yay melon!
I wont lie... I absolutely listened to zevon today lol
ty for the po 7, 8!
... the werewolves of london, owoooooo ya!
what is zevon?
Warren Zevon is the artist who wrote and sang Werewolves of London
His hair was perfect ..
oh
wi 6
Its not where I got the name, but it's still a terribly fun song =)
He also wrote "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" which was actually a big hit for one of our Canadian country singers.... he was diverse, that's for certain!
I enjoy a fair bit of his music. He's not my favorite, but he's certainly decent, imo
hi diane :) i remember that song, but can't remember who sang it... but i'm pretty sure anne murray covered it ;)
where'd you get moonwoof from?
Really? Zevon sang it, originally, as well. He sang most everything he wrote to the best of my knowledge
Well, there's a thing called a "wolf run" where Ive done most of my growing up... and it involved mead, a full moon and skinny-dipping lol
yes he did... then Lynda Rondstadt did it, and an Alberta C & W singer, Terri Clark had a hit with it more recently
So I'll spare the details, and just say the water was cold. But I got called that for a while.
so your moonwoof name is appropriate :-)
huh. I love covers, in general. I shall go look for them later, ty for mentioning!
hahaha, thank you for sharing moon taht paints quite a picture :))
nbt/nbs
go, go jellen!
I spelled Linda Ronstadt totally wrong !

no explanation.. just doing other things

<---- thiunks everyone shoiuld dance nekkid at least once :D
Im inclined to agree
I probably did as a baby, so that will have to count ..
I have.. just can't get too close to walls though
yur not nekkid if'n yu gots a didie on....
a little self-aggrandizement there?
<---lips are sealed

HAHA
aggrandisement... too tired to spell right even if fingers co-operate... ruru's got static cling WHERE????
fading fast...
I didn't say I was Rubbing the wall

I didnt think martini's did much sealing...
grats jili!
ah, that explains it jill, well if you are going to poof, have a good sleep
no martinis here, just pure vodka on the rox with a bit of lime. Only one. A glass of wine with dinner.
trying to picture a cocktail harpooning a seal....
hey all, saw the pic you posted of Vesuvius, Jill -- makes me homesick
I have to go through Lickety's list before crashing though.
hi stiddie :)
Hi stid. When are you coming?
going to watch some TV. now.. night all have fun
niters ruru, enjoy :)
night ruru and Dylan
sweet dreams, ruru
youll have mail soon! {ru}
not sure, jill -- was hoping for the end of this month, but with the funeral that weekend, it's not looking likely... probably have to push into August at this point, assuming I don't have a classroom of my own to plan for it is wide open.
oooh. NBT and NBS, but not halfway yet.
and stid, maybe you'll need to do some supervising of the building of your new house?
go, stid, go!
I might, jill -- but right now it's in such a holding pattern and time is running out on the rate we were pre-approved for. I really hope this is going to happen, but at the moment, I am thinking long-term apartment living again.
oh no, stid!
surely, you can shop around for another mortgage company who will match the rate? competition is high...
the house we have planned for and signed the contract on is quite expensive. The rate we had was VERY good for a construction loan, and rates have gone up since then.
they don't want to lose your business to another bank/holding company
To be honest, I don't know that any of it is worth the effort. I want to rebuild, but not at the cost of my sanity. We don't even know that the permits will be possible within the time frame...
Keep the faith, stid!
thanks jill and kate -- something will happen, some time, but I am not holding my breath
why is it in a holding pattern?
between bank approval of the contract we signed with the builder, the builder having not yet submitted permits for building (and who knows how long getting permits will take!)... it's in a holding pattern. We are also still waiting for the final answer on why the house burned, as well as the final decision on how much we will receive to reimburse us for the contents.
How terrible that other people are delaying things for you -- can't your bank see that?
that's a lot of pressure stiddie, are you coping okay - really?
a lot of it is our fault, too, jill -- we didn't make several things clear from the start and that has meant additional delays.
no kate, to be honest I am NOT coping well. But I am coping, and there is no alternative to this. I will make it through, but it's going to be messy.
I am a person who hates transitions of ANY kind, even good ones. So... I know myself and am doing what I must to keep myself and my family as intact as possible. Looking for work, while financially a high priority is pretty low on my list of things to do.
alternate idea - if you are not "married" to the house, sell it to a developer or professional and just get another house... i've seen it done. unless you are filthy rich, most of the value of the house is in the land.... and the house is not beyond repair
"Life is not all froth and bubble. Two things stand alone-- Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in your own." I wish your bank, contactors, and so on, would heed that.
Kate, the house has been demolished.
it's our HOME, kate -- we own the land, it just lacks shelter... my garden is there, and my heart. And Jill -- I believe our builders and the insurance adjusters and the bank people really are good, kind people -- or we wouldn't be dealing with these particular people. But still, things get missed and mis-understood, and that makes things rougher.
yes, stidddie, i agree. the house is your number one priority atm.... keep plugging away one thing at a time.... "what's for you won't go past you" my grandma used to say
And yes, the house WAS beyond repair and was razed.
oh stiddie, i didn't realoize it was torn down..... sorry!
it's okay, kate -- how would you know? *hugs*
is it possible to get the insurance and bank and (lawyers?) all together to hash things out with everyone on the same page? can the ombudsman of any of these firms help?
change is *always* hard. That's its nature. But you're here and well, even if stressed. I like that part.
{{{(((stiddie)))}}
that is why I have confidence, kate -- these are people who are from our community, who already know and work well with each other, who (I believe) feel that it is more important to have long-term good will in the community than immediate profit
thanks moonwoof
Stid, you WILL get your new house.
it sounds to me like you require more guidance than you are getting... you mentioned a legal friend (but not in real estate field)... can he help?
eventually, yes Jill -- I might be 96, but I will have one! LOL
or, to make it grammatically what I mean, you SHALL get your new house. That's the imperative.
IMPERATIVE that stiddie and co. get a new abode!!!!
And I mean NOW. With those understanding people you can work with.
no, my friends who are lawyers are not this type of lawyer and we don't have money for the right kind. I am not actually worried about the legal bits, having read and helped write some legislation, I am worried about meeting deadlines. I am a highly punctual person, Tom is not, and his easy-going approach when combined with our rather too-common misunderstandings... *sigh* He and I rarely have "issues" but this process is extremely hard on both of us.
The birth of a new life is always difficult.
true that, jill!
anyway -- didn't mean to take up the chog with my issues. They are so minor, compared to many peoples' troubles. We have shelter, we have the means to survive even if it's not ideal, and we have "prospects" in both the short-term and the long run. We are survivors.
BIG hug Stid!
f
It's crass, but at least you wont have to move a ton of stuff =D
Hello to lilli, kate and all...
{{{{happy saanich hugs}}}}
aced with all the stress you've been through, it's no wonder you have "issues", but you'll overcome that.
evening saanich
this is true, moon -- one of the first things I said on the day of the fire was that at least I didn't have to worry about sorting and cleaning during my spring break!
*faced
((((stid))))
nice! {stid}
and to you moonwolf
ah, there are Tom and Grant back from the weight room.
i wish i had some better advice for you stiddie ( or a bunch of cash to send you), but alas, no lottery and trite sayings don't cut it... you and yours are in my thoughts, if i can think of anything at all that may help, ill chat to you. take up the chog all you want stiddie 0- that's what it's for.... we each do what we can to support our babble family. just talking can be of some theraputic value at times... everyone needs to vent, and you never know who's lurkinga and might have an angle not yet thought of.
hi saanich -- keep stid company -- I have to go to bed. 102 words found...zzz...*poof ((((stid)))
hi saan :)
thanks, kate -- and sweet dreams jill
nn jili, sleep well!
I am at 103 words, not sure how that happened!
nite lilli see you lster
if it's like it is for me, it's the typos that end up working xD
hahaha i've been on since the flip - between tv and chat i have fished out a paltry 36 words! NO balnk tiles, but i have nbs....
well my typos sure don't! sure sign of exhaustion. so to all. a Goodnight!
gn zippycat!
i've been saying niters for an hour...but i have my sine to finish ;)
wine
sweet dreams also saanich --
kate, well done on the NBT!
i worded that poorly, stiddie... do not have nbt; just nbs....
the right column "o"... is it a "normal" word? it's all i need for nbt
optal
rats!
remeber the word ru couldn't make past tense? lol
Its that one
yes
oh pardon... wrong o
it probably starts with op
it's the red bird. or6/18
or6, bird....and cooee from li'l ol' lurker me.
heya rose =)
hey ya moon
hey GR
{{{(((granny rose)))}}}} how the heck are you???
how's the knee?
thank you both, that gave me nbs and nbt!
*giggle* {{{kate}}} long time no see, hun. doing goodly, thanx. and you?
go kate go!
evening, stiddy. knee just so-so
and you dearest stiddy? are you having a good day/eve?
pretty well granny, glad to hear you are well. i hope to see you around a little more often. i have the loan of a laptop for the weekend, so i can babble tomorrow as well!
how cool is that, kate? will be like old times again....
we were just discussing me, GR --- *rolls eyes* I am in a negative head space this evening, but by morning I should be back to normal. Whatever that is...
kate, do you want to see a few pics of what my yard looks like? without the house in the way, I can get some lovely views of the chestnut tree.
oh, dear, stid. sending some loving hugs and wishes and prayers for stiddy's head.
it is positively luxurious to be able to babble morning , noon, and night! i am looking forward to seeing all my babble friends htat aren't on when i normally am throughtout the week :)
i most certainly do want to see them stiddie! i love to garden and chestnut trees are one of my very favourites!
vacation, kate?
okay, I will post them to my website by tomorrow morning. you know the URL, right? just my screen name -dot com
I need to do some upkeep on the site, but it will be the top post once I get it pulled together.
yay, stiddy...and i have the short cut already on my bar
no stiddie, i had no internet at home ( and no computer - long story) but i have been going to a FREE internet cafe where i have "made myself useful" they have been pretty good to me, and they gave me the loan of an older lap top (just like the one i used ot have) for the weekend 2 weeks in a row! the new neighbours upstairs have wifi and kindly allow me to hitch-hike on their internet.... not really working a "real jjob now stiddie :(
oooh! very nice, kate. about the making yourself useful, not about the employment situation. ((hugs)) I will put you on my list of people to hold in my heart if you like? It is discouraging to want and need a job and not get something.
you have so many other things that should take priority stiddie! but thank you for the address... i noticed it's not in your profile....
i am in the absolutely worst place in canada to be looking for a job... i really need to move back to toronto... but now, i have put down some roots, and am making a good name for myself... i'm hopin gsomething will come of it eventually
no, I don't generally put things like that in my profile. :-) even though the chog is permanent and searchable, I think people are less likely to actually look for details like that in the archives than they are to randomly look at my profile.
okay... your screen name . com
i will make a note to myself in my e-mail, so i don't forget.
yes, roots and a name are important. It's one of the reasons our home is important to me -- I have lived in that community more than half my childhood and for almost all my adult life (as a military brat this is important) -- and the people there know me and eventually I will get the job I desire. I think. I hope. Or at least in one of the local communities I have been working in lately.
and of course, kate, my email if you ever want it would be the screen name. At gmail . com
for goodness sake, just how did i miss the 3 x wh words...duh, fish slap
thanks for pointing those out, GR!
oh my, did you miss them too?
May I please have a clue for wi5-20 the 1st? Thanks
LOL okay, it's midnight here, and I was up until two this morning so time for me to take myself to sleepy-bye land.
I will get the pictures loaded in the morning I think -- they are ready to go now.
NM found it.
see you-all again soon! *poof*
wi5/20, means to handle. wi + ***erly, old ag4
night dear friend, hope tomorrow is better for you.
Thanks much, rose.
gn stid, hope tomorrow's better
yi5/16, ends the same
<---- knows ALLL ABOUT being a militrary brat... and the lack of "home". this is a very small town, and though i have been here only about 2 1/2 years, i am fairly well known. i did a lot of volunteering my first year and a half... plus a little job i have on thurdays and saturdays which gets me out in front of the people. i think my best chance is going to be because i "knew" someone who put me together with someone looking for someone like me. in the mean time, i get some odd jobs form the internet cafe as well.
pr6-27 please....thannks
good nite stidie! sleep well :)
you'll love this one, pr6, abbreviation for not amateur + lower limb
Dang, Rose, I missed it completely. Thanks much.
good grief! what is that the gam of a top notch runner????
plural of lex. Gotta love latin lol
i really must go to bed, am very tired. i hope to see you on sometime tomorrow granny!
have a good night, kate, sleep well
i never took latin, just have a smattering - mostly medical and scientific stuff... lex' plural is the lower limb?
sleep well, sweet kate. i won't be here until nearly 4am your time.
nope. plural lex = le5/14
which is what I took limb + notch to mean. I may have misunderstood
pr6, abdominal ambulatory process of caterpillars.
Well, I can well imagine that a caterpillar would be considered pr6
that's amusing
now i feel really sooo much better for knowing that..LOL
considering caterpillars are legless. sort of like me in about 2 hours time. love happy hour or 3.
good night granny, moon, peach, and of course, all the lurkerz! i am so tired, that i can't even follow your explanation of the lex thing, sorry. thank you for tryingto though. i wish i could stay up....but must poof
Sweet dreams, Kate.
you are feeling sleepy, kate, so sleepy....zzzzz
smiles warmly @ granny with a bit of a glow surrounding her ;) happy happy hour to all and to all agood night! you are right grannny... zzzzzzzzzz *poof*
either or the "el's" please....thanks
funeral oration
really poofing now....
el5/18, e + lower limb + sometimes vowel
el5/14, dodge, avoid, el + n***, buck naked
Thanks so much, Kate and Rose.
why is it buck naked?why not cow naked, or giraffe naked? none of them wear clothes.
That is a really good question, Rose.
it's a native american etymology, actually. From thier wearing blond buckskins
ahhhh, that makes sense
Thank you moon.
np. I work in historical leather ^^
or is that hysterical leather
Can be, but not usually. Unless Im really on my game =D
roflol
Was that too puny? always hard to tell when ru's not here lol
oh, pleeeeese, stop. this is killing me...
talking about puny, where is the delightful ruru? he's been very quiet tonight.
Glad I could help. I have this thing for good wrinkles
He left a bit early to watch some tele
it's called an iron, moon.
fo6-33 the 1st please....thanks
fo6, same first 4 letters to copy, + the c** sat on the mat
no! irons are the debil! wrinkles are where it's at!
it's an old-fashioned past tense of not remembering
Thanks much, hun.
*giggle* moon
potty break, brb
qu's always make my grids janky =P
hello moonwoof. much giggles here about yr puns. and hello GrannyRose and gapeach
janky??? i would love a book of your vocab. moon. is janky good or bad?
Feel better now...lol
{{{scouser}}} nice to see you
just all... twisty and wierd lol
Hey there, scouser. How in the world are you? I haven't seen you on here for a whil.
thanx for sharing, peach
And I cant lie... babble makes me make up words so I dont step all over grid owrds accidentally lol
lo scouser! glad you liked!
Knew you would like to know. I get one warning nowadays and I start toward THAT room.
I'm still babbling but trying to reduce amt of time on computer - directly proportional to the size of my waistline.
I know what you mean there, scouser.
peach, add to that taking a diuretic, then there is even less warning time.
My doctor prescribed a minimum of 2 hours a day on the computer. She seems to think it's the only way I can stay still.
maybe I should put the computer higher up so I have to stand and not sit
but then, she's also an odd duck
I drink a lot of tea and I think that may contribute to this problem....oh, hell, I'll blame it on something.
hey moonwoof - babble's working again bringing such a variety of folk together
de6-39 please....thanks
agreed! Im glad Ive managed to swing a steady connection for a while. Its excellent being back
I drink loads of black tea all day especially now I have retired. but I don't drink alcohol or coffee or milk
Does black tea have a diuretic effect, scouser?
peach more like de*, de*, wetness on grass + *s*e, land surrounded by water + sometimes vowel
Thanks once more, Rose.
peach, coffee, tea and even chocolate all have a diuretic effect. the caffeine acts like a water pill
i drink green tea only after 4pm, no coffee, black team chocolate or cola. otherwise i am still sitting up at 3am, looking for the party.
Dang, Rose, I had forgotten about chocolate.
lol, peach, not many peeps remember that chocolate has just as much caffeine as coffee
I have a friend who jokingly said, "Well, you can always get a catheter." I hope she was joking. LOL
mind you, fresh coffee has no effect on me. it's only the 'artificial' coffees that do it to me.
Wonder why that is?
*giggle* at work we currently have only one toilet for all the staff in 6 theatres, endo theatre, recovery, short stay unit and cardiac cath. lab.
i don't know peach...perhaps i am able to process the natural caffeine better? *shrug*
good morning, babble friends :)
Hmm.
roll on middle of july. we should have our new change rooms by then....after the boys have finished with them.
morning beautiful
Hey there, sprite.
YAHOO!!! cooee sprite.
hiya rose, peach, and woof *hugs*
yes, you got ir right, our new change rooms are gonna have boy germs all over them, before we get to use them. *sigh*
btw, sprite...? tickle, tickle. heheh
*warms rose up nicely*
lol, and now himself is giving me strange looks.
lol!
i only have 8 left and Im nodding off =(
I have 8 left and I think I'd better get them later today. Thanks so much for all of the help. Nite, nite.
they'll be there when you wake up, woof... sleep is nice :)
nn peach
bye peach, have a good one
I hate to do it, too, but mike is telling me to use the bed to sleep =P
It is... but *8*
lol, sure, sure. Sleep well. ;)
I guess so... I keep just swearing at the q
go to bed, lol. Even the Q will be here when you wake up again.
ok. fine. good night beautiful people. I will miss you and hope to see you, tomorrow
friggin q!
night night, woof
moon, having trouble with the q are you, hun?
qu4/9, qu + **e, sight organ
qu4/9, qu + **e, sight organ
blast, caught by the hiccup
lol... now stop tempting her, rose!
and qu 5/16 sounds like top row of a keyboard
qu5/16, qu + *, me, myself + abbreviation for right
77 found and 77 to find
hiccup isn't now, I think? Two more hours?
nice going, Maisie
TY finding it slow today though
singultus
as slow as yesterday's?
slower lol
lol! Ok, that is bad.
in that case, sprite, i'm in trouble
same. Yesterday's was a nice challenge for me.
pr 6 -- paid gam; plural
hm, new word for the dictionary but I don't think I dare to put it in: degay - the bullshit conviction some people have that A. homosexuality is a disease and B. it can and should be cured.
thank you for those two strange words
and dewig - to pull someone's hair off
lol, now that one goes in, thanks Maisie!
help!!!! himself is reading out ridiculous facts about celebrities....who cares!!!
whahaha! Smile, rose. Smile, nod and say: that is SO interesting, dear! Please tell me more!
vitamin - what you do when you have guests
hehehe, nice cryptic clue that would be
coincide - what you do when it rains
BabbleRabble would like those defs too
sew n
sprite, are you crazy??? lol. the answer is obviously 'yes'...otherwise you wouldn't be playing babble.
hiya Nanette :)
hello nanette
*nods YES eagerly*
aarrgghh!!! he is STILL going....*sob*
rose, the idea is to encourage your dear husband to the point he gets bored with it ;)
Hello everyone
ok, other approach. "Honey, can you find out some things about Barbra Streisand for me?"
nope, doesn't work....he will never be bored...you forget he is obsessed with movies.
hi lyn :) xxx
I was going to suggest ye 4/7 as shouted loudly but then found the grid accepted it
{{{lyn}}} and heaps of love
oh... eeks, I didn't know.
lol Maisie, how nice, a freebee :)
in that case, rose, your only two strategies would be A. to not react or B. to keep mixing up the facts. "Was that with Elvis? You mean Sandra Bullock was in love with Marilyn Monroe??? How exciting!"
LOL..i like that, Sprite..hello,All.
hiya zooz :) *hug*
hi Zooz
That's it 100 found now have work to do. Enjoy your day all poof as Jilli would say
ROFLOL, oh sprite...thanx
and hello zooz
good job, Maisie, have a good day!
GOOD MORNING all you great BABBLERS!
Hello, Puglet.
Hi Pug

lol--hugs to all! Hope everyone is having a nice start to their day and nice ending to those whos winding down

the never-ceasing miracles of babble and babble chog, rose!
Beautiful day here, Pugs...very hot & sunny..love it.
my day is starting up nicely. Hugs, coffee, babble and great company here.
don't understand how that happens. probably best if i don't. lol
same here, zooz!
put on a listening device and sing loudly to the music
some crooked bytes, rose. Or the internet gremlins.
About time, Sprite..i say.
Amen to that, zooz! Amen to that!
Isnt it LOVE and MUSIC that makes the world go round?
if you make it love, music and humour, I am right with ya.
Wel that rocks my boat, Pugs...mix in peace with it and i am there!
Oh yes..and of course humour too :-)
I like that in there as well, thanks zooz
:D We have a nice recipe here!
I was thinking the very same thing Sprite-lal
:)
vitreous humour
as my very expired ex used to say, quoting mash( he was never original) love makes the world go round, revenge is the axis on which it rotates
orgy
finally found the paid gam words. Thanks o-o
oops ss
ouch ouch ouch. Ok, that is vitrious, lol.
there you go, puglet, there you go. And enable won't let us have orgied as past tense verb. Evil.
lol, yeah....
sprite, i wondered why that is myself...
I mean, it is not fair. "Let's have a party. We partied all night." Right? So... "Let's have an or4. We orgied all night." Works for me. Babble-wise, that is. Not so much in practice.
Not getting the eye clue o-o?
I, myself have never been to such a party
me neither. I like my man alllllll for myself.
eye clue, zooz?
vitreous humour..is a clear gel in the eye..i thought it was a clue.
or maybe a joke
ey5, ey + **d*, get on a horse
Sorry, zoom. I am off in my own little world trying to amuse myself.
o-o. and why not?
Ahh thanks, Rose....No problems, o-o..I often am in my own little world..lol
if my ey5 was my own little world, I could fly
of all unfair things in creation, the fact I cannot fly bites most
Are you scared of flying, Sprite?
no. I would love to be able to fly. Like a bird. Or superman. Not in a plane.
phantom: celery
Whittier: “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.â€
I think Rose flies Sprite--shes superwoman!
Oh hahaha..i am with you now..me too..although i am scared of heights though..so that don' make sense..lol
she does! And she is! Unfair, huh.
you wouldn't be if you could fly, zooz.
I would enjoy that ability myself Sprite
awww, sprite and pugs. {{{hugs}}}} to you both
was talking to God about it very recently. Asked him: "So how does it all fit together? I mean, when I ask about world peace you tell me about human free will, but when I ask about wanting to be able to fly, you just say no? Where's our free will there then?"
Ive got questions for him myself when I get to meet him someday
but of course, the Big Man had the last Word and said: "Imagine how world peace would suffer when Man could fly."
But you can fly, Sprite..your spirit is free to fly where ever...you often say i will pray for you..so your spirit flies to that person for healing....where did that come from..lol
awwww zooz. I love you so much. :)
sprite, something to do with our body mass, perhaps. besides we can do all sorts of things, just not fly.
oooh thats nice Zoom
no wonder that in my books we CAN fly :)
ahhh, zooz, much better answer
pugs, just pick up the line of communication...it is open 24/7, hun
Is it possible to comprehend the "Omnis" of God?
thanks Rose--hugs to you all
When I talk to God, I just tell him he has to try harder.
Well, since we are created in His likeness, we might look at our own Omnis. But I am not sure where it is.
zooz, you've drawn me out of lurkdom to say that was a beautiful post :)
I feel so touched by you all throught this here screen!
aw Chrissie, so nice to see you. Well done, zooz!
*hugs pugs*
hey ya chrissie
There is secular spirituality too
Thanks, ((Chrissie)) Nice to see you :-)
I agree
hi all, good here just not feeling chatty
I get days like that too, Chrissie..so don't feel bad.
no need to chat if you don't feel like it, Chrissie. Great to know you are with us.
do you need a pray to lift you Chrissie
The chat lifts me pug, just very tired today thank you
lean back, relax and let us entertain you then.
strange, the reading today was from st. luke's gospel. ch10 verses 1-11 and 16 -20
why is that strange?
*reaching out to you chrissie*
For me, "lurker" is a pejorative. I am an occasional disinterested observer most of the time .... a disconnect that might be existential ...
Sprite..If i may ask..how did the B-B-Q go recently?
strange in how Our Lord's word is there whenever we need it. and not so strange...the word gives us the strength to proclaim the gospel.
I think originally 'lurker' is a pejorative. But not in babble. Here it is a friendly word for those playing, reading chat, but not chatting.
I personally prefer the word, Stealth..lol
oh zooz, that was yesterday. It was LOVELY! Beautiful weather, good food, and the best company. Rob had brought our hammock and the children played and dozed in it the whole time.
o-o I like the saying on your icon
(not our children... those of our friends, lol. Mine didn't go to the BBQ, too busy with their own lives)
Excellent. I am pleased you had a good time!
we had rain off and on all day but it was still a nice day spent with a friend
I sure did. First time in at least 12 years I was able to go to the yearly BBQ with them.
LOL..yes i think your son is too old to be seen playing about..that would seem too childish to him :-)
Yes, puglet. It speaks to me.
probably. Though with little children he is pretty good, he wouldn't mind entertaining them.
I love to still get down in the dirt and play cars with my nephew--its getting back up thats the problem--lol
Do you feel you will be able to go to nest years event too?
next*
haha..i hear you, Pugs..i hear you.
I am quite old ... and certainly am capable of being childish .... have been told to "Grow up!"
Morning everyone (0:
absolutely, zooz. I am sore today, but not too much so. Head is ok too.
hiya Lindrickway :)
LOL...i am childish and i don' care what people think either.

a 7 and two 8s have to do with carrying navigational equipment over land to more water.

does the second one happen when the various languages you have start to overlap too much, leaving you tongue-tied?
You must sing Amazing Grace so you will be found ...
ruby, po7x2 and 8: how old a haven is
was blind, but now I... ehhhh... don't see it yet....
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

i was thinking of taking her for early morning walk in the arbouredum, but i think sitting here watching the sun come up with a nice cup of tea and a bit of babble is good enough for now

tc, ((sprite))
and now for you early birds,it is time for crossy's quote of the day!!!!!
“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.†~ E.B. White

yay, mrs crossy. ditto here...i have been sleeping well past alarm time on my days off. himself says i am starting to relax more, as the splint is giving me so much relief.
please give mrs crossy my best wishes.
i will, granny and i am glad that the split is helping.i know injuries like that suddenly seem to gain magnetism and every bump, fall or dropped item becomes attracted to it:(
{{{crossy}}}
((granny)).we may be getting a new car!! squee! as the ladies say:)) crossy loves that new car smell:))
having an issue with my 'cell' phone. ag4 ago, himself put a mobile phone in for repair. when 'it' came back, he was sure it wasn't his original phone. lately i have been getting sms's from his 'phone' to say it is in sri lanka.
uh oh
better call the company who repaired his phone
they may have givine him his phone but put the wrong sms card back into it
when he had the original phone, he installed avast anti-theft program...he thought he had uninstalled the program. however it was embedded in his phone.
may be your phone but with someone elses chip in it
i have heard of this happening when the repairs are heavy and they have lots of phones being serviced and someone is in a hurry
the company has sold his original phone on. and the avast program is still on it. now, every time the person in sri lanka opens/ inserts his sim card, i receive 2 sms messages to tell me his phone is in sri lanka.
well, better look into that.that is for sure
odd things going on with your smart phone usually translate into odd huge massive bills at the end of the billing period:(
we have texted the new owner, told him how to iuninstall the program...he is non-compliant. i have to remember to put my phone into silent mode every night...or we are woken to beep-beep at 5:30am every morning.
yeah, crossy. am guessing it is now a company phone...and this new person doesn't give a s**t about the cost.
see at this point i would be calling someone to either make it right,or cancel my service, take the bloody phone back so i can get a nice new phone from a nice new provider.one that has no issues
*giggle* maybe i need to leave the phone on himself's side of the bed...? we are trying different apps every other night. hopefully one of them will work.
i have no patience for odd things going on with my electronics.either i fix it or if i cannot fix it a tech will and if he cannot ,i put it into a blender and set it to frappe
ROFLOL!!
i think my plan would work better...
when i first got into computers in the early 90,s for the house,i had no idea what i was doing and of course i instantly got myself a virus.i took it to a local computer guy who i blindly trusted and instead of rooting out the virus and making everything nice,he wiped the hard drive clean, eradicated all my things that were on the computer and when he re-installed windows and an anti-virus both were 2 years older than the software i had on it when i sent the unit to him.i vowed never to let that happen again.i got a 2 year subscription to maximum pc magazine and poured over them like my very salvation was in the pages somewhere and ever since that time,i build my own computers and have never darkened the door of a computer repair shop again.that is how crossy deals with balky electronics;))
yay, crossy...but how to translate that to himself....who thinks he knows better? *sigh*
lol.just get him a subscription and leave them laying around the house.if i can do it,anyone can
my own brother, who lectures to the top tutors of an university, who travels internationally to teach programs, apparently doesn't know as much as himself...
ah, well, *sigh* so long as i can babble, play my jigsaws, and receive/send emails....
and you do not have to end up building the actual computer.if you go into a repair shop knowing the lingo as it were, you will not get ripped off anymore.i had a unit i wanted a new operating system put into and a few other tweaks i had no time to do so i sent it to a local office supply store that did minor repairs on the side.he started off trying to charge me 300 dollars but by the time i was done interrogating him as to exactly what he did,and spending 30 minutes roaming through the innards of the computer, the bill suddenly dropped to 59 dollars plus tax
nice, crossy
there may be honest computer repair shops out there, but i have yet to see one
but i thought all canadians were honest
lol,we are not perfect, close, but not perfect
this is a huge blow :(
but we will still say sorry when we do mess up
:)
i guess that's something
hello and bye, my houseguest wants to read in the sun this afternoon, so I can Watch the Tour in the Pyrenees YAY
big smush for all xx
and as there say there must be a flaw in perfection otherwise the distinction is lost and all is chaos.there can be no fire without cold, not heaven without hell,no good without evel so we places a small flaw into all our perfect works so there can be a distinction and no chaos..lol,i better get a tea
hi/bye ((ruby))
but i don't agree with that position.
you have to.take this point: if it was 72f and sunny all the time with no wind or rain or storms, you would not know what cold is
so a small flaw only accents just how good us canadians are:))
sure but i don't believe you can base ultimate truth on human experience. and i believe God would be good regardless of whether anyone had chosen to rebel and be evil.
just because we can't IMAGINE how it would be if there were no evil, and it SEEMS to us like we wouldn't be able to know that good was good without the contrast, doesn't mean that it's true. we don't know what it would really be like cause we only know the world as it is.
eventually we may discover that god is...us. lol
no more deux la machina (sp)
okay... will leave you all to discuss the pro's and con's. me?? need to go to bed now.....xoxox to all of you

I will forgive Aloy because she is a beautiful lady.
Sigh. The neighbor is trying to mow his lawn again. He always waits until it's about 2 feet high, then goes at it with a push mower. Stall, scalp, stall, scalp, etc.

that sounds like no fun, judi
In this heat!!

I don't think he can afford a lawn service. Maybe a flame thrower would be the best.

maybe he needs a goat
They are Japanese. I don't think they've ever had a lawn before. Not sure what to do with it.
I thought they were great gardeners

i think une went squeeing off a bit ago to catch the show
Eating cookies, huh?
ty kj

missung an ri5/14
Morning crossy, scrabbler, kje, pippingeek et al!
and really, what's the difference between a cookie and a bowl of cereal anyway? ; )
I've got oatmeal raisin.
howdy,jilly
Oatmeal cookies definitly are a breakfast food ;)
and why do they call a cookie a snickerdoodle, that is the oddest name i have ever seen for one:))
lol kje, excellent rationalization.
Hey Jill
Hi Jilly
Hi hego, jilly
hi Bichon
ri5/14 - living the life of ri5
ty kje
old ww2 saying I believe
there is another ri 5/14 too, but I don't have
yes it was
will look... just found that one after you asked - lol
tv show starring william bendix
"another good one from ww1 is razzle-dazzle
a radio show before that.
does anyone have a hint for the last ri 5/14. Last word
<---is really old.
re + hurshy's university: ***e
ri + texan you all

I have qu5, what is the other q, please?
ah, ty
qu4
We do po8 when we kayak in the Adirondack Mtns!
qu 4,9
i found an 8!
TY
norse for heifer, scrab... but sounds like an alt spelling of a waiting line with lots of vowels
thanks molly!
Norse for heifer. Must write that in my diary.
lol
ty KJE for q
that way, you can insult in a new language... "you, qu4!"
I just call myself a heifer.
I'll need to call myself a heifer if I keep eating cookies for breakfast
ty Scrab for po clue.
Yes, kje.
do eggs and cookies go together?
other day,i had to po7 my canoe onto this nice little lake up in the muskokas..was a great afternoon
why not
why not, last night i mixed ouzo and alfredo
beats toast
i had a dream about canoeing!
OH, pippin! lol
Nice, Crossy. I will be in the Adirondack Mtns July 16-22. Fingers are crossed for good weather.
gropy
Fun, pip
crosses fingers for scrabs
you have never lives until you have had num-nums in a canoe at dawn in the middle of some fog shrouded lake;)
the funny thing is i drink very little (hence my hangover after 4 drinks) but i always seem to do so the night before i come here
lived
sounds precarious
perhaps you all are my hangover remedy
uh huh... sure, geek....
you must be gentle or take a bath
Crossy, we get up early and go out on the foggy lake, greeting the loons.
i love the loons
I have loons right here in my neighborhood
Me too. I love their different sounds.
and it is an indicator of a healthy lake
Haha, Hego. I used to work with a loon. His name was Dr Richard Head.
Sadly if I have more than one drink I get a hangover...
not the feathered kind, however.
one of these days i will learn what they sound like
i can get the sound for you pippin.1 sec
lots of loony docs.
my cat is going to love this
I don't drink at all. Gross.
Bottom Y. I have yu4. The other?
yay, nbt and nbs!
http://tinyurl.com/32qhdha
there are a few other loons calls he did not record there as well
you can discover the rest. i will not take away your first experience of them if you come up to crossy's i will take you out in the canoe to hear them
ba
good food and loons...I'm going to crossys!!
I have a CD of loons--they have 5 different "songs."
Hi Annie and Bobby
I was just called by a telemarketer--on a Sunday morning. Geez.
ugh.we have the nationakl do not call list for that
I thought I was signed up already.
sometimes you have to report bothersome cases that continue past 2 months or so
There are many loopholes scrabs...anyone you do business with can call
everyone ignores that now Scrabs.
nonprofits can call
hi Scrabbs :)---Bobby says hi
yes,other than non-profits
I have a new phone and you can block unwanted callers. I love it.
anyways, time to go shower down this mass of muscle,biab...poink!
When I hear an unfamiliar voice (I do not have caller ID on my landline) asking for me, I ask, "Who is calling her?"
Bye Crossy
For me the big clue is not immediatly responding when I answer...
ag 6 anyone?
brb
Yes, Jill
OMG Murray took the first 2 sets!!!
hego, elderly with with an adverb ending
Yes, he came from behind to take the second set!
ty Annie
TY, Annie
youre welcome and be back later
i found another cool video from crossy's link
scrabs, saw your comment earlier -- I well remember dr. head !!! LOL!
http://bit.ly/zu5eu7 parrots have their own names in the wild and how they learn them as babies
very cool Pippin
Une, he was a narcissistic sociopath.
i remember!!
I was smart enough to escape. The others that remain, well, they choose to be abused and degraded.
reminds me of the guy i used to wrk for who once told me, "i don't need to understand your job to0evaluate your performance"
*to evaluate"
Dr Head is not a leader. He is a bully, and a sociopath.
my severe headaches went away the week after he left
The frequency of my nightmares has decreased.
he was a classic "napoleon"
i can imagine, scrabs
I had a boss like that, but she was a woman and a nurse.
ugh, hego
Are you talking about your old boss Scrabs
many of my coworkers had stress symptoms
Anyone need any clues
hello all....hego, still need ag 6?
no ty Penq
i do, pen!

He was maddening, just made me crazy. Then I realized that I needed to be emotionally detached. Then I realized I had to leave.
annie clued
nm!
oh, well, must go. hagd All
The word before it with adv. ending
Yes, bichon. He was a nightmare.
i had a boss like that once and decided I wanted to be unemployed again
Any more clues?
tx bichon -- had it -- just needed to refresh
I decided that I had to leave my beloved patients and families in order to save my mental health.
hagd folks
Bye, bichon
bye bichon!

hi TK, my email is joso13joso@yahoo.ca Send me an e-Mail and I will return one with my phone number so we can arrange for you to pick up that old computer next time you are in Toronto.
hi joso :) thank you so much! i don't get up there very often, i would have to make arrangements for a ride, as i no longer have a car of my own... but will e-mail you.
Joso, you are in Toronto too. I live south of Buffalo.
np TK, it can wait until you are ready. Just occured to me that if a computer is an occasional thing for you then we need some other means to connect
yes Scabb, Toronto, Scarborough actually.
e-mail sent joso :) scrabs - did krista ever get up here? i never saw any more about her visit after your post.
Yes, Krista and her kids visited me on June 20th.

she had decided to put the flavors together, but left me to execute while she did dishes, it was a lovely collaboration

going out for lunch, bye dear babblers
hi all
james joyce
hi jmc :)
how is the computer test going. . . or did you finish it?
long finished jmc, it was just a routine security scan, but i had it do the full version, not the quick scan... took some time!
bye annie, enjjoy your lunch!
i have been not online most of last week so lost track. . .
so you have a computer now?
have you been very busy jmc - with "real life"? it's hard for me to keep track too....
not really jmc. the internet cafe loaned me this laptop for the weekend, it goes back on monday... using the neighbour's wifi...
i was at a conference where i went through a very difficult issue which wore me out. . . then i did my usual dog and pony shows. . . tiring
it is nice that they will do that for you. . .
ah, i do remember the issue... i am glad you stayed, even though it was hard on you. i hope that situation will be resolved to something more cjomfortable for you
i spent some time being angry. . . it was not completely resolved. . .it wore me out as i said
they have been very good to me, and i do what i can to "make myself useful", what goes around comes around.... if i didn't need to save my pennies for a much-needed a/c, i would buy it form them - it's an old one like the lappie i used to have, so it shouldn't be that expensive. joso has kindly offered me a desk top that he no longer uses... just a matter of getting it from toronto to fort erie.
well it sounds as if you can be patient it will work out for you. . .
it is good to have you around in the evenings :-)
thank goodness for the kindness of others...it has helped sustain me these last few years.
i had such fun last night, i stayed up for the flip, though i was much too tired... saw granny rose for the first time in years :))
there is a slight chance i may come up to ontario next summer. . .
that is nice granny rose is a sweetie and funny too
really???!!!! do you have friends/family up here?
<---adores granny rose :)
no the baptist peace fellowship is going to be up there and I may come. . . i am not sure where in ontario though. . .
i have a horrid ex-bil who i hoped suffered greatly in the floods of calgary!
stats for the top E please
I knew Little Mary Sunshine had a dark side. : D
really.. so much for fellowship :D
if you knew what he had done to my nephew you would both be ready to go up there with guns. . .
hi molls and ru

hi ruru :) some parts of calgary got more flash floods the last few days, they can't get a break!
hi doren

hi dorens
hi dorens :) quaker advocating gun justice??? tut tut
i haven't seen cosdem all week....
hey ru, any suggestions for something that will drink like the pascal jolivet sancerre but cost half as much?
not advocating it . . . just saying. . .
well then i really hope he is okay. . . i had hoped to meet up with hime while i was in colorado last week. . .
stats for the top E please?
yes.. try the Patient Cotat Sancerre .. blue label.. it's inexpensive and nice
He's busy moving at the moment.
thanks. will see if i can get it at my handy local guys
i have eg 4/6
ty trader
oh that would explain it. . . moving takes a LOT of energy!
I have ey 5
ty ru
hope une shows up.. exciting tennis today
nbt
she was here earlier... doing the happy dance after murray won - she will be over the moon for the rest of the week...
i'm sure she is on cloud 9
I see hego's twin sisters are in the grid...hega and hegi
I assume that Une, like any good southern belle, is prostrate on the sofa, fanning herself to recover from all the hubbub.
yes i think of her whenever i hear tennis news. . haha
haha ru
scrabs was also celebrating with her!
don't forget the mint julippe molls
and her brother hege
we need a family photo of that brood....
very exciting times for our english brethren
flash ! queen proclaims day of national celebration and thanksgiving...
Really, tennis whoo-ha and the little royal dumplin' on the way.
Hello, all...
hi jellen :)

hi ruby
am off to make ratatouille... seasonal necessity
hi ruby :)
will be checking back in. computer not far from kitchen and i need frequent breaks
seems early for ratatouille. .
bye dorens, stay cool!
i just got my first tomato and no eggplant yet
not with what I came upon at the farmers market yesterday
we finally have wonderful weather' I feel very lucky
ah. . . that makes all the difference. . .i had no cash so didn't get to farmer's market this weekend
but I think no tomatoes this year -- tant pis
and i just googled alice waters' recipe, which looks lovely. I don't think i've ever made a bad ratatouille, though.
makes me hungry to think of the ratatouille. . .
well as long as you have tomatoes and eggplant everything else seems optional
we had leftover paella and gazpacho for dinner how bad is that?
glad to hear it ruby! so now you have no excuse for not finishing the weeding...
oh yeah, I almost forgot
yum ruby!
i am so hungry now i must go make some lunch. . . bbl
left overs are great - no cooking! more babbling!!
if you like gazpacho, I will send you my recipe....
bye jmc, i'm off soon too. just finishing my tea
haven't played much with a houseguest AND the Tour de France
didn't know you had company ruby, is it much extra work for you?

Never my strong point...
and why I support grammarians...
holy moly that took me forever to find.... I fit the definition of insanity completely... trying the same word over and over thinking it'll give me a different result

Hello Smitten

there you go. I hope its not too big
It's huge, but adorable. You look so happy. Good for you.
im going to change it then
huge photos slow the chog
The lady in the background in purple is an "Oh honey, NO!"
still too big....im so sorry
hahaha
Pretty picture of the Massachusetts shore. I haven't been up that way in a long time.
yes. we were roller blading along the cape cod canal. its pretty flat, so I was able to handle a long distance easily. I have only just started roller blading, and I pretty spazzy at it
You are much braver than I am. I'm sure that is a pretty place to skate.
How did the time at his Mom's go? Did you bring the kids or was it just you two?
it was indeed. but it was HOT
it was just valentine and i, his mom, his sister, and her son, who is a five star chef. the food was INSANE
Mmm
we were on the bay side, I think, so the water was UNREAL - you could go right in, without even getting used to it or anything. A real change for this new england girl!
I got my worst jellyfish sting on the bay side of Cape Cod.
yikes! saw odd chunks of what looked like jellyfish, but nothing whole
I'm not sure if seeing odd chunks in the ocean is a good thing. : O
hahaha. it was on the sand, actually.
we really did have a great time. the weather was HOT hot hot, but his mom had AC, so I survived. in spite of copious amounts of sunscreen I FRIED, so that was sort of a bummer, but Ill live
riga
sorry
what did you do for the fourth molly?
Well that sucks. What good is sunscreen if you still get sunburned?
it wasnt' anything as bad as it could have been, so im okay
Hello friends. Trif, wonderful to see you out & aboutting & having fun! Hey Molls!
soodle!!! how wonderful!!!!!
and thanks....mr hate got married yesterday, so I wanted WELL away from it
Sadly nothing as exotic as skating to report, but the sun's shining here, I had Lemonade a la Molly yesterday, so life is good!
I saw your generous good wishes on FB! Your a better man than I am, Gunga Din Trif!
that was mostly for my kids benefit....but I did mean at least some of it, i guess
li 6/27 ?
It came across as generous & well meant, Trif. Good for you.
thanks. life is short, you know?
alcohol, sammysmom
YOLO!
in any event - its done. Im not proud of this - at all - but when I first heard, my very very first thought was "maybe I can get more child suppot now!"
Candy is dandy, but li____ is quicker!
dammmmmmmmmm.. thanks mom... one would think i should have gotten that one,
perhaps too early in the day???
Sheesh Trif! You must look after you & yours!
Trif, le5ly I don't think your ex's spouse's income has anything to do with child support.
taking benadryl for my itchies.. have welts on upper trunk and they itch
apparently it does if the new spouse is a "high earner" -- I need to find out what that actually means
Poor SMom. Why are you welty?
Whats causing the itchies, Sammys?
i don t think it is hives though... i have already had them... guess you can get them again though
bug bites?
don t think bug bites.. or they would be on legs priobably?
hives can happen any time you have allergic reaction. I had them when I found out I was allergic to acrylic
Wow, I had no idea that a step-parent would be legally bound to support step-kids.
Benadryl absolutely Zonks me..... I take it only when absolutely necessary. I go around walking into walls after taking it.
maybe strss........... hubby was in hospital almost all of last month....... he had a bleeding u,lcer .. also has copd and emohysema......... he lost lots of blood
they aren't. but they are legally required to support their spouse. And if that joint income is really high, child support can get raised
sammy, I am so sorry to read this news. how stressful indeed!
That could do it. My dad had copd/emphysema. Not fun. How is your hubby now.
Aw, poor SDad. Is he better now?
had to have 4 units of blood .... lost all his strength.. so we have him home in a hospital bed in living room... he is getting palliative care , so dr comes to house as well as nurse and therapist
gotta go....need to drive the girls somewhere. as always
Sammys, thats a heck of a lot going on. (((Hugs))))
Bye Trif. Continued happiness!
Do you have help for you?
How's he doing now, SammysM?
yup, thanks sood.. thanks god walter 11 is taking care of him.. i dont want to touch him in case this is catching.. his nurst will be hee tomorrow.. maybe he can tell me or i will have to go to ,y own md, or maybe i will justt tough it out
he is getting a little stronger, breathing a little better now and able to walk to chair and bedside commode with help...... pt starts tomorrow
we are grateful for every day .. and all my kids and grandfs are in and out constantly helping with what they can
You be sure to take care of yourself while all this is going on, SammysM. It would be very easy to neglect yourself at times like this.
yup......... taking a little time for babble as he is now watching a weird movie and i don'e have to-lol
Good. Always take time to refresh yourself.
Lol, I hear you. I was just telling a Babbler earlier that my Babble time is Time-Out for me. I chill out whilst Babbling. And with all you have going on, its important that you chill!
yup, and walter 11 takes good care of me also... he is such a blessing
Dr Soodle will have her bill in the mail to you, Sammys. For services rendered!!!
except Dr. Soodle is a protologist :D
Bend over & cough, RuRu......
yes, but soodle probably uses grease , ru
Snapping on the latex gloves......
heh heh
Assuming my Nurse Ratchet face.....
Oh please..good grief..not left for the imagination there..LOL
Relax Zooz! The Nurse Ratchet treatment is only for unruly Babblers, like RuRu!
Teehee.
:-)
I have to carefully back out of this one
number three daughter has just smacked my sb hat on my head.. that always perks me up
stop , drop. and roll. ru
Soodle, have you been gardening or walking in the woods? Sounds like you are allergic to something with stems or branches. There are other antihistamines as well. Visit your pharmacist and let them have a look at the rash.
roll? I don't think so
lol
... not unless I pinch my butt cheeks and take soodle with me :D
hahaha
Jacx, for once it's not me itchying & scratchying. Its SammmysMom!
And "I" get accused of lowering the tone here? I have never once brought up giving Ru (or anyone else) a rectal exam.
My, didn't I just pick the perfect time to check the chog? Who's scratching what, and why? Or do I want to know? ;)
Okaaaaaay...... I googled 'word games', and found Babble! Never did I think I would end up ...... clamped in the butt cheeks of a fellow word game enthusiast! Funny old world.....
son just brought me a treat......... iced tea.. neuf cheese... freetos....... another banadryl capsule and a tube of allegra anti itch cream.. that man loves his old mom !!
as long as it's not my butt cheeks!! :)
sorry after what was said i had to pop up from lurkedom...away again as too many to find and too much to do before bed
Lolling @ Lil's post, with her brazen gnome exposing himself!
this lurker is wondering what happens next
I think we all need to sit down so as to protect our butt cheeks, and things will all be fine.
Well said Champ.!! And, well done Walter11 for looking after Mom!
well.. andree.. we'd have to anal-lyze the situation
<
ALFRED 111 BEHAVE YOURSELF !!
uuuuuggggghhhhhh.....
What Sammysmom said to Alfred, only directed at Ruru!
de6 please
Ru, what can I say? It's all about your butt again. And Kate isn't even here.
de 6 - de + the name of Roadrunners Coyote
Whispers to Molly.... (Does Ruru have a Butt Complex)
SMom was talking to Ru. Everyone seems to want to call him Alfred now because of his icon.
de6 extend the water droplets word.
Nope, no butt complex. But many of the women here seem enthralled with chatting about his privates.
BTW ru, i have that mag around here somewhere.,,,,
thx bugs and zooz
yw :-)
Not getting that de6 clue at all.... :-(
clues for the we 5, 20 please?
de6...wet stuff on the grass + The Life of R**e*

Yes, but then Soodle will go all Sister Mary Kathleen and bat her eyes and deny any wrongdoing, and everyone buys it.
welcome to the ways of Babble Molly. The best of us don't hold grudges
Moi????? Mega eyelash fluttering...,
it was just soodle was talking excitedly about a recital she was doing.. and she dropped the i
and the wh7 gave me FW
Or better yet, someone will say "Oh Soodle would never say anything like that. Someone must have compromised her account."
Rofl...

She's without reproach, I'm sure... (you can pay me later Soodle)
YAY momof5. I am still looking for that one.
Congrats, Momof5!

She was pretty excited about the rectal

Ahem. Calling this chog to order, and banging gavel.

< saluting
Looking around chog in desperation, seeking help.....
Nice weather we've been having...........
Gavel is her new boyfriend
LOL
knockers for the knackers
sure has been good here, Soodle. *smiles politely and sips tea*
What is it called when people ignore the elephant in the room?
Denial of reality Molly. That is why I play Babble hahaha
I would have liked to have said my gavel is my little stick, but clearly I would leave myself exposed. And , yes, Bugsaw, the weather here has been very clement. ( Adjusting my little finger to stick out frim my teacuo)
Cup...
... with some sense of decency .. he let's that one slide
<----- eternal gratitude. Thank you Ru.
bummer ru i was expecting some funny remark
go easy on poor soodles,ruru
oh sure crossy.. you go around and be the butt of soodle's jokes :D
Yes, go easy on her. Isn't it bad enough that Gavel has a little stick?
sorry, did not know poor gavel had that problem.tell him to try the magic blue pill
Mustering as much decorum as possible, Soodle gathers herself together & exits this evening's chog. I bid you all a good night!
aww.. night soodle.. thanks for the laughs
A perfect example of who did it and ran.
Take care, Soodle.

In reality, Soodle slinks, shame facedly off to bed.....

Soodle is conflicted by Irish guilt, which makes her tremble in her bad girl shoes.
um, that would be Catholic guilt.
Hi All
hi hego.. your three sisters are in the grid
hege, hega, and hegi
???
boy, i go away to cook some soup and all sorts of hijinks go on
hello all...time to finish
actually i think it's two of hego's sisters, and together they make up the hegi
lol Pippin
Hi Jill, i returned at the right time, I see.
Duh!!! Of course!! LOL
Not all the Irish are Catholic, but all the Irish know guilt : D
Interesting Molly.
i hate it when you start cooking and well before the food is done you realize you are STARVING and will have to eat something right away
happens all the time.

now *poof*
Hi all!!

a little shmaltz?
there is such a things as too schmaltzy, after all
crossy, I absolutely love Canadian butter. It's the best!!!
right pippin
If we know our friends are going to Canada, we have them pick us up at least 10 pounds.
had to look up schmaltzy.ewww! the germans DO spread it on toast..however my da loved congealed refridgerated turkey jelly on toast
um okay....
back in a sec.have to download some ebooks for my better half..poink!
It is pouring here right now, wow what a change in weather in a few minutes. 92 and muggy all day and now this.!!!
my dad did disgusting things with cheeze wiz. Cheeze whiz and cold baked beans, whiz and peanutbutter
<---imagination runs wild...
I do pickles and peanut butter.
bbq chips and dill pickle dip
my grandmother did sliced tomatoes and peanut butter.
books are all loading:))
my mother loved onion sandwiches with butter.
what is really good is apple pie with a wedge of cheddar cheese.
yup
what's your weather hego?
hot, hot, hot
93 now
any rain in the forecast?
my mom decided i needed a second air conditioner, and i am perfectly happy to stay inside now
I don't think so
it is pretty brutal this weekend in nyc
we've been stifling here in NH
Hopefully the rain will cool things down.
hope so
beautiful and 70-75f here at the base of blue mountain ,on the shores of georgian bay.common over and we will have a crossy bbq!
which reminds me, i ought to check and make sure my basil hasn't wilted from dehydration
But, there is no global warming..............
sounds great, crossy
there is sadly, blue heron.our permafrost areas to the north are a ruin of mud and sinkholes
how far are you from NH?
no, of course not Heron.
can we grill watermelon and fennel too? they make a lovely dessert with salt and black pepper
and corn, of course, because no bbq is complete without it
that sounds wonderful pippin!!!
never heard of it ,pippin but after a few glasses of frsty bacon vodka,i will give anything a go;)
frosty
my friend and i just made it last night, i'm not sure i've ever seen them together before, but it worked really nicely
fennel, yes
you can keep your bacon vodka, i'll drink the ouzo
watermelon is so watery, can't imagine.
we actually broiled it, but i imagine grilling would be lovely. maybe on foil
so how did you do it pippin? grill one side of the watermelon and turn it over and add the fennel?
if you like ouzo,i will make sure to have some flaming zambucas on hand
wow, right now the rain is coming down in sheets!!!
i made watermelon "steaks", covered them with fennel slices and olive oil, threw on some pepper, and broiled. we used merlot salt, and in the future i would salt the watermelon first and then put on the toppings
sounds delicious!!
sounds good.
and crossy, i love sambuca
wow, i am getting tired. guess last night caught up with me. i think it will be a finished grid and then bed for this kitten
there, books all loaded,my beloved is set for a few more days;)
that's our crossy, he is a good man
lol,i do not read her,but my better half tells me about the ones she likes and i must say danielle steel is hard on a man!
every books seems to be various ways to destroy an evil man from top to bottom
that doesn't sound like fun at all
hey, i can't seem to find the pr6*7 combo, my last 2
first of all, are they in fact a combo?
of course after look at her bio on wiki,it seems of the 5 or 6 husbands she had, about half were culled from prisions:)
aaand, there they are. FW!
yaaa for pippin!!
so men are jerks because she makes bad choices?
thank you, thank you (curtseys)

Apparently Peri Syndrome is very contagious. Many people in Babble have it.

i would have done it earlier but i was out with the bairn all day and then we played yahtzee when we came home last night and got evening meal ready
i need to make it even :)
at the ready..... you have a life to live - no explanations necessary :)
you never know, i might have your fishes kate
i can help too
i know, but sometimes i let this game lead my life:(
ty joso. i still so want your dog :D
just 2 to go now, but i have the luxury of time... monkey broken - will have to take a trip to morewords....
I have a confession lil
what's that joso?
uh - oh.....
the pic of shadow you've fallen in love with is not shadow. Couldn't figure out how to move pix on phone to comp so I took one off the net that looked most like him
which "y" does the ey 5/14 come from please?
upper right y
couldn't download them to "my picture" from phone.. then onto babble?
top one kate
ty lil
That's okay Joso. You are not the only one who has posted fake stuff here.
eytal
well, you have the same breed of dog and he obviously looks very similar so who cares.i'm sure i'd want to pinch your dog too joso :)
lol, not if i get to him first liliann!!! he's adorable!
looks alot like shadow, and my shadow tales are true
The easiest way to get a phone picture to your computer is to email it to yourself from your phone.
the ey5 reminds me of Jamaica. they say it alot. has in 'how are you doing?' we'er ey***
i haven't got a clue how to put pictures off phone to computor either joso, so don't worry about it. i'm technology thick and memory gone out of the window :D
no data plan on my phone plan, phone has bluetooth but comp does not, odd cable connection.
i'd run you over with my wheelchair kate to get him :)
ask crossy next itme you see him, he's pretty much our resident computer guru...
Then you need a USB cable that will connect to your phone and to your computer. The store where you bought your computer should be able to help you out with that.
i wouldn't even know how to do that molly.email a picture to myself that is?
of that, i have no doubt, liliann.... but remember how much it willl cost you to feed him.....
got a blue tooth usb jack somewhere in the house but can't find it
Your daughter could show you L. And your phone would need to have internet access.
i have a usb lead that goes from computor to phone i think. we have that many blinking usb leads, i don't know what goes where and for what!!
Good evening all.
when shadow hit 140 pounds I put him on a diet, no wet food and 4 scoops kibble a day, costs about 30 bucks a month to feed him
my phone does molly. aye, it's sad but true that my teenage daughter will have to show me, she already does alot with computor things but i forget as soon as she tells me
May I please have a clue for or6-24? Thanks
hi peach :)
Hey there, lillian. How are you feeling today?
i'm not bothered kate, i'd feed him, don't worry about that :D
or6...starts like sex party...ends like what you do to food
sorry peach i don't have it yet
Thanks much, Molly.

ty molly and joso
Peach, how are you doing? What's up in your world?
why does it sound so bad that or4 was one of my first words?? :)
fine ty peach. how are you?
HarpJane said sw6 and or4 were her first words. : D
hi peach :)
Am finally over the bronchitis ( 3 weeks). Just muddling through the rain (no pun intended). Hope all is well with you.
because it is so bad. you are a naughty naughty girl lil ;)
that's one hell of a party :D
glad you're feeling better peach !
this place is full of naughty girls, my favorite type.
am so glad that you are getting over it peach. that's a long time to be poorly.healthy hugs to you :)
Thank you lilliann, you are a dear.
apparently peach, i'm a very naught girl! :)
naughty naughty joso....
Naughty is nice.
liliann = wanton woman ;)
soooo true peach
okay..... prepared to beg for my last word. if it's in morewords, i don't see it... monkey on strike :(
good evening all!
ri 5/14 please? (the last ri word in the list- follows life of ri***)
now i'm a wanton naughty girl!!
hi sue :)
hi sue :)
hi sue
Hey there, Sue.
as long as you're not "wanting" lil, you're doing well ;)
i don't have that one yet kate, sorry
hi peach, lilli, kate, joso!
<waves hi to sue>
i'm wanting in alot of ways kate...i want my back garden done so i can get in to it, i want a christmas holiday with my husband and bairn and i want to see him more...wanting enough :)
wanting is better than wanton:)
Glad you're getting better Peach.
ri + southern slang '***l' for the lot of you

cjompound word peach

ocean + gi4
"ocean + gi 4/6
se7 ocean *** + obscure cartoon character ****ty goose
wooot liliann, gogogo!
i will have to look at it tomorrow when i'm more with it kate
Must be really obscure, never heard of it.
i have heard of the goose...
ok :)_
Thanks joso, but I don't know the goose.
the goose's song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UagBk5L\nSUPg
i've never heard of a cartoon goose, is it canadian/american one?
i must get some food cooked, or i will starve to death! popping in and out...
i have the word anyway, i'm just wondering
early disney secondary character
are you sure joso??? for the link?
i'll have to look that up joso
the link has an extra in it, thanks to babble
no, bad link, when I cut and paste it leads me else where
ha, interesting, the extra character didn't show up when I typed it in; it appeared as a forced new line. I think I understand the problem now.
i just put it in yahoo and got photos up. i recognise it now
anyway babble inserts a backslash and an "n" into long url's
Yeah, but isn't that gertie goose?
I was thinking that too, Molly
Thanks much joso and Molly.
well, the spelling was nearly right in joso's clue. lot's of us mis-spell words. me include and i'm brilliant at speling..lol
man this is all wrong, misspelled the goose's name, and wrong goose, old goose seems replaced by some new teaching aid goose
Thank you L. I am summarily chastised.
so you are molly :)
it was near enough, a goose is a goose which could be a gander which lays eggs that we eat so heho :)
i should have gone with the dinosaur
is the gander a male or female
just looked it up, it won't be laying eggs as it is the male
Good evening, I need a clue for li6/27, please?
aye, see, now look what you've done joso :D
Anyway, Sue's comment got missed. You can't insert regular urls here, because they end up with a \n in them. You need to go to tinyurl.com and convert it.
diving back in to finish
alcohol, marc
testing a theory about the \n issue
ha!
Down to 2 both (h's) he5-12 and he5-22 please....thanks
he5/12 is a prefix meaning about the sun
he 5/22 is related to the he4/9's after it
did you get it uusue?
thanks got it
hi blue heron and marc :)
hey Kate and Marc
hi blue! He \n shows up fine if I type it in the chat box directly, but if I type it in Expert I get a new line instead
hmmm.
anyway it is apparently a control character that babble is choking on
babble can choke on anything.
Thanks so much, Sue. That was FW. See you all at the flip. Thanks again for all the help.
yay peach!
nite all
wtg peach! :) and tc hin
ty sue
\n is some glitch in the code for the chat box that automatically inserts itself after so many characters.
night blue and tc
congratulations peach!!!!!
niters blue :)
it may be an attempt to keep long strings of characters from forcing the chat box to extend itself (which it still does anyway sometimes)
fireworks!
\ "anything" is code speak for "new line" Whatever is in the code for this chat box is incorrect, so it is instead, inserting the \n instead of forcing the new line
now i've found another fish as in swimming fish...po5/20.well, that's anotherone to add to the collection!!
Yay!!Wtg sue!1 :)
hi all - back to finish
hi nan
congratulations sue!!!! hi nan :)
hi nan!
how many left now liliann?
congrats sue
13 kate
i don't have any 8's yet
woot! you're almost home!
i'm looking for qu5 at the moment
I'm sure Kate will give you all the clues you need L
i'm really tired so brain not working or eyes :)
keyboards are often referred to as "querty" hint...
8's boat toting
ty kate
do you have the po 7/40 lil? joso's clues build 2 more from it
looking for boat toting now
no kate
i take it, they go of the po4?
po7/40 is what you do when the river has a spot that's too rough for your canoe, you po7 around it
canoeists po7 around rapids
to carry a canoe over land bypassing things like waterfalls... maybe a north american thing, not sure... origin of the wored is french
i have the po4 and both 6's
yes lil...off the po4
and they do build off the po4, add a three-letter word that means how old you are
po 4/5 taht is
*Carries L's canoe for her*
ty sue,kate and joso
lol, molls..... you're doiung a helluva job!
Not being a boat person, the definition of that word never did anything for me.
..... baby you can drive my car.....
i could carry it over my head molly and you can sit in it whilst the bairn pushes me, then we all get to sit down and have a ride :)
L, I see you more on a pontoon boat, with swarthy men guiding it and your young one feeding you grapes. (Notice I did not say mushy peas)
i must admit, i'm not a boat person, apart from the fact that i've been on a ferry so i wasn't sure what i was looking for
aye, otherwise i would have tipped you out of my canoe
Not being dumb, I would never trust you with safe passage over water, L.
perhaps old harbour would have been a better clue
charming!! lol
i can actually paddle a boat as i'm sitting down, as long as i don't move my arms too much as then i start getting dizzy :D
joso, any clue is gladly received , whether i get them or not. the fact that someone has gone out of their way to clue in the first place is good enough for me
Paddle a boat, as long as you don't move your arms too much. Slow trip.
there is a town near here in Indiana named po7; I've always wondered if one had to carry one's canoes around it
anyway molly, i was talking about throwing you out of the one i was carrying over my head, and you sitting there like lady muck doing the royal wave as we go by
very slow trip molly, especially when we go round in circles!
you never know sue :)
*Adds Lady Muck to the UK terms I have learned this week. "Diddums" is still my favorite* (Notice I put no U in favorite)
yes!!
sue - probably named for an old po 7... they usually are... in niagara falls (ontario) we have a po7 street, because that was the original path... and there is a po7 la prarie in manitoba... lots of them in quebec
like all those ford and spring names
*Wonders why you need to carry a canoe over a prarie*
interesting, kate!
yes, the Rock River is near here and there are towns named things like Rockford and Rock Falls, same idea
the prarie has a few rivers, most noted for flooding at the moment
because it is on the assiniboine river , the po7 joins it to the red river .....
joso.... so wry ;)
yes sue, if you look at maps old and new... you will probably seewhere they must get around some obstacle in the water like bad rapids... or they want to "transfer " to a different waterway
de 6, please?

Hi, everyone! ((Kate)) Just here for a couple of minutes to say hello.
{{{{((((MIMI))))}}} i've been asking about you!!! where have you been???? i was worried
soooo glad you stopped by :)
Dear Kate. Jilly emailed me and told me. I asked her to tell everyone I was fine....just working a lot...finally. But I miss you guys SO much! I'm fine, dear. You can always email me personally...glad to hear from you.
i was just about to e-mail you... others had said they saw you around the chog, figured i was just missing you... glad you're working, though hope you don't overdo it. i saw some comments about "the nutter" and the "normal" one.
i know how much this job means to you, you must make it your first priority!
Yeah, got a really terrible dr. who I've nicknamed "the alien chipmunk with OCD on drugs." She's REALLY bad. I'm the type who gets very irate when the working relationship isn't as reciprocal as it should be....hanging in and trying. Making pretty good money, though, and tonight I treated myself to a pizza for the first time in nearly 3 years! It's the little things in life....
Since I can't eat much at one time, this pizza will last me three days!
So glad you have a computer you can use at home instead of at the coffee place!
ah mimi, i know where you're coming from... i remember a post not too long ago about kd and pb... i won't elaborate, but i wanted to help.... at the time i had nothing to assuage the situation... when do you get your first cheque from the job?
Already have one but the bigger one is this Friday. My first early retirement check is in 10 days as well...things are definitely looking up. I did see where several of you are talking about meeting up...Canada people, etc....so wish I could join you!
Talking to Jilly about getting us western Babblers together maybe in September.
so glad to have the loaner, but it goes back monday...i wanted to buy it, but i desperately need an a/c for my apt. basement, but surprisingly warm and extremely humid here. lots of black mold... makes it tough to sleep in the warmer weather, as i get very little breeze through the 2 windows.
Oh, dear, wish I could help. I have a computer that needs a mother board I could let you use if we were closer. Did I see where joso was going to help?
so glad you already have the extra cash coming in, thought it might be weeks..... we will have to have a PB party to celebrate your new-found success!
It has been a long hard struggle, Kate...and today I found myself being sad and weepy about my kids...no solution there, just heartbreak...but somehow I'm strong enough to keep on keepin' on! Grateful for what I DO have.
mimi, dear mimi, no need to worry... last month was just an especially tough month for me. i have a roof over my head - i'm safe (nowthat the psycho neighbours upstairs are gone), and i eat very well - just absolutely nothing extra...
One of these days, Kate, we'll get together. I'll find a way to come and visit and we'll go see our Babble people...I just KNOW it! You are so special to me.
i hope you manage to have a meet-up out that way - there are lots of you, but spread out all up and down the country!
we will make it happen mimi! perhaps after yoou move to thatr special little place you've had your eye on????
That will hopefully happen early next year. But in the meantime I want to see you and crossy and Min and everyone out that way. Just a plane ride away...
i'm so glad that things are looking up for you, i know how hard you have been trying, and how much you have sacrificed.... wish there was an easy solution for the kids... one thing at a time :)
I have excellent friends who love and support me and have become my family....never take that for granted. When such special people care about you, it helps one's self-esteem.
if i cou;ld arrange it, i would have a huge babble meet-p out wash. d.c. way... they seem to have a great core group, and is very easy for many to get to... and of course, i have not seen the capitol.....
D.C. is amazing....I've been there several times. You could spent your entire life seeing the Smithsonian. My godson is there working on his Ph.D. and when done will hopefully be back in Berkeley....where his mother (my best friend of 44 years) and I want to join him eventually.
crossy - i love to pieces... and min! well, what can i say??? she's always so helpful and pleasant... the unofficial "hostess" to the grid... it's so nice to be greeted by her
Dear Kate, I'm really tired and must start work early tomorrow, so will have to say goodnight. So glad I could talk to you and do send me an EM any time...I would love hearing from you.
you're making me drool mimi, when i went to london, i spent 3 full days in the british museum, and never even finished... not to mention the vic and albert.... i get "lost" in museums
Hello! Fireworks! Goodbye!
sweet dreams mimi! i will write you soon....sorry i forgot the time and kept you past your time... niters!
hahaha min!!! welcome to the grid :)
and congratulations!!!!!!
I always must go to the Gem and Mineral section of the Smithsonian and see the Hope Diamond, etc....LOVE minerals and have a nice collection myself.
Hey, Min, we were just talking about you!
hopefully, she knows we were saying nice things about her!!!
Absolutely worth it to touch base with you, Kate...so happy we connected. Stay in touch, dear, and know I am always around to support your spirit. Goodnight! HUGS.
amethyst is my absolute favourite... second is aquamarine
{{((mimi))}} sleep well my dear!

Purple is my favorite color...I have a beautiful Brazilian amethyst and diamond ring and also an aquamarine pendant and earrings set. My birthstone is emerald. I have many blue stones...mostly London Blue. When my daughter turned 21 I got her a beautiful vintage-looking blue and white diamond ring...gorgeous.

Hello all...
jellen :) how goes the battle?
Which battle would that be?
the great battle of life, of course! or any minor skirmish you care to comment on....
Ah...
My patience has been tried today...thought I was going to spend time with Josh, but his family hijacked him...
:( that sux, Sux, SUX!!! whence did they hijack himself to? and to what purpose?
understand being miffed - after those litttle words... inconvenient, to say the least!
I'm not sure...He just told me that it was a family get-together that he couldn't escape.
Now he's waiting for his mom to come home so he can leave...SMH...
i does happen... try not to stress out too much over one day - it's a day, not a month, or a year... you hav e lifeitme!
SMH = requires translation, please.....
just in to change icon, bbl
Shaking My Head
Hello, flosey...
hi flosey, bye flosey, see ya flosey! :)
ah Jellen, waiting for Mom to come home so he can come over to see you
hi Kate
Yup, flosey!
good, bye for now
My problem is that it seems to happen a whole lot...
does mom require a lot of care? if so, it must be accepted now, or it will lead to problems later....o rperhaps she will be watching his kids... not sure...
Yes, I think at least one of his kids is still there...
mom as excuse not to see you?
It usually has to do with the kids...
well, someone has to watch the little one.... musn't be irresponsible...
Yeah, but he wasn't scheduled to have the kids today...
kids will always pop up when you least expect/want the diversion....try to roll with it? there will always be "hiccups" the real question is can you roll with them?
My impression is that the ex dumps responsibility on him. Like not picking them up on time, etc.
It will be better when 1) he's comfortable with me being around the kids, 2) when the ex knows of my existence, and 3) it's okay for me to be around the family...
ah, a classic control thing by one or both of the former partners..... you're not asking, biut i suggest you stay out of it... nothing good comes from getting in the middle of that particular can of worms.... further along from now, you could embrace this as an opportunity to spend some "quality time" as more than just a couple..... just not yet
you are entirely correct, the only cure for this is time..... and i thnk you have a very realistic handle on the situation... though i can commiserate with you - you meet a great guy and wnat to spend a lot of time with him (perfectly normal when the pheremones are alight) but cannot because one of you has RESPONSIBILITIES. don't trade a short term gain for long term pleasure
Wise words...
LOLOLOL LMAO... from a woman who has NEVER been married, and has no children... but i watch others and learn... osmetimes
.... and i once met a guy - both ridiculously crazy for each other... long story short - he had the responsibility of a son to care for full time, and i was ultimately a distraction to his prime goal in life - get the son ready for the real world... i still misss him :(
(((kate))) hey all
(((Jellen))) sounds like you're pretty busy
hi stiddie :) how's tricks tonight? are things going as smoothlyu as possible under the circumstances?
i've slain the chog :( note to self: don't tell any more stupid stories....
I think so, we spent most of our time today at IKEA (again) trying to be sure we were getting furniture we actually WANT and will keep for a few years. It's not a lot of fun to feel that we have to have all this stuff right away, but really we DO need things like beds and a sofa. So there's a bunch of "decisioning" going on and it's tiring. You?
any chance you could buy "gift cards" instead of the actual furniture until you need the stuff? don't you have to store it all???? ...and in canada IKEA is swedish for "out of stock" (running gag)
up here, ikea has become veryu expensive... you can easily buy a couch (assembled and delivered) for less than they charge...
:-) today was the first time ever that something we wanted wasn't in the store, but we adapted and just got a different color. And right now we need beds and a sofa. Really need. We are sleeping on air mattresses lent us by a friend (we had the rental furniture removed yesterday), so it will be long enough waiting for the furniture to be delivered now.
oh, i thought you were staying with family...
We have no trouble assembling IKEA things ourselves. :-) but king size beds and sofas don't fit in my minivan.
disregard my ramblings
... so your nes best-est friend will have a pick-up truck?
LOL it's okay kate -- the fire was in March. The insurance company has us in an apartment, and they were renting furniture for us, but it was so uncomfortable (much too big for us, and made my physical limitations worse), so we are replacing our furniture now instead of after the house is built.
you are right, no one can get a decent night's sleep on an air mattress....
We have friends with trucks, but IKEA is way the heck and gone distant from us. So only in a real emergency.
where did Jellen go?
oh! so that is the "crush"!! it makes sense now...
and who is Jellen's icon?
i have to reload babble, can't scroll.....
Tomorrow I have to concentrate on getting two applications finished up for a couple of jobs that opened last week.
okay
icon is her new beau, josh bbs
oh! hm. Not bad to look at...
back in a few
had to restart computer, it seems to do it once a day.... scroll won't work, and sometimes i can't even input.... maybe jellen had a surprise visitor at the dorr????
door....
that would be nice for her!
so frustrating when a computer has issues like that, have you tried clearing the cache? Sometimes there is something weird that "sticks" even after a reboot.
she doesn't usually dop out with no salutations... a phone call or something must be keeping her.... i forget how to clear the cache, it's been ages- but the lap top i am on was wiped clean and cjompletely reset (for sale) prior to my getting my paws on it...
it may be something to do with XP or this particular type of lappie ( IBM thinkpad 43) i had the same problem with my own (same lappie)
do you have air conditioning TK
no i don't joso, but i do have the lappie slightlt elevated, so air gets underneath it.
and it's not that hot or humid atm
that's good, I do the same with mine
slightly elevated*
hey joso
yesterday was much worse, both heat and humidity-wise...
and i'm on a butcher block table, not a lap or bed covers....
put your fingers near the air vent exit, is it very warm?
hi stid, howyadoin?
not bad, joso -- Tom just made sandwiches for our supper and salad. :-D I am so pampered
how about you?
kate, we "blew out" the parts of my laptop a week or so ago (took off the back and gently cleared the muck off the fan). It's amazing how fast it accumulates! If your fan seems to be running constantly, it might be dust inside.
only place i feel any heat is center underneath, but not hot, just a bit warm. think air vent is on the left on this contraption...looks like the right kind of "fins"
watching dexter with shadow at my feet and a belly full of chinese food
sounds good TK, prob not an overheating prob
fan not noticeably running all the time... computer was fully cleaned for resale, so it should be good maintenance-wise
sounds like a perfect evening to me, joss!
sorry -- spellcheck hits again... joss.
jo-so
joso has idyllic life!
dumb spellcheck. *stern mama look*
