make it plural.
Could have sworn I tried those before....
Got em. Thanks!
This is payback time for me for all the help everyone always gives to me :)
Hi guys Thanx so much for the lists you give brandyjack. They keep me from tearing out my hair. :)
can i please have a clue for fo 7 44?
fo7/44 golfers yell + another word for guy
plant supervisor.
2nd Fo7/44 - drop the 2nd vowel of the 1st 7 and add a consonant at the end.
missy me thank you. i still need the other two also.
3rd Fo7 - same first 5 letters as the 2nd then add 2 consonants.
thank you soo much diann
SueL - you are very welcome.
4 + another word for "life partner" 4 + another word for "guy" + what you place golf ball on, (just first letter)
