Waiting for stats, then it's beddy-bye time.
Oops, I mean Ballet Day!
Hey, who are you calling a bug?
And I didn't even try! Dr_God provided us with another too addictive game, I see... baaaad Dr_God!
87 words, it's doable
hehehehehe!
Jete'!
jb what is your pic of? i can't tell
Looks like a dancing pig to me :)
it's a flying cat
ok, that's what i thought too, either that or a cat... just couldn't tell if my eyes were getting crossed and weird this late!
In that case... I'd better say I meant a dancing pic :D
le/6 24
Oops, sorry, was typing in (whoo hoo, 15 words so far) It's a ballerina cat in full fling!
Yup, definitely bedtime - goodnight!
'nite, JB
g'night jb!
Sleep well, JB!
Good evening friends :)
od/6 24
Well, no more puzzling for me for a while now, my son is ill. Poor kid, firy red cheeks from the flue. Back later, when he will be asleep again. Happy hunting all!
Sprite -- another game from Dr. G?
hi all!!
hey cj
nan: yes, the iron sudoku. See add at the top of this log.
http://www.ironsudoku.com/
Oh -- I'm terrible at sodoku!
al 6/21
Hello everyone. Puzzle seems easier tonight.
up 6/21
A8/50 Place where I like to spend time and money :)
Gone again, back later!
Is Funkylady on here?
half way and too tired to go on -- see you tomorrow. Hope your son is feeling better soon, Sprite. Good night, all.
g'night nan
I'm calling it a night. 'nite, all!
Hi jpc1966
oh come on. spidal -- having the characteristics of a spider. duh.
d6/24
hello everyone you are so funny i have 39 left
How may words are in the puzzle? Thanks. Seems to be easy tonight. I am almost finished.
sprite im wondering where you like to spend money, aljewelry store alrestaurant alboutique alspizza hmmm
Sandyloo - do you know how many words are in the puzzle? I don't think there is anyone here tonight.
87 words kraj
yes sprite, i've been wondering too. a*******
its the middle of the day here im hoping the aussie brigade will come on
Great! I only have 24 words left. Thank you.
u yankee doodles seem to sleep in the middle of the day lol
I guess... I am a night owl
Im up late too. I have three left and I cant seem to let them go for sleep.
cant figure out those dh's
i wish i didnt have to sleep then i would have more time for this
The dh's are a hindi word and its plural
Im missing: al 6/ 21 le 5/ 14 le 6/ 24
Tornado watches and storms here.
thanks for that eren but i cant help you on yours i dont have them either storms can be exciting kraj we have boring sunny sky here but i hope u r safe
dh 5/14 - is one long piece of cloth dh + opposite of cold without the "h" and add third vowel
I sort of like it when it rains and storms, but can do without the tornados.
that was more helpful than my clue. I just kept thinking of chapatis. which isnt helpful.
I cheated - I looked it up in the dictionary.
thanks im working on those clues but i dont know how you managaed to look it up in the dictionary lol
and i definitely love the cold and rain but we dont get enough of it here i hate the heat
But it is so beautiful there.
got them ty ty ty
it is beautiful i live in west australia and have just spent the weekend on our nearby island (Rottnest) and i spent the whole weekend thinking how lucky i am to live in such a place
crystal clear waters lots of fish to see when u snorkel and the beaches in perth are the best in the world (maybe i havent seen hawaii) but ive been to a few places and that includes the goldcoast in queensland bondi florida(usa) thailand ect and our beaches are better
but it doesnt help to bear the heat when you are not at the beach and i would prefer colder weather
australia is a great place for holidays u should visit
How lucky you are!! It is so beautiful!
I would love to travel there.
where r u kraj
I live outside of Dallas, Texas. The heat is unbearable here in the summers.
i havent been to texas but my husband is a us cit and we have driven all the way up the east coast and of course been to la i would like to see more of the us as i know it has some magnificent places
his father lives in florida and he is very sick and old he also has two brother there - one brother is coming over next year
Probably not as magnificent as where you are.
but i definitely dont like the hot weather can hardly wait for winter when we have some nice weather and a bit of rain
kraj america has got some fantastic scenery i know and i would like to see snow falling i have never seen that
When is your winter months?
I grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio and I do miss the snow. We get snow or ice maybe one or two days out of the year.
In Texas we get one or two days of snow or ice
officially autumn starts in march (haha) which is our hottest month -we dont really have an autumn- when april comes we get our first rain and the weather is beautiful - changes very suddenly- winter is officially from june to end of august i think
do you ever sleep it must be late there?
Really? So you are having winter when we are having our summer. I did not know that. I am going to try and get some sleep. I have trouble sleeping! I think it is menopause (which I am in denial of) since I am 51.
lol im in denial too im 54 and sleep has been a problem for me too but its getting better now
seeya coffee time for me and goodnite to u
It was very nice chatting with you. I am going to try and get some sleep.
Missing the al 5/12, al 6/21,le 5/14 and the le 6/24 can anyone help please?
sorry mari not me i dont have them
Thanks anyway Sandyloo can I help you?
thanks for that but i am dying for coffee good luck
Thanks
hi mari, do you have the a8/50?
Made up of two words - meaning a drinking place Think Old English
a8/50 - Olden day name for a Beer Bar or a place where beer served Njoy....
wow! tks, mari & 9tanks! got it :)
mari Le5 - Le + word for Hawiian dance except leave out 3rd letter. Then plural for the Le6.
Thanks Dianne.Great clue.
Thanks Dianne That's me finished
Finished as well. Anyone need any clues before I go?
Thanks for the offer.Saving last few for after work.
how about al5/12 please
Al5 - think al + Barbie **** but leave off last letter.
C4 H8 O2 a pale yellow liquid.
ty ty ty
Dianne - brilliant - I couldn't think of a clue
YW
mari - most of the time I don't know what half these words mean so I go for the easy clue :)
Frequently no clues are available.Very frustrating.
Why can we use the word if the little tick-boxes don`t give us any information.Sorry I must be going to have a bad day!!!!
mac - you are so right - sometimes some one will ask for a clue and I'm thinking & thinking to no avail and thankfully someone else comes up with it so I can heave my sigh of relief (and not admit my stupidity).
I like the way you think.Your clues are always helpful.
mac - how can be be about to have a bad day - you've almost finished today's Babble :)
i think all of your clues are clever i can never think of clues except obscure cryptic ones
some clues will be appreciated, but i don't know what i'm missing, so it's kind of difficult to ask. :p
Good point.I feel better already.:)
Onpaki, thats the benefit of being pro.You get a grid telling you how many words for the letters and more info.
onpaki - there are 2 E words and 2 F words (no pun intended). Do you have these four?
i have one E & one F.
Would you like a list of letter/word scores?
ed4/5 and ef4/10 fe4/8 anf fu4/8
The last 3 words in today's game are: up6/27, wa4/8 and wa4/8
A8 , B9 , D11 , E2 , F2 , H10 , I4 , L6 , O9 , P4 , S8 , T11 , U1 , W2.
tks, dianne.
mac - are you at work now or going off to work?
dianne i have been to hong kong and loved it and the food was good
Glad that you enjoyed my town. Yes, the food is good but the deli is nothing like New York :) When were you here?
i've been to hong kong too. loved the food & the shopping! ;)
Time to go.Some left to find when I get home.Bye for now. Thanks for the clues .
been about 10 years ago now omg! time passes so quickly and by the way do u have a clue for the oh 4/6 its driving me crazy
Bye Mac. Onpaki - where do you live?
and what is the deli?
Singapore
oh4/6 that your ho4/6 and switch the first 2 letters around.
Deli? Corned beef on rye. Pastrami on rye. Kosher style sour pickles. Salami, et.c, etc. mmmm mmm good
ty for that and guess what i had it all along duuuuhhhh my brain cell must be resting
oh ok dianne i d add a few olives and some nice tasmainian cheeses and a good west australian white to wash it all down hmmm yum!
sandyloo - if only you lived around the corner - I'de be on my way over !
lol! which reminds me its wine o'clock here and anyway i have to go- my mother is leaving on a cruise tonight to mauritious and we all have to go and wave her off !! so i guess i will bbl
Bye sandy - have fun.
Bye Sandyloo.
Good morning all. Everyone must be busy at the grid.
Morning Haz, Finished the grid and checking out Dr_G's sudoku one, am a bit rusty (used to do them before Babble).
The term iron suduko suggests that it is difficult! What's the weather like with you? It's blowing up a storm here.
It's not too bad here today bit of blue sky but it is v cold with some wind.
It's a day for the tumble drier here. Did you watch Cruft's last night?
Morning : )
Yes I did although I missed the 1st 1/2hr. Did you agree with the winner or would yo uhave picked another one?
I thought that the runner up - the fox terrier, was lovely. But I have NEVER managed to pick the winner!
Morning Anj, unusual to see you at this time.
Morning FMitch. I know. I couldn't stop dreaming of sodoku puzzles I couldn't solve : /
Yes, good morning, Anj.
Morning Haz : )
LOL, I am having a go right now - 1 window open with babble chat and another with soduku!
It wasn't funny..even Mr P admitted the thing was damn near impossible. Maybe I could have cracked it fresh, but not at 3am lol : )
I'm not even going to TRY Iron sudoku!
So happy to know I'm not the only one, FMitch! Morning, all!
LOL Jera, morning to you! Anj today's says it's an easy one but I reserve judgement.
Good morning, Jera.
Morning Jera : )
I think it's easier on paper, for some reason...
I agree jera, thats how I am used to doing them and haven' ever really got on with online ones but seeing as it's Dr-G am giving it a go.
I wanna be a Friend of Babble, but I don't wanna do a blog... what do you guys think about a "weird dictionary?" Wither unusual words you won't find anywhere but Babble (assuming you're enlish-speaking, I guess)...
How would it work, Jera? Would you just add the fresh weird ones as they appear in the grid?
Hi everyone! Sudoku is definitely not my thang! lickety can see the solution from the moon, but it takes me about 1 hour to figure the numbers in one box!
That would be easiest, I think, Haz... & contributions would be encourage, since the definition of weird would vary... but a collection of Hawaiian words & Chinese money would be nice for newbies, I think...
Morning Mr P - did anyone crack that beast yesterday? : )
Gday, mrpresident!
G'Day Jera! Hi all!!
Jera, there is a section on babanon already for strange words if memory serves me right, maybe you could build on that?
Jera - why not try it and see. For those of us who have been babbling a while, the reference to the volcano or the greek cheese is obvious, but not for newcomers. It might make it easier for them to decipher clues. Not that we're anything less than brilliant at giving them!!
morning all..can someone give me a clue for the al5 pls?
al 5/12 - add part of a girl's plaything.
Morning rolin - al plus barbie less that last L : )
I wouldn't want to steal anyone's thunder, but I just wanna be a Friend of Babble... vanity? I don't think I'm interesting enough for just a regular blog, & I like to be useful, so a reference page seemed a good idea...
Jera, a list of the usual suspects plus any unusual stuff wouldn't go amiss : )
*sigh*..thx anj..was looking right at it..
Maybe you could include a section on how to interpret clues - hoops, crosses, latin endings etc.
I'd have to figure that out first myself, Haz, LOL
y/w Rolin : ) I'm having a slow start to the day myself : /
Thanks for that clue, btw Anj... I'm working backwards today & now all I need is the al8 to be done!
Do you want a clue, or do you want to finish on your own?
Ooh, ooh! I just had a great name... Babbler for Dummies! I could have a list of things like the volcano & the white buffalo that can discourage newbies... whattya think?
Yea, Go Jera!!!!
Morning all.:-) I see our Lola's in the grid today.
I like it, Jera, but then I'm horribly politically incorrect!
I think I need a hint, please...
Jera - it's somewhere people used to go for alcoholic beverages.
al in the top right hand corner ...??? anyone help pleeese al 4/5
All done! Now, tell me, what am I to do with the rest of my day. Don't tell me to do sukoko, I can't do it (or spell it)
al8 beer + ho5/14
ex wren go to iwin.com and play tangleword
Never mind, I found it!! Great way to end the grid...
sandyloo - 4:50 post : )
The al4/4 from that corner is a female singing voice.
wtg ExWren : ) Try Sodoku...what? Oh, sorry! ; )
Oh, thanks for the help... does it count if I found it before reading hints??
ive got the singing one
Yes, of course it counts, Jera.
its the al 4/5
Yay! *happy dance of doneness* (so early in the morning)
Usually I don't bother dancing in the wee hours as there is rarely anyone around... I guess it's not so wee, though, really... must get family up in just an hour...
ai 4/5 is someone who helps
thanks haz i printed it out on used paper and now i see its ai LOL
Glad it's worked out!
oh its the 6/21 al im missing anybody..... anybody?
jera is your icon the american girl guides badge?
I think I figured out why I like Sudoku so much even though I'm not very good... 3 is a magic number & 3 x 3 is even better... not sure how that translates to Christianity, but these things = balance in the pagan sector...
Yes, sandyloo... yesterday was Girl Scouts (USA) 94th birthday... it's Girl Scout Week, so I probably won't be changing my icon...
Sandy, al plus hoop, plus Cameron D.... without the last letter : )
oh thanks anj what sort of a word is that i would never have gotten it!!
I think I'll have a special section for small freaky words... the ones you usually find only by monkey-typing...
put that al6/21 in jera
Sandy, this one is full of noodles today : )
have to go to the wharf in a minute to see my mum off on her cruise to mauritius- lucky thing- the whole family has to go and wave her off !! lol
Al6/21or Alwa was the southernmost of the three kingdoms of Christian Nubia... (wikipedia)
LOL jera i should have known!!
...er, that sounds like a proper noun to me then : /
I think proper names are dirty pool, foreign words, too. Not that English is the only language, but when you are playing a word game, I think you should pick a language (any language) and stick with it...
uh oh with 9 left i have to go bbl(of course)
See ya, sandyloo!
Okay, I have another idea if you all aren't sick of me picking your brains... maybe I could start a yahoo group & have different sections that anyone could contribute to?
Hey people - hows everyone doing? Have been away a while...how many words are we looking for today?
I keep 'seeing' Sprite in the grid, too.
Only 87 words today, kaynanda!
87 words to find today, Kay.
Jacula, tell me about your icon!
easy today, kaynanda, I hardly had to look at a2z.
hi all, how many words today please?
Oops, that should have been a question mark... I sound way too perky for this hour...
hi guys! what's the theme for today?
Jera - It's Dame Margot Fonteyn & Rudolph Nureyev, two of the finest ballet dancers of all time.
thanks :-)
Atalante - Today's theme is 'ballet'.
Ooooh, okay... I wasn't keeping up with the theme... maybe I'll put Barishnikov on later... ;D
even here I am invisible....
thanks Jac :) I now have a pic from the only ballet I've ever seen - Gerald Scarfe's designs from Nutcracker
87 mummy
Don't feel invisible mummy... you just asked a question that was very recently asked & answered already... 87 words today...
Good morning 'Mummy'. It's not having an icon that gets you 'lost' in the chat. Happens to my Other Half lots!
thank you Atlante, I don't feel so invisible now!
Sorry all, I really don't want to be a pain in the posterior, it's just that being in Australia now affects the brain power, you know how in the southern hemisphere the water goes down the plug hole the opp direction, well it takes a while for the blood to adjust to doing the same in the veins!
morning all. not liking todays puzzle at all!
You're funny, mummy... we have several Aussies here, you will be fine!
Thank you for your support Jera, I must get an icon fixed up when I return to the northern hemisphere... in the meanwhile I may just give up on today's grid, too much shiraz makes the brain even fuzzier...
Good morning, miametro - what's not pleasing you about the puzzle today?
Jera, those le words are candidates for your idea : /
hi again!
Hi Angel : ) Right, i'm off to get a maths complex on the sodoku again... : /
I concur, Anj...
If you see MrP, I need to find out where I can send her an e mail. I have her Babble Page done.
Okay, poll time... is the entity BABBLE male or female??
If you're talking about the 'le' Hawaiian flowers, they must have been in the grid before as I had no trouble spotting them.
Right, Jacula, but that's the sort of thing that could discourage newcomers...
I think the Babble grid is female, even though her creator is not.
Angel!!! I am so pleased!! My email is in my profile...
MrP, I tried sending you an e mail yesterday at that addresss and it bounced back to me with an error message saying no such account exists.
I concur, Jacula, but I'm not sure if that might be because we are female? Looking for male opinions... I'm working on the group statement for my new Babble group...
mmmm... will go see what is up with that BRB
Jera, I guess so. I'm a 'words' person you see and find them fairly easy, unlike the Sudokuh! (I've registered me and Paul on there to show support for Dr_G's new venture but I doubt I'll be playing much. I'm hopeless at number puzzles. Paul will probably enjoy it though.)
How does this sound so far... (advice welcome) BABBLE 4 Dummies An interactive reference site for the awesomely amazing (and highly addictive) on-line computer word game BABBLE. Here you will find lists of unusual words (at least to those of us who speak English as a first language), links to helpful word-finding sites, and helpful hints for newcomers who might be feeling discouraged and overwhelmed by our harsh mistress!
Angel, I fixed it... needed 'au' on the end... oops!
I think I need to drop a "helpful" in the last paragraph...
Jera - Yes. Drop the 2nd 'helpful' or change it to 'handy'.
good morning everyone. Someone said this was an easy one, but I'm not finding it so....22 to go and bogged down. Yesterday's made much more sense to me.
Oooh, good one... thanks, Jacula!
y/w, Jera. Good morning, Eva.
Well, it's 7 already... gotta go wake up these people & get them out of my house... back later, hopefully to introduce my new group!
Jera, I think your ending 'harsh mistress' might make some people feel more overwhelmed than ever. I understand that you are trying to convey the feeling of the addictive qualities of babble but harsh might not be the best adjective.
demanding instead of harsh?
Yes, atalante - I would be happy with that.
Atalante - you took the words right out of my mouth! LOL.
great minds think alike or something ;)
Does anyone but me now have a mental picture of a leather-clad grid wielding a whip???
I do now. Unfortunately!
Just you, Jacula!!
ROFLOL
OMG I am watching a really scary movie... from Sweden "Drowing Ghost"... but the atmosphere is compulsive! I can't avert my eyes!
Just looking it up, MrP... 'A boarding school is planning a macabre celebration of sorts to mark the hundredth anniversary of the brutal murders of three students. As a current student investigates the initial crime, she discovers some unsavory facts. Was the family of the school's main beneficiaries behind the murders? Perhaps the thing they were hoping to hide is one and the same entity as that roaming the school's halls on the eve of the event. And perhaps it's looking for new prey...' About to watch a clip.
Oooh, it looks good! What the hell was the thing in the wash basin?? View clip here: http://www.ifilm.com/ifi lmdetail/2650461?htv=12
Oh Jac, it is freaky! a ghost with a scythe!! Gruesome!
I'VE FINISHED THE GRID.:-)))
MrP...check your e mail!
any help wih the a8?
Angel, it's an old fashioned name for a bar/pub.
Angel - I hope you've only e-mailed MrP her page and not one of those things where they get you to look closely at the screen and then a screaming face jumps out at you? The poor woman would have a heart attack, given the film she's watching. LOL.
happy? monday everyone.
nothing is going to jump out anywhere. it's zipped, and even when she unzips it, it is safe!
Hello Capone.
I was just kidding, Angel.:-)
I know, Jac :) I always take care of my friends. Anyway, I know about scary movies.
Good morning Capone.
MrP, I hope you don't have nightmares.
I'm off to do some work. I'll pop back in later. Byeee.x

Capone it does look like you have big strong arms very nice for hugs :) I like the tattoo...wish I could see it better.
Angel-you must have invested alot of time into puting that togather. Must have your e-mail address.
Angel-I got your address from your profile. Ok if I email you?

Well I have a faerie sitting in a flower on my left shoulder (back) and another faerie *flying* with a trail of flowers behind her on my lower right side (kidney area) and I have an ivy band around my left ankle...
Good morning/afternoon. TSM the al8 is an old-fashioned word for a pub/bar
al 8 - another word for beer + what you live in.
Hi Haz :)
I ought to be doing housework but couldn't resist seeing who was here.
Like most newborns, it's naked & not very pretty, but check it out! http://games.groups.ya hoo.com/group/babbler4dummies/
woot! thanks haz!
good morning babblers...what is the theme today?
You're welcome TSM.
Hey Kiss Thanks fearie! And your tats sound awesome! I love fearies :) hehe
theme is Ballet
Jera, I got to the site okay but am unsure what to do next? Do you have to sign up?
cool, Jera, I just joined the group. May I add the link to the Resource page as well?
http://img136.imageshack.us/im g136/3614/me3ic.jpg for your viewing pleasue! *not responsible for eye or cpu monitor damage.
TSM, what is a Fearie? Oh wait, nm, thats what D is gonna do to W when we meet again.
There should be somewhere on the page that says join Group. I think you have to join before you can post. Then you can introduce yourself, bitch about crazy words, start a list using word from old puzzles (not the current one, please).
Yes, Angelsong, I'd be honored... may I return the favor?
Hi everyone, struggling to get my last 3 words so any help would be much appreciated... le5 le6 al6 Many thanks
Capone-wasn't able to view due to some kind of techinal error :'( Faeries can be very kind sweet and giving and they can also be very naughty.....like TSM lol
Boysay - the le 5 - add a word that means colour, sounds like Hugh, but change the vowel at the end.
Jera got beeped *tee hee*
im g136/3614/me3ic.jpg remove the space between the M and G in img
yes, Jera, please!
hi everyone!!! how many words today and what is the picture theme?
The le 6 is the plural. al 6 - add a hoop then spanish word for day.
Haz, you star, I'm all done...anyone else need clues?
Bex - there are 87 words today (if you go to Flip on stats you'll get the details) and the theme is ballet. There seems to be a sporadic take-up on the theme.
http://tinyurl.com/r6hu8 or use this url
Congratulations, boysaway.
Thank you!
got new picture!!!
Capone-too cute - who is the chick with you. Love the tatt...
Be back in a few :)
Well, phooey, I had a glorious little list & was working on the definitions... hit the wrong key & it's GONE!!
thats my other girlfriend.
Bex and Shorty look exactly a like can you believe that?
Gosh - you and shorty must be long lost sisters or something.
Oops, you can't say b!tch here? Sorry... you can on my usual message board...
You mean his SISTER!? lol
Very cute. Thanks for sharing.
my icon is a picture of my ballet class that i taught my first year teaching. :)
well I am from Kentucky! ok, not really
TSM-that's his sister? He really is a little brat isn't he? LOL
changed it again!!!
my sister is my mom, my dad is my daughter...you know..inbreeding!
Eva -I think you get the prize for the cutest icon so far.
Ok Capone-careful there----I'll have to open a can of whoopass on you..
Jera, the link to your group is on the Resource page now.
shall i put on a picture of me dancing???
Fearie yeah he is a brat lol trouble maker. Keep him on his toes... he likes it lol Wait that would be taken the wrong way HAHA good times
Angelsong, would you call yourself a long-time Babbler? Experienced Babbler? Fellow? GIve me an adjective, hon!
Bex - YES!
lol. just saw where you were from Faerie. Well I am from Jackson, NJ (same difference)!!
Very pretty Bex.
I think Angel is dedicated.
Oooh, good one Haz... brb...
thats me or the right with my mate just before we went on stage!!!!
Capone-you know what they say in South (If you aint good enough for your own family your not good enough for mine) LOL
ohhhhhhh Bex you and your friend are just adorable.
yea, i know that all too well. originally from Westwood, NJ, but grew up in Jacksonville, FL.
thanks!!!!!
I now have 5 words. lol
faeriekae Your icon is very pretty also
im just beeting you i have 7!!!!
I've only been Babbling since December, Jera...let's see: I do like dedicated. it fits! ok if I add the link to my resource page to the group?
Slow down, faerie - at this rate you'll finish the grid far too soon.
Thank you Shorty :)
i still have 7 words LOL
37 here!! woot
I love those colors
LOL no kidding - I have 5 words....I have got to stop babbling and start looking or I will be here at this time tonight...
Rats, the links list goes backwards... oh well.
Good now I don't feel so bad Shorty I also love the colors....
me too I will have to hide the log or I'll get nothing done
Every bowl we own is dirty... I really should not be looking for new obsessions...
You have an obsession for making bowls dirty?
What do you need, faerie? Does the dust not work for you, the sprinkler??
Jera - lol - I too need to vacuum and dust. Was gone most all weekend.
Actually, that would be my children... last night they shared a bowl, but used 2 forks & a spoon to eat ramen noodles... I don't WANT to know...
bitch shit
bitch fuck shit fuck bitch ass
Jera - wish I could sprinkle a little faerie dust and make my house clean and clothes washed and WINDOWS washed....
wow....censorship!
What I meant was, I should be doing dishes rather than creating a new message board...
whats up with that capone?
Morning everyone!!
Woah! Drama!
Capone - stop that.....Where is TSM????
TSM can help ya w/ur windows Faerie, she loves to lick glass.
{{{JEN}}}
Guess what?! I made a new message board!
ignore the fuck shit bitch stuff, was just seeing what words were censored
Cool beans! Where is it?
Hey Jen :) I am here faerie! :) I was flippin through email fast
Capone - is this the first time you got beeped out? LOL Lanakate and I tried lots of *bad* words one night it was a riot..
Lick glass!?! What? Fearie did you need help with something?
87 seems deceiving is it a tough one today?
It's okay - quite a lot of normal words and the usual ration of weird ones. It's doable.
TSM-go smack Capone-he says you will help me clean my windows because you love to lick glass... See Capone I told on you.
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/ group/babbler4dummies/ Hope fully I will be a Friend before too long...
oh you really cant use cuss words on here they get beep out? Or are you pulling a leg
In my case it's doable with the list and all necessary resources. I like efficiency.
brb - got go pee pee
I'm sorry, I started the censor testing when I said b!tch & got beeped.
For real Shorty...
Jera, that group is going to be awesome! thanks for letting me add the link to the Resources page!
I did not know that!
I copied and pasted and got an error message...
awww back.
Make sure you close up any spaces the chat puts in to make it not too long...
anyone no what the 8 letter word starts with???
morning, folks.
hiya hurshy!!!!
al 6/21 anyone? please and thank you.
I hope so, AngelSong! Your page is aweseome! I looked at it & got kind of at a loss for words how to describe it in a nutshell on my links list!
Yea Faerie, I normally don't use profanity, so if i didn't read that bitch got beeped, I would not have known that there are a bunch of fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck of fuck fuck smocking censors on the fuck fuck fuck boards.
al8/50
Morning Hurshy
It's an al word, bex!
finally! cool idea Jera!
*beep> smoking censors
ROFL Capone.....
Thanks... I'm working on a post about crazy little words... you know, the ones you usually find by monkey-typing!
What kind of words do they censor? I swear I wrote crap the other day and it went through.
Maybe a glossary, too, we have some cool slang that might confuse newbies...
bring the tally for that group up to 3 members! ;)
Capone :( Could use a hug Faerie, I will help you with your window! I will bring cinnamon rolls so we can have breakfast before we work lol
fuck
And TSM, don't deny that you love to lick glass. Remember a few weeks ago when you bitch fuck shit that big bitch?
oh cool
thanks TSM - sounds like fun
bitch
Crap is okay, not sure if shit is or not...
man, this board sounds like a <beep>ing good time today!
Jera got beeped lol
Guess not. But it's a valid BABBLE word... go figure...
I think if it's a BABBLE word, we should be able to say it in chat... seems only fair...
Why do you need a hug TSM? My <beep> wasn't enough?
al 6/21
(((((TSM))))) I'll hug you if Capone won't..
hi bex, faerie, etc etc.... jera - i'm glad we CAN'T say all the babble words in the chatroom...
Jera I agree.. 100%
al6/21 - add a hoop and spanish for day.
why arent u allowed to say babble?
Al6/21 or Alwa was the southernmost of the three kingdoms of Christian Nubia. Most of what is known about Christian Nubia comes from either contemporary Egyptian sources and the intensive archaeological work done in Lower Nubia prior to the flooding of many sites by the Aswan High Dam. Neither of these sources shed much light on what went on the Upper Nubia during this period and very little is known about Al6/21.
Some BABBLE words I would never say, I'm faaaaaar too much of a lady!
Thanks Jera...
you ARE allowed to say babble, bex, you are not allowed to say swear words which sometimes show up in the grid and are counted as words...
oh rite i get you now!!!
AL6/21 is also a saint of some sort...
is the al 8 an extension of the 6?
I have never played Boggle... are proper nouns allowed in that game? They aren't allowed in Scrabble, that I've ever played... neither are foreign words...
No - it's two words joined together to make an old-fashioned pub/bar
bex -- the AL8 is kinda like a place where beer lives. ;)
Ok Peeps I gotta go clean see ya all later I STILL have 7 words LOL
No bex... you can get a beer at the al8 (old timey kind)
But they're 7 good words, aren't they, Shorty?
PEEPS! TSM loves PEEPS!
Poor shorty, we are very distracting today... later, hon!
bex - al 8 another word for beer + what you live in.
I foresee a few Peeps in TSM's future. 8)
Bye Shorty
yes they are
You know what I like best about sudoku? Other than the 3 x 3 magic stuff?
yey i got it!!! thanks!!!
What do you like best about sudo whats it?
It announces when someone logs on... so everyone can say hi!
Speaking of Peeps, I need to go Easter Bunny shopping this week before all the good stuff is gone...
aren't there like zillions of people who babble, though, and wouldn't it get crazy if babble did that?
Probably, hurshy. Also wouldn't help with people like me who log on & keep the window open 24/7... I restart once a week, otherwise I'm always in Babbleland!
Does that mean you can't really lurk like you can here?
it's been very exciting here today!
is anyone tried the new sudoko puzzle??
I'm not sure... I have been on since last night & I don't think it re-announces me when I open that window... same loophole as here.
what's been exciting, angel?
I'm diving in so please don't think I'm being rude but I would like try and find a few words before going to therapy. bbl
I got all but 4 squares last night! Going back & forth playing it & chatting here & working on my group... I'm a busy beaver today!
Peeps in my future? what? I don't eat them, I just look at them lol
i did the suduko yesterday. it was hard. dr g-d said today would be easier.
I don't like Peeps, they are like eating sand... *shudder*
I have 9 empty squares in sudoku...
Mmmm, peeps... but I like the bunnies better than the chicks.
OMG Jera! Your right! Sand covered old marshmellos! AH!
Anyone else notice my alma mater is glaringly obvious in today's puzzle? :)
Make that 7 empty squares... I'm having a hard time placing 7's today for some reason...
*whispers* What is your alma mater, Jen?
FSU... Florida State University. Go Noles!! :)
We put peep snowmen in hot chocolate... that's pretty good!
AHA! Yes, I see it... sorry I forgot, if you told me...
Jera, that sounds really good.
Be back in a few Capone, check your email
For cheap gifts/treats, we make Snowman Soup... a baggie containing a snowman peep, a packet of hot chocolate, a mini pack of m&m's & a candycane... YUM!!
i am doing much better than usual today at getting boxes to turn grey. only have 5 left that aren't grey, and if i could get my last A, that would leave only 4.
i have 18 boxes that arent grey!!!! lol :)
Would you like help or would you rather do it yourself, hurshy?
hurshy, I'm not too far ahead of you. I have 16 that aren't gray
i'll take help with the a - it's off the top one, and i have ad4, al8, al6, and al4
ad5: a + he4/6
ballet day!
hi harp
hi harp!!!!
oops, not ad5 . . . ah5
ah5/14 = what Unea said...
that's off the lower a, i've got that.
al5/12
al + Barbie = al5
thanks for the clues une
thank you haz!
only 9 words left! but as there are only 2 more 4's, i will prob have to get the list soon
i have one la4 and one le4, i'm sure i need more of one or the other of those...
loving the fact that bi4/6 actually appears "on the bi4" in the grid!
lol, that is so funny une
back for more abuse. TSM, you'll see what I mean about the peeps soon enough.
well I am up to 26 words now
no comments on la or le words?
and check your email
Thank you Capone :)
only one la word, hurshy, and you've already got it, right?
yes - how about le, then?
I need a great hint for od 6/24 please.
i have only one le4
i suspect the reason you haven't gotten clues on the le5 and le6 is that there's no dictionary definition :(
od 6/24 horrible or smelly
oh, can i have the point values on them, though?
le5,6 - le + h + 2 vowels, plural
ok, try this--remember Al Pacino's phrase in Scent of a Woman?? . . . le + that phrase
A good clue I saw earlier for le 5 is le = Hawaiian dance minus the third letter
le5/14 and le6/24
btw, in keeping with todays theme, my icon is called devil dance,
good one, munner!
Thanks, hurshy
thanks, guys! that's another grey box. now i only have 2 d's, 2 o's, and 2 t's!
pi 5???
I'm down to a's, b's and d's.
pi5 - religious, devoted
pi5 holy . . . think Pope P****
pi 5 - p plus notes promising to repay debts. Or just devout.
pi5 The pope is certainly this!
pi5 - lots of vowels, someone holy or saintly
spellit, LOL!!
think i'll just get the list...
Thanks to y'all. My last two words both had the same ending which I totally missed.
oops, I was laughing at Haz!
Glad I could raise a laugh!
doxy - i'm betting your missing d's are the same as mine - dh5 and 6
dh5,6 - d + opposit of cold + 3rd vowel, plural
ROFL @ Capone... Nice :) And check your email!
Hey what happened to fearie? She have to get going?
no
dh + Miss **** regrets . . .
TSM she said she was going to concentrate on getting words before leaving for therapy. Don't know if the two are connected.
oh, i got them doxy, i just thought you might want to know what they were...but maybe you already have the list?
yep, have the list!
done!
congrats hurshy!!!
congrats, hurshy!
Finished!
Congrats Hurshy!!! TSM-I'm still here...lurking and I'm up to 35 words lol
Angel - Congratulations!!!
congrats angelsong!!
congrats, angel!
so angel, are you going to tell me now why today has been so exciting?
to6? has me stumped
Ishult - it's that Spanish town again. Add an action word to your to4/4
Ishult Hi :) sorry don't have it. Ask Angel or Hurshy..they are finished.
to6 - add a vowel to the end of to5
al6?
al plus circle plus Spanish for day.
thanks haz
Finished.
yay doxy!
I know I've been playing too long when I automatically know the Spanish town in question!!!!
Doxy - Congrats!!!
It's called experience, Ishult!
kudos, doxy!
it's also a town in ohio... don't forget ohio...
od6?
od has the same ending as pi5
Thanks
See, I'm okay with the to6, as it is also a sword made in the Spanish town.
That would be an exception to my proper noun gripe...
jera - prob all the ones we think are proper have some other meaning like that...
we came so close to having hideous today...
finished! :)
WTG Une !!! Congrats.
yay une!
You're probably right, hurshy, my ignorance is showing...
today's the day, jera, i'm going to crack top 20 on eight1 - at least temporarily.
I think i am going to give up for now
I haven't played all weekend, hurshy... had to obssess over Girl Scouts this weekend!
well since it starts over every week, it's easier to make top 20 on monday! :)
Me too Toes - I have way to many other things I should be doing so I'll try to come back later and finish. House cleaning, and I'm also washing kitchen cabinets and cleaning them out. Spring fever has set in.
good for you faerie :)
Want to help Hurshy - Toes is coming over to help with windows lol
what state are you in faerie?
Michigan
hurshy, what's your highest eight1 score so far?
what state are you in Hurshy?
24 something
connecticut
I only have 54 words right now... I am only in Chicago so not too far from you fearie! :)
I don't expect Toes to show up anytime soon since she is in Chicago. LOL
Hello!
Your doing better than I am TSM. Ok, really gotta run. I want to get my cabinets done today. bbl
by the time *i* got there, you'd be done! :)
hey bunny
Ok fearie, good luck! :)
LOL Hurshy... yeah i am sure we would be
Buuuuuuny! Hi! Adorable little icon you have there!
lol, i just had "anagrams" on eight1, how appropriate
There are what? 9 O words? I have none of them... any O word clues please?
TY, it's my fall back when I'm too lazy to search for a theme icon..
email TSmf
otay
TSM - one is abbr for what they put in the paper when someone dies one is horrible or smelly one is a kind of butter substitute most are just fours you can monkey around and get
I just can't get the darn up6/27, could I have a clue pretty please?
up/6 movie the up/6 of anger
hello all not been very well today :o(
hi wezzie hope u get well soon
oh, sorry to hear that wezzie :(
up + si4
TY Capone, your a sweetheart!
and Jera... :)
I'm always late to the party... especially when I'm doing 8 things at once...
I was kinda hoping for a big grid today since I'm childless. Probably get my wish tomorrow while all five are home, Spring Break! Who thought that up, summer is enough!
al/6 and al/8 any1?
al 8 - compound word meaning tavern al 6 - al + third vowel + spanish for day (not my clue, read it earlier)
*le sigh* still 48 words to find here...heh
Jera, was it you who said you worked with mortgages?
ty bunny
YW
Hi all, Love that al8 word - thats where we should be instead of babbling.
No, BV, not I...
its where i WANT to be since im attampeting both games at once, and failing miserably...heh
Had my fill of one of those last night, ughh, prefer Bable today. Maybe we can open a Babble pub?
By both do you mean sudoku as well??
Yup she does, i can see heeeer in there with me.
indeed i do!
Hi guys! Piquant little grid today ...
Whoo-hoo!! I'm a Friend!!
I have 5 empty squares, evanadine
This must be a proud moment, Jera.
Thank you Hurshy for the 10:18 post :)
Indeed it is, Haz...
i have lots...hehe...lots of notes, but they almost confuse me more than not having them there!
I kind of work my way down left to right... make changes when I need to... still haven't figured out the "trick" if there is one...
how many words are there today???
I am having a har time placing 7's today for some reason...
87 words, wezzie!
Sorry, torgone, forgot to say hello.
60 down, 17 to go. but alas, work needs to be done. may be back later, if not have a great day all. and TSM, I love you baby.....I really do, with all my fa, er, heart.
Afternoon all, WTG Jera, well done!
AAAAAAAAAWWWW *melts* I love you too sweetheart :) Have a good day at work!
That's ok. I haven't been on this time of day for a long time. I'm sure everyone has forgotten me . .
see, now i have all the 7s...got those pretty easily... unless i have them wrong...heh
Howdy FMitch
torg...no one can forget you!!!
Of course, I started with the ones, so I gues it makes sense for things to get tight by the time I get to the 7's!
You mean my Friend status, FMitch??
Hi TSM
tor, i tried to post a message right after you posted but my computer glitched. it said, "isn't it, tor?"
heh, i start with the ones that seem the easiest to fill in at start-time 6's, 7's, and 9's are done for me, i think
I do indeed Jera - that and the yahoo group.
Somehow, I'm able to get through the firewall right now, so I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
..And kill some time at work! Wahey!
I'm very proud... now I just need to work on it so it won't be boring or redundant...
back again! hey tor!
I give up. I've got 85 words and so I give up :(
It will be better when I get more members & they start contributing... interactive is definitley more interesting than me prattling about hard words...
Which ones do you need? We love to give hints!
I will be adding my name to the group a bit later today Jera
don't give up with 2 left wezzie!!!!
im back!! i was doing the new sodoku puzzle and finished it!!!
bex -- you are obviously smarter than i am... i just had to clear the board to start over for my THIRD try!
i like sodoku!!! but cant spell it!!
i'm on level 41, eight1 fans... i usually crash between 45 and 48... so soon you should be able to see me on the top 20 list...
i only have 24 words on here though!!!
Can I have clues for the nine letter words today
there are no 9 letter words!!!
Just one measly 8 letter word... ho-hum... ;>
I'm gonna go take a little rest, getting very tired from all the excitement... I'll check back in later!
... and no 7 letters, amazing!
jera do u have the 8?
bex i have the 8, its another word for tavern, think beer + casa
HOLY COW! i finished todays sudoku!!
so do i have it just wondering if she had it!!! thanks anyway though!!!!
well done!!!!!!!!
no prob
LOL Evan - congrats and to you too Bex
Hi everyone! : )
i figured that it helps to print it out + only write on the printed copy numbers you are 100% sure of. that way, my notes dont confuse me, and if i mess up, i dont have to start from nothing. :)
hiya lola
hola lola! youre in todays puzzle!
Hi Sis Evan, that is how I am used to doing it, trying to do onscreen was mind boggling.
I am! Woot! : D
whos sisters??? or am i just VERY confused?
lola u tried the new sudoko?
bex -- theyre sisters in babble-land...heh
okie dokie i understand!!!
Bex I got babble adopted by macadam so Lola lotti and I are babble sisters
bex, not yet! I've been too busy today......and numbers scare lola! lol : D
omigosh i am on level 50 in eight1... that's the first time i've made it to 50...
Aloha lola!
fmitch i am VEREY confused so i am just gonna nod and agree !!!
hurshy what u playing?
Hey torgone! Nice to see you! How goes it?? : )
was so overjoyed in my sudoku victory that i forgot i still have 47 words to hunt down here...heh
bex - it's a game called eight1, on another website. i was told that no babbler has cracked the top 20 on it, but i am about to!
lol!!! i have 24 words found not to go!!!!
wil u tell me the site please!!
it's one of the several games on www.eastoftheweb.com/games
Woo! Go hurshy! *lola wipes hurshy's brow and sends her back to the battle*
eight letters in search of a word...
Fine and dandy, lo ..
it's over! but there i am, in the top 20!!!! everyone go look!!!!
Well done hurshy! : D
Does anyone have clues for these (my last 3) al 6/ 21 le 5/ 14 le 6/ 24 Thanks.
Good to hear tor. We miss your dry sense of humour round here :/
thank you lola. :) it's very satisfying. :) once i cracked the top 20 only to be replaced nanoseconds later... now i am solidly in there for at least a day i think
al6/21, al plus hoop plus Cameron ***s (leave off the s) : )
i got to level 2 then lost :-(
good morning/afternoon everybody!
Nice job Hurshy!!
hi boreetos
did you see me bex? did you look at the top 20?
al6/21 - al + first two letters of smell + last letters of Sound of Music woman.
yea seen u well done!!! i will be on the best losers list!!!
le5/14, le plus hawaiian dance less the L. Pluralise for the 6 : )
thank you fmitch! boreetos, is that an elephant?
Hey boreetos! : )
lol bex - well, you are only 14. i am twice your age. when you get to be as old as me, maybe you will be top 20 too. :)
yup, a yellow paisley elephant, and if I've learned anything from Disney cartoons, Elephants would excellent ballerinas.
disney does rather give that impression...
hey, I'm twice 14 too, and I guarantee I'm on the best losers list. :)
Thanks :) Anyone need any clues before I take off?
hmm... well, there's a lesson for you bex - grow up to be like hurshy, not like boreetos. :)
lol! ican't even think of a good sarcastic comment to follow that up.
clue for al5/12 please
lol, you know i'm just kidding boreetos.
I'm not so sure you should be kidding though, it's probably good advice.
al5/12 like a medicine that calms people down if they have severe psychological problems, only without the first letter (h)
anyone who has a paisley elephant for their icon is a good role model in my book.
al 5/12 al + child's pretend baby - last l
al6?
hurshy and Eren thank you both
thanks. I was talking about it on Friday, how my favorite toy when I was a kid was this yellow paisley elephant, and how that was so typical of the seventies.
ishult, see clue at 11:35 : )
al6 - it ends the way it begins, with not hi and a dead princess in between
my favorite toy was a puppy. he went through several skins bc i wore him out so much, my mom would just recover him over and over.
that's pretty awesome. any particular breed of skinned puppy?
I've had to do skin grafts on my kids' favorite puppies. I let them choose the color skin they wanted, so while one is pretty normal looking, the other looks like he's permanantly wearing a sweatshirt.
nope, not a very realistic puppy - arms and legs places as if for a human, really...
lol vi
that was supposed to say placed
that's also really awesome.
i still have puppy. he is brown now.
that was his name, puppy - lol, i was so creative...
right on, I have idea what happened to my elephant, I think my mom still might have it somewhere.
oh good, I was to comment on your syntax.
lol boreetos
Hi all..........
I call that irony. :) I got to get back to work. I'll be back at lunch.
hi caitlyn
bye boreetos
'bye boreetos, hi caitlyn : )
please can i have a clue for to6/21 please
double please! well then! to6 - town in spain, or town in ohio
got the to6 word
hurshy thank you
hurshy, did you manage to do this one without the list? I'm down to 20-odd and have come to a grinding halt : /
hurshy i am up to level 7!!!
i looked at the list for the last 6 (one of which was a plural i had stupidly missed)
go bex!
*waves* I'm trying to finish without the list too :)
grrrr. Knew I shouldn't have asked you! ; )
Good morning, everyone :)
hey atalante - let me know how far you get :)
Hi atalante! : )
lola that is good going, I had to go to the list at around 30. Hi Atalante
Hi cyber : )
morning, cnan
30 left to go that is.
9 to go :)

Atalante - WOOT!
No problem. sorry it took me so long - I was staring blankly at the log not registering what I was reading. Weird.
well done Atlante Im going now..catch you all tomorrow bye
mm - move you eyes slowly away from the screen... you will be ok...
hehe Ren. I started this grid instead of taking a nap as advised by my Bible Study partner. She left early and told me I needed one. I think she was right.
mm - nap...yes...nap is good...nap is good....
Are you trying to hypnotize me? I really don't need it. I'm a zombie already.
mm- i want a nap as well. i've been up since 5:15...and right now i am doing this to stay awake.
hurshy - which 6 did you have to look up?
I wasn't up quite that early. But we had three late nights in a row over the weekend and then up early this morning. I may succomb here soon and lay down before the kids get home but I really don't want to.
My head is starting to hurt. I say we all hang out and watch a movie and eat fresh baked cookies... or dough depending on how you feel about it LOL
OOOHhh Toe that sounds like a heavenly idea. Do you have the dough?
Capone, I miss you...
Can make it in a jiffy!
hi guys and gals! is babs still here?
Hi TO TSM - Please allow me - you go put your feet up. (oops almost used a word)
ACK It's raining - gotta shut windows. bRB
Hi temple. I think Bab's sister needed the computer.
*looks around frantically* word? where? WHERE?
TSM, I don't know how your head feels..... ready for it, ready? But your face is killing me! BURN!
I almost use ah5/14 in that sentence.
UGH Capone....
nice slippers, deutsch! my icon is le ballets trockadero of monte carlo....
ok, who was it ealier who mentioned the Eight1 game??
yeah eva, that's just what we all need - another game LOL
Thanks, Temple. I'l like to see the trockadero...
heh, yeah, someone mentioned it earlier + of course i went + started playing it... now im addicted (and so is half my office too! haha) kinda like text-twist
What MM?
Oh nooooooo don't tell me it is like text twist. I love that game.
Capone - don't "what" me.
LOL musicmom :) But I LOVE to cook adn bake :)
Huh? What what?
ME TOO TSM!!!
Capone lol
<whispers to capone> It was your lame joke. I'm trying not to call anymore attention to it<G>
oooh musicmom! Glad to hear it :)
Trust me folks, if TSM offers you any baked goods, kindly state that you are "on a diet". Ooops, did I type that?
What's eight 1? Where's the website? Not having luck googling it.
Capone - you remind me of my children and my GS troop.
sad huh, considering we are only 4 years apart in age. 8p
HAHA! Musicmom :) Well you know ohio isn't that far away... we should have a bake day... bake, eat, drink, and laugh :)
deutsch -- take out the space + youll google it easily "eight1"
Deutsch http://www.eastofthewe b.com/games/Eight1.html
Capone - I'll refrain from the far tooo easy male joke that is appropriate.
And for the record, TSM's favorite dessert is chocolate covered spiders.
Hey TSM _I know my husband would go for a baking day in Chicago - he loves that city. I've never been there.
Lots of protein in spiders I hear.
Thanks tiger and evanadine
whats the far too easy male joke, about how 32 physically = 9 mentally?
Well yeah - I was going to say 13 mentally. But, if you want it ot be 9 - far be it from me to argue<g>
But that's typical. I'm married to a 36 y.o 16 year old. hehehe.
only numbers on a page.
besides, after the pain filled weekend I had, I need few cheap laughs.
Musicmom, You need to come! Chicago is a great please Capone, honey, I hate spiders, you know that lol
pain filled was me wanting to paint or me crying I am sure... hah!
toes: we should all come for st patrick's day!!!!
od6 clue please?
AWwww poor Capone. TSM - seriously we have been talking about a weekend trip to Chicago - leaving the kids with Greg's mom and dad. It won't happen before the fall, but we are seriously considering it.
no, more like me up til 3am saturday night b/c an old foot injury was reagro'd at the gym a few days ago. couldn't sleep and the damn meds i had didn't work.
Greg was in Chicago a few years ago for a saxophone convention- I had to stay home and work.
Hey I am totally up for that! :) I have a 3 bedroom home more or less to myself...
what did you want to paint? I didn't talk to you at all this weekend spider girl......8(
od6: hateful
I know thati s why I was CRYING!
Thank you temple hun :) Temple, you are all the way in PA! My best friend Liz lives in a little town called Oil City, PA! :) I always wanted to visit her.
yea right, I'm sure you were heartbroken....
:(
I'll let you know if plans come to fruition!
well come on out! i believe that's western part of the state
It'd be fun to meet for a cup of coffee or something.
(((((TSS))))))
Woot! Yes I agree, Chicago makes for a fun vacation. Lots to do. Carrage ride at night in the city when it's all lit up. Drinks up in the Signature room where it feels like you are floating above the whole world.
Okay. I give up - I'm going to go lay down for a 1/2 hour. Be back in a little bit to finish.
good afternoon everyone
I need some help, please. 4 left and 3 of them are the al's. I have the 4/4 could use help with the rest, please. tks
NYC > CHI
toesock, awww, it's nice to log in & see such nice things being said about my home - i guess i take it for granted cause it always amuses me how many tourists i see when walking down michigan avenue, i always think 'this isn't where i would go for a vacation' lol
uh, capone, i believe you have that backwords, lol (<)
(((MUSICMOM))) See ya later! Helen! Yes I am in Chicago as well... I love to city but your right, I wouldn't vaction here but I think that is because we are FROM here... we know the city. Still love it though!
er, sorry, I meant NYG > CHI
Hi everyone hope all is well! I'm doing really good at present I've got 74 words and am stuck on al/5 anyone got any clues?
Hello. ho 5/14?
Harpjane, you live in it
joey!!!! how was spring practice?
ho/5 a dwelling
ho 5/14 - what you live in
ok capone, gotta agree with you there
ren - going on Thursday, seeing 3 games. getting excited. tks for asking
joey that's great! enjoy!!
Oh! I meant ho 5/12?
can't wait - did you go to the website and read the first half of the first chapter?
Change the middle letter to a differnt vowel
ho 5/12 - change the second vowel from the "u" to the third vowel of the alphabet
Thanks!
yes...and nut went, and i think mab went...several people went..we were wondering about ranger...do you think she's going to start writing a ranger series?
toesock - yep, i think you're right about that, cause for one thing the museums here are top notch - art institute, shedd, adler, ms&i - the food is outstanding & the architecture can be jaw dropping - it's nice to be reminded of that!
oh, lord, I don't think that I could handle a ranger series.
Wait... nyG? you mean nyC right?
joey...i think we would all plotz (faint) after the 1st chapter of the 1st book!!!
No, I don't care about the cities. New York Giants > Chicago Bears
ren, or die of the heat!!!
LOL joey...you are so right...but i would love the experience!
helen - oh yes! And of course I have awesome memories of my friend time in the Sears Tower and at Navy Pier, riding the HUGE ferris wheel! Wheeee lol
me too.............. make some dreary nights better
joey...how about drive time w/ a book on tape?
I love Chicago and all it's teams but I am proud to say that the Chicago Bear suck serious butt holio LOL Da Bears! Da Bears! Da Bears!
Blasphemer!
lol toe - but see, that's what i mean, i've never even been on that ferris wheel -been to navy pier a ton of times too, matter of fact going tomorrow with my friend to the flower & garden show
Helen, if tomorrow is anything like today I am sure they will not let anyone one the ferris wheel... too windy, but when spring comes around you should try it out! Great for a few pictures too...
ren When I lived in PA that is all that I did - books on tape - had anywhere from 30 - 50 minute one way commute every day. now, I am .9 miles from work....... don't have much alone drive time......
*Spanks Capone* NO! Naughty! Now sit down and eat your lunch like a good boy or no World Of Warcraft later
toe - i know!!! can you believe how windy it is - was out & about & had a hard time closing the car door
right joey! that is a short travel time!!! unless it would be speed reading / listening!!!
Helen same here! I was freaking out because I have a little car and the wind was really pushing my car hard. Mitsubishi eclipse.
Joey, is everything in Texas bigger? *wink* HAHA!
i get home before the car warms up in winter or cools down in summer....... love it.... a lot. however, have about 100 books on tape that I don't need anymore...... 8)
Ren! You would know too.... question below lol
yup, that is what I have been told, everything here is bigger and better, etc, etc.
World of Warcraft stinks. 10 days until my account is up! WOOT! *refresh browser for my new avatar.
Thats funny, I always heard that Texas was full of nothing but steers and <beep>.
help!! still need al's.......... thanks
toe -toyota celica here - almost the same thing, LOL
tsm...there's a lot of everything, land, highways, buildings, land, land, land....
capone, since I am neither a steer, nor (blank) guess that is not quite correct.
Just don't ride the roller coaster in Miami Helen.
hi kids.
al8 = a drinking establishment
any hints for the E on the right?
i don't ride roller coasters - one of 3 things i was not allowed to do as a child: absolutely no roller coasters, no comic books & no 3 stooges - everything else was up to me! (but miami dolphins were my favorite team for a very long time)
e4 - to review and make changes
tks cathyar. great clue
man, i AM blind today! i DO that for al iving...you think id be able to find it in the puzzle!!
hk, I gotta say they aren't for everyone, but I heart roller coasters, comics and the Stooges. NYUK!
how about clues for the lower O word?
its an oh4/6
I don't have ANY 6's...figured out the 8, but no 6's.
boreetos - that's cause you are a boy! (at least the 3 stooges part!, lol)
Capone - Aw I love your icon! Your a sweetie :) Joey & Ren - Hurray for Texas! I should visit the state some time. That is one of the few that states I have yet to visit Helen - Did you grow up in Chicago?
Can i have clues on these please? ob5 od6 ol4
hey cathy. here's a six: up6- prefix for Down. as in, I was turned up6 down
yep toesock - did spend a couple of early adult years living in the country, but circustances brought me back here
how about you toe?
TSM - if you come, let me know, I have a spare bedroom!!
have you guys tried the new sudoku site? the chat keeps flashing on the left side of my screen and it's very irritating. has it done that to anyone else?
Helen, inside and the burbs of Chicago from before I could walk!
Joey your such a sweetie! (((( ))))
no, I haven't tried it yet. and I haven't had any flashing either. sorry. :)
hurshy - i tried it last night, no problems, but then again, there were only 2 other people there & no one was talking
tks boreetos
toe - which burb?
ob5 -pl of ob4 od6 - means repulsive ol4 - there are two, one is margarine, the other just has a different final vowel
sigh...
Helen, heard of Bolingbrook?
Vicuna! Thanks!!!
Toe - home of the newest ikea!
No prob, TSM!
Ikea!!!
Lupe - YES! I went there yesterday... Was a maze!
any clues for the 8?
I would have spent way too much if I didnt have people with he telling me NO! STOP THAT! lol
al8 - compound word meaning place to buy beer
I usually go to the one in Schaumburg - tried to go to the Bolingbrook one and got there just as the doors were locked!! Have not returned!
al8 - alcohol + what you live in
LOL - I'm the same way. So I wait to go when I actually have a few dollars to spend (which is rare these days)
Okay back for my last 8. I have 15 minutes before I have to take Hannah to Daisy Scouts.
ikea is sort of like an amusement park. Confusing layout, meaningless maps, expensive food, and you can get kicked out of both for "trying out" the beds.
boreetos - is that a elephant made from cheese!? :D
Two words per minute shouldn't be too hard, Musicmom!
thanks TSM! but for the record, that whole word is where I live.
Hello! I'm back! : )
nope I'm pretty sure the ones I missed where obvious. i was just soooo sleepy.
Hi Lola!
I dont think so, but that would exceedingly cool if it were. It's yellow paisley. Similar to one I had when I was a kid.
hi lola!
Hey lupe! Hoe gaan dit met jou?? : )
You have to go by "lo4/4" today, because you're in the grid.
it's true. Hi lo4/4.
*whispers* boreetos, pregnant women see food in everything! ; )
Feeling a little sick today Lola - you?
I know! How cool! And right there along the top too! : )
lola, thanks for the tip. Cheese is good. I'm having pie for lunch today. :)
Aww, poor lupe! But seriously now, how do you know what I'm saying?? You don't have a grandparent from Bloemfontein do you??
what kind of pie?? : )
Vicuna - I noticed the other day that you are from outside of Cleveland, that is where I am from. Where at in Ohio?
I love a good pie!
Leaving again. hopefully brb. We have a lost pair of shoes.
Nothing a sick day wouldn't cure! No, my grandparents are all from Mexico. Would you believe I an just a good guesser?
S'mores pie. Chocolate cream, graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows. It's delicious.
I eat a cupcake and some crackers for lunch... then after 20 mins I also eat a cheese steak sandwitch hehehe
Toe - LOL
:) I'd eat a big cheese elephant if I had one.
krajcd, I grew up in Cleveland Hts. But I live outside of Boston now. Where are you?
Vic, I love Boston! Do you know of Dane Cook?
I live in outside of Dallas, Texas now. I grew up in North Ridgeville and also lived on the West side of Cleveland.
boreetos, is Dane Cook a person, place, or thing? (I guess that means the answer is "no.") I really like it here, too, except the driving and the price of housing.
Love Boston!! Love Cambridge. I'm itching to go back!
lupe, I am impressed! Are you okay then?
Dallas must have been a bit of culture shock, then, I'd think! I lived in Oklahoma City for a few years, and that was a different world from NE Ohio!
Okay - shoe is found. mommy to the rescue once again. Clues for the dh words?
what is a graham cracker like? I've heard of them but never tasted one : )
Dane Cook is a person, a comedian specifically, funny guy. He's from Boston. I got to see him live last year, met him after the show and he signed my t-shirt. it was cool.
sorry to drop out of that chat, phone call
Hey fellow ex-Buckeyes! I'm from just down the road - Medina.
the dh's are Hindu loincloths (end like spunkmeyer cookies or an old-fashioned brand of elevators)
I remember when we first moved to Texas, everything was so bright and clean compared to Cleveland...always gloomy and dark and dirty. I love the weather here, but I can do without the hot summers. I do miss the snow, not the cold weather 9 months out of the year.
Indian words for loincloth men wear dh***
Hey Vic - where in NE Ohio? I'm in Albany (just outside of Athens.) Also just read in your bio you are a quilter. Me too.
wow! really? Never had a graham cracker?! Hmm. they were pretty much a staple when I grew up. Let's see, they... well... they kinda... um... they're good? It's hard to explain.
Thanks got them.
boreetos, that doesn't help much, lol! Are they sweet or savoury?
I'm fine - just been waking up with my throat on fire for about 4 days now and wish it would either go away, or come at me full force so I can knock it out my system. Thanks for asking. It's hard to come to work when I feel like crap first thing in the morning!
Torgone - I have inlaws that live in Medina.
...the cavalry is here : )
Graham crackers are great! They're sweetish, but not too much, reasonably healthy for a tasty snack, great dipped in milk or spread with peanut butter, nutella, jam... We consume a lot of them at our house!
lola, graham crackers are sweet; used to make crust for cheesecake.....
lupe, I've just recovered from something like that. Are you at work now?
lola - i really like them, but they're hard to describe, somewhat sweet with a nice texture & good with milk
graham crackers are a sweet (sometimes cinnamon) flavored breakfast/dessert crackers. More like a cookie actually.
musicmom, Cleveland Hts. And technically it's the piecing I really like. I always consider the actual quilting to be a chore!
Grahams are also an excellent way to use leftover cake frosting. We make sandwiches with it.
Sure am lola...under two hours to go.
man, I am failing miserablly at describing what a graham cracker is like. They are like regular crackers, but a little softer, and they are a little sweet. They are a golden brown color, and segmented to easily snap into fourths.
lol - a meeting of the graham cracker fan club!!!
*lola swoons into the arms of her knight in shining armour*
I like both - piecing and quilting although for time sake I send some of my tops out for machine quilting.
are they like digestive biscuits?
MusicMom, we used to do that too! My greatgrandma and I would always make frosting cookies with leftover frosting! that's awesome!
Take it easy lola. Can't you see Anj is here?? jk Hi Anj!!
Yes, lola, a bit like that, but thinner and rectangular.
Swoons? Are they like hives?? ; )
lola, not as dense more crumby,
Aww, poor lupe! ((x)) Hope you feel better soon. Is the weather still sub-zero? If so that can't be helping : (
Yes Lola - kind of like that.
what pray-tell are digestive biscuits?
Hi Torgone : )
Okay. Now the other shoe is lost - JOY! I still have four left. Will be back after Girl Scouts and dinner.
so then you've never tasted the splendor that is the s'more?!
bye mm.
boreetos, they are sort of like graham crackers ; )
lola, if you have a Safeway near you they probably carry them. Also excellent crust for creme pies
long-delayed answer to boreetos: with all that Boston has to offer, with young kids I just don't get out much! (That's a euphemism for saying I haven't done anything cool for 3.5 years!)
LOL lola...
Now it's snack time and i am going to have an apple! Yum :) Hey Boreetos I want a cheese elephant too!
it is a delight! A camping activity most of the time, you take a stick and roast a marshmallow over the fire. THen you smash the roasted marshmallow between two graham crackers with a chuck of chocolate in the middle! They are awesome!
20 words left to fiiiind! ah!
hey anj...i did the 1st sudoku last night...only there was no one left....8(
Actually graham crackers were created by a guy name Graham to control lust in the 1800's.
vic, that's cool, his humor isn't really for eveyone, it can be a little crude at times, but I enjoy it.
chic, I did before Morrisons took them over! I'll look around though : ) boreetos, no s'mores here I'm afraid : ( ...you'll have to have an extra slice for me : )
Hi Ren...I looked for the solution today, but the archive puzzle was a different one from the beast Dr G threw at us guinea pigs : )
Quick word about s'mores before I go to Girl scouts (famous for s'mores). You can now buy indoor s'more makers at Target or Walmart. They use a sterno burner and sit on the table. Easy and safe to use. We have one for those times when a campfire isn't possible.
i have to get back to work. I'll see you kids either later, or tomorrow! bye!
Later beans ;) lol
anj...that's a bummer...i didn't look at the archive...i looked at today's puzzle and thought about trying it after work.
kraj?? Biscuits can do that?? : D
'bye boreetos : )
Anj, did you finish the soduko grid last night?
lola - Yes they can. A 200 pound box of graham crackers dropped on the head = temporary lust relief.
torgone, LOL! : D
I suspect that a 200 lb box of graham crackers eaten would work, too. oog!
LOL!!! : D
lola that sudoku puzzle was a nightmare on elm street!!!!
Ren , i finished todays in 25 mins or so...i'm not adept at them tho' : / Lo, no, I gave up on yesterday's. There were only 10 logical numbers then the logic went dead and I was too tired to start mucking about with the potentials...
... cant' wait to try it when I get back.... *returns to grid and Coronation St*....
LOL! Apparently it does! But back in the 1800's graham crackers were made with wheat and today's graham crackers are made with white flour. You can find the wheat graham crackers in a health food store.
ren, I confess that I took one look and ran away! : ( if I EVER find my last 6 words I'm going to have a try on tonights grid : )
Hi all, back to find a few more.
*gives babs quick hug before she can get away*
Hi deutsch! : )
eerrrkkk! can't....... breathe........ : /
lola - dr g-d said today's was easier....easier than what? i will give another go as well.
Anj, got two pi's...what do the other two start with??
*lola lets go of babs* : )
i've never done sudoku before and i'm doing ok at this one. but nobody is chatting over there
al6/21?
lol pu - gay guys, to you brits
ren, number puzzles don't normally interest me the way words do, but I'm willing to have Dr G's new game change my mind : )
There's not much to chat about over there. Unless you want to give clues. But it's fun anyway!
noooo!!! I was on a roll there!! gimme another hug, Lola!! I need help to find my words before my sister gets back..... oh nooo.... too late.... : / 18 words to go...... back later............. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! :'(
al6/21 - al + first two letters of opp. of even + last two letters of Mrs von Trapp
Wow am I stuck now... with 20 words left too :(
lola...i can't remember phone numbers...i will try just because
It's not really a number puzzle. It's a logic puzzle. You could use any sort of symbol to do suduku. It wouldn't have to be numbers.
lola, that is how i feel, but with it being spring break, lots of free time, sudoku isn't a bad way to pass a little of it, i'm finding
Thanks Vicuna! never heard of it!
It's not so much about numbers as it is logic. You could use any set of nine symbols for the grid.
hiya everyone!!!!
jinx!
I've done sudoku using just letters. Dr. G said he would use animals. He said that's really harder than it looks.
Hi bex!
If you go Pro on Iron Sodoku you can use letters : )
logix? logic? lojic? lojix?
have u finished the sudoku?
The nice thing about numbers is that you can easily recognize which ones are missing. With an arbitrary set of 9 things, you'd have to check down a list every time.
animals! i'll stick with numbers.
no bex, why didn't you say hi to me over there?
hiya hurshy!!!!
Anj, have you gone pro?
And I can never remeber telephone numbers, either. Not even my own! ( Very embarassing!)
hurshy, thanks...but I can't find them : ( Gay guys?
good afternoon babblers... how goes it
im not really on there i think i just forgot to sign out!!!
Lola, think cotton balls
Lola, or the majic dragon
torgone, true. I will stop being such a wussie and learn to solve sudoku grids like everyone else! : )
dh/5 help any1?
*sigh* Now I see the other F!...aaargh! Thank you : )
dh5 and 6 - hindu loincloths
Hi kissmy : )
Actually, Dr_God's is the first one I've tried. I thought I was doing well until I got near the end, and realized I had made some mistakes.
well that's the slang bridget jones used, lola...
Deutsch,, no chance, not until I find I have some aptitude for seeing patterns : /
hurshy, I'm down to 4 x 4 letter words left with no list. Does grovelling on the chat log count as cheating?? ; )
ty vicuna
...well, is that the time? Gotta go... lol!
Anj, Someone gave me a book for Christmas. It had some hints on how to solve. I'm still not fast, but I can do them.
: P
Bye, Ajn, I must run, too! later!
'bye deutsch : )
later anj later deutsch
Bye guys.
Anj, I've got bi x 3, bl x 1 and bo x 4...missing 1? : )
...does silly walk back into log. There, did you miss me? : )
lola - if it does then meet the biggest cheater around...
bo4 3 x 6 and 2 x 7 : )
You'll be doing the painful silly walk if you're not careful... ; )
Are you from the Ministry?
Um...what?! : /
Yes, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I'm afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently, and so it takes me rather longer to get to my pc : )
Good evening all ;o)
Hi bobsta! : )
Yo Bobsta! I think they've all gone to play Sodoku : /
hey bobsta
Anj, your clue makes no sense! : /

hi kids.
you guys ever seen a movie called Midnight Madness?
hi boreetos!
hi boreetos!
nope on the movie
it was Michael J. Fox's first movie, anyhow, the movie is about a scavenger hunt and one of the clues takes them to the Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery.
it was the PBR discussion that brought to my mind.
boreetos, is the movie any good?
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
as good as a heartwarmingly cornball eighties movie can be I guess. I like it, but I think a lot of that is nostalgia.
i loved the neverending story as a kid, when i watched it as an adult i was surprised to find it so much cheesier than i remembered...
its true, Labyrinth is like that for me.
help with the he 4's please i have topof the body, bottom of body, and past tense of hold?
lol, i was so confused there bex... you want another word for "hi!" but without the double consonant
"bottom of body" would be heel. the one you have means to get better...

Hey all... did the dishes & got the kids, now it's relax time...
hurshy, such a shame that babble picks sides on the dog dialect. b/c it offers both American and British versions of words.
perhaps...or is your dog foreign? methinks it's "woof" in english
hello all!!!!
oh, bex!
Thanks hurshy

Wow, can I clear a room or what?
I thought it was me Jera!!
Hi I was on the phone. Our banker called with our credit reports. I was nervous, but it turned out good. I have 5 words to go and I want them!
Congrats on the good news! Need any help or are you doing okay?
Done! Now I want to try out the new Sudoku on Dr. God's link. I'm strangely bi-mental (okay THAT doesn't sound good)... I mean I'm pretty good with both words and numbers. I'm also ambidextrous and was born breech (backwards) so maybe that has something to do with it. Happy Babbling!
there's like this parallel universe at Iron Sodoku... worth checking out... off to bed... nite all :D
Thanks, Jera, I only need the pi 5 and I'm done. Can you help with a simple, and I mean simple, clue? Please?
pi5 = very religious, like a priest or nun or a pope
Of course! Thanks, Jera! And I'm done.
Huzzah for Deutsch!! Have you tried sudoku yet???
Oh & please join & contribute to my new site... link is under Friends of Babble (Babbler 4 Dummies)
Yes, I got a book for Christmas and have been enjoying it ever since. Finished Dr. G's soduko earlier. How about you?
Thanks, Jera. I checked it out earlier. When I get a minute, I'll sign up. I already have a yahoo account. Can I use that one?
I'm not very good at sudoku (never finished), but find it very relaxing to try... must be the triple magic! Yes, your yahoo account is fine!
Greetings All. I'm having issues with the last TO word it is a TO5/12. I have the one above the city. Thanks. THere is something wrong with our tv set and my hubby has to work late tonight so I think I'll try out sodoku when I finish babble. I've never played before.
Sorry I had to go supervise a homework project that involved cutting & pasting...
to5 is like when you pay a fee to use a road... make it past tense & removed one of the doubled consonants...
Jera, I have that one. I need the last one please. THanks.
Oops, sorry... last one rhymes with small squeaky rodent...
sorry Jera, not getting it. is there another clue or hint you could drop please?
Minski it ends in ed *tee hee*

Thank you thank you Kiss ---- I would have NEVER found those. I'm finished!

I'm thinking about it as soon as Jeopardy is over. That is if a big storm doesn't make me shut down the computer. I like sudoku on paper - thought I would check out Dr._God's spot.
ha 4/5 anyone?
That Scottish word that shows up frequently. Ends in the squiggly letter.
ty mm i am watching jeopardy too
cl pl for al8
lbetter - compound word for a pub or bar
tks couldnt see it for looking
No problem aknitter - continental congress
Did I get it? I don't know.
hey mm thanks for the compound word clue, hadn't found that yet. how much did you wager? ARE you rich now?
you got it right
Thanks was being mom
i always like to pretend to bet a lot on the clue. i am sure that if i were on the show i'd forget my own name
Yep No doubt.I was on our High School academic team - it isn't easy when you have to ring in.
I like it when I know the answer and the players don't. Makes me feel like a smarty pants.
and the anwer is .... missing a bo 4/6
Okay - going over to sudoku to check it out.
well at least my pants are smart, don't know about the rest of me!
Anyone need any clues before I go over there for a little?
raises hand a bo 4/6
have the one that sounds like a hat and the light ning
this is one that ends in the first vowel, one that ends in the second vowel (first three letters are the same on these) and one that locks the door.
oops that should be "There is"
do you have the one that sounds like what you eat cereal out of?
it was the 2nd vowel
i have only one left a do 4
Any thing else?
i have the dumb person and the go and do -**
do you have the pineapple brand?
dumb me it was the pineapple all done thanks for the clues
CONGRATS!
u 2, have fun suduko - ing it is fun
going to sudoku.
do/5 any1?
rhymes with h5
ah ha ty maybe u have also a id/4 i have the "american" & have the lightbulb
JW kansas or missouri
sounds like the other id4, but change the vowel and reverse the last two letters
Missouri...where are you?
Nebraska
Nice to see a midwestern american here....not that many of us
definetly, we need some people here who actually know where nebraska and missouri are!!!
Oooh, did I see Nebraska? Where? I lived in Bellevue for 3 1/2 years.
Omaha representing :) why'd you move away?
JW sounds like which id/4 american or lightbulb?
We (my hubby being the Navy man) were stationed at STRATCOM. I REALLY miss Omaha!!! It's a great city!
Hi Jen. I see you, like myself, have retreated from the flashing Sudokuh.
american...means not much movement, lazy perhaps
Oh Jac, I'm glad I wasn't the only one experiencing the seizure-indicing screen!
oops, meant inducing.
its fun i agree i couldnt move anywhere east of here, id only go west... arizona, cali, oregon, somewhere where i would never have to feel the freezing cold and blistering humidity, which we both know so well lol
Jen - I'm rubbish at number puzzles anyway but that flashing screen made me not even try.
ah ha finally got it ty ty ty
Anyone need any clues for the grid while I'm here?
I love my east coast though... I actually couldn't do the west (except Colorado). Love how family friendly it is... children's museum, baseball, football (yes, I learned to like the Huskers), and the zoo! Ah the zoo!! It's 100% better than the National Zoo here in DC!! Oh, can't forget Ameristar Casino! ;)
hi everyone! just stopped in on my way to do research for school...(((jacs)))
i know how to fix the flashing sudoku screen!
I said it last night and I'll repeat it again tonight... {{down with numbers}} {{down with numbers}} lol
sudoku *gag*
you just have to upgrade from firefox 1.0 to 1.5
don't know if you guys WANT to, but that is how you do it
I have firefox 1.5
Temple - Hi!xx Hurshy - E-mail Dr_God about it. Jen - I know. I read it. LOL.
lol getting another casio horeshoe something or other and yes the zoo is absolutely amazing we recently got this glass ceiling "desert" dome it is one of the most beautiful places
BBL dinner is burning ......ah
jac - he knows, it was he that said in the log that that was how to fix it
where is that, kiss?
I also have Firefox 1.5.
hmmm... then i don't know, jen, but it doesn't sound like you care, so...
Omaha, NE
I love the desert dome except when it's in the 80s outside... too hot! Although it's great in January! LOL
ah well, just saw the posts about the flashing screen and thought i would pop in and help... so much for that... can't get rid of this headache!!! see you later...
never been in the midwest...love to see our whole country.. oh well - have to go...i may be back later - tryhing to catch rennie, since my homework is legal she may have a suggestion...happy babbling everyone!!!
later TO!
'Bye Hurshy & Temple. Nice to 'see' you.xx
Off to read my son a book before bedtime. See you guys tomorrow! :)
So, Jen. Have you finished the grid?
Ah! I see you have.
babble grid yes, number crap, no. ;)
LOL. Enjoy your story, Jen. I used to love reading to my kids.
He's brushing his teeth right now... I'm thinking a Pooh story tonight! :)
Oh well, I can't sleep right now due to stomach ache and back ache. If no one needs any clues for the grid I'll go back to sorting my computer files out. I'll pop back into here every now and then... Jen - how about the balloon adventure for Pooh?
He loves Pooh Invents a New Game (it's about Poohsticks), so I'll probably go with that one... haven't read it in about a month.
Okay, Jen. I remember the feeling. Mind you, you know it by heart now, surely?
Bouncy or coffy, it's all the same at the bottom of the river, replied Eeyore gruffly.
an't dig the book out right now but REFRESH to see Eeeyore.:-)
anyone can help with the ob5/14 anthe 4/6 please
ob4 & pl. 5 - In West African folklore, a gigantic animal that steals into villages by night to kidnap girls on behalf of witches. In some Caribbean cultures the word is used to refer to overpowering and extremely evil forms of witchcraft and sorcery. Bewitched objects, buried with the intent of causing harm, are sometimes called ob**.
If you have the other two ob4/6's then just change the last letter for the first vowel in vowel list, then pluralise the word.
Jacula my many thanks ,i might for the second time ever to finnish this one
Yvo - Glad to help. Ask whenever you need to.
I like to give the proper definitions of words where I can to start with because a) It's good to learn new words. b) A word is more likely to be remembered once its definition is known and c) You can often Google definitions to find the word! (LOL)
it was quite a message but would have never got it .
...Failing that, I give 'driving directions', for which I am very grateful from other Babblers, at times, myself.
the ho5/12 is giving me a problem
Need any more clues, Yvo? If so, just ask.
Ho 5/12 rhymes with what models have to have - po***. It's what a crane does or what sailors did with the mainsail.
thank you ,why couldnt i find that???
Because we all go word blind after a while of looking at the grid. Any more?
all boxes a grey exept for the T
Let me guess... to6/21 or to5/12?
ti5/12 to4/4 and to5/12
to4/4 & pl. 5/12 - A lacquered or enameled metalware, usually gilded and elaborately painted. Sounds like what a bell do or what you may have to pay to cross over a bridge.
ti5/12 relates to the ti4 of the sea. You may hear about ti*** waves devastating a beach or a seaside community.
(A tsunami is a gigantic ti*** wave.)
Have you got those, Yvo?
got all of the ti just short of the "to " i had the 2 you gave clues for
hi all
Hello Angel!
Hi Angel and Onpaki.
Yvo - to5/12 - sounds like and ro5 meaning to wake someone. But this one refers to what you might do to your hair to get aa messy look. Try that!
Forget the fact that my typing seems to have gone to pot! LOL.
to4/4 - currency of New Guinea, maybe? Foot digit + first vowel in vowel list.
one more T and ive done it thanks to you Jacula
The other to4/4 rhymes with Coca Cola.
got it im finnished it ,im one happy camper
thank you so much
You are very welcome, Yvo. *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR YVO*~*~*~*~*~
ahhhh....dinner prepared by the chef....
Hi Evanadine. I get that on a Sunday.
thank you again ,i will retire and say good nite its been a pleasure,
yeah...but my chef is boyardee...heh
The rest of the week he either eats it gratefully or pokes his nose in and disputes my way of doing things. LOL.
Jac, a clue for to6/21 pls?
Goodnight, Yvo. Sweet, Babblefree dreams.
al6/21 or di4/6 anyone?
Hello to those Babblers who have chosen not to play with numbers!
to5/12 - it's been in the grid in past few days... A fine-tempered sword or steel sword blade made in Spain. Also, a city in Spain and a city in NW Ohio.
WOLFIE! ))))))))))))HUGS(((((((((((((( ( Oops! Sorry! Didn't mean to knock you and Seb over andf squash you both.:-(
GW -- i already played with numbers...heh
Begging for help with last three words: al 8/50 al 6/21 od 6/24 Many thanks!!!!!!!
(((**Jac**))) -- you just got me -- Seb is in his bassinet :) evan -- I am heading there after I finish here :)
al6/21 - a Christian Nubian kingdom or a saint, 'Sister of Saint Nunilo. Muslim father and a Christian mother, she was raised Christian. When her father died, her mother married another Muslim man who persecuted the girls, imprisoned them, and turned them over to die during the persecution of Abdur Rahman II.'
J2, the al8 is an compound word-an old fashioned place to go and get a tankard
Are you, Wolfie? Oh bugger! Not another numbers person.
Jac -- not a number person, a logic game person -- and I have been curious about Sudoku for awhile now --- just haven't wanted to pay to try it
Oh, not familiar with either Spain or Ohio, but got it eventually. Tks ;)
di4/6 - What you have to go with Nachos. Cheese and chive, sour cream etc. Or, what ladies may have taken in the sea in Victorian times or did when they curtsied.
Yea, but, Wolfie, it's in all our UK papers for free every day and it's $14.90 or so if you want an icon on Jamie's site. LOL.
Thanks for the great hints Eva and Jacula! Still need help on: od 6/24
Thanks Jacula, for the di. Still working on the al.
So I won't get an icon! My local paper finally started printing it a few weeks ago, but I don't have the time to work on it due to entertaining the little one :)
od6/24 - Arousing or meriting strong dislike, aversion, or intense displeasure. Sounds kind of very nasty or smelly.
ho5/12?
and the last to5/12?
Ho 5/12 rhymes with what models have to have - po***. It's what a crane does or what sailors did with the mainsail.
found the ho
Jacula--huge thanks. I have finally finished!
Last to5/12 - plural of the to4 before it.
sorry to make you repeat yoruself jacula! Just needed to look back in the log.
Eva - it's okay. I really don't mind when the log's slow and easy and I'm not on a word hunt. I also realise that not everyone has a fast broadband connection and some are even still on clunky dial-up connections.
By 'clunky' I mean the sort when the pc makes all sort of noises and you go away to make tea and toast while it is deciding whether or not to show you what you want to see.
missing one 6-letter word... i have A6, L6, O6, T6, U6
dh6/24. Plural of the word before it.
(A loincloth worn by Hindu men in India.)
dang! i knew that word and tried it a hundred times without the H!
Never mind, Evan, you've got it now.
i'm not making any progress. i need a break. thanks for all your help :) hope to be back soon. ciao!
Done!! Thanks for understanding Jacula. We are on one of those dial-ups. it looked as if broadband was going to be coming our way this spring, but now it turns out that we can't get the signal and until the park a repeater somewhere on a hill we have to keep what we have. It's not so bad. But sometimes when I'm not feeling so great it is a bit much to scroll through all the past logs. And I only had a few left to find. So I thought I'd be lazy and lean on those of you already done. Nice to have people you can rely on for leaning upon(-:
Later, Onpaki. Sometimes, taking a break from the grid works wonders for the eyesight.
goodnight all.

Any more clues needed?
le5?
I will need a couple more I am sure, Jac :)
So my last ones to find are al5/12, le5 and le6
al 5/12 - al + a girl's toy, drop last L
Thank you monkey typing! I am done!! The scary thing is that there have only been about 45 posts since I logged in ;D
want to share that le5?
oh, and congrats :)
it's a real weird one -- no def -- let me think a sec
GW -- hows new-baby-life?
le5 & 6 (pl) are Hawaiian flowers.
pretty good -- he is still a bit fussy at night still, but overall, we are doing good --- And since they reassigned me to work in the office at work, life has stabilised a bit more
anagram of un-he/5 (to make well or better).
le + the ha4/5 except drop the last 2 letters and insert a u at the 4th position
Sorry, Wolfie, am I being too harsh with my clues again?
yay stability! hehe
haha ha 4/5 drop the last two letters. my kinda clue :)
evan -- unfortunately with stability comes fewer hours -- being in the office has traditionally meant 2.5 hours of overtime every week (8-5 with a half hour break) -- the new plant manager has decided that we no longer have to do that :( I may have to go back to Lenscrafters one night a week to make up for that decision :'(
You see, in the aftermath of the Miya/Lemon thing, I saw Hurshy being got at for her clues. I've never had a problem with her clues, nor with any of the folks who had a go about them, nor with her attitude. But that's just me. And as for Miya and Lemon - I would say just get back here and get on with it, you two.
Okay, now I'm in a dilema: to find the last (more obscure) 38 words, or catch up on the doings of the Babble crew, as I've been out of the Babbleverse for a while... hhmm, words, or people? hmm
Okay, PEOPLE! What's going on? GW? Miya & Lemon? (sounds like a trendy drink...)
Oh, and HI! everybody!
hi jb
Jac -- I am so over the whole Miya debacle and I never complain about clues that make me think unless I need 10 words in 5 minutes ;D
JBS -words first! There isn't much time left. \You can enquire about people along the way.... LOL.
Hey JB!
Leslie, Jac, GW, good to be back on the board. And since I have to go to bed (tomorrow's the up before 5am day) very soon, I think I'll skip the oh-no-I've-got-10-minutes-for -30-words-rush so I won't have bad dreams!
JBS - you can either go back to the achives of about a week ago, re the Miya/Lemon thing or just carry on on here.
Right, JBO - what do you need to finish?
Thanks, Jac! Rather than you guys reliving any nastiness or "good grief enough already" I was going to ask for time references. BTW, bed sounds good right now, as I made the 2nd post on this board this morning - Sprite beat me!
ok, im zonked. gnite babblers!!
So long evan -- sleep well!
g'nite, evandine!
Well, JBS, since Sprite still holds the No.1 position on Babble rankings I guess she's kinda entitled to the first post on the flip at times. LOL.
i'm confused about this "debacle"... what day was it?
Bless you, Jac! You are just raring to go, and it's just 11pm here in Philadelphia - YAWN!
JB -- the easiest way to get caught up in the Miy/Lemon fiasco other than going back to see for yourself is to email me -- I can fill you in with the Reader's Digest version :)
LOL, Jac, you are right on. It's fun to sit here at the flip and try to get the first post, but I really regret it in the morning when the alarm goes off!
What I would like to know is how do I get up of 21 on rankings? Doo I have to wait for someone above me to either get sick of, get sick ot go on holiday for about 5 weeks? Can't see any other way of getting up from #21.
Oh, and how's MamaBear - is she well now? Did she get another job? And has anyone ever heard back from SmeltzDog? I miss the ottoman jumping!
Hewo! Guess who beat the sudoku monster today??/ *mamabear looks around the room then points to self.... Who, ME?*
GW! Did you see on the news? John Cheney, Bball coach at Temple, just retired!
Can I just add here that it was me that first used the word 'debacle' for the M/L thing?
evening all -- I was on earlier, but did not get to finish much. Here goes....
MAMA! Just in time to answer my post!
hi mama, pbr
hi JBS!!!!!!! good to see you!!!!!!!! No, no new job for me yet..... long story..... thanks for remembering and asking :)
GW, where's them keys? (to the 'cuzzi) - I think it's time for a WHIRL!
that's why i was confused, jac. last i heard, lemon was sick... not sure how that changed into a debacle
Jac starts to worry now thatthat the word grid and the number grid might divide us all.:-(
Jac, I bow to your #21. Be not dismayed, you could be where I am. Hmm, where am I, anyway? I haven't checked for a while!
Hi Leslie Ann, Jacula, pbr.... GW..... evanadine.... Not to worry, Jac..... Babble is my first love!!!!
Jac, words will win, every time. Only police talk in numbers, and you know how warm and fuzzy that profession is! 10-4!
pbr! Do you have your sippy cup?
LA - Wolfie will fill you ihn on all of that. A lurker of the peach blossom kind questioned, and so it went on...
Ottomans???? cuzzis??????? sippy cups??????? ALLLLRIGHTY THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *SPLASH*
oops..... *mamabear hangs head low and creeps out of cuzzi..... "I forgot.... I didn't finish the grid yet...."*
Geez, I am only 1/2 way through --
Hey, you all (dropping to a whisper), I have REALLY good news on my end. My husband just got a fellowship in Sleep Medicine, so he's going to be a sleep doctor in July of 2007. We are very happy for this wonderful answer to prayer. AND WE DON'T HAVE TO MOVE!
happy evening all! i pathetically only have 18 words.
JBS - my ex bro-in-law is a policeman, but he still likes his 'poorly blanket' at his Mum's when he's not well, and tea and coffee (made the 4-yr-old's way) with about half a pint of milk wherever he visits.
MB, I gave up on the words, get back in here SINCE YU SPLASHED MOST OF THE WATER OUT ANYWAY!
yay JBsAnno! congrats!!!
pbr -- it's not that bad, really -- I was able to finish in just under an hour tonight, thanks to the able cluing of Jac -- you will finish if she has anything to say about it! JB -- writing a reply to you right now :)
smaller, welcome! Make sure your sippy cup has a lid, 'cuz MB's splashy tonight!
can I have a clue for to5/12 have the one that means to draw or cause to follow Please
gw, i just sent you a note as well, copy me on that?
Wiil do LA!
Well, the pool looks quite full now and I am tired. I'll retire to annoy my Love now.
wonderful news, jb!
Jac, a blanket is sounding good right now....and I love tea with lots of cream and sugar!
congrats to JBs hubby!!!! Great news!!!!!!!!!!
WHOO HOO - *splashes Jac as she gets out of the 'cuzzi* Nite, Jac!
JB, no worries, I have a sippy cup AND a bib! they are a must as I age.
Look out, GW, I have over 4500 messages in my inbox. I believe Yahoo when it says it has lots of storage!
the dh's?
smaller, I'm older than you, and I refuse to wear a bib! But all my coffee cups have lids, because I tend to spill things OR someone at work thinks it's funny to throw chocolate kisses into my open cups.
holy moly, JB. 4500?!!! you are hereby Miss Popularity!
Shorty - try past tense of to 4/4.
to 5/12's - rhymes with another word for home, and for whom the bell ***** - make it past tense, one L
I have that one I need the other one Please
LA - think "rhymes with spotty" but use the 3rd vowel on the end, stick the h in where indicated, and of course, only one t. Great clue, huh? Told y'all it's time for bed!
to 5/12 - rhymes with mouse
it took me a while, but i got it! thanks jb.
Ty krajcd55
and the plural, LA - don't forget the plural! <wonders to self, why don't they just call it underwear?>
Hi. I'm back again. Still can't find the Si5/12. Please help.
Your welcome, Shorty.
s + **** hands
smaller - think ezine subscriptions! Palm pilot updates, Phila weekend doings, and Dilbert cartoons. Yup, I'm kinda'v a geek!
Miknski: rhymes with BRIDLE hee
Thanks Leslie and N8. Got it.
JB, do you mean Enzyte? well....that's.....great. at least it's natural. i wonder what it does to girls. let's find some one to try it on to see what it does for girls. inquiring minds.
Minski, it's a word mystery authors use to describe a suspicious person's movement: "as MamaBear prepared more mamosas in the pantry, she saw the butler si--- up to her out of the corner of her eye" Oh, yes, and that happened on a dark and stormy night...
why would she be preparing mimosas in the pantry?
Am I in a story again??? And here I am just floating in the cuzzi minding my own businesss...... LOL
oh, smaller, LOL! Zines! Magazines in e-format! <those enzyte commercials creep me out> But, let me know the results of your experiment!
LeslieAnn, b/c the bathroom was already queued with pottiers
oh, i guess you have a point, smaller.
This is so funny, JBs...... as we are talking, I am IMing with someone I met on line through another game site and he is a butler!!!!!! oooeee ooooeee oooeeeee
See, and Minski already got the clue when I was elaborating. Good thing I'm not an author (yet)!
Mamabear, perfect target! : )
watch your back, mama!!
I've been doing alot of that lately!
Mamabear, tell him we say hi.
to6/21 please
It's a zine, MB - oops, I meant SIGN!

leslieann, thank you!! pretty shoes!
That is strange, MB - cue up the Twilight Zone music!
ty
thanks smaller, although they are the first to pop up when you google "ballet shoes"
I got my icon googling "cat +ballet" if you look close, she's wearing a tiny tutu
He is in Canada..... interesting chap!!!! But the butler thing.... still very oooeee oooeee oooeeee!!!
LeslieAnn, speaking of google, did you know there's a "preferences" button to the right of the search thingy. and if you click on it you can change the language to like pig latin and elmer fudd?
excellent choice, jb
I only have 5 more I'm tired and my brain ain't working
mine's elmer fudd currently
but you can do like french, russian, spanish, etc too
i have played with that before... also, if you do the google moon thing, where they have pics of the moon, and you zoom in enough time it turns into a picture of cheese
that must make searching take a lot longer with all those stutters
up6/27 please
well actually, yes there are a lot of delays. but the giggles are worth it what? like it's NOT made of cheese?
nevermind got it
Ladies, and gents! the time has come when I must retire. I bid you a fond goodnight, so good to chat with you all after being off for a few weeks. Thanks for all your good wishes, warm welcome, and fun with words in the 'cuzzi! Please make sure someone shuts off the lights, and locks the gate so there aren't any debacles floating in it for the butler to find in the morning! <snickers towards MamaBear> Good night!
yay shorty! that's the up6/27 of asking for a clue. you find it as soon as it posts

need help with al 6 Thanks in adv.
al 6 = al + 4th vowel + 1st 3 letters of a gem ( the kind that cuts glass)
thanks.... Njoy...
Can anyone confirm to me that ALTIUS is a word . I think it is a word, (used in the Olympics) ... it means higher or to aim higher.... It is in the Grid but not in the dictionary which the Grid uses. Njoy...
9 - it does not appear to be in the enable dictionary that the grid uses. 8(
ALTIUS can also be found in a Botanical dictionary. Njoy....
if you see the reference dictionary the Grid uses, for the AL6 is says "No entry found for al------" Njoy....
