Happy New Puzzle!!!
Good morning everyone!
morning jb
JB!?! What are you doing up so late? (*HUG*)
And the hunt can start anew... welcome all :)
Here we go!
Scuse me guys while I do the puzzle...I'm no good unless I concentrate :)
Hi, GW! I'm on vacation, remember? Sorry you arent! Anyway, I was madly typing what words I had in the previous puzzle, but just didn't finish in time. {HUG} back!
S6 x 2
Oh, I forgot, JB -- sorry you didn't get to finish
300
S6 x 3 + S7/32
Yowie!! 300 today !!
Good lord 300???? ouch
Yikes! I might not finish this one, even though I'm not working at work, I am "working " at home - tossing out & shredding lots of old files and outdated papers.
300! Waahhhhh!
s7/32 + s8/45
Nice size for a leisure day... which I don't have today ;)
nite / morning all - i'm going to sleep now....8)
Me either, sprite -- I am due at work in eight hours
nite ren- c u this evening
Hi Everyone -- this one should take a while!
G'nite ren! (*HUG*) Sleep Well
Good night, ren
p7/32
okay why won't they let me put in "lert"...I'm a lert...we need more lerts
Hm, shouldn't I be listed in the stats for yesterday's puzzle? I finished, really I did!
hey cyber
jane, i'm never listed, i'm not sure how that works
harp -- it takes some time for all the stats to be collated -- check back in a few mins
d8/50
i 8/45
d7/32
I'm all for lerts!
JB hehe
At least one of my favorite T6/18's is in the grid :)
de6/21
WOW! BrandyJack, are you on now? Hey everybody - the clue list is already up on babblersanonymous! THANKS!!!
Hi ya, p 8/45 and d 8/50 this is a big one!
I'm here.....
Hiya Chic :)
I make a paper copy with the grid so I can take it with me for "downtime", then I type in all the words at once.
BTW -- zubie says Hi to everyone - I got an e-mail from her yesterday -- she is doing great and her ankle seems to be recovering just fine -- she misses the grid but will be back soon :)
all hail brandyjack- who makes the impossible- a little easier- thank you brandyjack
gw you should have said hi for zubie at 12:01. :)
Let me say THANKS again, BJack - the puzzle is much more fun for me with having the stats list. And I'm liking the Farscape thing you have going on!
s9/84
OK. There I am on the stats list. I was just being impatient!
i8/45
P10/84 + P11/104. Had to be this way :)
I'd also like to add my thanks to Brandyjack :)
D8/45 - D9/60
Hi brandyjack...thanx
k 8/60
S9/84
Hello everyone! Looks difficult enough...
Hi mrP! Not, it isn't, just jump in. Lots and lots of words!
Oh... you are tempting me sprite!!
I do, and shamelessly so :) This is FUN!
come on mr. president... all the cool kids are doing it
Good grief, 300 words. I'm not starting yet, because I keep staring at the grid and not seeing any words. I'll be better after sleep! Good night, good hunting (GW! HUG), good luck everyone!
hi all. I don't need anyone to tempt me. The word grids call out to me, even when I'm sleeping.
Night JB, hi doxy.
nite jb- enjoy your vacation
hey doxy
My S9 has a related P8.
G'nite JB -- Sweet Dreams!
Hi doxy -- how's your holidays? mrp -- come on in, the word's are fine -- not to hard, not too soft -- they're just riight! ;)
hi everyone, I have actually got bronchitis right now. Missed work all week. Didn't think new moms with babies would appreciate me there.
aaawwww.... OK, catch me if I fall!!
Had i9/54 been mentioned yet? Plural to i8/40.
(*arms held wide for mrp*)
doxy- hope you are feeling better
Come to the edge. - It's too high Come to the edge. - We might fall. Come to the edge! And they came and he pushed and they flew
Sorry to hear that, doxy -- (*Hug*)
I would love to feel better. Today i actually feel worse. They don't give you antibiotics for bronchitis anymore. Just treat with prednisone. Started that today.
sprite, I love that poem.
doxy, prendnisone is nasty! I was on heaps of that for about 9 months!
((((doxy)))) We'll send you lots and lots of babble get well energy, that will work better than antibiotics, promise ;)
my son left today to go back to the air force also. Probably won't see him for at least 2 years.
doxy- i didn't know that- sorry at least you'll eat plenty :)
the bronchitis flairs up my asthma, too. So when I start coughing, I don't stop. I had this for 2 months last year.
doxy- that's so sad- i wish him a safe trip and a speedy return
i have to come here. I feel so much better just talking to all of you. sometimes I am here and just watching the log while I word search.
The poem is from Christopher Logue, I love it too. And so appropriate for mrP today ;) Sorry to hear that, doxy... tough times for you. Another hug to get you going ((((doxy))))
sprite -- got the 10 & 11! thanks
Hello to all... back for more abuse from the babble grid...LOL
Hi Blaze. just about to dip my toe in ... grey says the water is fine!
abuse is about right, but it's self abuse. *from a fellow self abuser*
Hi Blaze, LOL! K7/44-8/60 x 2
Hi Blaze! I got an e-mail for zubie and she asked me to say Hi to you from her :) (*hug*)
(I found K words! I found K words! And all by myself!)
How is our Zubie and where is she ???
woo hoo for sprite.
seriously, sprite. i don't think i could think of 30 K words if i tried. :)
doxy -- I am glad to know that I am a part of something which helps you feel better (*HUG*)
Woulf, you're welcome. Beautiful, aren't they? Very common words!
can i buy an a please?
way to go on the k's sprite
forget the A can I buy a ticket to Austrailia...?? what was I thinking
lol Spirte and cool!
Zubie is on vacation -- I am not sure exactly where -- but she is doing well -- her ankle is doing much better, but she doesn't have good web access so she misses the grid horribly --- she may try to log on in the next day or so but will deifinitely be cback when vacation is over :)
LeslieAnn, I simply hate K-words. Never seem to be able to find them. I am really baffled I found some!
hey blaze- lol
come on down Blaze... lots of room at our place!!
Say hi to zubie from me, Woulf :)
Oh that would be so lovely.... if only the grid did not follow me.... LOL
well, it's a lot more common, but i have much more trouble with words that start with vowels than consonants. don't know why. yesterday's puzzle took forever for me
a2z might be my friend with the k's.. (sshhh... I don't cheat!!!)
Blaze, wouldn't that be fun, being together in a room, each with own laptop, and typing away at the grid?
I'm saving for a trip to Okinawa. I think Australia would be more fun, though
mrp - using all tools available to you to solve a problem is not cheating ;)
MRP I do not believe that a2z is cheating it is just refreshing the memory....LOl
There are a D6 and a D7 that don't seem to like me one bit :P
When I started on this game, I was told that looking up the actual words was cheating. ALL the rest is research!
my father-in-law reckons I don't have to use it... cause I am so smart and know everything!! ;))
d 6 think lots of sand
ruthy cool icon is that an anne gheddes ??
E8/40 - E9/54 Wow, finding K-words AND vowel-biggies... guess this is my day after all ;) ruthy: thanks, got that one. There are two D-words related to 'not liking'.
hi blaze not sure one of my children put it on there
or think AWOL
20 8 letter words!!! gotta be a record morning all
Hi onyx! Jump in, this is a great grid!
k words is where i'm starting
LOL... in for some self abuse, onyx, or are they your strong suit?
I wonder if those 30 k words are in real counting or metric counting.... 30 is a lot of k words
Blaze... how much is that in euro's?
first word i saw, so that's where i make my stand till i can't stand it
ack i only have 11 k words presently and there's 30? ack! ack! ack!
the K's have the market for sure...
have 21 k's -- sure don't know where the other 9 are!
For the K-hunters: there is a water cousin of mine hiding there.K6/33. :D Half way - what a grid!
14 k's now :)
Only 2 more K's... but they are making themselves invisible whenever I look their way.
i do not think i drank enough koffee for htis one...
*pours Blaze some koffee and hands some karamel kookies and khips*
oh sprite thanK you very very Much...
Get out! It's not possible that there are 30 K words here! I'm in denial already.
Yeah, K's down!!! This is a first. I always seem to be looking for K's hours after finishing the rest of the grid.
mab I think we're all "k" ing right now :)
Hi there mab - I found them, so you won't have any trouble.
Brava Sprite!!
Wow Sprite, cool! ^5
way to go sprite -- still have 4 to find
This is going to be fun. I'm up for the absurd!
sprite, i am very impressed. *bowing to the "k" master*
Hang on, ladies, you're almost there! :)
R9/60, chemical word. white to yellowish powder isolated from the roots of certain species of Asian shrubs and used as a sedative and an antihypertensive Though it sounds more like decorating the room again ;)
7 k's to go and my little one wants some cuddles, see y'all later
Have fun cuddling, onyx, cu later :)
I loved it when my little ones wanted to cuddle.... I especially love it when my 15 month ould grand daughter wants to cuddle and read..
enjoy your cuddles, onyx!
Thanx Sprite. got it!
166 - time to consult brandjack's list!
Even my 9 yo son still wants cuddles... guess we are just a very cuddly family ;) My love and I have been married for almost 10 years now and we are still very much into cuddling. Well, there are worse things to be addicted to, right? (No, NOT babbling!)
May grab a p 7/32 as well -- we may all need one before this is over!
You're lucky your little boy still allows cuddles. He sounds like quite a dear little character -- bright, empathic, willing to cuddle...
Just tore open a can of S-biggies: use Sp5/12 to build on for S7/36, 7/32 and 8/45. Not related: Sp8/65
the K's are done. YEAH!!!
My Tim is a wonderful kid. And everything that makes him so special, is what makes him vulnerable to the world. He gets hurt on a daily basis and there is nothing anyone can do about that... except cuddling a lot, of course.
doxy, WTG!
Yes.... as the arm and elbow go down.... the K's have landed in the grey pond of the grid...
Yey doxy! I see that babble is slinging ethnic slurs (1) again. How I hate those words.
And Blaze too! Feels great, doesn't it? It is so good to have those b@stard Ks out of the way.
doxy cool ^5
missy, I just love that icon. I can relate very well to it
Don't think I have that one yet, then, mab, or I may not have recognised it. It would be nice to have those words disabled in the enable dictionary, wouldn't it.
It's an sp4, and yes, i think we don't need them at all.
Ah, indeed, didn't have it. I have a blind spot for those words, it seems. Not too bad a thing, now I come to think about it.
Sweet! the K's are grey!
yeah GW
yeah GW .... the old grey grid aint' what she used to be......%%%%% sing along.....
whoa, i got the 11
Great going, Woulf :)
pr 11/104 *faints*
Nice, spatial! 43 to go and the kids are awaking... what are the odds I get done before breakfast? (less than zero)
Must toddle off to bed now....see you tomorrow ... only 190 words to go....
Sleep well and sweet dreams, Blaze!
Time for me to go-- I have only 149 to go -- still missing 2 nines --- be back later after work (*Hugs for all*) (((*Extra for everyone who wants one*))) G'nite all :D
Night GW.
Almost half way then, Woulf! Big hug for you, hope you have a nice working day.
nite blaze and gw
i'm off to try and sleep. See you all in the morning.
Night doxy!
nite doxy
everyone have a good night or day.
Hunting for E's i got stuck. Finally found the missing one: E6/33: a paper money, brass coin, and monetary unit of Equatorial Guinea, equal to 100 centimos: replaced the peseta in 1973. Sounds a bit like a musical instrument starting U ;)
Hi guys!
Hey hugs! *hugs hugs*
:o) Hi Sprite! How's it going?
Great! 12 to go and running on empty, but have a wonderful time :D This is such a nice grid. Big, but manageable.
OMG... already? Geez, I missed alot
*have = having*
are all the biggies found already?
Yeah, I am sorry, we have left nothing new to discover for you. But you will fun finding them anyway :)
*insert 'have' where applicable* Sorry for all the typo's.
wow, there's so many
Yay the meanie K's are behind me!
WTG Missy! With 5667 points and 5.41 average word length I bid you farewell for now, kids need attention. Good hunting to you all, and have a great day/night/whatever.

can I have some clue for the 9s please, Havn't got a single one pleeease!
de 9/60 - people who leave the army without permission
thanks haz!
re 9/60 A white to yellowish powder isolated from the roots of certain species of rauwolfia and used as a sedative and an antihypertensive.
I've only just started so others will be able to give more - that 9 should also give you two 8's.
Sam put that definition in your search engine and the word should come up for re9/60
Thanks MissyMe!
yw :)
speedfreak sam ready for another? sp9/84 resembles your backbone
in6/18 - to put something in in8/45 - one who puts something in in9/54 - people who put things in

niters tbear Happy birthday again!

Ignore that last one! It's the s on the bottom
speedfreak sam et9/54 To protract for an indefinite period (use s instead of z)

rolin re8/45 to declare untrue again
re5/10 - to lay the table again?
woohoo... its a re...working of a de6
yup beebee...*s*
Okay, I have to go. I'm about to tackle something even more daunting than a 300 word grid. My husband bought a VCR/DVD yesterday in the sales. I have the job of connecting it and tuning etc. This is (a) because he has gone to work and (b) because he refuses to read instructions. I'll report back on progress, provided the men in white coats haven't carried me off....
lol Haz, good luck ;)
Haz lol and good luck. Cya later
bye haz
39 words left- i'm off to take a shower and start my day- and all i want to do is go to sleep- the price we pay to babble. lol- hope everyone has a wonderful day and good luck babbling
hi all! just had a break to have a phone call now lets get some 8s any clues please???
Hi Speed! de8/50: think of a place with lots of sand...and add past participle ending (ending for regular verbs in the past tense, for instance).
thanks hurshy anymore???
Pi8/45: that one is not easy unless you read beer cans...You can google this for a pi 7 and then pluralize for the pi 8: A light, golden lager having a strong flavor of hops.
re 8/45: take your de 6/21 meaning 'to say no' and add 're' before.
Hi Sam, how are you today.? I'm not Babbling just wanted to say "Hello"to you.(and all you other Babblers of course, but Sam is my special one!!!)
hi jaydee doing well and have lots of good clues from hurshy but the beer could use some help from dad!
in 6/18: easy...look at you r keyboard...a key at the bottom of the numbers on the right...that's your in6. Pluralize for in 7 and add past participle ending for in 8. And I got no more 8s!
Hi Jaydee!
Hi Sherry!
hurshy can I have a clue for the de6 which means to say no please???
It's Sherry, actually...lol! de6: To declare untrue; contradict. den..
speedfreak sam kn/60 something on which one prays
speedfreak sam thats a kn8/60
Thanks Frances!
Sherry You're welcome
sorry... SHERRY. LOL!
ke8/60 birds of prey
thanks sherry have not pretended to know what that means but it's a word hurrah!
thanks frances!
speedfreak sam You're welcome
You're welcome Speed!
bye all my hour on the computer is up back later this afternoon see ya!
See ya Speedfreak Sam! :)
Good morning everyone. What a beautiful puzzle! I'm trying to get halfway before getting on with the rest of life this morning. Need 8 more words to do that, but have the 9's, 10 & 11 thanks to great clues.
Hi Eva! I'd like the clues for the 10 and the 11 please! :)
po8/45 breastplate of the armour of a horse
pl po8/45 breastplate of the armour of a horse
Thanks Frances! That sounds like French actually!
Sherry- the 10 means to set one's fate in advance and is a pr word. The 11 is the plural.
Thanks Eva! Got them!
yr welcome. Isn't it satisfying to see those 2 checkmarks appear?
ooooooo definitely! When I'm short on time, I'm going for the points anyway!
ha, to make the 10 word i want i need an m so i'm clearly looking in the wrong place..
20 8 letter words?!!
miametro-for the 10 & 11 look at my clue to sherry just a few minutes ago.
yeah, i tried that. i can't figure it out tho, absolutely stupid today.
okay-over halfway, so time to rest the back and get on with things. see you all later.
mia... think of a 'de' word for fate, then change the last letter to a vowel. Then build on the front of it for your pr, and plural.
mia-not stupid at all- the patterns sometimes just won't appear. If you think that something was fated to happen all along you might say it was "pr_________". The first syllable is the one that means to happen before, the second one sounds like what gathers under your bed, but change the second vowel for another.
yes, but that word to me needs an m :/
less doom, more something good that was meant to happen...
it sounds like you're thinking of the ermine one...there's another....when you are going somewhere the place you are headed for is your de_________.
ah, finally found it :) thanks!
TA DA!!
Hi all, having trouble finding the po8,, googled the def but couldn't find it
sorry periwinkle-don't have it either
po 7: (Anc. Armor) The breastplate of the armor of a horse.
Have fun playing with BABBLE !!
peri-if you google the whole thing it is there. The root is from the french for chest(breast)..i.e. p____ine
Po + to indicate a direction with your finger (minus the 'n') + ancient artefact (minus the ‘ic’) then plural.
that mess was ... minus the ic
Found the first third, still 199 to go but I'm off! See ya later! :)
finally found the po7 and 8 using Google, (eleventh listing)
235 to find. gonna be a long day, lol
morning, everyone!
i'm back for a few- any help with the sp4/9
derogatory term for latin american (sounds like clean... sp** & span)
beebee not a nice word!
frances and trish- t/y never would have gotten that
beebee No - not nice is it?
frances- no it is not a nice word- but, it seems like we get alot of ugly words in the grids
beebee Some that truly surprise me when others you think should be there, aren't.
i hate to be a pain, but these sp's are killing me- any clue for the 8/50? please and t/y
I don't have that one yet, either beebee... *eyes everyone else hopefully*
frances- i know exactly what you mean- it's crazy
Think of something you nail your letters on - small
huh? i'm confused
Sorry I gave you the 8/65
oh- i thought i had finally gone insane- thanks anyway frances :)
sp8/45 Think of those with the gift of the gab
what about the last 2 sp 6/21's- i can't move on until i get these and i don't know any sp words
which sp is it working from?
Bottom
beebee sp6: think of some thing you might vent
frances t/y- but i have no idea
beebee... sounds like the ringing of a bell, spelled differently, with an s at the front. Or think of a line of patter, a fast, slick speech...
beebee From German or Yiddish meaning to talk a lot (I think)
it's a bodypart, working from the top sp. (the venting one)
angel- the only thing i can think of is anger- is that it lol- i guess i'm just tired so i can't think- i knew i shouldn't have stayed up allnight :)
yes, beebee, go with that.
beebee sp6/21 you should have one
oh- i have that one- i need the last 2 6/21's- the one before the 8/50 and the one after- but, thanks anyway
i still can't find the sp8's! driving me nuts
Hello, everyone - earlier babblers will recall that I was tackling the job of installing a new VCR/DVD. I am flushed with triumph!
yea haz
sorry, beebee, I may have confused you (I'm not working off Brandyjack's list) ... the sp6/21 I gave you was for the speech ... the sp6/21 the others are giving you is for the body part. *shuts up and goes away*
all hail the conquering Haz !
trish- it's fine- i appreciate you trying :)
There was a point where I could have done with another pair of hands, but improvisation saved the day!
miametro- did you get the sp8/50 yet? cause, i don't want to be the only one who doesn't know lol
lol, thanks beebee ... I thought you were still trying for the sp8 that builds off the speech sp6/21.
nope, nor the sp8 65!
beebee sp8/50 is one of two muscles at the back of the neck
ok- i finally see- what everyone is talking about now- i'm slow this morning- miametro the 8/65 builds from the 1st 5/12
Well done beebee so please you got it
frances- T/Y T/Y T/Y
nope, i still can't get those last three letters!
beebee You're welcome
MIAMETRO- beebee growls *ers*
i'm obviously not working off the right 5/12. the first 5/12 i have is the long bone down your back.
need help with the 2nd te 7/ 28, please
miametro There is one before that sharp pointy rhing
mia- s+ pumpkin p**+the straight cons.= the first sp5/12 from there build a 7/36 7/32 8/45 6/21
AH, FINALLY!!! -collapses- as soon as you said that i understood the talking clues, lol. still need the 8 /50 tho, lol
gnubee- 7/28 means Of or relating to the earth; earthly make it plural for the 8/40
t/y, beebee
hi everone!
mia- one look the clue francis gave about the neck muscles
hi sam
there's a clock that says one minute before the puzzle changes...
mia- did you get it? go to www.onelook.com and click on reverse dictionary and put in" one of two muscles at the back of the neck" and you'll get the sp8/50
anglesong don't listen to it it does'nt mean it.
angel- refresh
can I have some help with the Us please.
sam- if you have to pee- you need to us* the bathroom but make the word plural
thanks got that one but the other one isn't there!
uk4/9 abbr for a stringed instrument
Sam, think of a slang term for bombs (very big ones)... then take the first letter off.
uk4/9 pl
sam- there is only 1 us word- what other word do you need
the Uk word
sam- when you throw up - you p*** add an s on the end
thanks got it from monkey typing that is before beebee's clue because I not that stupid. well I guess I prbobly am but...well...never mind!
I still don't get the talking clues.
thanks! trish! bee bee! and frances!
what talking clues???
sam- you not stupid- it's the easy words that always hide
beebee use sp6/21 without one of the vowels and a a latin sounding ending
speedfreak sam You're welcome. Nice to see you back
thanks!
Angel, your 5/12 that means secret agents... add the 'straight consonant' after the 'e'
angel- look at the clue i posted a 6:44
any clue for the de7/36 please

dave- de hate strongly- i de**** bills
davetins de7/36 hate

that's a nice logo!
that's our big fat cat suleiman (weighs about 17lbs and is very friendly) sitting on one of the babies chairs
finally found the 8/50
wtg angel :)
bye all won't be back till toni'te see ya! (especially andrea)
Hi ABK n Sam just logged in
bye, I'm off now too...
any clues for ke8?
birds of prey, angel
I'm drawing a blank, trish
do you remember a book/film about a boy and the wild bird he tamed, named Ke* ? that's the first part of the word, and the type of bird you're looking for.
trish--- is it a 7/44? if so, I've found it.
yes, plural for the 8 :)
good morning everyone!!
hi efor :)
Good morning, everyone!
hi Jera!
Hi Jera
Some very interesting words today... I hate it when the big ones are just repetitives, variations on the same word...
I'm hiding out in the cold computer room while the kids watch Little Einsteins... we all got the flu for Christmas! So this puzzle should be interesting as I feel like total crap...
brrr, Jera, I hope you're bundled up under several sweaters!
Does anyone have the te8 (and probably the te7, if it's a plural) ?
Does anyone have hints for the P10 and 11?
hi
Maybe it's the fever, but not too bad today
The p 10 and 11 are to do with a belief that the future is decided already. Think of a pop group 'de****y's Child' and build on that
Yay, thank you!
You're welcome!
pr10+11 builds off a de7/32, meaning fate, or something foreseen. (you'll want to end it in a 'y' .. change this to a vowel). Then plural, and build from the front to make your pr11.
meh, too slow... never mind. Haz, you give good hints... have you got the te8? It's hiding from me
Just looking for it now, trishtrash.
trish, the te7/8 are soup serving bowls
I thought it was something to do with the earth
Got it now. French for earth plus ne, then plural
ty doxy, you sent me in the right direction :) & thanks Haz for helping me spell it properly, lol.
Soup server is tureen.
just looked up def - belonging to the earth or world
sorry about wrong def.
well, got it anyway, thanks Frances, too.
But it sent us in the right direction, doxy.
trishtrash You're welcome
I must look really sick, my daughter keeps coming in & asking me if I need anything... I'm taking advantage while it lasts...so far she;s fetched the thermometer, juice & tissues, also juice for her little brother & put the movie in for him... Someone hold me, I'm frightened...
Now she's brought me a bell to ring & the cat has taken up a post beside me on the desk...
good luck jera, take advantage cause it doesn't last long. get well soon.
What age is she, Jera?
lol @ the bell ... that's so sweet.
9 1/2... sweet, but would rather do what she wants, not what she should... like most kids that age
Oh, if she's not a teenager, then she probably has no ulterior motive!
I was beginning to suspect she was getting everything out of the way so she wouldn't be interrupted with her reading (lots of new books for Christmas)... but when I asked her she said, 'Well, you take care of me when I'm sick, so I should take care of you when you're sick' All together now... AWWWWWWW!
AWWWWWWWWW!
sounds like a wonderful daughter. well loved and loves back
Well, I try... use the Girl Scout guilt when I need to...
any clues for the final sp8/50?
Hi All - long slog today!
doxy1lover sp8/50 to do with two muscles at the back of the neck
sp8/50 muscle in the back of the neck
Doxy: Either of two muscles of the back of the neck, extending from the upper vertebrae to the base of the skull, that rotate and extend the head and neck
ty spellit and trish
othwise known as ... the muscles that are burning because I've been sitting here crouched over the keyboard for too long...
lol trish
I've got myself propped just so in the comfy computer chair... almost as restful as lying down...
reminded me of an incident at work. One of my coworkers slipped on ice in the parking lot, and pulled a muscle in her back or arm. When she had it checked out she told the doc that it was her blow drying muscle, you know, the one that you use to hold the blow dryer.
Of course, moving any part of my body other than my hands (again, propped just so) hurts like hell... I hate the flu...
I keep trying to spell sister... maybe next time it will work...
Jera, you obviously know how to be ill in comfort :) doxy... lol, your coworker must have a lighter drier than me... takes at least four muscles to lift mine ;)
the doc didn't understand what the blow dry muscle was. silly doc.
tsk, what do they learn in medical school these days?! ;)
jera, I've spent so much time in my recliner this week, I'm beginning to hate it. (have bronchitis, had laryngitis)
Now that can be a pain in the neck, doxy... and chest... and stomach if you cough hard enough... I hate coughing...
i agree with you jera. I hate coughing too. but unfortunately I get bronchitis at least once a year.
My colds usually turn into strep throat, occasionally bronchitis. My kids seem to be more prone towards that... Sprite (my daughter) missed 2 weeks of Kindergarten when her bronchitis turned into pneumonia... scarey stuff...
Whoo-hoo! I remembered a weird word from yesterday!
Double whoo-hoo! I'm halfway!!
whoo hoo for jera.
i started last night and only have 165 so far.
have the k's, s's, and t's done. whoo *wiping sweat from brow*
I usually don't like boards with "A" in them because of all the off the wall words, now I miss the "A", think I have them all memorized.... I need a recliner too!
anyone else keep wanting to put "sister"?
Wow! 5667 pts today - I need a long lie down now
Why isn't kilner allowed? Proper name?
now that you've said it, hurshy, i do! lol :)
oops, sorry about that efor. :)
I think jera mentioned that one earlier, so you are not alone hurshy
Could I have a clue for the st words?
one is a foul smell, the other is plural of a pig pen (or a small eye infection)
Pigs live in st5/10's and I'm afraid they st5/18
nice clue spellit.
Okay, I give up... I need help with the stupid tr4/4... deceptively simple, but I don't see it!!
thank you. pigs are actually very cute.
jera, ends with same letter is starts with
tr4/4 like a tree but with a different last letter
ty so much... helps to start on the right letter... driving me batty...
Good morning everyone -- spent the last few minutes last night looking for the las two k's -- don't seem to be any brighter this morning!
Upgraded, little disappointed
cybernan, where are the k's
the tr 4/4..what does the 4/4 mean?
bunny.. 4 letters, 4 points
Well, I'm takin a break with 100 to go... gonna lay my poor aching head on a soft, soft pillow... later, all!
all this comes from BrandyJack's reference list?
300 today? poopies
hey toe sock, lots of words build on each other.
bye jera
yes, bunny, the list he posts on the babbler's anonymous site. The stats you get when you upgrade here are how many words per square, how many 4,5,6 letter (etc) words.
cnan, is it the 7/8 combo you need?
bye Jera, feel better!
Can anyone give me a hint for the se8? (if it's a plural of the 7, I don't have that either)
darnit! At least it was only ten dollars, i thought i'd be getting hints to the words, kinda like a crossword puzzle and I'd finally understand the number pattern you were using. The gris is helpful though, knowing which letters to build off and marking them as you play...
trish, think of the chapel in rome with the painted ceiling, spelled different
*showers doxy with choklit* finally! thanks! :)
yw trish, *thanks for the choklit*
afternoon folks... this one looks like it's going to take a few shifts... :)
OK, promised the kiddos we'd go the park today, I'd better get "hopping". Thanks for all your time Trish. Ya'll have a Happy New Years!
hey sherb
ty, you too bunny :) Hi Sherb
hey doxy :) you still laid up? hi trish :) ...could use some choklit myself, if there's any going spare... :D
yep. just can't get a good nights sleep
I'll share with you, and I promise not to cough on it first.
lol doxy ... sherb can have choklit too, you go ahead and cough on yours if'n you have to ;)
thanks, doxy... and you can cough all you like, cos I've already had the lurgy myself! :D
still have 50 to go, but need to take a break for now. See you all later.
so long, doxy, tc :)
later doxy :)
a clue for the last two ke's, please? (ke 7 & 8)
cybernan... birds of prey
hi nan :) ...sorry, but I'm working backwards... and the K's are a log way off...
TrishTrash: A definition of the Se8 is "a stanza of six lines". Also sounds like a famous chapel.
last ke 7 - bird of prey
Cybernan: Ke7 is a bird. Ke8 is the plural.

Hi everybody. hurshy, I could swear I've tried that er4 in the past only to have it rejected.
hi everybody!
mab - well, you're right, it doesn't take the 4 (singular) but it does take the five. i suppose it must be a latin plural.

Hi Sam! Pretty icon!

Thanks Babs1, but already found it.. was wondering if you were playing today
I am still missing several in words: in order- in5/18, in6/30,in5/10 and in6/18 all right before the in8/45.

hi, peri...am playing off and on...waiting for a client to show up...gonna help with nutrients for post-face lift recovery! 142 words so far
Babs1 - are you a nurse, face lift hmmm
peri: regarding the in 7/28 clue - I used to use 'plural" for verbs but I got my virtual wrist slapped with a rulerby an irate teaching nun so I stick to the 3rd person, present te 5/10 business and put the 's' into the clue.
sorry cmith finished so long ago forgot it was a word
those pi6/7/8 are also silly words, at least to me LOL
se 4/4 ? - stuck on one of the ones between the freehold stuff and the se 5/10 that a lot of people don't have in 'common'. I have the one that sounds like a vista.
se 4/4 in order glanced; whales; selves; Samoan money; burnt; Indian weights
thanks csmith -- got it -- it was french salts
lunch break -- can't believe I've been at this for almost 6 hours!

brilliantly !... I'd say HockeyGuy
no I didn't. I just made that one up.
Hockeyguy: really well done(just over half), especially if hockey is your first love. Be prepared for the addiction - could cut into hockey
Yea, I've been doing this for like 4 straight hours so far. Hockey is my first love, but I can see this cutting to everything else I pride myself on. Glad to see I'm doing good.
lol cmith!
Need a clue for the se8/40 now....damn these long words.... I always do the long words first tho' 'cos I just like to get them out of the way....
se 7/ 28 a type of verse or latin six plus a fork prong se 8/ 40 plural of se 7/28 (verse form)

yep, have that one. Need the ones after the thick ones
sherb - nope, jessie's not my boss. but I think my boss contracted him to keep me on task. .....please note that jessie is babbling while he scolds me for babbling. hmmm? is that fair?
and the one when you don't like someone too much ?
no smaller - not fair.... kary - what will the party be like? i have an inquiring mine -
thats just it ....I havn't a clue !!!!
I'd babble at work if I could (in my lunchbreak, of course...) but my company has blocked access to Babble... too clever by half...
ooohh sherb.....how unfair !!
how many people at your party, Karys? and do you have the place to yourself, or will there be others?
ooooo poor sherb! I'm not actually sure why we're even open this week.
ok - can't wait for the eyewitness report!!
theres lots of us....but I assume there will be others too..I don't think we have the place all to ourselves...but this is a small place where we live...and most are regulars anyway

resolutions: work more play babble less
resolution: throw away all the green gobstoppers so i don't eat them in desperation....8)
LOL smaller :D
my husband wants me to grow up to be pats
LOL again ren :D
Ren, green gobstoppers for you? mine is that i can't eat blue M&M's. no idea why, just seems unnatural.

I'm back everybody!!!! How are you all doin'?
ren and karys- you should make your own show!!!!
ok ren....but you got time to be an even better Pats !!!

ren - you don't drink... so which of Patsy's other bad habits do you have... ?
that be good ren....I can picture us both right now !!!
hi movieman! did you get all the long-lettered ones done?
actually - i don't have any of her habits - i can do a beehive hairdo....
guess I might have a few......and the blonde (helped) hair !!!
beehive's good... :D hi movieman - how are you doing?
did i say i had 15 words now....
Hi smaller, yes I did (thank God).... Now just have 51 4s, 40 5s & 43 6s to go.....(help me!!!!)
and you still have 15 words ?
Finally finished. *huge sigh of relief*
actually - i'm going fusion red or something like that this weekend... and i only have 15 words tyoed in.....
oh, I forgot... I've met Joanna Lumley, who plays Patsy... she came to speak at an event we organised... really nice lady... very natural, very funny...
WOW..WOW...WOW...doxy....well done there !!!!

I'm only one ahead of you at the mo then smaller, so thanx for giving me a little of my self-esteem back....
movieman, you have the hard ones out of the way
movieman, see, we're both better than Ren. she's very helpful that way. like being friends with someone who's short, fat and stupid. you're a winner every day
doxy....only 'cos I used a2z for the majority of them.....
ren - 15 words... are you sure you're really trying... ?
gotta go now everyone....see you all soon I hope... HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
if we are talking truth here, I use morewords.com and reversedictionary.com

Karys! Happy New Year and have fun at your party!
bye Pats - enjoy the party!!! :D
happy new year kary - have fun!!!!!!
Movieman, I think we got that past Ren without her noticing! hehehehehehe
oh hahahahaha - i was thinking - i can't do 2 things at once ya know....8)
Yep, nice one smaller!!!!
ren, at least not til the fusion red covers the blond. but we'll still know, dear.
hope it doesn't go orange.......if it does i can hire myself out as a co** head duriing road construction....
*throws confetti on herself* Yay! I finished!!! Hi all :)

Congrats MissyMe!
yeah missy *throwing more confetti*
thankee thankee :)))
sorry -cone was a word from yesterday - i think i'm confused.....
ooh MIssy - well done!!! ...you've been very quiet... :)
Sherb I was concentrating on those last toughies I had. The r's threw me for some reason and I couldn't get 2 le's I had been working on for a while
woohoo missy! 300 is a huge accomplishment!
doxy - isn't it about time you went Pro? ...just think, you could have pictures of dachshunds... :D
Smaller I think I monkey=typed this one more than any other puzzle we've had
sherb- you should be in sales!
sherb, I'm thinking mayber after the first of the year.
lol
ah Missy, when I get stuck on the last few, that's when I call in the cavalry... there's always someone around to help...
I'll be right back..I'm gonna look for an appropriate new years pic
Missy- yes, lots of 'er 'ers 'ed re' and de' this grid was the prefix/suffix fest
well done missy, and thanx for turning my eyes from blue to green......lol
aww movieman :) what are you up to right now?
lol movieman, but you're still better than ren
smaller - it's just because I'm interested in people... I like to read the profiles... where they're from, what their interests are, how many typos they made...
hey - i'm at 17 now.....
chanting *go ren, go ren*
Smaller...so true. If you look down the word grid it looks like a rollercoaster ride turned vertically. What a ride!
woo hoo, ren!!! that's a 17% improvement in 10 minutes... my boss would kill for performance like that :D
sherb- lol ren- pace yourself, don't cramp
i confess - i turned on dharma and greg....
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THAT SHOW !!!!!!!!
I have "Stitch, The Movie" on right now. Just love that Stitch
In answer to your enquiry missy....I've got 122 words left...
i love larry.....
Missy - i know! all the repeated words isn't fair
Kitty made a comment about not having a second child b/c "smart women don't forget that kind of pain" ooo that's funny
If we're talking 'entertainment while U Babble', I'm listening to my Madonna back catalogue on Media Player (that's right, I've ripped every one of her albums onto my hard drive...)
I'm off for now. I think I might try working on a baby quilt for a while. Will see you all later.
later cheer leader doxy - keep cheering me on w/ each stitch!!!! 8)
bye doxy! congratulations! i'm outie too! sent one off to ya ren!
later doxy :)
i love larry's line " and whom among us has not blamed the dog...."
you've got it ren. keep concentrating and you'll finish.
Okay, goodnight all. I'm quitting with 42 words left to find, but I just don't care about them any more!! See you tomorrow!
later smaller - have a happy new year and wiggle than finger when you pass by!!!!
bye smaller :)
never mind, Haz... there's a fresh start tomorrow... nite :D
nite haz... there's always tomorrow
I just have to say, that ek6 word is bloody ridiculous.....!!!!!
reminds me of Tiny Tim... don't know what it means...
okay back :)
happy new year to you too, Missy :)
I agree with the ek6 word...it's so obscure! Here's the definition: a paper money, brass coin, and monetary unit of Equatorial Guinea, equal to 100 centimos: replaced the peseta in 1973
It's going to be a wonderful year. I'll be a gramma for the first time. My daughter is expecting a boy in February
I just have to say missy, HOW THE HELL DID U KNOW THAT????!!!!! (Sorry for the shouting)
Movieman lol! I did my usual google-fu and found it
<---------the same to you Sherb :)
ok, 8 beautiful red ticks... time to go and read some more Janet Evanovich... see you all for the last puzzle of 2005 :D
ok sherb! enjoy your evening!!! we'll party tomorrow!
Bye Sherb cya later :)
cya sherb, and U never know, The Almighty didn't give us anything especially exciting for the 1000th, or Xmas day, so maybe he's saving it for the New Year.....lol
Just in case ne of U are interested, I prefer to Babble late at night, 'cos for some reason, I can only get a decent internet connection round about now..... Don't ask me why....
If you're on cable you're sharing bandwith with your neighbors. This slows you down
sunday's are the worse .... and holidays.... like eveyone is logged on.. i like late at night - only right now it's prime time. i'm cental standard time.
It's not that, missy, I'm sharing a connection with my father's PC, and his is upstairs on the top floor, and mine is two floors below, so maybe that has something to do with it.....
Being on a router does slow you down a bit too :) Im on pacific time so the internet is crowded right now here too
Plus I'm using wireless Broadband....
Anyone have a clue for sp8/65?
not me - i'm struggling through the te's
hockeyguy - here's a clue 4 ya, it's a small pointy thing....
Yeah, I got it. I thought I tried that one already before though... Oh well.
I know the feeling, hockeyguy, i's that deja vu thing again..... (I knew I was going to say that.....lol)
Happens to the best of us.
sp 8/ 65 A railroad sp*** + when you threaten someone you say, "I'm gonna --- you have it!"
Can anyone offer up a clue for the first and last ke 6/33? HAve the "sharp" one
ke 6/ 33 When someone is knocked over he is ke***** over (past tense of ke 4/8) ke 6/ 33 This is a fish"ie", extended from ke 4/9
I'm stuck on the second pi5/12 Any clues?
pi 5/ 12 Combine pi 4/ 5, (means to mount stuff on top of other stuff), first person singular
pi 5/ 12 Combine pi 4/ 5, (means to mount stuff on top of other stuff), with first person singular forgot the word "with" sorry Hope I didn't confuse you
Thank you so much MissyMe :)
macuser yw :)
Help with sp6/21. It's my last "s" word.
That would be the last sp6/21.
I need that one too - the last sp6/21
There's 7 6sp/21's you know which one you want?
The last one. Heh.
Hey all, I'm back for the last 100... how goes the battles?
k sp 6/ 21 sp + draw a straight **** on a piece of paper with a ruler
<-------- Hello Jera Everyone seems to be holding up :)
Awesome thank you! Now, I'm done with the S's and have gone over 200!
Hi all! Am getting a VERY late start. Any help w/the second de 6/21?
Thanks again MissyMe! :) I thought I'd already typed that one in - guess not
Yeah, right... that's obvious from your icon, MissyMe, LOL!
On the home stretch...well, the stretch is at least visible as I crack 200
Nonny - think the Mojave de****
Hockeyguy Cool! :) macuser yw :) de 6/ 21 This is even more so than de 5/12 above it
anything bigger then 8 letters?
five 9's, one 10 and one 11!
yeah melissa, 5 - 9 letter words, one ten and one 11.
I thought I had already tried that one and it didn't take. My bad. But thanx anyway. Now it took!!!
Hi everyone, Could I please have a clue for the re7? I need two of the re6's also, but I'm not sure which ones. Thanks
Cool Nonny :)
wow, thanks. gotta look a little harder
I'm stuck on he second to last kn5/18... help, please?
they make your legs bend
re 7/ 28 This is plural of one above it, re 6/ 18. re + the number after 9 + a vowel, and then pluralize it for re7/28
Nevermind on the re7, I just found it. Thanks anyway
Thanks MissyMe, I found it once I got the re6.
PappouTed Glad you did...it was a hard one to clue :)
ty, drum... pass the fish, please...
Jera lol *hands over Shamu* Technically not a fish but have fun!
there are three ke6/33. I am missing the middle one, clues please
uh oh - missy is getting pretty fiesty!!! 8)
also missing the last ki4/8 and the last kn4/8 and kn5/18. clues appreciated
Past tense of the one above it, peri
ke 6/ 33 past tense of one above it
Jera and MIssyme, thank you. any clues for the other K words I am missing?
last ki4/8=another word for pigs
last kn4/8= way to make a sweater
thanks Jera, found the ki4
My pleasure, peri!
Jera, thanks again, Duh I miss the most obvious words since I am so busy looking for the obscure ones
ki4/8 rhymes with tips kn4/8 when you use needles to stitch something you kn** kn5/18 (there are two kn5/18's) first: when you bend your legs and set down you kn*** second: this is the part of anatomy that bends, both of your kn***
Yea, I have all the K's
Great Peri! Those were the ones I did first because they looked daunting to me. I was happy to get them behind me
Whoo-hoo for peri (small battles, i say)!
Wish I could say the same for the other letters :(
Peri, mostly this is a puzzle of suffixes. The word list looks like a rollercoaster set vertically, up and down, up and down and your eye goes down the list
Any clues for re8/45? The monkey is dead from typing
re 8/45 refuses to admit to, again
I have very few re's, sorry...
re 8/ 45 re + de6/21
hey jera, nice snowflake. heard we were both looking for "sister" earlier in the day....
Jera Despite the fact I thought the k's would give me trouble it was the r's. I only completed about half by the time I had finished the rest of the puzzle and very slowly completed them last
Thank you MissyMe :) I owe you a cake or cookies or something
macuser yw and yummy :)
Okay, so why is there no valid root word for the pl7?? Unfair, i say!
jera - it might be spelled diff than we would think. like root of pianist is piano, not pian...
Yup, hurshy... hate those phantom words! Missy, I usually save re's for last, always so many choices, gets confusing...
Jera, did you find it? That one's a toughie!
Assist on 2nd op 5/12 and 6/21, s'il vous plait
That might be it, hurshey... Missy, i must confess I'm at a2z level now for the toughies!
op5 - add religious word for wrongdoing (pl for the 6)
jera, don't worry, so am I.....
op 5/12 op + when you do something against God's law you *** op6/21 plural of above
Yay! Finished the dreaded K's. Now onto the L's.
Merci!
Jera I use it too when I must...even looking things up that way takes time and can stress you :)
Yay Hockeyguy! *throws k-shaped confetti around*
hey peri...in and out today..just answering your earlier question...no, not a nurse...wellness consultant though...get to help people with great naturala stuff! even help with some genetic issues...you've been on board alot today, so you must be almost done?!
drum77 yw :)
L's and Os complete, finding the final 2 Ne's.

le5/10 which one? there's 3 of em :)
Anyone got clues for the two Ne5/10? They are eluding me.
There are two le's together - I have one of them
Happy New Year's Eve Eve, Y'all!
Both are basically the same, only the 4 letter (vowel) is different
et 6/ 18 It's like going on forever, something that lasts an ------- but change the end "y" to a vowel
the rest of the et's are versions of it, second one ends with sounding like "wise" and the last is the plural of that one
Woohoo! I got it :) This is the biggest grid I've ever finished. Thanks for all your help :) Especially you, MissyMe :)
ne 5/ 10 sounds like "heist" ne 5/ 10 this is like ne5/12 above but change the second to last constanant
ty missyme - got them all now. Good clues
macuser Yay! * Pulls out horns and throws around handfuls of edible confetti*

The plural if your in8/40
Only 50 more to go...
Yeah, i'm going take a break to relax and get something to eat.
And MissyMe - I agree with Dust in the Wind :) I guess I just outed my age, heh
sure, that's it. rub it in. 198 to go. :-P
what's for dinner hockeyguy?
Hey everyone!
hey t-owl!!!!

How long does it take for the grids to change at the end of the day?
gnubee Yw :) Angelsong...just a few seconds to refresh and a new grid is up
Almost . . .half . . . done . . .Must . . .try . . .to . . . finish . . .Must . . .keep . . .talking . . like . . .Shatner . . .
lol Torgone ROTF!!!
really good improv torg!
hey tor - how the heck are you!
Heya 72! I'm all right!
Hey, my club music just broke in to my Kanas CD I had playing...lol oh well.. *starts dancin'*
who would have believed that there could be so many k words.
ruffh2o I've had enough k words for the next ten lifetimes
hey ruff!!
te/8 or ti/8 clues?
hi ruff!
hi all! happy new year. anybody have plans?
may i have a clue to the last ers- 5/10 and 4/4 - please?
my New Years plans are simple: *Babble*
te 8/ 40 This is the plural of above which is earthlike
we're going to do a polar bear swim on new year's day
Missy--- I drew a blank on that same te/"earthlike" clue this morning.
missy - great clue for re9
Not exactly a "polar" bear event in L.A. . . ..
warmer, even...san diego. :)
ti 8/ 60 continuation from ti6/30 A bunch of people doing this in the toilet, (man, I hope not at the same time!) ti 8/ 45 contiuation from ti6/18 above it. Your Christmas tree has been ti******
thanx ren :)
Thanks again, MissyMe, got them all
i'm not even going to ask what a polar bear swim is.....
a bunch of people who go for a swim in the ocean on new year's day. no wetsuits allowed.
It's still pretty chilly in the water down here in Sandy Eggo, but not like those fools who jump into really freezing water!
water should be a balmy 54....
ok - polar bear - i make the connection - cold water...
yeah. we have friends who 'do' chicago's swim. yikes.
Angelsong Ill walk you through it then It is a tough one to explain. First, it's the plural of the one above so lets work on that one: te7/28 Use the word for earth but drop the "a" and add a different vowel + sounds like phonetically spelled kn4/8 and drop one of the vowels
Jacula hopes Renfield is behaving herself.
tor - check the news on sunday afternoon. if you see a bunch of nuts swimming in la jolla, that's us.
found the te 7/28....
uh....gee....uh... mistress.... yes....uh....yes, yes i am....!!
te 8/40 is found...
I don't get up to La Jolla ( my car is turned back at the checkpoints) but I'll probably be around Pacific Beach and Mission Bay on my bike.
torgone I don't understand that mindset...jumping into ice-capped waters but some find it refreshing. I'm thinking they were born without nerve endings but that's just me...
actually, it hurts like hell for a few minutes while your body acclimates...then, it feels like summer.
ruffh2o Is that when you start seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and get a rerun of your life?
we used to rent our kayaks at mission bay, for long swims.
something like that, yes, missy
I imagine it's one of those things that takes a tremendous amount of courage to jump into, but once you've done it and survived, you say, "Why did I do that???"
I'm a land-lubber myself. I prefer hiding...I mean HIKING in the great tic-infested outdoors...ahhhhh....
not really. it's like lemmings - everybody takes a run at the water, and you just join them. besides...champagne out at the 1/4 mile buoy is an incentive, and the annual chili potluck back onshore when you're done.
besides, sd in december is like dover in september, and most of us have done that too.
ruffh2o I knew there had to be GOOD reasons to do it. :)
oh, and the opportunity to flash or moon the news cameras too.
ruffh2o You live an interesting life
I guess I do, missy. I don't like to be bored.
Yes! Flashing is good! Especially for the nitwit newspeople we have down here!
pretty boys on my tv screen w/ teeth so white and hair so clean....
sadly, flashing them means that you're excluded from the newscast. the only time the news every shows a good 'moon' is for that annual amtrak moon in sd.
Tor those nitwits are everywhere And they say cloning retrohumans is impossible
Done and done (at bloody last!!!!) And about time at nearly 2:30am GMT..... Now for some well-earned kip....... See you all tomorrow.......(or for those of you in the UK, later on today!!!!!!) Byyyyyeeeeeeee!! !!!!!!!
later movieman - way to go!!
Movieman!!!! Yay!!! *drags out her irritating only-for-sporting-events horn and lets her rip*
joe jackson!!
That is something I could probably be talked into, at least here in S.D. Knowing I would survive is a big plus, since I have plenty of insulation . .
it's a lot of fun, tor. join us!!
ok ruff!!!!!!
ruff- are u listening to joe jackson?
You'll put your eye out, Tor
That's not what I'm afraid of losing, Missy . . What time will this event take place, ruff???
10 am, la jolla shores. look for a crowd of people in bathing suits.
hehe
Just so we're all clear on this: I am NOT going to jump in the ocean this Sunday. I might make it there to observe, though . .
torg torg he's our man!!
ok! 3 of us will be swimming, we'll leave one on the beach.
we're driving down the night before, and staying with friends. a welcome change, since we usually drive down & back in the same day for swims.
peer pressure, tor. once you see people jumping in, it's hard to resist.
All done. We (me and 69) are off now. Happy New Year if we don't see you before.x
I think I'll be able to resist. Though I'm sure if I had friends who did it, I would probably let myself get talked into it, just for the thrill.
happy new year, jac
ruffh2o Get pics :) Cool Jacula :) Yay! You have a happy one too!
missy - see last year's pics at www .lajollacoveswimclub. org (remove spaces)
Thanx for that site. You look like you're all have a blast!
look at the group photo on the grass. I'm fourth from the left, red suit (NOT the one in the bikini, sorry)
Could that picture BE any smaller?
we typically do have a blast. we've done lots of swims, some local, some relays (mexico to california, and around the world). my favorite was last halloween - 'come in costume, or prepare to be decorated'.
i mean, not around the world exactly, but in places around the world.
well, tor, you could always save it to your hard drive and zoom in...;)
Tor click on the pic to enlarge it
Ruff 'come in costume, or prepare to be decorated'. *snicker*
I was decorated. Didn't have a water-worthy costume.
well, that's it for me. off in search of dinner and dog food. happy new year, all, if I don't catch you tomorrow morning.
I know, but enlarged it's still pretty small . .
See ya, ruff!
Bye Ruff same to you!
Probably the difference in the size of our monitors then...
bye, all. I'll be back to participate in the group hangover on Monday.
bye rennie (are you still online)?
Oh...no....the Go Go's...we got the beat... *taps her foot despite that*
ruff lol
thanks, missy. that song will be stuck in my head now!
hehe
bye ruff --have a great swim!!!! and a happy new year!!
pi 8/ 65, please
Hi all - just trying this out!
pi 8/ 65 Combine pi4/5 with li4/8
Hello maggiegirl Welcome!
Thanks again, MissyMe. I could swear I typed that in a few times.
Thanks Missy. . . how do I get a cute little picture by my name? :-)
gnubee I know the feeling...how many times did I say that to myself when doing this puzzle...geesh!
Maggie I think you have to go "pro"...its a small fee you pay only once forever Not sure if people who don't buy the pro version can get one
I"m a pro! will look around and see what all i can do.
Ti7/44 (the last one). Been looking for like 15 minutes...
go to my profile and edit picture, maggie
Oh then go to "profile" at top right of this page then you see an icon area that says "edit" underneath Go there and follow instructions to upload an icon
ok, how's this? My three year old.
The *** Man from the Wizard of Oz + the first li4/8
awww Maggie sweetness in minature :)
Kewt!
aww what a cutie!
so you're chatting while playing the babble game? How long do the puzzles stay up?
Thank you! She's a sweetheart. Broke her arm 3 days before christmas!!!
Puzzle changes every 24 hours...people chat off and on and help each with clues
Thanks missy.
what do you mean clues?
Oh no, that's terrible. It's so hard for a little one to break bones. Is she okay?
please help!! de/7 anything would be appreciated
Maggie...once in a while we can't find a word and we help each other by giving cryptic clues...just alluding to the answer
oh she's fine - adjusted well to a full cast! She's only had two arms for 3 years so she's game! lol
Like this: HELP! I need a clue for the 10 and 11! Please! TIA (Thanks In Advance)
don't you just type in any words that you see like boggle? . . . . . maybe i should read the rules!
Mr Pres which de7? There's 3 of em
Yeah its like Boggle just type them in and it accepts or rejects it....If it accepts it it starts making a list for you down the right side of the chat
Tor, really want clues or was that an example?
missy.... any of them... I am having a duh moment with 7's today
tor -- the 10/11 builds off the de7/32 & 8/45 combo which relates to fate --- add the before prefix :)
coming up Mr. :)...
Hi everyone!! (*hugs*)
Torgone, what do you mean you need help for the 11 and the 11? I'm so confused on what you're helping each other with
Maggie - Yes, but . . .sometimes you don't see all the words. You need a little help. It's not a competition, so we help each other.
Hi GW Hi Everybody
cool picture grey wolf!!
HI maggiegirl -- welcome to the pack! you have jsut witnessed a clue exchange -- Torgone called for help and I gave a hint that should help him find the words he needs :)
Maggie, if you click on the Babblers Anonymous link to the right, then click general then stats, you will see a list of all the words for the day. today there are 300. it will have them like sp 4/5, which means a word that starts with sp, has 4 letters and is worth 5 points.
hey wolfie!!!
hey bean!!
Leslie - ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Thank you!
Hi bean!! Hey ren!! (*Hug*)
Mr. pres, I have 2 of the de 7s first one is a plural of something you eat after dinner and the other that I have is like a de wod for making your own future, but change the last letter. sorry cant help on the 7/36 de
first: plural of de6/21 second: when you really dislike someone you de***** them third: Sometimes people say, "IF you try that you are de**** to fail at it
whoa - didn't see mrp!!!! trying to get over the i only have 15 ....stigma...
maggie - If you "flip to stats" you'll see a grid showing the number of words that start with each letter. As you get into the puzzle, you'll find there are words you can't see. That's what the chat is for. We help each other get as many words as posible.
sorry all - been noggleing...lost in the roller coaster missy told us about....
Ren how's it coming?
do you guys print out the list or just keep flipping back and forth to see what you are looking for? What a cool concept!!
Any help with the 1st de6/21 and with dr5/12.
maggie -- you have entered a new world here, we call it Babbleonia ;D We believe that the focus of the game is to have fun -- since we all understand the satisfaction that comes from successfully finishing a given board, we work together to maximise the number of complete grids among us -- thus the hints and camaraderie :)
Maggie I cut and paste Brandy's wonderful list to Notepad and minimize it on my desktop
91 to go missy...8)
ok, I see myself becoming totally addicted to this!!!
When I use the Babblers Anon list, I like to open it in a second window, next to the main window, and jump back and forth.
HockeyGuy de6/21 is the even more de**** of de5/12
Ren! You'll make it, I know..plenty of time :)
Excellent! Her transformation is complete. We have a new Babble addict . .. Muwahahahaha!
any clues for the pr 10/84
missy - I still can't get the de 7/36....can you give me a more obvious clue??
LOL torgone!
maggie - to give you an idea of how addictive this game is -- I only checked it out in mid October to see what it was like -- I haven't missed more than 2 grids since then! and I have finished at least 80% of the grids as well ;)
and the pr 11/104
Tim -- I gave a clue at 9:17 for both of those
GW - Thanks for those clues! Got both of them..
pr - 10/84 - make or create pr 11 plural of 10/84
pr11/104 is plural of pr10/84 both are a combination of a type of "pre"fix and the second de7/32
My pleasure, tor -- I've still got 115 to go myself-- so I don't think I'm gonna make it today, so I may as well share what I've got :)
Off to fix some din Keep the Babble fires burning :) I'll be back in a bit
Et6/18? And missy, I didn't understand your clue on de6/12 (the first one).
Happy din, Missy.
Bye missy, thanks for the help.
ok missy - i will miss u.....
circe de 7/36 de + secret agents otherwise called .....
so, do you guys stay up all night lol?
(((((((Ren))))))))
It's been known to happen maggiegirl!
ok missy - i feel like i can let you go now...
ty and enjoy dinner missy!
i've got 93 words, am I almost done???
The other fun part, maggie, is that since we come from all over the world, what may be night for you or me, is midday elsewhere -- makes greetings and partings interesting :D
300 words today Maggie
Someone help me on te7/28? The second one.
de7/36 to hate intensely et6/18 a poetic word for forever
I hate boards like this, that reinforce how few words I actually use that have greater that 5 letters :\
what does sp 5x7 mean?
Word starts with SP, 5 letters, 7 points.
Amen Greywolf !!!!!!!!! or how many 4 letter words that I did not really know !!
Or . . .sp5 x 7 may mean there are 7 sp5 words.
Help Please!! any te/7 word thanks!
Sorry Grey Woulf - I spelled your name wrong :-(
No worries, oldhouse -- just call me GW -- everyone else does ;D
Well, I am still working hard at it and am down to my last 10. Hanging in there cuz I'm going to finish.....HOPEFULLY!!! 10 more sp's to go....Wish me luck....
mr. pres. I only have one of the te 7s. think of a big pot for soup.....
mrp -- if I had any, I'd share 'em
if this was golfing rules, I believe I would have you all beat!
Go, Nonny, Go!!
nonny... I have the pyrotechnics ready...
Hello everbody. Help! I would be grateful for clues for the two SP8s I don't have. I do have 'ones who sp5/12.'
Hi mab -- another builds of the sp5 meaning sharp pointy bit -- changes the meaning to a small sharp pointy bit
Heya mabushka.
sp 8 = a volley ball term to sp*** the ball over the net + beatles song *** it be ( i think)
Yo. Thanks GW; I'll work on that. Hi Tor - going swimming this weekend?
hiya mab!!
Down to 30 and I'm stuck.
renfield gets BEST CLUE award!!!
NO. I am NOT going swimming. If I get up early enough, I might go watch other people go swimming.
help with one of the ti7/44's? I have the plural
thanks for that hint mab! I also have a sp8 word that is a description of someone telling you their story. rhymes with healer. Does that makes sense? My first hint so bear with me
after the ti8, have the other before it
GW -- One is plurel of ti 6/30. The other is The *** Man from Wizard of OZ + li4/8 (1st one).
ti - type of metal ti* + not i love you, but i li 4 you
Anyone help me on the second te 7/28?
Thank you, HockeyGuy -- ti's are now complete :) maggie -- you're a natural! -- had the word already, but would have gotten it if I didn't with no probs :D
GW: I have ti's that expand on the sound a bell makes, and on the tin foil stuff on xmas trees; does that help? Thank you maggie. An excellent clue, alas, that's the one I have. Thank you though.
I didn't have that one Maggie - Thanks!!
Five to go. Get those fireworks ready.....
yea! I helped someone!
And thanks Rennie for the other sp8 I now have! SP9?
Sorry Hockey, I don't have the other te.
sp9 -- builds off the other sp5/12 that is a pointy bit, add the same li4/8 that I needed for my ti7
Sorrrrrry!!!! I meant to ask for DE9!!!! Anyone have it?
Think AWOL
sahara
de 9- muliple of de8 - what quitters do
Two more to go.....I'm getting excited!!!
Thank you brandyjack, ren, oldhouse! Very grateful.
nonny....nonny...nonny...
Nonny...Nonny!...Nonny!!...
Anyone have the dr one?
i'm a little confused by the stats list - a group of words with capital letters followed by lower case and then beneath that, there's a list. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it and I've a feeling I'll be back tomorrow!!!
dr5 = d + to take a break
dr - think of a toothpaste brand - exchange first letter
past tense of to put clothes on, but with alternative to ed. dr5
T's are done!!
Thank you. D's done!!! Now to finish up the E's.
The 2nd Letter count tells you how many words there are starting with those two letters followed by a breakdown of how many of each length.
Back *fingers her new Forbidden Planet DVD that just came in the mail*
Welcome back Missy. Anyone got et8?
Oooh! Forbidden Planet!! -- "Beware the Creatures of Id!"
anyone have a hint for the de 7/32 that is not the name for a baby rash ointment, or the word that descrives one's end results?
et8 - to make something last forever?
Cool GW and hi :) The r's were the worst for me...gah!
The Scores list provides a similar 2nd letter list in alphabetical order with the size and point score associated with it.
maggie, i'm confused - there are only 2 de 7/32s
do you maybe need de 7/36, to hate?
de 7/32 hating someone very much
right hurshey, and I only have one of them. .
yeah she meant that one I'm sure
oh i see then i guess you need multiple saharas
te 7/28 anyone? (either one)
hurshy, I didn't understand your clue for et8.
maggie - The BabAnon stats list (created by Babbler Brandyjack) shows several things: A list of the sizes of all words; A list of words that start with each letter in the grid; A list of the number of times each letter is used within a word; A list of all the word by first and second letter; And finally (the most overt list), a list of all words, in order, by first and second letter, and point score.
te 7/28 soup dish (or is it only a homonym thereof?) te 7/28 take prev te4 and add not bro but ___
1st te7 -- te4/4 + not bro but ***
hurshy --- Great minds... (LOL)
hockeyguy - well it is a weird word. it builds off the et 6/18...
thank you hershey, I got it! Thanks for the hints Torgone!!
:) GW
te7/28 Use the word for earth but drop the "a" at the end of the word and add a different vowel + sounds like phonetically spelled kn4/8 and drop one of the vowels
good night all, can't wait to see your stats in the morning!
Oh, ok. I for et6/18, so I'll keep working on it. I'm assuming et9/54 is peurel of et8/40. What about es6/21?
Night Maggie nice meeting you :)
ok but my ranking is misleading on account of my christmas road trip!!!
G'nite, maggie -- great meeting you! (*hug*)
night maggie
:-)
hockey - yes on the et9. es6 - notices (related to james bond's job)
(i'm so vain...)
et6/18 "e" + te6/18
got 'em, thanks
Good night maggie and welcome! Don't look at my stats. Yours won't show up until you've played for three days, I think.
Yeah, I had that one Missy. I made a typo, sorry for the confusion.
:) tor - i think a lot of us are suffering
Np Hockeyguy :)
I forget- has anyone given a clue for the last sp8/50 recently?
Only 26 left...
sp 8/50 take previous word (organ), drop one of the vowels. then add two vowels and a consonant (it's a latin ending)
sp 8/ 50 A muscle in the back of the neck
well sure, if you want to be technical...
Could I have a clue or few for the two long 'pr' words. I've been trying to figure them out, and getting nowhere. Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks.
where does one access Brandy's BabAnon list?
hey boat - in christian theology, there is a big debate over whether God pr__________ people to heaven and hell.
that which is fore-ordained, for those who believe in fate....
boatierra, a 'pre'fix + fate, it's your de*****, change the last letter (and plural)
for both add "pre"fix to de7/32 one is plural of other
I used to look at the stats when it was a number you could follow from day to day. Now, I really don't give much of a hoot. I just play the game to get what I can, and have some fun in the chat.
TA DA!!!! I FINALLY finished! YEA ME!!! 300 words and they were toughies!!! I'm soooo excited!!!
yay for Nonny!
nonny gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* clap clap clap clap clap !! WELL DONE!!
Yayyyy!!!!! for Nonny (*HUG*)
*cheers* N-o-n-n-y !!! Yay You Go!!
Yaya nonny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stats are numbers...numbers are math...I don't do math
torgone, how do i find Brandy's BabAnon List?
Pi7/48. Not the color one.
Thanx all....Now that I'm done obsessing, can I help anyone b/4 I go for the night????
Wow, good job Nonny!!
The link to Babblers Anonymous is in the right side of your browser page at the bottom of the list of 'Friends of Babble'...
Got 'em! Thanks everyone :)
:-( I'm just approaching 100 words...
plural of pi6/33
... Then go to "General" then "Stats"
I meant pi 6/33. Not the color.
Swash you still get points for what you have, though :)
Swashbuckler- then consider yourself doing well!! This is a very tough board today :)
your little finger
Thanks.
what are the ti 8/ 60 ke 8/60 kn 8/60 re 9/60 words?
Thanks Brandy.... so.... do you do that list thingie every day? Or, do you WRITE these puzzles?
little kids that go potty are called ti******
heh...yesterday I found 80 words. today I found 142. things are improving.
ke 8/60 is the plural of small falcons
good one angel!
ti 8/ 60 these are people who use the toilet...they "go" this way in it. This word is a continuation from ti6/30
kn 8/60---praying benches
I wrote a program that extracts the stats form a list of words another progam generates. Every night at puzzle reset if I am awake, or whenever I remember in the morning. I've been on vacation for 3 weeks and sometimes it's hard to remember....
re 9/60 re + snakelike
snakelike?
That threw me too, but it's kind of like another name for snake....
Pl7/32 and il5/12?
Missy, I'm with you. Math gives me hives
Jeff not a snake but another word is ...... like Satan is consider this. actual definition of the word you want is: A white to yellowish powder, isolated from the roots of certain species of rauwolfia and used as a sedative and an antihypertensive. the word will come up if you google the definition
Angel lol
il 5 - sounds like ILL (remove one L) + E + 2 letter word for you and me
il---intestinal obstruction causing constipation
I-N-I!
sorry, saw I-L-L and got a little school spirit. it's a reflex, really.
PL 7/32 - pour me a tall one barkeep - please use this glass.....
Pl7/32 the word sounds something like pianoist
don't put an "o" in it though
Thanks a lot.
or if you have to have more than enough you are a pl*****
Leslie lol
ke 8/60? kn 8/60?
ke---plural of small falcons
kn---church prayer benches
ke -- sounds something like "vestial" virgins. Add an "r" after the "t"
Too many S words!!!
GW they do go on and on :)
especially SE's!!
THANKYOU ALL FOR HELPING ME!!!
Yep, lots of s words, however; once you find one, you just plural, past tense it, er it, etc....works for almost every one....
es6/21? et8/40? (still can't get it)
ARG I want my hands around the throat of the person who invented DVD and CD wrapping...better yet...someone bring me his head.....on a broken DVD player
et---make famous forever....
es 6/21 e + international detectives
es---catches sight of something....
You're welcome Jeff. Need any more help???
et 8 - from here to et******, change the last two letters from ty to the first two letters of what you do with your eyes
Hockey et---- end like vulcaNISE.
et8/40 "e" + the bird found in te4/4 + "e"
es6/21 "e" + secret agents
pi 6 /33 ?
Thanks. 12 more to go.
The last In?
Well, good night all. See you tomorrow and let's hope it's not as big a puzzle. Oh wait a minute. Tomorrow night's New Year's Eve. Half of us won't be in any condition to Babble.... :-)
sp8/45? sp8/65?
pi 6 /33 to make something the color you found in pi4/9...to light"en" it to this color
Night Nonny Happy New year :)
How's everyone tonite?
sp8/45 these are people who can really tell a tale...real yackers
Hi Temple! sp8/45 -- plural of 7/32 (one who sp5's) sp8/65 -- sp5/20 + to allow
Hello Jojo <--------- :)
Missy ME YOU ARE AWESOME
Hi JoJo -- pretty good if I can just keep myself from pulling my hair out! :D Help with the last se7/28 please?
Wow Jeff...now will you do me a favor and open these @#$%!! DVD wraps I just got? lol
Only like 2 minutes left, and I need ten more. :(
Hockey, my clock says you still have an hour.
i'm trying to remember which comedian it was who said whoever wraps CDs and DVDs should be in charge of our national security... something about no one would ever be able to get in
GW: Thought I would work on the babble before I started to chat. Once I start to chat, I don't usually get anything more. Thx for responding!
Missy -- I never use the pull strips on the wrappers, a sharp knife does wonders for opening them ;)
JoJo - Oh, so in other words, I am saving you from yourself tonight? ;D
se7/28 add another "s" + ti4/4
Yes! P's done! Nine more to go.
GW There's pull-strips on yours???!!! Hey...I have pull-strip envy *pouts*
(*HUG*) -- thanks Missy! The S's are grey!
Go Hockey....Go Hockey...You can do it!!!
GW: Yea, just not doing well, sort of OK, but not my best. Guess I am just not into it tonite.
GW YW :)
