luck
176 words
And yet no one was there brfore the flip! Well I'm not staying. figured I was alone and had a chance. No chance with lurkers about. Night all
a7/28
I posted before the flip, hoot. I'm only a quasi-lurker!
i don;t know what i am hoot - i was drawing and came back 8)
s7/48
t9/54
t9/66
Good Evening, Everyone Gotadell..Gotadell.. Gotadell......it finally arrived and I've spent most of the day getting everything loaded and set up. Yay!!
hey nan!!! i hear you gotadell, gotadell, gotadell!!!
Hello! How is everyone!? Grid fun? or is is obnox!
lot of those ssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
evening, all s 8/55
s9/54
I'd say it's a bit obnoxious, Mr. P. But it's too early to tell....It went very quickly for about ten minutes, then slooooooooowed way down.
t7/28 (i know people are posting 9's but it's the longest one i've found yet!)
Morning dear gang! I like that, LeslieAnn, we need the 7s as bad as the 9s!
S7/48 now that's a word I love :)
i got that one right away sprite! good clue!
:D Don't think it's ever been in a grid before. About time, right? ;)
Does the se 7 build off the se 6/33 & 36?
ha, and i thought it wouldn't be in any words, just a sad three-letter combo. kept trying to put "ie" or "ite" on the end, and turns out, those aren't words.
Could be, don't have them yet. It builds from my favorite S3.
My best guess is we're talking about the same word.....
oh ok i found one of the 6's, jane. yes it does. the most.
Figures!
A 6/33 can never be the 7/48, for sure! :)
a9/102. I think that's the highest scoring word I've ever seen on a grid!
ah, also a related a 7/48 (who also can never be s 7)... if people don't have these words yet they're probably pretty annoyed...
ooh, good one melissamay!
Nice one, melissa!
Thanks! It made me pretty happy.
S8/40 compound, tried it just for fun and it turns out to be a word. It is not a boat.
S9/54 is the plural!
Half way -- going to call it a night -- it's been a long day :)
Sleep well, nan!
Nice odd one, sprite! Thanks!
Or perhaps I should say it IS a kind of boat...
So it is! There truly is a word for everything in English.
sprite you are truly a tease.....
You are both so right :) Harpjane: it sounds like it isn't a boat, but in fact it is. Does that help?
Had to stop and get the s 8 & 9 combo -- thanks, Sprite. Good night, all
goodnight, nan!
113... enough for me tonight, too! good night all.
Wow, you guys are so good at finding the big ones! Congrats!
I"m sure it will come to me in the morning. good night!
Night LeslieAnn, night harpjane!
Night Leslie! I think I may have to crawil off to bed too...and ponder those Ts that Deb found. (And it's always nice when I manage to be on when you are, Sprite.)
"Crawil" is what you do when you are very very tired, of course. And goodnight, harpjane!
Sweet dreams, melissa! Enjoyed your company too :)
Thanks, sprite. (By the way, you posted a poem a while back that I sent to a friend, who loved it. I love when you post poems.)
Gee, I'm not seeing boats or anything else 'cause my eyes are closing.... nite, all. Later.
Thanks! :) I love sharing. Good to know it travels on :)
I'll repost to thank you and for those who missed it. Then, I'm really off to bed! It All Comes Back To Me Not willing to be vicious, I lost my voice. Not wanting to be foolish, I lost my courage. Averse to being led, I lost my way. Unwilling to be like them, I forgot my name. Remembering now is blessing enough. Waking up groggy is still waking up. Victory Lee Schouten Wolf Love, Great Path Publishing, 2000
Night chic, sleep well!
beautiful...thanks
why is FEST never accepted? It's regular dictionary word!
Not in my dictionary. Only as suffix -fest. But I tried it too... couple of times ;)
Has anyone tried the Spanish version?
The party one?
uh-huh
Thanks, have now :D
yw :)
I think it's time for bed. I've tried to type fetish 3 times now. It's still not there, heh. G'night all.
LOL! Sleep well... I think 'fetish' was banned by the A8/50 campaigns, sorry!
hello hello what are we in for tonight ??
Hi Blaze! Some really nice words to find.
It seems to be sliding pretty good right now....
I am down to 19 and they are nasty, but so far it went smoothly!
all in a day Sprite....
In this stage the stats panel is such a big help!
That is a big truth.... I really like the stats panel that we see in Pro..... and BJ's list is a real time saver ....
It is great to jump in and find words but when it gets to the end of the puzzle BJ's list is a lifesaver!
Don't care much for the BJ list, that gives away too much to my liking. Almost never go to babanon. But when I hit those last few brick walls, I do love the panel. AND the clues in the log, of course :)
can i get a clue for the a9/102 please?
there are some days when I am super stressed that Bj's list just keeps my brain functioning...LOL
The log clues are great - some people express themselves so well. When I get to where I can do the puzzle without BJ's help it will be a big accomplishment.
A9 = plural for A7/60: ornament that conceals joints between tiles on the roof.
Things you secure before those joints :)
Thanks all!
Got to run off to take a shower. Back later, good hunting in the meantime :)
ta ta
Woof how goes it?
Woof Woof not too bad... Hope all is well with you...
Holy cannoli there are some long words in this!
Yes and I can not see any of them.... LOL
I saw one right off the bat, but then I checked the stats panel. Heck, when I show up at 11pm it's not because I really want to be challenged... :)))
I hear ya Griff
oops... the long one I saw isn't a word. I mean it IS a word but babble says no.
Yep Yep Yep.....
I hate this game.
Only the stupid head words....
Yes. I do like the bona fide, legitimate, and otherwise entirely righteous words.
Morning all - how many words today please?
176 wds
Four nine letter words.... owie
Thanks
Dang, I just saw another great 9-er that isn't there...
79 to go but must depart to curl up in bed....
'Night blaze - see you tomorrow!
69 words left to find. not too bad, I guess.
I should say not!
64 words to go, and I'm off to bed.
Night angel!
No way I am finishing this without BabAnon!! And it isn't up yet!!!.... boohoo!
It's a long slog for sure!
I have tried typing transexual about 5 times now... my husband is getting worried...!!
:))))
So far my big sense of accomplishment is that I got all the H's. Start small, I say.
.... that is a funny story in my household actually!
I'm listening!
well... my boyfriend (now husband) asked me to marry him... I said I had a confession!!!...... well..... he says "Are you going to tell me you were once a man?"..
Boy, they do have some large leaps in logic, don't they?
.......so what was your confession?
Griff... my confession was, I was still living with my ex-boyfiend when we started dating!!
A girl that keeps her "options", um, open...
...we were broken up and all, but I couldn't afford to move!!... my ex is my best friend... and my husband best friend too!!
Hey, that's better than I have it - all of my ex's hate me! The feeling is incredibly mutual. Finally - something we can really share!
LOL!!
My husband and my ex-boyfriend met for the first time just before the wedding, and they are now best of buddies!! They go to dinner, go out and play pool, won't tell me what they talk about... MAAKES ME CRAZY!!
Yeah, that's kinda creepy.
...for about a second, until you realize they never actually talk about YOU.
how true, how true! I am not that interesting!!
No, *they* aren't that interesting.
No brain, no pain, so sane, no blame!
There ya go. Now I realize I don't know either one of them, but would be willing to bet they have never really dished about you. That would be die of embarrassment, fall through the floor kinda stuff. Must be bad enough standing next to each other in the men's room...
<small woo-hoo> I got the I's...
hi folks :D ...just here for a little gentle babbling before I go out for the day...
hi sherb!
... actually, that would be 'if I find out you have been talking about me... you die a horrible, maggot-infested death! and that would be quicker!!"
:)))
(I keep trying EXISTENT)
hi Griff... it's called the triumph of hope over experience...
hello all, i was just wondering if someone would explain BabAnon to me please.....
Hmmmm. I think in that case the "oops, you stupid idiot" message should be accompanied by little horn toots. I think I will make that sound from now on.
Hi there - BabAnon is a gathering place to exchange personal messages and also where BrandyJack posts a lists of daily stats for the puzzle, as an aid to solving. Today's list, however, is not posted yet.
thank you
yw :)
...and I am searching Brandyjacks phone number in the book of heinous misgivings as we speak!!
:) I'm still plugging with the small stats - just got the U's
...although I do have all four 9's, if you'd like to slap me.
...(*slapped silly*)
*SLAP* 25 is too many A's...
43 is too many S's!
STATS IS UP !!!!! WOOOOOH HOOOOO!
oh gosh, and here I was hoping to go to bed... Actually I am. You ladies have fun and we'll see you tomorrow...
goodnight Griff, see you soon :D
bye griff
time for shopping... back later... bye...
this grid won't accept transeunt!! I am cross now!!
morning everyone :) ...different vowels after the s, mrp
thanks trish!!
yw, mrp... I spent an unnecessary amount of minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't plural it. It is to 'duh' :/
I have only one 9, the tr9/54. What are other 9's?
the se9 is a doozy!!
sorry, corps, only just got here... the t9 is all I've spotted so far.
thanks trish and mrp
se8 & 9 a big body of water + something that runs on tracks!
ty mrp :)
wow! odd words. thanks mrp!
I got the a9 too! need a clue?
YES! YES! YES! : )
an7 - against something an** - change the last vowel to 2nd vowel + repair (I have to f** the pipe) then add the plural for the 9
thanks mrp. I think I'll delay using that word in my vocab for when i am on my deathbed. Sheesh!
thanks again, mrp :) probably wouldn't have picked that out in an age of monkey-typing.
I think I will use it when I want to 'off' my husband... "deary... can you get on the roof and look at the an9... I know it is 180 gale out there, but...!"
ha

So you're a Piscean deep thinker..eh?
tbear, do you have the one word coming off the n on the 2nd row..... It's been slowly strangling my brain for a good 20 minutes now.....
Well, I am a Piscean, but I wouldn't say I'm very deep, in fact I can be quite aloof at times, and also unlike the fish that represent my birthsign, I can't even swim.....
Good Morning everyone, How is the puzzle?

Hi, Jera, not a bad puzzle, some interesting long words today
Have over half the words, gotta go. May be back later to finish.
I thought I was doing well on the A's until I checked the BA list, LOL!
I don't allow myself to chat or peek at the list until I'm halfway... much better scores when I postpone caht!

Ahem, on to the s's...
I was thinking people who like to take tests (which isn't a word, btw)... like exam groupies... too early to get that silly, I suppose...
you are trying to make them up as you go along now !
I know... the time will come for that, but I just started... too much caffeins, I guess...

I'm on the S's... going backwards!
Sheryl... just spotted it... think of flowery fabrics... IKEA said chuck out your ch****
ooohh....ty sherb :D
sherb ty was thinking of that word but thought it had a z in it
Welcome to the world of alternate spellings, Sheryl!
you're right Sheryl, it does have a Z... haven't seen this spelling before...
lol and I used to complain about the difference between British english spelling and American english spelling go figure
Many interesting Brit words crop up in this game... I don't much care for the foreign coins, though, doesn't seem right...
one of the things I've noticed since playing Babble is that differences between British and American English are far fewer than I would have expected... at least in writing...
guess because I am Canadian and I play alot of on line scrabble and crosswords and such I notice the difference
Aw man, I hate it when I mess up my list... I already had the silly st5/10 I was looking for... I need the last one, not the first one... grrrrrr!
those CH's are tough...
there's 3 ch's I can't find !
have you got the Indian condiment?
can't fit it in !
change the Y to an E for the singular, and pluralise...
got ch***....then lost it
GOT IT....GOT IT....ty ty ty blowing kisses !!
just didn't think about that 'e' in the bottom corner !....I wanted to put the 'i' in !!
and there's a ch7 which is someone who jumps from an aircraft...
thats it....thats them all....how did you know the ones I needed ?....
spooky, isn't it? ...actually, they were the ones I got stuck on, so I looked them up in A2Z, lol :D
LOL ....sherb..... you should'nt have told me....I would have continued to be filled with aw* !!!
story of my life... too honest for my own good...
DONE...anyone need a clue?
Congrats Oiuw !!!.... :D
wow! ...there's an a9 that scores 102 points!!
sherb...an9 is the plural of the an7 just above it

Aw bear, still having a rough time?? I'm okay....'poppet' is a bit hyped as she has just returned from a party (her social life is better than mine!) : )
'afternoon all. I get the impression that the theme for today is signs of the zodiac. As I was born on the cusp of virgo and libra would that make me a well balanced virgin?
Frances is there any such thing??

good good hurshy - i'm slowing fast at 149 & family will want feeding soon - aaagh!!
i need a couple more to hit 100, then i will prob turn to the list.
i'm at 148 you're ahead of me, zoom!
tee hee, not too much fresh air between us though & i have to admit i've already turned to the list :(
oh, long ago for me :)
there, 100, now i feel justified in listing. :)
that's good to hear, i feel like a bit of a lightweight these days - so many clever people managing without it!
well, i found the other day that i COULD - but it's more of a once-in-a-while challenge. :)
i don't have that kind of time! :)
Godd morning, good morning!
no, it's bad enough with the list, i'd end up welded to the pc without it, but i am soooo pleased - i just found a tr9 on my own!!! never been done before!
great job zoom!
hi bunny. nice goat.
hey bunny. :)
[waves at trotters] hullo fellow Sag!
that "a" up in the corner looks like a pain...
darleen - trotters left :(
oh drat. oh well.
it is, bunny!
hi. Just got off work; had to help manage the aftermath of a power failure that created a backlog of work.
greetings, angelsong
anyone like to offer a clue for es6?
es + form of transportation with the a
Alternative spelling of female hormone
got it, and remembered to do the o version too, go me!
thanks for the clues!
anyone have the tr 9/66? does it build off the 7?
Can anyone help with the first ar7? It's my last word
Yoink - superlative of arty
yoink, add a letter in the middle of the 6... it's a "most" word
yoink - the most oriented towards painting, sculpture...
Good Morning Everyone
ok, seem to be stupid about e 6's today - ex6?
Thansk LeslieAnn, Haz and Hurshy, can't believe I missed that one!
btw, hello haz, yoink, cnan!
I'm celebrating today --- my new PC finally arrived!
leslie ann - tr9 doesn't build off the 7 but first 5 letters are the same, then add an mu4/6.
how nice, cnan :)
aha, thanks zoom - take that, 9's!
ex 6 - stage direction or latin for they exit
Hi Hurshy! Just remembered to change my icon
thanks haz - can't believe i missed that - i always LOVED that word when we read shakespeare in school
What day, Hurshy (we share the same sign)? -- the 14th for me
hurshy - ex6 is a stage direction telling actors to leave the stage
i'm jul 27
Time for food - be back later!
I'm off too now, bye all!
And just what is wrong with chianti?!
last two: fi 6 and 7
LA: spanish party, and pl
just had to ask for a clue... got 'em! done! anyone need clues?
wtg leslie ann!!
congrates leslie! leslie is one of my favorite names, btw.
thanks, hurshy!
although i can't *totally* take credit for that ;)
lol, of course - but you can bask in it.
Leslie, you a capricorn too?
Hi everyone, I am back. It is a rainy, gray, windy day here. Perfect for babbling.
keep wanting to put "fishnets" in. Or is that just my warped little mind again? Evening all! ;)
yup. dec. 24
uhmmm, warped mind?
woohoo! no more A's to find!
How odd, me too! Christmans Eve baby, get jipped every year!
hiya, does anyone know if bobster chats on here? I've been on here nealy all afternoon and I've only found 62-how sad is that!!!!!
oh neat, you are exactly 2 years older than me. yup, it is very convenient for people to forget or double up on christmas eve!
Burnsie, haven't seen him/her. That's pretty good, rough grid today (the a is evil).
burnsie, have you been to babblers anonymous? link is to the right. if you click on it, then general, then stats, you will get a first and second letter breakdown, it helps immensely
I'll walk in the family get togethers and see everyone think "oh crap!". They run over a write happy birthday on a present or palm me some cash... my husband even forgot one year!
Only got the link for this site yesterday,so I'm gonna need loads of practice, just thought my vocab was better than today has proved!!!!!
haha bunny... although i do like the fact that i've never had to do a thing on my birthday (work, school etc.)
You'll come to memorize bunches of words. My first grid took me all day!
an7/48 and an8/50 anyone?
anyone know what the largest number of words in any grid has been? I've seen 302.
I remember one that was over 400!!
I usually spend the day cooking and mad - wrapping last minute gifts! I'm insisting on a party when I turn 30 though, it is right around the corner <tearing up>.
there was one day that was like 400-something, i got up to 375 before midnight, considered that a great accomplishment!
Think the biggest one I've seen was 460 - something.
an 7 and 8 are both "against," let's say, porn
oe 7/28? I have trouble when the only word in a category is seven letters long. No point of reference, etc. Thank you!
gooday...anyone have a clue for the last st5?
bunny i am still adjusting to being in the "upper 20s" (one of these days i am going to have to consider myself an adult!)
LeslieAnn, thanks got the 7, looking for the 8
jane do you have the e 6? just add an o to the front
angelsong - the biggest grid so far was 474 words. A real monster. Only remember cos I finished it! Took me all day and felt like quite an achievement!
tim, oe is a variant spelling of the es6/18
last st 5 - s + what men wear around their necks
I have that one leslieann
thank you LeslieAnn I hadn't even noticed that! I'll be evn more hooked now!! :)
whoops sorry tim didn't see my last one - go to the top right-hand corner for the rest of the letters
finally - 176words!!! can i help anyone?
I don't have the e's yet, leslieann, but that gives me hope! I just checked my all time points, with today's score added in I break 200,000! Gotta get a cake in the oven before I babble any more.
peri it's an 4 + sm 4
thanks, LeslieAnn
well seeing as it's almost 1 p.m. i guess i should go take a shower and start my day... bye all!
congrats zoom.....
bye leslieann - enjoy your day :)
thanks tbear - first time i've finished in ages :)
Bye Leslie
all done me.
Congrats, hurshy!!!
hour and ten minutes - i really need to start keeping track of wpm.
thanks, peri.
hurshy, that's how long it took you to finish? that's great!
yes. but i just realized, keeping track might be misleading, since some days i am more determined to find things myself, and some days i am just tired and use morewords.com for some of the words, etc. oh well.
I like onelook.com's reverse dictionary
and I use a-z sometimes too
found one of the ch7/40 having to do with jumping out of a plane, any clues for the other ch7/40
a2z is blocked here, i don't even know what it is like.
the other ch7 is an alt spelling of a sort of sauce - like maybe you would have a mango ch*****
I don't understand why is a-z blocked where you are? It is a great site where you can look up words with just the first two letters available
i live at a boarding school - lots of things are blocked - i don't always know the reason. it can be irritating though, as a faculty member, i don't know why they don't have separate blockers for students. i can't even order victoria's secret products online!
hurshy, thought that was what the 2nd ch7 was but can't seem to spell it to be accepted
hurshy, you must be very young then
double e at the end
Just realized that you are not one of the students :)
well i'm sort of young, but no, i'm faculty, not student. i'm 28.
28 is young!
Thanks, hurshy got the sauce and its plural. You are very young. My niece is your age.
yes but not boarding school young. :)
clues for the ch8/50?
besides, as i've told babbler and easternblue and whoever else was here that day...i'm old at heart.
peri - pl of 6/24
thanks hurshy, got it
the ch 7/40 (not the one with the 8), I htink Peri said had to do with jumping from plane..I just can't get it! I can imagine what the first 4 letter are...but?
never mind...
bunny, think of the person who does the jumping from the plane
ty though
NP, I often ask for clues and then find the word by myself.
peri I did that myself three times earlier
I am getting really annoyed with the "oops"
time for another break
bunny....for that ch7 think along the lines of what someone who plays the flute is called...
I know what you mean, i didn't like x's before, now I really don't like x's!!!
t-bear, are you a christmas eve baby too?
Ohh, I got it right after I asked, but thank you! Working on ex 6 now.
bunny I'm 30th but my daughter was due on xmas eve and kindly came on the 14th
how many words has every 1 got if dnt mind telling me
Got 175 words. Off to eat dinner now. Will find the last one later.

altho...being goats should really be at the top of a slippery slope!!
we have no rear hooves!!!!
an7/60 - use a 4 letter word meaning before (an4/4) plus word meaning repair. Then pluralise
all of those you're needing Billie start with a tiny black insect with vowel on the end and then work with another word for mend F3
Ah....good thinking batman......um
oe7???????
Ah, Tim - you won't know about this yourself. Female hormone.
oe + another word for thread without the g at the end

Thanks again -- once more I was going in the wrong direction!
can u plz be a bit more specific with the clue 4 at 5/10
billie think trio but change the last letter
at 5/10 add three letters that are the ending of woman's name Ma***
Oh thank godness, I'm done!! It's beyond me why I feel I HAVE TO FINISH!!!!
going off to cry quietly in corner now
I have a suggestion for icons.
Yeah.....Baaaah......for Bunny
What? I think bab's has filled up the date to early March.
tell me how do u find the answers or clues to help with this puzzle i have been playing a couple of days and i cant get more than 40-50 words i never complete the puzzle its hard sum 1 plz help me
Billie, bab anon works wonders. Knowing how many points there are to a word helps. The definitions are linked to the words with the question marks beside them.
how about cartoon characters for icons?
We did the super heros and villians, but cartoon would be cute too!
Billie, first of all don't worry too much if you find it difficult. Lots of the words are not in common use and we therefore rely on some help. The first port of call is Babbler's Anonymous - see the link on the right hand side. If you go to general, then stats, you'll find a list of 2nd letters and values to help us know what we're looking for. Other aids include www.a2zwordfinder.com which lists lots of words. The other way of finding words is to ask for clues.
Way to go...bunny....why are you crying hun??
Also Billie, once you've been playing awhile, you learn alot of the common, but no so common words. They appear over and over.
My eyeballs hurt!! I don't know why I found this grid so horrid today! tears of relief and joy...
The other thing to remember is that this is supposed to be fun - so don't get too stressed out. Some of the players are a lot older and a lot more competitive. Go at your own pace.
Who says we can't repeat a theme, anyway? Hi all -- been lurking while feeding son and distracting daughter :)
LOL Haz, oops!
Hi Grey, how's the liitle one doing? And yourself?
GreyWould congratulation to you and your good lady
congratulations GreyWoulf....
Billie -- have you found the two letter word list at the Babblers Anonymous site yet?
Billie im new at this acouple of month now ,finnished only one so far ,but get about 100or so each day , and its fun even if you dont finnish, the players in here are the best ,always willing to help.
Thank you tbear :) We are all doing well, though Kirsten is sleeping poorly due to abnormally high temps --- And Kristianna is having way too much fun being a big sister!
Billie ..... a2z is wonderful it helps me alot
billie, I'm fairly new here. what I did was to go to BA and look under How-tos. There is a link called Toolbox; if you open that link, there are several very helpful tools you can use (links to dictionaries and such.) I collected all of these resources, plus links to the rules and stats pages and put them all on a personal webpage I store on my hard drive. The page opens in my browser. That way, everything is just a click away.
Greywoulf...hard work but happy times :)
Thank you Tim :) Ok, I fed the son, now it is time to have lunch with my daughter -- back later ;)
GW: howdy, from Texas, y'all. Glad to know you are all well and happy.
Bye, take care
Thats a swindle - why cant I have trainset!!
Angel, you're right down the road from me, kinda... I miss my little ones being little, but I'm sure glad I'm done with diapers!
stuck on the ch 7's and 8's (have the one that jumps) -- help please?
That's what my husband says every Christmas...
Dunno Deena, I wonder why word with hyphens are included, as well as ones without definitions!
the ch 7 and 8 are variations on the spelling of a preserve. Use double vowel at the end.
ch 7/8 A warm or spicy condiment or pickle made in India, compounded of various vegetable substances, sweets, acids, etc.
Nice one Haz!!
Ty, Haz... ch 8/50 (the first one)?
Bunny, I"m in Austin...so the road may be pretty long.
I'm just west of Fort Worth. Used to make it to Austin to have some fun on 6th street every now and then. In fact, my daughter had a field trip pretty soon to see the state capital.
ch 8/50 - strange word! Take your ch4/6 (bottom of your face) and add the fly that causes a tropical disease, then pluralise.
or plural the 6/24 above it
Ty, again, Haz
You're welcome!
Haz I think it's the word we normally spell with a z instead of s.....furnishing material
es 6?
I better jet, sink full of dishes with my name on them! See ya'll tomorrow, take care!
Yes, I think you're right tbear.
es 6 is a variant spelling of oe 7 - a female hormone.
bunny....see ya 2moro girl
Bye, Bunny
bye bunny
ex6????
ex 6 is a stage direction meaning 'they leave'
tahnx haz 8-)
gotta go for now....back to finish later....bye.
see you later in the middle Tim!!
Glad to help, Tim. And now, as the Scots say ' I must awa'!' My husband has invited someone for lunch tomorrow, despite the fact that the house decorating isn't finished! I'm off to make my starters and pudding.
ex 6? -- I know how it begins (4/9) and I think it must have a latin ending, but still can't find it!
It has a latin ending - it begins with the ex but then becomes an anagram of tune.
Bye Haz -- thanks for the help. :)
Oops, I typed a word by mistake! Hope you all get finished.
Haz, well next time you type a word, would you type one I don't have yet? (hee hee hee)
still no luck -- oh well, I'll leave it for a while -- sure wish I'd taken latin at some point in my life!
cnan - add not your uncle but your... only change the a to an e
Hi again -- Kristianna is being fussy so she get to sit at the table til she eats her food, which means I get some uninterrupted grid time :)
ch?????? - Indian spice? Another clue?
it's a sweetish spicy Indian condiment served as a "side" with meat . . .
or with cheese
ids--one of the major brands is Major Grey's Ch*****
Oh, whew! -- thanks, Hurshy.
Hi Une -- you are sorta in the grid today! :D
sorry, meant lds, not ids
how about this - same first 4 letters as prev ch's, but then add the 3 letter word that is used to indicate what a woman's maiden name was, and then pl for the 8
lds -- it's a variant spelling ending in double vowel -- usually ends in y
also re the ch word, this is an alternate spelling . . .
ah, GW, great minds!
hurshy are you a leo also
that is correct shorty
Thats the best part of the game, Une -- there are so many great minds in one place! ;D
need an st5/10 that fits between the st4/8s, please and thank you.
last tr9?
in a song sung by frankie avalon to frenchie in "grease" - "join the st5 pool..."
Angel -- have only just started on the 2nd letter list so I don't know if I have it or not ;)
to change something. take the 5 letters you know and add unable to speak.
AAargh -- and I used to watch Battle of the Planets religiously when I was a kid!!! (Of course, once I discovered the original Gatchamon anime, I realised how poorly they were translated back then)
Thank you Hurshy -- another great clue (tr 9)... I have finished!! -- Back after lunch :)
you get the st, angel?
yep, got it. now working on se8 and se9.
hint angel: although you know the first four letters, it is a compound of the 3 letter word at the beginning and a 5
got them both before i read your clue, Hurshy
well that's good. i just remember i was misled for awhile assuming it would be the four and another four.
Hi guys, just popped in to do a few words before more chores...
bonjour, chic
sorry but i did not understand the se 8 and se 9 clue... may i have another hint, please.... thanks
i was saying that if you have the se4 and se5 that go around the 8 and 9, you may think that se8 is a compound of se4 and some other four letter word, when in fact it is a compound word made of the first three letters of se4 and a five letter word.
if you don't get that, well, ocean + locomotive
se= ocean + choochoo
thank-you, i am a total idiot.... thanks again
hackerly -- do not talk about yourself that way -- we all have days where we can't see the simplest words despite the plethora of clues that others provide us :)
thanks Woulf... i play along side of my boyfriend who likes to think he is better at this game then I am... so i am constantly trying to outplay him thanks again
what's your bf's screen name - we'll taunt him mercilessly for you...
get prepared to laugh at his nerdiness... it is "wickedbowler" hahahahah
got it - wickedbowler is now on my list.
Friendly competition is one thing, losing self esteem over a game is another, ackerly --- don't worry, you're part of our pack now...right, hurshy? ;D
yah... thanks, I need that...
LOL, of course GW. just wait until wickedbowler asks for a clue...
he suffers from "only-child syndrome" he can't stand to lose
hey that's what dr. phil was about yesterday - people who are too competitive
that is John...
Well, I am an only child as well -- that doesn't wash with me :) hurshy -- LOL, I could feel your wicked grin from here :D
I;m not seeing the si 4/5... well, I see one, but it won't accept it
you know me too well, GW. but, yeah, being too competitive isn't bc of being an only child. one pair of people on yesterday were twins who were very competitive with each other.
si 4/5, the bad guys in a Star Wars movie, Revenge of the ***
one si4 is a location, like a construction si4 the other is a star wars word...vader...etc
why will i never learn to pay attention to the point values people are talking about?
TY - Didn't realize it was an actual word.
well it has alot to do with his mother.... my nephew is an only child and is able to lose
hackerly - if you go to dr. phil's website you can get a tape or transcript of yesterday's show. :)
he is very spoiled and has a hard time sharing.... but it is okay... i love him anyways
Hey all... how goes the battle?
hursh -- it comes of wanting to help too much at times that we forget to confirm scores before typing ;)
the battle's over, the victory's won, and now we help our comrades-in-arms....
more or less effectively depending on how over-eager we are
Congrats, hurshy! Clue for tr9/66 please and thanks?
tr 9/66 clue at 2:47
You are a good person, hurshy! I'm simply bored on a dull rainy afternoon so I'm here to hang out & chat... be glad to help if I can...
oh, i'm not good, i'm bored too. sitting playing letter linker - a similar game - and giving clues as i can...
Raining by you too, Jera :) -- today started out grey and dreary and proceeded downhill from there
can anyone give me clues for the se's driving me nuts need the se 9/ 54, se 5/ 16 and the last se 4/4 got all of the other 7 four letter four pointers, also need se 7/ 48 and the se 6/ 36. Any help with any of those would be aprreciated
Yup, guess we used up our January sunshine...
se 9/54 pl of 8/40
se 5/16 pl of se 4/7
ty hurshy
se 4/4 change the last letter of the se 4/4 right next to it
se 7/48 hottest se 6/36 - a person who is se 6/33 is operating under this philosophy
THanks, Hurshy - got it. Chic, what star sign are you?
Hurshy, that would be pisces.... how about ch 8/50?
ch 8/50 pl of ch 6/24
sorry, ch1212
no worries, Chic -- your icon looks like a star -- mine is actualy a photo of the star Virgo.
thanx, hurshy! ch1212, what sign are you?
ahem, if i may, i think that would be virgo...
last icon I had was a tattoo of 2 fish and people were thinking it was mine, so I switched. Never been to Virgo..;-)
hi all, I'm back
yo yo yo sup doxy
not much, how bout you?
It's a beautiful place, Chic -- of course the planetary system orbiting the star, that is. :)
oh, um, nothing here either.
how does it compare to risa, ch1212?
I would love to see the horsehead star nebulae; ooo the colors!!!
Ah, Risa! I see I've found a fellow ST believer. Loved the recreational pursuits on Risa! :)
there is a web site that you can see a different picture everyday, usually from hubble or nasa. They have some really cool pictures of nebulae, and star systems.
Seriously, though -- the Horsehead Nebula is awesome, and the Crab Nebula. The hubble.com site is one of my favorites.
as long as you don't accidentally get more than you bargained for due to your first officer's trickery...
an7/48?
I'm also on the NASA update list, and receive 3-4 emails a week with updates on the current missions, planned events, and so on. What Astronomy magazine doesn't cover, I get from NASA
an 7/48 - on risa they are definitely NOT an 7/48.... against intercourse
I get space update every day from space.com; they have lots of great pics too.
(waving) - hi everyone!
hi circe *waving back*
greetings, circe, lovely daughter of the sun
*waves* --Hi, circe!
Thanks, chic -- I'll check it out. Okay, 4 more left to find. Any assistance for two of the te6/18 - not the men's genitals?
ty, I feel so loved. Hope you are all doing wonderfully today.
first is latin pl of prev te5 then is same first 4 with double vowel at end
Too fast for me, hurshy! ch1212 -- um, what hurshy just said ;D
LOL - GW, it's prob that you were busy protecting yourself lest circe turn you into an actual wolf...
here's the horsehead neb.
No worries there, hursh -- actually it was cos I am trying to figure the an8 -- I thought the 7 would give it to me ;)
:) Circe is much more interested in babbling today than turning anyone....besides..with those beautiful kiddos...who could think of such a thing with GW???
well in idea it is a little related, but not in letters. have you got sm4? it's against that...
That's why I wasn't worried, circe -- I was banking in the cute kid card ;)
*a little disappointed that no men are being turned into animals*
thanks hursh -- that was my last one so I am done!!
very pretty nebula btw chic!
well.....i do enjoy turning them into swine....
Hi everyone, finally got that stupid ex6 using onelook.com reverse dictionary
maybe just one for you hurshy
sadly, we don't have any men around besides GW.
you mean turn them into other animals, don't you?
hursh -- your main problem is that Babble attracts the wrong caliber of male -- most of us have risen above our baser nature and are thus protected from involuntary transformation :D
oe7/28???
LOL GW - so you're saying what we need is a well-timed troll to show up now
well, hurshy, it really isn't much of a chore to be honest...many of them (certainly not our babble friends) are so close to swine..that ...well...it can be hard to notice the change! :)
chic with the zinger...
oe 7: female hormone
TIM! jk. add the o onto your es6
oh my, i am so amused.
missing a ch5/14, have the one that is under my lower jaw (except I have only one :)
well, which do you have, the country/dishes, or the pl?
nevermind, just found it.
Peri -- do you have the one you eat off of?
help with last fe5/16
fe 5/16 - pl
cybernan, yes, that was the one I just found

ty
One more question on the oe word. Does it end in "n"?
Yes. The oe word does end with an n.
ty
yw. anytime
Can I have a clue for an 8 50 and ar 7 28 please...
an 8/50 is being against Obscenity in speech or writing.
there are 2 t/28's.
ar 7/28 ... one is A skilled public performer or entertainer, especially a singer or dancer. and the other is the "most" that is of or related to the fine arts
Just got back from Bingo night at my grandsons' school. I am stuck on the ex 6. I think I have monkeytyped every possible combination, but obviously there's one I'm missing--the right one. Help please.
ex6...stage direction indicating that two or more performers leave the stage
That's a tough one munner. It's a stage direction meaning two or more actors leave the stage at the same time. It does not use the 3rd vowel.
Malars Thank you I got the ar one but still can't get the an one I know the first 5 letters but am missing it somehow when i am monkey typing.
the an one is a two part word. the first part is being against something...add an s...and then think of a mixed breed dog
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Good evening/afternoon/morning all, depending on where in the world you are. Well, this has been quite an 'earthy' grid - a good thing for a Taurean like me. Yes, the words came easily. However, some hours ago, before my evening meal here in UK, I said I had one word left to find and I would be back to find it. HUUMPH! Came back to find my dearly beloved boyfriend had found it for me. 'I've finished your grid,' he said. Now, if that isn't grounds for ripping out the last page of the book he's currently reading (and probably the next 2 he intends to read) then I don't know what is!
Jac: Just the next time he is really into a book, and can't wait to get back to it ~~ hide it. Then he will know how you feel tonite.
Hi Jac. Ugh that would be irritating.
Hi JoJo. Yes, you're right. I could never do anything so sacrilegious as tearing out a book page (unless it was a really bad book).
Hi MusicMom. Yes, it was rather. BTW, my last word was the last st5/10.
I don't know if I have that one or not. We are watching a friend's two year old and he is currently "helping" me with bab anon list. He is currently across the room showing it to my husband.
MM - you might be surprised at the words he may find for you!
He probably monkey types better than me.
Last st5/10 - A thin, narrow groove or channel.
OOOO thanks - No I didn't have that one.
hi all - having trouble with the ch words inbetween the thing at the bottom of your face and the stuff you throw in to attract sharks . . . any help?
y/w MM. Anyone need any more clues?
can i get a hint for the 5th se 5? (se 5/10) It's my last one.
ch5/14 - what your grannie's best teaset is made from, bone ch***.
5th se5 - is plural of the se4/4 that you sit on.
Jacula - sorry, I meant the ones below several things at the bottom of your face (well, not your face, but someone's) :o)
Thx Jac, got the bone ch***.
Thank you. but that is the first se 5.
LOL gumpunk re the bottom of the face things. Well right below those are a very weird single and a plural way of spelling 'stiff, flowery curtain or upholstery material'.
Sorry! 5th se5 is the 'It's been posted' se4 word above with the 3rd vowel at the end.
Hi everyone,' 39 left to go but my body is telling me that it is time to put the mouse down and walk away. Does it seem to anyone else that there are a lot of Capricorns and Cancers and not so many Sagitarians?
Got it. Thank you...that one was a bugger.
Hi, Eva. I haven't been back over the log to study the sun signs yet.
Eva: I am a sagitarian, but yes.
tr 9/54 ?
i'm a virgo....8)
tr9/54 - Remaining in a place only a brief time.
Thanks Jac
tr 9/54 To change from one form, nature, substance, or state into another OR meaning to go across quietly.
tr 9/54 - what we call the street people
Hiya, Ren. This isn't Oprah, you know. ROFLOL.
I thought I had typed that a long time ago. Must have seen it but not put it in.
ooops, my hint was for tr 9/66. sorry about that.
hey mistress!!!! i just stood up and said it didn't i!!!
Ren - Indeed you did! MM - I do that many times in a day; 'see it but don't put it in'.
mslars - no matter. Your clue will probably help others reach both words.
My eyes want "stint" to be in the puzzle today. I bet I have typed it 50 times.
MM - someone else, can't remember who now, has been trying on 'fishnets' since they first set eyes on the grid.
Hello everyone!
hehe. That should have been in yesterday's puzzle. I can see how you could "see" that though.
The 1st word I saw was nu4/5, followed by se7/48. From then on it was all downhill to the very last word, we4/8. LOL.
hey mrp!!!!
Hello mr.p
Hiya Mr.Pres.
Hi Mr. P.
this is a nice little game... only 20 to find! Jac, JoJo, haven't seen you for a while
jojo - are you ready for tomorrow?
MrPres - we're here to help, if you need any.
Mr. P: I was on the grid last night, you weren't tho. Where have u been?
I haven't been playing for a couple of weeks... but have finished the last 2 grids and hopefully this one.
Ren: As much as I can be. Probably going to the local bar with friends, and watch it. Always nice to be with a screaming, drunk bunch of people at a superbowl party. Not that I would ever be one of those. TeeHee, teehee. Go Seahawks.
How's the weather JoJo?
Mr. P: Glad to have you back chatting.
Musicmom: It was dreadful today. Woke up this morning at 5:30 because our bedroom was shaking. Couldn't sleep after that. Lots of wind and rain, but no down trees on our property, or weren't out of power either, which was really surprising. It is about over now, so will be able to see the SB game.
That's sounds horrible this morning. Glad things should be calmer for tomorrow. And very glad you didn't lose power.
Speaking of tomorrow, what is the theme?
05 Feb: Miyavi_Fan's birthday (Fmitch) 06 Feb: Full Evening Dress (Babbler) 07 Feb: Characters from your favourite computer games (Anj) 08 Feb: Roadsigns (Anj) 09 Feb - Evanadine's Birthday - "what would you give evanadine for her b'day?" (Evanadine) 10 Feb - Mythical Creatures (Jera)
Musicmom: SuperBowl, what else?
Tomorrow's theme is: Miyavi_Fan's birthday (Fmitch)
YEY! I was hoping it was that.
Pleeze guys. Superbowl!!!
Anyone else need clues?
I dont' know much about her. Which birthday is it? A significant one or any birthday. Hey, btw, thanks for posting that list. Is it at Babanon?
Could I get a clue for the se 6/36 and In 4 // not the moey or holiday rest spot
MM - 14th birthday, I think.
an9/102 has to be the most word score I have done!
se6/36 - Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
Haven't got that one yet MrP. Congrats!
se6/36 same as se6/33 but change the last letter to m
we can keep icons ready and play switch -a - roo!!!
in4/6 - what you don't want to add to your hips or your waist (Imperial measurement).
sa 8/55?
Hello, how about a clue for the te 6/18; I have the one who istaking exams and the male repro. stuff
musicmom - plural of what is on a gun to keep it from going off
sa8/55 - Devices designed to prevent accidents, as locsk on a firearm to preventing accidental firing.
those te's end in ae, ee & es
hats off to mrp and what's your sign?
Thank you!
Chic - Sorry to have to say this, but those te's are all a load of balls.
Libra! Thank you! You're Welcome AND I AM FINISHED!!!
Jac, LOL!
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR MRPRES*~*~*~*~
this whole grid was programmed for reproduction.. Congrats, mrp!
Nite Mr. P.
chic... those an7/8 are against reproduction of any kind!!
Oh Jac... They are so good to see *~*~fireworks!~*~* for me!?
so they say! just have 9 to go and gotta go in 7 min.!
go Chic! what do you need?
tr 9/54?
tr5/10 + mu4/6
Yes, Mr. Pres. *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR YOU*~*~*~*
Thx Mr. P. Don't leave us tonite, your clues are soooo good.
the other tr 9 and tw 5/12
Mr. Pres - that was tr9/66. The other tr9 is more like 'across a holy man' but spelled differently.
YW!
take the tr5/10 add 3rd vowel then 2nd vowel, then throw in a 'nt' at the end for good measure
LOL - I said earlier that either clue for the tr9 would work for the other.
tw5/12 take the tw4 above it and plural
I think that is a tw5/18 with the plural
Mr. Pres. U R Gr8!!! Thx
Jac, they work for either, you are right!
would anyone like any of the large (or small) word clues before I 'abandon' you!?
I thought I was done but have 3 to go now and the movie is starting... si 5/20
si5/20 more than one 6
What movie is that, Chic?
si5/20 - 'All at si*** and sevens!'
Yes Mr P: Clues for the es6/18 would be nice before you abandon us.
DONE!!! the movie is "Upside of Anger" with kevin Costner (on HBO tonite) see you at the flip and that's for the help and fish!!!
es6 es + what choo choos on a track, take the 'a' out of it
es6/18 think female hormones
bye Chic, enjoy!
es6/18 - A female hormone, usually spelled with an 'o'.
*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR CHIC*~*~*~*~
Got it guys, Thx.
How about a clue for ch8/55?
ch8/55 is the plural of ch7/40 and is an alternate spelling of that east Indian salsa?
The ch's re Indian reslish, are daft spellings. However, think of an ingredient you might add to a cheese sandwich or a curry - mango, onion or (in UK) Branston ch****y.
Hey guys. My 2 year old pal just left and I'm exhausted. Headed to bed. See you all tomorrow. i should have more time to play now that the competition is over.
'Bye MM.x
later mm!!!
Anyone have a clue for an9/102?
Quick - plural of an7/60.

We had amazing wind storms today, up to 70 MPH gusts which for the city is big time stuff. It was a great day to stay warm inside and we didn't even loose power...no popsicles though...still only upper 30s F outside
hi all, anyone have any clues for ar 7/28 in 4/4 and 5/10 and lastly ni 5/12...would greatly appreciate it!

Anyone else need clueing in?
42 mins before close of grid. $5 for a 4 clue, $6 for a 5 clue, $100 for a 9 clue. ROFLOL.
helloooooooo!
Hi Temple!
Hiya Temple. Feeling rich? (If that's not too personal a question. LOL.) Sorry! British sense of humour there.
Jac...no clueing in needed w/ regard to babble :) 7 left for me!
jacs??? how's the household. woulfie?
kristi -- does that mean you need clues that don't relate to Babble? Those do cost a bit more ;D (LOL)
Temple - by way of explanation - How is Richard? Do you know anyone called Richard? LOL.
household is doing well, kristi -- feeding Sebastian at this very moment :)
GW...:). We all get that kind of help just by hanging out here. And no one has ever charged me...yet. :)
kristi -- I never specified the medium of exchange ;)
Jac! I do need one last clue, I'm sure it is easy but I'm stumped. The se 5/10 (last one) sandwiched inbetween the two pairs of se 4/4s. Thanks!
Enening all. That time again. All done but 4. Your help please. ch 7/40 ch 8/55 se 5/12 wa 4 Please I need to get to bed.
GW...so when our first baby is born in another 6 months, I can come callin'?
jacs - have a heart...i am sitting here discovering that bacardi silver and brownies do not mix...
last se5/10 --variant spelling of to take -- usually in the context of to se*** ones assets
Sure thing, kristi -- I have no aversion to meeting my Babble friends in the flesh -- I just don't have anywhere I can put you up -- but I can price the local hotels for you
GW...quite the offer. Babble chat support is much more economical, don't you think?
hoot -- for the se5/12 change the last letter of the 10 before it to an m
Kirstinc - LOL. YOu can call for a coffee and a chat in the garden. Local hotels are wonderful.:-)
I'm dense tonight, another angle on the se 5/10? Even with the obvious 3rd letter, I got nothin'!
ok jacs - be mean to the tipsy old lady : P
Hiya Hoot. ch7/40 - Indian relish with a difference. Think 'mango ch***y' but knock off the 'y' and make a double vowel at the end.
That did it! All done!
Thank you very much!!!
Temple - I would NEVER be mean to a tipsy old lady! x
yeah hoot! I was hurting my brain trying to think of how to clue the wa4s. Glad you got 'em!
bacardi does go well with cheesecake however...
Most of the good ones were monley-typed! Rediculous. Real words are not valid and odd letters are.
Hoot, me darlin'., that's the way the Babble cookie crumbles.
Yayyyyy for hootowl!!!!!! (*HUG*)
That was supposed to be monkey! Told you I was tired! TO do they still have Bacardi Dark in your neck of the woods? Wanted to make a Bacardi cake for xmas and no one here knew what I was talking about!
Even tried 101. Drunken cake - no rum taste!
Hootowl curtseys politely while accepting the accolades of the one.
hoot i don't know...do you know anyone who is going to jamaica?
finally got the se 5/10 and I'm done, hooray!
well done kristi - and hoot!
I'm laughing! I don't think anyone here ever heard of Jamaica! Fraid not.
well i think i'll toddle off and come back for the flip, since i'm awake...bbl
hoot - where ARE you???
only 9 s words to go...
way to go kristin!
